Push of a Button: This Is How Fast They Can Lock Down the Entire Banking System

Late last week it was learned that some 40 million charge cards were obtained using physical processing systems located in Target retail locations nationwide. Though no details of the how the hack attack was executed have been released by Target, the FBI or other agencies investigating the breach, it is likely that the processing machines themselves were compromised. Target claims that the hack was sophisticated, but on the technical side, once hackers found a way into the credit card processing machines, probably via remote entry from servers somewhere in Eastern Europe or Russia, the theft of credit card data itself would have been fairly straight forward by using scripts or applications that simply capture the data and send it off to servers owned by the hackers.

This was probably one of the largest credit card thefts in history, though it is not at all surprising. Two years ago we noted that cyber attacks would soon be targeting America’s e-commerce systems and just a few months ago it was noted that rogue terrorist groups were specifically working on sabotage operation to bring down the U.S. economy. While this latest attack on Target stores and their customers fell far short of crashing our economy or financial system, it proves, as did recent breaches of Pentagon military networks, that even the most highly secured systems in the world can be compromised.

Furthermore, what this attack highlights is that with the right type of “event” the economy and financial system of the United States can be shut down… almost instantly.

If you are a JP Morgan Chase banking customer and happened to use your debit card at Target stores between November 27th and December 15th, then you got a first-hand taste of what a shutdown of the banking system might feel like and how fast in can happen.

It was done with the push of a button and impacted some two million holiday shoppers:

JPMorgan Chase has notified card holders impacted by the Target breach that their cards will be restricted to $100 ATM cash withdrawals and $300 card purchases until replacement cards can be issued. The new limits impact nearly 2 million debit card accounts, but not credit card holders.

Chase bank made no announcement to their customers of the coming restrictions just days before Christmas. They simply obtained a list of the potentially compromised cards, uploaded them into their system, and with the flick of a finger shut down electronic access to customers’ funds. Whether Chase’s actions were a bad business move is not necessarily at issue, though it was probably quite inconvenient for those affected.

What is at issue is what many in alternative media have been warning about for some time – that the entire financial system of the United States can be shut down within a matter of minutes should the right set of events be realized.

Most Americans don’t believe it can happen. Likewise, most people didn’t think that American domestic security agencies could shut down our borders and put transportation across the country on lock-down within a few hours – until it happened on September 11, 2001.

Former national security coordinator Richard Clarke has warned that America’s cyber infrastructure is so fragile that it could literally be brought down by a coordinated cyber attack in a matter of 15 minutes. It sounds absurd to suggest that our country could potentially be crippled that quickly, until you realize that China, Russia, and Iran have long been mapping our entire utility, commerce and communications grids, all of which would be the first targets in any large-scale confrontation.

Because cyber space is now considered a national asset, the President of the United States has the authority to completely shut down the internet (and all of the components attached to it) with what experts call a “kill switch.” If this executive action is ever implemented the President would need very little justification to shut it all down – the financial system, commerce systems, and all personal web surfing – for a period of up to four months, and then indefinitely if he can provide a justifiable reason to Congress.

We live in a world that is, for those paying attention, completely out of our control. Our entire way of life could change overnight for any number of reasons.

A war with a foreign power, a rogue terrorist attack, or a false flag event could all be a trigger event for something so debilitating that it would cause pandemonium from coast to coast.

Former Department of Homeland Security head Janet Napolitano recently said that a massive and serious attack on the homeland is imminent. It makes no difference why it happens. Only that it does.

And when it does, you’d better be ready for it.

Are we at the thresh hold of the greatest despair mankind has ever known or will ever see again,a “great tribulation” if you will?
I believe it’s time for each of us throw our lot in on the side of God’s Kingdom. Mankinds’ 6000+ years of self governance prove beyond a doubt that men can never remove the obstacles for true peace and security for all but they themselves are the obstacles.

                  • If the NSA is recording everything, it means they have access to all of our passwords and log in information.

Since no one goes after the theft of less than $2000 (according to the police- it is not cost effective to go after “small” thefts), how possible is it that the NSA has a covert operation to use their information and drain money at a consistent low level?

Cash is definitely the way to go.

May all my brothers and sisters in arms here on SHTF have a joyous Christmas and holiday season. This is a fine collection of knowledgable, intelligent, and astute individuals demonstrated by their commentary contributons and who, are completely aware of the dangerous times in which we live and a reality unknown to the MSM and those who live off the hard work of others via the oppressive taxation of today’s multiple levels of corrupt and inefficient government. Be strong, stay near to your family and friends, read profusely, and remember the lessons of history which built the freedoms and liberty previously enjoyed in this country.

                • Xmas info freebie:- http://dronesurvivalguide.org/

I still think the biggest threat is not the take down of the electric grid or the kill switch on our bank accounts but a virus. It’s the cheapest, most efficient method of meeting agenda 21. We are so acclimatised to chemtrails that I cannot shake the idea of of drone delivered viral attacks as the final solution this go round for most of us despite the protestations of American Gun enthusiasts

(being British I know murder can be committed via molotov, knife, opium or dog just as easily as with a gun – guess we are forced to be more creative in our daily self-defence preps than you guys sometimes).

Bird flu seems to be the favoured propaganda meme so assuming this is the case, how many of you have thought about what you are gonna do to try and keep your chickens in perpetuity? The best I’ve come up with is to save 2 hens and one good quality cockeral as breeding stock while culling the flock.

If the elite tell us it’s a bird flu then culling the national cheap protein food source (chicken is especially popular in the south/the poor) ties in with weakening the population’s immune system. Poor nourishment makes any bug more effective – common sense. Part of my thinking comes from watching how our government handled the CJD outbreak and foot and mouth issues here in Britain.

Biggest risk is from wild birds infecting my flock so enclosed, roofed secure housing to keep my “core survival breeding flock” The idea is that I’d cull the main flock at the first hint of trouble and pop the 3 birds somewhere well away from my home/land tucked out of the way somewhere nice and safe till the quarantine risk was lifted. I know this is no guarantee that I’d still have birds to breed from once it was all over, but it’d be a start you know?

In an ideal world I’d hide 2-3 nuclei flocks as living caches, but I’ve only found one location to date that I think would go un noticed despite a cockeral’s racket. With the storms we’ve been having in the UK recently, it’s just not been smart to go on too many recon trips in my new area recently.

This type of housing is I think real easy to build and pretty predator proof. http://www.poultrypark.com/housing-and-equipment.html. Only difference is I’ll be using Onduline for the roof instead of felt to reduce the risk of mite infestation. I’d be interested in other’s opinions though.

            • 1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

For me, this is what keeps me sane, I know that the Lord is my Shepherd and he will lead me in the right direction.

Scary times are happening now and they may be worse in the near future but God has a plan for those who believe, so just believe.

Merry Christmas everyone and happy birthday baby Jesus.

              • Jesus is no longer a baby. He isn’t under the care of his mother either.

(Mark 14:61-62 NIV) But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?” {62} “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

                • Barn Cat,

It was just a sweet thought, I know Jesus is no longer a baby. Why so critical?

                  Proverbs 15:1-2

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly.

                  • What’s wrong with correcting error? How was my answer harsh?

                  • Barn Cat,

I do wish you a very Merry Christmas, you contribute much to this site, there are many times that I agree with you. To some, especially children, Jesus is in the form of a baby this time of year especially with the Nativity Scenes. Sorry I offended you.

                • Jesus is dead, has been dead for 2000 years, and he’s not coming back to save anyone, ever. Get over it and stop your biblical babbling.

                  • How terribly sad.

                  • Crow is right. It’s terrible Nobama.

                  • Nobama, go somewhere else with your COMMUNIST babbling and go f#$% yourself!

                  • @ Nobama. The problem with your statement is that it is based on faith also because you can’t prove what you are saying. You are making a statement based on your belief. If you have scientific proof of what you say, they present it. Other wise you are condemning people for their faith based on your faith that you are correct. That makes this a statement that is hollow as you are saying to others.

                  • @Nobama

                    Hedge your bets much???

                  • How do you feel about the tooth fairy? I know I offen find myself standing in the middle of a dentists office screaming at the top of my lungs “there is no tooth fairy people wake up” so I was wondering if you have that problem too?

                  • It has always amazed me that free speech is only considered correct for some. I find more and more that all speech is allowed unless you are a Christian. Nobama why does it bother you that people believe in Jesus? How does that hurt you in any way?
You have the right to believe in whatever you want. That is the country that our Christian founding fathers created with the help of God.
You don’t have the right to tell me or anyone else to shut up about Jesus. Guess you are just going to have to get over it.
                    I feel sorry for you.

                  • Nobama: You’re the primary reason I never “join” anything like patriot org./civic clubs, vets org, etc. or donate to them. We used to decades ago, but some members/ leaders are Mormons, Atheists, Catholics, masonic, agnostics, new age types, etc. (ex: Birchers are Mormon, Eagle Forum is Catholic) Some bloggers are new age/agnostics, etc. How can two walk together lest they agree? We must find like minded folks in our area for bartering purposes, etc. Don’t join anything or go to conferences, rallies, mtgs, etc. They produce nil. Infiltrators (FBI, etc) are sure to be there. Don’t participate in voting on any level as Ag 21 has control in local cities and towns and politicians are bought.

                  • Maybe your namesake Obuttma will save you? You are a fool.

                • Happy belated “birth” day baby Jesus!

                • I’ll play the scripture game with you all.
$ <<<notice it looks sorta like a snake going up a staff.

                  No mystery.

                  they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all;

                  Knock yourselves out.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

                  • rajak, not sure what your point is. You end your comment with John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (Merry Christmas!) John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,(and we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Trekker Out.

              • In fewer words??
‘The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you’

                • Now, that is worth stealing.

          • Another possibility is that the big banks didn’t like Target moving into their territory. Think of how much potential revenue the big banks are loosing to Target because of the CC fees they aren’t collecting.

Not saying they had anything to do with it, but wherever lots of money is involved, those who have the most to loose have been known to do some evil deeds.

            • @ NCClyde ~ Heard on the news that Target is now dealing with Multiple LawSuits from pissed off customers having their credit card information compromised.

              • Emily, etc: There was a class action filed Monday in Montgomery, Al. district ct. against Target. I hope the gov. sues them for security breaches/slackers on security. I will no longer shop there and encourage others to dump them and cancel their cards. If you have to get something there, use cash- ditto for TJ Maxx, Barnes and Noble, Michaels who were hacked several years back. These retailers credibility is shot to hell. There needs to be a standard for retailers to have top notch security. Damaged reputations are on going.

                • @ laura m. ~ Hi laura m., and Merry Christmas to you.
Good for Montgomery, Alabama ! I hope they get justice for all the victims. I had No Idea that Barnes and Noble, TJ Maxx, and Michaels were also hacked into regarding their credit cards way back. You are 100% right, there needs to be a standard for retailers to have top notch security. People put their ‘Trust’ with these stores via using their Credit Cards. The Trust is now Destroyed for Target. Also good points, Damaged reputations are ongoing, and, their credibility is shot to hell. A few posts down, a person mentioned that the strip on credit cards are 15 years old and very dated. He brought this to the powers that be attention, and was ignored. I pay with cash and pay with money orders. I have very good financial planner. I have my $ diversified into different things. I only keep enough money in my ESL account to pay the bills. Some people are not so fortunate. Living paycheck to paycheck, and using their credit cards to make purchases for family/children. Some only pay the minimum balance on the total, just to survive and stay afloat. There is a lesson somewhere in all of this, and I believe the damn retail stores better tighten up their financial security systems. What a sad way and a sad commentary to end the Christmas season.

          • Could someone tell me what FSofA means?

            • Financial System of America?

            • Ed don’t know in what context you saw it. But my guess would be, Fascist States of America. But McDave might be right. Trekker Out.

          • Cash. Cash. Cash.

            If possible, use only cash.

            ~GV

            • GV,

I try to, but more and more places are starting to generate away from physical to electronic. Slowly inch by inch till it is impossible to buy anything without a swipe of the card.

Merry Christmas to all and to all, be ready for the fight that’s coming!

              B Aware, B Awake, B Alive

              • Then, those ‘places’ don’t get my business—At&t lost good patrons of 10+ years for charging $5 for paying with cash.
                Adios is universal, folks!! 😉

                • Same here, JayJay!

Even when I give cash for a sale, I’ve been asked for personal information like driver’s license #, street address or zipcode.

I’ll always say: You either get this cash sale, or you get my information. You will NOT get both (of course, I wouldn’t actually give them the info, they always end up taking the cash).

                  😀

                  ~GV

                • Amen Jay Jay

We should just keep on paying cash wherever we can. I just tell people I’m on the Dave Ramsey plan– it helps me budget– It really does when I pay cash and have to think about how many $$ are left in my billfold!

It’s your right to complain and make noise and move your business when companies have stupid business practices

                  Country girl

                  • C.G.
I love paying with cash for things.
The reason why, is the look on some peoples face. They do not seam to know what that green stuff is, I don’t care if it $5.00 or $50.00 they just look and stare with there mouths open and go DUH!!!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

              • The main reasons retailers like cards are so they can use your personal information for marketing and so their employees have more trouble stealing from the retailer. The companies only pretend to care if their employees steal from you. A side benefit is the sale of your information.

              • We pay with cash for almost everything. Never owned a credit card. We have one monthly bill that must be mailed off. So we only keep about $100 in the bank account. Ive never had any problems finding any business that refused to accept cash. If I did they just simply wouldn’t get any revenue from me. The same haircut the Greece accounts received could happen any place. Only a fool keeps his money in the bank.

          • Number of cash customers with identy stolen was zero.

            • I have been doing the cash thing for 10 years at least. I cash my paycheck and only put enough in the bank to cover a few online purchases. All other bills are paid by mail with money orders, all shopping with cash. No credit cards, savings in metals. If someone did manage to steal my identity I feel sorry for the idiots lol good luck with that 🙂 Heres a good prep tip: Besides the need for radio comms it’s a very good idea to have a wide range scanner! Scanners aren’t that expensive and you can monitor all kinds of things going on around you. For a list of frequencies in your area go to http://www.radioreference.com Little brother can listen too 🙂 Make sure you get one that can be run by 12 volts so you can use it off grid or in your can and keep an extra set of batteries with it. It could prove priceless to have info from your local (authorities) if something was going down. 2 way radio comms, scanner, shortwave reviever, yer set! Make sure to have plenty of spare batteries for all your equipment (rechargeable preferred) and 12 volt power cords to run it from your vehicle. If your radio doesn’t use 12 volts but has an external power jack just get one of the multi voltage cig lighter adapters with multi plug end. Prep on!

              • Many law enforcement and other entities are going to trunked systems which replaces frequency assignments with groups that change frequencies as a unit. Scanners for these are hundreds of dollars and I understand still will not pick up everything so don’t be disappointed if the emergency services you get on that Bearcat you bought at a yard sale is mostly volunteer fire departments and ambulances.

                • Yes Pastor some are going trunked but most are not. Mainly its the big cities that are trunked, you can just look up your area on http://www.radioreference.com and find out. Everything around me is analog non trunked including BLM and state frequencies. Some companies will pre program your scanner with all your local frequencies for a fee too. Unless your in a major city odds are you will be ok and even then a lot of agencies are likely to still be non trunked..

