We knew it was only a matter of time, since the United States has put no restrictions on international travel.

Ebola has now been confirmed in Dallas, Texas.

The United States has one confirmed case of Ebola, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Tuesday, marking the first domestic appearance of the deadly virus that has ravaged swaths of continental Africa.

The as-yet unidentified patient is located in Dallas, officials say, effectively confirming a statement issued on Monday by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. The organization said that an unnamed patient was being tested for Ebola and had been placed in “strict isolation” due to the patient’s symptoms and recent travel history.

“The patient is an adult with a recent history of travel to West Africa,” said Texas’ Department of State Health Services, in a statement. “The patient developed symptoms days after returning to Texas from West Africa and was admitted into isolation on Sunday at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.” (source)

Last night Mac Slavo of SHTFplan broke the story that a patient had been admitted to the hospital with the tell-tale symptoms and suspect travel history.

Multiple news sources are reporting that an individual showing symptoms of the Ebola virus has been admitted to a hospital in Dallas, Texas. The patient, whose travel history suggests he or she may have been exposed to the virus, has been isolated and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas says it is following testing and quarantine procedures outlined by the Centers for Disease Control.

Test samples have been sent to the CDC and preliminary test results are expected Tuesday morning. (source)

If you haven’t already finalized your preparations for a pandemic, now is the time. The following is an excerpt from an article written on September 15, 2014.

    What You Need Right Now

Right now, before panic ensues, you need to ensure that you have everything you need to survive as though the world we know has ended. You need to be prepared to stay in your home for weeks, if not months. You need to be ready for a potential disruption of services.

Best case scenario: You get these supplies,  the outbreak never occurs, and you can dole them out into your regular usage or stash them with your prepper stockpile while snickering at the crazy preppers.

Worst case scenario: You read this warning, you do nothing, and then the outbreak occurs. You realize that the prepper folks aren’t so crazy after all. But by then, it will be too late to stock up.

Following is a list of supplies that you may soon need:

In the event you have no choice but to leave your home, Mac Slavo recommends the following:

If you’re forced to exit your home, you’re going to want to be fully protected, and that includes covering your hands, eyes, nose, and mouth.

In addition to the N-95 respirator masks mentioned above, you may also consider upgrading to the more expensive N-100 respirators recommended by the World Health Organization.

Or, go with a full facemask. Insofar as your preparedness efforts are concerned, you may also be able to kill two birds with one stone here and go with a full face mask that includes NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) protection like the US-made NATO SGE 400/3 Military Gas Mask.  If going with such a mask, be sure to include some NBC filters.

If a family member becomes ill, Tess Pennington of  Ready Nutrition recommends building a sick room that can be used to isolate suspected infections or even to be used as a quarantine/observation area for friends and family who may be coming to your home as part of your group lockdown plan.

Building a sick room may include supplies like:

    Don’t wait.

Don’t wait until it’s too late. By the time the CDC gets around to offering checklists to the rest of us, items like these will be in short supply. If you are unprepared, you’ll be at the mercy of organizations like FEMA, who will be doling out water bottles and MREs to those who are likewise hungry and thirsty.

      1. They have given us orders to let your bodies rot on the street. You are reading this, living in Dallas you already have it. They have let it loose. It will strike next in Houston. It will be bigger and badder than Dallas. Dallas is just a test run. Houston is the target.

        • It better not infect JJ Watt. He’s my favorite defensive player in the NFL.

          • Ebola = Obama

            • Not really Iowa. Ebola’s actually very effective.

              • This is a prime example of when exponential growth can be a very bad thing.

                • Excellent article Daisy! You are a voice of reason – calm and encouraging.

I hope the CDC and other staff are checking the PETS of people that have been exposed to Ebola.

According to this article, they have found that DOGS can be carriers of Ebola, but show no symptoms. What other pets/animals could also be carriers? Cats?

Has Ebola found a new way to spread?

“Dr. Stephen Korsman of the University of Cape Town’s medical virology division tells News 24 that dogs can be infected with the Ebola virus but that “infections appear to be ASYMPTOMATIC.”

“This means that dogs won’t get sick, but they still could carry a potential risk through licking or biting…”

              • Dammit! Silver just tanked again, it’s < $17.00/oz. Should I buy stacks or masks?

                • Buy silver mask will not help any.

                • Buy Kevlar Head Saver Scarfs.

                  • Just cover your head with a big black berka and wear a long black flowing dress/garment, w/ combat boots. You will be perceived as a muslim warrior woman.

The Muslim men won’t mess with you because they had rather have little boys and goats, and the American people will shower you with appeasement and p.c. rhetoric as you walk by.

not to mention all the fringe benefits you can scarf up at the Social Services Dept; with a couple dirty rug rats in tow. Just play dumb and mumble, and the SS workers are trained to fill out/falsify, all the paperwork for you and even show you how to vote.

No body will even come close enough to you to infect you with even the common cold, much less ebola or aids, because they are now afraid of people dressed as such, and only see them as; brandishing a razor sharp machete to lop off their heads.

Welcome to the new world of disorder.
                    With a million muslim refugees lined up for importation to the USA;
Coming soon to a Walmarket near you.
If you can’t beat ’em, dress up like ’em.

                • I buy silver when I have extra money regardless of the price. Of course, I’m fully prepared too.

                • Depends. If you have masks already, then buy silver. If not then you are a bit late to the game and need to buy masks IMMEDIATELY. Go buy them right now. Don’t wait or it will be too late.

                • BOTH…….buy REAL gas masks with NATO quality or better FRESH filters…and silver…….if the dollar tanks more or people lose faith in it the US is screwed! the masks will keep for years and silver never goes bad. Buy BOTH…and a Berkey water system, any size with extra filters. Spend wisely but don’t risk you life on CHEAP CRAP…

With that in mind and coupled w/ the recently opined quotes in various media..that many West Africans believe that the current epidemic, is due to a USA / E.U. plot to depopulate the region w/ weaponized Ebola!

Best post I’ve read in some time.

                • Hunter

Great post. Has a lot of food for thought in it. I really like it when we are all helping each other. That is the way it should be.

I have had one worry from the start of prepping. We are all spread out. No way to unify in the current situation. We do have larger numbers than they do. Then there are a lot of people who have never done anything but rely on government. Those are the ones that will be starving when services go down and we will have to fight them too.

We will have to fight gorilla style. Small teams. Even two man teams. Remember fire 2 or 3 shots and evacuate the danger zone. Harass and probe them constantly. Don’t let the enemy get sleep. Put road blocks and obstacles in there path at every turn. If you have a group or community then destroy all easy transportation routes into your area. ( rail roads, bridges, roads ) Fill all access points with trees, boulders, nails, ect. Also learn how to set up traps. Take out some by trip wires and such. Fight fire with fire. Try to contaminate there supplies if possible.

Just food for thought for all on here. It would be nice if we were all banded together but I see know way to make that happen.

Never give up, Never give in, and we will win.

                  • Agree Mike, look what one guy in Pennsylvania has done so far eluding 100’s of cops, that is one guy!I really don’t know a lot of his background or his reason for shooting two cops(would like to know)but no matter what, this is one guy with no formal military training or combat experience.

                  • Understood. Any advice for two (one proficient with a firearm) in an apartment? At this point, all I got is stock up, lock down and no quarter accepted or offered. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

              • Bottom line: You could not have invented a worse cast of characters to be in charge during such a crisis. We are screwed.

                • (Forced into FEMA Camp/Holding Facility + Economic Threats + Ebola) = Hell on earth. Did I mention Barry and his “Open Borders Policy”. Yeah, no coincidence my friends. Is the CDC and USG going to restrict travel, develop restrictions to travel to Africa????????

                  • Unfortunate, sorry reply a few posts down, hate when for whatever reason there is no reply box as blanked out.Beyond having/knowing how to defend ones self would if you can teach the other, even if just dry fire basics in apt.,plenty on that, out in the woods/range time far superior. How are you for long term food, plenty of ideas in just this article in responses on that. Some basic med supplies, even just the basics help.I would say along with food that doesn’t need cooking,WATER,very important, you are in apt. so save old milk jugs filled ect.,get a bathtub bladder, holds about 100 gallons and use and fill at first sign of panic, even with a outage town pressure will pump for a bit, basic radio with a crank so you can get some news, may be lies keep in mind!Learn your neighborhood well, travel at day and at night, know ways out if you just have to leave, especially on foot as roads may be clogged/barricaded,even a few basic day backpacks?Look on sites like CL in free section for things like packs/camping gear ect.,do see it for free at times,a few flashlights including hand crank ones, this covers some basics.I would also consider what you own and alternative uses for said items in a challenging time, good luck!

              • @Unreconstructed LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

            • Obama is much more damaging to America than Ebola ever will be.

              • Patient Zero came from Liberia.

Didn’t you just know that nothing ever good comes from a damn Lib?

                • Alex Jones is reporting that in LA, you can have your security cameras at home ‘monitored’ by a former NOLA cop’s company. Of course, HE controls who, when, and what can be viewed. Any bets on the existense of a clause in the legalize negating that pesky warrant requirement? Wonder how many sheep are paying the $10/mo fee to be put under close surveillence? Of course there’s a discount if you have teenage daughters.

                  • Nice jab! It must be rewarding to generate revenue from the people you are violating. A beautiful wife or daughter just makes them look harder and more often. All in an effort to maintain and secure your freedom and safety.

                  • Before I woke up, I used to live in a place that I would be willing to have them watch the camera on the back ally.

            • This is WHY The EBOLA DISTRACTION IS STEALING THE HEADINES: GENOCIDE BY US BOMBS IN SYRIA.

White House exempts Syria airstrikes from tight standards on civilian deaths
Amid reports of women and children killed in U.S. air offensive, official says the ‘near certainty’ policy doesn’t apply.

The White House has acknowledged for the first time that strict standards President Obama imposed last year to prevent civilian deaths from U.S. drone strikes will not apply to U.S. military operations in Syria and Iraq.
A White House statement to Yahoo News confirming the looser policy came in response to questions about reports that as many as a dozen civilians, including women and young children, were killed when a Tomahawk missile struck the village of Kafr Daryan in Syria’s Idlib province on the morning of Sept. 23.

              • Really? Soo (and I’m a Republican) according to you, that’s the real intent of OBamacare all along?
Or that’s what it will become? Explain how you came to this conclusion?

          • JJ Watt is patient zero!

            • Have you ever seen QB’s running for their lives when JJ Watt is chasing them? They act like he’s patient zero!

              • Von Miller and Chris Matthews put the fear of Ebola in QB’s faster than JJ Watt.

                • that trio there has put almost as many men on their backs as my ex-wife!

              • Won’t matter, Romo will just hand off and Watt will be left in the dust.

          • I’ll miss y’all when they shut down the Internet.

            • Yep, I plan to scroll through the articles while I still can and get all the notes and tips that I missed . Should keep me out of trouble for a while! 🙂

          • This is a complete crock-of-sh*t. Martial law and enforced restrictions on travel is the ultimate goal. As of NOW, the USA is not the “ghettos of West Africa”.

