He made the crash call ahead of the 2008 crash, and predicted the market turn-around in 2009 to the exact day on which it happened.
Now Dr. Marc Faber of the Gloom, Boom and Doom Report is warning of an imminent stock market meltdown yet again.
Based on analysis of current stock market prices and the overall value of stock market indexes like the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones, Faber warns that, while we are seeing near all-time highs, the valuations are nothing but conjecture.
Looking at the makeup of the major indexes, it’s clear that their high values have become dependent on a small number of companies. A peak into what’s happening behind the scenes,however, shows that scores of other companies are being crushed because of weak earnings and a poor forwarding looking economic outlook.
This, according to Dr. Doom, is remarkably similar to what we saw in the days and weeks leading up to the 1987 crash.
It’s a recipe for disaster.
[In 1987] we had a very powerful rally, but also earnings were no longer rising substantially and the market became very overbought and the final rally into August 25th occurred with a diminishing number of stock hitting 52 week highs. In other words, the new high list was contracting and we had several breaks in different stocks.
And if you look at the last two days, it’s remarkable.
We’re close to the all-time highs at 1,709 on the S&P [500] and yesterday and the day before there were 170 new 52-week lows.
That’s a very high figure.

The market may not act “normally” as it has in the past. Bernanke’s helicopter money has to go somewhere, and there is almost nil participation by the man on the street anymore.
It’s all high speed computerized trading and a crash will cause the bernanke money to evaporate overnight. Maybe that is the plan for the BS bucks.
It may hurt confidence on main street, but it will remove a lot of the hyperinflated money from the streets too. The banks may be planning to steal from those in the 90-99% range, leaving the 1% untouched.

The “electorate” refers to the electoral College, which actually elects the president, not the popular vote. Your vote does not matter in the grand scheme of things. This was done by design, because the average citizen is too stupid and uninformed to be responsible for the political process. All the TV ads are out there simply to generate popular support to make the transition to the new administration (or in keeping the old one) easier. It’s done to keep us from rising up and throwing them out (or hanging them).

I started prepping in the 80’s, I didn’t consider it prepping at the time. Just making sure I had enough “golf clubs and balls” in case the soviets showed up. They never showed. We grew our own instead, so kept putting away things that would come in handy if it all went down.
As to nonpreppers- I consider them potential zombies. They’ll be the unwashed masses that will do whatever it takes to procure what is yours. I try to educate, some listen, most do not. I Know the ones that don’t listen will be the ones I will see in my sight picture someday.

There is soon coming a SHTF calamity that will rock the foundations of the world. We are approaching the countdown “phase”. The pinnacle of the “phase” will take place in September 2015.
Will it be the end of the world as we know it? I can’t say for sure. Most likely we will witness mass death totals before then. I have been studying Bible prophecy, dates and patterns, and linking everything with the world events up to the current. I’ve been doing this for many years.
This is “part” of what I have thus far:
#1. God uses signs in the moon and sun. God uses numerology and numerology linked with the Hebrew language. Gods prophetic word is correct 100% of the time and is 100% on cue if the patterns and dates line up. Having said that, one must consider that God’s timeclock, and our Gregorian and the previous Julian
calanders aren’t always on cue. Adjustments have been made and it is said that; “a designation of years evenly divisible by 4,000 as common (not leap) years, will keep the calendar accurate to within one day in 20,000 years.” The main thing to consider is that “solar” is accurate since the dawn of time, except; when God has changed/stopped the sun from moving on it’s normal routine. Possibly, a day or two difference. But, I’m not predicting an exact day or hour anyway. I’m talking about a 30 day period and the “season”.
#2. The Lunar eclipses when lined up with a Solar eclipse in with the four events are and have been significant to Biblical and modern world events.
These “lunar eclipses” are spoken of in the Bible as “blood red moons”. As the nation/House of Israel is used by God as a sign or marker of turning points in history or as an example to the world in general; we read that the “blood red moons/lunar eclipses” are his way of posting his signature or fingerprints to such big events. Basically letting those that have eyes to see that, He is still on the throne and in control and events only happen by His “timeframe”, not man’s.
Without getting into all the details as I have them in my unfinished book, I’ll start with the year, 1492, set of eclipses and give the event.
In 1492 the Christopher Columbus expedition to discover the New World as a “new homeland” for the Israelite/Jewish peoples that had settled the areas of the western Europe. All the Caucasian peoples of that area originated out of the ten tribes of Israel that had migrated North from the land of Israel. Under persecution, the Jewish/Israelite element in Spain was responsible for the “financing” and further cause of the settling of the “new world” known as America; later to be split as USA and Canada. Religious freedom, as granted by God, was at the “core” of the event. In other words God had his hand on, and in, the whole event. Not a coincidence.
In March of 1949, Israel was accepted as a nation and member by the United Nations. There was a set of four lunar eclipses and a solar eclipse during the 1949 and 1950 years.
In 1967 and 1968 the same set of eclipses took place when Israel defeated it’s enemies against overwhelming odds and regained Jerusalem as it’s capital and more importantly, God given Holy city.
Now get this; Beginning on April 14th, 2014 there will be four Blood red Moons/total Lunar Eclipses, with the second on Oct 8th,2014, the third on April 4th,2015, and the fourth on Sept. 28th, 2015 (Jesus’ true birthday) following celebration of Yom Kippur of that year. A Total Solar Eclipse will take place on March 20th, 2015.
# 3. It has been confirmed many times that God operates in “Sevens”, as the number seven means spiritual completeness and perfection.
On September 11th, 2001; the world was turned up side down by an epic event that was comparable to the dropping of the A bombs on Japan in 1945 where approximately 200,000 + deaths resulted. The 9-11 event was the first “shaking” of America/House of Israel (in God’s eyes). Remember, the House of Judah is restored to the “land/Nation of Israel and the “House” or other “Ten” tribes are “primarily” in western Europe and North America, as the Caucasian/intermixes of people.
# 4. In September 2008, the economies of the world went into a tailspin with the banking/stock market failures. The event happened seven years to the exact month from 9-11. Wall Street saw a 7 % loss with the market losing 777 points in 7 hours. Ummm? Coincidence? This was the 2nd shaking. According to Johnathan Cohn in his book “Harbinger”, the first two “shakings” of America, took place exactly seven years to the day and hours (based on the Hebrew calendar). I believe Hebrew was the original language created by God and used by him.
#5 With the world going crazy for political correctness and coveting of stuff and $$$, we see a decline in the worship and thankfulness to a loving and forgiving Creator. Everyone seems to be living for “self” and thru a sense of “prideful arrogance”. I truly believe the third shaking will coincide with the seven year cycle from September 9th,2001; and will be in direct alignment with the fourth lunar eclipse in September 28th, 2015. Many other signs point to this time frame of which I can’t get into now.
There will be other events between this September 2013, and September 2015. The next “big” event, I see, that will fulfill prophecy, is the destruction of the city of Damascus, Syria to the point that it “never becomes a city again”. I believe this coincides with the wars that kill a third of mankind spoken of in Revelation. Whether the destruction of Damascus happens just prior to, in the middle of, or at the end of this war, I don’t know. But, I do see these two events on the horizon and as a precursor to other prophetic events unfolding.
I put this word out there, not to try and put fear into the believers, but for uplifting and as a warning to get their “house in order”. I see nonbelievers as ignoring any and all signs that put a halt to their self-loving lifestyles. Sad to say, I don’t see any positive change for America, or the world until our Saviour returns. In fact I see some hard and heartbreaking times ahead for the lost. The people that do have means and privilege,
may think they are on top; but, without Jesus, they are living a lie and will suffer the cup of wrath as it will be poured out upon the earth. This generation will see that day of the Lord. Proselytizing, I am not, for everyone has to sail their own ship as i see it. Teaching out of compassion, I am doing. My reward isn’t in this realm or earth age anyway.