                  • We live in a mostly rural county with no big cities. I just checked and everything in our county is on the trunked system.

                    ~GV

                  • Hey GV, if your not scanner savvy this site will set your scanner up for you (for a fee) with all your local trunked stuff.. http://www.scannermaster.com/?Click=20907 A little pricey but a very valuable tool to have. I admit I’m not too savvy on the trunked programming luckily none of my local stuff is trunked. If it was i would send my scanner in and have it setup for me.

                • If you get an older programmable, you may be able to set your own frequencies. I set my bearcat in increments of ’10’ and got set-to-set and local secure channels as well. You can also change the crystals in the older ones, but the newest digitals are not so easy.

                  Sometimes, older is better.

          • is this just another reason to use cash?? 😉

          • that’s probably what they meant to say to Americans

          • They also have a switch to turn off your 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th Amendment rights. Martial Law and the NDAA.

The only way they can switch my rights off is stop me from breathing. I know it can be doneeasy enough, but oh it will be one (hellofa) fight.

              Merry Christmas

        • A push of a button. Ever since people have made that push of button all that convenient, the world hinges on the edge from the financial world to the end of civilization. A push of a button, a thought, and the END comes in someway. Maybe next time it won’t be a human doing the button pushing that fries everything, a rogue computer, an error. No fail safes mean that everyhting as you know it can be totally warped in the span of a nanosecond. Ridiculous, and maybe meant to be. Just like the button you use to send a comment, that quick and everything is transformed for the worse. Nice thought going into Christmas and the New Year.

Still may everyone have a really nice and safe Christams tomorrow.

          • @ Mac&Tess, BI, Braveheart, Daisy,JOG,KY MOM,JayJay and EVERYONE on the site. Merry CHRISTmas to you all!!

Please think of us here in Canada. We are in the middle of an ‘Ice Storm’…. a large portion of our Country has been without electricity for 2 days now….half a million in one of our major cities (Toronto)at the peak of the outage…still 250,000 without power. Some areas will be without till after Christmas. We are getting help from other power companies, some from the USA….Thanx Michigan!

My part of the country was not hit,we are in the ‘boonies’ a couple hours away from ‘the big city’….but for the Grace of God go I!!

JOY TO THE WORLD! Take care, CC.

            • Merry Christmas to you and everyone at shftplan!

Here is one of my favorite Christmas stories.

              Christmas 1881

Pa never had much compassion for the lazy or those who squandered their means and then never had enough for the necessities. But for those who were genuinely in need, his heart was as big as all outdoors. It was from him that I learned the greatest joy in life comes from giving, not from receiving.

It was Christmas Eve 1881. I was fifteen years old and feeling like the world had caved in on me because there just hadn’t been enough money to buy me the rifle that I’d wanted for Christmas. We did the chores early that night for some reason. I just figured Pa wanted a little extra time so we could read in the Bible.

After supper was over I took my boots off and stretched out in front of the fireplace and waited for Pa to get down the old Bible. I was still feeling sorry for myself and, to be honest, I wasn’t in much of a mood to read Scriptures. But Pa didn’t get the Bible; instead he bundled up again and went outside. I couldn’t figure it out because we had already done all the chores. I didn’t worry about it long though; I was too busy wallowing in self-pity.

Soon Pa came back in. It was a cold clear night out and there was ice in his beard. “Come on, Matt,” he said. “Bundle up good, it’s cold out tonight.” I was really upset then. Not only wasn’t I getting the rifle for Christmas, now Pa was dragging me out in the cold, and for no earthly reason that I could see. We’d already done all the chores, and I couldn’t think of anything else that needed doing, especially not on a night like this.

But I knew Pa was not very patient at one dragging one’s feet when he’d told them to do something, so I got up and put my boots back on and got my cap, coat, and mittens. Ma gave me a mysterious smile as I opened the door to leave the house. Something was up, but I didn’t know what.

Outside, I became even more dismayed. There in front of the house was the work team, already hitched to the big sled. Whatever it was we were going to do wasn’t going to be a short, quick, little job. I could tell. We never hitched up this sled unless we were going to haul a big load.

Pa was already up on the seat, reins in hand. I reluctantly climbed up beside him. The cold was already biting at me. I wasn’t happy. When I was on, Pa pulled the sled around the house and stopped in front of the woodshed. He got off and I followed. “I think we’ll put on the high sideboards,” he said. “Here, help me.” The high sideboards! It had been a bigger job than I wanted to do with just the low sideboards on, but whatever it was we were going to do would be a lot bigger with the high sideboards on.

After we had exchanged the sideboards, Pa went into the woodshed and came out with an armload of wood—the wood I’d spent all summer hauling down from the mountain, and then all fall sawing into blocks and splitting. What was he doing?

Finally I said something. “Pa,” I asked, “what are you doing?”

You been by the Widow Jensen’s lately?” he asked. The Widow Jensen lived about two miles down the road. Her husband had died a year or so before and left her with three children, the oldest being eight.

Sure, I’d been by, but so what? “Yeah,” I said, “Why?” “I rode by just today,” Pa said. “Little Jakey was out digging around in the woodpile trying to find a few chips. They’re out of wood, Matt.”

That was all he said and then he turned and went back into the woodshed for another armload of wood. I followed him. We loaded the sled so high that I began to wonder if the horses would be able to pull it. Finally, Pa called a halt to our loading, then we went to the smoke house and Pa took down a big ham and a side of bacon. He handed them to me and told me to put them in the sled and wait.

When he returned he was carrying a sack of flour over his right shoulder and a smaller sack of something in his left hand. “What’s in the little sack?” I asked. “Shoes. They’re out of shoes. Little Jakey just had gunnysacks wrapped around his feet when he was out in the woodpile this morning. I got the children a little candy too. It just wouldn’t be Christmas without a little candy.”

We rode the two miles to Widow Jensen’s pretty much in silence. I tried to think through what Pa was doing. We didn’t have much by worldly standards. Of course, we did have a big woodpile, though most of what was left now was still in the form of logs that I would have to saw into blocks and split before we could use it. We also had meat and flour, so we could spare that, but I knew we didn’t have any money, so why was Pa buying them shoes and candy?

Really, why was he doing any of this? Widow Jensen had closer neighbors than us; it shouldn’t have been our concern. We came in from the blind side of the Jensen house and unloaded the wood as quietly as possible, and then we took the meat and flour and shoes to the door. We knocked. The door opened a crack and a timid voice said, “Who is it?” “Lucas Miles, Ma’am, and my son, Matt. Could we come in for a bit?”

Widow Jensen opened the door and let us in. She had a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. The children were wrapped in another and were sitting in front of the fireplace by a very small fire that hardly gave off any heat at all. Widow Jensen fumbled with a match and finally lit the lamp. “We brought you a few things, Ma’am,” Pa said and set down the sack of flour. I put the meat on the table. Then Pa handed her the sack that had the shoes in it.

She opened it hesitantly and took the shoes out one pair at a time. There was a pair for her and one for each of the children—sturdy shoes, the best, shoes that would last. I watched her carefully. She bit her lower lip to keep it from trembling and then tears filled her eyes and started running down her cheeks. She looked up at Pa like she wanted to say something, but it wouldn’t come out.

“We brought a load of wood too, Ma’am,” Pa said. He turned to me and said, “Matt, go bring in enough to last awhile. Let’s get that fire up to size and heat this place up.” I wasn’t the same person when I went back out to bring in the wood. I had a big lump in my throat and as much as I hate to admit it, there were tears in my eyes too.

In my mind I kept seeing those three kids huddled around the fireplace and their mother standing there with tears running down her cheeks with so much gratitude in her heart that she couldn’t speak.

My heart swelled within me and a joy that I’d never known before, filled my soul. I had given at Christmas many times before, but never when it had made so much difference. I could see we were literally saving the lives of these people.

I soon had the fire blazing and everyone’s spirits soared. The kids started giggling when Pa handed them each a piece of candy and Widow Jensen looked on with a smile that probably hadn’t crossed her face for a long time. She finally turned to us. “God bless you,” she said. “I know the Lord has sent you. The children and I have been praying that he would send one of his angels to spare us.”

In spite of myself, the lump returned to my throat and the tears welled up in my eyes again. I’d never thought of Pa in those exact terms before, but after Widow Jensen mentioned it I could see that it was probably true. I was sure that a better man than Pa had never walked the earth. I started remembering all the times he had gone out of his way for Ma and me, and many others. The list seemed endless as I thought on it.

Pa insisted that everyone try on the shoes before we left. I was amazed when they all fit and I wondered how he had known what sizes to get. Then I guessed that if he was on an errand for the Lord that the Lord would make sure he got the right sizes.

Tears were running down Widow Jensen’s face again when we stood up to leave. Pa took each of the kids in his big arms and gave them a hug. They clung to him and didn’t want us to go. I could see that they missed their Pa, and I was glad that I still had mine.

At the door Pa turned to Widow Jensen and said, “The Mrs. wanted me to invite you and the children over for Christmas dinner tomorrow. The turkey will be more than the three of us can eat, and a man can get cantankerous if he has to eat turkey for too many meals. We’ll be by to get you about eleven. It’ll be nice to have some little ones around again. Matt, here, hasn’t been little for quite a spell.”

I was the youngest. My two brothers and two sisters had all married and had moved away. Widow Jensen nodded and said, “Thank you, Brother Miles. I don’t have to say, “‘May the Lord bless you,’ I know for certain that He will.”

Out on the sled I felt a warmth that came from deep within and I didn’t even notice the cold. When we had gone a ways, Pa turned to me and said, “Matt, I want you to know something. Your ma and me have been tucking a little money away here and there all year so we could buy that rifle for you, but we didn’t have quite enough.

Then yesterday a man who owed me a little money from years back came by to make things square. Your ma and me were real excited, thinking that now we could get you that rifle, and I started into town this morning to do just that. But on the way I saw little Jakey out scratching in the woodpile with his feet wrapped in those gunnysacks and I knew what I had to do. Son, I spent the money for shoes and a little candy for those children. I hope you understand.”

I understood, and my eyes became wet with tears again. I understood very well, and I was so glad Pa had done it. Now the rifle seemed very low on my list of priorities. Pa had given me a lot more. He had given me the look on Widow Jensen’s face and the radiant smiles of her three children.

For the rest of my life, whenever I saw any of the Jensens, or split a block of wood, I remembered, and remembering brought back that same joy I felt riding home beside Pa that night. Pa had given me much more than a rifle that night; he had given me the best Christmas of my life.

God bless you! Hope you have a Merry Christmas!

              • What America once was… Merry Christmas to all.

                • And still is, just in scattered places..the seeds are there, once the ground is stable again, they can sprout….Merry Christmas to everyone here!

                • This story reminds us, that there are some things they can’t take from us.

              • Thanks Kentucky Mom
I saw this last week year and I am glad you posted it this year.
The wife and I met a woman this year that we bought some chickens from that has gone through more SHTF than anyone should have to go through.
She lost her husband and was raising her kids and a few her husband and her had adopted in order to keep the those kids together. Six months later she lost her daughter and ended up with her 3 kids. Altogether she has 12 kids ages 2 years to 19.
She raises chickens for the eggs and meat and has a dairy cow for the milk and then puts a young bull with her so she can raise him for the meat. She is very independent but she there are some she can’t do. But she never complains.
This year my wife and mother in law knitted hats and scarves for the kids.
Right now I have a big load of firewood loaded on the truck. That is something that is very hard for a woman in her fifties to do especially with all the young ones running around.
My family gave up the commercial side of Christmas a few years ago with only homemade presents being exchanged if at all. These last few Christmasses have been very special.
                Peace all. And god bless.

                • Like Ed, Gene and I ate at a little barbecue place Sunday.
The cook and granddaughter of the place told us her two daughters were recovering well from a car accident a few months before–the life flight bill was $32,000 X 2.
Her youngest had to be homeschooled due to cognitive difficulties now. (not such a bad thing, I know)
Her husband wasn’t doing well after open heart, having complications from the medicines.
She told us she cooks there every day of the year–feeds those with no families to speak of on Christmas and Thanksgiving. Of course they pay, but still??
As I left I realized God gives us these ‘encounters’ to wake the hell up and count our blessings, to realize how blessed and fortunate we are.
Honestly, I am secluded here, no friends, no family, and no church family–BUT, each night I pray to God to send any needing a warm shelter, or a warm meal, or even gas for traveling, etc. to our home. Yeah, we have a little money available as a gift, but not a loan. He has watched over us and blessed us.
Our lives aren’t perfect–far from it–but just observing around us shows how fortunate and blessed we are…more than so many.
So, on this Christmas Eve, feel the love that you are blessed. For whatever the tragedy or hurt, there ARE those out there in much worse situations.

              • Ky Mom, thank you for that beautiful story. Merry Christmas to everyone here, even to the trolls. I don’t know if that would do any good, but we’ll see. MOLON LABE braveheart

              • KY Mom

              • come on really you red thumb downers!

how could anyone give a thumbs down on that story ! And on Christmas to boot!

That story brought tears to my eyes the first time I read it. Sort of sets your priorities straight.

              • Thank you KY Mom for that wonderful, wonderful story. How far our society has fallen (not everyone, but many) from what it once was. I was wondering if you could tell me if you know where this story came from and if it is a true story? I will check back in a couple of days to see if you respond. Thank you!! God Bless !!

                • Deana,

Hi! I don’t know the origins of this story. I received it in an email some years ago.

I am glad you liked it. It is one of my favorites.

                  Take care! God bless you!
                  KY Mom

            • Bless you Canada ….What a great time to remember why we have this season. First our savior sent to redeem us all.
              Second, family.
              Third, it is about acquaintances.
The SHTF community we couldn’t recognize with our eyes, but definitely with our hearts.

Have a safe and fulfilling Christmas.

            • I’m on the east coast CC, and we got the freezing rain/ice pellets from Sat. eve to Mon eve. Lots of tree damage and many without power still, lucky here, we still have power but I have a genset and stored gas in case. (hint: ‘quick-start’ might be the difference between getting the genset started or not).

During the peak of the storm on Sun, I had to drive approx. 100mi to Moncton to pick up my daughter whose flight from Japan was diverted at Toronto, it was the worst drive ever.

All is well here, we have everything we need, and we are grateful for what we have.

              Merry Christmas everyone!
              Michelle

              • YMWW, I also agree, round them up! Merry Christmas to you and yours. braveheart

                • @Braveheart….a ‘special’ CHRISTmas greeting to you today! You contribute so much positive info to the site, and so many of us appreciate people like you and so many others here….I won’t mention all the names, but they know who they are. (: take care, CC.

                  • CC, Merry Christmas to you and yours. Just came on here briefly for any new info. I’m just going around to see family and friends today. Yesterday when I came on I even wished Merry Christmas to the trolls, but I noticed that didn’t do any good with ncjoe. Even on Christmas Eve, he had to come on here with his usual BS. That’s my last time being decent toward any troll. Enjoy your day, CC. braveheart

              • @Michelle_in_NB…Glad to see a fellow ‘Canuk’ on board! Don’t U just lv this site…an abundance of GOOD prepping info….and the people here are full of KNOWLEDGE! I must admit, I don’t post that often but I am ‘addicted’ to the site….got to get my daily ‘fix’

I used to live in Moncton NB years ago, but originally from Truro Nova Scotia…I do miss the Maritimes! Have a wonderful Christmas and glad your daughter got home safely…she will tell you that the TORONTO airport was a nightmare!! take care, CC

              • @Michelle,

Merry Christmas to you and yours. Sorry to hear that the bad weather is deterring your good times a bit but on the plus side sounds like you were ready for it.