When the miracle “vaccine” emerges…be sure and be first in line to receive it. Me, I don’t think so. I will watch YOU VACCINE RECIPIENTS for about a month first.

Fortunately, I know very well how to create supposed antibody positive scans and forge VACCINATED PAPERS. (Heavy Biology background) Remember, it is less what you know, than WHO you know.

And some here still believe gold/silver will have no legitimate utility. Think outside the “sheeple box”.

        • Hmmm, I had all that stuff 18 years ago. All I need is to up my booze stash, sit on the deck and listen to it all unfold on the shortwave and git drunk 😛

          • You need to watch The Walking Dead marathon also.

            • Good idea.

          • You’re a Genius!

          • im coming to your house Genius!

          • Capitol idea…..you deserve 1000 thumbs up for that.

        • The target isn’t Houston.

The target has always been Texas and the southern states who love God, Guns and Liberty.

          ………all by design.

          • That would be hilarious, if that was really the design.

            • FreeSlave, it would make perfect sense, tactically, to take out large populations of people who DON’T AGREE WITH THEIR AGENDA, first. The sites that are the most trouble. That’s why the military often hits munitions depots and weapons manufacturing sites, utilities and such first, in almost any war.

If it is true, then all the globalists are doing, is taking down the largest patches of resistance to their agenda…first.

KILL ALL THE WOLVES, AND THE SHEEP ARE ALL YOURS.

If we can believe TPTB have been planning this for a century or more, why would it be so hard to believe they’ve planned for details like this too?

              • very close…….KILL ALL THE SHEEP DOGS, AND THE SHEEP ARE YOURS……WE are the sheep dogs. WE are the ONLY ones who see the wolves hiding and waiting. WE are the only ones between the sheep and the wolves. And have you ever noticed how the wolves ALWAYS out number the sheep dogs and how few sheep dogs it takes to keep the wolves away from the sheep? Wolves are cowards. They prey on the weak. The time to prepare is NOW. The wolves are at the doorstep. Get ready…..or get dead.

                • Perfect…thanks.

          • I find it interesting when this is coming about. Now this does not mean that I don’t think it could all be a coincidence, but hear out my crazy conspiracy theory. What time of year is it about to be? Why, the holiday season! All of the holidays that people usually get together and go out shopping for and travel for are right around the corner. Halloween is at the end of this month, followed by Thanksgiving and then Christmas (or Hanukkah or Ramadan or even Kwanza) and then New Years. What better time of year to spread the joy of ebola then now? Alternately, if people all stay home then retail sales collapse and we will see a new economic collapse due to a lack of Christmas shopping. So, it’s a real win-win for TPTB.

          • And all Rick Perry can do is talk about what happened in Oklahoma…has no regard for his own and what is a more serious issue.

          Question:

Will we see Martial Law before the election?

          • Mid term or 2016

          • I am more concerned with Mochel to lift her skirt up and the nation to see the truth. That may cause Martial Law by itself. Myself will scape to a foreign land to leave the nightmare behind.

            • Anon..unfortunately there will be no land on the face of the earth that anyone could escape to. The thing about truth is..its too painful. These cowards who stole this election don’t like the exposure..and speaking about exposure..neither does Mooch.

                • A hard core Russian general decided to hold an inspection with his elite troops. These soldiers were used to being subjected to rigorous PT and grueling training exercises. In the snowy wastes of Siberia.
The general decided to make things really interesting by ordering his men to remove their uniforms and stand in the snow naked while he conducts the inspection.
As the general walks through the ranks, he sees a huge pecker protruding through one row of men and strides toward the offending appendage, drawing his saber at the same time. The general decides that this is the time to find out how tough his men really are and chops off a section of the penis. The general looks at the soldier, does not see a reaction on the man’s face, and begins to question him as the end of the penis is flopping in the snow, blood gushing everywhere.
The general asks, “Didn’t that hurt”?
                  The soldier replies, “No sir”.
The general persists, “That didn’t bother you a bit”?
Soldier: “No sir, not at all…”
The general is amazed, but tells the soldier “you are a fine soldier, with your stamina and tolerance for pain”.
The soldier replies, “Sir, the schlong you just chopped off. It belonged to the man behind me”.

Your post makes me want to fly to Africa and stay there. Maybe I should just go up on the roof and dive head first.

I would rather do either of those than see up that skirt. What a disgusting depressing thought.

Worst thought I have ever had when reading this blog.

Anon thank you so much. Don’t know if I will ever recover. PTSD from mochel up skirt view. Yuck

          • Mid term NO. General YES. Good luck and keep preping

          • I don’t think so just yet. However, it is a possibility that it will happen by spring. The reason being that it takes time for Ebola to get out of control. One month just isn’t enough time to go from a single patient zero to a mass epidemic. Plus, you have a matrix of several possible scenarios and only one or two of the least probable end with martial law in one month-at least as far as Ebola is concerned.

This is not to say that I am not deeply concerned about the possibilities that are on the table so far as Ebola is concerned. It could get very ugly very quickly. However, I tend to think it will be some sort of middle ground. Some people will be forcibly isolated, but this will be limited to a few hundred and the disease will be allowed to burn itself out within those few hundred. I could go out on a wild conspiratorial limb here, but I choose not to. (For my conspiracy theory, read my other posts in this article.)

        • This guy got back to the US on Sept 19th and started to get sick 4 days later (Sept 23rd). He went to hospital for treatment but was sent home and not admitted until Sept 28th.

Given you are not supposed to be contagious until you start showing symptoms, at best this guy was able to infect others for 5 days.

Food for thought – how many people do you have direct contact with in 5 days? How many hands do you shake, kids/grandkids do you hug/kiss, make love to your wife, doorknobs/railings/switches do you touch?

          Frightening isn’t it?

          Aussie

          • Thanks for providing that data. This is truly a frightening thing to think about. I wonder what this guy did for a living? Hopefully he wasn’t in hospitality or a cab driver. Sadly, with him having 5 days of being contagious and mixing with the population I think this is far from the end of Ebola in the US. Within a month I expect to see around a hundred infections and it will only get worse from there. I just pray that I am being too pessimistic. This is one of those times when I really don’t want to be right!

            • All the people in the airport, planes, everyone THEY went home to…this could be bad. No travel restrictions. Easy to believe that it was allowed to happen.

            • They are not saying anything regarding particulars or details regarding this patient….citing “patient confidentiality, blah, blah, blah.

It would seem to me, that if they don’t release his name, then it doesn’t matter what details they release. In a situation like this, I would think that it would be in the public’s interest to know just how many people this guy could have come in contact with.

Actually…in the case of a public health crisis, they should throw the confidentiality protocols out the window. What if this guy had contact with someone that he doesn’t recall…but THEY may recall being in contact with HIM if his name is given to the public.

The CDC claims that they know all the people with which he had contact. Unless he stayed in one location and can account for EVERY SINGLE PERSON he was in the same room with…then I say they are lying.

Frankly….it would not surprise me in the least if the CDC was telling a whole pile of lies just so they won’t panic the public….or even worse…TPTB WANT more people infected, and if the CDC told the truth, then people would start taking immediate precautions.

              • Well, it may be a good thing that this person’s details are not released. You may wonder why I say that. In a case like this, the CDC needs the element of surprise. If they release the particulars of the patient, then some people may go into hiding instead of being seen and isolated by the medical authorities. This could actually spread it further and faster than if the public didn’t know.

Are they trying to quell a possible panic? Of course they are. Still, while there is no panic, this is a good time to buy more essentials like N100 or even N95 masks, plastic sheeting, duct tape, garbage bags, Tyvek suits, gloves, etc. If this goes further (and I think it will) then there will be no supply of these items available. So, don’t panic yet, but prepare as best you can for what very well may be a nasty pandemic. Also, if you live around the Dallas area and work in the service industry, this may be a good time to take a vacation or leave the industry all together. It’s better to be unemployed than infected with Ebola. ( I work in food service and deal with the public every day. You can bet I am paying very close attention to this and will leave my job as soon as it comes close.)

              • I never thought the hippa laws were for the patients benefit, its always been about hiding the truth.

              • Remember, up until yesterday, there was almost no chance of Ebola reaching USA. I have great confinence in the CDC. They won’t even tell what flight he was on. What about the ER staff on duty when he first went to the hospital (it might not have even been the SAME hospital)? Move on, nothing to see here! Just bring out your dead!!!

                • he contracted ebola on the AIRPLANE. there’s a story out there that there’s a fifty percent chance symptoms show up within 5 days…..why the HELL would ANYONE get on an airplane anymore?….short the airlines right here, right now! i would rather let pelosi sit on my face and take a rosebush to my ass than get on an airplane.

                  • Here in the DFW area, we are being saturated with media info right now regarding this. Of course…..almost none of the information is really very useful BECAUSE THE DAMN CDC AND GOVERNMENT WON’T RELEASE USEFUL INFORMATION. They’re just running a dog and pony show.

CDC says….”Stay calm and wash your hands”.

                    Really? Are you f’ing serious?

This reminds me so much of the “duck and cover” drills we went through in the early 60’s during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Any of you remember that? They’d have us crawl under our desks, put our heads between our knees (a real struggle for the fat kids) and then cover our heads with our hands and arms. This was supposed to protect us if we got nuked by the Russians. What a laugh. Best you could do in that position was kiss your ass goodbye.

Just saw a new Drudge headline….”Second Possible Ebola Case In Dallas”.

CDC is telling us how they have a handle on this. Right.

I guess they think we are all mushrooms, because they are just keeping us in the dark and piling on the excrement.

                  • By the way…..

Dallas County is run by the biggest bunch of incompetents you’ll ever come across.

One of the county commissioners is the guy who wanted to bring 2000 illegal immigrant “children” to Dallas back in June/July.

No reason to think the health department is run any better.

And from all appearances, the first trip to the hospital that the infected guy made……they gave him antibiotics and sent him home. Evidently, the thought was that some black dude with an African accent shouldn’t be questioned as to where he had been for the last month or so. And his symptoms were nothing “out of the ordinary”.

Right…..you’ve got a black guy with an African accent sitting in front of you with a fever, sore throat and body aches and the thought never occurs to you to ask where he’s been.

I don’t know….but I’m thinking some medical staff should be possibly working at McDonald’s instead of dealing with the public health……just sayin’.

              • We do know they lie.

It is more probable that they/TPTB/CDC have watched too many “zombie”, movies and tv programs.

They are scared that the ZOMBIE HUNTERS, will come out of the woodwork and try to kill anyone ever coming into contact with this person. As if he were infected with the mutated rabies/ebola virus, and anyone that touched him will be soon running around with foaming mouths and snarling at people.
That was meant as a joke , btw; however, it is not so far feteched. A professor at the University of Maryland has slightly exposed a possible mutated virus of the rabies virus that may have been already invented by TPTB.

Apparently, the Pentagon has a “Preparedness Plan” in place or in the works, just for this particular type infection.