What I am predicting, based on markers,signs and past events; is a major shaking of the world by an event or events that has the hand of God on it as a direct warning.
Could it be the end of this age? Yes, but a lot of things must happen between now and April 29th 2015 for that dispensation of time to come about.

Assault rifles in my area are again in stock at high but affordable prices. Ammo is expensive but not unreasonable. There is still shortage of .22, 9mm, and .40 cal but everything else is available. Not sure what the continued talk about the high prices are…. way down from January/February.
In my area, ammo prices aren’t too bad but availability is the real problem. Most stores that carry ammo only get in about 20-30 boxes when they should be getting cases of the stuff. This sells out in less than 2 days, often in only 1. Walmart has good prices on ammo but rarely has any these days. When they do, they have a *1* box per person per day limit.
In the past 5 months, I have been able to find and buy 2 boxes of 225 rounds of .22 ammo and 6 20-round boxes of AK ammo. They have an ammo case that probably holds 500 or more boxes of ammo but there are only about 30 boxes in there and mostly it is deer and elk hunting ammo, like .243, .270, .30-06, and .300 Win Mag. 9mm, .40-cal, .45-cal, .223, 7.62×39, and .357 mag are very scarce.
Thank heaven for gun shows! Ammo can be found there for decent prices. Got 1000 rounds of Tula AK ammo for $289, which is about what the on-line vendors charge once the $40 shipping charge is added. Also got 500 rounds of #4 buck at the show.
Went on-line for 500 rounds of 00 buck. With the exception of .22 ammo, my ammo supply is decent now but it would sure be good to get back to the days when .22 ammo was both cheap and plentiful… if we ever do.
Anyone else remember when places like WalMart and Sportsman’s Warehouse would actually have .22 ammo on sale for $18.99 per 500 round brick? I’ve been kicking myself for not laying in a couple of 50-cal. ammo boxes of it.
in my neck of the woods Owensboro, Ky there is a little known place called 2d amendment firearms and they have American made 223 ammo for 7.99 a 20 rd box just use code word patriot one box per visit and yes you can get up to 4 a day using this. love those guys.

I made the prediction on this site over a year and a half ago, I said, “stock up on ammo and reloading supplies because, in the near future, those same supplies will be worth more than silver, or at least the profits from investing in silver”.
My, how fast things happen. Last Christmas, my brother was one of those I tried to convince about buying up ammo, especially 22 cal. (He shoots regularly). His response was to laugh at me and say that he would always be able to buy cheap 22’s at Walmarket, and besides he was stocked with a 550 ct brick.
Now, seven months later, his brick is about gone, and he hasn’t been able to find the first box at Walmarket.
I laughed at him and said i would sell him some of mine @ triple what i bought it for and that price would still be cheaper than what the Gun Shop sells their cheapest/weakest 22 cal. at. He changed the subject.

Silver Surfer, great point! I bought silver at about $12.00 an ounce the first part of 2009. At the same time I was buying 5,000 round cases of 36 grain .22 hollow point ammo for $200.00 delivered. That same case of ammo goes for $1,000.00 to $1,200.00 now.
I sold my Dad’s silver accumulation in 2006 at $13 an ounce, my sister was squawking about the money. Like an idiot, I sold it all and sent her half the money. Should have kept my half.

It is a deception that is absurd, the real price of stocks when matched to precious metals is in reality the stocks DJIA should be around 8-10 thousand, not above 15. That is why 20% means nothing as this would knock it down to around 12000. This would spread little panic, they would just call it a CORRECTION, and the MSM would convince everyone it was good for stocks. A drop to 7-8 thousand would be more like it to cause real panic and some selling that could continue to 75% drop or more. Helicopter ben smells of tar and needs feathers desperately to his winter coat.