        • “We live in a world that is, for those paying attention, completely out of our control.”

And to think we haven’t even seen a global meltdown yet. All of these acts prove when you are boxed into TPTB grid system your life can go from normal to survival within hours.

You can hug a progressive for that way of life where you are beholden to corrupt maniacal central planners. 😉

          • Yes, the progressives push for this in the open, but the so-called conservatives push for it as well, only they do it in the name of safety or morality.

Both sides of the aisle are beholden to the same people, and in case you thought otherwise, it’s not “We the People.”

We have the “Patriot Act” courtesy of the “conservative” president George W Bush, and the incandescent lightbulb ban, courtesy of the same buffoon.

            • Democrats and Republicans are two sides of the same coin. It’s the Crips vs the Bloods, a two party political gang that’s only looking out for themselves with the help of the multinational corporations and the Federal Reserve who give them their power.

And if i’m not mistaken the first US President to push and espouse Progressivism was Woodrow Wilson (R).

              • how eloquent rod. good one!

              • It’s no accident that the rival gang colors are RED and BLUE, for BOTH gangs, that is.

                Merry Christmas…

              • RODSTER: PREZ Woodrow Wilson was a DEM Progressive. Hes who sold out usa to zionist banksters etc. And did the IRS taxes for all folks and hes the prez when us senators began to be voted in by popular vote.

Senators are supposed to be apinted By State congress to represent their own state. Thats why there are Two senators per state. Equal state representation.

ever since prez wilson it got switched to popular votes. That was a direct Hit By Design against 10th amendt state rights!….Today they all answer to AIPAC and ADL and SPLC mainly…And of course netanyahoo!

        • Facebook I dont know why you say were running out of things to bitch about (your words not mine). Seems most of us feel the walls are closing in on us. This piece is a perfect example of how an evil force can work against us and time it all for a max effect. Its obvious this was a planned attack but its also obvious this was planned to disrupt our holiday buying because it was timed correctly. Whats curious is if this was a direct hit to Target or were they just easiest to break. Or was it a test run for a bigger breakdown later, like one thatll bring down the financial systems and then the money all disappears. To me thats the easiest way to wipe the system and begin new again – a 9/11 against our banks. Think about it will the people be upset and once again depend on the govt to rescue us.

Now what I want to know is whether all of us preppers were prepped for the holidays or not. If we had cash or had our Christmax shopping done, were not effected. Fess up at the shtf confessional forum today.

          • Calgacus.

Christmas shopping done. Did get hit by the Target Grinch for a few hundred dollars but it is being fixed and canceled cards.

How many beers do I have to drink for my Penance, Father Calgacus?

            • Slingshot…as many as necessary.

You are a sovereign man. You will make your own decision as to how many…and pay for your indiscretion should you have too many.

Just another lesson learned. Many moons ago,I used to have these indiscretions all night long and go to work, be productive no problem.

Being a sovereign man and much older now, I have learned that discretion is the place to be.

Merry Christmas to you and all here a “the plan.”

“don’t go down without one helluva fight”

              • Lastmanstanding.

It is better to ask for forgiveness, than to ask for permission. ;0)

            • A mere slip, my son Slingshot. There is no penance for such a slight but use caution in the future. The next time may be worse and there will be Hail Obama penance you will not appreciate. Stray not and go with God, seek not the evil of the darkest one who betrays.

        • FaceBook Page.

As I read you, we are running out of time and that we will still complain about the collapse because it will not go as we expect it to go.
          Murphy’s Law, Facebook Page.

        • Sounds like you are getting well…

Don’t worry, when it comes, you won’t be able to complain…

        • Want to hear a No Brainer. They say most counterfeiting is now State sponsored. And since China is one of the biggest sponsors of counterfiting US Bills, It would only seem right to use these same Bills to pay off our debt. Trekker Out.

        • Tis the season to be jarry, fa ra ra ra rah, rah rah rah… 🙂 Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!!!!

        • Actually I wonder if they are not getting the sheeple ready for some kind of implant device that does all of your financial transactions, drivers license, voter registration (tracking etc.) The groundwork is being laid that you can not trust the security of your credit cards and other information from hackers etc. Most likely voluntary at first, then cash will be squeezed out, then you can see it getting more and more restrictive

        • What???

      2. There truly nothing left to talk about.

        • Go to bed ‘Page. Things will take on a better perspective in the morning. Good night everyone!

        • And yet here you are talking about nothing.

        • @Facebook Page

The fraud of “Central Banking” is THE one thing we should be talking about!

It’s the ONE thing enabling the State, it’s control freaks, and it’s crimes!

Fractional reserve banking is a fraud. It inflates the money supply, and it creates the boom-bust cycle!

“Central Banking” transfers planning authority to government bureaucrats who only have an indirect stake in the outcome of their decisions.

This is the basis of our economy.

The booms and busts get worse, the dollar depreciates, and central planning (fascism in our case) expands.

This will end badly. Worse, it may start over again.

          Lets talk about it!!!

It’s time to End The Fed!

          • Welcome to the PRIDE

          • Yo Mama: Unfortunately you continue to expose your ignorance; and I see a few fool’s believe you. You said:

““Central Banking” transfers planning authority to government bureaucrats who only have an indirect stake in the outcome of their decisions…..”

If only OUR central bankers were government bureaucrats. Then WE could demand accountability and transparency for their actions under current laws. Sadly, they are not.

OUR central bankers are a cabal of private bankers; parasites at the public trough, and have a DIRECT stake in the actions they take.

WRONG AGAIN! LMAO!!! Merry Christmas, Dumbshit!!! 🙂

            • The durango kidd says:

“If only OUR central bankers were government bureaucrats. Then WE could demand accountability and transparency for their actions under current laws. Sadly, they are not.”

The banksters are the GOVERNMENT… Fool!!!

Congress has the ability to reign in/End the Fed, yet they do neither!!!

Q: Tell me DK… why does Congress not excersise it’s constitutional authority to coin money, but yet let a “private banking cabal” do so?

A: The banksters OWN this country. They buy off the pols!!!

“Hello? Hello? Anybody home? Huh? Think, McFly. Think!”

              You support this system.

You are Fascist scum to be opposed!

              I see you!

              • The durango kidd says:

“OUR central bankers are a cabal of private bankers; parasites at the public trough, and have a DIRECT stake in the actions they take.

AND YET YOU SUPPORT “CENTRAL BANKING.”

                WTF???

                You contradict yourself!!!

                WTF???

                • Yo Mama: Contradict myself? Not at all. The Federal Reserve is OUR “central banking”; but central banking need not be the Federal Reserve.

You and many more here need to understand that distinction, (although it wouldn’t make much difference to an Anarchist if you did).

                  Happy New Year! 🙂

            • The durango kidd says:

“WRONG AGAIN! LMAO!!! Merry Christmas, Dumbshit!!!

              Merry Christmas DK.

        • Facebook…get the fuck off those big pharma meds and go eat a good hamburger and fries. Pull out all your firearms, tear’em down, clean’em, tell’em you love’em.

Take one…that won’t hurt your cranky ass either.

Take the rest of the year off and then come back and help us fight the battle on 2014.

Time to be thankful for what we all got regardless of the lie we have been living.

Thank God for the fact that we are all here for a reason.

        • Penance is due from you.
You must read each story and link provided by your favorite KY Mom.
If you have not been forgiven youll be assigned the Facebook Page 404 error.

        • FBP, Merry Christmas to you, regardless of any differences we’ve had in the past. braveheart

      3. Completely off topic, I just want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas! Be safe!!
        Standing ready in Daytona

      4. Sorry Mac, I disagree. I believe this had nothing to do with bringing down our economy and everything to do with GREED. Nationality, race, gender — doesn’t matter. Economic landscape? Not interested. These people are greedy — get something for nothing — CRIME by any other name.

Just a few Public Executions is all we really need. HBO brings you…The Running Politician!

      5. I really haven’t seen much on here about the Target incident. Talk about a false flag. First we use cash, and then we go to checks because they are so much safer, then we go to credit and debit cards cards, cause man how much more convenient and safe can things get, and then bang along comes Target and thousands and thousands of people are compromised. We got these pesky strips on our cards and much of the modern world, like Europe, has chips in their cards. They say these chips in the card are the cats meow, only way they can be tampered with is if there lost or stolen. Wonder what we could to prevent that from happening. Anybody got any Ideas? Trekker Out. Chips Anyone!

        • You got it Mountain trekker its planned that way. How better to raid the insurance compaies and regular people than an easy set up. Like takin candy from a baby. This country is so damn corrupt and we keep it going that way.

        • Chip cards are the new standard up here all bank (we use our bank cards as debit cards thought the Interaction/Cirrus, etc networks) cards and “permanent” credit cards, with gift cards and prepaid credit cards still using only the magnetic stripe.

Yes, still gotta plug in a PIN to buy stuff with that technology, unless you activate a feature available with some banks allowing minor charges to be rung through by tapping your card to a special pad. The chip itself, as I am given to understand, is basically like a SIM card that will only respond to the right encrypted ping.

          • An expert was talking about this on Fox. He was cyber czar for Bush 43, and part of Obama. He says he told them that the magnetic strip system has been outdated by at least 15 years, but no one would listen. I think this was a test to see how people would react to restricted access to their cash. After all only debit cards were limited.

        • Totally agree with the False Flag. More like False Flag in a bag. Retail sales are probably crapola.

They need something to blame crap sales on other than the true fact that no one has any money. 25% real unemployment, And, for those still receiving unemployment, no one knows if long term unemployment is going to get funded by the government, so, most likely, the masses are probably holding back.

Plus, i figured that there would be a huge short interest in the discretionary retail sales, but looking at the Puts and Calls for those companies that comprise that sector, I can’t really tell. Even Target (TGT) Jan 14th puts are nothing special to look at. That in itself tells me that something is going on.

        • Of course the govt will provide the DIP (Dis-information Protocol) for those chips

        • MT, I’ll take potato chips, corn chips, tortilla chips; but NO ELECTONIC CHIPS! MOLON LABE braveheart

          • that should have read ELECTRONIC. I was typing too fast.

      6. Another litmus test, there are NO HACKERS, just like there are NO TERRORIST, except for the corrupt governments. More conditioning to prepare for the big bank bail ins!

        • I know you’re right.

      7. Having worked in IT for some 16 years. I blame the CEO. All too often the CTO rides back seat to the know-it-all CEO. Some laws should be written to hammer the slimeballs.

Been too many jobs where non technical people were making the call. Why I hate IT now and have pretty much left it.

My last job had 3 layers of Human resources in the form of different agencies. All getting a full 40 with medical, dental, and vacations. We techs got paid hourly and nothing more. And even that wasn’t stable.

Disgruntled techs migrating data. You get what you pay for.

        • Laws to rein in and if necessary come down hard on high-powered executive? Not going to happen. First, how many politicians’ seats have been bought and paid for by corporations on your side of the border (the problem here is mitigated by the fact any entity -person or corporation- can only donate a whopping 1100$ in election donations)? These guys are the ones who put politicians in their seats, they’re not going to tell their “investment” in State Capitols or on Capitol Hill to come up with way to hamstring them. In fact they would be more likely to push for laws making them immune from petty concerns like the laws of the people.

But I see what you’re saying about disgruntled employees with access. Many a time in history it was “little people” with a grievance who made things unpleasant for those in power. And it would take only one IT guy who’s had enough to go in and, at the low end, change all of the passwords and lock down the system to all but himself or grant himself root access, go in and do some real damage by altering things or selling information to the competition.

        • Sort of like Lowe’s two personnel employees calling in people for interviews.
There were NO jobs or openings; they just needed to look busy to secure theirs.

      8. Nothing to see here sheeple, keep moving… The reality is this happened to me just last week. Transferred to Korea a couple of months ago and used my card daily. Last week, the bank killed it. Seen suspicious activity (PX and commissary) It was turned back on this time…
What if it had not been? Separated from my cash and liquid assets. What if I had an emergency and needed to fly back to the states? Almost impossible without a credit or debit card. For those thinking I have something to learn, I have been traveling the world for almost 4 decades so of course I have the cash and PM to ensure I can get back to the homeland when the SHTF. Now, it may be a long, long walk to my BOL…
I completely agree with all those saying it can happen with one click of the the “enter” button.” With one click, you can lose your cash, you can lose you identity, you can loose your credit and in some cases, real property. What’s even worse, no matter how successful you are, you are one click away from hitting rock bottom…. Just ask the irresponsible young lady who posted something foolish (Aids in Africa). No, none of us are immune.
There are a million “what-if” scenarios out there, if you haven’t already gone through half of them in your mind, you’re wrong…

        SECOND TO NONE.

        • I also had that problem here in the ROK!
The people I work with had similar issues. I thought WTF!
          Anyway, Merry Christmas

          • God bless and keep you both safe. One of the best Christmas’ I ever had was the one in Vietnam. The moonlight made the sand of Red Beach look white like snow, and the little party WE had was illuminated by red, green, and white tracers. 🙂

            • DK, Merry Christmas to you and yours. sorry about any differences we’ve had. braveheart

              • Braveheart: No harm; no foul. Happy New Year! 🙂

      9. Merry Christmas one and all! Research mesh networks.

      10. Hit the “kill switch”, Barry.

Never happen. If you were in charge would you really want over 200 million nitwits to actually have to face reality. The internet (twitter, facebook, et.al) is the best propaganda/false flag generating device ever invented.

Keep em’ stupid and tweeting while you steal the nation. Great.

        • Not to mention the losses to the cell phone companies.

Gee, maybe there would be a real decrease in EMF carrier waves. Less cancer, anyone?

      11. “A war with a foreign power, a rogue terrorist attack,…”

The new terrorists live in the Arctic. Chuck Hagel predicts there will be military conflict over the oil and gas resources in the Arctic.

I guess Santa and Mrs. Claus are the new Al Queda of the North. There will be an elf with an AK 47 (Rest in peace Kalishnikov) and an RPG behind every ice berg.

The new “War on Christmas” is coming. Enjoy this Christmas. Delivery from the South Pole next year will be slower.

        • War on Christmas may ass. You have the freedom to call it what you want and others have the freedom to call it what they want. Just because someone else exercises the freedom to not call this pagan holiday Christmas does not constitute a war, it is merely a person exercises his/her freedom. It sounds as if you would prefer big gubment require force people to use your nomenclature for this useless holiday. How does that square with this site’s proclamation that is stands for freedom and liberty? Just another hypocrite. BTW, the mythological character, Jesus, is not the reason for the reason. The real reason for the season is to get people to further indebt themselves and not needed crap so Wal-Mart and like retailers can sell more Chinese-made junk.

          • Funny how your definition of liberty means restricting the rights of others to exercise theirs.

Go away you hypocritical leftist troll.

