Pentagon’s $35 Trillion “Accounting Changes” Fed The Military-Industrial Complex

In just one year, the Pentagon has racked up $35 trillion in “accounting changes” which served to feed the beast of the military-industrial complex. These accounting adjustments made last year by the Pentagon total an amount that’s larger than the entire U.S. economy.

It also shows just how disturbingly lackadaisical the government is and underscores the Defense Department’s continuing difficulty in balancing its books.  To make matters even more horrifying, the figure dwarfs the $738 billion of defense-related funding in the latest United States budget, a spending plan that includes the most expensive weapons systems in the world including the F-35 jet as well as new aircraft carriers, destroyers, and submarines, according to Bloomberg.

“Within that $30 trillion is a lot of double, triple, and quadruple counting of the same money as it got moved between accounts,” said Todd Harrison, a Pentagon budget expert with the Center for Strategic and International Studies. The “combined errors, shorthand, and sloppy record-keeping by DoD accountants do add up to a number nearly 1.5 times the size of the U.S. economy,” said Speier, a California Democrat. The report shows the Pentagon “employs accounting adjustments like a contractor paints over mold. Their priority is making the situation look manageable, not solving the underlying problem,” she said.

The GAO estimated based on a sample that at least 96% of 181,947 automatic adjustments made in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2018 “didn’t have adequate supporting documentation.”

“In layman’s terms, this means that the DoD made adjustments to accounting records without having documentation to support the need or amount for the adjustment,” said Dwrena Allen, spokeswoman for the Pentagon’s inspector general. “The size and scope of unsupported adjustments is deeply concerning because it tells a story of poor internal controls and lack of financial data integrity.” –Bloomberg

Imagine if someone made “accounting changes” to their theft paperwork tax return in order to not have to feed this beast? The blowback would be unbelievable.  This is just one more reason why humans should rethink their consent to be enslaved by the government’s military-industrial complex and ruling class politicians.

        Off topic but
If any retail store ask if you want a receipt …your answer should be a resounding hell yes.
D.G. started that crap around here about a year ago and now all stores are following suit. The goal is to go digital on all receipts.
That way they will know who’s stockpiling.
Now even dollar tree ask you to push a button if you want a receipt.
THEY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT EVERY DIME YOU SPEND AND ON WHAT .
        —K THEM
If they can justify eliminating paper receipts by saying there was no demand for them …then they will.

It is feeding the beast, Wall Street. Thousands of non-defense related companies and corporations, foreign and domestic are receiving “defense” contracts through the Good Jobs First Program, created by the Rockefellers Studies Institute, after the 2008 crash early in Obama’s first term, and now propagandized by Ralph Nader.

There is no way that many of Silicon Valley corporations can survive without complete corporate welfare, since they do not charge for their product. These corporate frauds never should have been allowed to be publicly listed because they are fraud schemes in every sense of the definition, which have also destroyed liberty in America. Bill Clinton lifted Blue Sky Laws early in his first term for the creation of the mass surveillance Orwellian theft, intellectual property theft, and sex offender state.

Israel is in the process of stealing land from 38,000 Bedouin shepherds and relocating them to temporary multi-unit apartment bulidings where they will not be able to maintain their livlihood, so that Israel can create a competitor to Silicon Valley.

The Pentagon should just stop finanancing these corporate welfare schemes.

America- a country that nobody can believe in.

While I agree with the substance of the article, the world is a complex and dangerous place, populated by powers and ideologies much worse that the MIC, banksters, and the oligarchs who control this country, or at least direct its course, in a very real sense.

The election of TRUMP to the Oval Office by the People against all odds and every mainstream “stakeholder” (read power hungry group) should encourage US to step up and continue the political fight: which begins at the local level.

TRUMP has rolled back the NWO in a very real way, which is why the Elite who profit from Globalism want him out of the Oval Office. I have not seen a President do as much in two administration during my lifetime as TRUMP has done in ONE: to the benefit of the American worker, family, and small business owner.
His re-election will go a long way to eradicate the Vermin who reside in the Swamp.

        He deserves our support. 🙂

Try funding a global network of above and below ground bases on anything less? A story – I was in Africa for work. I would walk past a vast US base bristling with high tech comms.

In and out taxis and mini buses shuttled very well dressed Americans (mostly Millennial dudes with beards and skinny pants).

Down the road I would eat steak (really good steak) with special forces guys. America is All Over Africa these days. That costs.

Is it the right thing to do? Yup. Imagine a world run by anyone else but America? It would lack freedom.

Bill it directly to Israehell. It was all for their benefit.