ISRAEL’S GIFT TO AMERICA

The torpedo gunboats were not even close to being done with us. The torpedo gunmen shot at our fire fighters and stretcher bearers, anything that moved. They were shooting at our water line to blow up the boilers inside and finish the job of sinking us.
The captain had given the order to abandon ship, as it appeared we were about to roll over. There were 3 life rafts left that were floatable. We put them over the side so we could put our most severely wounded in them to try to save their lives. The torpedo gunmen would have none of that and blew 2 of them out of the water. Captain Tully of the USS SARATOGA sent ready aircraft to our aid only to have them recalled. The USS AMERICA also sent rescue aircraft to come to our aid. These life saving planes were recalled not once but twice. These orders came straight from the White House, first from Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara and then from President Johnson himself. Johnson said he was not about to attack our “ally”, Israel . How did he know who was attacking our ship when we didn’t even know? Help did not arrive until 18 hours later when the American rescue aircraft could have been there in 15 to 20 minutes driving off the torpedo boats and saving precious American lives.
What remained was a ship with a 40 x 40 foot torpedo hole in her side, 821+ canon and rocket holes, thousands of rounds of fifty caliber armor piercing bullets and napalm that had been burning up our ship. Thirty four American souls were murdered, 173 were wounded, which constituted attempted murder, out of a crew of 294. Two thirds of the crew had been murdered or wounded.
Israel and our government, in this 2 hour attack, had come up with a plan to sink our ship, blame it on Egypt and bring the U.S. into the Six Day War. If this so called accident was so cut and dry, why were all records sealed tighter than Fort Knox ? Israel got by with cold-blooded murder and other war crimes and it’s only a matter of time until they do it again, perhaps on a ship off the coast of Iran . You are correct in every word posted. Some of you old timers around here know that I live and breathe the financial well being of the USA. I can only add one thing to what BI or Marc Faber has stated. When it happens, it will happen quick and it will be devastating.
Not just here in America but throughtout the entire Western world which incidentlty now includes Russia, it’s old satelites and of course China. Wars may break out but will be short in duration as no country will be able to afford it. Famine and sickness will occurr world wide. None but those of us who have prepared will be spared.
It is possible that the NWO will get it’s way and the population of the world will drop to 20% of what it is today. When that happens resources will be considered abundunt and a new chapter for man kind will be started. Although I am not big a Greenie I will say that Earh it self will also get a break.

I agree, BI. As a stock investor, I have followed the US stock market for the past 36 years. This market has all of the earmarks of an artificial market and not a free market. It is being levitated by the Fed printing money and dumping it into the big NY banks. They, in turn, buy UST bonds and stocks. Uncle Ben says that he can’t find more than 1% inflation in this country, so printing a trillion extra dollars every year must be OK. No, it isn’t! He SHOULD know that. Many of us do and we are not hotshot PhD’s from an Ivy League school. None of the metrics by which the market can be measured are anywhere near all time highs, yet the Dow 30 and the S&P 500 are both at or near all time highs. Why is that? Because of all the printed money chasing fewer shares. Stock prices HAVE to go up to absorb all this extra cash. THIS is where the inflation is. This is NOT growth. It IS inflation and it is obvious to those of us who care to look at it objectively. Uncle Ben chooses not to. But he is getting out of Dodge and probably just in the nick of time too.

I am heavy in the stock market. It is all pretax 401K money. What are my options? Where can I put it? If I cash out the taxes would be in the 6 figure range. How about money market?
Taxes in the 6 figures? Wow! Do you own arable land, or a retreat that is stocked and ready? Many of us who are trying to prepare within our means would love to have your predicament. Most of us with 401k’s would have to quit our jobs to cash out.
Why do people think 6 figures is a BIG number when it comes to taxes.
At even a 10% realize rate that means he has only 1 Million in saving IRA.
That is not much to live on in retirement. Do the math at a 5% return. That is not much income to live on.
Hell Many small business write 6 figure quarterly checks to the tax man and still get nailed at the end of the year.
I’m not sure I believe your numbers, but if you are being honest, and sincerely want to pull your money out and put it into tangible wealth, then you need to play the game like the criminal politicians do:
Start a corporation (your corp just happens to raise and sell Emu’s).
Take your money out and claim it as “investment money”. “Invest” it into your new “business”- you know, that Emu farm you always dreamed of owning to make you rich.
As a business, you have multitudes of tax deductible improvements that need to be made on your newly acquired business venture.
Emu’s are pretty good at escaping from fences and cages, so you’ll have to improve your security: Improved fences, gates, outbuildings, infrastructure as needed. Don’t forget the tax write-offs for your new security alarms, cameras, and even some forms of weapons (for defense, of course) to hold back the Emu’s in case they “get out” and go all Jurassic Park on your ass.
Once your “business” is set up, start raising your Emu’s.

Roll it over into a gold and silver IRA, physical metals not paper. Take it out as you can afford the taxes.
Make sure you have physical possession of the metals. Don’t take a certificate from some outfit that says they are holding it for you.

Your options depend on your age. If you are age 55 or better, you can take money from your 401k plan, if your 401k plan allows for distributions. Some do and some don’t. The IRS allows this but does not mandate it. You can also leave your employer, roll your 401k into an IRA, which is a tax-free transfer, and set up what’s called a Substantially Equal Payment Plan (SEPP). It might be possible to set up a SEPP on a 401k plan account but most employers don’t allow this due to the bookkeeping hassles. Under this plan, you can take out money before you are age 59.5, so it can help those who would like to retire early but who are not yet able to collect their SS benefits and cannot otherwise afford to retire. I did this in 2005 and it worked very well.
If you are under age 55 and still employed, you can probably take a loan from your 401k plan but you have to pay this money back from your paycheck. If you are laid off or quit, most 401k plans require that any outstanding loans be repaid, often within a few months.
If you take money from a 401k plan or a traditional IRA early, you can be hit by a 10% early withdrawal penalty tax as well as ordinary income tax at rates up to 39.5%, so basically half of your money could be grabbed by the Gov.
I am retired and taking both early SS benefits and regular distributions from my upper 6 figure IRA. My plan is to take money out of my traditional IRA over time such that I can remain in the 25% tax bracket. This money is then used to buy preps, including physical gold and silver. While this takes time, it is a decent compromise between being stuck in a plan that is subject to government whim and being taxed to death. My thought is that if the balloon goes up before I have all my money out, the gains that I have in gold and silver should more than make up for the loss. If it doesn’t then I will have avoided financial death by taxation and have my money under my control and not theirs.
This is a significant problem and it is one that quite a few people have these days. What you decide is best for your situation will likely be different from that of others whom you know but it is imperative that you have a good plan and that you stick with it.
Check with your company HR person or department. Ask them for a copy of the Summary Plan Document or SPD for your 401k plan. They are required by law to give you this info but are allowed to charge a small fee for copying, printing, etc. Read it carefully and ask your HR person any questions you have on it. It will explain everything that your plan allows, although some of it may be poorly worded and confusing. Knowing what your plan allows will be a big help to you in figuring out your options.
If you are in a position to determine the bank that holds your money, see if you can move to Everbank. They have options for CDs that include more stable currencies.