By the way….the phrase the angels allegedly said was “..and on earth, peace, good will toward men” is unfortunately, mistranslated.

It should read, “…and on earth, peace toward men with whom God is pleased.”

And by your continued venomous attacks on people on this site, you clearly demonstrate you ain’t one of those.

So…bugger off and get back to your bridge. This site would be better off without you.

            • Personally Walt, I enjoy disparate, dissenting views. The site would be dull without them. Even yours! Have a great Holiday Walt.

Merry Christmas! HO! Ho! Ho! 🙂

          • NC Joker. Looks like youve got a sad and lonely week ahead of yourself. You are fortunate to live in a country that gives you the choice of religious celebration or misery. Its okay w/ me if you choose misery but I choose to follow the Lord and the beauty of God and all that He offers to us. The bounty is neverending, and the tests of our faith is neverending, but the faith and the belief keep my spirit alive and fresh and ready for renewal and happiness day after day.

The war being waged against Christians becomes its ugliest during the Christmas season because the joy is profound. Our joy will probably never be less than any joy that comes from your celebration of a solstice or a pagan holiday like Halloween. We dont try to destroy your days of celebration do we.

We dont all go into debt for gift giving. We dont all give gifts either. Some people shop for “chinese made junk” as you say but many dont.

You sure are angry at the world. If you believed in God that anger would go away. Its Christmas. Maybe its time to heal yourself and go with God. Its the gift that keeps giving and you dont buy something this priceless.

            Merry Christmas NCJoe.

          • ncjoe, I’ll agree with the last sentence of your post about Christmas being overly commercialized, but I have to call BS on the rest of it. Regardless, Merry Christmas to you and yours. braveheart

          • Joe I rarely agree with you. a far a I can tell we still have freedom of religion. that’s a very good thing. We also have freedom from religion. that a much better thing. The problem I have is anyone who wants the proclaim that the USA is a Christian nation. We don’t have a national religion any more than we have a national language. It becomes a problem when any religious group wants state sponsored religion. You know things like prayer in public school, the ten commandments posted in public places. a nativity scene on the courthouse lawn. those things violate separation of church & state. Co mingling religious superstition & government always stifles all freedom.

          • Joe, nice of you to get up early and insult the folks wishing each other a merry Christmas, it’s much appreciated. Trolling behavior is so warm and considerate, you know.

Also nice of you to say there is no war on Christmas, using foul language, and then rant about pagan holidays and mythological characters, such as Jesus Christ.

Your own personal little war on Christmas is a pathetic joke.

Enjoy your day off today, hypocrite. Are you going to get drunk, or get stoned, since you have no other reason to celebrate the day today?

Merry Christmas to you and yours, like it or not.

            • My lad finished up his science units this term by producing home made soap for his closest friends. They are ALL hand stamped with “Happy Xmas” and the recipients include several Muslims and a Buddhist family.

Everyone who got a bar accepted gracefully his statement that this is the season when Christians use the custom of gift giving as a way of giving thanks to those whom they appreciate. All accepted their gifts with grace.

No consumerism there my friend. Just a kid learning both a useful prepping skill and trying to live what his Sunday school lessons & the good book are trying to teach him.

I was discussing the other day how the story of Christmas helps even non-Christians remember that EVERY newborn is a gift from God (my Somali ex-neighbour would say Allah) and that EVERY child born deserves a life free from the ravages of war, MTV/school indoctrination, starvation, humiliation, and abuse or neglect in any form. Consumerism has robbed us of the inner spiritual fortification this season should bring us to face the year ahead.

The sheer preciousness of human life is so easily forgotten in this pro-abortion,perverted culture we now reside in. Sometimes we need to remember that people are MORE than unit cost codes of the elite. We need to remember humanity has an amazing, wondrous potential that soars, far ,far above the day to day ugliness of so many situations.

Please don’t disrespect those who wish to share seasons greetings NC Joe. Go watch some Miley Cyrus videos with your ugly troll siblings instead and leave those of us who are working towards a better outcome for humanity the hell alone.

          • ncjoe, I take back the ‘Merry Christmas’ greeting I gave you yesterday. being decent toward you didn’t do any good. You just had to come on here on CHRISTMAS EVE with your usual BS. So go f@#$ yourself!

          • NC.
I have to disagree with you, there is a war on Christmas.
All 4 of my grandkids schools dropped all Christmas programs this year. The reason they gave was it might offend someone.
Do I believe that Christ was born on DEC. 25 no I do not, but that is ok I still enjoy the season. (Shepherds would not have there sheep in the fields in the middle of winter)i’m not sure about the tax collection time frame for Josheph and his clan. It does not make a differents to me what day he was born on.
If people do not want to take part in it so be it, but don’t try to stop or hinder me in having a fun in this time of the year.
You do not have the right to tell me that it is not Christmas.
And I do not have the right to make you celebrate the season.
So a little advice live and let live it works better that way.
Merry Christmas anyway or if you like happy holidays.
            N.R.

        • No, there won’t be a war over Arctic resources because the Arctic isn’t melting.

      12. LOL…sabotage the US ecconomy…LOL Like we need any help doing that, kinda like making a bolt after the horse ran out the barn. Oh this is just comical anymore Merry Christmas everyone.

      13. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate the commercial holiday.

Happy birthday to the Son of God for those who celebrate the religious holiday.

      14. I want to send a heartfelt greetings from Louisiana and a wish for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to Mac, BI, BH, POG, KF, KM, SP, JOG, SS, Sigi, Satori, Hunter, Tactical, FBP, MT, and all of you my friends and fellow-preppers and patriots at this site. May God Bless You and your families, may He watch over you in the days and nights to come, may His holy angels keep guard over you and your loved ones as we enter a New Year. You have taught me a lot and given me a lot to think about. Let the Joy of the Lord be your Strength! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Louisina Eagle

        • La-eagle.

..and the best blessings/Merry Christmas to you and yours!

        • laeagle, Merry Christmas to you and yours. Hope you’re enjoying the day. braveheart

      15. Those who paid by cash or check weren’t affected by the hacking. Unfortunately we are moving towards a cashless society. We will see more hacking/cyber attacks going forward. Our government will step in for our “well being and safety” with a ” kill switch”. If there is no more cash, we put ourselves at risk of being controlled

        • yea, tom , i worry about going “cashless” too.
I can just imagine how the flow of money would be manipulated .
          And speaking of manipulation…….
Its the end of the year and as people celebrate christmas and the new year, its also time for the kenyan socialist to issue an unconstitutional EO will we sleep.
What will it be this year?

          • oops, forgot to log-in

        • I used cash for most of my shopping this year. Clerks thought it was crazy for not getting a discount for opening a new card at their respective store. Chiming in “You can go up to the counter and pay for it when you leave my register”. No thank you.

          Merry Christmas SHTF Friends!

        • Tom…think about the hackings in a good way…perhaps someone is doing it to wake people up that “the card” is very corruptible…lots of sheep shop at target. Sheep need lessons and some will wake up.

The commies like the cloward-piven strategy of destruction from within.

That fucked up game can be played 2 ways.

Looking at all the possibilities gives one hope…having faith in God, the earth and that there are good folks out there fighting back also helps.

“is the glass half empty, or half full”

          • i submit to you the glass is twice as big as it NEEDS to be

            • Merry Christmas!

        • Tom can you say black market? There is a way around anything you just have to find it.

      16. Yes we are the the victims of ourselves!
How many of you use cash?
I use cash any time I am able.
I carry several hundred dollars of cash in my pocket everyday.
It gives me piece of me mind as compared to only credit and debit cards!
Even though cash is virtually worthless as fiat trash…people still take it happily!!
TPTB HATE CASH WITH A PASSION!!!
What better way to hit the “MAN” than cash…no trail!!
No better way to “put it to the man” than using cash!
        Merry Christmas

      17. Stay off the social sites,Don’t bank online and minimize any charging you do or just go cash.

        • jim , aint this a social site ?
seems pretty social to me !
          merry christmas

      18. Like any other PREP money can’t be kept all in one LOCATION some in the bank some – some at home – some silver down under the tree roots. Just leave the city now while you still have time = GO NOW!

      19. Merry Christmas to my SHTF family.

I am still trying to figure out why when this whole Target thing was rolled out the Secret Service was taking the lead in the investigation.

Not what the Secret Service is for. I think there is more to this than meets the eye. Probably more lies and deceit being spewed by our government or even a test run for a large false flag. I am and remain convinced that Obama will do something in the remainder of his term to cause him to declare Marshall Law and thus remain in office and have full reign to trample what is left of the constitution.

        BigB

        • From the Secret Service website, that sort of thing falls under their mandate. That particular agency started its life investigating counterfeiting operations and has since evolved to look into all kinds of financial crimes.

          • Absolutely correct…anything treasury related.

An interesting movie to watch is “To Live and Die in LA”. 1983 with Wilhem Dafoe, John Pankow and William Peterson. Highly recommended.

What do the guy printing fake money and the fed have in common?

Money printed out of thin air backed by nothing.

The bankers/corps don’t like any competition in any market.

All playing out on the world stage right under our very noses.

Please…give thanks to God everyday and “don’t…

            • (if I may LSM)

              …go down w/o a hell-of-a-fight!!!!

              Cheers!

          • Of course they have. I mean who else would cover it? FBI, CIA, blaH letter letter etc. Just can’t stick to the counterfeiting and guarding the President. Still say since this is the first time I have seen them involved with an obvious, I hope, credit card theft that there is more to this than meets the eye.

I think you’re right, per the enemy scheming/lusting for a system wide lock-down drama.
Their problems are LOGISTICS & our belief/intent that RESISTANCE, will come from the muzzle of our weapons.

In the past, LSM(standing warrior) and Net Ranger have given the very best definition of the “SOVEREIGN MAN” concept.
In today’s political/social/economic climate, every true American should take said concept to heart.

        • @BigB….Merry Christmas to you and yours. Also to JOG(if he’s able to see this) We ALL miss you…keep safe and take care, CC.

      20. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us… Have a Blessed CHRISTmas

        • To make the mass (red stone) you need christ.

Christ -mass is the art of alchemy.

The bible is a secret told under the veil of deniable plausability.

          • Meaning…………..

The bibles Truth provides the cover for the hidden message.

The hidden message can be denied by those wishing to conceal the truth by thev truth that is the bible.

      21. What happened with Target is a reminder that the whole banking system will most likely go down with no warning. Possibly as a prelude to bail ins or martial law. It should be a reminder to everyone to make sure you stay fully prepared. We have the habit of going into our preps for things and sometimes I don’t restock right away.

      22. Just another test…
Looks like March or April for the main event…

      23. Why didn’t the NSA see this and stop it isn’t that what they have been saying the spying is for.
It seems to me that they could identify the servers associated with this and shut them down. Instead chase bank is stopping transactions just a few months after halting cash transfers overseas. There’s more to this than a hack attack. Peace.

        • On a related topic….

There’s a computer virus out there now that, once it infects your computer, encrypts the majority of your data, then causes a screen to pop up informing you that you have something like 72 hours to deposit “X” amount of dollars into some remote online account. Once you have done that, they provide the “key” to unlock your data. If you fail to do it, the “key” is destroyed and you can NEVER get your data.

The virus is called “crypto-locker”….and folks it’s for real.

What I find amazing is…..they can find some goat-herder in Sudan or Yemen and have a drone send a missile through the front door of his tent. But they can’t figure out who is doing this. And they are spending billions of dollars to climb up the backside of Tea Party people with a microscope. But these “criminals” are operating with apparently no repercussions.

Doesn’t that smell “funny” to any of you?

          • WK , I see it the same way. There is no det
erant for cyber crimes so they continue. Make the penalties harsh and they will stop. You have a greater chance at getting away with a cybercrime than speeding.

            • Not to mention that if you are a good enough cyber-criminal and get caught, there is a six-figure job in it for you instead of jail time.

              • Ain’t that the truth.

          • Just more of the obvious, the enemy is inside the gates.

          • whenever they catch these muffin huggers they ought to…..wellll let me think on this for a minute. how’bout
we remove their spleens with an oyster knife
pull all their teeth out with only a rusty spoon for tools
shove a porcupine up their ass
drown them in a barrel of pig snot
make them drink a gallon of tea made from a crusty old tampon worn by pelosi
            give’em a manicure with a chainsaw
gulp every last pill in michael jackson’s medicine cabinet
make ’em drink a Dr Pepper
sit hillary on their face and take a rosebush to their ass….well, you get the idea i hope….i don’t like effen thieves! i know none of these ideas are quite good enough, but maybe you guys got some suggestions? anywayz, merry christmas and happy honicker, and whatever else you like to celebrate! and oh yeah…keep smilin’, cause it’s almost OVER!…although i’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

          • ***What I find amazing is…..they can find some goat-herder in Sudan or Yemen and have a drone send a missile through the front door of his tent***
            Or a wedding party…pffft.

          • Per MSM “payment is required using the bit ion service. Bitcoin transfers are encrypted, so this is the perfect crime. No one can trace the transactions.” I call bullshit. I would bet this is CIA, NSA, DOD getting funding for agents in covert ops. Or maybe Mossad? Point it it could be anyone, and I believe they could figure it out if they really wanted to.

      24. Merry Christmas everyone.

        • ..and to you Newbee!!

      25. I am looking forward to 2014 and whatever comes my way.
You can only do so much according to your capabilities, space and finances. There have been plenty of warnings and so you should by now be in some sort of readiness.
Should they turn off the lights and all that, it is the adjustment to overcoming these hardships that is the trick. Withdrawal from T.V., cell phones, X Box and texting. I will miss this site if they shut the internet down. I will be doing other things if it happens. No more reading needed. Just Action.

        • sling- I have the same sence of urgency, scary huh?
I sure hope for better days ahead and i hope that we are all just scarin the shit outta eachother here .
          But i doubt it .

        • We need to come up with a shtf handshake or something in case we run into one another some fateful day.

My bet is that we will all recognize each other when the time is right.

          One day at a time.

          • We will be old and have short white hair. A beard and moustache. A camo baseball cap and wearing BDU’s. Drive a dirty truck with plenty of dings in it. All sorts of stuff in the bed of the truck. Cooler with Beer. Smoke’s in shirt pocket with Zippo lighter. Knife on hip.

            • @slingshot-good description of many readers here but some of us are female with no beards. Other than that I have many of those SHTFer signs!

              • awesome Texan…my better half looks hot in her pickup…and she kicks ass as well.

                • @lastmanstanding: Pickup is a must have for a Texan. We even have a 75 Chevy with zero electronic anything on it and when you look under the hood, you can see a lot of ground instead of a maze of gizmos and other junk. May come in handy one day.

                  • I miss old trucks, they worked.

            • You can recognize me if you see me. 6’6″ 240 muscular, cowboy boots, black under armor hat, and driving a red f-250 with dings. Nice manners with a hard glare. I’ll be around.

              • @ faith of the fallen

I know what I will be dreaming about tonight and it ain’t Santa.

            • don’t fergit yer gun and body armor slingshot!

              • Sshhhhhhhh.

They are in the diamond plate toolbox.

            • well… how bout a rusty truck covered in 15 years of dirt , i will be wearing chore boots and have an unmistakable “cow” smell.
LOL , i just cant scrub it off !
But i do have a camo cap and a cooler ,its the two foot of snow packed around the round bale in the back of the truck. see ya there!HAHAHA

            • …and a .30 cal BAR mounted on the roof.

