Orwellian Future: Facial Recognition & Mass Surveillance Is Coming To U.S. Schools

Do you LOVE America?

We are staring our Orwellian future right in the face.  Beginning in New York, facial recognition is coming to schools in the United States and it’ll be switched on for testing next week.

The dystopian future George Orwell warned about in his accidental historical predictions book, 1984, has arrived. According to an article by Engadget, the Lockport City School District in New York will start testing a facial and object recognition system called “Aegis” on June 3rd. According to BuzzFeed News, that will make it the first in the U.S. to pilot a facial recognition mass surveillance system on its students and faculty.

The district installed cameras and the software suite back in September, using $1.4 million of the $4.2 million funding it received through the New York Smart Schools Bond Act. Funding provided through the Bond Act is supposed to go towards instructional tech devices, such as iPads and laptops, but the district clearly had other plans. –Engadget

BuzzFeed News got its hands on a copy of a letter distributed to the students’ parents, and it describes Aegis as “an early warning system” that can notify officials of threats.  But that’s the propagandized version of what the system is in reality: it’s a mass surveillance tool being sold to the public as “safety” as with any human rights infringement. The system, created by Canadian company SN Technologies, can apparently keep track of certain individuals in school grounds.

Schools have long been indoctrination centers and it doesn’t look like that trend will be reversed anytime soon, in fact, it’s being amplified. The system can identify students and staff who’ve been suspended, but it’s unclear if Lockport will use it to monitor those who’ve been suspended over non-violent offenses. Aegis claims that it will delete all footage after 60 days and it won’t record the movements of students, staff, and visitors that aren’t in the list of individuals to monitor. That said, the system will have to analyze everyone’s faces to identify people it will have to “keep an eye on.”  So in truth, this system monitors everyone and is mass surveillance packed up to sound like security.

It’s difficult to believe anyone falls for this anymore, but the truth is treason in an empire of lies.  Anyone who’s read even a small amount of history knows there’s no benevolence to this at all. It’s an authoritarian dystopian system that seeks to monitor everyone at all times, and it’s coming to all schools.

There are, fortunately, some other people out there who understand just how invasive and this human rights trampling system has become. Stefanie Coyle, an education counsel for the New York Civil Liberties Union, told BuzzFeed News that the organization asked the New York State Education Department to block the project. After all, San Francisco banned the technology, and it’s a city filled with tech companies that understand it best. “Why in the world would we want this to come to New York,” she added, “and in a place where there are children?”

      1. The mindless sheeple sending their children to public schools to be brainwashed and made ignorant to the truth. What a wasteland this will become in a decade or two.Scumbag traitors and foreign trash destroying our country. I hope I go out covered in their foul blood with some of them still screaming in agony.

        • Menzo, you got that right! Honestly, if parents are still sending their children to government schools what the hell difference does this make? The parents are truly today’s ‘useful idiots’.

      2. Maybe they will catch Joe Biden lurking in the bushes?

        • He will never be caught, no matter how many bushes or on center stage.

      3. LMFAO

      4. I read the book 1984. We are just about there……

        • I don’t believe that sci-fi is original. I believe, sci-fi is a reductionist, logically-extreme version of the time, in which it was written. 1984 was 1949.

      5. Get out of the cities!
        Let them all die.

      6. Have you looked at young people these days? In cities the majority are not white. They are the source of most crime. Definitely put them under surveillance and parse their data. Track them, watch them and f with them so they can’t cause trouble.

As society becomes older, these violent kids will think it is their time. Crush that before it gets started.

        • Frank,
I really don’t give a shit about race.
          I care about culture.
          Black culture is BAD!
          I’m a WASP and I get along
          with everybody but American
          Black culture practitioners and
          Moslems, another Black culture.
I like Russians and I used to be able to speak
          conversational Chinese(Madarin).
I do not like Democrats, another
          black culture.

          • Rellik;

It’s the inner city “Ghetto” culture that’s BAD!

          • When we watched fictional movies, like Narnia and the Star Wars cantina scene, noone was bending over backwards to convince you that these were all the same specie.

They were judged on their agency, motives, and the way their specie was normally expected to act.

            • What?

              • That was called double entendre, on my end. And, I see that you’re something different from me.

I have things to do, folks.

          • “I do not like Democrats, another black culture”

            LOLOL!!! Good one, Rellik.

Everyone: JUST GET OUT OF THE CITIES!

            • In the writings of early explorers, *Democrats were prone to self extinction and their hovels will return to nature without the welfare state.