Heidi is the proprietor of a bar in Detroit. She realizes that virtually all her customers are unemployed alcoholics and, as such, can no longer afford to patronize her bar.
To solve this, she comes up with a new marketing plan that allows her customers to drink now, but pay later. Heidi keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the customers loans). Word gets around about Heidi’s “drink now, pay later” marketing strategy and, as a result, increasing numbers of customers flood into Heidi’s bar. Soon her bar has the largest sales in Detroit.
By providing freedom from immediate payment, Heidi gets no resistance when she regularly increases her prices for wine and beer substantially, the most consumed beverages. Consequently, Heidi’s gross sales increase massively.
A young and dynamic vice-president at the local bank recognizes that these customer debts constitute valuable future assets and increases Heidi’s borrowing limit.. He sees no reason for any undue concern, since he has the debts of the unemployed alcoholics as collateral.
At the bank’s corporate headquarters, expert traders figure a way to make huge commissions, and transform these customer loans into DRINK BONDS. These “securities” then are bundled and traded on international securities markets.

Fortunately though, the bank, the brokerage houses and their respective executives are saved and bailed out by a multi-billion dollar no-strings attached cash infusion from the government.
The funds required for this bailout are obtained by new taxes levied on employed, middle-class, nondrinkers who have never been in Heidi’s bar.

Why doesnt the govt start up a community drinking private partnership scheme whereby the more the alcoholics drink the more subsidies & benefits they recieve ie free bus fare to & from the bar, also free phones in which they can call friends to sign up which means more free drinks for every new alcoholic that joins the scheme. it will create new jobs ie bar staff, extra bus drivers, cops on the street due to increae rowdiness & assessors to evaluate if new applicants meet the criteria to be classified as alcoholic under the benefits scheme. hic

Anti-Communism. . . or Anti-Semitism?
Having informed us earlier that because of “anti-Semitism” the “bulk of Jewish youth” were compelled to join the Bolshevik ranks, the Judaica goes on to inadvertently clarify why the Russian natives were so bent on “anti-Semitic” activities. The article says that movements toward freedom (called “centrifugal nationalist tendencies”) among the nearly enslaved Russian people “inspired the regime to utilize compact, Jewish masses in these areas as a counterweight, which would swing the balance in the centralist regime’s favor.”(pg. 798)
In other words, “the bulk of Jewish youth” in every outlying hamlet of Russia became the “compact Jewish masses” whose task it was to forcibly impose and maintain communist slavery upon freedom-loving peoples. Jews and the Russian populace were locked in a death struggle for survival and the future of Russia. Is it any wonder that the White Russians rose up in rage, even to the point of liquidating their oppressors? Who would not have done the same?
It was at this time that Lenin himself declared capital punishment for any Russian who criticized Jews or identified Jewish leaders with Russian names as Jewish.
Anti-Semitism was branded as being counterrevolutionary in nature, and persons participating in pogroms or instigating them were outlawed (by a special decree issued by the Council of Commissars in July 1918, signed and personally amended by Lenin to sharpen its tone). Report of the American Expeditionary forces to Siberia, March 1, 1919. Captain Montgomery Schyler, speaking of events following the decline of the First Provisional Government, says:
These hopes were frustrated by the gradual gains in power of the more irresponsible and socialistic elements of the population, guided by the Jews and other anti-Russian races. A table made in April 1918 by Robert Wilton, the correspondent of the London Times in Russia, shows that at that time there were 384 “commissars” including 2 Negroes, 13 Russians, 15 Chinamen, 22 Armenians and more than 300 Jews. Of the latter number, 264 had come to Russia from the United States since the downfall of the Imperial government.
Captain Schyler then provides a personal reflection:
It is probably unwise to say this loudly in the United States, but the Bolshevik movement is and has been since its beginning guided and controlled by Russian Jews of the greasiest type, who have been in the United States and there absorbed every one of the worst phases of our civilization without having the least understanding of what we really mean by liberty. 3

There is now definite evidence that Bolshevism is an international movement controlled by Jews; communications are passing between the leaders in America, France, Russia and England, with a view toward concerted action. 6
Extract of Report from the Netherlands Minister at Petrograd on the 6th of September, 1918, forwarded by Sir M. Findlay, at Christiana, to Mr. Balfour:
I consider that the immediate suppression of Bolshevism is the greatest issue now before the world, not even excluding the war that is still raging, and unless, as above stated, Bolshevism is nipped in the bud immediately, it is bound to spread in one form or another over Europe and the whole world, as it is organized and worked by Jews who have no nationality, and whose one object is to destroy for their own ends the existing order of things. 7
Mr. Aleston to Lord Curzon, forwarding Report from Consul at Ekaterinburg of February 6, 1919:

Witnesses further stated that Bolshevik leaders did not represent Russian working classes, most of them being Jews. 8
The Rev. B.S. Lombard to Lord Curzon, March 23, 1919:
have been for ten years in Russia, and have been in Petrograd through the whole of the revolution. . . .I had ample opportunity of studying Bolshevik methods. It originated in German propaganda, and was, and is being, carried out by international Jews. . . .All business became paralyzed, shops were closed, Jews became possessors of most of the business houses, and horrible scenes of starvation became common in country districts. 9
Sir Winston Churchill, writing in the Illustrated Sunday Herald of February 8, 1920 agrees with the previous testimony.
There is no need to exaggerate the part played in the creation of Bolshevism and in the actual bringing about of the Russian Revolution by these international and for the most part atheistical Jews. It is certainly a very great one; it probably outweighs all others. With the notable exception of Lenin, the majority of the leading figures are Jews. Moreover, the principal inspiration and driving power comes from the Jewish leaders.
But to be fair, let the Jews have the last word – words written after millions of “goyim” had already been slaughtered in Russia. Quoting from the American Hebrew of September 8, 1920:
The Bolshevist revolution in Russia was the work of Jewish brains, of Jewish dissatisfaction, of Jewish planning, whose goal is to create a new order in the world. What was performed in so excellent a way in Russia, thanks to Jewish brains, and because of Jewish dissatisfaction, and by Jewish planning, shall also, through the same Jewish mental and physical forces, became a reality all over the world.