            • Well… what about those who use…ahhem…”JFM”…
              I don’t but I’m sure someone here does…fess up…
              🙂

            • ive got the beard and moustache. my head is bald . however I have plenty of back and chest hair. My truck fits the bill. I don’t smoke tobacco. you forgot the guns and the ever present dog.

              • OK, I will play along. I am 5’8″ about 185 lb, I drive a beat up 94 Ford Ranger, I had a full beard which I just shaved off and a black eye currently because I recently got in a fight with a man that was 6’4″. I busted his nose and twisted his knee. I am polite often but can turn on a dime and I can be extremely nasty and ornery.

      26. On the news yesterday, it was reported that Chase bank had lifted the $100.00 restriction. Chase Band of Thieves was indifferent towards their customers. But still, who wanted to disrupt Christmas for millions like this? Many of the customers interviewed by the media reported that they would pay by cash now at target.
Which is a subject discussed on many blogs to include this one. This incident confirms the need to have cash on hand.
Another reason to take some alternate news sites seriously
        in regard to coming changes.

If you had doubts before, this incident should erase those. About five years ago in North Korea, without warning, The Government changed the currency and all the savings and money were nearly worthless and many families who had savings complained they lost everything.

In the new year I know we all post our thoughts and opinions on certain issues. But I believe we really need to reach out to each other with realistic helpful information more than ever because it is getting to get serious and we need each other. Many who come here have expert knowledge in different fields.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

        • how the hell are they gonna pay cash for ANYTHING?….they are all in debt up to their….well, i was gonna say asses, but WAY over the tops of their heads(as in drowning) would be more like it!

        • Hello WaW, In regards to sharing information, I would like to see a sharing of locally observed happenings which are out of the ordinary. People, events and equipment not normally seen in your area.

As we all know the internet can be shut down quickly so put info out there quickly. Consider even the HAM radio option. ANY advance warnings will be inportant!

Thanks for all you are doing now.

          • Ok I saw something. Media said obama flew to hawaii on friday. Thursday afternoon I was hanging clothes on line. Heard planes in the sky. 4 large planes were escorting a large airliner. Guess who that was? Bet it was the man leaving a day early, crossing hwy 20 between bend and burns east of the cascades. Does he cross canada them fly east of cascades down to sf?

          • Montana Mike-

One thing I’ve picked up on here in the Southeast, is quite a few National Guard/Reserve depots appear “FULL” of various equipment/vehicles.
At least more so, than in years past.

Anybody else see anything similar in their AO?

            • i suspect they are full of vehicles and equipment because the war in iraq and afghanistan is mostly over? they been kickin’ out troops by the thousands, so there’s bound to be equipment left over.

on a side note i heard a story about the local dump(near 2 military bases) getting DUMPTRUCK loads of body armor and MRE’s and other stuff….seems like they’re dumping it at a furious pace….what a bunch of wasteful bass-turds!

              • I used try to buy government surplus. I won the bid on very few items. I still have my D.O.D. bidder number. After any war winds down there is a abundance of surplus at the various bases. Scrap prices are so high at present that there wont be many bargains for poor boys like me. Its almost impossible to out bid the jew scrap man.

          • OK, Merry Christmas

In my area you see a lot of military air activity because within 100 mile radius is are five military bases.

I will say of two incidents within the past several years.

One included a large amount of chem spraying. I was visiting my mother and we were sitting on her back deck and we observed a C-5 Galaxy Transport flying through one of the Chem trails and behind it was some sort of circular object that seemed to be bouncing about. I assumed that it was tethered to the air plane and was some sort of testing device.

We see much chem traals here as some of you do.

The second incident occurred again while I was at my mom’s house and we, again on her back deck and the sky was beautifully blue, cloudless and we saw a plane above the nearby city, spray in 45 degree arc, a chemical and we watched it disperse.

Also, we see a 767 white, no markings, aircraft conducting touch ‘n’ goes at time as well as Air force 1.

            God bless America.

      27. Hammerhead.

When people realize that it is not going to be the same again is what I want to see. Where they have to be accountable for themselves. No more free rides. I want them to know they have been LIED to by many in positions of Trust and Power. Do not get caught up in the frenzy to quickly enact revenge for they will never see the underlying ramifications of their actions.

        • people have to realize what they have before they even notice they dont have it anymore.
there is no difference if you have always had yer handout. Most will never understand what happened , and i doubt they will miss the US when it was free , because if ya got yer handout you are already a slave.

Did that make ANY sence ?

          • @Hammerhead,

It does to me. I don’t how know it can be said any clearer. When all but a few are standing on the backs of the minority that feeds them there can be no change. UNTIL
the minority who have the means to correct the situation take matters into there own hands. Being one of those whose back the majority are standing on and with the means I can tell you my back is very sore and I need some relief in the very near future.

      29. A few days ago, someone mentioned getting back to prepping. While this list was posted from a link a long time ago, it may be a good place to look and see where you have holes in your preps. starting about halfway down the page is a good list.

        • excellent link drifter. my ultimate list is a LITTLE shorter, but this one goes into SERIOUS detail. copy and paste it to an email to yerselves peeps! you WILL need it soon.

          • It IS an excellent list, and the OP was only 14 years old!! Phenomenal! Apparently his parents have taught him well… 🙂

      30. So how is this any real news? we all know this already!! I guess the scare tactics to keep the readers are going strong!!

        • you aint the only one reads this blog anom…..new people sign up EVERY DAY, hungry for information……sounds like you know everything already, so whatch doin’ here?

      31. Merry Christmas Everyone! from Melbourne, Australia.

        • @jamestheoz, merry christmas from Brisbane.

      32. 90% of the worlds population live in the Northern Hemisphere. The radiation from the Fukashima debacle will saturate the entire Northern Hemisphere probably within the next couple years. The Northern Hemisphere will probably be totally uninhabitable within the next five to ten years. Fukashima was an extinction level event people, and all you are worried about is the fucking banks?!! Or the Chinese? or the Russians? As far as I’m concerned, when the radiation levels begin to noticeably increase in my area and all across America, and people realize they are gonna die, not of old age, but of some horrible form of cancer due to radiation from Fukashima, and they don’t have any insurance other than Obamacare and the banks start fucking with people, and the government starts fucking with people, all bets are off. They all will die just like the rest of us. So, how can anyone but a complete jackass of a fool think that a bunch of dying shit asses can threaten another group of dying fools and get away with it? That should get quite interesting. Just saying.

        • But…but…CNN just did that documentary (Pandora’s Box) that said nuke isotopes are good for you. And…and…the FDA and the EPA keep raising danger levels so now 1500 rads is like a banana. Plus, when we start glowing it will reduce the light bill. Win/win, come on Pacific Plume, bring it.

          • Nice. But won’t the fluoride and GMO’s offset the radiation? Why else would they give us that crap?

        • ….just a thought that has passed though my pea brain…
Would Potus spend time in Hawaii if Fukishima fallout was an issue? I wonder if advance teams check for this. Is it a calculated risk?
          Just thinking….

          • maybe that PROVES obama’s to stupid to not drink his OWN kool-aide? nawww, he CAN’T be that stupid….can he? ohhh, i get it. he’s thinkin’ ahead to the trial for his impeachment so he can use that as an excuse how…..wait for it……
THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION WAS COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF WHAT THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION WAS DOING!!

HELL. WE GOT RADIATION RIGHT now ON A BEACH NEAR SAN FRAN! google it.

        • someone’s saying lately we should evacuate to the southern hemisphere when fukushima blows up…like this is going to be contained to the northern hemisphere….with 5 million seabirds dead on new zealand/australia shores what makes them think it could be only northern hemi.?

      33. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I put NOTHING past the NSA.

What better false-flag could there be?

You’ve got a lot of entities you came blame it on….Russian Mafia….Russian government….China….Al CIAda..

Compromise the economic infrastructure. Blame it on any of the above, and you have the perfect excuse for shutting the whole thing down and having a bank holiday while you push the reset button.

Want to restrict travel? What better way? Who keeps enough cash around anymore to take care of themselves for more than a day or two? Oh…some of us do. But the general population does not. How many never really see their paychecks? They are setup on automatic deposit…goes right into their bank account. But what if you can’t access that bank account? What if one day they just say, “ALL of our data has been compromised and we have to sort it all out. You have NO access to your money until we do. Sorry. Sucks to be you.”?

Again…..yes….this could simply be the work of criminal hackers.

On the other hand….it could also be the first steps in the globalists plan to bring it all down….on THEIR terms and timetable.

      34. Return to writing checks, and fill it out completely. Don’t give in to the temptation to simply hand over a blank check at retailers who electronically process check payments at the time of sale. Store securely your blank check supply.

A credit card purchase is simply an unsecured short term loan, due in 30 days or pay compounding high interest rates on the balance. It is for fools or those who cannot manage their money responsibly.

A debit card is simply hackable electronic access to all funds in your checking account. It is for even greater fools and even more irresponsible people.

Yes, boys and girls, writing checks and balancing your checking account once per month is time consuming but that’s part of what being a big boy or a big girl means. You want the privileges of being an adult? Then you also must accept the responsibilities, or there is going to be someone somewhere ready and willing to bilk you out of your money, through electronic hacking or otherwise.

Off topic: News report that the U.S. military has “equal opportunity” staff, one of which directed soliders at a U.S. base not to use the word “Christmas” and instead to replace it with the word “holiday.”

A military — any military — exists for only two purposes: (1) to kill people, and (2) to break things. Since when does OUR military have things called “equal opportunity” staff??? Being in the military is not the equivalent of a civilian job or career. Being in the military is about giving and obeying orders that in one way or another are directly connected to the two purposes for the military to exist. I worry for the safety of our nation if our military has been diluted, pacified, twisted and compromised to such a degree.

        • Anonymous-

Ever hear of an outfit named DEOMI? Google it!

Its commissars infect all aspects of the US military, in one guise or another!

..reduced to its base, its nothing more than a branch-office of the “FRANKFORT SCHOOL” (see Franz Boaz also), whose curriculum is solely based upon the destruction of Western Civilizations core foundations…before the alters of diversity worship, multiculturalism and (now) homosexual propaganda!

      35. Walt K.

Lots of it will depend on Magnitude and Longevity.

      36. It is interesting to me that the same flood that destroyed the known world back in Noah’s day, was the same flood that saved Noah. The difference between life and death came down to whether the people believed God and prepared for a coming event. It seems we are back to the same point once again.
Peace and good will towards men. In due time.

      37. Hah! I remember 911.

I was going to meet a client for lunch. He and I talked over the phone about we should carry on our business, since obviously, one of the side effects of the attacks was the desire to instill fear in the populace; fear of even going to work. We decided to have lunch.

Thing is, I had two bucks in my wallet, and was planning to go to the bank to cash a check. This was about ten in the morning, but all the banks had shut their doors. My client had to buy me lunch, instead of the other way around. Plus, I bummed twenty bucks off of him to fill up the gas tank!

Nowadays, I’m sure it’s easier to shut down the banking system, but still, all it took back then was a phone call to the right person in a handful of institutions, and probably, there was a phone tree strategy used to quickly close down every major bank branch in the country.

Nowadays, the common wisdom is to jack up your credit card if it hits the fan. Not only is that system far more internets based than it used to be, but every store owner of any valuable emergency product knows that if there were really an emergency, such as seeing mushroom clouds on the horizon, that likelihood of that credit card being actually worth anything is pretty low.

One other thing to keep in mind is, I think, that paper money only works if pretty much everybody agrees that the government still stands. Paper has some functional utility in the outhouse, as we all know.

I’m not one hundred percent convinced of the value of gold either, if the government and financial system collapse completely. If a situation should arise where you couldn’t get new ammo at a local store, what utility would there be in trading your last ammo for a gold coin?

I don’t think there will be a “complete” collapse. Too many people in too many places of influence and authority know that they will also go down in that event. There will have to be some kind of government, even if it is more locally based.

        Anyhow, before I forget:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2014, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country, nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. This wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

Except for the people on this forum, for whom I wish a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

        • john, there’s two things certain in this world. you aint never gonna see a man with gold starve, and if you marry for money,,,yer gonna pay for it every day for the rest of yer life! keep smilin’, it’s almost OVER!

          • Marry for money? Marry for love? The chances of you paying for it the rest of your life and equal!

            • ARE equal?…..truer words were NEVER! i found my LAST wife by joining “parents without partners”…..but it just aint workin’ out so good. apparently a box of tampons is not a “proper” birthday present….and how was i to know she would be angry with me for talking dirty to her mom on the telephone? at least we can still go out to dinner once a week and have a nice time….i go on tuesdays, she goes on thursdays. i guess i can always join that NEW group i been hearing about…”sex without partners”.

      38. The message in the story is: there may be no warning when it goes up. I shall recite a small story from my bible. The Apostle was about to be executed. He looketh up at his executioner and sayeth, fuck you be-otch! And the Apostle grabbeth the executioners weapon and slayeth him. The Apostle ran away and lived to fight another day. Amen. Merry Christmas!

        • I liketh ye’s Bible….

      39. Merry Christmas

Now that it’s Christmas Eve day it’s time to go Christmas shopping, Target should have some good deals, I guess I’ll pass up on those, Target and Walmart have been on a personal boycott of mine.

I have a debit card account that I keep just enough money in to avoid paying any banking fees. I use that account for electronic purchases. If that account gets stolen it wont devastate me. I have another one with a credit union that’s for emergency travel. We have aging family members that live a thousand miles away and if we need to buy plane tickets or drive there then we are covered. I have a few special purpose accounts, one for taxes, one for electronic transfer payments, a checking account. Not keeping it all in one place has been my way of reducing the damage that can be caused by crooks. Being I have a small business I have to deal in the banking world, can’t get around it. If bank “A” presses the stop button there’s still bank “B”. If all the banking systems press the button all at once then we are all in it together. I hope that someone will need what I have to sell so that the barter system can get up and going rather quickly.

        • rick – it seems we have the same system .
It has worked for me many years , haveing all those accounts is a pain but nobody can steal everything from one place .
Great minds think alike i suppose 😉

        • rick in oregon, your last sentence is my plan too, but watch “after armageddon” and see what happens when he tries to trade his rolex for some food/water…it’s gonna be DICEY! BTW rick, i still got relatives in coos bay…where are you?

      40. Go Ahead ‘MAKE MY DAY’ and ‘PUSH Zee’ BUTTON’ i ain’t scared .

If you wanna ‘survive what’s a cummin’ … follow me down the rabbit hole … do you really think you have a choice ???

You left out one thing that I could think of for the SHTF event.
Have a group of like minded people you can count on.
You will not be able to survive alone.

      44. Prisoners of their own minds. The government has convinced a large percentage of people to lock themselves up inside their own little cell block of fear. Fear that the government will cut them off from access to other peoples money. You can see them on the street and in the store. That smell. It oozes from their pores. The smell of fear, boardering on panic. They know. They know. Soon.

        • Gee, I scared myself with that one.

