How A North Korean Electromagnetic Pulse Attack Could Kill Millions And Turn America Into A Post-Apocalyptic Wasteland

Do you LOVE America?

This is why North Korea’s test of an intercontinental ballistic missile is so important. North Korea had test fired a total of 22 missiles so far this year, but this latest one showed that nobody on the globe is out of their reach. In fact, General Mattis is now admitting that “North Korea can basically threaten everywhere in the world”, and that includes the entire continental United States. In addition to hitting individual cities with nukes, there is also the possibility that someday North Korea could try to take down the entire country with an EMP attack. If the North Koreans detonated a single nuclear warhead several hundred miles above the center of the country, it would destroy the power grid and fry electronics from coast to coast.

I would like you to think about what that would mean for a few moments. Suddenly there would be no power at home, at work or at school. Since nearly all of our vehicles rely on computerized systems, you wouldn’t be able to go anywhere and nobody would be able to get to you. And you wouldn’t be able to contact anyone because all phones would be dead. Basically, pretty much everything electronic would be dead.  I am talking about computers, televisions, GPS devices, ATMs, heating and cooling systems, refrigerators, credit card readers, gas pumps, cash registers, hospital equipment, traffic lights, etc.

For the first couple of days life would continue somewhat normally, but then people would soon start to realize that the power isn’t coming back on and panic would begin to erupt.

The intercontinental ballistic missile that North Korea just launched traveled almost 1,000 kilometers and reached a maximum altitude of 4,500 kilometers. We have been told for decades that this would never be allowed to happen, but now it has happened

This is concerning for one big reason: according to General Mattis, the North Korean ICBM “went higher, frankly, than any previous” and “North Korea can basically threaten everywhere in the world.” This was confirmed by North Korea missile analyst, Shea Cotton, who cited Allthingsnuclear author David Wright, and who told the BBC that the initial estimates of the ICBM test mean that North Korea can now reach New York and Washington DC.

If we had been working hard to develop our anti-missile technology all these years, this wouldn’t be a problem.

But at this point we are way behind the Russians in this regard, and there is a very real possibility that a missile launched by the North Koreans could make it through the very limited anti-missile defenses that we do have.

Once upon a time, discussions about a North Korean EMP threat were mostly hypothetical, but now that has completely changed. North Korea has clearly demonstrated that they are able to deliver such an attack, and last September Kim Jong Un publicly admitted that North Korea intended to develop this capability

But most reporters missed a key threat that appeared at the bottom of Kim’s public statement, when he bragged that North Korea had harnessed “a multi-functional thermonuclear nuke with great destructive power which can be detonated at high altitudes for super-powerful EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack according to strategic goals.”

So now we know. Launching an electromagnetic pulse attacks against its enemies is one of North Korea’s strategic goals. And for North Korea, the United States is the top enemy.

And like I said earlier, all it would take would be a single well placed nuclear detonation to fry electronics from coast to coast.  The following comes from the Daily Mail

Theoretically, a sufficiently powerful bomb detonated at an altitude of 249 miles would wipe out all electronics in the US, save the southernmost top of Florida and the easternmost states – as well as affecting Canada and Mexico.

Without power, nothing would get distributed. That means that very rapidly there would be no food, no water and no medicine available in your community. An article posted by Fox News this week used the term “post-apocalyptic” to describe what we would be facing…

It all starts to sound very post-apocalyptic when you realize this means no lights or other electric-powered devices in homes and businesses, no water filtration, no regional food hubs, no transportation grid – none of the things we take for granted in modern civilization.

Like I stated earlier, things would be relatively fine for a few days, but then once everyone realizes that the power isn’t coming back on there would be chaos on a scale unlike anything we have ever seen before. The following comes from an article by Mac Slavo

The first 24 – 48 hours after such an occurrence will lead to confusion among the general population as traditional news acquisition sources like television, radio and cell phone networks will be non-functional.

Within a matter of days, once people realize the power might not be coming back on and grocery store shelves start emptying, the entire system will begin to delve into chaos.