Those who come later have been called urban pioneers (with indie heat and food) and literal wildlife running through the place. I saw fowl, rabbits, and deer. And, civilized races eventually gentrify the ruins.

This has happened in the last 2 generations, already.

          • Rellik, you know I’m with you on that.

        • Frank;

What makes you think the surveillance is only for monitoring and catching “bad guys”?

      7. At this time, parents still have power. Although, not as much as they did 100 years ago.

The school system’s vulnerability is that it receives approximately $30.00 per day per student ATTENDING class. And loses money every time a student is absent.

If the parents object to anything they can effectively put pressure on the school by a mass walkout, sickout, keeping Johnny home.

There are truancy laws but there are ways to make the school sit up and listen. Withdraw your child from any school that violates his civil liberties.

        • The parents are the problem, not the solution. Why would families try to save a system clearly designed to destroy them?

          • “The parents are the problem, not the solution”

Too many parents are trying to be their kids friend instead of being their parents;HUGE DIFFERENCE..
Too many parents have done their kids a disservice by spoiling them rotten and as soon as those kids get away from the sheltered environment their parents raised them in,something called REALITY slaps them directly in their mouths, and the kids are not capable of handling it..That’s when the temper tantrums come into play that have become the norm for the past two generations..

          • They have an instinctual understanding of their role in the social food chain.

The best possible outcome may be to leave these 99% to their fool’s errands, and to speak to them on their own level.

      8. I went to a HS in the early to mid 70s where the savages ran extortion rings shaking down the small and weak for their lunch money. The good news is that by 11th grade many quit or got a pension, whatever came first, because almost all stayed back several times. Several took their skills and applied it to a future career in armed robbery and drug dealing. HS has juveniles (well not all) which aren’t entitled to the complete Bill Of Rights. I’ll likely get chewed up for this view but this is in the case of a HS, especially a notorious one, the “lesser of evils”.

        • I will tell you why the cameras don’t work.

If you ever read, independently, in your whole life (school was like jury duty). The gangs, pirates, ninja thugs, and mafias, throughout history (which is what you are basically writing about) were contractors — public private partnerships, with explicit permissions from the state, or from the teacher.

I’ve had people sent to me, directly, sometimes, literally dumped at my feet.

If you pay attention, as in looking someone in the face as they are talking to you (nobody else looks, in class) if you keep lifting weights during the summer, or are otherwise active (everyone loses their gains, like they were in a plaster cast) this is intimidating and abnormal. (They way you are nominally suppose to act.) And, they will want to use for an asset.

The cameras don’t work, because the authorities will want a criminal like me.

If you are told to commit acts on someone who you went to Sunday school with, whose father you knew and respected, then, honor works.

        • Kevin2, your HS sounds a lot like the one I went to. I know where you’re coming from and will back you up on your view because IT’S THE TRUTH.

      9. I distinctly remember maggots in the mashed potatoes, not hot enough to kill them, and gopher skeleton burgers, green lunchmeat water, and day old fast food refuse being offered as the alternative to an open campus. The woodshop bar clamp that was longer than a shiv. And, mine will not be coming to public schools.

tfw — that homeschooled and well-put-together spelling bee champ and winner of science fairs looks at the abrasive ghetto people…

        It’s not maladjusted.

You have put over-achievers through gladiator-school-tier chickenshit. ‘Chaka is our friend’, is not an adequate excuse.

      10. CW, I used to have ‘maggots’ aka troublemakers for lunch when I was in HS, LOL!

        • Sometimes, they are sent to you. What if you take them up, on that.

          • In the abstract, this is like when the soldiers are given a job, then are tried for committing a crime.

      11. “In all countries, in all centuries, the primary reason for government to set up schools is to undermine the politically weak by convincing their children that the leaders are good and their policies are wise.” ~ Marshall Fritz
“And what is a good citizen? Simply one who never says, does or thinks anything that is unusual. Schools are maintained in order to bring this uniformity up to the highest possible point. A school is a hopper into which children are heaved while they are still young and tender; therein they are pressed into certain standard shapes and covered from head to heels with official rubber-stamps.” ~ H.L. Mencken
“Governments have ever been known to hold a high hand over the education of the people. They know, better than anyone else, that their power is based almost entirely on the school. Hence, they monopolize it more and more.” ~ Francisco Ferrer
“Wherever is found what is called a paternal government, there is found state education. It has been discovered that the best way to insure implicit obedience is to commence tyranny in the nursery.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli

        • Is there a practical alternative, or would all those historical govts have collapsed, first.