          • That did sound a little creepy. 😉

          • @Maudy,

Spot on. Not scary when it is the truth. My employees and myself travel around the neighborhoods and see what you are saying everyday. The unemployed men standing in their garages with faces that say “what now” when they see us drive by. And there are a lot of them too. Countless homes with people home with shades drawn down in the middle of the day to keep the world out. The abandoned vacant houses a stark reminder of what is coming to them. Children crying for no reason other than sensing that mom and dad are upset about some thing. People walking the streets looking in peoples garbage cans for cans and if you can believe it, used clothes. Rag pickers I tell you!!! WTF??

We are close my friends, very, very close.

            BigB

            • just get on a bicycle and ride 5 miles if you want to see how really bad it is out there. you miss SO MUCH when you’re in a car. every year i ride the santanna wash trail in orange county ca….and ALL available space under those overpasses are HOMES now. those offramps that years ago had a guy begging once-in-a-while are now being manned with SHIFTS(or gangs, depending on the neighborhood) of beggars…don’t peel back that very thin layer if you aren’t prepared to see what america(ns) is REALLY like, people. hope yuh got popcorn and a good seat to watch it all from! but for NOW, i’m PARTYIN’ LIKE IT’S 1941!

              • On a prepping note – WALK to your bug out at least once ffs, (even if that becomes your 2 week holiday this year) If you haven’t walked it, you don’t know the potential ambush points, escape routes etc. In a car you will NOT be able to get the info that may save your life one day.

                • you were sayin’ walk to your bugout location you FAT FUCKs,…. right? what a great idea! good one! i’m going to do that while the boys are out of school for winter break.

                  • ffs = for fooks sake
ofod = oh do fook off dear (read any NCJ posts to see why you might use this acronymn).

Sadly here in the UK there are still a lot of dodgy roof slates/tree branches etc following the recent storms so I can’t do my planned winter break routes with kids and elderly Mum in tow.

Only a really selfish so and so goes on a mountain hike when the emergency services are busy working flat out on everything from fallen power lines to stray horses and old ladies. On the other hand seeing which villages had flood resilience and which didn’t has been interesting to note from a prepper’s perspective. The storm in my locale Xmas was a bad one.

If you have kids then look along your route for small hidey holes for them that they could utilise if you were unlucky enough to meet up with some bad guys in a real shtf situation. That fun game of hide and seek today may give them the opportunity to save their lives one day. Same with games of food foraging now.

                • i will take this opportunity to put in a plug for jogging strollers. they can multiply your carrying capacity. i got where i keep one around the house to carry stuff from one end of the yard to the other. i hike a bit, and i knOW it won’t be possible for most of us to carry our BOB very far AT ALL! i haven’t used one on a hike yet, but i just gave myself a great idea!

              • Sorry BCD I fat fingered the down button…meant to thumb up 🙁

        • here’s my fayvrit song from lynyrd skynyrd

          ewwww that smell
          can’tcha smell that smell
          eww that smell
the smell of DEBT surrounds youuuu

those boys sure were prophetic, now weren’t they?

      45. I’m fine with it if the financial system is taken down three seconds from now. I leave only a few dozen dollars in a checking account to keep it open, purely for bill paying. Paying face to face, mailing money orders when necessary, proved to be a donkey dong in the ass.

When my monthly bills present I deposit that much in the checking account then pay the bills. The financial system is irrelevant to me otherwise.

Nothing will wake the sheeple up faster than their money going ppfffffffttttt. Have to suppress the impulse to laugh out loud.

On second thought, why suppress it?

The Dodd Frank Act of 2012 made all of us “unsecured creditors.” And states that the financial institution owns “our” money from the moment we give it to them.

The joint FDIC – Bank of England position paper of 12/10/2012, Resolving Globally Active Systemically Important Financial Institutions gives them the authority to help themselves to our money when their derivative gamble goes bust.

Anyone who leaves a significant part of their wealth where it can be stolen deserves what they get.

      46. @ NC Joker. Christmas brings much happiness to many people that just want to celebrate the holidays being together. For others it is a special time for their belief and their religion to think things over and be together in their churches or whereever. What is wrong with this?

I whole heartily agree about the commericial garbage that many jackasses portray Christmas as. They made a couple of cartoons many decades about it. A Charley Brown Christmas and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Never can I personally not like the cartoon about the Grinch, it is a true classic that Christmas means a hell of a lot more than the presents and materialism. The only thing that bothered me about Charley Brown is when they portrayed a dead tree as being alive. When he said I killed it, duh it is already dead. It would have been beyond the paramount of an excellent story if Charley Brown had picked out a tree in a pot still alive to grown that much bigger for the next Christmas. Oh well it still put over its point of commercial manure.

My point JOKER from NC. You can’t be nice one fu$%^& time a year, you have to try to ruin it for as many people as possible. Whether you believe in Christ or the Easter Rabbit, or the Great Pumpkin, doesn’t matter. If this brings other people joy and happiness, why can’t you see this?

You want to know about a mythological creature? It is called BO that many of these dumbsh%^ relish as the second coming. I don’t see you condemning those idiots that worship BO as a God.

JOKER from NC. You could find it within yourself to wish even those that are kind enough to give you a green thumb a nice holiday season. That makes you someone that has a black soul. I fear one day you will turn to your devil and go out and do something to be a hero for your anti-self defense slimewalkers.

You know Joker, go dump some sticken garbage on a Santa Claus someone in front of a bunch of kids, and then give them all a full moon and then “you tell them all” what a farce Christmas is. That will make you feel real good, to ruin their happiness and celebration once a year. “You will set them straight, especially them preschool kids, right Joker?” It will get you an award for being the biggest cockhead Grinch in America, maybe the planet, on all the MSM everywhere, and the recognition for being the Joker from NC.

      47. @ Calgacus. You afre so correct about the attack on Christmas. I have friends that live in some of the worst places in the country where Christmas Carolling is something that you have to be careful over, offending those that that don’t want to hear about God in anything, especially song. It is sick. How does someone singing about Christ hurt anyone? They don’t even want the mention of God, a description of God with no religion attached to God. Yet they are allowed to simulate preverted sex acts in parades because this is an expression of the way they were borned.

This is a warped sense of what is right. Yesterday I talked with someone from a non free state that is trying to take away firearms from everyone and they did not want to hear about defending yourself against a criminal in your house. These areas are brainwashing people to think that the criminal is more valauble than the victims. This goes hand and hand in dumping Christmas for everyone.

These people are allowed to howl at the Moon and worship the Devil. Yet people that are peaceful and simply want to celebrate the birth of Christ are banned because it offends so many. The Constitution is every Christmas holiday season attacked with this political correctness poison. Even muslim terrorists are no longer allowed to be called radical islamists. They are called radicals period, or just terrorists. Again and again I see Christians attacked and tortured by muslims and these stories are put behind miley siren doing another arousal dance for her “audience”. OR lady gulp gulp giving fully alligence to Satan and sticking her middle finger up to the air towards God.

YOu bet there is an attack on Christmas, Christians, and especially attack on ALL and EVERYONE that support freedom and the Constitution. The truth is happening everyday and the MSM is mostly hiding it from anyone to see. At least people are still allowed to celebrate Christmas in their homes. In some places display of lights and Christmas is trying to be made illegal outside the home. This may be the last Christmas the way things are going, so everyone please enjoy it as much as possible.

        • Nah, this ain’t gonna be the last Christmas.

Obama will go, willingly or unwillingly, before the “last” Christmas arrives.

Take a look around you, and I don’t mean look up and down the block when you go to and from work.

I mean take a drive around a city larger than yours, see the businesses that have been around for generations, see the hustle bustle of people on the roads no matter where you go. Notice that things work, people stay in their lane of traffic, garbage is collected and disposed of, lots of vehicles fill the parking lots of churches every Sunday, kids go to school and sit in their seats, buses run, etc. Ours is the biggest, best, most civilized, most prosperous, most powerful nation on earth. Some pip squeak Red Diaper Baby who doesn’t know his beans from his apple butter is not going to bring down this country. And as for his worshipers, well, ….. when he goes, so will they. They’re whooping it up now, going hog wild and slop crazy all over the country, but when it’s over they will be sorry they came out from under their rocks.

This country is not run by screwups, losers, druggies, and other assorted rejects. It is run by sharp, smart, savvy, experienced, well meaning people who have no intention of letting their hard work go down the tubes to the likes of Obama. He is nothing more than a pimple on a flea’s behind to them and they know he will one day be washed up.

Have faith and remember, Santa kneels to Baby Jesus.

          • @ Anonymous ~ Very Well Spoken. Thank you. Your comments gave me hope.

          • @ Anonymous ~ Thank you for your post. It gives me hope.

          • @Anonymous,

I am not sure how to take what you have said. You are without a doubt a smart and clever person. I feel though that there is a bit of sarcasm in what you say. That said though you make a good case for everything in this country is all well and fine. A less optimistic person than myself could argue the opposite, not as eloquently for sure, that almost every word you say is not true. Would appreciate it if you used a name other than Anonymous in the future. Perhaps then we could see on a regular basis just what your true thoughts are. If you are new here, welcome aboard, if you are a regular that I have overlooked my apologies.

        • Be Informed, good evening and Merry Christmas to you and yours. Of course, I agree with you totally about ncjoe. Even on Christmas Eve, he just has to come on here and show his a$$! I let you have at him because you can express it so much better than I can. BTW, on the possibility of this being the LAST Christmas we enjoy, NOT if patriots have anything to do with it. I feel MEGA-SHTF coming in 2014. I’m already hearing from some sources I know and trust that there will be more budget calls coming down the pipe. Possibly within the 1st quarter, things may become “interesting”. braveheart

          • @ braveheart. I shouldn’t let NC Joker get at me this time of year, but it just ticks me off when I see these comments. It reminds me of the same ignorance that is poisoning this country and the whole world. I see favoritism towards the muslims in not insulting them even when they murder a bunch of innocent Christains that were simnply practicing their belief. I mean really, the people and the MSM are suppose to fully support freedom of religion, yet they don’t even say much of all about these atrocities.

If a bunch of arabs want to pray to allah and they don;t bother anyone, they have that right, ALL religions have that right. It is when they try to shovel sharia law down everyone’s throat. It is when they attack all infidels that are not of islam. That is okay from NC Joker’s view because he hates all Christians. There are bastards and good people everywhere, but NC Joker thinks different. This is why NC Joker said that none of us deserve to live. That is you, me, Mac, and everyone on this site. These statements remain on this site as proof just what an extremist NC Joker is and capable of.

When a person like this is incapable of issuing something decent or good such as a greeting or wishing all well for the New Year, the New Year has nothing to do with religion as it is just a flip of the calendar to a new one, this shows something about that person. It shows to me a ticking cauldron of rage and hate ready to be flipped over the edge. This is why I don’t push NC Joker too much because if that nut goes postal somewhere, everywhere that lunatic has written to will be investigated or temporarily shut down. The feds would do this with these sites. Since NC Joker visits this site the most.

Today it would not have taken much for the Joker to say have a nice holiday, couldn’t even do that. Had to make a hate ridden message to try to spread a little disjoy to everyone that is enjoying Christmas. I am sure many others feel like this, NC Joker being an itch you couldn’t scratch. I do hope you are able to enjoy Christmas this year.

            • BI, I just got home and caught your comment #2887508. yes, the attacks on our culture, religion, etc. infuriate me also. It’s much worse than the trolls. But I confess that I do enjoy ‘venting’ on the trolls. It helps me keep my sanity. I will enjoy Christmas; I just hope you settle down enough to also enjoy it. braveheart

              • Hello Braveheart:
Please keep us informed about any SHTF problems coming.
You seem to be very well informed.
Im glad you are on our side.

                HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Any questions you have on any survival-related topics just feel free to ask and we’ll do our best to help. Hope your Christmas was good. I think I put on 10 lbs. today courtesy of some wonderful cooking. braveheart

                  • Braveheart:
Thanks, I’v been prepping since the mid to late 70’s, back when Carter almost wrecked the country.
But believe me if I have any questions I’ll be asking. You all have some good ideas here on this sight.
                    Thanks again, N.R.

                  • Braveheart: I’ll trade your 10lbs for my 15lbs. Mom and my sister put on one good feed bag for us today. Back to to trying to get under 200lbs. Damn that is going to take alot of work1;-). God bless and Merry christmas and Happy New Year. N.R.

            • See one of things I appreciate most about Western Society is our freedom of religious expression.

I am free to choose not only to worship Christ, but the congregation I celebrate with. That in and of itself is such a priceless gift that I cannot begrudge others from doing the same, even when their religion differs from mine.

I give thanks most weeks (not daily cos try as I might I’m not that good) that I was not misfortune enough to have been born in Saudi, or during the reformation or the inquisition.

Ultimately the political battle is one of Authoritarianism versus anti-authoritarianism. Live and let live or crush and destroy. To enjoy the atrophy of being a Kidult or to struggle towards true maturity. NC Joe is stuck at rebellious toddler on the developmental scale sadly, and that’s sad that he won’t even attempt to grow.

        • Be informed, we all need to remember that we are under attack because we hold some power among us. The Commies have always known that they have to destroy religion to get their system in place. None of us should ever give in to what they say or demand. In fact it would be wise to prepare ourselves for activist behavior if necessary. No government can destroy religious belief all they can do is intimidate and force the population to surrender. But the values and the thoughts remain for those who truly believe.

NC Joker comes here to try and anger us. He is like them and is trying to destroy our power and belief. If he thought we were nothing, he wouldnt bother would he? Its funny but we own him and he cant escape us.

Have a very merry Christmas, man. You have cared enough for people on this forum to help others over and over again. God bless you.

          • No government can destroy religious belief. All they can do is intimidate and force the population to surrender.— Exactly and that is just what happened when so called Christians where allowed to run amuck in government before the supreme court ruled in favor of separation of church & state. Those well meaning religious bigots trampled on the native americans religious freedoms. stole their children and sent them to be indoctorinated in the preferred goverment superstition at places like the Carsile indian school. You need to read the book the Education of Little Tree. Good Grief Some fat Yay in a red suit named sandy claws yelling Ho Ho Ho and scaring the bejabbers out of the little children!

        • I dunno. the jehovas witnesses can be very annoying. Tey are persistant. I finally found a way to keep them away. Come to the door stark naked and invite them in! As you might have surmised Im not a Christian. I don’t agree with Christ dying for my sins. That sounds too good to be true. its something for nothing. Nope Ill take both the punishment for my bad deeds along with the rewards for my good deeds. my opinion I if it fits your requirements one persons religious superstition is just as good as another persons superstition. I have no use for organized religion. They all tell ya to send your money to the lord but give you their address. Don’t come Christmas Caroling near me and disturbing my peace.

      48. Merry Christmas to all!
Dont loose sight of the really important things in life,
Government, money, and all these external issues related to those two things are unimportant,
So Merry Christmas and wishing all a happy and safe holiday season

      49. I don’t think they will want to lick it down just yet , they too will get fucked in the process , us real people on the outside will find a way too quickly to do without their system of fiat money scam , and no taxes for them if they lock it up , two can get screwed in that game and they know it .. Problem for them is were smarter than they are and will replace their funny money scheme quicker than they could bat an eye .. Could it cause a problem if they did this , yes without a doubt .. But we the people will resort to leaving them out of what we do when they pull this shit . At least those that think like we do

Hey BI I’m down here in Peru doing the holiday , keep the earth together for us while we celebrate Christ’s Birthday , I’ve talked to all the relatives here and have givin them heads up on some of the earth moving predictions as of late , seems those around here are kinda like the first preppers when it comes to TCB in a sense of being prepared and living at their means
You all at SHTF community have a great and safe holidays , and Merry Christmas

        • Lick= lock
          Stupid keyboard

          • I learned type at Coney Island, so that’s MY excuse!

