A man who attempted to sign up for Obamacare online was told that a fine of over $4,000 dollars a year for refusing to take out mandatory health insurance could be taken directly from his bank account, and that his drivers license would be suspended and a federal tax lien placed against his home, according to an entry on the HealthCare.gov Facebook page.
If true, the implementation of Obamacare is going to be a whole lot more draconian than Americans have been led to believe.
Will Sheehan claims that when he tried to sign up for Obamacare and then register to opt out, he received an ominous warning. Sheehan’s full Facebook post reads;
“I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 A.M. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually I chose tier 2 “Silver Plan” and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I “opt-out” and chose to continue along with no insurance.
I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return. Then you make it to the “REPERCUSSIONS PORTION” for “non-payment” of yearly fine. First, your drivers license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with “Non-Payment” and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home. You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy “Automatically withdraw” your “penalties” weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is “Free” or even “Affordable.”
Sheehan went on to point out that the site makes you input all your personal information before giving you an indication of the costs, meaning a database of the “uninsured” is being built. He added that he could not afford to pay the premium so would have to break the law and pay the fine, leaving him with no health care coverage.
The federal government has consistently denied that any fines pertaining to Obamacare non-compliance could be seized from bank accounts, despite reports last year that the IRS had hired 16,500 new agents to harass citizens who attempt to evade the new law.
“There’s no criminal sanctions for not paying this, and there’s no ability to levy a bank account or do seizures,” then-IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman said in April 2010.
In addition, Americans who refuse to pay for mandatory health insurance “shall not be subject to any criminal prosecution,” according to the law itself.
Section 1501(g)(2) of the Affordable Care Act also states that the IRS cannot “file notice of lien with respect to any property of a taxpayer by reason of any failure to pay the penalty imposed by this section.”
EIther Sheehan’s claim that he received this notice is a lie, or the feds have been dishonest with the American people all along, and the revolt against Obamacare is about to take “don’t tread on me” to a whole new level.

Husband goes to DR. with back problems and restless legs. Dr. prescribed Gabapenten.
Husband takes pill but gets referred to a Ortho guy AND a Neurologist.
The Ortho does a scan and finds degenerative discs. Husband does not want surgery. Ortho refers husband to a pain management specialist. Husband gets shot in back and feels better.
Meanwhile the Neurologist says keep taking the Gabapenten and tells him he has neuropothy.
About on month goes buy and husband is getting very angry and depressed. We read the side effects of the drug and find it can cause severe depression, aggressive behavior, loss of coordination, suicidal tendencies, etc. BAD DRUG. Stops taking it.
We go to website for Dr. J. Wright and find that B 100’s and Alpha Lipoic Acid work for neuropathy. Husband takes those and they work better than the prescription.
Total cost to us? $20.00 to original doctor who did nothing but refer and $40.00 each for 3 specialist and $195.00 for the shot in the back.

To clarify, they didn’t actually vote obamacare in. They deemed it passed, in essence hung it out for the other party do something about it, which said other (ha) party did……not.
My current insurance runs $300 for catastrophic coverage, with $6k annual deductible.
New plan: $755/yr. with $12k annual deductible. More than double the costs and annual out of,pocket. Thanks for the savings.
Now, as if that were not enough off an a$$ rape, I looked on kaiser foundation cost calculator (tried to do the exchange thingy so I could see costs, alas, wouldn’t let me register. So, anyhoo, the cost estimate for the same insurance is…$11k annual with $12k out of pocket annual, but I magically qualify for a $4kish subsidy to offset the cost.
So, my insurance, via “free”market (work with me here) and Obama’s benevolent exchanges costs me the same, but the insurance company (or someone) pockets an additional $4k? No wonder the healthdontcare industry lobbied to the tune of $1.6 billion to get this thing deemed passed without our esteemed representatives reading in graphic detail how we the people would be fu$ked by this.
Oh, we all, well maybe not all, Know about the lean years that started this year. Wifey pointed out that this may very well be the vehicle that leaning starts with. Think about it, government taking, via threat of violence, more of your property, or worse enforcing their self given right to your property should you resist. What does joe average have to cough up to keep uncle happy? put off college to pay helth insurance? perhaps put off a move, or fixing that car, or, shudder, start a business, or prepare better? Silent protest will work for a while. Congress has RULES that they are to abide by. One of those rules is that a bill has to be posted 48 hours in advance to THEY ALL CAN READ IT. The days of politicians being public servants is long past also. Greed and cronyism has become the main focus of government. Re election at any cost (so they can keep their fingers in the public pie)is their only concern. Whether you have health care, food or whatever is not their problem. It seems to me that to run for public office at any level requires that you check your personal honor and integrity at the door. The big question is…what lies in the future. Can the people who aren’t content living on the gov dole, value liberty and opportunity, take back control of the situation or will it have to wait until we make a smoking hole in the ground and recover from the ashes. My observation makes me think that no one will want to upset the apple cart. Things seem ok now. They have a job, house, 2 cars and so on. It will probably take a big smack in the face to make many realize there is a big problem here and now. If not addressed soon it might be too late to prevent the catastrophic event that will reshape our government for better or worse. My 2 cents.

