Not-So-Shocking Poll: Americans Hate The Government Almost As Much As They Hate Big Pharma

Do you LOVE America?

In a new and not shocking poll, Americans said they hate the government almost as much as they hate big pharma. Considering both are in each other’s back pocket, that makes complete sense and no one should be surprised by this.

America hates big pharma and the government.  No surprise there. But the pharmaceutical industry is hated slightly more. It ranked last in favorability among Americans, according to a new poll conducted by Gallup. This year marked the lowest net positivity rating (the difference between people who say they like the industry and those who dislike the industry) that the pharmaceutical industry has had since Gallup started polling in 2001. Big Pharma’s -31 net positivity rating was so low, only a handful of industries had been ranked lower. Other hated sectors include the federal government, and oil and gas companies

America’s distaste for the scandal-plagued pharmaceutical industry isn’t without reason. Earlier this year, Congress grilled pharma leaders for the high cost of prescription drugs. An Oklahoma judge recently ordered Johnson & Johnson pay $572 million for its role in the opioid epidemic. Novartis and other major pharma companies stopped developing life-saving medicine for lack of profit. –Middle Town Press

The federal government had been last or tied last on Gallup’s poll since 2011. This year, it ranks as the second least favorable industry. They were close to as hated as Big Pharma with a net positivity rating of -27.  With the increasing levels of authoritarian controls and demands for people to give up their liberty and freedom in exchange for a police state, it really shouldn’t come as a surprise.  Humans were not meant to be slaves and those in the United States may slowly be waking up to the reality they’ve found themselves in.

Hopefully, the government and industries that it protects, such as Big Pharma will never recover and only see their rating drop. It’s easier to enslave people when they are addicted to drugs and that addiction fuels Big Pharma’s profits. It’s a neverending circle of profits for Big Pharma and death and enslavement for everyone else.

The author of No Treason: The Constitution of No Authority was an anti-authoritarian philosopher and legal theorist who had spent his earlier life vigorously campaigning against slavery. Following the American Civil War however, he became horrified at the brutality and carnage that had been unleashed. Redoubling his criticisms, Spooner asserts his dismay that the U.S. government was rendered inert by its Constitution – slavery was only abolished after a long and bloody war, whereas had it been forbade at the outset, no such conflict would have arisen.

A strong proponent of natural law – the concept that all humans had rights endowed at the point of their birth – Spooner had a sense of revulsion at how American politics had ensued in the early-to-mid 19th century. It was thus that No Treason was written in the hope of moderating the Constitution to ensure that slavery and bloody recriminations for secession would never again occur.

      1. Each of the rights enumerated leaves wiggle room for a conditional exception to that right.

        A1 —
        ‘Congress shall make no law’
(What about the other branches and levels of govt)

        A2 —
        ‘well-regulated’ (infringed)
        ‘shall not be infringed’

        A3 —
‘but in a manner to be prescribed by ‘law’
(Whose version of the law, or who is the lawmaker.)

        A4 —
‘but upon ‘probable cause’, supported by oath or affirmation’
(They ‘smell’ the contraband, or you were acting funny, according to their personal whim. This is a high crime area, according to an imaginary friend, the anonymous tipster. Surrender your natural rights, for safety reasons. The reasons were imagined in a psychotic break or ‘parallel construction’ or on-the-spot warrant.)

        A5 —
        “except…
        without ‘due process’ of ‘law’
        ‘…without ‘just’ compensation.’

And, every power given is counterbalanced by a separate but coequal branch of govt.

        Are you being Delphied?

      4. I acknowledge that to some degree the government represents the people. So this survey really says a significant part of our population doesn’t like a lot of their fellow Americans. The real failure was we did not kill the Democrat party after we defeated them in the civil war. We should have obliterated the party and killed all of it leaders. Not that the Republicans are all that great as any government is a burden to individual liberty, but they are certainly better than the socialist/Democrats we presently have running the show and tearing our society apart.
The big question is what are we going to do about it?
Soap box, Ballot box, and finally Ammo box.

        • @rellik

In our system I believe there is one more box before the Ammo Box and it is kind of where a lot of us are…the Jury Box.

This fits the cute word progression, but is actually the judge’s box more than the jury’s. We are in a struggle in the judicial system to give it one more go at establishing the RoL through the Constitution.

If/When that approach fails, then we are faced w/ the End of All Days for the US.

          <bb

          • The judges and the lawyers only want jurors that will rubber stamp , whatever they want in their kangaroo courts .

          • BB, the ammo box is all we have left, period. BTW, I’m in GA permanently since the last week of July.

            • TDR;

              Violence only produces MORE violence.

Look no further than our inner cities across America where the culture is to fight first and negotiate last.
              How’s that been working out?

        • Rellik, uh, I love what you do but you got 2 things backwards. it was Lincoln and the Republican Party who gave us out-of-control unlimited government during and after the civil war. In those days Dems were the exact opposite of today’s Dems so the Republicans should’ve been eliminated. And we’re NOT represented in govt. period. Old Guy is always saying there’s no viable political solution to our problem and he’s right. Civil war 2 is coming, like it or not.

          • DR,
            Stepping on eggs here.
Lincoln and the North did things they should have been
killed for. I never felt bad about his assassination. Some southerners were far more ethical and honorable.
The slave issue should have been solved way sooner as we imported a bunch of people that even today are problems.
My wife’s family Irish “slaves” are much better people than
            Oprah’s slave ancestors.
It is not due to race. It is culture.
I’m a white guy. I can get along with Chinese, Indians, Koreans far better than Nigerians.
            Y’all figure it out.

      5. The 8 most terrifying words in the english language!

“We are from the government and here to help”

      6. So just where is all this opioid lawsuit money going? Multi-millions just handed over to cities, counties and states with no questions asked.

      7. I don’t buy it. Congressman and Senators get re-elected at high percentages. A factory worker in Indiana has a far less chance of retaining employment. I do believe many dislike the other guys representative but apparently like their own.

      8. a Shocking poll??

        not shocking to me.

      9. When has big pharma pointed. or threatened to point, a gun at anyone?

      10. The US is a military dictatorship. Big Pharma fits the mold perfectly as they both work hand in hand to control our major asset, our health.

      11. I don’t believe that most Americans hate the government. Over half of American households receive some kind of monthly check from the government.
