Could Collapse At Anytime: “When It Ends, All Hell Is Going To Break Loose”

The following article has been generously contributed by Michael Snyder, founder of The Economic Collapse Blog and author of The Beginning of the End.

Editor’s Note: Back in 2008 we got a taste of what a massive economic and financial crash looks like. Millions of jobs were lost, tens of millions of people became dependent on government assistance, and trillions of dollars in wealth were wiped out almost overnight.

It happens fast and it often comes without any warning to the general public. In 2008 they were able restore some confidence in the system through massive infusions of cash and a healthy dose of mainstream propaganda. But nearly seven years on, as Michael Snyder points out in his analysis below, the system is now more dependent on big banking cartels and centralized government than ever before. And, because the underlying issues behind the crash of 2008 have never been resolved – things like massive debt and leverage, for example – we now sit on the brink of a disaster so large that it literally threatens the stability of the entire planet. One misstep here and we’re not just looking at a stock market crash or more job losses, but a shift in the world order. And given what we’ve seen throughout history from the elite decision makers in our society, we should fully expect that the worst is coming.

    sun-setting

Most People Cannot Even Imagine That An Economic Collapse Is Coming
Michael Snyder | The Economic Collapse Blog

confusionThe idea that the United States is on the brink of a horrifying economic crash is absolutely inconceivable to most Americans.  After all, the economy has been relatively stable for quite a few years and the stock market continues to surge to new heights.  On Friday, the Dow and the S&P 500 both closed at brand new all-time record highs.  For the year, the S&P 500 is now up 9 percent and the Nasdaq is now up close to 11 percent.  And American consumers are getting ready to spend more than 600 billion dollars this Christmas season.  That is an amount of money that is larger than the entire economy of Sweden.  So how in the world can anyone be talking about economic collapse?  Yes, many will concede, we had a few bumps in the road back in 2008 but things have pretty much gotten back to normal since then.  Why be concerned about economic collapse when there is so much stability all around us?

Unfortunately, this brief period of stability that we have been enjoying is just an illusion.

The fundamental problems that caused the financial crisis of 2008 have not been fixed.  In fact, most of our long-term economic problems have gotten even worse.

But most Americans have such short attention spans these days.  In a world where we are accustomed to getting everything instantly, news cycles only last for 48 hours and 2008 might as well be an eternity ago.

In the United States today, our entire economic system is based on debt.

Without debt, very little economic activity happens.  We need mortgages to buy our homes, we need auto loans to buy our vehicles and we need our credit cards to do our shopping during the holiday season.

So where does all of that debt come from?

    It comes from the banks.

In particular, the “too big to fail banks” are the heart of this debt-based system.

Do you have a mortgage, an auto loan or a credit card from one of these “too big to fail” institutions?  A very large percentage of the people that will read this article do.

And a lot of people might not like to hear this, but without those banks we essentially do not have an economy.

When Lehman Brothers collapsed in 2008, it almost resulted in the meltdown of our entire system.  The stock market collapsed and we experienced an absolutely wicked credit crunch.

Unfortunately, that was just a small preview of what is coming.

Even though a few prominent “experts” such as New York Times columnist Paul Krugman have declared that the “too big to fail” problem is “over”, the truth is that it is now a bigger crisis than ever before.

Compared to five years ago, the four largest banks in the country are now almost 40 percent larger.  The following numbers come from a recent article in the Los Angeles Times

Just before the financial crisis hit, Wells Fargo & Co. had $609 billion in assets. Now it has $1.4 trillion. Bank of America Corp. had $1.7 trillion in assets. That’s up to $2.1 trillion.

And the assets of JPMorgan Chase & Co., the nation’s biggest bank, have ballooned to $2.4 trillion from $1.8 trillion.

At the same time that those banks have been getting bigger, 1,400 smaller banks have completely disappeared from the banking industry.

That means that we are now more dependent on these gigantic banks than ever.

At this point, the five largest banks account for 42 percent of all loans in the United States, and the six largest banks account for 67 percent of all assets in our financial system.

If someone came along and zapped those banks out of existence, our economy would totally collapse overnight.

So the health of this handful of immensely powerful banking institutions is absolutely critical to our economy.

Unfortunately, these banks have become deeply addicted to gambling.

Have you ever known people that allowed their lives to be destroyed by addictions that they could never shake?

Well, that is what is happening to these banks.  They have transformed Wall Street into the largest casino in the history of the world.  Most of the time, their bets pay off and they make lots of money.

But as we saw back in 2008, when they miscalculate things can fall apart very rapidly.

The bets that I am most concerned about are known as “derivatives“.  In essence, they are bets about what will or will not happen in the future.  The big banks use very sophisticated algorithms that are supposed to help them be on the winning side of these bets the vast majority of the time, but these algorithms are not perfect.  The reason these algorithms are not perfect is because they are based on assumptions, and those assumptions come from people.  They might be really smart people, but they are still just people.

If things stay fairly stable like they have the past few years, the algorithms tend to work very well.

But if there is a “black swan event” such as a major stock market crash, a collapse of European or Asian banks, a historic shift in interest rates, an Ebola pandemic, a horrific natural disaster or a massive EMP blast is unleashed by the sun, everything can be suddenly thrown out of balance.

Acrobat Nik Wallenda has been making headlines all over the world for crossing vast distances on a high-wire without a safety net.  Well, that is essentially what our “too big to fail” banks are doing every single day.  With each passing year, these banks have become even more reckless, and so far there have not been any serious consequences.

But without a doubt, someday there will be.

What would you say about a bookie that took $200,000 in bets but that only had $10,000 to cover those bets?

You would certainly call that bookie a fool.

But that is what our big banks are doing.

Right now, JPMorgan Chase has more than 67 trillion dollars in exposure to derivatives but it only has 2.5 trillion dollars in assets.

Right now, Citibank has nearly 60 trillion dollars in exposure to derivatives but it only has 1.9 trillion dollars in assets.

Right now, Goldman Sachs has more than 54 trillion dollars in exposure to derivatives but it has less than a trillion dollars in assets.

Right now, Bank of America has more than 54 trillion dollars in exposure to derivatives but it only has 2.2 trillion dollars in assets.

Right now, Morgan Stanley has more than 44 trillion dollars in exposure to derivatives but it has less than a trillion dollars in assets.

Most people have absolutely no idea how incredibly vulnerable our financial system really is.

The truth is that these “too big to fail” banks could collapse at any time.

And when they fail, our economy will fail too.

So let us hope and pray that this brief period of false stability lasts for as long as possible.

Because when it ends, all hell is going to break loose.

      1. To all the GREAT posters here at the ‘Plan’:
I met up with another poster here, Swinging Richard, and we went to see the Georgia Guidestones. I had not been there since 1987. Swinging is a cool guy, being a fellow prepper, we had many things to talk about. Afterwards we went to eat Mexican food, then had a few beers and watched GA Bulldogs get beat up by Fla.
We stayed at the ‘stones’ for about an hour, had six cars pull up in that timeframe. One person was about to film a documentary on the stones, for the Elberton Chamber of Commerce. He had done the same thing in 1980, when it was not such a big deal. We filled him in on some of the history, and told him of the website. He said he would check it out, and was an interesting fellow. We met another couple who knew tons of info about Georgia known and unknown history. Another very interesting couple to talk to.
We asked everyone what they thought of the stones and got opinions from evil to strange to so what?
The one question still stands: Why would anyone invest 50k (the price of a nice house in 1980) into a bunch of granite monoliths in the middle of nowheresville?
I sent a couple if pictures to Mac, if he feels like it, he can post the one of me at the English stone.
It did not feel as eerie as it did in 87’ since we see which way this could all transpire.

I emailed a few friends the pics and here is a response from my adopted 3rd mom…

Mike, I’ve been to the Guidestones. Just three miles from there is my great grandfather’s plantation and on it is a large stone marker, put there hundreds of years ago by the Indians, designating it as “the center of the world”. In the long ago past, several Indian tribes met there once a year to trade and celebrate. I have often wondered about the Guidestones being placed so close to what the Indians thought was a magical and spiritual spot.

Looking forward to seeing you on the 23rd.

        Hugs and giggles,
        Annie

        Y’all have a great evening….

        • Off Topic…

Unfortunately, I fear we will see more cases of Ebola here in the U.S.

As the cost of health insurance continues to rise, more businesses will stop providing it to employees. The grand plan is to “push” more folks to purchase Obamacare.

I wouldn’t count on Obamacare covering treatment for Ebola. Obamacare plans already LIMIT providers to a SMALL number of doctors and medical facilities and further limit what medications will be covered.

The cost of treatment for (Ebola patient) Thomas Eric Duncan has been estimated at $100,000 … PER HOUR.

Hmmm…where will Americans who have contracted Ebola go to get care?

Is this Ebola outbreak much more of a potential threat than they are telling us?

Many insurance companies “are now specifically EXCLUDING Ebola from their policies…”

“U.S. and British insurance companies have begun writing Ebola exclusions into standard policies to cover hospitals, event organizers, and other businesses vulnerable to local disruptions.

“Renewals will also become costlier for companies opting to insure business travel to West Africa or to cover the risk of losses from quarantine shutdowns at home.”

          • KY Mom, thanks for those updates on Obamacare. My company currently has me and the rest of our management personnel under BlueCross/BlueShield, but if I lose that coverage, I WILL NOT GET OBAMACARE REGARDLESS OF WHAT HAPPENS. I’m not surprised that insurance won’t be covering ebola. I can see clearly where that is going.

            • All hell has broken loose,
it just hasn’t touched everyone yet.

              • When u talk to the irs or student finances just say “debt is good”. Not very Christian though. BTW, I’m writing in Jesus Christ and firing every judge.

              • I agree Outwest, for most people the collapse has already happened.

            • 215,000 Doctors (1 in 4 Nationally, 70% in California) Refuse Obamacare Patients Over Payment Issues

“It’s not just patient sentiment against Obamacare that has soured lately. A stunning 215,000 doctors (and rising) refuse to accept Obamacare patients.”

“Gary Franchi ended the above video with this thought: “It seems the biggest lie Obama told was calling his wide sweeping healthcare law − affordable.”

            • Renegade,

I hope you and the rest of the SHTFPlan “family” read this!! If you get turfed off your healthcare, you can go on HealthShare plans, from companies like Liberty HealthShare, Samaritan Healthsare, Christian Healthshare, etc. My wife and I, in our late 50s, just went on one of these (Liberty) this summer, and they are EXCELLENT! $300 buck/mo. for both of us. Slightly higher deductible than before, but definitely do-able. And after signing on, I had a serious bike accident, and they were EXCELLENT.

Just google the names. They keep costs down by making sure they don’t take smokers, drug users, heavy drinkers, etc. We have been VERY pleased.

              • Test, thanks for the tip. I’ll keep it in mind, but NO WAY will I get Obamacare.

          • We love you KY Mom. Keep up the good work!

              • @wwti
at a fella who bought manwich as a source of protein (less then one gram per can) I would expect no less advice.
don’t sell your pm’s, they will be unattainable soon enough.
as for your list to buy, I would say good list.

                • Db427. Funny you mentioned Manwich. I thought it was canned Bbq beef as reflected in the photo on the can. I opened up one can and heated it up and besides no beef in it there was not much else either besides the sauce tasted nasty. Yesterday I returned the other 19 cans back to the grocery store for a full refund. So don’t buy Manwich. I instead bought 10 packs of tuna in the pouch for $10 bucks.

              • WhoWuddaThunkIt,

*Olive oil – can be used for cooking and for lighting

              • A bag of pool shock for about 7 bucks will make hundreds of gallons of bleach, which will in turn make untold thousands of gallons of purified water. A few bags of coffee filters for large impurities and you can supply a community with drinkable water..

          • Bombshell: scientist finds no reliable evidence Ebola virus ever isolated from a human being

“When public-health officials and governments claim there is an epidemic, the burden of proof is on them.

At this point, they must, first and foremost, show someone, somewhere, correctly and directly and undeniably isolated Ebola virus from a human being.

            Let’s see the evidence. Now.”

            • All those Thumbs Down and not a single link to a shred of evidence. Funny that. The “Just Trust Us” brigade?

              • how is our blind trust any different from yours?

                • Helot, did you run tests in a lab under controlled conditions or did you blindly accept the results reported by someone else?

                  • That’s just it, “Anonymous” no one has provided Any evidence that a comprehensive test has been done.

If you’d spend just a bit more time reading about the tests and looking at the facts, rather than mindlessly and unproductively attacking the messenger, you’d know that.

            • Regarding the man who “found no reliable evidence Ebola virus ever isolated from a human”

So, is he saying there have been NO CASES of Ebola at all?

Searches on the internet reveal that David William Rasnick is a chemist and biologist known for his work in the area of HIV/AIDS denial.

              • Helot, it sounds like you bought a “bill of goods.”

                • BTW, braveheart finds no evidence that helot has any intelligence.

                • I did?
                  Ha! You’re funny.

              • Two threads you really really need to read:

                #Ebolagate and #Vaccinegate

Unless of course you enjoy being bamboozled.

            • It’s kind of ironic that even here the truth gets hidden.
Let – No One – see the Facts and just bury your heads in the sand and pretend your overlords never lie.

            • Helot, instead of recommending the inaccurate books you read to us , let us suggest that you find books written by more credible sources.

              • Where are the inaccuracies, Number 7, er I mean, Anonymous?
Who are your “more credible sources”? The CDC?

                I get it.
It seems that quite a few people refuse to read, refuse to think, and only want to believe in “Authoratee”. Facts be damned, full speed ahead!

                • No Helot you do not seem to get it. Your source does not get it either. Any person denying the existence of the HIV and ebola viruses does not deserve much attention. And you , in a pitiful attempt to pass yourself off as pseudo intellectual, cite reference materials that are inaccurate.

                  • And the crowd yelled: “Facts be damned, full speed ahead!”

          • Hold your nose and VOTE REPUBLICAN.

Maybe (1 in 10000 chance) this Obamacare thing will go away. I doubt it, but eh? It’s better than 0 odds.

Besides which, since there is effectively no other difference between the parties… why the hell not.

            • We’re not voting because we will not legitimize the corrupt system. If everyone would stay home maybe the sheeple could begin to have their country returned to the people through real change. I know but one can dream can’t they.

              www youtube.com/watch?v=FcvkQ81KN4g

              • Even if nobody voted, some counties would still have a 110% turnout.