Since rabies has no known cure after the incubation period; in effect, anyone with the disease is considered……the walking dead. Seven to fourteen days after showing the signs of the disease and it’s “pushing up daisies”.

With an all out spread of such a disease and it then becomes a “pushing up daisies-chain”, from hell.

What a mucked up fess, if this comes to fruition.
                Fema coffin, anyone?

              • There are a lot of Liberians that the O-Hole amnestied in the Dallas area.

            • Winston,
Or a fast food worker , if this starts in an Urban area ( similar to 3rd world conditions) we could have a lot of problems in a short period of time . The disease is the trigger the response is the problem. Human factors have to be considered I believe if addition cases prop up in DIVERSE LOCATIONS its game over .

It’s a highly unstable virus and can ONLY BE TRANSMITTED THROUGH BODILY FLUIDS.
But why don’t you try it out?

      2. Obola’s here!!

        • NBC told me last month I couldn’t catch it so I’m not worried at all.

          • Sorry Southron, but the entire country got infected by Obola in late 2008. So far, no political cure has proven effective.

            • So what you’re saying, FreeSlave, is that my new obamacare doesn’t handle the one disease I need it to.

              Ironic, ain’t it?

              • What? You are traveling a “hot zone” in West Africa? God you people are dumb

          • Yeah, CDC director said it’s not in the cards for America.

            Move along people… move along.

            • This shit is being done on purpose. Bird Flu was given more attention than this. TPTB are purposely spreading this disease and then lying about it.

              • Eboli is a distraction to avoid the Bombing raids in Syria and Iraq killing innocent people where the kill ratio is 1 dead terrorist for 50 killed. Welcome to US Militart Genocide Program.

                • They’ve got to keep anti-war protesters out of the streets too. Think about it — They’ll try to convince people that it is deadly to be in big crowds…like protests. Not all sheep are completely stupid and they scare quite easily.

Then the MSM can claim that nobody is opposed to the war. The absence of protesters in the streets will seem to confirm the appearance. They could finally win the propaganda war.

                • WWT….I always enjoy to see your truthful comments. ZOG is implementing their final stages. People need to wake up and send the Ruthchilds of the world along with their monsters in the so called Islamic world to the trash hold of the earth but making sure they don’t pollute the mother earth since their corpses are also infectious.

                • As far as I’m concerned there are no innocent people over there. Bomb away! At least they’re finally doing something about those animals.

                  • Frostbyte…I hope you are relating to the ISIS killers and not normal Syrians. So if my assumption is correct then yes let’s bomb our own hired killers. If your comment relates to the normal Syrians including women and children then you need to do some soul searching.

                  • Yes I was referring to the ISIS radicals. Not the peaceful Syrians that are involved in this without any control of the situation.

            • Mac: “Yeah, CDC director said it’s not in the cards for America.

              Move along people… move along.”

Obama Sir! The people are not moving along. Uncooperative to the max.

As expected. (Sigh) Let’s move to phase 2. Institute Martial Law immediately. And confiscate all registered firearms. You know the drill. DHS knows the drill. Move!

            • It is all about vaccine

              • Obola… Martial Law … Gun Confiscation … Vaccine… Mark of the Beast

Along with condescending comment: “Nothing to see here. Move along people.”

              • There is no Ebola vaccine.

                • If a vaccine was suddenly available, would you take it?

                • Must have something where it works or not .I read the other day where they will be sending 10,000 doeses last of December 2014.This goes to Africa.Wished I had retained the link

                  • I recall it being far less than 10,000 doses, it’s made from a single-source plant here in the states, and is totally experimental right now. No trials if it works or not, and if used in Africa, no control group to know if the vaccine worked or the victims just survived anyway.

Right now, the only treatment is isolation and building up of immune systems to allow the body to live or die.

            • That’s right Mac, just like after 911, go shopping and all will be well. Shop till you drop Ebola be damned.

By-the-way the kids infected with the Obama Flu are now becoming paralyzed. That’s all folks.

          • All this official CDC propaganda that Ebola is not airborne, and is not easily contracted, is a moot point now.

This matter is no longer theory and conjecture, it is reality. I hate to be an impolite jerk, but no more hand shaking for me from now on!

            • I enjoy being an impolite jerk!

        • I’ll take two with a side of tater logs and hot spicy cheese.

      3. And so it begins…

        • This fall should be exciting, S.G.

          • I hope the cold weather helps hold down the virus.

        • A word to the wise masks MAY NOT BE EFFECTIVE , There is a lot not known about this virus, it’s small , possibly smaller than the NBC filters available to the military , we do not know if it’s airborne , but tests conducted on the Ebola reston strain and in Canada does suggest otherwise, also hand sanitizer has NO EFFECT , ONLY BLEACH SOLUTION AND UV LIGHT .

          Your best course of action:
          to avoid crowds
Avoid people who are Exhibiting symptoms of illness keep at least 6 feet away in open air .
Wash your hands and do not touch your face or eyes after being out in public.
This is not the same as a influenza pandemic there are a lot of unknowns .
Apparently this guy was on a plane and was walking around for a week before exhibiting symptoms. Stay off public transit if a pandemic is declared. At this time it is not planned , but could change PAY ATTENTION .

DO NOT PANIC USE YOUR HEAD , FEAR IS YOU WORST ENEMY .
Keep alert for additional cases in the next week , 3 weeks incubation (21 days) remember this guy was infected in the begining of September . If additional cases pop up in the wild by individuals that have not been to Africa , gear up and finish your preps as Daisy has outlined in the article. .

Time is not on our side.
Be safe , quietly take precautions ,
This is not a drill, we had an emergency DHS pandemic briefing this afternoon , I am providing some of the information presented to us from the CDC. This could become serious in short order.

          • Night Breaker,

If doctors wearing full head-to-toe biological protection still managed to contract the virus, a single surgical mask alone won’t stop Ebola. What is needed is an aggressive multi-layer protective plan along with a complete lifestyle change to prevent the virus from taking hold. Personally I think people who refuse to wash their hands after using the bathroom are far more dangerous than the virus itself.

            • Night, thanks for the Jeep update, glad to hear he is still rocking with us!

            • I think the best we can do, is to use whatever isolation/preventative measures we have, and avoid risky behaviors.

I’ve had the worst luck getting people from the Church to understand how risky it is, for their missionaries to go out in town and indiscriminately shake every hand they can get a hold of, then come back to the church and shake all of ours.

Personally, I am offended by their lackadaisical treatment of infectious disease protocols. That’s why I haven’t been to church since this ebola scare began. There are just too many weak links there.

            • There’s a reason why researchers working with this virus do so in bio-hazard level 4 facilities (the highest level).

Gowns and masks are a joke. You need a hazmat suit that is totally impervious to any liquids and is pressurized to keep contagions out.

            • They also have affirmative action workers making their food.

          • After 9-11, Bush Gov’t said the air was safe and all these work crew went in to clean up. On his desk was a report from US Geological Society, saying the air was worse than drain cleaner– full of asbestos, mercury, all sorts of toxic stuff…

LESSON: don’t believe anything the Govt says; they are not trustworthy.

The People in Charge told people to go back upstairs, everything was under control…some went back and had to jump to their deaths… THE GOV’T LIES!!

Out West, this guy worked in Vermiculite mine and was told by officials it was so safe you could play in it. He and others began dieing shortly thereafter. (Vermicule is worse than asbestos). LESSON: don’t believe your boss or anyone “IN CHARGE”.

If Gov’t says, “don’t worry”… WORRY, be very worried!

          • “DO NOT PANIC USE YOUR HEAD , FEAR IS YOU WORST ENEMY .”

Just so. Most of those – here – have been anticipating what ‘might’ happen’ since we all first became aware of the outbreak as it progressed; there is nothing NEW here…YET. If any persons are hereafter diagnosed with EVD who have not lately travelled abroad then the ‘cat is out of the bag’…it goes without saying.

IN THE MEANWHILE….one small addition to Daisy’s prudent suggestions above; I would strongly recommmend going to your local doctor and getting a prescription for ‘PhisoHex’ (the GALLON size!)….and yes, you WILL need a prescription to get it. ‘Hexachloridine’ is one of a very few chemicals that is simply wholly inimical to virtually every known virus. However, it DOES have carcinogenic properties though, so you PROBABLY want to avoid using it – long-term – unless the need to do so is PLAIN and APPARENT.

By now it is becoming clear that the academic community has BADLY misjudged the fundamental capacity of this pathogen to transmit itself and as well, that – now – we have no CLEAR idea of just what it’s ACTUAL transmission vectors actually consist of, therefor, “Prudence IS warranted.”, to say the least. The ‘outlier’ here (as a possibility) is that just enough of this would manifest in progressive fashion as to begin impairing the JIT logistic systems that underlie ALL of modern civilization…if THAT happens then ‘all bets are OFF Folks’…instantly.

Lastly, we must begin to consider that some madman MIGHT elect to take this occurance as being a propituous time to stage a ‘release’ of something else. Were that so, the inital response of a system micro-focused on EVD would likely miss the inital occurance of that and thus allow for a far broader dissemination until it was recognized.

There is MUCH to be watched during the next few weeks, it should go without saying that for something as horrible as this is all precautions are warranted, as well that any remaining preparation that you have as yet ‘left undone’ likely would be prudent to do…NOW.

An excellent article Miss Luther…My Thanks.

Footnote: you may want to – carefully – consider that the CDC is now indicatiing that EVD may become endemic in West Africa in the future. As a thought exercise here WHAT would likely happen if the entire sytem broke down in a real SHTF scenario and all of the lovely little ‘nasty’s’ which inhabit the world – at large – were scattered through the bio-spere….HOW many YEARS would it be until people could walk freely without fear through any area so affected? The statistical models I have seen for those type of scenario’s are “grim” to say the least. Just a thought…

            • @Mr Rogers, thanx for the additional info…will check with my doc to see if I can get the prescription you recommend…take care, CC

            • Phisohex sounds great for sanitizing surfaces, but I think I’m going to stick with rotating combination of betadine, isopropyl alcohol and a strong pool shock solution.

I’m already going into surgery to have some cancer removed, I’m not pressing my luck with carcinogens, any more than I have to.

              • @ sixpack,

Ummm, i woldn’t use it for surfaces; it’s a TAD too expensive for that…I picked a gallon jug up – oh say – 4 month ago and it cost me $178 for that. Specifically I was refering to it as being used for the SELF…when and AS applicable.

Also don’t forget that simple Borax (as well, Boric Acid) has significant ability to ‘cut’ protein strands and that THAT may be used quite easily (and safely) in tandem with Chlorox bleach (not the Boric acid though) in aqueous solution for sterilizing any surface. Remember that the Chlorox WILL evaporate in very short order, but the remnant Borax will remain until – and ONLY until – something washes it off. As for the Betadine I’m not so sure…most of what is sold commonly is a fairly weak solution of povidone Iodine (Iodine is related to Chlorine, yes) but the issue is IF it is STRONG enough as it is compounded commercially. Almsot ANY hypo-chlorite based bleach is fully capable of acting to disrupt the gentic sequencing of a virus on contact, thereby destroying it’s abilty to be dangerous.

