Russian ruler Vladimir Putin said that the claims by the West alleging Russia is going to attack NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) are all lies. In fact, the word he used was “bullshit.”
This “idea” is nothing more than a ridiculous attempt by The West to maintain hegemony by fear, Putin said. Considering the West has crossed almost every single one of Russia’s red lines, and the former Soviet Union has yet to retaliate, Putin very well could be being honest here. But also, he is a member of the ruling class elitists and that needs to be taken into consideration. None of them should be trusted.
Ukraine And NATO Urge U.S. To Cross Another One Of Russia’s “Red Lines”
As much as the West is pushing Russia, it’s impossible not to notice how restrained Moscow has been. Even though all of its warnings have gone unheeded, it has refrained from attacking NATO and it’s allies, including the United States. It is difficult to tell where the real red line is now though, because Russia seems to be maintaining its cool amidst the war-mongering Western rulers.
“Look, someone has imagined that Russia wants to attack NATO. Have you gone completely insane? Are you as thick as this table? Who came up with this nonsense, this bulls**t?” Putin said when he was asked about NATO’s preparations to defend from a Russian “invasion.” He made the comments at a meeting with the heads of major international news agencies on Wednesday, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
“Why is this being done, really? To maintain their own position of greatness, that’s why. There’s nothing to these scary stories, intended for the townsfolk in Germany and France and elsewhere in Europe,” Putin explained. “In Ukraine, we’re just protecting ourselves.”
“Don’t make up things and then form opinions about Russia on the basis of them,” he added. “You only hurt yourselves this way.”
According to a report by RT, the Russian ruler also said that the U.S. hasn’t poured billions of dollars in cash, weapons, ammunition and equipment into Ukraine because it loves Ukrainians, but because of the belief that this will further American “greatness and global leadership.”
“Nobody in the US cares about Ukraine’s interests,” Putin told the agency heads.
While Moscow has no intention of “invading” Europe, it will consider retaliating against the U.S. and its allies for providing Kiev with long-range missiles by supplying adversaries of the West with similar weapons in “sensitive” areas, he added. Although no retaliation has been committed to or even attempted yet, Russia could eventually get tired of Western intervention and that could get really ugly really quickly.