                • reposted in an attempt to keep in order to avoid the expected confusion.

              • @ maddog : You know not voting will not change a thing. If you truly don’t want to vote the lesser of two evils, than vote for the true conservative independant. Don’t waste your vote by not voting. That only helps TPTB.

                • I’m sure this will bring the down thumbers but I no longer give a fuck about red diaper doper babies, I mean red thumbs. It does not matter who is elected nothing will change and after 40 years of faithfully doing my duty it is now obvious to me that only returning to God and re-instating moral values will solve our countries ills.

                  • @ maddog : I almost agree. Like I said earlier, if you truly feel that way, their are other choices out there. Their is uasually, non main stream candidates on the ballot. If you do your homework, their is almost always somebody that has the same views as yourself. Most people choose to not vote that way, because they would rather vote the lesser of two evils. If we all voted for the right and righteous candidate just one time, we could actually change the way things are going. Instead, we just give up and don’t vote or vote the lesser of two evils. Don’t give in to TPTB. If nothing else, you will have the right to BITCH when it is all over. If you don’t vote, You don’t have that right.

                • Obama isn’t comfronting Ebola, the economy, Isis, Iraq, Syria etc because he wants to ruin the U.S. wants as many people to die as possible.

              • This post is hidden due to low rating, yet if you move your mousy two posts down I say the exact same thing and receive a super majority of green thumbs. Sure proves the education system has succeeded in removing all critical thinking from the sheeple. Good night and adios.

            • You know it is getting bad in America when you go into the voting booth and vote for “Who will do the least amount damage to us.”

              • In our state (NV) “none of the above” is in the lead for Governor.

              • Is “THIS” going to be the big one for sure this time? When; next week, next month, next year, next decade? I’ve been hearing the same bull crap, I mean, chicken crap since at least the early 70’s. The only economic shift was from the sellers of books and PMs to all the suckers that believed these clowns every single time the cried ‘Wolf’! And suckers are still falling for it today. The prophets of doom are making a profit with the doom and buying big homes and taking great vacations with the money from these frightened idiots who believe every story that comes out.

            • OK, Lets do a Crude survey here.

Did you sign up for Obama-Care yet?

              VOTE Here:

Thumbs Up for “Yes” I signed up for Obama Care.

Thumbs Down for “No” I did not sign up for Obama Care.

Lets see where the pulse of the population is here.

              • WWTI … I get my healthcare from the VA and I have Medicare, since I’m retired. So I didn’t vote.

              • BTW/ my comment above was a survey about Obama Care, so open up the comment to vote up or down. Lol. Thx. WWTI

              • WWTI, I lied when I voted YES, but your poll was starting to look like the democrats voting results in Detroit. But I know Cuz signed up for Obama Care!!!!

                • NGIC, you know you’re a f#$%ing liar.

            • Hello, I have been hearing the term hold you nose…silly me, I didn’t make the connection, and I ready stuff every night. Since 2008 there isn’t much difference between the parties! Knowingly or not, I believe politicians have such a fear of being called a racist, they forgot to do their jobs. They have no spine or backbone what’s so ever? They treat our allies worse than the American people. Sadly, our day is coming!

If we the people demaned that politicans be restricted to their government salaries only, during their terms, you and I could run for any office we wanted? The would immediately resign, if they could no longer make their millions on the backs of the American people? It amazes me how they can sleep at night! It truly does.

A tiny San Diego-based company provided an experimental Ebola treatment for two Americans infected with the deadly virus in Liberia. The biotechnology drug, produced with tobacco plants, appears to be working.

In an unusual twist of expedited drug access, Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc., which has nine employees, released its experimental ZMapp drug, until now only tested on infected animals, for the two health workers. Kentucky BioProcessing LLC, a subsidiary of tobacco giant Reynolds American Inc. (RAI), manufactures the treatment for Mapp from tobacco plants.

The first patient, Kent Brantly, a doctor, was flown from Liberia to Atlanta on Aug. 2, and is receiving treatment at Emory University Hospital. Nancy Writebol, an aid worker, is scheduled to arrive in Atlanta today and will be treated at the same hospital, according to the charity group she works with. Both are improving, according to relatives and supporters.

Each patient received at least one dose of ZMapp in Liberia before coming to the U.S., according to Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

        • Eppe, glad to hear your trip went well. I trust you’ll be back later with some more humor for us. Can sure use it.

          • Would you remarry?

Husband and wife are lying quietly in bed reading when the wife looks over at him and asks the question.

WIFE: ‘What would you do if I died? Would you get married again?’

            HUSBAND: ‘Definitely not!’

WIFE: ‘Why not? Don’t you like being married?’

            HUSBAND: ‘Of course I do.’

WIFE: ‘Then why wouldn’t you remarry?’

HUSBAND: ‘Okay, okay, I’d get married again.’

WIFE: ‘You would? (with a hurt look)

            HUSBAND: (makes audible groan)

WIFE: ‘Would you live in our house?’

            HUSBAND: ‘Sure. It’s a great house .’

WIFE: ‘Would you sleep with her in our bed?’

HUSBAND: ‘Where else would we sleep?’

WIFE: ‘Would you let her drive my car?’

HUSBAND: ‘Probably. It is almost new.’

WIFE: ‘Would you replace my pictures with hers?’

HUSBAND: ‘That would seem like the proper thing to do.’

WIFE: ‘Would you give her my jewelry?’

HUSBAND: ‘No… I’m sure she’d want her own.’

WIFE: ‘Would you take her golfing with you?’

HUSBAND: ‘Yes. Those are always good times.’

WIFE: ‘Would she use my clubs?’

            HUSBAND: ‘No.. She’s left-handed.’

            WIFE: – silence –

            HUSBAND: ‘ . . … . Sh*t.’

            • Eppe, another good one. Keep them coming.

            • Beer though the nose hurts.

              • And wastes beer.

            • Seriously… what kind of JACK A$$ gives thumbs down to this funny joke.

              • Why are folks so concerned with ratings?

            • That a great one, sounds like my wife she asked me that same question. If she died would I get remarried? I told her NO!!! I did not want to take the time to train another woman. OOPPs said the wrong thing!;-{

                  • NGIC, what did I tell you about touching my stash? {just kidding]

            • So I assume you are going to try to conquer it then? Cool. There’s a 26% chance we won’t be hearing your idiotic rantings anymore!

(BTW, if doing unnecessary things with a high chance of death makes one alpha, I’d rather be beta. It has a higher chance of survival.)

              • Winston, if someone could get acid away from a computer that would be a blessing.

          • AE,

Man, anyone who can summit K2 can easily survive in a pure SHTF event. The discipline to acclimate, the adherence to regimen, the ability to ration are all critical to survival. Those guys got it.

K2 is literally the eeriest place on earth. If you can live there, you can live anywhere.

            • From your post. I assume K2 is near Detroit?

        • Cool beans,
          It gives me hope!

        • It is about “Lay Lines” an ancient mystical belief in energy concentrations where one can see and perhaps go farther.

TPTB started this war against the druids who also traveled to America, North and South, and all over the world.

They were the founders of many civilizations going back to before recorded history.

Another notable lay line is in Tara, Ireland.

          So is Stonehenge.

          Google it.

          • Scout, how correct you are, there are lots of ancient monuments on the 33 degree north of the equator. My BOL is at 33 degree, 20 minutes north, and a group of people established ‘tama ra’ around the corner from me. They claimed that they saw many things unexplained in the sky many nights.
The guidestones are 34 degree, 13 minutes north, but probably on a diagonal line. Early civilizations were more in tune than we are now.

        • Well eppe, you know Donald Trump didn’t put the stones there, cause he’d have put his name on the top of them.

          • Its likely that Ted Turner is behind the guidestones given their location. Soros would have placed them in New York. 🙂

        • Eppe,
          You’re a female?

Sorry for mistaking you as a man all this time.

          • Nevermind, I just re-read your first post.

            • BJ, you said we might be related, please contact me, I posted my email in a post below. If you are related to JJ, I would like to talk offline, kin neet to relate to each other, if you know what I mean…

              • @eppe
we’re all related brother… speaking of which you remind me of my brother, telling those stale jokes I’ve heard before.

just messing with ya, keep em’ coming as brave likes to say.

        • To eppe and all (most) who post on Mac’s site….

I read a lot of bloggers and have done it for many years. To name just a few of them:

          ZeroHedge
          Silver Doctors
          Business Insider
          Natural News
          BreitBart.com
Dave Hodges & The Common Sense Show
          Activist Post
          All of Michael Snyder’s websites
          King World News
Yahoo News / AP / Reuters
          Daily Mail (The UK)

I read many articles and I also read the comments that people leave behind and I can tell you without a doubt, the people who post comments on SHTF Plan, are light years above any other. You all are informed, engaged and enlightened. You offer up great suggestions beyond what the host’s article offers.

Visiting this site and reading all the comments reminds me of the same feeling I got when I participated in a protest against those crazy government stimulus packages back on April 15, 2009. On that day, I met thousands of like minded people of all races and economic backgrounds who felt the same way I did.

          Thanks to all of you….

          Stan

          • Stan; You are dead on, what makes this site is the posters.
Most all the info we read are swapped between other sites. But it is all the posters here that make the ‘plan’ a place to go to first. Everyone should thank Mac for this site, and letting all vent, opine, postulate and bicker between each other. Been here for four+ years, and it is STILL the first place I go to.
We all need to get along, because we will be the ones to rebuild this once great nation to where it was 50+ years ago. I hope that one day after all the poop is gone, we all could have a get together and meet each other. Would that be a party or what? I expecially enjoy all the female posters here, they have an insite that us guys do not realize, until we see what they do for this site.
I do not mean to insult ANYONE for my jokes, just trying to make light of where we are. It would be nice to email each other on the side, and after meeting swinging richard, I could see that this could work. Many will say OPSEC, but we all know the NSA KNOW WHO WE ARE!!!
Still would like to be the one to swap email between posters, so here it is [email protected]. I have no agenda to infect anyone with virises, that is not my intention at all. But if you want to email a poster, let them know, let me know, and I will connect both of you.
We all have to work together to make it happen.
            Have a great night….

          • All sites that have kept people out of market and loaded up on pms….. keep on reading!! Such wisdom.

        • Whats funny is the Crash of ’29 taught these greedy bankers NOTHING. Greedy Margin buying/selling is what caused the crash then. Now instead of Margin, it has been replaced with Derivitaves. Greed has corrupted our once great nation again… The worry is, with this crash, the entire WORLD is involved. In the early 1900’s the US was becoming a blossoming industrialized society. 100 years later, the US is now a fat lazy country who no longer produces much of anything. (Outsourced to lesser countries). The ONLY thing the US has going for it, is the PETROdollar. By keeping US dollars as the means of currency in which to buy oil has kept the economy afloat for far too long. The world is tired of it, the question is, HOW TIRED. Everything is so intertwined, Our military dog keeps things just unstable enough where they still need our presence to “keep the peace”. So breaking financial ties in the middle east is still out of the question. There is a reason why the Middle East is considered 3rd world. That’s because we want them to stay that way. If these countries became truly independent they would no longer need or want our help. If they were truly free to make their own decisions they would sell their oil in whatever currency they want. Anyways im ranting all over the place…

          RTP

        • this economic collapse has been “coming” for so lone it’s starting to sound like game of throne…

          economic collapse is coming…

starting to wonder if alex jones has something to do with this website…

        • Along those lines… We are self-insured and of course we are losing our health insurance that we have paid for 20 years. Our premiums are doubling as is our deductible. I called Aetna to find out what my existing plan did not have that the new one would cover. Diabetes and maternity. An additional $5000. a year for a disease neither of us has AND maternity which I will not be needing because I took care of that issue 16 years ago when my fifth was born. We also do not qualify for any tax breaks. Nice huh?

          • Gunnar’s Mom, I’m sorry to hear that. If I lose my BlueCross/BlueShield, and that’s possible at some point, I’ll just be doing without coverage, period. I won’t sign up for Obamacare, regardless.

          • Don’t worry Ocommie care is designed to fail and single payer will be implemented. Then everyone can get the same healthcare us vets are receiving. Oh, wait a minute, I’ve been on the waiting list for 14 months maybe I’m not receiving healthcare. I wondered what the red pills they keep sending me are for.

          • It may all go to Hell after the election. Notice how Gas Prices always seems to drop dramatically just before elections, as if we forgot all the sudden how screwed we got over the last 11 months. The Government always hides the Bad News until elections are over. Just remember how 2008 went in Oct /November before Bush ran off and left Obama a big pile of shitola. All I can say is get prepared for most anything. If they crash the economy, I bet they create a massive power outage false flag so they can blame it on anything but themselves. If I didn’t own property with equity, I would stop paying Fed Taxes. Bunch of Bums running the Country into the dirt!!

            • Wwti, I read that OPEC was dropping oil prices to make tracking go out of business. Makes one wonder. Wish I could channel Tesla, and put them all out of the equation…

          • Blame it on the ZOG selected Ape along with the morons who voted for him. I take that back..Ape was selected as other presidents by the ZOG so blame goes to the tribe directly. Morons will always think their vote counts. BTW, I am sorry for the pain you are going through due to the tribe owned insurance scams.

          • Gunnar’s Mom,

I am sorry to hear this. I do understand your frustration.

Have you considered health share programs?

TEST had mentioned them in a link above.

I work in a small business and am also self insured. As the insurance rates continue to rise, other (affordable) options must be considered.

I will post more info on a current article.

            Sincerely,
            KY Mom

        • The stock market (bubble) just keeps going higher. The Dow, the Nasdaq, and the S&P 500 are all in the green today, topping last week’s highs.

I almost want to think that the stock market loves doomsday predictions. The worst someone thinks the crash is gonna be, the higher it shoots up. It’s almost like a fat middle finger to the flared nostril of the disgusted doomsday economist prepper.

Sometimes I laugh at the farce of it all.