This State Department Report was compiled under the Hoover administration and has since disappeared from active circulation. Reproductions of salient passages of it, however, are presented in Elizabeth Dilling’s The Jewish Religion: Its Influence Today.

We had ups and downs with the market and such really won’t effect regular Joe’s since regular Joe’s are and have been already going through for many years with inflation, job loss etc.. Same concept can be applied here. Each day we deal with uncertainties in life…one day up and another day down but the point is there are two type of people I really don’t care about what happens to them with some EXCEPTIONS: Kids —>since they are helpless, Elderly since they truly need to be helped due to age and anyone who is disable and truly need help from the society. Now these two category of people can basically die and go to hell as far as I am concerned: 1- Those who always nag saying the world is ending with a sole purpose of selling a book or some other intent and those who think everyone else must provide for them since themselves are just too fricking lazy or stupid to become a productive member of the society. Many folks may say I am a heartless, fascist, right wing creature but I am not. I am just a normal human who went to college, who worked hard and still working 70 hrs / week to provide for my wife and kid.

I went to visit family, they live 1600 miles away and I hadn’t seen them in 4 years. Even a camping or fishing trip is a vacation, sometimes it’s necessary to take a break. Most of the prepping I do costs very little. There are a few big ticket items I would like to buy, I would like more water filters and a better generator.
Better to go for solar or wind than a generator, if things get dicey fuel will be scarce, unless your generator is deisel the fuel doesnt store well. Especially the new ethanol crap, even with stabil, plus how long can that fuel last if things really go south?
I would aim for enough panels, an inverter and batteries to provide 1500watts at 120v for 4 hours if you needed it, that would run about the same as a real high end Honda genset.
But could potentially provide enough power without any input other than sunlight for basic stuff.

I know some people here do care about sports like me. I noticed keith olberman was just hired by ESPN as an anchor. They are giving him a new show and he’s doing sportscenter. He was a liberal piece of crap on MSNBC. I called and told them I’m going to start watching Fox sports and move my fantasy leagues to yahoo. They obviously have a political agenda with this move. If anyone else cares to call ESPN the number is 1-888-549-3776 I tried to email but it didn’t work.

I have to agree on your interpetations of the “majority” of the people that call themselves Jews, but are of the synagog of Satan. Not all who reside in Israel (the Nation) are of that linage. And if there are many antichrists now upon planet earth, does it not stand to reason that they have a king over them (angel from the Bottomless Pit). Daniel talks about it, about him planting the Tabernacles of his palace between the seas. If this king is the big cheese, is he not in the flesh? Is it the Little Horn?

I started prepping a few years ago, slowly, with extra cash (not much of that either) and have stashed a good year supply of “stuff”. I know “they” have been saying it is going to crash any day now for years, BUT it really is going to crash soon. I don’t think we have a year left. So my question is: How bad will it be? Mad max type of crash, or 30’s type depression? THIS IS IMPORTANT! Any guesses or thoughts???

Certain things I expect to happen are as follows: everyone who refused to listen and failed to prep will die, the system in all aspects will be dead in the water, there will be roving gangs out to take whatever necessities of life they can find from preppers, disease will be rampant, etc. Mad Max is a possible scenario. I’m getting a little desensitized to these prognosticators whose predictions are sometimes vague, and often loaded with conditions. Twenty percent is not a crash…it’s worrisome, and it might bode ill for the future, but it’s not a crash. Talk about hedging your bets “….I see the market closing lower than today. Maybe 20%, maybe more.” What is that? Heck, I can do that. Prediction: I see the economy going downward, and a collapse will come later this year, or next year, or before the end of the decade.
I predict the price of beer is going up!
I heard about this guy that, for the apocalypse, is stashing away crates of single-malt scotch – he believes that scotch will become a commodity in the same league with gold. He may be right….of course, it might become too much of a commodity – someone might stab him over a bottle of booze!

Keep getting those #10 cans. I feel like I have two years worth of a variety of food stored up, all with a tremendous long shelf life.
Just look at what happened to the market when Bernanke even hinted at pulling back a few weeks ago. The market dropped 300 points. What will happen when they actually quit buying those bonds ? How about the interest rates what will happen when those start to climb ? I was able to get out of the last two major market drops just in time. Didn’t lose a cent. I personally would not have any money in equities / stocks or bonds right now, too risky between now and the same time next year. If the market doesn’t have a major correction and I mean major (50%) by March of next year I will be investing in other tangibles.
Saw financial professionals on fox business today saying major correction by winter. Host was saying market looked great, the guest told her the party would be over soon, though not in those exact words. Her response was ‘ let’s just tell the fed to not talk anymore.” Idiots.

Hello all I have just recently gotten into prepping and I would like any helpful tips that anyone has. Also I would like to know if anyone has any ideas how I can get my family to see the logic in prepping.
Presuming limited funds, so in your shoes, get some canned food to put in your room, in the closet. Mom will find it and ask what is that for? There is your opportunity to start the conversation. If you have family meetings, ask the question, what do we do if….major storm, no gas, no heat, internet down, that kind of thing. Let them think about it themselves.
I’ve gotten a lot of good preps at yard and estate sales. Started out when your age just getting tools, I knew I would need them as life went on. Then kitchen stuff when I moved out and needed more than a pot and spoon. Good winter clothing would be a good focus, as well as tools and things you know you will need in the future. Hiking and camping gear, such as stoves and packs.
Guns and ammo? If your folks have some in the house, you’re good to go. If not, you probably won’t get to have one of your own.
I’m working on getting more 1920s-1950s era kitchen tools. I have a good egg beater, potato masher, perk-type coffee pot, flour sifter, bread board and a zinc ice-box. I’ve had to go to estate sales and rummage sales because these items are becoming very expensive at antique stores. I’ve also bought every old sheet I can find at estate sales for use as bandages, or if they’re pretty, for material for shirts and dresses. I assume that with the food we’ve stored, our grandchildren will keep growing and will require new clothing. Speaking of which, I caught a huge sale at JC Penney and bought about ten years worth of underwear for my husband as well as summer and winter socks and gloves. This sale wasn’t as good as the sale last summer, so I assume wool and cotton are rising???