Within 30 days a mass die off will have begun as food supplies dwindle, looters and gangs turn to violent extremes, medicine can’t be restocked and water pump stations fail.

So what kind of a “mass die off” would we be talking about?

Well, some of the top experts in the field believe that “up to 90 percent of all Americans” could end up dead if the power outage lasted long enough…

William Graham, chairman of the former EMP commission and its former chief of staff, Peter Vincent Pry, warned the hearing that such an attack could “shut down the US electric power grid for an indefinite period, leading to the death within a year of up to 90 percent of all Americans.

Others believe that the figure would be lower, but pretty much everyone agrees that the death toll would be in the millions.

This is one of our greatest strategic vulnerabilities, and our power grid could be hardened against an EMP attack for just a few billion dollars. This is something that I am pushing very hard for, but right now it is just not a priority for our leaders in Washington.

In fact, they have actually pulled funding from the commission that was looking into the EMP threat…

On Sept. 30, the Congressional Commission to Assess the Threat of Electromagnetic Pulse to the United States of America shut its doors after a failure to secure funding from Congress.

Sometimes I find it difficult to come up with the words to describe how incredibly foolish Congress is being.

An EMP attack is a greater threat than ever before, and yet Congress didn’t even want to come up with a little bit of funding for the commission that was working on a plan to protect us.

This is yet another example that shows that we need new leadership on Capitol Hill, because right now the people that we have “representing” us in Washington seem to be completely and utterly clueless about almost everything.

      1. Congress doesn’t want the American people to ask the question “Is the country prepared for an EMP attack and what is being done to prepare?” The answers are no and nothing. Congress realizes there is little they can do to prevent an attack so they avoid the question and hope the average American stays oblivious to the threat.

        • if you want to know what amerika will be like after an EMP watch the movie “The Road”. but be sure to keep your NRA membership paid up.

        • If that comes to pass feel free to come to Kenya especially my village. Here you fetch your water from a stream, you grow your food, you use herbal medicine, you use wood for fuel and lighting, etc etc. By the way if Kim was a danger to us here the village shaman would send him a overdose of diarhoea spell that would make his baby face resemble that of a mummified pharaoh in two days.

      2. As I have noted before, Nova Scotia, and particularly Cape Breton in the far east of the province, are far out of range of any anticipated EMP strike.

      3. WW3 starts with an EMP.

      4. This is complete and utter drivel.

So here we go again… Educate yourself about how this is an overblown bit of nonsense…

For one thing, keep in mind that if North Korea fired an EMP over the US, what about the several US Navy nuclear carrier groups and the numerous nuclear submarines that would be completely unaffected and could instantly rain down enough nukes on North Korea to destroy the country several times over? You think North Korea is that stupid? If so, then you’re stupid.

While it may be possible for a solar event to cause an EMP – and we have zero evidence as to how or how much – any man-made EMP event will be a prelude to nuclear war. And in a nuclear war, you’ve got more to worry about than your iPad and iPhone not working…

Oh, and by the way, please note that the people promoting this “North Korea EMP” nonsense are people like former CIA head James Woolsey and Newt Gingrich who have been trying to get the US to attack North Korea for the last fifteen years. And why? Because North Korea has SIX TO TEN TRILLION dollars worth of undeveloped natural resources. Resources which corporations in South Korea and the US and elsewhere would like to get their hands on if the Koreas were “reunified”.

In other words, it’s all about the MONEY.

        • RS Hack;
Puhleeees– We are not looking for reason here!

        • RS Hack…Obviously you have not traveled the world and lived in the southern hemisphere. The individuals in power are not concerned about preservation of their people but destruction of others. Namely, the US, who even in its most conservative state provides and assists others…

Have you ever figured out how these bad guys got in power? Preservation of people was not a tool…destruction was…

Your a hero in your own mind…

          • Excuse me you’re vs your…

          • donald, Since when did North Korea slide into the Southern Hemisphere?