          • Wonder what will happen wednesday at the open?
            A dive?
How long will the exhaulted dear leader wait to declare open amnesty for all illegals unless they are white of course???
How many of the ditched democraps squeal like pigs and cry for recounts tying up any new representatives,
And how long till the whole bunch of baboons come unglued over ferguson and not getting what they want,( blood of course)cause they are such peaceful pillars of society,,
Its going to be a bumpy ride me thinks,

          • It is illegal for the run of the mill person to borrow money to buy stocks. Yet here the Feds are buying trillions of dollars of stocks with what is basically borrowed money. Then they keep any gains and stick the taxpayer with any losses plus the original amount borrowed/stolen. Good deal if you are one of the special people.

        • The Fed may be out of ammo, but I’m not. Been hearing “IT’S COMING” for 40 years NOW OR MORE. WELL LET IT COME.

          • You make an important point. It *could* be that they can kick the can down the road for more years. This *could* eventuate into nothing more than a Y2K crisis (which, BTW, as NOT nothing, and had massive amounts of remediation – not like this situation).

The question is, as Clint Eastwood asked: “Well… do ya feel lucky punk? Well, d’ya?” I.e., *insurance* in terms of preparedness is just that. Let’s hope nothing precipitous happens, but that all it is – hope.

The reality is, per Dr. Lawrence Kotlikoff at Boston U., if you total ALL unfunded liabilities, we are now at $222 trillion. How likely is it that this will all be paid off? Actually, debts are ALWAYS paid off – and financially (broadly speaking) there are only three ways: cut services, print money, or raise taxes. You can choose any of the above, but generally one has predominance. There ARE no other options, period (tho the ways these are implemented can take a fairly broad range).

IMHO, now that there is a whiff of deflation/disinflation, and the scamsters are once again driving the price of gold and silver down, it’s a great time to buy more, if you can. Yes, it could go a bit lower, but so what? Are you going to time your buying to the last penny?

Above all get out and vote. And if you vote for more leftists, you truly and honestly deserve what is coming (and no, I am not saying Republicans – particularly RINOS – are much better, but at least we might be able to recover from their tenure. If you turn rest of the nation into a version of the People’s Socialist Dystopic Republic of Kalifornia, it will be generations before we recover, and only after a USSR style implosion

            • 2015 begins the unravelling in earnest. Mark your calendars. 🙁

            • sorry but you are wrong. There is another way and it’s by far the most likely. Simply defalt

        • The problem is that while it is a mathematical certainty that everything will at some point revert to the mean, no one knows exactly when it will happen. People have been calling it for many years and have yet to be right. Never underestimate the power of the establishment to keep things going for far longer than they would in a truly free market. For that reason, I won’t call a top. I’ll only predict that something will happen within 5-10 years. It could be happening while I type this, or it could be a long ways off. I’ll just keep doing what I always do, which is to prep some and live my life too. Part of that is living debt free so that if the collapse comes I am in as little a position of slavery as I can be in a country with property taxes and Obamacare.

          • I am remembering the famous Rothschild anecdote:

Asked how it was the family never lost money speculating, Nathan said, “we always sell too soon.”

Anonymous, on trying to time the market:
“Bulls make money, bears make money, and pigs get slaughtered.”

            • If the pigs get slaughtered, then why Rothschilds are still alive?

            • This is the Rothchilds Quote:

Give me control of a nation’s money and I care not who makes her laws. Mayer Amschel Rothschild quote

“If we can “End the Fed, we can also End the perpetual wars.” WWTI

              • “If we can “End the Fed, we can also End the perpetual wars.” WWTI

Not likely on either proposition. The GB’s (Rothschild’s) filled a need, ie: funding the desires of others to make war, to be repaid by the gold and booty collected by the victor. That is how they rose to prominence.

Granted they devised a way (The NWO / MIC) to make perpetual war and perpetual profit, but they were a natural economic phenomena given the continuing sophistication of economic societies.

If you killed every last Rothschild, eventually, someone else, or some other group would assemble to fill the gap. The Rothschild’s are just another example of the manifestation of an attribute of the human spirit, and not the best one at that.

The “MOB” exists in every culture, every race. It is the basic economic organizing principle of every emerging people into a complex society. The Rothschild’s took it to a different, more sophisticated level that was less “messy”.

And they “institutionalised” it with Rules and Regulations which everyone could use to play the game; but like a casino, the odds are with the House.

                Pun intended. 🙁

Kill the FED. Death to the New World Order. 🙂

                • Just remember that if you remove one group of sociopaths from power, another one comes in to take it’s place (see: Iraq after Hussein and the ensuing US occupation). The reason is that most normal people really don’t desire power. All they want is to live their lives in a system that ensures their existence is relatively devoid of pain. Thus power falls to those who lust after it and most of them are not exactly nice people.

                  • My point exactly! 🙂

          • Very, very well said.

        • All I know is that reading about times passed and old values from the Bible gives me peace. Maybe I am getting old and maybe it’s God’s way of preparing me for whatever is coming. Stonewall Jackson is a man to emulate, for me. Be a man of peace and faith but ready to fight but more importantly, be ready to go to my Maker with a full heart and therefore, never live in fear.

“[M]y religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave.”
          ― Stonewall Jackson

      2. Already have a plan. Pretty much watch/read the news and monitor when it’s going down hill. As it gets closer (within a couple days), pull out my long “laundry list”, pack a small workout bag with Benjamins, go to work, hand the list to the order takers with instructions to invoice/pull the same day, pay for the invoice in cash, load truck and go home. Fill all water barrels, top off all gas cans, garden equipment, gen sets, vehicles. Have plywood standing by to go over the ground floor windows, clean guns and watch the local/nationwide news.

        Anybody have a better idea…?

        • unknown suspect.… Clean the guns with higher priority and at same level as your most critical preps. Don’t know why but this morning I replied back to the little voices saying leave me alone, my guns are all clean and ready for action at any moment.

          • They’re already cleaned and oiled, I would like to use the time to go over them one more time.

          • Damn

Wife and I are doing the same thing right now. Those damn little voices had better be wrong.

I was all set to go and mow the lawn, now im thinking about going and locking myself in the garage for a few hours and getting ole #9 all over me

              • Doing that right now while reading on the iPad! Hopps number 9 that smell brings back a lot of nostalgic memories . Just cleaned my uncles bring back from Bastogne SS P08 haven’t shot that one in a few year after he bequeathed to me . He’s got wings now nolonger parachutes.

With your attitude you have already done them proud. I will never be the man my father was. I just hope we all can be the selfless, hard working, honest men they were. I hope we can be as courageous and overcome what they did and keep a country where all can be free.

I hope the voices are wrong but now I also have the feeling I get when I know a fight is coming. May God keep us in his mercy, may he be on our side, may he forgive us for our sins, and if he is on our side I have no fear for we will win the day.

            • Mike, I wish your wife could tell my wife that little voice calling for clean guns is not the sign of insanity rather is the opposite. We all hope these voices are wrong but we hate surprises and not be ready. God bless you and your family.

              • Anonymous

I wish my wife could help your wife too. When it comes to guns it is always best to have them ready. May God bless you and your family as well. In fact may he bless everyone reading this too.

                • Cleaning guns is way over rated. Stay away from poodle shooters like the AR, and go with something real. Hoppies No 9 is much more useful over Ice Cream UMMM BOY. Got some of the Old stuff left, it’s great.

        • The thing is…how will we know when its a few days out?

          • You won’t. One minute you will be all fat and happy, and 60 seconds later all the ATMs are black, banks offices are closed, creditcards don’t work, und-und-und.

          • Gut feeling. I figure first couple days will be a build up of rioting. That’s my warning order (last laundry list go over, count up the Franklins needed in the gym bag). When the first major city goes into martial law lock down, hand over my list and pay the bill and load the truck. Call the boss on the way home and see what the company’s plan is. Play it by ear and see if rioting starts in my AO. If there’s rioting, telecommute to work until it dies down. If the dollar craters, we’ll have to discuss whether we’re still open for business and what would be payment for my services because we’re not taking worthless paper.

            • Day 1. I want to see Army Tanks rolling down the streets of Washington DC, shooting rounds at Congress and the White House in a coup d’etat.

I would break out my American Flag and wave her proudly.

Day 2. All Debts would be erased, and wars come to an end.

Day 3. A NEW US Currency printed by the United States instead of the Fed, and every American would be issued $10,000 in cash. All Post Offices become the New American Bank.

Day 4. All Corrupt Politicians would be rounded up and placed in FEMA Camps for their public Trial.

Day 5. Free health Care for Every American, Cradle to Casket – No more Insurance Companies.

Day 6. A BigAss Drunken Parade andfestival nationwide Declaring our New Found Independence.

Day 7. Rest and Give Thanks.

              • WWT… If what you described really happens we’ll have no more AIPAC left. FREEDOM from the SOB’s.

        • I’ve got my plan in place also. It wouldn’t take me long to load up the truck with what few supplies I have left plus the spare gas cans and bugout to GA. I just hope I won’t have to, but I’m prepared for the worst.

          • Meanwhile the Moron Romney has been out and bragging that if the Stupid Party wins the Senate then the Stupid party will be pushing amnesty. Just why do we even bother trying to correct things? I truly believe the fool is going to try a run in 2018.

            • NO, Romney is not pushing “Amnesty”. Romney is saying that a Republican majority in the House and Senate will send comprehensive immigration legislation to the President for his signature; one of the basic tenants of which would be secure the border first.

I expect that legislation to include a number of other provisions that would limit immigration for uneducated, illegals but open the door to highly skilled, college educated professionals.

              There’s a difference. 🙂

              • If they would
                1. Secure the border
                2. Round up and deport every last fucking illegal alien
                3. Reform the system so its a little harder to get a green card and make ENGLISH THE NATIONAL FUCKING LANGUAGE like it always was before!
Ive had it with people telling me I need to learn the language of these ILLEGAL ALIENS,
I was here first, and BORN HERE TO US CITIZENS!
                YOU learn to speak ENGLISH!

              • DK

                And……

You expect the POS to sign that bill? All smoke and mirrors. What planet are you living on DK?

                Your post must be sarc?

                • No I do not expect that POS to sign that legislation. I expect that POS to grant Amnesty to ILLEGALS. I expect lawsuits to roll it back.

Depending upon Obola’s determination he could try to press his Agenda by EQ even to the point of impeachment, when Biden would pardon him for all of his crimes.

Judgement Day is coming for Obola in the next two years. 🙂

          • The first part is a wee bit cryptic. I work at what I would consider “the candy store” for preppers. In reality it is a regional wholesaler that sells hunting/fishing/trapping/camping equipment. Secondary sales are OTC pharmaceuticals, health care items (exam gloves, tampons, band aids, etc.)

This company is not a just in time shipper, they actually stock and store merchandise in warehouses.

        • its a good plan, may i also suggest a visit to the doctor for a check up and blood work, possibly to tell him about how your friend *wink wink went on a two week deep back country hiking trip, got a toe infection and nearly lost his toe, and how your about to go on a trip like that and how nice it would be to have some emergency anti biotics etc.

do they still do that? give out anti biotics for people planning long camping trips?

          • You can buy them online without the hassle. I just got some amoxicillin for my med kit…Think “pet supplies” since it’s the same thing either way, in SHTF moment.

          • Already stocked up on fish mox. The medicine cabinet is already stuffed to the gills with bynadryl, motrin, tylenol, bandaids, cold meds. Between that and the boxes of military trama pads and the EMT kits, I’m set.

Two books highly suggested to have- Special Forces medic manual and US Army soldiers manual Skill Level 1-4 (AKA “smartbook”). The soldiers manual gives you basic medical instruction, the medic manual goes into depth on a lot of subjects.

          • Just purchased several hundred courses of antibiotics from online pet supply. Its called fishmox and other such names. Once at the store just search for fish antibiotics. I would consider doing this in short order as it is considered a loophole in the law that will be closed shortly I believe. I ordered penicillin, amoxicillin, and cipro.

            • You can also buy hypodermic syringes for pets. big ass needles though. not sure I would want to get stuck with one. I used to cringe when the pups I had received their shots with what are basically horse needles.

              • Hypodermic syringes can be purchased at the pharmacy without a prescription. You can get any size desired. I have purchased a large variety for our preps. They cost around .30 – .40 cents each. Buy 100 for discount price.

              • The syringes are diabetic supplies, but, at least in my state, Oregon, you don’t need to be the diabetic to purchase them. My aunt used “U-100, 28 gauge.” I have a few 10-packs in my med kit too.

            • I go to Nogales in Mexico for my meds. Cheaper,no questions asked.

          • KOS, You can buy Fish Antibiotics, same exact thing as human antibiotics. Campingsurvival com Get on it. Also buy some Potassium Iodine Tablets. For when the Nuke Plants Blow after 30 days when they run out of Diesel Fuel for their generators that keep the spent rods in the cooling towers cool. Fukishima nationwide.

          • Consider buying antibiotics from Camping Survival one of SHTFPlan site sponsors. They have add near the top of the page that connects to their site via hyperlink. They’re offering free shipping on a wide range of the antibiotics that they carry. It’s on my list of preps to purchase this week.

Full disclosure: I have no connection to or interest in Camping Survival.

A Veterinarian’s Perspective on Prepper Medicine, by D.A., DVM
Email This Post Print This Post
First let me advise you that I am not an MD, nor am I qualified or authorized to give medical advice to humans. Keep in mind, however, that we are all animals. The information herein is for reference only, and I bear no liability for misuse or adverse effects (allergy) by using any of these antibiotics. Essentially all of the antibiotics used in veterinary medicine are from human medicine, and most were tested on animals before being used in humans. Although you may have used a particular antibiotic in the past, your body may have developed a sensitivity or allergy to the very same product since then, and you should discontinue any medication if you are exhibiting negative signs (usually a rash).

Everybody gets sick sooner or later. It can be a mild “cold” or upper respiratory infection, or blood poisoning from an infected scratch. In a post-disaster situation, the risk of infection likely will go way up, due to lack of medical care, contamination, stress, poor nutrition, exposure, and reduced hygiene. Even gunshot wounds are possible, or lacerations and broken bones. Having a stock assortment of common antibiotics ready now is a good idea.

Antibiotics don’t change to poison the day after they expire. It has been proven that antibiotics are safe to use for at least five (5) years beyond their expiration date. Don’t throw away expired antibiotics or other medications for that matter. They may not be as effective as when they were “fresh,” but they are probably 90+% still active. In a disaster situation they may not be available again for a long time, and you’ll be longing for the Amoxicillin you flushed down the toilet. [JWR Adds: The only exception might be cycline family antibiotics, which have been reported to cause Fanconi Syndrome when they break down. This has been previously discussed in SurvivalBlog.]