Most of what you said is true. I watched in Washington State as they groomed McDermit. He started small and got big. They spent time and money on him every election he was in and he won.

But, you can make a difference. We supported Ted Cruz after meeting him and talking with him at an open house. He was not supported by the Republican party and he is not a Tea Party member, he’s just Ted and he believes this country can be great once again. So we went out and canvased, called and talked to our neighbors. HE won! We are proud that we got someone outside the mainstream political machine elected and it really didn’t take that much time. However, if you don’t view it as a handout but instead as a way to be as costly as you can to the government, to make them expend their resources faster so they will exhaust themselves sooner, as Quick advocates, also makes sense.
Perhaps if you combined both your views and strengths you might be able to cause some real damage. Say find a way to work off the books so your declared income goes down yet your take-home remains the same and still drawing welfare? Thanks AE, sorry to hear you have been through it also. The biggest problem is that they are breaking the law in the MERS scandal, yet the courts still side w/ them. Anyone who has a MERS loan, will never, I repeat NEVER, hold a clear title to their property. To top it off, the property has been paid for in full at least 2-3 times over. The sell the deed over and over, the true owner is never known. This is why you will never own it, even if you go to your bank and pay it off in full w/ cash. The deed is lost. My bank could not produce the original mortgage, so had no standing to foreclose, well, try telling that to the judge. In a way, I am glad I lost it, before I payed it off in full, only to never to hold a clear title.

Yes, in Canada we have socialized health care and our idea of medical insurance is to cover stuff like parts of the costs for prescriptions and dental, private hospital rooms and on-room TV. This way everyone has some kind of no-out-of-pocket healthcare available but out system could be made better should some competition be allowed. Our ER wait times are obscene and people can wait for months or even years for an MRI or surgery, even life saving ones.
Hell, the only way I got timely MRI’s after I dislocated my shoulder (both times) was because the military was footing the bill and that put me at the front of the line.
Are out taxes fairly high to pay for health care? Yes. However I do think our system is superior to the American one where on,y the wealthy or the completely broke can get comprehensive health care without going bankrupt, especially now that Obamacare is in place.
Did you need an MRI for a simple dislocation? 1st responders can reposition the shoulder joint with simple leverage techniques. People who have lax ligaments and spontaneously dislocate their shoulder or hip joints, learn to reposition them by themselves in an emergency.
For a rotator cuff injury, I’m unsure even an MRI can do more than tell you that yep! You tore some muscle and ligaments and we are going to let it heal, advise use of ice and heat, send you to PT and make sure you stretch those ligaments and mobilize the joint. The worst case in this instance will come from adhesions due to immobility. The surgical fix creates more scar tissue, repositions attachments, creating new instabilities and stresses and can leave you with even less mobility.
Just to point out that MRIs et al aren’t always needed. They can often be a profit point and in the US we have imaging businesses that set up in strip malls and operate like assembly lines. Simple orthopedic injuries have been successfully treated with stretching, heat, ice, contrast therapy (alternating heat and cold) and manual manipulation (chiro/PT) or massage for a long, long time.
For preppers, it is a good idea to become acquainted with musculoskeletal anatomy and to understand human body mechanics. It will first of all keep us from having many initial injuries and allow us to know how to help each other and ourselves if we are injured. Perhaps finding a medical massage therapist to give some instruction to you, your family and/or your team would be helpful. Alternatively, finding a competent medical massage therapist, who are not covered by insurance in most states, will give you a health provider who is not reporting your records to the government. Just knowing how to lift and how to leverage your own body weight will be great knowledge when technological medical assistance is unavailable.

I would have voted for Ron Paul if he had been on the ballot. I don’t get a choice in the primaries. By the time I get to vote, most of the candidates have dropped out. So I have no choice. There’s never a choice in my area except in the Democrat primaries. I used to be registered Democrat just so I could screw with the primaries. I have voted for Jesse Jackson in the past.