In truth, the occaisional exposure to the active ingredient in “PhisoHex’ is not apt to produce carginogenic results unless used daily and repeatedly likely for years. Lastly here, the alcohol will do NOTHING to retard the virulence of most viruses…so be careful there.

I hope that some of this might help someone here…

                • I had forgotten about the borax.

Note to self: need more borax.

              • Use the Phisohex. The studies showed it would take someone literally drinking the stuff for years to get cancer. Of course the panic weenies made a big issue of it. Hospital wards used to be misted with it and there were no staph infections as a result. Take your pick, a good chance of getting a flesh eating bacteria or a very tiny chance of getting cancer. More scare mongering that had bad results.

            • Oopss…fingers getting ahead of BRAIN syndrome,

              NOT “Hexachloridine”….instead “ChlorHexidrine”

Too much antihistamine today I guess….

            • Mr . Rogers ,
Those statistical models are they the ones developed by USAMRIID for CBRN contamination zones?
Your comment is right on target I have nothing to add , later today at work we have an additional base operations contegency planning meeting.
I have a general fear the Human Factor may well be worse then the virus
Panic can bring out a whole slew of difficulties especially that pointed out in your comments to the just in time delivery system , that is the stuff nightmars are made of and could cause more causilities than the virus itself.
I will start to worry when they start to issue MOPP 4 gear and Decontamination kits.
Paying attention is the best thing now and maintaining OPSEC for your plans

              Semper Fi 8541

              • @ Night Breaker,

Yes, the same models you mention. The ‘Human Factor’, that is – frankly – what worries me the most.

Any rational thinking person facred with a potential existential threat to themselve would naturally act to PREVENT any occuance of potential contamination of themselves…via ANY avenue…such goes without saying. It is the effects that attend that ‘rational behaviour’ whose ramifications are simply – IMHO – not being considered broadly.

Whether EVD – here – becomes even proximately epidemic or no, the consequences of a disruption to the ‘system’ if even a samll portion of the working populace ‘disengage’ from work-related funtions would LIKELY have inordinately potent effects on the proper fucntioning of ‘what we see’ around us in daily life. I can’t remember WHO or WHAT originally posted what I here mention (CRS syndrome here!) but there was a guy a while back who did an extraordinary analysis of what would happen if the the JIT/Financial linkage became perturbed…even slightly; the results he inferred were simply ‘Terrible’ and having read that piece myself I could NOT find flaw of any sort therein. As I recall, he concluded that extraordinary damage would occur within any modern system such as our’s today, in only a ten-day period were that linkage interupted.

…And THAT is what is to be feared, as there is now little or nothing within the Western World that does NOT depend on JIT input (often critically) to function… almost daily in many cases.

“Standing by, planning and preparing furiously…”

You and me BOTH Friend…like it’s my new religion.

          • QuakeKare Deluxe Pandemic Flu Kit is Currently unavailable on Amazon (As given in article link above).

They “don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock”

          • Thanks NB
            This is not good

            • but it IS good, in that many people are PREPARING for something! They’re GEARING UP. For every person that takes precautions, they may save DOZENS OF OTHERS….maybe even me or someone I know.

The rest of us preppers have had time already to get something in place. If we have waited until the last minute to get some gear together, that is on US.

              WE KNOW BETTER.

          • I can not afford to get all the gear that is suggested for the amount of people that will be around me. Just can’t happen in a short period of time. Water, soap, hygiene, isolation, build up the immune system. Thats about all folks!
Best of all, to all of us…And may luck be always on your side.
And I have not watched those movies but it seems like a good wish!

          • 15 feet-a droplet coughed or sneezed can travel 15 feet.

          • If hand santizer doesnt kill Ebola. Then what is washing your hands going to do to keep you safe. Not trying to be a wise ass just pointing out that it doesn’t make any sense.

            • Hand washing with soap helps release bacteria and viral stuff attached to your hands/skin….and sends them down the drain…

      4. HIV/AIDS wasn’t good enough for population control. Ebola will be. Be ready.

        • Don’t worry about it. We’ll fix it so it never happens again. ” No matter many people (of you) die off”, and we’ll spend money by the boat loads. A Democratic Orgasm.

        • HIV/AIDS was for fag control. Unfortunately it was not effective enough.

          • Cickle Cellanemia was invented by the CIA to kill off blacks, but that didn’t work so the CIA invented Crack Cocaine, but that didn’t work either so they invented Meth. They also found guns are more effective where 3 out of 4 blacks prefer to shoot fellow blacks.

            • Here’s a couple of links about the origins of meth:

            • They found out that SickleCell Anemia was caused by the glue on the back of the food stamps. Notice how when they went to EBT Cards nobody get Sickle Cell anymore. Trekker Out.

      5. Well well well..

If it’s not economic collapse,Martial Law,EMP’S, nuclear war, the DHS,FEMA camps, terrorists, or Russians and Chicoms standing ready to invade us..now it’s the BIG E..

        Never mind it all..

We’ve got our preps in order..

It’s now time to nurture the fall crops and prepare for the winter..

Personally I don’t give a rats ass about some bureaucratic agency like the CDC sending another fear mongering warning that all hell is to come loose at some point..

It appears many of you have bought into the entire conspiracy and propaganda from the feds you all so despise and buy into another big brother fear campaign ad nauseum..

be it terrorist aka IS thousands of miles away while our borders are wide open..

or this big Ebola virus ready to wipe us all out..

Sooner or later we will all meet our Maker by one form or another..

        Good God..

        Enjoy the day

Hug your wife, husband, kids ,grandkids, or best friends and live your damned lives like no tomorrow..

And yes still prepare as well..

If it all goes to hell..

See you on the other side..

        Again..

        Just..

        Enjoy the day..

        possee

        • Where do you get that the CDC is fear mongering? If anything, they are playing down the possibility that there’s anything to be concerned about.

          • Get back to me in a few weeks and surely nothing will come of all of this..

            possee

          • They are mongering fear for those of us who know they are liars working for the enemy. If they say it is nothing, we know it is more and some will become afraid, even surrender in hopes of being protected.

I have nothing to fear because I control the means of production for colloidal silver, Gods medicine.

For those who have been putting it off, there is still time to get what you need for just a few FRNs.

Look at it like this. If colloidal silver was ineffective the CDC would be telling you to take it. Instead, I am telling you because I know it is effective and I am on your side.

No, I do not sell silver. My profits will be in the form of fellow freedom lovers to participate in the destruction of the money changers.

            • …and remember that a collodial silver generator only takes about $10 of stuff to build it. Come to think of it, i have spent way more on distilled water by ten times or more than i did on the generator and silver electrodes.

It will produce hundreds of gallons of the stuff before you need new electrodes.

      6. Questions:

Did Patient Zero really fly into Dallas/Ft Worth International?

At what point is anyone here thinking “self imposed lock down”? when it hits your state or your county? That is, if the PTB don’t impose lockdown if this thing gets out of hand.

        • The route he took is not clear and no one is saying anything from CDC/hospital because of medical privacy laws.

This person could have come into contact with hundreds of people while he was symptomatic – and if that’s the case then we can expect more infections. Let’s hope they caught it early, but there are still hundreds more infected in Africa (and who knows where else).

          • Mac,

I just found an article that says patient zero became symptomatic several days after flying into Dallas/Ft Worth. He/she was admitted to hospital on Sunday (so he/she flew in when? Thursday…Friday?)

If you or anyone here find out what day he/she flew into Dallas/Ft Worth, I would be incredibly grateful if you post that info. Not for me but for a dear friend who was recently right there. She is not worried for herself but for others around her at work, kids, etc.

Chances would be astronomically high that she contracted E but I can see now how little details like this could make folks go apesh!t with ‘concern’.

            • Heard on fox news he showed symptoms on the 24th and 4 days later 28th was admitted.

            • WRM … person flew in to DFW on 20-SEP. Became symptomatic on 24-SEP. Sought treatment at a clinic in Plano, not the hospital where currently isolated, on 26-27-SEP, was released back into the public. Admitted to hospital/isolation 29-SEP.

This timeline came from an article I read elsewhere today, can’t remember where.

              • I would guess that there may be a couple of more cases especially if he has close friends with the usual intimate greetings we all use.

            • I watched CDC news conference. They said he arrived DFW on the 20th. Symptoms started on the 24th. He sought medical help on the 26th (they never said where) but was sent home. On the 29th, he was bad enough that he went to ER, where he came into contact with several health workers. CDC was very tight lipped with info. Wouldn’t say what airline or what route he took. They did say he was NOT a US citizen. This will be funny when we find out that this guy is an ISIS suicide virus bomb. Top off your preps. Be ready to self quarantine. Good luck to all.

              • I wonder how many others were traveling with or on the same or similar rout as this person.
Sheesh! That could be hundreds of people in contact

          • Respectfully, Mac, do you mean while he was “symptomatic” (showing symptoms) or “asymptomatic” (not yet showing symptoms?

            • Reports are symptomatic for 4 days walking the public before quarantine.

            • Mayo Clinic released guidelines today saying Ebola is more highly contagious once the patient is symptomatic. Which I read to mean, they know a person IS contagious before they show symptoms, just not AS contagious. Oops. Don’t think anybody was supposed to let that cat out of the bag.

        • Wind River Mom,

Obama allowed the airlines to place profits ahead of common sense and public health safety by allowing them to fly full international schedules to the worst “Hot Zone” countries in Africa.

To say Obama invited this crisis would not be a stretch of the imagination IMHO. A biological/health crisis is an excellent distractor from his falling political ratings. Not to mention, who knows what the politicians will be working on behind the scenes while Americans are pre-occupied with Ebola.

          • Yeah, they obviously DON’T CARE if Ebola comes here– no precautions whatsoever.

            • Yes they do care. They WANTED it here and did everything possible to bring it. Remember the doctors they brought in and don’t forget the boarders are still wide open. Hang on tight cause hell is coming to America.

            • I think the theft beaurocracy means no real action can be done. the $1M per bed is clearly a thefy scheme. So, rather than meeting its goal probably most if not all government action is derailed by theft. At this point, Legislative and Judicial are ineffective. The Executive is so rotten that all actions result in theft first with at most a token result towards the goal. How many government employees do you know who have accomplished 100th of what you accomplished in the past year? If I were paid like the government employees, I’d make $100M per year all by myself!!! So, 1/1000th of the money the government spends is used properly. So, its maybe not that they don’t have guiding directives; but that almost every person along the way is part of the scheme and not actually working but simply sucking away the money. By the time the $1000 bed is installed, $1M has been spent! That’s why they can’t stop Ebola. Corruption=willful incompetence.

          • What happened to the planes that went missing in Libya? I haven’t heard anything about them lately.

      7. Nothing to see or worry about here! This is just fear mongering!

(i type this as i do inventory and check my suits, masks and food preps to see if there are any holes to fill in before people go nuts)

      8. The WORST part about all of this…they LET THIS HAPPEN!

-Didn’t shut off air travel from infected countries to the U.S.