Try the “First Choice” medicines; if they aren’t working, try another First Choice, or go to the “Resistant/2nd Choice” column. You won’t have the luxury of doing a culture and sensitivity test to see what is causing your infection and what the best antibiotic is to eliminate it. This will all be trial and error. You have to give an antibiotic at least a three-day try before deciding it’s not working, and even slight improvement is a sign to continue what you’re on. Don’t jump from one antibiotic to another unless symptoms are worsening. Checking body temperature is a good way to judge. If your former fever of 103°F is coming down, it’s a good indicator that things are improving. (Add a digital or “old fashioned” thermometer to your list.)

An abscess generally needs to be drained before it will heal. That means lancing it at some point to “let the corruption out” of the body. Your immune system is trying to throw out the bacteria by killing and consuming it, creating pus, but sometimes the bacteria reproduces faster than the white blood cells can work. That’s where antibiotics help out by interfering with the bacteria’s reproduction or by actually killing the bugs. Often the abscess will rupture by itself, when the skin over the infection breaks down, but you can also get pretty sick before that happens. (Add a half-dozen scalpel blades to that list, too; #10 curved edge for slicing, #11 sharp point for lancing.)

There are various categories of antibiotics, such as the penicillins (-cillins), sulfas (sulfa-), tetracyclines (-cyclines), and fluoroquinolones (-oxacins). If you have Ciprofloxacin and it isn’t working, then the other “-oxacins” probably won’t be any better. This isn’t always a hard/fast rule. Amoxicillin may not knock down a cat bite abscess, but amoxicillin-clavulinic acid combination usually will. Survival medicine is a situation where you do what you can with what you have. And add lots of prayer.

              • PART 2:

An antibiotic doesn’t do the job of wiping out infection all by itself; it basically gives your own immune system a “backup.” You can optimize the effect of an antibiotic by keeping yourself well hydrated, warm, comfortable, well-fed, and by reducing stress as much as possible.

If you are stocking up, it would be good to have something from each category, such as Amoxicillin, Cephalexin, Ciprofloxacin, Doxycycline, and Trimethoprim-sulfa. Or substitute Amoxi-Clavulinic acid for plain Amoxi. It’s a “bigger gun” for treating infection. Also, you want to use the first line of antibiotics in nearly all cases (exception might be a bullet wound or deep laceration). If you continually use the strongest/newest antibiotic, you risk developing resistance to that antibiotic. And use the antibiotic until you are certain the infection is over, and add a few days treatment to be sure. A wound would usually take two weeks’ treatment or more.

Cost can be an issue with some antibiotics. I traveled to a very remote atoll in 1997, and I knew the place was a virtual cesspool. I asked my doc for a prescription for a week’s worth of Ciprofloxacin, and the 14 tablets cost me $100. Today you can get 30 for $4. Generics in nearly all cases are just as effective as the original trade-named product. Some in-store pharmacies (Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Giant Eagle) offer a 30-day supply or 30 doses of common antibiotics and other medicines for just $4, or sometimes free.

Viral infections, such as flu, are not affected by antibiotics. But my opinion always has been that if a virus is causing damage, there are secondary bacterial “opportunists” that are also present, and an antibiotic can’t hurt. It may reduce the overall recovery time.

I’m not including injectable antibiotics for several reasons. First, they require syringes and needles, which in today’s world are used only once and replaced. Before plastic came along, syringes were made of metal and glass and were reused until worn out. Needles were re-sharpened, sterilized, and reused as well. Not nearly as sharp as today’s disposables. Second, many injectable antibiotics require refrigeration and may have a shorter shelf-life overall. Third, once you put it in, you can’t take it back out, but you can stop giving tablets if there is a reaction. Lastly, injectable antibiotics are nearly always in glass vials or bottles, and subject to breakage.

                  • Bingo DK, 50K for Turner, well it would be like picking up a quarter for us. But the banker will not talk, and the Mullinex land owner will not talk. But I will say, it was a trip to be there at the same time as the ones I spoke of. I will be watching the Elberton Chamber of Commerce for a video. Maybe it was meant to be. Strange how that works sometimes. May we all come out on the other side unscathed….

                  • PKKL, than you for this very timely article. I’m printing it out as I was just thinking that this is just what I need to top off my preps. I wonder if PETCO has them. I’ll check today and if not will order from the site you mentioned.

I suggest that folks might take a CERT course to learn a bit about first aid and other things to do in emergency. Look it up, they are usually offered locally and then you get a backpack with a hard hat, safety vest, flashlight (with expired batteries lol) and other good stuff. I tend to panic in emergencies and I figured if I had some knowledge about what to do I’d be less likely to panic and possibly do something useful.

                • Thanks PKLL, you spoke volumes of info…
                  Luv u gal….

                  • EPPE and all… 🙂

                    PKLL

              • PKLL,

Thank you for posting this information!

                • I’m trying to post PART 5 (the last and most important part), but I can’t seem to get it on here….I’ve tried 6 times….it is “human dosages”

                  PKLL

                  • There is a little more info, but for some reason it won’t let me post the rest (or it’ll show up over and over)……sigh…..I’ll try later…

                    PKLL

        • I think it might be better to have sandbags for the windows( or steel plates) than plywood…what do you guys think?

          • Sandbags @ .41 cents each and sand is an easy cheap bullet stoper. Again find them at campingsurvival com. A good resource. Buy the OD Green bags as they will be easier to camo in the wild out doors.

      3. When it happens I’ll believe it and ready to deal with it as much as humanly possible. Right now my focus is who will benefit from the artificial collapse so we can ask some questions later from that tribe responsible for it. I’ll be polite during the questioning.

      4. I recently returned from visiting my son in an area that is economically very strong. (Now Hiring signs etc. still in front of Businesses) After listening to one of his friends go on and on about his investments, rental properties etc. etc. I asked him “In light of all the things going on in our economy and the worlds economies how long do you think it will be before we have a financial collapse?” He said “Oh in about the next 100 years” !!!!!! Can you believe that ??? MOST people are just clueless about how PRECARIOUS the situation really is.

      5. And gold and silver suppression continues. I logged onto JM Bullion this morning and purchased a mint roll of Silver Eagles for $397 and change. Last month I paid $448. From what I read, the current price is below extraction costs. I might buy some gold, but fear it will be outlawed for use by the goyim.

        • In the book about the economic collapse in Argentina the author that lived through it said that gold chain neckless was the best gold form to have. The grey / black market economic system that immediately sprang up universally considered all gold to be 14K. The shop owners had neither the tools or inclination to test and convert 14k or 18k to 24k to determine value. If you had a 24K gold coin you got 14K value for it. Gold chain Llnks could also be removed individually for small purchases.

Craigs List may be your best source. Beware the buyer and seller as thieves and the dishonest like to lurk there as both buyer and seller.

          • Would that author be FerFal, and the book, ‘Surviving Economic Collapse’?

I read that book, I don’t recall anything in it about, “The shop owners had neither the tools or inclination to test and convert 14k or 18k to 24k to determine value. If you had a 24K gold coin you got 14K value for it.”

            I doubt that, very much.

            • “I doubt that, very much.”

              From The Book.

“Since it is impossible to determine the true mineral percentage of gold, small shops and dealers will pay for it as regular jewelry gold. What I would do if I were you: Besides gold coins, buy a lot of small gold rings and other jewelry. They should be less expensive than gold coins, and if the SHTF bad, you’ll not be loosing money, selling premium quality gold coins for the price of junk gold. If I could travel back in time, I’d buy a small bag worth of gold rings.”

              • I gave my copy away. The book proper goes into greater detail.

              • Gold coins….just like silver coins, will have a specific weight for a specific size.

As long as you stick with an easily recognized coin, you are fine.

Match the dimensions of the coin with the specified weight for that coin and if it matches, you have the authentic coin.

I would think that gold jewelry would be the last thing you would want for trade purposes. It’s simply too difficult to ascertain whether you have 10k, 14, or 22k. It would take an expert for that.

With coins, all you need are calipers and a scale.

                • Walt Kowalski

You may be correct. I’m just passing on information from the Surviving Economic Collapse in Argentina book. The author had real world experience in how a society adapts under these circumstances. The US may be entirely different. No one will know for sure unless or until it happens here.

I highly recommend the book. It was very informative, kind of amusing and damn interesting for sure.

              • I do not think that quote is from his book. Also, The first sentence is entirely not true. You can use an acid test or use an electronic tool to learn what value the metal is, 14K, 18K, 24k etc…

So, just for kicks, I got out the book and looked under the section titled, ‘What Kinds of Precious Metals Should You Get?’. In it he says to get well known coins such as American Eagles because they, “are the best way to preserve your savings”. Now why would he say that if small shops and dealers will pay for it as regular jewelry gold? Hmm?

Under the section titled ‘Precious Metal “Pocket Change”‘ he specifically recommends 18K gold, again, why would he write that if small shops and dealers will pay for it as regular jewelry gold?

He even goes on to mention an acid gold test kit. Why would he write that if, it is impossible to determine the true mineral percentage of gold?

Anyway, I didn’t see that quote in the book under the sections about money and precious metals.

It is a good book, and the rest of what you said about gold chains, is true enough.

                • This is from the books web site from the author.

I didn’t take it word for word as I don’t have the book handy. I remember that the part about gold jewelry was in the chapter about the Black / Grey market is memory serves me.

                  • Here it is in its entirety from the Web Site.

                    GOLD!!

Someone hit me in the head please because I messed up about the gold issue.
Everyone wants to buy gold! “I buy gold. Pay cash” signs are everywhere, even on TV! I can’t believe I’m that silly! I just didn’t relate it to what I read here because they deal with junk gold, like jewelry, either stolen or sold because they needed the money, not the gold coins that you guys talk about. No one pays for the true value of the stuff, so big WARNING! Sign on people that are buying gold coins. Since it is impossible to determine the true mineral percentage of gold, small shops and dealers will pay for it as regular jewelry gold. What I would do if I were you: Besides gold coins, buy a lot of small gold rings and other jewelry. They should be less expensive than gold coins, and if the SHTF bad, you’ll not be loosing money, selling premium quality gold coins for the price of junk gold. If I could travel back in time, I’d buy a small bag worth of gold rings.
Small time thieves will snatch gold chains right out of your neck and sell them at these small dealers found everywhere. This is VERY common at train stations, subways and other crowded areas.

So, my advice, if you are preparing for a small economical crisis, gold coins make sense. You will keep the value of the stuff and be able to sell it for its actual cost to gold dealers or maybe other survivalists that know the true value of the item. In my case, gold coins would have been an excellent investment, saving me from loosing money when the local economy crashed. Even though things are bad, I can go to a bank down town and get paid for what a gold coin is truly worth, same goes for pure silver. But where I live, in my local are small time dealers will only pay you the value of junk gold, no matter what kind of gold you have. So, I’d have to say that if TSHTF bad, gold jewelry is a better trade item than gold coins. Forgive me for not talking about this before, but I didn’t realize this until today, when I visited my local market warehouse and saw a “Buy Gold” sign.

                • Personally, I would recommend Canadian gold and silver coins produced by the Canadian Mint. These coins could never be considered the property of the US Mint, and “recalled” like a bad Chevy.

That’s my line of thought. 🙂

                  • Me and Cuz always buy Chinese Coins, cause we know how honest they are! And Cuz says they remind him of Cubans with slanted eyes.

                  • DK

All bets are off if they want to confiscate gold. Any rule of law protection (US , Canadian or nugget) is not worth the paper its printed on. Finding that gold is another story. At that point any credibility the government had would have dissolved as they search through dresser drawers for the citizens legally acquired personal wealth.

                  • K2: Excess gold should be kept offshore (Switzerland) with a Johnson & Matthey account and held by a Panama Corporation. J&M are rock solid and unless the world ends, you or your heirs will likely get your gold back.

Its the very best strategy outside of your back yard. 🙂

                  • Excess. I’ll keep that in mind if I ever get excess.

        • Don’t fear the black “outlaw” hat. Wear it proudly, and keep your PMs in your pack or pocket…protected by Smith & Wesson.

      6. If you haven’t read Johnathan Cahn’s first book, “The Harbinger” you now have TWO, must read books as his second book is just as relevant and timely, “The Mystery of the Shemitah.”

Do yourself the favor of diving into these books ASAP. Things will begin to make much more sense once you do.

        • A movie (The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment) was made about “The Harbinger”. If anyone is unfamiliar with it, here is a preview.

Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn reveals that the same pattern for God’s judgment on ancient Israel is being played out in America.

          • Thanks KY Mom. Read the book but did not know there was a movie made. People should add “The Fourth Turning” and “Enemies Foreign and Domestic” to their must read list as well.

            • I’m currently reading “The Iron Heel” by Jack London.

It was published in 1906. While the book basically is trying to justify socialism/communism as the political future for the country, the reasons behind the push for a change in America’s political future are similar to today.

Rampant corruption, oligarchy, fascism, crony capitalism, a 1% class that controlled the law and the political class through political donations and outright bribery, sound familiar?

              • What London did not know – or refused to acknowledge – is that socialism/communism *grossly misunderstands human nature (see Solshynitsyn) and grossly misunderstands human action in economics (see Ludwig von Mises)

          • This is in response to KY Mom

Today in New York City ,The New World Trade Center has opened!

This is quoting Steven Jones God’s Kingdom Ministries

This does have very prophetic meaning. Something to look at!
(Quoting Steven Jones God’s Kingdom Ministries)

The prophetic significance of this tower is well documented in Jonathan Cahn’s book, The Harbinger –

Isaiah 9:8-11 was God’s warning against the ancient House of Israel when the Assyrians began deporting the first few Israelites. God meant it as a warning of full judgment to come, if the people did not repent. However, they decided to “rebuild” and to make their defenses strong to try to defend themselves against God’s judgments. Their words of defiance are given in Isaiah 9:9, 10,

9 … Asserting in pride and in arrogance of heart: 10 “The bricks are fallen down, but we will rebuilt with smooth [“hewn”] stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.”