I agree with smokey….I started by couponing, to find free or near free deals to stockpile. My husband dint think much of it. Then before hurricane Irene, it told him we needed extra water, etc. his comment was that the storm would hit New Jersey. I pointed out that was the center of the storm, and that the storm was 700 miles wide. A lot of our state was without power, but we were ok. Then the freak snowstorm that oct 29th. We were without power a week, but we had the genny we bought for Irene. But the real humdinger was the blizzard this past winter. He was excited we didn’t have to worry about shopping for anything. I’ve eased him into it gradually. Now we have chickens and HIS goal is self sufficiency! It takes time, good luck!

TOOLS/MISC. – Axe, hammer, non-hybrid garden seeds, hoe, garden tools, duct tape, lighters, matches, lamp and lamp oil, Swiss army knife, sewing kit, clothes line, clothes pins, clothes drying rack, manual wheat grinder, guns, ammo, gold, silver, and a good food storage and survival handbook.
Buy extra of the above items when you shop. Can or bottle fruit and vegetables from your gardens and orchards. Learn how to preserve food through drying and possibly freezing. Make your storage a part of your budget. Store non-hybrid garden seeds and have sufficient tools on hand to do the job.
*If there is an emergency situation, you may have to live on your stored food. If are unable to get fresh fruit or vegetables, you will need the “natural plant enzymes” that aid in digestion. Sprouts will provide your body with these needed enzymes. Raw sprouts are an excellent source of nutrition and can be grown in 3-4 days.

really twenty percent will get attention but not the collapse most people that visit here are looking for. Im busy preparing the best i can with what i have. I am not in a hurry for the big one but do not try to pick dates either. In my oppinion for what it is worth, i think we are in it now. But i think we will see events before the year end to help get it going so to speak. I think that the decision makers have a very clear plan. Even the most informed trend forecasters will not know the dates of events. Only God knows the dates,but that being said we are to be awake and vigilant. If we do that and keep our hearts right with God we will have all the warning we need as long as we listen. But be rest assured these things must and will all come to pass. Just about 20 minutes ago, 8:10pm, PST, the horizon lit up a shiny, weird orange color. The entire atmosphere was a bright orange. There was a thunder/lightning storm, without much rain, preceding it by a few minutes. I understand it was an astrological phenomenon.

I’m about an hour SE of Portland Oregon, Vicky. I posted the comment because, whatever it was, it only lasted for a few minutes. It was bright enough that I went to look out the window because I thought someone had turned one of those huge pole light setups (that they use in night construction) outside my house. The entire sky was lit up, not just the horizon (what I could see of it past buildings and trees).
I found some info about a meteor/comet that was supposed to be really close to us on Aug 10th, so I was naturally wondering if it was that which lit up the sky at dusk.
I am east of the cascades. I viewed a reddish/orange sunset from here. I thought it was from the forest fires.

Trench Beans
1 lb. dry pinto beans, cooked
1 tbsp. seasoned salt
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. A-1 Steak Sauce
1/8 tsp. Tabasco
1 tsp. lemon pepper
1 tsp. onion powder
Soak and cook beans. When tender, add seasonings and simmer an additional 30 minutes.
Battalion Baked Beans
1 large can pork and beans
1/2 cup tomato catsup
6 small onions (or 1 jar small onions)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. molasses
1 tsp. dry prepared mustard
bacon strips
Combine all ingredients except bacon and spoon into a casserole dish. Cover with strips of bacon. Bake at 300 degrees to 350 degrees for 1 hour or until the bacon is done and the beans are bubbly.
Secession Baked Beans
2 cans pork and beans (or 3 cups cooked dry beans)
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 cup tomato sauce (3/4 cup if more liquid is needed)
1 medium onion, sliced into rings
1/2 tsp. dry prepared mustard
1/4 tsp. salt (or more to taste)
dash of pepper
3 strips of bacon, cut in half (optional)
Combine everything except bacon. Pour into 1-1/2 quart casserole dish. If you use bacon, arrange on top of the bean mixture. Bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours or 375 degrees for 1 hour.
Bean-Rice Casserole
3 cups water
1 cup uncooked rice
1/2 cup quick-cooking black beans (see previous section for instructions on preparing quick-cooking beans or substitute cooked dried beans or a can of cooked beans)
1 tbsp. instant beef bouillon
3 tbsp. margarine
1/2 cup chopped dried apricots
1/2 cup chopped dried pineapple
Put all ingredients in a frying pan and mix. Cover and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes. Don’t stir while it’s cooking because that will make the rice gummy. When the water has been absorbed, test rice for doneness. If it’s still a little chewy, add a little more water and cook a few minutes more.

1/4 lb. bacon
3/4 cup chopped onions
2 cups cooked rice
2 cups canned tomatoes (or reconstituted dried tomatoes)
1/2 tsp. salt

Cook bacon, remove from pan and crumble. Cook onions in bacon fat until tender. Add rice, tomatoes, seasonings and crumbled bacon. Cook on low heat about 35 minutes, stirring well. Stir with fork several times while cooking. Check after 15 minutes and add water if needed.
Hopping John
2 cups cooked black-eyed peas
2 cups cooked rice
1 chopped onion (optional)
2 tbsp. butter
dash salt, pepper and hot sauce
Blend and heat slowly about 30 minutes.
Hopping John Soup
1 cup dry black-eyed peas (“southern caviar”)
8 cups water
6 slices bacon
3/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup regular rice
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Rinse black-eyed peas. In a large saucepan add the peas and water, bring to a boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand 1 hour. Drain, setting aside 6 cups of the cooking liquid. In heavy saucepan, cook the bacon, onion and garlic until the bacon is crisp and the onion is tender but not brown. Remove the bacon, drain on paper towels: crumble and set aside. Stir the black-eyed peas, raw rice, salt, pepper and reserved cooking liquid into mixture in saucepan. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Stir in crumbled bacon and it’s ready to serve eight regular folks or two good ol’ boys.