        • Excuse me you’re vs your…

        • Richard Steven Hack, You are 100% correct, I have been saying the same thing for years,it is the same old warmongering, and they scare the heck out of those that fall for their propaganda. Then they end up getting their Moneymaking and empire building war, and everyone comes together to support them and their lies! In the process they cause nations to develop the weapons they say they want to stop, because the warmongers will, find a way to attack!

      5. Some say that if a turkey looks up while its raining could cause a turkey to drown. I believe that about as much as I believe 90 percent of Americans would perish after a grid crippling emp. Fear mongering at its finest.

        • I don’t know about 90% but having been where the transcon telephone line was down and you couldn’t buy anything without cash and in Ca when they had a small earthquake and the power was out, so the gas pumps, cash registers and a few bridges were out I believe IT WOULD BE BAD. VERY VERY BAD

          • If there ever is an EMP here it would definately be a false flag. NK can’t hit us without US letting it happen. In fact I bet the deep state will do it and blame them for it to get the party started, order out of chaos ya know. Won’t kill me I will just go to my place and live on solar and preps for years. Got cash? Got fuel? Got backups and comms? I’m pretty sure my arsenal will still work fine too lol.

            • Oh ya, sugar and yeast too! And a shortwave and scanner to monitor it all while you sit back and have a drinky poo and say “I told you so”.

              • I’ll raise my mason jar and drink to that!

            • you know tx is independent from the rest of the country for electrical production/transmission. we would be a perfect 9/11 event as the rest of the country wouldn’t suffer a minute. when it happens, it will be ugly and 80+% will perish within the first week if that long. no h2o and food gone from looting the stores in minutes, what would you do to survive? if all computerized/electronic ignition systems fail, no electricity, h2o, sewer, gas, trucks, etc. cities will be a wonderful to place avoid. everyone is stuck if nothing works except the 65 chevy.

            • Genius, You are right!

          • I agree. 50% of the US population, some say 60% do not have $500 in savings. Think about that for a moment.

On recent forays out into the world I have noticed people glued to their devices. Imagine those devices no long functioning. Try taking away a device from a sixth-grader. Or a 20-something. Or a 30-something. That vacant look in their eyes tells you everything you need to know.

I keep a stash of $20 bills in my desk, at home. I also have a stash of food and can make a rocket stove.

If this goes down it would be a good time to hit your hunting cabin or fire up the RV and take a little trip. Outta town.

              • Oh yes at times lie this it is good to laugh! Cute video. Ironic but cute!

                TYVM Genius 🙂

              • giggling

                that was too funny

            • You clearly don’t get it! That there R V ain’t gonna work… smh

        • You can live only three days without clean water , You will die a horrible death if you drink dirty or contaminated water and you will die if you are under the bomb from radiation poisoning , Fear-mongering ? I think not……

        • I could believe 90% of large cities being obliterated because leftist communist would mad max it as fast as they could

          • I agree life in the cities would be horrible.

Thinking about the Black Friday brawls and stampedes…

If people will do this over a TV, what happens when food runs out?

      6. “Our country is in danger, but not to be despaired of. Our enemies are numerous and powerful; but we have many friends, determining to be free, and heaven and earth will aid the resolution. On you depend the fortunes of America. You are to decide the important question, on which rest the happiness and liberty of millions yet unborn. Act worthy of yourselves.”
        —Joseph Warren (1775)

      7. Mr. Snyder: Why are you surprised Congress does nothing? All they way from Helga calling me daily to tell me I immediately need to call her about my credit cards (Which I have not owed any on in years) To illegal immigrants, and a hundred other items Congress hasn’t done any real work in years.

        • Paranoid your wrong, congress is doing something right now, their working on finding out what congressman is sticking his finger or dick into what woman. Gee, lets see, what’s more important to our nation, dicks or bombs????

          • you have to ask?