The demolition of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001 was, as Cahn tells us, a “harbinger” of things yet to come to America, even as it was in Isaiah’s time. Further, America refused to repent, even as Israel refused in Isaiah’s time. This was expressed the next day in an address by Senator Tom Daschle, as he addressed the world in the Joint Response of the Nation on the Senate floor in Washington D.C., where he said,

Mr. President, it is with pain, sorrow, anger, and resolve that I stand before this Senate,a symbol for 212 years [since 1789] of the strength of our Democracy, and say that America will emerge from this tragedy as we have emerged from all adversity, united and strong.

The world should know that the Members of both parties in both Houses stand united. The full resources of our Government will be brought to bear in aiding the search and rescue and in hunting down those responsible and those who may have aided or harbored them.

Nothing, nothing can replace the losses that have suffered. I know there is only the smallest measure of inspiration that can be taken from this devastation. But there is a passage in the Bible, from Isaiah, that I think speaks to all of us at times such as this:

The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees [sycamores] have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.

This is what we will do. We will rebuild and we will recover. The people of America stand strong together, because the people of America have always stood together. And those of us privileged to serve this great Nation will stand with you.

On 9-11 the old sycamore tree, which stood near the chapel at Ground Zero, was hit by a steel beam from the North Tower and was “cut down.” It was replaced on November 22, 2003 with a cedar, called the “Tree of Hope.” So Isaiah’s prophecy was complete.

Political candidate for president, John Edwards, made a speech there on the third anniversary on September 11, 2004, where he said,Good morning. Today on this day of remembrance and mourning, we have the Lord’s Word:

The bricks have fallen, but we will build—with dressed stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place…

Let me show you how we are building and putting cedars in those three hallowed places, the Towers, the Pentagon, and the Field. Walk with me through this day and you will see that while those bricks fell and the sycamores cut down, our people are making those cedars rise.

Isn’t it fascinating how God causes the ungodly to prophesy in ignorance? In quoting Isaiah, these politicians have expressed openly what is in the heart of the American people as a whole (not everyone, of course, but the majority). It is the message that regardless of what God does to wake us up and show us that we are in danger of divine judgment, America will demonstrate its strength and resolve by rebuilding instead of repenting.

This is important also in light of the fact that the 911 event caused many people to go to church, but few received the proper answer from the pulpits. The outcry did not demand that America give up its lawless ways and reinstate God as the recognized Sovereign over all nations. Instead, the outcry demanded that the government lash out and “protect” us from the perceived evil men. They did not know or believe that God would judge America for its sin in this way. America has the religious misconception that God will bless us in our sin and protect us so that we may continue in sin that grace may abound.

The Freedom Tower thus represents the American resolve to maintain their freedom to establish their own laws, whether they contradict God’s law or not. They wish to be free from God’s rule, which they believe to be evil and restrictive. So the politicians expressed the resolve to rebuild with a bigger and better tower, which has now been completed and open for business.

However, they quietly forgot that the so-called “Tree of Hope” died in spite of great efforts to keep it alive. It was uprooted a few months ago,

This was the tree that had replaced the sycamore that was cut down on 9/11/01. While the politicians and the media made a big deal of the symbolism of the Freedom Tower, they refuse to admit that the uprooting of the Tree of Hope is just as symbolic and prophetic.

Now that the Twin Towers is open for business, the resolve of the nation to defy God’s “harbinger” of judgment is now complete. Both issues—the tree and the tower—have reached their conclusion. So now we await the divine response.

What will this mean in the months ahead? I suspect that it will release divine judgment shortly.

            • Building a Christian church at ground zero was not allowed yet a Mosque is quite ok. This tells us all we need to know as to who will win the coming war between civilizations.

              • As long as there is religion, there will be war.

                • only returning to God and re-instating moral values will solve our countries ills.

                  Very true.

My only dissent is that IMHO, we can recover from Republicans in power. There will be no recovery, ever, from the Democrats, until there is a USSR type disaster. So, while I agree with you, I will be voting. Yes, for the lesser evil. Let me know when you find the perfect candidate in the meantime!

                • True. Starting with the religion of humanism and it’s ugly sister, communism, which killed – according to Oxford Univ. Press’ The Black Book of Communism, around 100mm last century; Dr. RJ Rummel, U. of Hawaii, puts the number at around 160 mm, tho I think he revised it upwards before his recent death.

This makes YOUR religion of humanism and its spawn the biggest murders BY FAR in the history of mankind. And yes, religion is anything that tells us where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going. Ipso facto, your comment that “as long as there is religion there will be war” a logical absurdity.

              • Yea, the Christians when we dust off our broad swords and broadaxes and start placing these islamic garbage’ heads on a pike for the world to see
                NOMI

            • Kevin, thanks so much for posting this. Yes, it is very interesting. One possible criticism of Cahn’s writings is that we are *not* God’s chosen people, as the Jews were, not are we specifically a theocracy, as they were (understanding that all cultures adhere to some transcendent values, even a USSR or Nazi Germany, so in one very limited sense every culture could be called a theocracy. On the other hand, the *principles* behind God’s character, as revealed in the OT, are consistent, so this could well argue for your point.

            • Kevin G,

              Thank you for your post!

WND had some information about the Tree of Hope being cut down and destroyed the next day – in the spring of 2014. (link below)

I have read (somewhere?) that the Tree of Hope was either cut down or destroyed was April 15, 2014 – the date of the first blood red moon this year.

I have been unable to verify this in a web search.

Does anyone have information on this?

              • Harbinger’ author says loss of ‘Tree of Hope’ a warning

“Unlike the planting of the Tree of Hope, which was done publicly and followed by a publicized ceremony, the tree was uprooted with little notice given, out of the public eye.

In fact it was only after several inquiries were made as to the trees disappearance, that WND found out what happened.

The Tree of Hope, the symbol of a resurgent America, was uprooted in the spring of this year. The day after its uprooting, it was entirely destroyed.”

                http://www.wnd.com/2014/08/harbinger-author-says-loss-of-tree-of-hope-a-warning/

                • I see you have found a link, as I had just found something at WND. It appears it was uprooted in August, as I understand.

Thank you for sharing those You Tube Video links! I am keeping an eye out on all the world news and all that’s going on daily and also with high regards to what the Bible is saying. I have learned many things over the last 10 yrs approx. It was right after I found out the truth about 911 which was in the Fall of 2004.

We have been lied to in just about Everything! That includes religion. Christianity is very close, but they have been compromised.

                • KY: What are the 8th and 9th harbingers? Read the book but don’t remember… and I can’t find after a cursory search (ran out of time).

Can someone post the 8th and 9th?

                  Might give us a heads-up…

      7. Im not gonna do anything out of the ordinary. Im going to follow my normal routine. Who what when & where are unknown. So ill deal with whatever whenever it happens. Im certain most don’t realize how terribly bad it could become. Some think it will be a reset and their debts erased and things return to normal. Some think it will revert to a 1800,s lifestyle. Im thinking it will be a stone age root hawg or die survival of the meanest & fittest. Having Know How & being Self Reliant and staying Mentally stable & rational are better than any amount of preps & hoarded supplies.

            • Problem is you do not know where you will be when the trouble starts. Maybe in the middle of the ghetto on a freeway on your way home from work or hundreds of miles away on vacation. makes it interesting to contemplate.

              • I don’t ever plan to be in either of those places. I don’t work or vacation. And I sure don’t do ghettos.

          • SIX , I have maintained since the NDAA bill came to pass that when they decide its time to confiscate farm animals to feed the hungry masses , I will have not 1 living animal to supply them.
That would be a bad day.

            • Would be one hell of a ‘smoke-off’ or ‘jerky off’.

I hope we can let bygones be bygones???

            • No biggie I like to argue. I don’t hate anyone or hold grudges. I don’t give any negative thing free rent in my head.

      8. Arby, that’s a typical human response. Just like when your stomach is full you don’t think about food so anyone who has a job may feel more secure than a jobless person. It is the matter of being prepared since 99% of the folks on this planet really don’t know when and how the collapse happens by the 1%ers who are running the show. As long as you/we do our parts to not be crushed when TSHTF happens is the goal.

      9. I hope someone is making lists of the corrupt bankers and the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats. And then post collapse. We have a party coming up with the most creative painful ways for them to die.

        • Sierra Dave, I am literally counting the seconds brother. Most of us know who they are.

        • Better add the media to the list. They are the ones responsible for exposing government and corporate corruption but instead tell us about the size of Kardashi’s ass and fucking NFL highlights. I really like the phrase “If the media lies, the media dies”. The shitbags you mention would not succeed if the media was not complicit.

        • One thing I look forward to after the election. No Mo’ Political Commercial Adds for months. Sheesh!!!

          • Yes, billions spent for a $100K+ job? Something wrong with that picture WWTI?

      10. “American consumers are getting ready to spend more than 600 billion dollars this Christmas season. That is an amount of money that is larger than the entire economy of Sweden.”

Unlike Sweden, Americans are sheeple of the highest order and will trudge right over the edge of that cliff, just up ahead. Yes…that one.

All that spending is going to make the credit card companies and central bankers that much happier. Jan-Feb-March is when the slaughter starts… when people cannot even begin to pay off those huge debts they just racked up in December.

        • Socrates, that will probably be when the house of cards finally comes crashing down. All I’m getting for Christmas is more preps, same items I buy all year round.

          • Another Pagen Holiday designed to separate the Gullible from their wealth.

        • Socrates…anyone who goes on buying frenzy knowing he/she doesn’t have the mean to spend it is a banksters slave. Such slaves deserve the worse.

          • Anon, all my transactions will be in CASH. No credit cards for me, ever!

            • @ Braveheart… thats why your credit is bad. When I retired, I payed off everything, and downsized. I dont have any credit cards, mortgage, or auto payments and my credit score is terrible. Not that I give a fu*k because I dont want/need anything.

              • Brave, I mean that credit shit in a good way. Cash or trade is the only way.

            • BH. Do you even qualify for Credit Cards? lol Many who don’t, coincidentally say the same thing.

              • WWTI and Dave in Idaho, I don’t know if I qualify and don’t care. Credit card is something I have always refused to have. I’ve always been told that without showing some kind of history of paying on some kind of loan or credit card, I can forget about having any kind of vehicle financed or getting a mortgasge. So be it. I’ve always paid cash for a vehicle from a private owner. Pay it all up front that one time and don’t have a stinking car note to worry about and the only insurance I’ve ever had on my wheels was liability. I’m debt-free and much, much better off being that way. That’s how I’m able to prep to the extent that I do. I refuse to go broke every month struggling to pay a car note or credit card bill on time. That’s one type of stress I don’t have and can live without. Most of my transactions are cash except for rare occasions when I buy something online and I do that as little as possible. Online shopping does carry its own risks. As far as getting my own BOL is concerned, I’ve looked on tax auctions and haven’t found anything there, so I’m still going to GA when the time comes. All I have concerning credit are my rent, utilities, Verizon bill, etc. That’s nowhere near enough to help me get any kind of loan, so I don’t give a rat’s ass about credit now. So I just stay debt-free and keep prepping. I have a company truck with gas, insurance, maintenance furnished so no need for another jalopy. When my credit applications were rejected back in the 90s, someone was actually doing me a favor at the time. So I just live without credit. If I can’t buy something with cash or the debit card, then I just do without it.

                • I have bought a ton of preps with CCs off the internet. I get a better deal than wasting time driving all over kingdom come wasting gas looking for one prep. And its delivered to my door in days. So I am buying at todays prices using others money, and as the dollar becomes more wortless, and product more pricy. I amprobably saving money even at a 9% Interest rate on the unpaid balance. You have to calculate the numbers. Not bragging but my FICO is a 829 and rising cause i just paid off a vehicle a few days ago.

        • Ill bet more than half of it is on credit cards,
Watch the number of accounts in collections and bankruptcies go through the roof in february

        • Sweden is on it’s way to being an Islamic state. Better do some more research as to what sheep the Swedes and Norwegians really are. Rape gangs operate openly and the Swedes are too PC to say anything. It is a crime to object to being assaulted.

        • Socrates … I read that story myself today and my reaction was WTF? I’m not so sure that the 600 billion story isn’t psyop from the .gov/media to get the sheeple to spend. Sort of a monkey see monkey do kind of thing.

      11. At this point in time, the sooner the better.

      12. “Socialism (lit. “gouvernement in French) is the great fiction, whereby everbody endeavours to live off of everybody else.”

        – Frederic Bastiat, 1801-1850

And… why yes! You ARE indeed correct! Leftists have utterly NO idea why this has never worked, will never work, and CAN never work. But… that won’t stop the BowelMoveOn.org shills trolling this site from giving this a thumbs down, where they post from mommy’s basement where they live at 32 years old!

        • That sounds just like acid/eisen.

        • Yea, we have tons of those idiots over here in Hawaii,
Tomorrow here on Maui they will vote on a moratorium on all geneticly modified farming, the bad part is the county council already has legislation written to apply new rules to the entire ag sector so they can shield the county from litigation,
I dont support GMOs but i support bigger government and higher taxes even less,
Fuck em, hope they pass it then i hope these fuckers choke on the unintended consequences.
          NOMI
Ill be out playing, while them idiots ar whining about their taxes and food prices going up.

          • I really have to laugh at the anti-GMO push.

There is not one food growing in any garden that is not GMO. Heirloom seeds are GMO. Corn is GMO. Wheat is GMO. Apples are GMO. Grapes and Pecans are GMO. Beef, pork, and poultry are all GMO meats.

Man has been modifying his food for thousands of years.

            • Plants modify themselves when they cross pollinate. I have gotten some great tomatoes from Early Girls crossing with Beefsteaks.

              • JW, that sounds kinda kinky…:-D::-D:-D
                Was that a joke?

            • Over here in the 80s the ringspot virus all but completely wiped out the papaya industry,
The University of Hawaii developed a GE variety and perfected it and it is resistant to the ring spot virus(same virus as watermellon mozaic)
Growers have been planting that now for decades, is the only variety that will produce in an organic system and is one of the most productive in conventional,
These idiots are banning that too, only ok if its already growing, generally they re plant every few years, trees get too tall and lose productivity, root system gets compromised too by fungal and bacterial issues or nematodes,
THESE DUMMIES ARE KILLING THE FOOD SOURCE THEY THINK THEY ARE SAVING
Fuck em, let em eat FEMA MREs when the food system collapses, and it will, the stories im hearing out of salinas and the central valley are not good and guess where all the food comes from????
Oh actually they get high quality produce from mexico too,,, PGFFFFTT”’

            • Oh and by the way,
Numbers wise, we grow LESS THAN 20% of all food consumed here,
ON MAUI we actually grow LESS THAN 10%,
Because the other 10% is pineapple and onions and cabbage that ALL gets exported!
Good numbers huh, wonder what will happen when theres another 9-11
Last time there were shortages of everything for weeks until the gov relented and got the containers off the docs and onto chassis, there was 0 air freight for over a month

              • Kula, I hear Pineapples get imported to Maui from Viet Nam?