-Didn’t push for more aggressive quarantine

-Purposely deployed U.S. Military (ill qualified)to infected areas…and made them carriers

There are no ‘accidents’. Only plans with evil intentions from the start.

        • No, they didn’t “Let it happen”. They MADE it happen. Can you say “Bioweapon”?

          • But! The TSA is keeping us safe from terrorists blowing us up!

            • The TSA is keeping us safe as long as the terrorists are up our butts, in our shampoo, colostomy bag or catheter bag.

        • News on Fox said he came from Liberia, really seems those that could do something still don’t care to,seems purposeful to me if what we so far know stays the same.

          • British Airways stopped all flights in and out of infected countries until the end of the year. We won’t do that because it might hurt airline profits (jobs numbers are important pre-election), and now we have Patient Zero. Maybe that was the plan. I wonder if we will still have elections in November?

            • The real reason is that not serving Africa would be racist. Our racist president would be all over them as would the media. This PC nonsense will kill us.

              • 2 drunks sitting next to each other in a seedy tavern.
1st drunk looks up, sniffs the air, makes a face, and turns to the 2nd drunk next to him.
“Hey, asshole. Did you shit your pants or what?”
2nd drunk says “Yeah, as a matter of fact, I did”.
1st drunk asks the 2nd drunk “why don’t you go to the restroom and clean yourself up? You’re really stinking up the place”.
2nd drunk thinks for a moment, then says “I would, but I ain’t finished yet”.

        • Well at least it will never come across our heavily guarded southern border!

      9. Well I’m off to get more water. I wonder how long it would take to burn itself out? I have 6 months worth of food and other supplies.

        • Does anyone know the answer to this? I asked a similar question before about the growth/spread cycle/rate. All I’ve seen online is some elementary R factors – at which even at that they are simply guessing. Are no scientists involved in disease tracking? Or is it the ‘wikipedia’ effect where you get a paragraph summary and no indepth knowledge?
Just guessing based on the flu is it would take 3-6 months. But looking at the growth rate so far: years. We know its incubated for six months now. At some point, does it go critical? Like the flu. Or it a slow, endemic spread over a decade?

      10. All this sicko had to do was go grocery shopping (touching the cart handle), push an elevator button, heck, even touch the door handle entering the hospital, etc…and whoever touched it next is a ticking ebola time-bomb ready to go off soon.

        • AAAAK, Imma build me a sealed greenhouse to live in and sterilize EVERYTHING! Excuse me while I go change muh shorts 🙁

          • Buck up Genuis, just have that deck party and enjoy the day!

            • Thanks WC, Im doing just that. Got me a batch of mead going yum 😛 If ya want to join the party heres an easy recipe for mead…

3 quarts of water to 1 quart of honey together in a clean and sterile pot. (I sterilize my stuff in the oven at 220 degrees for at least 20 minutes).
Melt the honey water mixture stirring occasionally until the water slightly steams or the surface starts moving (do not boil).
Let the mix cool to about 85 degrees and pour into a glass jug or jugs that have been sterilized.
Add yeast (bread yeast is ok) at a ratio of 1 packet to 1 gallon of mix.
Put a balloon over the top of the jug or use an airlock if you have one.
Let the mix ferment untill the balloon goes flat or the airlock stops bubbling (about 2 weeks)
Siphon off the mix (do not siphon the sediment at the bottom) into sterilized glass sealed containers.
Let the containers sit 1 week (you will probably see a little more sediment) then crack the cap and let off excess pressure.
At this point you can drink it or store it for later just make sure you reseal the cap if your saving it.

Probably one of the easiest alc. beverages to make all you need is water, honey, yeast.

              PARTY AT WARCHILDS HOUSE!!! 🙂

              • PS.. The last time I made mead the hydrometer showed 18% alc. after a 3 week cooking. I had some a few weeks ago that I gave a friend about 5 years ago and damn it was good 🙂

                • Oh and 1 more thing, you don’t have to refrigerate it (honey is a natural antibacterial), just keep it in a cool dark place (yer closet).

                • I really want to try some of that! 🙂

                  • Yer welome anytime sixer, Too bad everyone is so spread out. Im sure wede have some good stories and a few laughs. I guess these are the cards were dealt, I personally will call the bluff 🙂

              • I just saved the recipe, sounds great! Thanks!

                • Genius, would love to try the mead but at moment still off the bottle/staying sober,if I wasn’t good chance wouldn’t have to worry about any possible shtf scenarios, would die from the booze! Now,it all falls apart realize being clear headed a very good thing but at that point will also have a few drinks, screw it,end of days and all! That said, raise a toast to all those little bees that help make mead a possibility!

      11. doesn’t his viral load and stage of illness have a lot to do with his level of contagiousness. if that’s a word. im too lazy to look it up. id love to know where this dude had lay overs. i guess we will start to find out in 12 – 21 days.

      12. Isn’t this special? Gov’t won’t tell us squat. Just don’t panic, everything will be alright

        • What I thought was ironic, was citing “privacy issues” as an excuse…we all know we have no “privacy”.

I’ll bet the NSA knows everywhere he went…

      13. I just flew through IAH – really would like to know what airport he went through.

        • No doubt… at the very least they could share his itinerary so that people would know where he was and how long he has been in the States.

But, apparently, the less we know the safer we’ll be.

          • Gee….Don’t worry….the main doctor said Ebola doesn’t spread unless someone is sick…..

WHAT THE F_CK IS THE DEFINITION OF SICK????

Imagine all the flight crew collecting all the soda cans and drink glasses with condensation on the outside.

Boom. I think we should all give Mac the honor of officially stating that….

THE SHIT HAS HIT THE FAN!

            • Actually, it was they are not contagious unless they are showing symptoms such as high fever or flu like symptoms. That being said, what if a person has no symptoms, and is a carrier like Typhoid Mary. That’s when the real disaster starts. The danger with Ebola is its long incubation rate which is 28 days… (Insert bad British zombie movie here). Symptoms should start to manifest themselves between 14-24 days. So with that all being said, watch the movie Outbreak, eat some popcorn, and kiss yo ass goodbye…

              RTP

          • The Obamafurher and his lackies, will NEVER let we, the people, “know”, from where he came, or through which airports he has been in. This is just the “crisis” they needed to deflect the country from the abysmal lack of leadership the Narcisst-in-Chief exhibits. We should be taking bets on WHO/WHAT, the Obamafurher will blame this US arrival of Ebola on.(certainly won’t be his dithering…)

          • All about the unproven vaccine.Think I will have another beer.

            • me, too.

          • Somebody is sitting in the same seat he sat in. Hmmmm!

      14. The individual that has Ebola came in from Liberia….

First question should be- why are people from the infected areas allowed in the country at this time…???

This has the makings of a first rate “false flag” attack designed by Valerie Jarrett…

      15. I said back in July that we would probably see our first case by the end of August, early September. I was off by 19 days, but it did show up. AND this won’t be the only case. There will be more.

4 days…4 days until this person was admitted. Who knows how many people were exposed in those 4 days. I guess we will start to see in about a week to 14 days.

If/when another case shows up in Dallas within the next few weeks (assuming the media is allowed to report on it) many will start to panic and by then it will be too late to get your supplies. Right now the sheeple are convinced that this is an isolated incident and that the almighty government will take care of it.

I have no intention to spread fear, but I believe that we are looking at a huge possibility of this being a pandemic. HOpefully I’m wrong, but if I’m not then I sure wouldn’t want to be unprepared. Because, quite frankly, the best way to defeat this is to isolate and ride it out. Which means you HAVE to have enough supplies to stay put.

        • Kynase – so you have confirmation that patient zero flew into Dallas/Ft worth approximately Wednesday or Thursday? Very important – thanks!

      16. I do not see the issue here. If we can secure 1600 Pen. Ave. I don’t see a concern with a itty bitty virus.juss sayin.

        • 1600 Penn secure, just ask the guy who got in and to the second floor how secure it is.

        • But William,didn’t a guy just,oh,never mind!

          • WC, he had federal ammo and it failed. Damn, too bad better luck next time 🙂

      17. Preparing for a pandemic isn’t much different than preparing for an economic collapse. Except for the medical supplies.

If it breaks out in America you’ll have to think ahead a little bit because the incubation period is anywhere from 2 to 21 days.

Of course, if ebola is spreading rapidly in America we’ll have martial law.

        • Its a lot easier to isolate yourself from an economic collapse than a virus! Just sayin

      18. Marvelous…Just Marvelous.

        Just did a sphincter check.
        Not gonna shit just yet!

If it starts spreading…Gonna buy a God load of cut-away’s!

      19. Dang and I do not have one supply on hand period,I’m new to this prepping. I’m starting next month with stocking up on supplies. I’m already reading on how to safely store water. Lot’s more to look into as well!

        • just go buy: 50# of rice. 20# canned beans, or dry, 2-3 big boxes of assorted dry gravy, A jar of vitamin pills, 1# of salt. 2 Qts of oil (not corn), a large bag of flower, 10# of sugar, some yeast and and as much peanut butter and jelly as you can afford. It won’t be good, but if you have water and power you can make it for at least 2 months. And it won’t cost you more than about $100

          • If you can afford it, add 1 can of meat, Spam, Stew, Corned Beef, Tuna, Salmon, Chicken, something like that, per day. Sixty cans will run about $250.

Powdered milk, about $25. Bulk cereals, $50, whatever you like to eat. Pound of salt, $1. 2 pounds butter, $6. Coffee or tea. Tobacco if you use it. Matches.

Eggs, 3 dozen, $8. When they’re gone, maybe you can get more by then, should last about 2-4 weeks depending on how many you are feeding.

            • I found the 1 yr expired cereal stale (sugary $1 flakes). I guess you have to remove it from the box and put in a gallon ziplock?

              • I would. Press the air out as much as you can, it should keep fresh a bit longer, fresh being a relative term.

You can crisp it up again by putting in the oven on low temp for a few minutes, and using a bit more sugar on it, add some fruit, that kind of thing.

          • P! Thats an excellent “panic” list.

Id add a couple 40# bags of cleaned wheat from your local feed store and make it three months.

            • Don’t talk about the feed store! That’s one of my secret last minute run to places. The dumbo’s at Wal-Mart will be killing each other as I get the last of my stuff.

        • Good luck Joseph. Here’s a site to visit which is often linked here at SHTFplan. http://readynutrition.com/ People who post here at SHTFplan are helpful and can get you started without wasting time or money as you get yourself set up.

        • We have a basement. We have about 1500 gallon water jugs. We bought plywood and cinder blocks. We get 512 gallons per tower. The water is about 48 cents a gallon and lasts indefinitely.

As much as possible, we bought food that we already eat. We bought one pound canned hams from Wal-Mart, canned chicken from Wal-Mart to use in casseroles. As well as a lot of canned beans, rice, canned soup, oatmeal, canned fruit, and canned vegetables.

You need guns and ammo. As well as ways to heat your home and cook your food. Plus something to use as a toilet. We have 5 gallon buckets with snap-on toilet seats, garbage bags to line them, and literally a ton of kitty litter to cover the smell.