When you soak your beans, add a tablespoon or two of baking soda. Change the water a couple of times. Your beans will not be so “gassy”.
I do this to decrease cooking time..and this will be important for long term stored beans. 🙂
An excellent suggestion. Beans, in one form or another, are often biweekly fare around here. And I mean “the main dish”, usually with cornbread or biscuits as a side.

Blackberry preserves
10 cups blackberries
3 cups sugar
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
In a non reactive bowl, toss together blackberries and sugar. Let stand 8hrs at room temp or refrig overnight
Have ready hot sterilized jars and lids
Place a sieve or colander over large on reactive saucepan. Pour blackberry mixture into the sieve to drain. Remove sieve with berries and set aside. Bring sugar syrup to a boil over med heat. Add the lemon juice. Mixture will foam up. Reduce heat as necessary to prevent boiling over. Cook syrup until reduced by half (5-10 min). Gently stir in blackberries to heat through , about 2 minutes.
Ladle preserves into hot jars with 1/4 in headspace. Remove air bubbles and adjust headspace if necessary. Wipe rims clean and seal tightly with lids.
Process jars for 10 mins in boiling water bath.

Whole Wheat Biscuit Mix for Dumplings
1 cup white flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening or oil
1/4 cup powdered milk
Combine at home and store in a zip-lock bag or Nalgene bottle. In camp, add 3 tablespoons water per 1/2 cup biscuit mix and mix well. Spoon into boiling stew or soup. Simmer 10 minutes uncovered and 10 minutes covered.
Cornmeal Dumplings
1 cup cornmeal
1/4 tsp. black pepper
ham stock
Mix cornmeal and pepper. While ham stock is boiling, pour some over meal mixture and stir into dough. Make stiff enough to form balls the size of an egg and drop in briskly boiling stock. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.
Dumplings
4 cups flour
1/3 cup lard or other shortening
1-1/2 to 2 cups water
Mix together flour and lard. Add water and mix thoroughly. Toss dough on a floured surface until coated with flour. Divide into 4 balls and roll dough out 1 ball at a time to about 1/4-inch or thinner. Cut in strips and cut strips into 2-inch pieces. Add a few pieces at a time to boiling broth. Cook uncovered, making sure that each dumpling is under the liquid part of the time. cook about 5 to 10 minutes. Makes 4 to 5 large servings. (Note: If using self rising flour, make sure to use hot water so dough will rise before cooking.)
Beef Stew with Dumplings
1-1/2 pounds rump roast
1/4 cup flour
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 small onion
1/3 cup cubed carrots
1/3 cup cubed turnips
4 cups potatoes, quartered
Wipe meat off, remove from the bone, cut in 1-1/2 inch cubes. Mix flour with salt and pepper and cover meat with mixture. Heat some fat from meat in a frying pan. Add meat and brown. Put meat with browned fat in stew kettle, add boiling water to cover. Simmer until tender, about 3 hours. Add carrots and turnips for last hour of cooking. Add potatoes 20 minutes and dumplings 15 minutes before serving. Use one of the dumpling recipes above.
Chicken and Dumplings
1 stewing hen
3 cups flour
1 egg
1 heaping tablespoon shortening
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup cold water
Cut chicken for stewing. Barely cover with water and cook until tender for about 2 to 3 hours. Remove chicken from stock and remove bones. Put flour in mixing bowl. In center of flour put egg, shortening and salt. Gradually add cold water. Work plenty of flour into dough. Roll thin and cut in 2×3-inch strips. When dumplings are added to broth, lower heat and simmer about 12 to 15 minutes. Place the chicken back in the stew. A little butter may be added if chicken is lacking in fat.
Chicken Pot Pie
3 to 4 cups cooked chopped chicken
1 16-ounce can mixed vegetables, drained
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup self-rising flour (if using ordinary flour, add 1 tsp. baking powder and 1/2 tsp. salt)
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup milk
1/2 stick (1/4 cup) margarine, melted
Place chicken in a large casserole dish and add vegetables, soup and broth. Mix together, in a separate bowl, the next 4 ingredients for the topping. Pour the topping mixture over the chicken. Bake at 425 degrees for about 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

Not to large and not to small, around 7,000 Pop. 24 miles from Riverton Wy. which is around 10,000 has a Wal Mart and anything you might need. Lander is right on the edge of the mountains, good hunting and fishing. I get into both but I live in neither town. Moved to Wy. about 4 years ago, and I love it. Nuff Said. Trekker Out.