          • TallMan,
They are working on more than finding out which congressmen perverts are “behaving badly”……For years they’ve been dipping into our tax dollars to pay off the victims. Why should WE being paying to get these perverts out of trouble????
            Yep…they’ve been real busy………

      8. “Meh”

        • “How A North Korean Electromagnetic Pulse Attack Could Kill Millions And Turn America Into A Post-Apocalyptic Wasteland”

Geeez Snyder, I’m going to need adult diapers if you keep posting shit like this. By the way, I would never vote for you because you are an “is real hell” lover. You talk a good game but I can see through it. Problem is, there’s no one better….. KNOW YOUR ENEMY STUPID! Oh well back to flushing paper boats down the toilet….

      9. As Dr Pry has pointed out elsewhere, there is an unadvertised but perverse thinking in play here. Our military planners are using our enormous vulnerability to an EMP attack as justification to conduct a first strike. Before we “take names and kick tail” in yet another foreign conflict – especially one which could have such dire consequences – we need to harden our five electrical grids and implement an appropriate alerting system and shelters for the general population. Anything less is morally repugnant.

        • Given that those five grids have not been hardened, you begin to understand. That is the point.

We are expendable. The government isn’t here to protect the little people. The government has one purpose: to protect itself.

And I agree about moral repugnancy. I have been at the vomit-ready stage for years.

        • This is the age of moral relatavism don’t ya know….

        • “implement an appropriate alerting system and shelters for the general population.”

Why do you think Jade Helm is practiced every summer?

      10. One can hope!

        • Only if you smoke some hopeium lol.

      11. The cities would implode with the failure of EBT cards. Hopefully the cockroaches would kill each other off.

      12. With millions dying after an EMP the government would be free from paying out all benefits(medical, social security,pensions.etc.) Their excuse for having an EMP.

        • Ehhh, I knew them fookers would steal my pension. But I am fairly good at archery. I can be the real Robin Hood and take from the rich and give to the poor (me). 🙂

      13. Why do most articles on this subject omit the scenarios of aircraft falling from the sky and the nuclear power stations going into meltdown mode due to the loss of cooling capability for the fuel rods. Most authors that address this situation, state that we would have approximately a week before this would happen, due to the back-up generators running out of fuel. And even this takes place after a supposed emergency shut-down has happened. But I disagree. Any nuclear power station effected would surely lose its back-up generators to the EMP. Without ANY electricity, to power the controls and equipment, the emergency shut-down systems will NOT actuate and the meltdown sequence would begin immediately. Dozens and dozens of Fukishima events across our country. Think it through. Prayer is our only REAL protection now!

      14. Well, we are already an economic wasteland.
Ask all of the people working 2 part-time jobs.
BLS is a joke with all of their phony unemployment numbers.
Take a person thats unemployed long-term and takes a part-time job.
BLS counts that as a job created.
If that same person takes another part time job, they count that as another job created.
So we have something like 93 million people out of work and they say that the
unemployment rate is around 4 1/2%.
Lets get fucking real. You cannot believe anything the government says.

But on a side note, the opioid industry is booming thanks to the worlds largest drug cartel,
AKA The CIA. Using NATO airbases in Europe as trafficking hubs. Our intel agencies just
find the darnedest ways to fund all of their black ops, as well as our military.
Talk about creative financing. They make Pablo Escobar look like a shoeshine boy.
Plus, they give all of our news outlets the most spot-on, accurate information. (sarc)

We are already in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. But, hey, Wal-Mart is still open.
You can disclaim Deagel as an internet hoax. Maybe so. It still should make people wonder how we go from over 320 million (useless eaters) to 60 million in just a few years.
Something would have to happen. Maybe (?) this event happens by design.

Makes me wonder if our Canadian and Mexican neighbors would welcome all of our
hungry, depleted, surviving hordes at their borders.
You better believe reinforced strands of razor wire would stretch for miles.
Start building your rafts now. Don’t forget the paddle.

      15. Most cars will keep running. Look at the EMP Commission results. I don’t know why this is always reported during these emp posts. It makes me question if anything is right.

        • An EMP would shut down the electric grid. Without electricity, gas stations would not be pumping gas.