            • @Smokey

I’m not saying whether GMO is good or bad, but you don’t understand GMO.

Man has not been modifying the genes of food for thousands of years. We have merely been choosing the best plants to save seeds from and occasionally crossing two varieties of the same species to get the best of both.

What’s happening now with GMO is that scientists are actually taking pieces of DNA from one plant and splicing it into the DNA of another plant. And it’s not just from one variety to another. It includes genes from entirely different species or even families of plants. One of their experiments years ago was to splice DNA from fireflies into tobacco to get tobacco with leaves that would glow.

GMO might turn out to be good after many years of testing, but products on the market now haven’t been tested that long, and I don’t quite trust the scientists. You know how their results have been on medicines. Call 1-800-BAD-DRUG. Ever see those ads on TV? You might in the future see ads for 1-800-BAD-FOOD.

              • The splicing genes of different plants doesnt worry me,
Splicing the BT gene into the corn and soy is a big problem,
There is the issue of resistance in insects, plus then what are the unintended consequences???
You can use BT on all sorts of stuff but its not good to ingest, is one thing when its a powder on the surface of a leaf or fruit as a residue, its a whole nother when it is throughout the entire plant,,, that, not good.
The resistance thing sucks, some of the farmers near me grow it and dont rotate like they are supposed to, so now the ear worms are resistant, i dont grow it myself because i grow a killer hybrid from Johnnys that is delicious raw, i dont like the taste of the GE corn, not sweet enough and like my sweety says its not worth the calories if it isnt delicious.
                Anyway,
                Sorry, just my 2cents

                • I have a farmer friend who is older than I am. In recent weeks he has been working himself to death out in his fields from sunrise to sunset pulling resistant superweeds out of his Roundup-ready crops. Monsanto knew this would happen.

            • Smokey: Yes man has been modifying his food for thousands of years, but only in the 21st century did he start MIXING genes from unlike plants, putting the genes of a potato or tomato into an apple plant; or other such transference.

This is not the cross-breeding of different strains of plants within the same specie or genre. It is the frankenstein transfer of genetic material from one different group to another.

Bottom line GMO seeds produce plants that produce cancers as found by both European and Chinese scientists. The Chinese are smart. They are buying gold by the truckload, and they are burning GMO corn when it reaches their ports.

Confucius say: ” Man who lay with heifer is an udder fool”. 🙂

          • Some of these tree huggin apartment dwellers have no idea how food gets to their damn plate.
Most would put an end to all chemical inputs or pesticides as well.( some are good some not so much).
They would end up with 1800’s crop production rates and wonder why they are starving . GEEZ

And just why do they always think more GOV regulation is the answer ? Never understood it either.

            • I did an experiment on my farm,
Typically over a 10 month harvest period i can pick about 45,000-50,000# of kale from a single 1/2 acre plot, average about 800-1200 # a week picking 5-8 leaves off each pair of plants, usually 2-3 plants per hole in the poly, rows are double rows 200′ long hole every 14-16″
And have about 12 double rows per 1/2 acre,
THAT IS if i upply 1400# 16-16-16 time release 180 at planting and suppliment with 25# soluble 17-5-24 injected every other week through the drip, usually have to spray fungicide 3 or 4 times during the season, 1 day ITH and will occasionally use pyrethrin or dipel (BT) maybe 4-5 times,
              IF I GROW 100% organic
I can only get about 15,000-20,000# per 10 months, there is no injectable fert approved locally and have to apply 3tons of a 4-4-4 that fades at about the 3 month mark, and if i want to supplement its foliar and degrades the quality of the leaves, my in field expense is 4 times that when I grow conventional so use 4-5 times the fuel and get less than half the yield.
              Hese idiots have no clue,
If they think im going to bust my ass to keep them in the kale their fucking dreaming
You know what the funniest part is,
The store that takes the most,,,,,
Lets just say the female customers usually have as much hair as the males
So are definitely im 100% sure the people screaming for this moratorium.
Jack the prices, then ditch at the busiest time,,,,,

        • Might I recommend that you change your name, sir. You’re posting with the same name of someone who is what you’re describing.

        • See those red thumbs? Quod erat demonstrandum.

Don’t worry. Leftists have NO idea what that means. Nor anything else about human nature, economics or anything touching reality

      13. It’s hard to imagine a collapse of the type Snyder talks about. If it was gonna happen in the banking system, it should have happened in 2008.

Now ALL the central banks are taking turns debasing their currency and bailing out their banks with digital deposits and using accounting trickery to keep the ponzi alive.

We will all be eating dirt and bugs before these banks go down. They still have a lot of “real” wealth to steal from us.

You are either a tax farmer or a tax slave. If your digitally derived paycheck comes by way of .gov, you are a tax farmer. The few that are left are the tax slaves.

What are you doing above deck? Get below and pull harder on them oars…

        • JRS you are so correct. The criminal tribe will do and will use any means to protect their interests. Focus should be on destroying the tribe.

          • Just had to bring out the JOOO bashing didn’t you moron. The tribe. I guess Obama is a member right?

            • John W. When you take all the facts and point to the source of the problems it is the Jooooooooooooooooooooo Tribe.

            • John Wienstien…..Moron listen….First F%$#$ Obama…. second there are many Jews who are against the crimes committed by the tribal Zionist both financially along with killing women and babies. 3rd, the tribe doesn’t add members to their core criminal membership rather they use puppets like Obama and the pigs in the saudi’s desert shit hole to create monsters like ISIS and on and on. So what side are you with? If you side with the ZOG and the Saudi pigs then be very careful since the world wide awakening is happening. Research the daily events in Europe.

        • As one wit once said, at the very end of all the destruction, all that will be left are cockroaches and banksters. Obugler crony/former Dem senator/leader of 8th largest bankruptcy in US history Jon Corzine comes to mind

          • Test:

I always thought some investor who lost their money would hire a ‘hit’ on Corzine. Amazing he is still alive and kicking.

      14. There are many natural insect repellents. Here are a few common ones.

HEDGE APPLES – are an excellent natural insect repellent and seem work particularly well against spiders. Some folks even suggest that they deter mice. To use as a pest repellent, place the hedge apple on a saucer or dish and place in areas of your house where there is little activity, such as your garage basement, attic, and other crawl spaces.

You can place them on top of cabinets, in closets and around your foundation. And because they are organic and non-poisonous, if you have children it makes a perfect insect repellent for around the house.

Hedge Apples can be used as a natural home décor, both fresh and dried out. Used fresh they are a bright green color. Dried out they can be painted to add texture to wreaths and other decorations.

DIATOMACEOUS EARTH – has many uses. It is sold at many feed stores. Diatomaceous Earth (be sure to get FOOD GRADE) has been used for many years in the food storage of grains (wheat, etc.) It keeps bugs off your gardens, gets rid of fleas & beg bugs, kills insects in your home, and more!!!

It is also a natural de-wormer for people and animals. It is also used as a skin defoliator, to whiten your teeth. It can be used to lower blood pressure, lower triglycerides, and lower cholesterol.

It curbs appetite, keeps bowels regular daily, and more. Some have also said it also makes your nails grow so long and hard and hair grow well and shiny and fades the brown age spots.

If you or someone in the home travels and stays in hotels, add a teaspoon of DE to potted plants in various rooms in the house. If some bed bugs should “sneak inside your suitcase and arrive at your house”, they will be attracted to the scent of the DE and eat it.

While DE can be digested by humans and animals (dogs, cats, etc.) and is beneficial, it cannot be digested by insects and kills them.

MARIGOLDS – naturally produce a scent which mosquitoes and other insects don’t like, so there are ideal to plant around your house, porch and garden.

Marigolds are a garden friend. They help protect beans, carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, melons, onions, peppers, potatoes, pumpkin, radishes, roses and other plants. So, plant some marigolds in your garden too.

        • DE does not kill bedbugs by them eating it. DE is like walking over a bed of thousands of razor blades for them. When they crawl over it, it slices open their bellies and dehydrates them. They die of dessication, not by ingestion.

          • How to Use Diatomaceous Earth for Bed Bugs

“Diatomaceous earth is made of the shell remains of billions of dead microscopic sea creatures, called diatoms. The shells are made of silicon dioxide, a fine powdery substance to humans, but millions of sharp edged particles to household insect pests, including bed bugs.

When diatomaceous earth gets into the joints and body parts of a bed bug, it cuts into its exoskeletons, causing it to dry out and die.

Some insects also ingest the powder and it kills them from within.

Relatively inexpensive, nontoxic and simple to apply and remove, diatomaceous earth may be the solution to your bed bug problem.”

            Ehow dot com

        • Diatomaceous earth ( also known as fossil flour ) can very well be dangerous to humans and animals if it is taken into the lungs it can kill you or your pets. Eating it is fine as long as you mix it with something to prevent dust. I mix it with corn meal to de-worm my chickens, keeps the eggs clean also. Most all Amish stores sell it, other places are way to expensive. $2.38 a pound at Amish store.

      15. About that leftist Senator/Rep your “Yes we can” chanting neighbor is voting for tomorrow:

A vote for that leftist senator means a vote for someone who will vote virtually lockstep with Obama the next SIX years. One example: Regarding that deserter prisoner exchange a while back, you may recall that a few weeks ago, Obama spoke of three former Presidents making prisoner swaps at the end of wars that took place on their watch. CNSNews carried this quote, “Much like this swap… This is what happens at the end of wars,” President Barack Obama boasted Tuesday when he was asked about swapping American Army Sgt. Deserter for five vicious Taliban terrorists. “That was true for George Washington… That was true for Abraham Lincoln and that was true for FDR. That’s been true of every combat situation, that at some point, you make sure that you try to get your folks back… And that’s the right thing to do.” Really? That statement blatantly demonstrates that the most powerful man in the World and two term President of the United States lacks even a grade school level of knowledge of American History. What’s wrong with his statements? Let’s keep it simple—EVERYTHING.

        1. George Washington did not become president until six years after the Revolutionary War ended in 1783. By 1789 there were no longer any prisoners for him to exchange. But… close enough for government work re. the dates, I guess….
        2. Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in mid-April of 1865. The Civil War ended the following month. He was still dead at that time, if history serves. No deals were made to exchange prisoners after the war. All prisoners were simply freed. Where did Obama think the Civil War prisoners exchanged to? Kazakstan?
        3. FDR died of a stroke before the end of WWII. Like Lincoln, he stayed dead after the war so he couldn’t do what Obama – or his teleprompter – mistakenly said he did. You’ll recall that Harry S. Truman made the decision to drop two nuclear bombs on Japan, ending World War II. He made no deals for prisoners. We went in and released them when necessary.

None of the Presidents that Obama noted were in office at the ends of those wars, making it impossible for them to make any sort of prisoner swaps, let alone the 5 for 1, plus unspecified cash , for a deserter and traitor by our “57 States” president. And while none of the presidents were perfect, NOT ONE had malfeasance/ineptitude/corruption to have a series of scandals like Lois Lerner’s “dog ate my emails” IRSGate, that fake “YouTube movie caused Benghazi” idiocy, the utter corruption of Fast & Furious, APGate and snooping in the Congressional cloakroom, the utter ineptitude in handling the Ebola threat, the utter disaster of Obamacare and not even being able to get a website right, the 100 MILLION not working today, with 46 mm on food stamps (up from 32 when Obama took office), ad nauseam

You do NOT need to Snopes this. Just go review your high school history book. Apparently, Obama and his staff were too busy on the golf course to vet their “facts” on basic history. WORSE, even more than the ignorance of Obama is that he has managed to surround himself with a staff that is just as clueless, plus the American leftist lamestream media!

        • Anon, I agree. Excellent post.

        • Or obummer just knows that the average common core American wouldn’t know enough history to dispute his claims.

          • Anonymous:

            Great post.

Obviously Obama and the people surrounding him could care less if a few wide awake patriots recognize his lies. MSM certainly will not alert us to his bullshit lies. And we are being prepared for an even bigger liar to be pres, Hellery.

When you see Faux news question people on the street about history, they know nothing unless it is sports or dancing with the stars.

You have to hand it to THEM. Someone has done a mighty fine job of erasing brain power out of America.

            • Yeah Granny, do some fact checking for yourself, see my post below RE: Lincoln and the factual timeline. Annon was wrong again.

          • Six. I know history, read my comment below re: Lincoln. Even Anon could not fool me with slanted Snoop propaganda. Look at the 1865 Timeline I posted for the facts. Anon was wrong.

        • Truman did make deals for prisoners. Millions of anti-soviet Russians, Poles, and several thousand Americans were turned over to Stalin after WW2 was over in Europe. And we got essentially nothing in return.

        • Here is some good info on our current leaders and who they are:

          www commieblaster.com

        • Someone needs to tell Obama, you don’t swap prisoners at the end of a war, you repatriate them. Everyone gets to go home.

Not to mention, since when is the war on Islamfascism over?

During a war, the only prisoner swaps are generally one for one, and restricted to badly injured or mentally ill prisoners, to allow proper care for them by their own countries.

        • When harry Truman left the presidency he put himself and his wife in the family car and drove himself back to Missouri. No big caravans, no Secret Service and no Air Farce One. They were not treated as gods back then and things worked better.

          • Family was in Independence, MO for a visit with family in 1957. Dad and I took a walk around town and I got to meet Harry Truman. I was 5 years old, and still remember that. He had a big smile, and was mowing his lawn with a push mower when we walked by.

        • Anon-You are wrong and need to get your facts strait. Regarding #2 The Civil War ended 6 days before Lincoln was shot and killed. You have your comment back words. Here is the 1865 timeline.

Timeline in 1865- US Civil War
April 9th “Civil War Ends”- General Lee Surrenders
April 14th Lincoln Was Assassinated 6 days later after war ended.
          April 15th Lincoln Dies
April 26th John Wilkes Booth Shot and Killed
          May 4th Lincoln Buried
December 6th 13th Amendment Ratified – Slavery Abolished

So looks like your Boy Obama was right on the Lincoln issue, and why exchanging Americans for Americans was the goal to keep the union intact.