        • @VRF…..Merry Christmas to you and yours….isn’t it funny (when we are away on holiday) we still have to run to the hotel lobby to use their internet to check out SHTF site?(I know I do that too!)..don’t want to miss some inportant info! You have a wonderful vacation! take care, CC.

          • Lol yeah I know , addicted and wanting to stay in touch , I also wanted to come on to wish all a merry Christmas , although about the hotel lobby thing .. I’m at families house on their wifi
Lol ,, if that’s any better

      50. Being the way I am made the Target thing a bump in the road. My wifes card info was stolen by them, copied and used to the tune of $896.00 which was almost all her money. Now in a week or so it will be strait, but her account was frozen till the investigation was done. I simply took from a box that I have stashed for reasons like this. Christmas for the kids was still on, and I can replace my stashed cash when this target thing is resolved. Now I am not as crazy as she once thought…

        Merry Christmas…

        • Ten dollar bills in number ten cans. Sound advice. Merry Christmas Mushroom, wherever you are! 🙂

          • All Hail Mushroom.

          • Crisp ten dollar bills.

        • Someone stole my wife’s credit card, but I told her not to report it. Who ever took it wasn’t spending anything close to what she was!

        • 40 million cards stolen times 896 dollars each? daaaaaamn! someone’s gotta be bankrupted over this one!

          • Just fixing the problem is going to cost Target about $100 million, that’s their entire profit during the Christmas season.

      51. I so apologize for all these posts.
Has to be attributed to all those home made chocolate chip cookies!!

        • JayJay: That maybe, and quit “nipping” on the egg nog! 🙂

      52. To get around the credit card thing, I just got this cool chip put into my right hand.
It leaves a little mark. All my medical, legal, financial data is on it. All I have to do is have the cashier anywhere swipe my rt hand and I’m done. Same for my SNAP and other govt entitlements.
        This is great.
It’s a freebee I got at our local ACA obamacare place. It only takes a moment to slip it in under the skin and a bandaid. Everyone should get one of these.

happy halodayz or is it holi day? Who cares.

        • A very merry Christmas to “YENTAL”.

          ..you are missed, bro’.

      53. A very merry CHRIST-mas to y’all…spend some time with those you love and enjoy them…all the crap and trouble will keep and be right there waiting when we get back…even if there is no peace on earth we can have some in our hearts and minds if we choose to indulge ourselves in it… 🙂

      54. Speaking of christmas, does anyone know if Barnes still makes solid copper boo lits? I see the boxes now with all this shit sst,sxs and the like with absolutely no description of what the hell they are. If thet do still make solid copper does anyone know what the symbol on the box is? Thanks..

        • Barnes X

          • Ha I found them they are now TAC-X

      55. Why **anyone** would keep their money with JP Morgue, or one of the other corrupt bankster companies, is beyond me. Same as paying the guillotine operator to execute you. Get your money out and into a small bank, or credit union, folks, unless you like paying your own jailer.

      56. @ VRF. I had no idea you were down in Peru. The Nazca plate has been really super active along with the Australian plate. It is already 6 days overdue. This is uncommon and not good. I have seen this before something really large. Normally within that 15 day window after the precrusors start, a major quake occurs. You might be okay as the previous earthquakes that struck after the same exact spots were hit before tend to focus more on the northern section of South American and Central America, or the more south central area around Chile. Still I would say the two favorites for moving are the Australian plate and or the Nazca plate.

I am fairly sure that west South America is going to have a good size earthquake soon. If it does hit Peru, please let us all know you and your family are okay. Then IF everything is okay, maybe you could describe what you felt. I don’t know if you are near to any flood plains or avalache areas, as back on May 31, 1970 this was what killed many people when a 7.9 or 8.0 hit. It is something to watch for, especially after the shaking has stopped. It is summer down in Peru right now as you know and earthquakes can dislodge snow and ice and create mud and rock flows from the mountain tops. I hope you have a nice Christmas down there. If I see anything pending I will try to post it and warn you.

I am very close to the center of Lima , within miles
Family here is very well versed and experienced in earthquakes , they have been thru a few , last time I was here I felt a 4 or so for a few seconds , kinda weird due to the fack back in the states I don’t live anywhere near an area that deals with such things , yet
If anything starts rumbling here I’ll let you all know what the ride is like , I’ll be here a little while past the New Years

      57. There is a note of interest about earthquakes and Christmas. It seems like the planet quiets down on Christmas Day most of the time, then the activity picks up one day to 5 days after each Christmas. This could be due to the transition of seasons around Dec.21. Still it is interesting to note the lack of any earthquakes on Christmas. Look at the major earthquakes on Christmas Day using UTC (universal time) that the seismic centers use.

Since 1900, earthquakes of 6.5+ on Christmas Day.

        1900- 7.1 Kuril Islands
        1907- 6.6 Afghanistan
        1918- 6.6 New Guinea
        1926- 6.6 Indonesia
        1932- 7.6 China
        1953- 6.7 Kamchatka Peninsula
        1967- 7.2 New Guinea
        1969- 7.2 Leeward Islands
        1978- 6.6 East Pacific Rise
        1995- 7.1 Banda Sea
        2003- 6.5 Loyalty Islands and 6.5 Panama/Costa Rica
        2010- 7.3 Vanuatu

Like the Earth rest on Christmas Day. May everyone else also rest and have a peaceful Christmas Day. 🙂

      58. I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to you all.

      59. MERRY CHRITSMAS MAC! Thanks for all you do. I really appreciate it and do my own homework, too!

        • Unsubstantiated. They’ve taken a lot of known events and fantasized about it. Give me some references, someplace I can research that the military actually foiled these plots. I don’t trust TPTB, but one loses credibility in my eyes spewing such a story without vetting their facts.

      60. Merry Christmas all and Happy New Year.

I pray God grant us another year that more of us will be closer to self sufficiency by His grace and in His strength. So that we having done all we may indeed stand strong against the arrows of the evil one. No matter what form they may take.

Thank you Father, for your Son.

      61. Kids will be here for a feast later on and all the talkin and laughin will remind me again about whats important.
Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoyed reading all the comments here and got a kick outta John Fornaros holiday wishes. I dont expect Hallmark will take that one for a card but damn its good.
So Merry Christmas one and all.I hope your day is full up with joy and love.

      62. Merry Christmas to everyone.

It is a very clear, cold and beautiful morning. I did catch a small bit of the sunrise. Peaceful. Wish it could last forever. Hot cup of coffee. Family waking up.
        All is right.

      64. The last time I had a credit card, someone put a $3 international charge on it. I called the credit card company and of course I got someone in India. They wouldn’t remove the charge. They told me I had to call the merchant who put the charge on my card. I tried to explain that it wasn’t a merchant, it was a criminal organization. She repeated that I must call them. I cancelled on the spot. Haven’t had a card since. If they won’t remove a $3 charge what happens when it’s $3ooo? Cash all the time now.

        • Maudy Fricket, I’ve NEVER had a credit card in my whole life and NEVER will. When you use credit for anything, look at what you have to sacrifice. I understand that would vary from one person to the next, but I’ve seen what credit cards have done to people over the years. I’ve seen people get out of hand with them and put themselves into a deep hole that seems to take forever to climb out of. I’ve never been offered any proof that having a credit card is essential to living. It’s one type of stress I’ve never had and refuse to have, I don’t give a damn what anyone says. I use cash for most of my transactions. have a debit card but I use it as little as possible. And when you’re first trying to establish credit, look at all the effort you have to go through to get access to credit. In my mind, it’s not worth any of the effort you have to go through just to have the ability to go into debt on something. I’m debt-free and I’m much happier that way. A lot of people think something is wrong with me for never using credit but that’s their problem, not mine. You did one of the best things anyone can do for themselves by getting away from credit. braveheart

      65. @ Emily. First of all Merry Christmas. Next you want to know about the False Flags planned. EMP’s are always possible, same with nukes, biological warfare, attacks using firearms, “terrorist” bombing, dirty bombs, etc. Talking about weather wars, that is a bit complex. They CANNOT create weather systems out of the blue, this is several decades away at least. You need enormous amounts of energy to bypass the planet’s already established climate. You could however add to already there weather systems and stear hurricanes and tornadoes for example.

To create a hurricane out of nothing requires altering the ocean water that basically fuels the hurricane. Creating a tornado out of nothing requires that you move the jet stream, that you bring in moist warm air from a region, create a dry line that is normally cold air. In other words a tremendous amount of energy to do this on a wide scale. It is not just a localized area, it is widespread huge parcels of air. Changing the already existing systems, YES.

Next to earthquakes. Just like the myth of the Canary Islands and creating ocean wide huge tsunamis with tsunami bombs, these people don’t take in account what it takes for even a 5 foot tsunami over thousands of miles. The Soviets long ago gave up on the idea of collapsing a massive ice sheet in the Antarctica to direct a tsunami towards the U.S. because the further away something is over the ocean, the smaller it gets because of the resistance of the ocean that dissipates it over distance. Localized avalaches cause massive tsunamis that upon reaching open water become ripples. Sounds good to science fiction, but already is science fact. The 1700+ foot tsuanmi in the very narrow channel in Alaska from an avalache become nothing in open water, no mega tsunami from this at all. In fact no tsunami at all outside the bay islet on distant shores.

The amount of energy released from the 8.8 Chile earthquake was equal to tens of thousands of hydrogen bombs. This produced a 12 foot tsunami over in Japan maximum and about a 8 foot tsunami maximum in Hawaii, a gentle one at that. Unless the government has an anti-matter bomb, no wide spread tsunami from any explosion. Even a 5 mile wide asteroid made of solid iron impacting the ocean will not create a mega tsunami at thousands of miles away. Something 50 foot or so, but not hundreds of feet high like exaggerated so often. Hundreds of miles away, yes, thousands of miles away, NO.

Back to earthquakes. When a fault ruptures it is the result of usually hundreds of miles of crustal stress that has built up over decades or centuries. To move even a few dozen miles of crust not only horizontally but vertically takes something that no government even begins to have. The ONLY hope for any government to cause a 6 or 7 pointer quake would be to trigger something already due to break. These earthquakes start usually fairly deep, 10 miles or so, deeper than any drill. People think on a two dimensional plane, it takes triggering an earthquake on three dimensions. It is not like the absurd first Superman movie in which a fictional 50 mega ton warhead causes the San Andreas to break. Even a 100 megaton placed in the Salton Sea, as deep as they could get it, would likely not cause the southern San Andreas to break. It would cause a type of recoil and probably bound it up even more than it is now. The San Andreas breaking is determined by the interaction of the Pacific and North American plates finally mnoving on a mass scale.

The New Madrid is an ancient plate. It is even more compressed than the San Andreas, being near the center of the North American plate. The real trigger for this will come from the east on the Mid Atlantic Ridge, from the Caribbean plate to the southeast, perhaps from the Cocos plate to the southwest. A nuke would explode in all directions. To trigger the New Madrid you need a more directional push from the south or east, from another plate. Nukes that have been tested underground DON’T have this type of push as seen from seismic charts. Explosions reverberate off other rock strata in all directions. Planting a nuke on the New Madrid would be like the San Andreas, it likely would do nothing but cause an earthquake from the explosion. A large nuke plated in the hard dense rock masses would cause a 6 pointer from the explosion which would cause damage. The 7.5+ to low 8 of the New Madrid breaking needs crustal push from elsewhere.

One just has to go out and look at a mountain range that is a hundred miles and then stack 10 or 20 of that mountain range on top of each other to get an idea a fraction of just how much land mass moves with just a 7 pointer. This visualization gives someone an idea just how much land mass has to be moved to cause an earthquake. AND just how out of touch with reality it is of any government that would hope to cause that much land mass to move because they want it to.

Besides all of this, there is a hidden rule that most governments follow, NEVER create something that could get out of control. This is what it is about a government, CONTROL. Creating an earthquake is absolute insanity because you don’t know just what is going to happen and just how far beyond what you wanted it to do will go. You plan on a mid 7 and get several mid 8’s that cause other faults to fail that you did not want to. IF your ass is going down along with your target, nothing is achieved.

This is why these stories about the government creating geophysical events are absurd. The government however knows when a fault is ready to break and can use this to their benefit. Take the opportunity when it presents itself. This is why the USGS is constantly monitoring the New Madrid up and down it. WHEN it is ready to break naturally, the government can take full advantage of this to benefit itself. This makes tremendous sense to me. Same goes true with the San Andreas and the Cascadia fault. Never pass up on an opportunity to seize on it for your advantage.

        • Bi I really enjoy your input on the earthquakes and such. Im very interested in such things. Because I live close to the New Madrid and strongly believe the planet is undergoing an end of an age magnetic pole shift and possibly a axis shift. I think its a cyclic event that happens every so many thousands of years. I don’t believe its caused by man and the government cant mitigate it. I dont believe its gods punishment for mans sin or mother nature trying to restore balance. Im of the opinion there isn’t now and never was such a thing as the balance of nature. the only constant is change.

          • @ old guy. Something I forgot to mention was a new precursor quake today on the southern African plate that leads to big quakes 92% of the time within 15 days. This one included the 8.1 in Samoa. On top of the previous one that lead to the 9.1 in Indonesia that occured 3 days ago on the SW Indian Ridge, it is almost certain something quite big is coming.

Also something that few understand about tsunamis is that water channelling is something like canyons that focus in energy to a narrow inlet. They see these mammouth quakes and don’t understand that the more wide open the ocean becomes the more energy is necessary to keep a tsunami wave high enough before it reaches the opposite shore. Much the same people don’t understand the cubic blast law that takes up the distance of width, length AND heighth. This is where a mega ton explosion has 50 times the energy of the Hiroshima bomb but will not cover 50 times more land. It will actually ONLY cover 3.68 times the mass. The cube root of 50 is 3.68. 3.68x 3.68x 3.68. This means total destruction of a 20 kiloton nuke is a little over 2 miles. So the same would apply to a 1 megaton nuke being about 8 miles. (2+) X 3.68 = about 8.

This is the problem with so many stories about utter annihilation from some type of disaster that is not nearly as strong to accomplish this. People don’t plug in basic figure and grossly exaggerate a potenial disaster that will never manifest itself. Creditable is then lost.