In case of a long-term survival situation, the following bread and biscuit recipes don’t require eggs or yeast and can be prepared with foodstuffs which will keep on a pantry shelf without refrigeration (except whole wheat flour which you should grind as needed):
South Boston Brown Bread
1 cup rye flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 tbsp. plain white flour
2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup raisins
2 cups buttermilk or sour milk (to sour milk, put 2 tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar in a pint container, add milk to make 2 cups, stir and let sit a few minutes until clabbered)
3/4 cup molasses
Sift dry ingredients together. Add raisins. Stir. Mix buttermilk with molasses and pour into dry mixture. Blend well and pour into greased 9×5-inch loaf pan (do not use 8×4-inch pan unless you enjoy cleaning your oven). Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.
Old-Fashioned Brown Bread
2 cups graham or whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup dark molasses
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup low-fat milk
Mix graham flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt in a medium size bowl. In a large bowl, combine molasses, buttermilk and low-fat milk; stir until blended. Add flour mixture to milk mixture; stir until well blended. Pour batter into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan. Bake at 325 degrees until bread begins to pull away from sides of pan and a skewer inserted in center comes out clean (1 to 1-1/4 hours). Let cool in pan on a rack for 10 minutes, then turn out onto rack and let cool completely.
Master Biscuit Mix
4 cups whole wheat flour
4 cups unbleached or all-purpose flour
1/3 cup baking powder
1 tbsp. salt
Mix all ingredients (store in refrigerator or freezer for later use, if desired). To prepare, take 1-1/2 cups of master biscuit mix and add 3/4 cup milk and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Mix. With a large spoon, drop mounds of batter on baking sheet or cast iron skillet. Bake at 425 degrees for about 15 minutes or until the tops are brown.
Cabin Buttermilk Biscuits
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup buttermilk (about)
2 tbsp. lard or shortening
Sift dry ingredients together and blend with lard or shortening. Add buttermilk, about one cup to make soft dough. Roll on a floured board until 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick and cut with drinking glass or biscuit cutter. Place on baking sheet and bake in 350 degrees oven about 10 minutes or until brown.
Mammy’s Baking Powder Biscuits
2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 cup milk
Sift dry ingredients together. Work in shortening with fingertips. Add milk slowly, stirring the batter until smooth. Roll on a floured board until 1/2-inch thick and cut. Place on a baking sheet and bake in a hot (450 degrees) oven for 15 minutes.
Rebel Yell Whole Wheat Biscuits
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups unbleached or plain white flour
1-1/2 tsp. salt
8 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1-1/2 cups milk (or more)
Mix dry ingredients. Combine oil and milk. Stir the liquid into the dry mixture quickly. On greased baking sheets, make mounds of dough using a large spoon, leaving enough space to allow for expansion. Bake at 425 degrees for about 12 minutes.

Gangsters on Wall Street, very nice clothes,
they pulled a gun, of paper they sewed,
what once was good, has been conceived,
no more justice, have been deceived.
Millions of documents, to the sky,
has killed America, please don’t sigh,
you may argue, but you don’t know,
we are dying, in paper snow.
Paper snow, has built the shame,
of a once great land, that went insane,
millions of jobs, and factories abound,
the great sucking sound, of crashing down.
We were an empire, a once great land,
we stole the wealth, out of everyones sand,
who decided, who gets the shame,
where did it go, and who takes the blame.
Gangsters, banksters, same old thing,
they took it all, they delivered the Sting,
prosperity, was claimed for all,
went out the door, and we do fall.
Congress shrugged, stuck out their hands,
NAFTA was easy, the people be damned,
move it out, we all fall down,
cheaper things, in the country be found.
The people were dumb, and they were fooled,
ideology of evil, was the tool,
the people do fight, and the people do howl,
how could this thing, happen, so foul?
Its simple I tell you, all day long,
the rich want it all, and for a song,
inflation comes, and makes you rich,
deflation follows, you’re in the ditch.
Wealth does come, out of the ground,
it makes a big old happy sound,
Rich sneaks up, and sticks a knife,
in the back of the nation, filled with strife.
The wealthy build, and the rich tear down,
please see the difference, don’t wear a frown,
you did listen, to their guff,
as they take it all, you’re in a huff.
Cents on the dollar, they buy your lands,
as you sit, upon your hands,
you do nothing, you sit and cry,
as they take it all, in a rage you’ll fly.
Now money is funny, it works like this,
paper is cheap, and the more of it,
the higher things go, the less that you gits,
the rich get richer, and the poor have fits.
The Government, does love the high,
of buying your votes, with paper pies,
the poor don’t care, just give me mine,
the good give up, they just don’t try.
Gangsters lie, and banksters cheat,
Gold man puts, a country to sleep,
the country dies, and they do tweat,
Sachs of doo, they have it sweet.
Now debts do mount, up to the sky,
and we all sit, and just get high,
movies or tv, it makes no dif,
keep heads in the sand, don’t make a tif.
So the GMan buys, all the paper snow,
and puts it in a closet you know,
the rich men profit, but we don’t hold,
the GMan says, the poor pays the toll.
But Gman was bought, a long time ago,
when money went bad, on the Feds big throne,
welfare and warfare, markets go bad,
as good men see, and just get sad.
Sadness won’t fix, what’s broken friend,
nor violence either, the country will bend,
a much greater monster, will come to try,
of a GMan in terror, your people to die.
Good men are asking, all over the land,
as they do vanish, it is at hand,
we have arrived, oh where do we stand,
Atlas Shrugged, is here, at hand.
The question is, what can be saved,
to go insane, or leave these knaves,
what can we do, to make it halt,
just ask the question, “Who is John Galt?”

Fishing report,
Three of us fished my boat out of Depoe Bay Oregon. Got up at 2 am left the house by 2:30 and arrived at the port by 5:30. Picked up one crew guy on the way. We left port in heavy fog, running on instruments and ran north about 6 mile to set crab traps then a NW course to the tuna grounds. The seas were a little mixed, sometimes a NW swell and sometimes a west swell, sometimes 6′, sometimes 4′, sometimes both at once coming from different directions. The farther out we got the better the conditions got. We ended up about 42 miles out and were still short of where we needed to be but 42 miles out is the limit of my boats safe fuel range. We fished a temperature break and scratched out a few albacore tuna. We started to work our way back in a fish where ever we say some sign. We ended the day with a dozen tuna and a half dozen crab.
One of the crew was a cherry, he had never been tuna fishing or off shore fishing. He asked what does the bite look like. I told him their finicky biters and that the rod tip will just slightly move. We’re trolling 8 inch long plugs at 8 mph and the rod tips are pulsating and he’s looking at all 8 rods at the same time trying to see the light tap of a tuna. When the first tuna hit and bent the rod over and the reel started to scream my deck boss yells at me that we snagged up a log and I tell the cherry to reel it up. It didn’t take long for him to figure out it wasn’t a log. After the second hook up with a bent rod and screaming reel, he stopped watching the rod tips. We caught some tuna on light tackle and let him fight them in. It was a good day for him but nothing great for the boat.
Got back home about midnight and this morning I’m planning my next trip out.