          • Add a hand-cranked emergency radio and some alternative light sources, and you could make it through rather well! Some pool shock for sterilization and water purification purposes and you’re set.

          • Is your home fire proof?

        • Guns and lots of Ammo. Hand gun 9mm and a shotgun. 12g. Slugs and 000 Buckshot

        • Joseph.. u can start small and just get a few extra cans of food, a bag of rice, sanitizer, n95 or 100 masks all for under 20.00 then go and get more things the following week, it doesn’t have to be large at first. It slowly grows -:-)

        • I think maybe Joseph was being sarcastic.

        • YOU FIRST…

      22. N95s are rated to filter out only 95% of airborne particulates, N100 or P100 are better because they keep out 99.97% of particles and the P100 is oil resistant. Don’t be cheap if your life could depend on it, and keep it simple. Though the SGE 400/3 (or 400/3 BB for a little more) is a good mask for under $200. I would also stock up on lots of Vitamin C and D, and materials to build an outdoor sealed isolation shelter.

PLOS Currents: Outbreaks did warn of a 20% chance of ebola in the US by September, they were right.

        • In my part of the country n95 is best I can find.Guess something is better than nothing.

          • Home depot has N100 masks for ~$35.00. You’ll also need to buy an eye protection device.

          • Ebay has respirators, suits and n100 mask. Got a case of 10 for 74.94

          • BS on all these masks, STAY HOME! Spend your money on supplies, the first day you think it’s not safe to go outside, without a mask, stay home. You will know in a week after that if it’s real, Hundreds of health care workers that supposedly know more than we do have died from it; including the only virologist in the area. We kill close to 1,000 a week in auto accidents. The number gets even close to that, go home and stay there. I have already picked my panic point, you pick yours

      23. I believe it is airborne but since they wont admit it…they are only contagious when they have symptoms…I read this…
The man left Liberia Sept. 19 and arrived in the USA the next day, but had no symptoms when leaving Africa or arriving here, said Thomas Frieden, CDC director. The patient became sick Sept. 24 and he sought care two days later. He was sent home, but returned to a hospital and was admitted Sept. 28. Frieden did not reveal the man’s nationality, but said he came to the USA to visit relatives.

So obviously he started showing symptoms on the 24th. Went to the emergency room most likely on the 26th…sent home…probably with the “flu” went back to hospital on the 28th was admitted. Ebola confirmed on the 30th….sooooo…how many were exposed on the 26th in the ER room.

        • Diane,

I don’t doubt your information because it sounds more than plausible…

Just want to know the source…please.

          • never mind found it.

        • Yeah airborne..When the person was in a plane

        • Diane–

Begs the question….how effective is the “central air” (air conditioning) among other possible ‘vector-sites’ at said hospital…per filtration???

..just curious, of course…per the “airborne thingy.”

          • Remember the Anthrax mailing at the US Senate building? It got wafted throughout the entire building when they opened the mail in the mailroom.

I think N100 HEPA filters on the AC are not going to be easy to locate.

      24. What harm could there be in joining the mile high club?

“12 ONLY TWELVE YEARS OLD young girl kidnapped by a gang of 3 police officers in a van for rape party from her home front yard.”

        WTF?

When her mother and father came outside after hearing her cries for help she was desperately holding a tree with one arm while plainclothes officers were beating her in the head, neck and throat.

        …more

      26. And so it begins.

        Touché.

      27. Okay guys, here’s how this will play out. The CDC “go team” which is on is way to Dallas will interview (if the patient is able) the patient, the patients family, and the airline for every person on board the flight. Depending to the size of the aircraft that’s several hundred people right up front. They will track to see if he or she had been on other flights. Let’s say he can into New York and had ended up in Dallas. The people on that flight would need to be tracked down. The team would probably put everyone who the patient had close contact with (family, co-workers and so forth) into quarentine for 21 days. If the patient was the least bit symptomatic before presenting to the hospital they will have to identify every place the person visited. Maybe he went to the grocery to gets medications and liquids, or went to church on Sunday, and the circle widens and widens. It depends on how long the patient was symptomatic before presenting to the hospital. If he sat in the ER waiting room for a long time there are those folks that need to be considered.
You can see how complicated the CDC’s task is for just one patient. So imagine how quickly something like this can grow into an impossible task.
Our plan is to now wear nitrile gloves when out in public. When arriving home have a trash receptacle outside the residence to put the gloves in . Immeadiately wash your hands well. I plan on keeping shoes I wear in public outside in the garage, making sure I dip the soles of the shoes into cholrine water. Anything that you want to bring into the home, wipe with a cholrine solution.
Now we watch and wait. If you are not ready for a long period of isolation, I urge you to get things in order. We will see in three weeks where we are, but please protect yourselves in the mean time. You can’t panic, just have a plan and supplies.

        • …yet, they let them come here via the airports anyway…

        • Now multiply that by a thousand or two, and see how the economy gets disrupted. 99% of the 500,000 people in quarantine won’t have Ebola, but for three weeks they won’t be going to work, either.

          • The point to consider is the impact on livestock and the farmers who care for them. I could envision a scenario where farms and herds are quarantined. That disruption alone would cause shortages and panic buying.

        • LMAO!

        • The Black Plague and the Secret of Thieves

As the bubonic plague decimated Europe in the year 1413, four thieves were captured and charged with robbing the dead and dying victims. When the thieves were tried, the magistrate offered leniency if they would reveal how they resisted contracting the infection as they performed their gruesome acts.Thieves-Oil-2013

The four thieves explained that they were perfumers and spice traders and told of a special concoction of aromatic herbs, including cloves and rosemary, that they rubbed on their hands, ears, and temples.

The proprietary Thieves essential oil blend was created based on research of the concoction used by the thieves of the 15th century. In 1997, studies conducted at Weber State University showed the Thieves essential oil blend to have a 99.96% success rate against airborne bacteria. The bacteria cultures were sprayed in an enclosed area, and Thieves oil blend was diffused for a given amount of time (this can be duplicated in the home using a cool-air diffuser or TheraPro Diffuser).

      28. It was only a matter of time. Doesn’t really change my plan. Just hope it doesnt. blow up with idiots overreacting.

      29. If there isn’t a full blown pandemic here in the states; I wonder what the economical impact will be.
I’m sure people in Dallas are already considering hunkering down for a bit.
The most telling event will be the location of the second domestic ebola case…. in Dallas or elsewhere?

        • i dont think working people will catch it, somebody has to pay for all this mess

      36. I seem to remember this very thing was predicted right here on shifplan.

Just watch, everyone said. You all gave the time as being towards the end of August concuring with the 21 day max incubation period.

You all didn’t miss it by much.

      37. People need to be evaluating where they’re situated if there are more cases and especially if it starts appearing near them. A militarized quarantine can come with little to no warning, because a notice would defeat the purpose. People healthy and infected would be kept in the zone.

        • I’ve created my own zone. No visitors allowed. Trespassers would be shot.

      38. i sure hope no mosquito bit him

          • Guess I am on a list for the government somewhere because I am crazy.

      42. How many people did he come in contact with at the airport, the taxi ride to his families house, his family…who are all these people coming in contact with? Ebola gestates for 3 to 21 days…how many people can have it by now…by Saturday…by next week…21 days from last Sunday. Even if each of these people infect 2 others just by going to a 7/11 or a McDonalds and each of them infect 2 and so on…a world of shit may have just started…pay attention, listen, watch, stay safe…and don’t panic.

        • No kidding. Last time I was at the airport, rode the transporter to the parking lot, got my car, drove home, stopping for a coke at a store on the way, I’ll bet I was within ten feet of at least 1000 people. Within a few hours, those 1000 people could have been in contact with 5,000 more, if all were leaving the airport, and many more thousands if they were entering the airport to travel somewhere else.

          Twelve Monkeys territory, for sure.

      43. Order on line. Tell them to leave it at the door. Carry it with gloves. Say a prayer then run with the package to a closet and spray the package with disinfectant. Wash hands.

        • Burn the delivery truck and driver, that should work.

      44. I am thinking that a trip to Costco is in order tomorrow!

I think that all it would take is for a small scale grocery store run in Dallas to make the national news. The next day it would spread nationwide. We all know what happens 72 hours after that. Ebola does not have to kill a single American to destroy our country, it only has to cause a panic from which there is no turning back.

      45. Last week it was Ebola in Nebraska, Georgia, and now it is in Texas. Well now they have the South, East and West covered. What is next one in N. Dakota? That way they will all the directions covered.

        That is one idea.

Here is another one. Make us think that there are someone with Ebola, and its all a False Flag!
Just because the Government said that there was a case means nothing. Remember “if you want to keep your doctor you can keep your doctor”? The same B.S. could be coming from the government again.

As you can tell I don’t trust them TURDS as far as I could throw them.

      47. Food for thought: As of right now the CDC is providing no details about the infected person. Imagine for a second that this person, by random luck, happens to be Muslim. Can you imagine how this would be perceived?

        • Depends. For some folks, ‘inshallah’, ‘God Wills It’.

For us non-muslims, it would be different.

Certainly could be a game-changer in this country, regarding immigration and islam, that’s for sure.

        • Should start taking odds on that

      48. In a hospital setting, who gets the job of caring for a suspected infectious disease case such as virulent Ebola? Does a nursing team get ORDERED to do this? Or do nurses volunteer for the task? I’m just curious about this detail. Also, if many more cases crop up, the system will run out of isolation wards, nurses, supplies, saline, etc… It’s a nightmare. God help us.

        • Generally, assignments are made either by the charge nurse from the previous shift, as patient acuities are evaluated. Its been my experience lately, to not have too much say in what patients I am assigned. It would be my guess that they would try and keep the number of potential care givers, to a minimum, for the obvious reasons. All bets are off if the staff are unionized.

          • Wouldn’t the caregivers for this infected man be given priority status quarantined residence on that floor and not allowed to go home or out??
            Just saying…

Personally, feel comfortably ready for bug in, gonna wait and see what develops. Standing by to contact retreat managers if more cases develop.

Has anyone heard any information about pets, dogs, cats, etc… catching Ebola? Just wondering if I missed something in a report about dead animals in the streets in West Africa…

        • DBG I’m in North Dallas (Born and raised in Tarrant County not a native dallas doucher) over here it is also life as usual. It will take multiple local ebola deaths before these people even begin to be distracted from their JR Ewing/Kim Kardashian mindset so I’m not worried about panic on this side of town for a bit.

      55. I swear, I’m not worked up about it at all. 3rd world countries are going to be screwed due to lack of clean water and medical facilities. Our .gov scares me way worse than this shit. Good gravy, do we have to have a brand new boogeyman every week. Whatever….

        • Agree: people are just not thinking on this issue. The difference in conditions between the third world and the first world is chasmic. The third world is basically a nightmare version of the darkest days of the industrial revolution in Europe, only minus the knowledge of the enlightenment, or high IQs, or functioning governments.

