The Fort Liberty web site recently published a list of web destinations that they say distribute wildly unbelievable and bombastic claims with little or no reference material or sourcing.
A few of these web sites may be run by truly insane people who actually believe what they publish, but if so that is a small minority. One of the proofs of this is how obviously fake the articles are.
As you’ll note from the list below, many of the sites mentioned are some of the most popular in alternative media with communities in excess of millions of readers monthly.
While there is no doubt that a small percentage of reports being made available in alternative media are inaccurate, that same could be said for mainstream media news. The nature of the news cycle is such that sometimes a report is issued before all the facts are in. To suggest that every site on the list offers only fake news, hoaxes or satire is obviously disingenuous, as web sites that made the list such as Infowars.com, Intellihub.com, NaturalNews.com, BeforeItsNews.com and TheDailySheeple.com regularly cite not one, but multiple sources, often directly from the mainstream, for the news reports and commentary they are issuing.
Thus, the hoax being perpetrated, ironically, appears to be coming from Fort Liberty, rather than the scores of web sites they identify in their list.
What we know from past “lists” identifying many of the same web sites you’ll see below is that these are exactly the web destinations you should be visiting regularly, as they provide a level of news that is often impossible to find through mainstream sources.
We’ve included the list for you below. The original list was published without hyperlinks, presumably because the authors do not want readers to actually visit the web sites in question so that they can determine for themselves the legitimacy of the material. We have thus added clickable links so that you, the reader and independent thinker can make the determination for yourself.
We are, by the way, a bit upset that we did not make this year’s list. It would have been an honor to be listed among some of the world’s leading alternative journalists and information aggregators . We’ll try harder in 2016! However, we are truly thankful that our sister web site The Daily Sheeple (which, incidentally, heavily cites and references a majority of all articles being published) was included in the ranks of the best of the best.

Never mind Mac, it turns out that I can’t get to most of these sites by using IP addresses b/c most of the pages are on the server of a web-hosting service. One such service was hosting 179 different sites on the same server and IP. I know of no way to specify which site I want to address using just IP.

Some of the sites on the list I know are bogus, but most others I’m not familiar with so I won’t comment on them. I consider all MSM sources to be full of shit, especially since they’re owned and controlled by a certain ‘tribe’.

Well our site is not on the list but we sure are on Facebooks list.
Writers and posters have been blocked for 3 day periods and then blocked again within a few hours of the block being released.
This has been going on since the end of Dec 2015.
I don’t know how others are going with Facebook apart from the 20 or so I know that post true investigative news.

I get blocked on YouTube. They block my comments for a while so when I go to make a comment it just won’t post. Then they unblock me and block me again once I start commenting again. They also closed my Google+ account so now I don’t even know when someone is answering my comment. Censorship is alive and well in the interwebs.
I had my Yahoo email account taken away last year. Apparently quoting the “peaceful” verses in the Quran, and merely listing attacks perpetrated by the Religion of Peace, was upsetting to the powers that be at Yahoo.

The only issue with some of those sites is they sometimes tend to over exaggerate things. Infowars, for example, will at times use overly sensationalistic headlines as click bait. However, most of the stories are well cited and well written and many even come from more mainstream sources.

Are they really over-exaggerating? I suppose it depends upon who you ask, who is affected, who doesn’t give a hoot, and, who picks up the bill (or makes a bundle). TheHousingBubbleBlog was my first introduction to that phenomenon.

One thing is for sure, if you mention anything outside the narrative of the main stream media, some people will automatically get this ‘deer in the headlights’ look about them and get all cross-eyed. …It’s like you’re breaking through some hypnotic trance or something.
In my experience, they respond by putting their fingers in their ears and say, “No! No! No!”. Then they twirl and you get the impression they are lost forever.
I actually like to take a balanced approach. We have heard the world was going to collapse any day now ever since 2007 or 2008 and it hasn’t. It’s muddled through. So I like to consider the extreme cases presented in both the mainstream press and the more extreme press and question both for logic equally. I called the housing bubble bust before it happened because it made sense in terms of fundamentals. Income was not increasing at anywhere near the same rate as housing prices so logically people could not afford to keep paying ever more for it. People told me I was nuts, that housing never loses value, but I was right. Many issues can be resolved in a similar manner by looking at objective facts, not emotions.
This is not to say that I dismiss the alternative press. Not at all. I think it brings facts and analysis to light that I otherwise would not be exposed to because of just how sanitized the mainstream news tends to be. I want to get to choose that which makes the most logical sense to me. However, when I see emotionally charged rhetoric, I tend to give articles a more critical eye because the author may have lost objectivity due to either strongly held personal beliefs, or a need to drive site traffic. This happens on all news sites though, whether they be alternative or mainstream, so please don’t think I am singling out one over the other. Most writers and reporters have an agenda. It’s up to you to see if it has clouded their judgement and you can only do that by looking at multiple angles on a given story. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle.

I think that SHTF Plan should have made the Fort Liberty site “linkable”. I had to look them up myself which took me away from this site. Once I found Fort liberties site I was able to confirm what Mac said. What I found refreshing was reading their comments section. I think shtfplan should have made Fort liberty clickable as it could have sent many of us to their comment section.; something I think they would not like.