And who is your source again? Snoops? Bwhahahahahahaha

I could look up the other presidents, but why waste my time, Mac already posted another article. Cheers!! We are all looking for the facts right? Enough Propaganda out there already.

      16. La Raza Circulates State-By-State Guide On Where To Vote Without ID…
        http://dailycaller.com/2014/10/29/la-raza-promotes-washington-post-guide-on-where-people-can-vote-without-an-id/

Could non-citizens decide the November election?
“How many non-citizens participate in U.S. elections? More than 14 percent of non-citizens in both the 2008 and 2010 samples indicated that they were registered to vote. Furthermore, some of these non-citizens voted.

Our best guess, based upon extrapolations from the portion of the sample with a verified vote, is that 6.4 percent of non-citizens voted in 2008 and 2.2 percent of non-citizens voted in 2010.”
        http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/monkey-cage/wp/2014/10/24/could-non-citizens-decide-the-november-election/

        • But, some people here, say that voting doesn’t make any difference, so what are we afraid of? So what difference does it make how many illegals vote?

THEIR votes can’t count any more than ours do, right?

        • Al Franken became a Senator by 312 votes. Washington state suffered under two terms of a useless Governor by less than 200 votes, found magically in the trunk of a car during a recount. There are numerous voting precincts recording votes cast far in excess of registered voters there. As many as a third of non-military absentee ballots may be cast by illegals in some cities and states.

If folks think illegals don’t vote, then why are they being registered to vote by the Democrats? Folks think dead people don’t vote, either, but they vote Democratic for years after their passing.

          • Part of the fraud was a trick that comes up every election where a bag of ballots is discovered. Any ballots that have been out of the control of the voting system should be void. Just who takes home boxes of ballot? They take home blank ones, fill them out and then discovery them just like the fifty thousand votes that suddenly turned up in West palm Beach almost all for Gore in 2000. Hanging chads were the result of punching thirty or forty ballots at a time.

          • And what did the people of those states DO to address that obvious fraud? NOTHING! So, live with it, or die trying to change it.

Simply do what Obozo’s good buddy Bill Ayres would do and DID do on several occasions….place a bomb where it would do the most good for your cause.

      17. Folks with little experience in financial maters will often be caught by believing that “a trend in motion will remain in motion.”

      18. Ammo and firearms…check! Food and water…check! Medical..check! Other supplies…check! No debt…check! Hunker down!

        • Jim in Va.. you are a perfect example of what the tribal banksters are fearful of.

          • Amen.

            • “Amen Reverend”

              Independence Day

        • Jim in VA, you’re debt-free? Congratulations, so am I. Like Anon just said, banksters are afraid of people like us.

          • Yea,
Just a checking account with debit card for paying bills,
            0 debt
Can shut everything off and the overhead goes almost to 0
Is quite freeing really, people think Im nuts,
But when they are having trouble eating because their mortgage and car payments are eating through their 401 on the way to reposession,,,,
            Yep, im nuts,

      19. Well, I have seeds for next year, and a couple calves I’m raising, some chickens and rabbits, hogs going in the freezer, two hundred backup canning jars in case freezers go down, water, and a few bang bangs. Lots of prayers if this happens!

        • Just harvested my non GMO soybeans, not a real lot but they are heirloom seeds too. Hoping to make non radiated miso for soup.

      20. We’ve moved to Idaho and bought a really sweet retreat on a river with a well. We back up to BLM land across the river and have a few neighbors who are all awesome. We’re well armed, have a years worth of food, set on medical, but now low on money. My barn is almost finished and one pasture has temp hot wire fencing.

The chickens are laying enough extras to supply the neighbors too, the sheep seem fine, second dairy cow is going to be delivered when the barn is finished. Fruit trees are planted, but the garden needs work, the rabbits aren’t breeding like rabbits. We still need a wood burning stove, back up hand pump for the well and some solar, lots more fencing to expand livestock, rainbarrels would be nice . . . sigh. The list goes on.

Janet could you please work some magic and give me a couple more years? I’ll let you borrow my daughter’s fairy dust. Please? I have so much more to do.

        • I’m so jealous! 🙂 But really glad for you, too! Best wishes where you are! I’m an old Alberta and BC boy, from just north of you, now living in the Socialist Workers’ Thugocracy of IL, and really miss it.

          • Thanks, there’s plenty of room here still and you are welcome to come back. So much work to do. Just goes to show that anyone who thinks they can just bug out to a retreat and throw a few switches or whatever and be set should do some serious thinking. We’ve been here just over a year and have been working hard to get this far.
Since we homeschool my wife and many kids are home most of the time and put in long hours. I am blessed to be able to work mad hours and still come home and work some more (I’ve never missed a day in 24 years full time). Plus we we’re pretty squared away before coming here.

All this and I still don’t feel ready. Trust me we have been fortunate and times are still relatively good. For those of us who aren’t at a retreat full time and have been practicing all the things necessary in case of whatever please consider that it will take more than just having bought a lot of preps in advance.

Best of luck and keep your powder dry.

      21. There will be no obvious banking implosion.
The PTB or NWO (UN) will never let that happen.
As a member or the (former) middle class i continue to watch my financial power being stripped by an ever growing and socialist/fascist government.
Along with this is the slow repeal of the constituition and bill of rights.
I believe that the SHTF some time ago and the collapse is ongoing , it hasnt gotten ugly simply because the masses believe what they are being told , that all is good in government and there is no need to worry.
        We’ll soon find out.

      22. Finally, a post from one of these guys that gets it 90% right, and doesn’t try to bum-rush you into buying gold.

These big banks with liability-to-asset ratios of 50:1 are bad enough. He neglected to mention that the FED is now reported to be running at a ratio of 80 to one, and much of their “assets” are these bad home loans that are likely to be worthless in the end.

Once upon a time we had a regulated banking system in this country which worked. Then during the Clinton administration the policy was to force banks to make billions of $$ worth of bad loans, because it pleased the voters. In return for which the bankers were allowed to capture their regulators…..

There were people, even Fed Board members, who said that all this was a bad idea, but they were voices crying in the wilderness.

        /rant

        • The other Clinton crime against rational banking in this country was letting Glass/Steagall expire. Glass/Steagal prohibited banks from using depositor money to finance investments and stock market gambling.

The Glass/Steagall bill was 35 pages and protected us common people from vulture banksters for over 60 years. Dodd/Frank, which supposedly replaced Glass/Steagall, is 848 pages and another 14000 and counting pages of rules and regulations written by unelected bureaucrats which is, according banking industry watchers, less effective than Glass/Steagall.

You wonder why the country is going down the shit chute?

          • Navy Vet

Your 100% on the money with Glass-Steagall.

            • Oh one more thing, “Less Effective”.?

Glass-Steagalls demise legalized behavior that was previously criminal. Banks could not buy stocks under Glass-Steagall. Billions of QE money goes from the Investment Banks into the Stock Market FALSELY propping it up.

What was Illegal for 60+ years is now just unethical.

“Ethics? I don’t need no stinking ethics”!

          • Not expire – they actively castrated it. Dodd/Frank is as complex as it is to conceal the fact that it was written to favor the vampire bankers, not regulate them.

            • The Old Coach

              EXACTLY!

      23. literally been saying this for 4 years. stockpiling food for what? How many times has the economy collapsed since people have been crying about it? How many epidemics have you lived through? How many volcano and astroid world destructions have happened? None of it will ever happen! You gun nuts and obama bashers need to have your head examined.

        • You an Obama lover are making comments about our mental stability? What a joke you are.

        • What got me thinking about ‘stockpiling food’ (whatever that is supposed to mean) was watching my neighbors growing up. See, the lady of the house was from a Mormon family and her mother gave her a years worth of canned food as a wedding gift.

When hard times came via layoff of primary breadwinner, they had food to eat. And they did eat. Made me think about food security. It also made me think of my own childhood. You ever go hungry? You ever watch your mother go hungry so her children could eat? It changes the way you look at things.

Have you ever been in a house fire? Since I have survived one, I tend to place my pants and my shoes next to my bed. Situations like that make one think about preparedness in less paranoid ways towards the practical approach. I don’t have a fire extinguisher near my bed, but I wouldn’t criticize those who do. A old girlfriend kept one in her bedroom and I thought it a good idea for several reasons particular to her situation. Made me think about preparedness a bit too.

I live off the road system in rural Alaska. That means that any event that disrupts air travel will mean no supplies, mail coming into our little village. A few times, it has been because of Aleutian Volcano eruptions. Sure, we have plenty of fish to eat and could scare up some rabbits, but it made me think even more about food security. In fact, the non-preppers out here have food pantries that would rival many so called preppers. Even in the poorest homes (and I mean severe poverty) in the more remote villages upriver, I see food stocked up on shelves – not the ones in the kitchen either.

So, while you might be right about some here being ‘gun nuts’, or ‘obama bashers’, I’d say your bias is showing. That is, your normalcy bias. With any interest group you will see extremes and variety. I don’t consider myself a gun nut at all, but know how the tool works and how to use and repair if necessary. But I favor skills as much as I favor supplies. Even without a firearm, I consider the defensibility of situations. Forethought equals being forewarned.

If I am wrong, I still saved money buying in bulk and as food prices have increased, I am eating food at prices from 2+ years ago. Since doing this, I have noticed that we are eating healthier (less processed crap) and my bank account balance has increased.

You might consider rethinking your post and reflecting upon what survival in this world really means. Or not. You could have watched TV instead of posting something that painted such a wide, ignorant brush. Not even good trolling if that was your goal.

          • Great post SheepDawg. As one who has been homeless and hungry at one point early in life and have lived through many lean times since prepping seems prudent to me. I no longer even try to convince sheeple like finx to prep. The way I see it, its one less mouth to feed.

            • Thanks. One less mouth to feed indeed! I don’t bother either. I just hope that someone in the 20,000+ people who have read this page benefits from my post. Finx and his ilk are a lost cause. Even so, if he reflects enough on what I said, perhaps? Naw….would never happen! He knows everything and cannot possibly learn anything from a simple SheepDawg.

        • finx, we are not prepping because of Obama nor we bash him for no good reason. Our major concern as is the actual SHTF happens when Mochelle’s skirt is removed by the wind.

        • Finx, our favorite OLD troll, where have you been? Still a brain-dead Obama worshipper I see. You’re in for the biggest surprise of your life when these things finally start happening. YOU’RE the one who needs his head examined, so go f#$% yourself and have a nice day.

      24. They be packing the ballot boxes tomorrow. Maybe some will lose power. Have to see which way the wind blows but not putting too much faith in the election that would make a difference. Of course the Bankers are watching and the Fed stands on the sideline.

      25. I think that it has already happened. We are all like the frog setting in a bucket of hot water over a fire.
You just can’t or you don’t feel it getting hotter. There are so many angles it is coming from.
        1 Economy
        2 Ebola, and other diseases
3 ISIS. Muslim murdering in the name of allah. We aren’t doing anything about it.
4 Dictator in the White House
        5 Race problems
        6 Attack on the Constitution.
7 EPA CIA NSA FED just to name3 a few.
I’m just naming a few but you know what I mean.
I’m going to live the best as I can for today, because tomorrow it can call come falling down.
        AIM SMALL MISS SMALL
        Sgt.

        • Literally

Tomorrow, it could ALL come tumbling down, you heard Reids statement that he wouldnt step down no matter what,,,
Pretty arrogant if you ask me,
Dude needs to be taken down a few notches if you ask me,
ALL of these fuckers need to be taken down a few, ALL OF THEM

      26. Let me put it to you this way.

The American taxpayer will have to fail first. And you will be compelled if something black swan happens.

        The banks know this.

Besides which, even if they manage to fail, it’s sort of like being at the center of a thermonuclear explosion, they won’t feel a thing.

        They know this too.

        • When soccer moms can no longer fill up the SUV or feed the kids, that’s when these issues will go critical. As of now, they are still able to get a mani-pedi and take the poodle in for grooming. Still living a cushy life. There are plenty who are not, but apparently do not count since they are not part of a demographic that garners much sympathy.

      27. you all hear about the “no-fly zone” in Ferguson, right?
I have an interesting theory why:
they are mobilizing a massive police force, like the boston bombing.
a view from a helicopter might cause a stir, when we see tanks and military in US streets, again.

      28. Forbes’ David Kroll – an adjunct professor at Duke University Medical Center – notes:

The Associated Press and other press outlets have agreed not to report on suspected cases of Ebola in the United States until a positive viral RNA test is completed.

In other words, the mainstream media has agreed not to report on any suspected Ebola cases.

        • … until Wednesday.

Which will be, coincidentally, the day gas prices go back to $4.30 per gallon.

          What a coincidence.

        • Saw this in Forbes – a pretty credible source.

One thing about AP that many people do not know – almost all TV news is sourced from AP, also most newspapers and many on-line sites. This is why you can look at a dozen different news “sources” and not only see the same stories covered, they use the same words and phrases.

AP is obviously a tool of the Administration. Valerie Jarrett just has to make one phone call to make Ebola disappear and “poof”.

        • Terrific Scene, A movie classic.

They missed the part, “Do I understand that you men trained yourselves”? “Thats the fact Jack”!

      29. Sgt. I am backing you guys, the good ones which are most IMO.

They seem to get it here. I guess I will be a deputy some day for at least my street. They welcome the Oath Keepers in both of the main towns east and west of me.

Believe it or not in New England.

        Love our sense of history.

        And Destiny.

        Thanks Sgt.

        • Scout
All I can say is Thanks!
Your commits make it all worth the hammering I get now and then. I always treat people the way I want to be treated. (Got that from the Good Book).
If you have to become the Sherriff of your neighbor hood. Put your trust in God and watch your 6, and Aim Small Miss Small
          Sgt.

          • Thank you sir.

I was a wild one, gen x, but have come to truly respect what you really stand for. Sorry it took so long, but that’s how the “big guy” works. We must stand together and usher in a better era.

      30. Snyder: You’d love “all hell to break loose” – wouldn’t you?…..instead of an orderly, disciplined transition to Local Community Councils.

Instead of encouraging us to cooperate and work together to survive and flourish.