Most third world nations are just a clique of elites who spend their days enriching themselves and their immediate friends and families/tribes. They do not care about anything else. In fact, I had a conversation with one who said (with hearty chuckles), “we leave the taking care of the poor to those stupid NGOs and Western aid agencies to pay for.”

Under those conditions, it is no surprise problems get out of hand quickly, and take a long time and many dead to eventually be resolved. Until the next cataclysmic crisis that is.

In the West, we have many layers of protections and systems that kick in and start fighting back against a problem. These function better than anything found in the third world. Ebola in the West will be hammered down good and fast.

As for the third world, well, …

          • Agreed with you Frank until the last paragraph. It’s wait and see to see how effective those layers actually are.

And some of those laers. Ie, the LE. I fear.

      56. 2 months ago the CDC issued a level 3 travel warning for Liberia for essential travel only. Only 2 other time they have done this. Why was this individual allow entry into the US for a vacation visit with relatives?

The CDC has been repeatedly boasting about the US’s ability to recognize and handle an Ebola victim. How come the patient was released from the first unnamed medical facility after demonstrating symptoms of Ebola and with qualifiable evidence of recent activity in the hardest hit ebola zone?

        • I bet if this guy is a “Muslim”, Obama will cover it up!
A Muslim with Ebola, what are the chances this is a terror attack?
Who let this fool into the country?
Who paid for his plane ticket?
Most Liberian’s can not afford a plane ticket.

          • Simple, doubt a person knowingly carrying a disease as a weapon would visit hospital twice, once, perhaps to help the spread. You would be in every bigbox store you could, tickets say to a few public events ect.

      57. Ever since the outbreak in Africa, I have been wondering
why the precautions have been so lax. Now we know. It is
starting. Fema camps are now explained. Anyone making waves
will be proclaimed an Ebola risk, and away you go. How
many of the sheeple will object? NONE!!

      58. Im still not worried about ebola. However If I get sick ill not go to the doctor. I never go to the doctor anyway. Ive broke bones had finger bit off and never went to the doctor. I only went to the doctor to get a health card required when I was driving truck. nope ill go traveling and cough and spread whatever it is I have all over the country. visit all the state capitols and DC where all the politicians are. Its a win win As far as I can decide. if I don’t have ebola it wont matter. if I do ill make sure and take those assholes with me. and even if I caught ebola I might somehow survive it??? Why waste a chance to get rid of folks I don’t like. maybe even visit Ferguison Missouri?

        • I like the way you think bud,
Think ill keep that strategy in mind, straight to the state building, stand by the air intake and cough for a few hours

        • yeah and my Ex-es house and a few cops and sit in a few Judges Courts and get my ick all over the place , If im lucky enough blow all my money on a senate seat..lol

          • Years ago I was coming home from working all day rebuilding the final drive on a bulldozer. A state cop pulled me over because one of the taillights on my truck wasn’t working. He had me gen in the squad car while he was waiting fro the return into from the dispatcher. I was covered in greasy dirt. and I mabe sure I got it all over everything. He got out to check the vin so I put a big glop of grease in his seat. Prolly looked like he shit his pants.

        • You old b@ss t@/rd lol!

      59. Why are we not hearing about ebola in mexico or some of the other third world places that don’t have good sanitation?

        • because no mexicans are there, they are all here .

      60. By the time you finished this article, 50 000 Americans have died from lifestyle diseases.

      61. Remember the democrat moto – “CREATE A CRISIS AND DON’T LET IT GO TO WASTE” . Mandatory vaccinations coming and who would not want to be vaccinated for this????

      62. There’s a better chance of surviving Obola in the USA….UNTIL all the hospital beds are full. After that happens, additional people who contract it will be no better off than those in third world countries.

        • Sure we are,if we are all infected anyhow might as well hit Genius’s deck party and swill mead! How many folks you think will be doing that in poorer countries!

          • LOL! Always a bright side 🙂

      63. The ebola outbreak has gone on long enough to identify the hot zones. It would make sense if you traveled into one of those zones, you would submit to a voluntary isolation period to be sure you are not a carrier. It is selfish and irresponsible not to consider the health and well being of others.

        • Try to take a dog into England. 6 months quarantine because England has no natural rabies. Why the hell are we not quarantining these people from Africa at their expense for 3 weeks? What the hell is wrong with our country folks?

        NIGHTBREAKER GOING DARK

        • Night Breaker,

Sorry to hear this. I appreciate the warnings & info.

          Read this earlier today…

“A former Food and Drug Administration chief scientist and top infectious disease specialist said that several people were exposed to the Ebola virus by the unidentified patient in Dallas, America’s first case, and IT’S LIKELY THAT MANY MORE WILL BE INFECTED.

Dr. Jesse L. Goodman, now a professor of medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center, said while the nation shouldn’t panic, it’s best to prepare for the worst.”

          Washington Examiner

          • KY ,
I will post when I can it may be sporadic , all hell has broken loose here .
It might be a while before it can get posts out.

Will try to keep in touch.

      65. The Prophet speaks! Remember when Jesse Jackson admitted that when he was young he worked in a fast food restaurant and spit on white peoples food? It would be prudent to avoid fast food joints with African employees. Keep your odds low.

      66. The Prophet speaks! About 200,000 people die every year from viruses they get while in the hospital! The government might be able to manage one Ebola case, but what happens when they get 5,000?

        • it’s on prophet

      67. OMG do everything you can to stay alive because you don’t want to die and face judgment. Lets see a gallon of water a day for a family of 5. Yeah Im sure everyone has room for that much water or the equipment to dig a well. You hoarders better hide good and rub your silver bars for good luck.

        • I already have a well that has a hand pump. 5 strokes of the handle get a quart of water. Im not afeared of dying. Its not my life I prep for. Im old and my life don’t matter much. Its my grandchildren I worry about.

        • Are you too scared to prepare or are you too afraid to live?

Hoarders? No, we’re preppers. We see the storms coming and we’re preparing or already prepared.

You have a problem with that???

          • We are not preppers–we just have a lot of backup!!

      68. Top doc: ‘Several people were exposed,’ more will be infected by Dallas Ebola case

      69. Folks

quick and effective antibacterial and antiviral cleanser

        Acidic Bleach
        6Q water
        1 C bleach
        1.5 C white vinegar

Mix in plastic pail in well-ventilated space. Use as a spray solution for environmental surfaces, and to clean GLOVED hands. Although not intended as an ‘organic tissue’ cleanser, it can be used. No wiping is required, simply wash surfaces and let dry. No streaks. No residual scent, except for a brief whiff of ‘vinegar’ Can be used in shallow trays to disinfect footwear before entering any residence/room.

The acetic acid will degrade spore-coat/capsular matrix, especially in resistant agents [ mycobacteria, mycoplasmae and b. anthracis ] allowing the hypochlorite oxidizer to destroy nucleic acids, cell cytoplasm, and viral proteins ]

Simple, safe, effective, affordable, and no chance of any resistance development in little beasties

        • Whoa,

          Ohio dude.

          Thanks for the tip.

I found a report from the American Society of microbiology on why this is effective. eurekalert.org

      70. If it gets real bad in the US ground water everywhere will be contaminated from rotting corpses. What about the nuke power plants? Whos going to watch them? All will melt down. Put a fork in it. Ebola, sun flare, attack, we are already dead spiritually and morally. Face it

        • Maybe in the cities the water would be polluted by rotting human corpses. Out in the rural areas there is a great amount of road kill and it don’t remain long the crows buzzards opossums & coyotes clean it up very fast. Where I live we have 14 people per square mile. If 90% die those ten corpses wouldn’t amount to diddly squat. Heck there are 50 deer per week killed by cars and that equals much more pounds of carrion than 10 humans.

        • Guess you’ve never heard of cremation and in-ground burial.

      71. Maybe it would be a good idea to store up some strong pain killer. Im talking heroin. Ive never done it but if you are bleeding from the insides it would be some welcomed pain relief. Your thoughts please.

        • That would be a smart idea if you were able to know the doseage and the exact contents of the substance. Who knows what someone could give you. At least if you have pain pills, you know their strength. You could get something off the street and have no clue. A bunch of kids overdosed in my neighborhood when I was in high school because their dope was cut.

        • Only if you’re dying.

        • Medical morphine in known strength and doses would be better.

      72. Well this cements it, I am off to buy a black rifle.

        • .02
Get at least 1,000 rounds, The first 2 rounds clean it the next 4 rounds Clean it. the next 8 rounds clean it. The next 10 rounds clean it. (clean it means run a oil rag down the barrel. then a clean rag.) Open it up and clean it from the receiver to the muzzle. This is break in, and will make your rifle more accurate.
Now if it is a used rifle Just giver her a good cleaning.
There is a lot of good ones out there the two I like is Rock River and Bushmaster The Rock and the Bush has better triggers on them. That’s what I think.
Good luck hope you get a good one!
          Sgt.

        • SGAmmo has 1,000 round cases of 5.56 for about $350, good brass-cased stuff.

Don’t buy the steel cased imports, it works in semis, but can have feeding issues in some chambers. You think you’re saving $100 on a case of ammo buying the stuff, then you end up with 850 rounds sitting on a shelf while you go buy the good brass-cased stuff.

Ammo prices are coming down, at least until the next panic. Lots of quality stuff in stock.

      73. Gotta love the Governor of Iowa !

Obama Flies Illegal teens to Iowa . The Iowa Governor Flies Them Back To Honduras.

Governor Bransted of Iowa had announced: ” Iowa will not take any illegal children.”

Yesterday Obama overruled him and sent him 124 teens, aged13-19. When the plane landed in Des Moines the airport manager called the office of the Governor. The Governor drove to the airport and chartered a United Airlines plane from Chicago . Within 8 hours all the teens were fed and loaded on that plane. The plane left Iowa at 8 o’clock Des Moines time. It’s next stop was Honduras . The plane landed and was unloaded. Four Social Workers from Iowa made sure the teens got safely to the terminal, and the Social Workers told the Honduran officials,”Here are your teens, they have no papers, you let them come illegally to America . We refuse to take them. Iowa has its own laws. Minors from outside our country not accompanied by adults may not enter our state.”

Iowa has not heard one thing from Washington .

      74. I lurk quite a bit and green thumb the good stuff….I am in awe right now, for one…that TX hospital is where I did my clinicals…back when it was a hospital, rehab building with a professional building…I am amazed at the growth!

That said…the first thing we learned in nursing, was “hand washing is the single most effective way to stop the spread of infection.” That said….

We were taught to do a 30 second scrub of rubbing our hands together with the soap…and then rinse. Americans don’t do that too much…we did that after each patient contact and then again before the next one. The friction sends germs down the drain.

…my questions are….did he/patient zero have lay overs? If so, where? Did he change planes? Can a flight go from Liberia to Dallas on one tank of fuel? What about all the people and things he was in contact with prior to the official hospital admission with symptoms? My thoughts go towards Texas being “punished” by TPTB?

Lots to speculate about….but in the meantime, wash your hands, frequently!

        • He came in through Washington or New York, then to Dallas. So he was on two aircraft here, and two airports.