But the law makes no provision for the IRS to take any action to seize assets except to withhold the amount of the penalty (1% of MAGI or $95) per person which ever is greater – if there is a refund due. Otherwise they can’t do anything about it.
Then again expecting the IRS to obey the law is a whole other issue.
When people purposely spread misinformation it only serves to weaken the legitimate argument that this law really is a mess.
Another option may be that the company running the program where this guy is, gets paid by the victim.

I think things changed greatly when John Roberts upheld and altered the law on his own by making it a “tax”. Now it is subject to the same reules of enforcement as if you refuse to pay your income taxes. We are approaching dark times no matter how anyone looks at it, and those who still wear their blinders and refuse to open their eyes are either ignorant, evil, or both. I read almost every article on this site (and many others of the kind) and I read many of the comments. I wait. I wait for the right commenter, the right article, the right spark to ignite a fire in the hearts of each and every one of us who are awake and ready to fight. I wait for the straw to break the camel’s back. But it doesn’t come. I close this site each time with a feeling of disappointment that I didn’t read true inspiration. Then I go on with my life. I go back to work the next day and I continue to spend worthless money and pay my taxes and feed into this system that we all despise.
I believe that every digital signature that we make is recorded; the things we buy, the people we talk to, and I KNOW that we are all on a list somewhere. They want us living in fear. I am a man of faith and I know that God has a purpose for each and every one of us. This is not some conspiracy theory either, as one can see the type of questions on these forms from government help to BO care you would have to fill out. This is pure sh$%. Those that are trying to defund BO care are working towards the ultimate goal of preventing a freedom grab.

1. How can we afford to pay subsidies for millions of people when we are already borrowing around 50% of what we spend as a nation.
2. People can’t afford the premiums in many cases even with the subsidy no less the penalties when there has been no real cost of living increase for the middle class in 20 years.
3. This beast is inherently flawed– folks who would qualify for medicaid will be paying more (because they don’t get a subsidy in many states because they chose not to take the medicaid expansion $$$)than people right above the medicaid eligibility threshhold.
4. This has quite a few elements of being a ponzi because the whole premise of it being anywhere near working is if the majority of young adults sign up for it.
5. This is going to be a nightmare if say your income increases and and you continue to receive the premium subsidies resulting in a huge amount owed on April 15.
6. Employers will continue to fire employees, reduce work hours or in the case of small business just shut down. The penalty for not providing health insurance if you have over 50 FTEs (full time employees)(and that is a huge sticky point on what accounts for a FTE– could be PTEs adding up to a FTE. If you get it wrong- you are paying a penalty on the gross income not net from what I’ve read. A lot of businesses have very low profit margins based on high volumes. But it gets even better because if that immigration bill passes then they will be able to hire all the recently legalized folks and not pay a penalty.
I expect Christmas shopping season to suck and 2014 there will be no denying we are in a depression…

Charles Perrow, Professor Emeritus of Sociology from Yale University cautions: “Conditions in the unit 4 pool, 100 feet from the ground, are perilous, and if any two of the rods touch it could cause a nuclear reaction that would be uncontrollable. The radiation emitted from all these rods, if they are not continually cool and kept separate, would require the evacuation of surrounding areas including Tokyo. Because of the radiation at the site the 6,375 rods in the common storage pool could not be continuously cooled; they would fission and all of humanity will be threatened, for thousands of years.” In early stages of the Fukushima disaster Tepco, under influence of the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (NISA), tried to keep the full ramifications of Fukushima under wraps, and now the entire country faces a possible trillion dollar price tag and multiple decades of active clean up to make this go away, but that will all be a moot point if the fuel rods aren’t removed properly. All the boron between spent fuel rods has disintegrated.
This means a nuclear chain reaction could ensue if the rods get too close together in the pools, causing nuclear mayhem like we’ve never endured. In less than two months, Tepco plans to try to remove these rods, admitting that they haven’t the expertise or resources to do it perfectly – and that is what it would take – absolute perfection. According to globalreasearch.ca, “Some 400 tons of fuel in that pool could spew out more than 15,000 times as much radiation as was released at Hiroshima. More than 6,000 fuel assemblies now sit in a common pool just 50 meters from Unit Four. Some contain plutonium. The pool has no containment over it. It’s vulnerable to loss of coolant, the collapse of a nearby building, another earthquake, another tsunami and more.” Overall, more than 11,000 fuel assemblies are scattered around the Fukushima site. According to long-time expert and former Department of Energy official Robert Alvarez, there is more than 85 times as much lethal cesium on site as was released at Chernobyl.” This is no time for Tepco or the Japanese government to try to save face, or the world to turn the other cheek. If we don’t treat this as a global disaster it would be like waiting for the Russians to start nuclear war back in the 1980s – or worse. During our lifetime, all Presidents have issued Executive Orders for various reasons, some have issued more than others.
YES, THERE IS A REASON THAT THE PRESIDENT IS DETERMINED TO TAKE CONTROL AWAY FROM THE HOUSE AND THE SENATE.
Even some Democrats in the House now have turned on him, plus a very small number of Democrat Senators have questioned him. Rightfully so –