Take tides of the Moon for example to show how the openness of the ocean decays the tidal pull of the Moon. Average rise and fall of tides:

Baltimore, Maryland- 1 foot 2 inches
            Panama- 8 inches
            Galveston, Texas- 1 foot
St. Petersburg, Florida- 1 foot 7 inches
Some Pacific Islands as little as 1 or 2 inches

Then look at tides in channelled inlets:
Eastport, Maine- 18 feet 4 inches
Boston, Mass.- 9 feet 6 inches
Portland, Maine- 9 feet 1 inch
Seattle, Wash.- 7 feet 8 inches
bay of Fundy can be as severe as up to 45-50 feet during spring or autumn equinox tides

This shows how even with the massive tidal flux of the Moon, it takes massive energy to move the ocean up and down. This is an example of the myths that are floating around the internet that don;t take into account just how much it takes to generate a sizeable tsunami in open water. The wider and deeper the water, the more three dimensional size and thus the more energy required to sustain tsunami waves. This is one reason that tsunamis are bigger in shallow water. An earthquake will enough force for example in one of the Great Lakes could be quite large. The same size earthquake in the Pacific Ocean might not even reach 2 inches.

IF there was a plate shift, this would be way more than enough energy to cause massive tsunamis, It would not cause entore continents to be swamped as long the continents remained at the same level. there is not enough water to literally empty itself from all the ocean basins to do this. Water could reach a few hundred miles inland though in some cases where very large mountains did not block this. Resistance of the land would slow everything down a lot. 2012 movie is mostly science fiction.

The real concern over a plate shift is the severe magnetic instability that would result. The magnetic storms would be nothing like people have ever seen before. Hyper winds mayeb even reaching 400 mph could happen in some spots. The climate of the planet would be in very severe trouble. Something like this would be worse than the dinosaur killer asteroid. This probably has not happened for the past billion years and becomes less likely as the planet’s inside cools. Hot new planets, this is far more likely to occur and might have a couple of billion years ago. Smaller shifts are possible and would be catastrophic, again from the magnetic field be put through these stresses.

Axis shifts are actually more subtle than most realize and occur over a long period of time. A sudden one would be horrible. Polar wandering is increasing, but at the slow speed it is now in comparison to a sudden and abrupt one, the cataclysmic effects will be less than apocalyptic. It is however possible that a sudden shift occurs, especially if anything out in space causes any orbital disturbances.

You have a really nice Christmas and we shall see if things begin to pick up after Christmas like many times they do.

            • Im of the opinion that the dinosaur weren’t killed by a asteroid. Im blaming the emergence of mammals. I believe rodents ate the eggs of plant eating dinosaurs. very few young hatched and their numbers declined. No tasty small plant eaters and the meat eaters starved. In fact we still have dinosaurs. crocks ,alligators ,sharks ect survived. any rodent swimming to eat a gator,s eggs becomes gator food. The wolly mammoth surived for a time because they where isolated. but the parasites carried by rodents did them in. there was no bird with a specialized beak to pick the ticks ,lice ect from the mammoth long hair and they died off in the warmer. climates. It just simply make,s logical sense that is what was most likely the cause. Rodents mainly rats & mice took out the mighty beast. Rodents carrying the plague shure took a great toll in human life also. When man does become extinct it likely will be from some germ carried by some life form . could be a fly ,mosquito, gnat or something new.

        • @ Be Informed ~ Merry Christmas to you too.
I too, enjoy reading the information you present here.
I like reading it, thinking on it, doing my own research on what you told me/looking things up. Earthquakes have always interested me. I have learned a lot from your posts. I did not know about and had to look up the Cascadia fault. (see where it was located, ect.)
I watched on the History Channel a few years ago, and viewed their myth they presented of the Canary Islands, and how a part of it would tumble into the ocean and create a huge tsunamis onto the East Coast of the U.S.
I am glad you are telling people about this fallacy.
I remember the Hx. channel would begin its segment with a ‘warning’ of the content presented was just ‘theory.’
They should do that each time, with every segment.
It can alarm the public, and scare them. The Hx. channel should be more responsible with some of their televised shows. Thank you for spending the time, and responding to my post is a very thorough and interesting way.

          • @ Emily. There are many very creditable articles out there that are watered down by myths like the Canary Islands/ La Palma volcanic flank collapsing into the sea and creating a super tsunami. People start to believe myths like this, and WHEN they don’t pan out it hurts those articles that are true. This is what irritates me, that this is still floating around out there. Many people actually believe this and are not bad people spreading misinformation, they just don’t understand.

A very simple way of looking at tsunamis and the force necessary to cause waves of significant size is to look at something on a much smaller scale. You can easily move a jug of water or something else with light weight to it. Add more weight, more water, it takes more force to push that weight or water. When you have an water tank of several thousand gallons it takes a lot of horse power to move it. Same goes true with these isolated avalanches that cause tall building size waves. Drop the same mass into open water with thousands or millions times the volume of water, nothing but a tiny ripple.

The Atlantic Ocean is 30 million square miles with an average depth of 11,810 feet. This in comparison to a fjord type canyon in Alaska with depths 1/10 this or less and sqaure miles in the few to tens of miles, one can see the difference in how a big splash would decay very rapidly over any real distance. You also have much wind resistance that makes a tsunami travelling 3500 miles to Georgia and Florida shores requiring huge amounts of movement of ocean waters. Velocity is the key here. ANY collapse would be a snail’s pace to the requirement of the mass that would fall to an asteroid impact. Thus no super tsunami, too slow, 1/160,000th. the energy required for a mega tsunami from a large asteroid impact.

Even the Japanese earthquake alone with the amount of thrusting up was not enough to create a huge tsunami from the crust below. It took what is called dynamic overshoot which is so much energy released that it transfered that energy to the shallower sea floor which was also uplifted on top of the deeper crust. This meant much more mass lifted up, and QUICKER at that. This is why the maximum size of the tsunami was 124 feet and the Chile earthquake only .2 magnitudes lower did not surpass about 40 feet. Also the water was deeper around Chile than Japan. The Japan earthquake was actually further in the planet at 29 kilometers and the Chile Earthquake was 22.9 kilometers deep. So dynamic overshoot really played into this.

The Indonesia earthquake this also seemed to have occurred. Past earthquakes in the ocean seem to have an 8.9 or 9.0 threshold of this dynamic overshoot as other very large earthquakes under 8.9 have not produced these mammouth tsunamis over large areas. Smaller shallow mega quakes under 8.9 have occurred in shallow water such as in the Caribbean late in the 18th century and let loose some very large tsunamis. 600 years ago or so, the east and northeast Caribbean plate broke and was similar in size to the Japanese tsunami, probably bigger in the shallow shelf waters.

People will site tsunami destruction on the east coast and mistakenly blame the Canary Islands. The tsunami evidence is from earthquake ruptures or asteroid or comet impacts into the Atlantic Ocean or something else that would produce the energy of tens or hundreds of gigatons. 1000 one megaton hydrogen bombs equals a gigaton. The Canary Islands collapse would produce something in the range of a large hydrogen bomb, one, not thousands or tens or hundreds of thousands like that of hundreds of miles of fault breaking or a big rock from space going 38000 mph or faster.

It takes a lot to move tens of millions of cubic miles of water. This is exactly what is necessary to generate even a moderate tsunami. Solitons and tidal bores are often given as evidence of monster waves such as the huge wave that flooded into China a few months ago. These are channelled in very narrow passages and would not occur in open water. Rogue waves can be huge and isolated, but are mostly caused from hundreds or thousands of miles of wind influence on them. Rogue waves are not from avalaches, but like the huge waves generated at sea, wind and pressure differences make these massive waves. Like the surfer that rode that near 100 foot wave, this was generated by wind at sea.

It takes force to more mass, and the more mass the more force is necessary to move it. People will talk about using harmonics to shatter rock like singers shatter glass. It is one thing to fracture a small targeted area and something the size of dozens of large mountain ranges. Numbers and science when put to the test show that people should not write these articles and scare people before first plugging in some numbers to make sure they fit.

When I say that the Cascadia fault will break with a 8.9 to 9.2, the San Andreas if the south and central portion goes a 8.1 to 8.4, this is probably going to be the right magnitudes, maybe a little under. It is extremely important to me to only give the best estimates of anything to other people as I want the same for myself. Exactness, or near to it, means respect for all those listening. People that overblown facts and figures sound good, but are not telling the real story. Again, creditablity is lost and it hurts those that are trying to be as precise as possible in many other subjects.

I agree with you that earthquakes are interesting, the shear power behind them. So is the planet, the Sun, the planets, the galaxy and the universe. The more we learn and understand the less fearful we are of the not known. I hope you and everybody else out there are having a nice holiday season.

            • Ok I understand that pole shifting normally takes decades maby even hundreds of years. Its my understanding the magnosphere protects the planet from space winds , radiation ect. It also my understanding the tectonic plates are partly held in place by magnetism. as of late the north magnetic pole has been shifting toward siberia by several miles per year. The south magnetic pole has not moved very much. This puts a twist in the magnosphere. that causes plate movements and the related earthquakes volcanos ect. It also causes weather patterns to be erratic. Last year the gulf stream in the ocean stopped for a time and the Jet stream reversed & went from e ast to west for a time. We received 11 days of rain when we normally don’t get any rain. Just my observations and opinion.

              • @ old guy. I value your observations a lot, you add much to any conversation. The Gulf Stream will sometimes stop flowing due to the saltity of the water. This can occur with ice melts, rainfall pattern changes in the African west coast, and from the ocean currents themselves seeking balance. The jet stream can reverse, almost like the way a backdraft occurs in the atmosphere, again the convection system of the atmoshere seeking balance. Could be something more alarming, but likely it is something a little more explainable.

      66. Merry Christmas to all.

Y’all Beware! Have a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

      67. Let them lock the system down. It will be their lose as much as ours. They have been steeling money from us for years. (Taxes,).
I only keep enough money in the back to cover by bills.
God Bless You and Yours & I hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas.
        Sgt.

        • Sgt:
If they lock it down all the obamanites will not get there free phones, free money, free food, free healtcare, free everthing. There will be trouble.
There will be roits. looting, arson, killings in those big cities. Then that will weed out alot of dead beats. Then when the obamanites are done in the cities they will move out into the country side.
OH WAIT!! That one of those things I’m prepping for.(DUH!)I almost forgot. I’m having to much fun today. Merry Christmas to you and yours.;-)

          • Northern Reb, the obamanites can do a lot of damage in the cities, but I question if they can really take over a city. I know damned well if they try coming into any small towns or rural areas, they’ll become history. country people won’t put up with their BS. If they come to my place, I’ll just waste their sorry asses. I won’t tolerate their BS either. MOLON LABE braveheart

        • Merry Christmas to you and yours, Sarge. I myself gained a few extra pounds from some wonderful cooking today. I agree, let them lock it down if they want to shoot their own feet off. Then the party can begin and we can take this country back. MOLON LABE braveheart

      68. President Putin man of the year/Obama an empty raincoat – George Galloway

With regard to Syria, President Vladimir Putin, in the words of George Galloway, “played a blinder” and prevented a cataclysm for the entire world an accomplishment more than worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize. Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was also instrumental in preventing the evisceration of the Syrian people and Syria and also had a “great year”. Outspoken defender of rule of law, sovereignty and the rights of the people, British MP George Galloway, spoke with the Voice of Russia about these issues and more. Calling US President Obama an “empty raincoat”, he blasted Obama’s hypocrisy and callousness with regard to his attitude to the mothers of children who are “eviscerated by Hellfire Missiles” under Obama’s illegal and extra-judicially murder by drone of people around the world.

      69. Obama’s biggest failures in 2013

Is the Obama presidency failing? In fairness, he’s still in office. But polls show that among modern presidents, Obama is seen as the biggest “failure”. Among his failures are his Syrian strategy and Obamacare, the NSA surveillance scandal and government shutdown, the Boston marathon terrorist attack and this is not to mention the mass shootings. But let’s look back at everything in order.

      70. Old Vet:
Thanks for the info. Maybe the American people are starting to wake up, I sure hope so.
No matter what this man does he screws it up. God help us.
And that is why I’m getting ready for SHTF.
And maybe that is why we are seeing a surge in prepping. It not just for us crazy wacko’o any more it has moved to the some main stream people.
Darn it, I liked being out of the main stream.:-)

      71. Its a wonder how everything just keeps rolling along. Things are as bad as ive ever expierenced in my 63 years. Yet its still functioning any way. The insurmountable debt & fiscal irresponsibility both private and government seems to not matter. The Kickcanistan economics keep putting off the Inevetable? Don’t let it fool you we are in deep do do. If the economy doesn’t collapse. the commie NWO Un agenda 21 government will confiscate and inprison the citizens. and if we somehow survive or avoid those disasters the end of an age Clatyclisms caused by the pole shift will finally separate the wheat from the chaff. The good news is that the parasites and helpless sheeple will perish first. The self reliant productive & prepared will no longer have taking parasites tagging along for a free ride. Im of the opinion 90% will die. The Nukes both the weapons and electric power plants worry me the most. The good news is its a exciting time to be alive on the planet. We are on the cusp of great change. just as well embrace the new adventure ya cant prevent it.

      72. What happens when the babyboomers hit retirement and want to cash in their stocks and downsize their McMansions?

We don’t have enough young productive workers to support the droves of retirees expecting to draw for 30+ years from company and gubberment ponzi schemes.

Demographics is a key systemic financial risk for the can kickers. It’s one that the political establishment has refused to address for decades yet we all knew it was coming. That’s before all the scamming and thieving since 2008 & the print more paper policy.

        • yep Im planning on signing up for the social security Ponzi scheme in Janurary 2014. I think I will receive all that I paid in back in less than 5 years. If the Ponzi Scheme will last long enough to let me just get back what I paid in ill consider myself lucky? Of course its still a loss because of inflation. those dollars had more purchasing power when I paid them than they will have when they are returned to me.

      73. Y’all dont forget the bible and Jesus’s teachings. When did you see Jesus get really angry??? When he turned over the tables at the temple and threw the ‘money changers’ out!
Now you guys take the time to figure out the lesson he was trying to teach, and you will find that this thing called life,as we know it,is all wrong. I dont want to live the bankster’s version of life, and if there needs to be a SHTF scenario to get back to an honest life,so be it.
No more banks,no more royal families,no more elite,no more debt slavery,no more complacence,no more raping of this planet. Id trade it all for an honest life.

        • Actually I don’t really want any SHTF collapse ect. I actually just want to draw my pittance from the Social Security Ponzi Scheme and play Hobby farm the remainder of my days. However Im not a denalist I know there isn’t a viable ballot box or political solution. I know the government will never be fiscally responsible. I know the USA is in decline. I know that the UN NWO and agenda 21 do actually exist. I know the poles are shifting and the clatyclismic events will increase in both frequency & magnitude. When SHTF happens most will wish things where as good as they where for them on dec 29 2013. It wont be a reset it will be a spiraling downfall.

        • The money changers and sellers of doves were shortchanging the foreigners and the poor who were coming to the temple for worship. They got ripped off on exchange rates and the poor were sold doves at a higher rate than elsewhere (as I was told). The problem wasn’t commerce, it was corruption.

      74. You guys should try living in Australia, we are one of the most policed countries in the world with people paid to sit around and make up new laws to further restrict our freedom. Not sure how things work over there but our fed pays lawyers to fight themselves to make these changes – how f@#*ed up is that?
I fear it is too late for us as they have already taken our guns (even fertilizer is banned because we might make a bomb out of it)
Want to see what your country might look like in a few years – pay us a visit. Hold onto your basic freedom and values guys or be backed into a corner like us aussies.
A popular joke here is that if it is fun, it must be illegal… I guess the real joke is on us!