      75. Zachary Thompson, the director of Dallas County Health and Human Services, says all those who’ve been in close contact with the diagnosed patient are being monitored as a precaution. However, Thompson pointed to one person in particular as a potential second case.

“Let me be real frank to the Dallas County residents, the fact that we have one confirmed case, there may be another case that is a close associate with this particular patient,” he said in a Wednesday interview with WFAA. “… So this is real. There should be a concern, but it’s contained to the specific family members and close friends at this moment.”

The director continued to assure residents that the public isn’t at risk as health officials have the virus contained.

yeah, i feel so much better

      76. OK, The Dallas Cowboys play the Houston Texans this weekend in Dallas. Great plan to get 40-50 thousand Texas sports fans together for a few hours.
It will be interesting to see how crowded the stadium is on Sunday.

      77. Second person with Ebola, family member.
If you wanted to put a hurt on the succession of the states, which state would you hit first? TEXAS! This is one of the few states that can make it on their own.
        Just an idea.
        Sgt.

      78. Charley Waite says:
“Bottom line: You could not have invented a worse cast of characters to be in charge during such a crisis. We are screwed.”

Yeah, Bring back the team that handled New Orleans after Katrina. No, better yet, lets clean house of all the R’s and D’s and start over.

      79. A couple of people here wanted the facts and names. The AP has released some more information (the artical link will follow)

DALLAS (AP) — The first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States told relatives that he notified health care workers the first time he went to the hospital that he was visiting the U.S. from Liberia, the man’s sister said Wednesday.

Mai Wureh told The Associated Press that her brother, Thomas Eric Duncan, went to a Dallas emergency room on Friday and was sent home with antibiotics. He returned two days later after his condition worsened and was admitted to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Mark Lester confirmed Wednesday that a nurse asked Duncan on his first visit whether he had been in an area affected by the Ebola outbreak that has killed thousands in West Africa, but that “information was not fully communicated throughout the whole team.”

      80. 13 things we would like the CDC to tell us about the US 1st Ebola diagnosis

        news.sciencemag.org/health/2014/09/one-more-question-dr-frieden-thirteen-things-wed-cdc-tell-us-about-first-u-s-ebola

At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Tom Frieden, the director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), announced the first case of Ebola from the current epidemic that was diagnosed outside of Africa. The patient arrived in Dallas, Texas, on 20 September to visit relatives. Until today, the handful of people with Ebola in the United States were all diagnosed in Africa, carefully transported, and immediately provided with care in isolation units at hospitals.

The new patient had his temperature taken before boarding the flight out of Liberia on 19 September, U.S. officials say, and had no disease symptoms at the time. He first started feeling ill on 24 September, sought medical care 2 days later, and was hospitalized on 28 September. Labs at CDC and the Texas Department of State Health Services both reported that his blood tested positive today for the Ebola strain circulating in West Africa.

Two ScienceInsider reporters called in to the press conference, but there was so much interest from the media that they did not get a chance to ask a question. Here, however, are some of the questions they would like to have asked.

Q: Dr. Frieden, it sounds like the patient wasn’t tested for Ebola when he first sought medical care, on 26 September, even though he had just arrived from a country with an Ebola epidemic. Why not? Did the health care provider who saw him know he had arrived from Liberia 6 days earlier?

Q: How many health care workers and how many others came into contact with the patient before he was isolated?

Q: You said the patient’s contacts are now being monitored. Can you give some details about this? Does it include going to their homes and taking their temperature daily? Or do you communicate with them by electronic means, such as phone calls, text messages, and e-mails?

Q: Are contacts being told to isolate themselves from their friends and family while they are being monitored?

Q: Does the government have any legal authority to force potential contacts to cooperate if they don’t want to? Are they free to travel?

Q: Has the house where the patient was staying been disinfected, and if so, how exactly?

Q: What experimental therapies are available now for the patient, should he want to use them? Would you recommend anything specific?

Q: Does the patient or his family members have an idea about how he got infected?

Q: Virologist Heinz Feldmann has described procedures at the airport in Monrovia as a “disaster” and said it was the most dangerous situation he encountered during his visit to Liberia. Could the patient have become infected at the airport? Is that possibility being investigated?

Q: What is the estimated number of people entering the United States each week who have recently been in one of the countries affected by the epidemic?

Q: The number of Ebola cases is roughly doubling every 3 weeks; CDC’s own worst case-scenario says there may be as many as 1.4 million patients by 20 January. Should the United States and other countries prepare to see imported cases on a regular basis?

Q: The World Health Organization has raised the possibility that Ebola could become endemic in West Africa. If that happens, how should the United States deal with people traveling from these countries in the future?

Q: One more question, Dr. Frieden. The United States is paying a lot of attention to this single case right now. Do you think that will increase the amount of money and number of people the United States is willing to dedicate to containing the outbreak in West Africa?

      81. 5 children under observation after visiting residence where Ebola patient was staying. 3 Fire/rescue workers also under observation. They transported the patient to the hospital. Big ass news conference earlier, included Gov. Perry… Bottom line, it’s under control, don’t panic, everything’s gonna be ok. Yep, ok.

      82. Has someone thought of having colloidal silver in your preps? I use it for colds (viral & bacterial), and it has always stopped them in one to two days. I’ve heard that colloidal silver works on the Ebola virus but I can’t seem to find the reference.

http://www.thesilveredge.com has information on silver’s effectiveness as an anti viral and an anti bacterial. They also sell colloidal silver generators.

      83. So a question for all of those on this site…at what point do you go into total lockdown? Now? Or is it too late?

        • Way early. If you look at the data from Africa (And I admit it’s VERY poor) The problem is bad, but it’s only in the last 2-3 months that a significant number of people have the virus. This outbreak seems to have started almost a year ago. Until it gets to the US and we get cases in the thousands it’s still early, after all with 315,000,000 people 300 cases is still one in a million. We take risks like that every day.
We are a lot cleaner than Africa, so it should spread much slower, so I’d doubt we will have any problem soon. I’d not worry at all until someone in your area has it that didn’t go to Africa or have a known connection. The world is NEVER completely safe.

          • Quick add: Unless the deaths get into the millions; The panic will be far worse. Consider everyone afraid to go anywhere, people quarantined inside power plants to keep them running, same for water, think truckers refusing to deliver into cites etc; this will be far worse.

        • Too early for lockdown, unless you work at the Dallas hospital.

Do be proactive and get some food and water stocked up, to last 30-60 days. You’re going to spend $500 or $750 easily, if you have nothing right now.

First $250, get rice, pasta, salt, cooking oil, canned fruits, canned vegetables, canned tomatoes, canned chili, soups, stuff like that, and include 30 cans of meat, like spam, chicken, tuna, corned beef, salmon, stuff like that.

Next $250, double the above, and include anything you think you will need.

Get some water containers at WalMart, they sell 6-gallon plastic containers, they look like metal jerrycans. Fill them up at home and set aside.

      84. I have spent all day looking for N95 masks online. Prices & kinds & sizes vary WILDLY. Could someone please give me a quick course so I don’t waste my money before they are all gone??? thank you

        • N-95 should not be more than about $3 – $4 each — the N-100’s can run you $7 to $10…. I’d recommend checking out the local hardware store as well (Home depot, lowe’s)… They carry both, N-95 and N-100 (not sure if they are still in stock, though).

      85. Just spoke with an ED Nurse. She said the guy came to the emergency room and was sent home. He was home a few days and got much worse then was admitted. We are not ready.

      86. A former Food and Drug Administration chief scientist and top infectious disease specialist said that several people were exposed to the Ebola virus by the unidentified patient in Dallas, America’s first case, and it’s likely that many more will be infected.

Dr. Jesse L. Goodman, now a professor of medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center, said while the nation shouldn’t panic, it’s best to prepare for the worst.

“It is quite appropriate to be concerned on many fronts,” he said in a statement provided to Secrets. “First, it is a tragedy for the patient and family and, as well, a stress to contacts, health care workers and the community at large. Second, it appears several people were exposed before the individual was placed in isolation, and it is quite possible that one or more of his contacts will be infected,” he added.

What’s more, he conceded that it was “only a matter of time” that the swift-killing African virus arrived in the U.S.

“If anyone did not agree before, bringing the epidemic in Africa under control is an absolute emergency and requires a massive effort and global commitment now long overdue. This is a matter not just of preventing death and suffering in Africa, but, as this case brings home to the U.S., of global safety and security,” he warned.

He also strongly suggested that the one case will not be the end.

      87. This Ebola bit is just a scare tactic to institute forced vaccinations
Stop being victim to their game of fear …..they only survive by our fear !!!

        • Nice try, Rich99, but there is no vaccine, yet.

          • nice try but you wanna make a damn bet right now that there will be ????? cmon big mouth

      88. Funny how here in Dallas, The Walking Dead, reruns just started playing on TV today.

      89. nothing like a real event to make you think of what
you have not done to prepare!!!! I have a lot of work
        to do.

      90. Survivors of Ebola may work in the quarantine areas without surgical masks or other protection. Let her rip.

      91. How to make your Thieves essential oil blend.

It is important to not at this time order that the essential oils go into this blend is just as important as how much of each, so start at #1.

40 drops clove bud essential oil
        36 drops lemon essential oil
20 drops cinnamon bark essential oil
        16 drops eucalyptus essential oil
        10 drops rosemary essential oil

In a glass amber bottle with either a normal lid, a dropper or a spray top, combine all oils, to make a larger amount at once just double amounts. Store just as you would any other essential oils, avoiding direct sunlight.

        • Thieves oil originated from around the 15th century, when the bubonic plague was running rampid through Europe and Asia. Four thieves from Europe, who were notoriously robbing the infectious dead bodies of all their possessions. They, miraculously, never contracted the highly infectious plague and this led to deep inquiry in court after they were caught and charged. The magistrate offered them a deal, their secret for a reduced sentence. Taking the deal, they told stories of their knowledge of essential oils and their powerful medicinal properties when combined in certain ways. This specific oil that they had created, concocted from aromatic herbs and oils, was HIGHLY EFFECTIVE in killing all of the airborne bacteria. In fact, in 1997, Weber State University did a study that found this oil to have a 99.96% success rate at killing airborne bacteria. We don’t know whether or not this story is true, but the essential oils are antiseptic, antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-infectious. They will stimulate the immune system, circulation and respiratory system, and help protect against the flu, colds, bronchitis, pneumonia, sore throats, cuts, and more.

“Research conducted at Weber State University in cooperation with D. Gary Young, as well as other documented research, indicates that most viruses, fungi, and bacteria cannot live in the presence of many essential oils, especially those high in phenols, carcacrol, thymol, and terpenes. This, perhaps, offers a modern explanation why the Old Testament prophet Moses used aromatic substances to protect the Isrealites from the plagues that decimated ancient Egypt. It may also help us understand why a notorious group of theives, reputed to be spice traders and perfumers, was protected from the Black Plague as they robbed the bodies of the dead during the 15th century.” (Essential Oils Desk Reference, 4th Edition, p6)