What did Congress do in those 40 months? (The House – considerable. The Senate almost nothing, not even a budget nor allow any House
Bill to be considered.) The democratically-controlled senate is like Nero watching Rome burn!
Now look at these:
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10990 allows the government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10995 allows the government to seize and control the communication media.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10998 allows the government to take over all food resources and farms.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11001 allows the government to take over all health, education and welfare functions.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002 designates the registration of all persons. Postmaster General to operate a national registration.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11003 allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate communities, build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be abandoned, and establish new locations for populations.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11005 allows the government to take over railroads, inland waterways and public storage facilities.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11049 assigns emergency preparedness function to federal departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issued over a fifteen year period.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11051 specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11921 allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms production and distribution, of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit and the flow of money in U.S. financial institution in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when a state of emergency is declared by the President, Congress cannot review the action for six months.
Feel free to verify the “executive orders” at will…..and these are just the major ones. I’m sure you’ve all heard the tale of the “Frog in the Pot”… Watch Obama’s actions, not his words! By his actions he will show you where America is headed.

The gov can try and take over but my feeling and the general consensus in multiple discussions is that it will be an epic failure even if foreign troops are involved.

Just too damn big a force, not to mention ability, some old coot wielding an old 30-06 would drop 5 of these fuckers before they even figured out where the shots were coming from, let alone getting ambushed by a bunch of guys who have had it and are just plain pissed off and have been training with their group for the last few years.
If they try to usurp this sort of power it will be game on and EVERYBODY will know it. I have recently spoken with a few folks who are “in the handout system”
From what i can gather their sense of country and patriotism far outweighs their loyalty to a false leader. There are also “libs” who are patriotic, and who also have a penchant for firearms and defense of self and family and look upon these developments with a skeptical eye just as much as myself or some of the other outspoken regulars on SHTF.
So I think if the government wanted to, they could try to take everything over.
Would they succeed? Maybe here and there, but in the long run? No way! They will eat shit, there are too many of US on the inside with THEM, they just maybe dont realize it yet.

I think your general sentiment is pretty good, but as pointed out below, the Executive Order specs are way off. Obama’s numbers look fairly average for the recent presidents and nothing compared to some of the earlier foundational orders by the Roosevelts/etc.

When something sounds to good to be true it usually is. Insurance companies always use any excuse to raise rates. They never stay the same or get cheaper. So I state it again Liar Liar pants on fire. Nobody with common sense believes you.
Sounds lile this guy is doing something wrong or reading something wrong.The fine for not signing up is 95 bucksmonth or 1% .I dont see how he got 4k should be more like 400.

It is not gonna make it to 2015, let alone 2016, folks.
Not only can you not get into the system, it is obviously unable to do proper calculations. Yes there will be a fine (tax) and yes like all taxes owed to the Feds, they can take it from your bank account and do all sorts of things if you don’t pay them. However, the law clearly states that the fine will be 1 percent of your income the first year, 2 percent the second and 2.5 percent the third. The way I calculate that, you would owe $450 the first year and $900 the second year. I am not joining their scam and will pay the fine. If enough people don’t sign up it will cause the entire thing to fail, because the insurance companies are depending on all of the healthy people signing up to offset the sick ones. OPTOUT.
Yes if everyone who is against the health care just pays the fine it would collapse. Myself other than the normal wear and tear expected in someone my age who did mostly physical work. Im pretty healthy. I don’t smoke and drink very little And im not obese or fat. We mainly grow all of our food. I haven’t been to a doctor except to get my Health card( Cost $65). It,s Mandatory when driving a semi truck. and since I quit driving truck two years ago I haven’t went to the doctor at all. The Health care should have a Means test. Why should some healthy person be taxed to pay for the sickley and the sickly be allowed to keep their assets and maintain a certain lifestyle?