Without gas, cars and trucks won’t be running.

      16. And when shtf the people wil go to walmart for food and water (mabye it’s free)
Than you walk into walmart and you wil be dragged underground to a FEMA camp where they kill you! 90% off global population needs to die!! Georga guidstones!

      17. To those who disparage the idea that an EMP would/could cause a massive loss of life, I ask you to just look at a grocery store, Wally-World, any ‘daily needs’ store the day after the EBT cards are re-allocated the monthly amounts the ‘entitled’ get. All one has to do is imagine what those same people would be like if they couldn’t buy their piggy-pops, soda-pop and crab claws when they ‘needed’ them. Let alone the disposable diapers that’ll be found in the parking lots post-use should those same down-trodden masses not get their hand-outs. No folks, it’d be a very very short time before those people would be coming to anyone and everyplace to get ‘their’s’. And then, the dying would really begin.

        • Look at the fights at the stores on Black Friday to get the Christmas gifts for their kids. That is just a small sample of what would happen when food and water is in short supply.

      18. If an EMP happens in the U.S. I think it would be absolute disaster. Are you kidding, all of these clowns would fall apart and go berserk after about 5 minutes flat. NO smart phone, no internet, etc, etc. most have 3-4 days worth of food in their homes and that’s it. No ATM’s will work, no working gas pumps, probably no water or what 1 case of water if that, no working cash registers, etc, etc. People would utterly flip their wigs! And then the rioting and looting would kick in and anyone that tried to enter my place well, it would be target practice but FOR REAL and no more silly, annoying paper targets folks.

      19. even IF the cars still work, most everything else won’t.

w/o electricity the average human will die off.

        prep your stuff

        prep your soul

      20. Correct me if I am wrong, but a high altitude detonation EMP effect would only cover about 100 miles, and it would take 50 plus detonations in orbit to knock out our grid? Conventional blast radius is 30+ miles, affected radius 100+ plus miles if ground detonatotion occures. So how would a single nuke in the center of the US “orbit” knock out the entire grid? Im not buying it, I usualy come to this site for laughs anyway….

      21. The people of Venezuela have not been attacked by an EMP, but they are suffering from power outages. Loss of electricity is more possible as a result of economic and social chaos. This is a better reason to have a source of backup power than a Korean EMP attack.

      22. The trajectory would reveal itself and allow sufficient time for CM, and DPRK would dead to exist, their observer at the IN, could then apply for a janitors position.
The real issue is the jeopardy of our people, military allies and civilians in ROK, JA.

      23. Sorry auto correct glitch…correction
        “would cease to exist”

      24. “In fact, they have actually pulled funding from the commission that was looking into the EMP threat…”

The EMP is only theoretical, but ways of averting it have been diagrammed, for generations, already. What is the scope of this new discussion, and how much money does it cost, to discuss it.

      25. Regarding EMP impacts plan and prepare as if your were in WWII – a paratrooper – in the Battle of the Bulge. Use that image as a start point then wish/dream to fix, and, execute preparation accordingly – applies to winter…

      26. View all this hysteria through one prism: defence contracts. This is the only reason the North Koreans are the latest bogey man out to get the US. Basically the US has created a long list of bogey men, who can be switched in at convenience when a defence contract needs signing. If Iranians, Muslims, Koreans did not exist, then it would be the dangers of the ‘French Menace’ or the evil-doers of Buddhism, or “watch out! The Bhutanese defence program has an incence stick that could wipe out Detroit!!!!!!!”.

      27. Doubt it would be calm for a few days, food stamp people went nuts a couple of hours after their Electronic Benefit Cards stopped working due to a technical glitch. However, transportation being down will slow down activities outside highly Urban areas.

      28. Without electricity we will quickly regress to a stone age existence. Well I got my cave bring it on.

      29. If you think the US didn’t develop Star Wars type defenses that could knock out missiles and almost anything else, then wake up. HAARP alone, could stop missiles in their tracks.
