The Democratic Republic of Congo has been alerted to an outbreak of Ebola.  In the past five weeks, there have been 21 cases of the infection reported, and 17 of those are now deceased.

The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo declared the outbreak of Ebola hemorrhagic fever, a rare and deadly disease, on Tuesday, the World Health Organization reported.  The declaration of an outbreak came after laboratory results confirmed two cases of the disease in the province of Bikoro in the northwestern part of the country. Bikoro is situated on the shores of Lake Tumba near the border with the Republic of the Congo. The new cases were reported from a small health facility about 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Bikoro.

The average case fatality rate for Ebola hemorrhagic fever is around 50%. The deadly virus most commonly affects people and nonhuman primates (monkeys, gorillas, and chimpanzees) and is caused by one of five Ebola viruses.

“We will gather more samples, conduct contact tracing, engage the communities with messages on prevention and control, and put in place methods for improving data collection and sharing,” said Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, the WHO’s regional director for Africa. “WHO will work closely with health authorities and partners to support the national response.”

Upon learning of the confirmed cases, the WHO alerted neighboring countries and set up its Incident Management System to fully dedicate staff and resources to the response. A government statement released Tuesday stated that the Ministry of Health has “taken all necessary measures to respond promptly and effectively to this new epidemic of Ebola in the DRC’s national territory.”

Unfortunately, the DRC has a history with the Ebola virus. This is its ninth outbreak of Ebola virus disease since the discovery of the virus in the country in 1976. The last outbreak, in 2017, was quickly contained.  There are hopes that a quick response will all see this recent outbreak contained rapidly as well. WHO has also released $1 million from a contingency fund to support its activities in the containment efforts of this outbreak for the next three months.

Speaking on behalf of the Democratic Republic of Congo Minister of Health, Lambert Matuku, the Minister of State and Labor, said, it is “a worrisome sanitary situation.”

      1. EBOLA’S BACK! OUTBREAK ALERT After 21 Cases And 17 Deaths Reported In Last 5 Weeks

Damn that Bill Gates!!! – ツ

        • LOL!!! FTW. I thought the same thing. “boy, Billy’s vaccine sure does work great!!!’. I say stoke the ‘fire’ of this breakout and offer free flights to the Middle East for any refugees who can’t get treatment for their infections. Hell, send a few really sad cases to China and NK for the up and coming summit as well. There…. a whole bunch of problems solved. Let this Ebola outbreak run its course. Best thing that could happen to the African and Asian continents.

          • Agree: Ebola is a disease of filth. If a population is bathed in filth, not washing their hands before eating, wiping their butts with their hands, f-cking anything that moves, from monekys to somebody else’s wife, then Ebola emerges. Ebola goes nowhere when it hits a modern population where people wash themselves, have modern science and health systems. Remember the last scare?

Africa and the Middle East definitely need, no deserve, Ebola.

          • Send it to where you live!

      2. Africa is a nightmare continent.

      3. Of course Ebola’s back. Yellowstone is just taking too damn long exploding.

        • ROTFL!

      4. Of course Ebola’s back. Yellowstone is just taking too damn long exploding.

      5. WHO is on first.

      6. The liberal federal judges are anxiously preparing to strike down any or all attempts by the white house to keep this virus from spreading into our nation.

      7. And if the “human” population in Africa is decimated by Ebola, then maybe the continent can recover from the dark plague….and the ‘lower’ species won’t go extinct. Sounds like a good thing to me.!!!!

      8. $64,000.00 question: How many were “i n n o c u l at e d” with Ebola?

      9. Time for another distraction!

        • Yeah, time for Obama to call for them to be brought to the US.
          You know, for “treatment”.
Meaning, spread the wealth a little.

        • Yep Demi:

All we need for injustice to flourish is for good people to take their minds off the ball.

      10. I’m sure this will got spun. To make presedent Trump at fault. He made this Ebola outbreak in Africa because he racist. Or something like that.

      11. Me three on sending Gates with a big pharmacy vaccine to eradicate ebola in Africa. Side effects are death in micro fine print.

      12. All they need is a $10.00 bottle of “Food Grade” Hydrogen Peroxide, add a few drops into drinking water or any beverage. Ebola, viruses, bacteria, mold, sterilizing, GONE! It’s the AMA’s best keep secret.

NOTE: You should NOT USE any type of hydrogen peroxide unless it is “FOOD GRADE.” The junk you buy at grocery stores and most health food stores (brown bottle) has toxic chemicals added to it and is for EXTERNAL USE ONLY and should NEVER be swallowed. 35% must be diluted down to 3% with water and instructions are on the bottle.

Youtube deleted my channel and G+ account for talking about “One Minute Miracle” brand. Prices are going up because more people are finding out that H202 can cure nearly every disease except the mental illnesses of wicked creatures ruining our planet. Ambriel