Instead of giving decent advice on how to do this transition. And giving us tips on the best way.

Here is mine, to give ideas to readers. And if they can do better, great:

But we’ve already been suffering and dying because of the economy….the one that the Elite have imposed on us.
It couldn’t get any worse. And the Elite continue to monger fear of THE FALL. It’s THEY that are fearful! Scared to death of us! Us finding out that We, THE People, WILL set up our OWN trades and services, BETTER! To work for US, to benefit US. NOT them.
We can begin by doing our our currency, as other Communities in the U. S, and Europe have been doing for some time now. And successfully, too!

Part of this new way, is getting off our butts and working with our hands again, As it should be, interacting and cooperating. No automation, no robotics, but putting the jobless human individuals back into society. Trading skills, goods and teaching others the same skills, as part of it. We all have different skills btw, cleaning, cooking, child-care/rearing, our hobby skills can be turned into work skills: survival skills, gardening and food crops (and planting more trees) knowledge of herb, pottery, papermaking (from cotton rags or wood pulp) , weaving cloth, felting (as the Mongols did for winter-wear) , wood-working / carpentry, 4-H CLubs into animal care, and all other kinds of smithing: such as metallurgy, and leather craft / shoe-making.
And part of the society must included music, composition of music, music instrument making and literature, and story telling, song and dance.

And, of course, there will be a work-shifting between all the above. All would participate in each type of skill, fairly.

Above all, the most important thing, the First thing is to set up a Local Community Council to deal with issues/problems in the area, a Council where all will have a say, including children. For the benefit of all. And if any commits a fraud, or crime, they are judged immediately by the entire Community, not kept in that position, for maybe years, until they’re voted out. If the person is found guilty, they’re kicked out of the Council IMMEDIATELY.

The 2nd most important thing, is to set up a Watch – for the protection of the Community.

The 3rd thing, is to dig latrines, have everyone, take their garbage to compost heaps, since there will be no more garbage collections. And ALWAYS teach hygiene, rigorously.

In this way, we will ALL prosper.

Let’s all pull together as Human Beings; show the Elite that we don’t need them!

        • Careful now. That’s some dangerous talk with all that self-sufficiency and pulling ourselves up by our own bootstraps. Downright subversive 🙂

With all seriousness though, these are great ideas. The kind that TPTB hate. Let’s get started, shall we?

        • So what your sayin is the 2 wolves and the one sheep are going to vote to see whats for dinner???

What you advocate, will work out if everyone is pretty much on the same page,

WE are where we are NOW because stupid people have been making decisions and voting for totally corrupt idiots to rule the kingdom rather than serve the people and protect the constitution.

Not attacking you, just pointing out the obvious bud,,,
Were in this pickle because there is no sense of pride anymore and these socialist garbage want everything to be fair for all,,,
          News flash,,
          Lifes not fair!
Deal with it rather than screw everything up so NOBODY can get ahead and we are all equally screwed, oh right except for the political elite
          THATS WERE WE ARE AT!!!!

          • Kulafarmer.

I am ready to dish out some of the, “Life’s Not Fair”, part.

            • I hear ya,
Lock the gates and turn the dogs loose,
Take the phone and toss it into the middle of the pond,,,

        • Child care skills:

Industrial strength Velcro straightjacket, Velcro ceiling.

          STICK.

There you go ^^ all cared for for the next 14 hours ^^.

      31. Just picked up some gold and silver cans of paint (one each). I’m going to dip the business end of some rounds in them and just wait and pass out some poor mans gold and silver nuggets to whom ever wants them. They can all eat SH~T and die for all I care.

      32. Housing – First-Time Buyers Collapse To 27-Year Lows

More of the usual economic malfeasance and/or plain ol’ ineptitude from Team Obungler. Fits perfectly with that $1 freaking TRILLION students now have owing after taking seven years to complete that Bachelor’s degree in 18th C. Belgian Lesbian and Transexual Musicology.

David Stockman, Reagan’s Budget Dir. (remember Reagan? Back when we had a functioning economy?) wrote today: As we detailed previously, with lower credit scores, less disposable income, and a soaring number of people living with their parents; so it should be no surprise that The National Association of Realtors (NAR) today admitted that first-time homebuyers plunged to the lowest level in 27 years. http://davidstockmanscontracorner.com/why-housing-is-dead-first-time-buyers-collapse-to-27-year-lows/?utm_source=wysija&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Mailing+List+PM+Monday

Not mentioned in this article is that Ron Klain, Obungler’s Ebola czar, played a part in the 2008 housing bust. What? You expected something competent from Obungler?

      33. STOP with this already ….it’s obvious by now that a collapse isn’t happening but other things are in the works !!!

      34. Why vote when no truth choice is on the ballot. Do you really think the GOP gaining control of the senate will change anything for the good for American’s. The citizen’s decline will not be reversed in America. The American voter’s are deeply brainwashed to vote either side of the corrupt duopoly, where no differences exist in whatever the outcome may be. In 2016 it will be Bush vs Clinton again, Jeb vs Hillary. How can any knowledgeable person cast a vote for either of these two lying criminals? They are the accepted candidates for the treasonous usurpers of our Constitutional form of government. They will protect their predecessor’s criminal crimes against America and it’s people. They are responsible for murderous crimes themselves. The proof is out in the public record. Voter’s will continue their support for this ugly pathetic criminal process. You can bet your last dollar on that and you would win. It is insanity of the highest order.

        • Maybe it will all go up in flames before that,,,
          Executive amnesty for 5,000,000-10,000,000-15,000,000,-20-30,000,000
          Million illegal aliens???
          Why
          In
          The
HELL should we just go along to get along with that fucking garbage?????????????

        • Who pulls the strings behind these puppets? Where do the marching orders come from?

The vicious always take from the weak…it is human nature. Psychopaths who feel it is their best interest to control everything always rise to the top. Thus we get the warmongering .gov we have.

It appears to be a tribal thing. Strong tribes always pillage weaker ones. The US corporate .gov will continue to pillage and kill for the best resources the world over until eventually another tribe of some sort becomes stronger and then death and destruction will visit the US.

It pretty much has always been this way and will always be this way.

Ever hear of the Project for a New American Century (PNAC)? I’m sure you have. Ever since G.H.W.Bush there has been a high level signatory of the PNAC in the executive branch.

PNAC advocated for a “new Pearl Harbor” and got it with 9-11. They advocated the invasion and destabilization of the Middle East to secure oil. They got it.

Looks like the next president (Jeb Bush) will also be one of these PNAC signatories. Look forward to more death and mayhem.

GHW Bush – Dan Quayle signatory
          Bill Clinton- Madeline Albright signatory
GW Bush – Dick Cheney signatory
Barack Obama – Joe Biden signatory

          • It’s a fricking ENTROPY thing. You can thank physics for that one.

        • “Do you really think the GOP gaining control of the senate will change anything for the good for American’s.”

The only reason I generally bother to vote is to preserve the 2nd Amendment. “Generally” and historically Republicans are more inclined to stand behind it while Democrats are more inclined to attack it. I have held my nose on so many occasions going into the voting booth choosing the lesser of evils that I should have a clothes pin designated just
          for that job.

If given a choice I’ll take a Libertarian stand on other issues like the Florida Amendment 2 (not to be confused with the Second Amendment in our Bill of Rights) which will legalize medical marijuana.

“In 2016 it will be Bush vs Clinton”

Make that a double clothes pin and some Vix Vapor Rub in each nostril.

      35. There isn’t going to be a major economic collapse in the US anytime soon, if ever.

        Why?

Because the Deep State, the military/security/intelligence pod who hold real power [Stalin’s question: How many divisions does The Pope have?] won’t allow it.

Why not? Because their assets are dollar denominated too. They haven’t worked all their lives doing something they believe to be honorable to see a bunch of vermin screw this country. And them too. What will happen instead is the Deep State will throw Wall Street under the bus. Wouldn’t ya love to see the bankster vermin digging ditches in a FEMA camp?

The presidential appointees and highest ranking general staff may be more or less immune to an economic disaster. But the full colonels and GS-15s who provide the technical know how for them to rule would be decimated. The couple of million useful underlings who have the knowledge base that enables their power. No knowledgeable underlings, no power.

The Deep State scorns Wall Street. Views them as expendable parasites.

There’s an honor difference between the Service Academy Deep State and the Ivy League weasels of Wall Street.

Many in the Deep State have put their lives on the line for this country. Bled for it. The Hahverd and Yail crowd has not.

The Deep State will be happy to tell the Goldman Sucks crowd to suck it up when the leveraged debt finally blows up.

So by all means prepare. Be skeptical of pronouncements, including mine. But don’t live in fear unless you get your kicks that way.

        • Canary … I hope you’re right. One question, if the deep state is really running the country and can see that it’s going in the wrong direction, as directed by Wall St. and their puppets in DC, why haven’t they taken anyone out yet?

          • Captain Nail gun…?

        • Sorry but Rome had a deep state too. They might be the most powerful group now but they aren’t all powerful.

What we can hope for and should plan for is similar to what a roman citizen in 350-400 AD should’ve planned for. It will not collapse equally everywhere and at the same rate. The eastern empire continued on for another 1000 years, and in some areas of the rest things remained pretty good for some time. Most areas saw tremendous loss of life, decline in standards of living and life expectancy. They didn’t call them the dark ages because the sun was dim.

Yet western civilization was preserved, and for some maintained.

          Keep your powder dry.

          • You have the Master / Servant relationship backwards.

      36. Did anyone see the amount of money spent by Kay Hagan and Thom Tillis for the North Carolina Senate ? It was reported to be in excess of 100 million for a job that pays 174k.

        • They didn’t spend most of that money. Harry Reid’s people and others spent the money. None of the mounds of trash I have gotten in the mail this year said that it was paid for by the candidates’ re-election committees. It was all outside organizations.

They don’t care about the $174K. It’s the power and multiple millions they are after.

      37. Warren Pollock is interviewed with Greg Hunter on http://www.usawatchdog.com on this subject and more..it is a 30 minute video and covers the economy, coming war, which countries side up with who, the oil situation…It is just a very informative interview.. go to the website..interview is today, Nov. 3rd…read about it…and scroll on down to where it says continued..and at the end you see the video…very important to watch and listen to…really thought his description of people being like the people who lived near Pompei was “spot on”.They lived in denial until the volcano erupted…and were entombed in their homes…he really gives a very eye opening interview…

      38. The author makes a huge misrepresentation about the leverage of the banks when comparing “assets” to “derivative” exposure. Those “assets” of the banks are largely comprised of the customers’ deposits, not true assets of the banks “retained earnings” and “capital”. The banks are gambling with OUR money, (I wanted to say “folks”, but that is a favorite saying of Obama, therefore I will no longer use that term).

      39. I have a feeling that Charlie Crist will win in Florida.

We have too many closet Yankee’s.

        • Charlie Crist will win with all the Closet Pot Smokers across both parties. Its a shoe in. We call it the “Puff-Puff-Pass-it Vote.

          • WWTI

            Yes pot over jobs.

            • Why should there be a choice between the two? Why should a cancer victim that has no appetite receive morphine for pain but be arrested for pot to get the “munchies” and continue eating? Its beyond laughable to have 12 year old scotch legal and marijuana illegal. That drug sure harmed the likes of Steve Jobs.

Libertarian, root word Liberty. Translation, leave me alone unless and until my actions have a direct tangible negative effect upon you.

        • The commercial of Scott pleading the 5th about 50 times was damaging.

In my almost 60 years I never seen a political race from both sides so based upon, “He is a bigger crook than me”.

Its sad that we’re faced with such obvious poor choices.

      40. I read in san Francisco I think it was , hotly contested race , one tribe backed every single candidate, just so they could tell whoever won , what to do . if voting was really able to change anything, they would make it illegal . etc etc etc

        • I just want to see if there’s a cage match over Obamacare. That’s all.

The Dems utterly and miserably failed to do anything about domestic spying and the Patriot Act, despite their promises.

I’d vote Repub just as an experiment to make sure it goes both ways. It almost certainly does but I just wanna see it.

      41. Mean while at the Clever home.

Boys get out your winter jackets its going to be a cold winter.

        Colder then last year.

        • Ward, weren’t you a little hard on the Beaver last night?

      42. Well all I can do is hope it last til February got some preps but been slowed down a lot by a broken truck and water well pump but come income tax refund time I’m getting out of debt that’s the only good think about being the sole provider for my wife and three sons so yeah let the collapse wait til febuary or March so I can be in a better situation

      43. a major financial collapse may or may not happen

but most certainly a moral collapse already has

Video: Police Cite, Threaten Arrest of 90-Year-Old Volunteer For Feeding the Homeless
        http://www.prisonplanet.com/video-police-cite-threaten-arrest-of-90-year-old-volunteer-for-feeding-the-homeless.html

meanwhile high government officials go before Congress and lie with their every word and no penalty is paid

politicians are bought and sold like street corner whores and no penalty is paid

Wall Street continues to loot the country and literally commit millions of felonies and no penalty is paid

but hand a homeless guy a sandwich and the SWAT team shows up

        sad
        sad day for America

      44. I live in Texas on the coast in a strong economic area as my old boss use to say we live and die with the chemical plants so as long as their doing good this area will stay off economic crisis but still when I see people I know my age mid 30s we use say we we’re doing good now everyone just says we’re trying to make it

      45. Two preppery items of interest:

        1. After “The Walking Dead” last night, on “The Talking Dead,” a guest was joking that she was a “soft prepper.” She had a bag of beans from Costco, and something else I didn’t hear. Just an example of prepping becoming mainstream, but still semi-mocked.

        2. A young friend who is taking computer classes at a local college said that on Halloween his professor said “Today we’re going to talk about something that’s actually important.” He went on to tell them that the new projections for the U.S. population number in 2025 is half of what the population is today, so some huge event is apparently going to occur. The “good” news is, most of the class was already aware of that fact.

      46. I have to say, to everyone here at the ‘plan’ we all need to work together to make it out to the other side. I can be a SOB in some respects, but we all are to some degree. Please email me to the posts above, and I WILL RESPOND. It is no problem, and I am not a Russian spy, spammer, or a jerk, [email protected], if you want to correspond to others, Just trying to be an asset to the site. Which we all need to be, if you catch my drift…
Bless everyone here, if I can say that…..

      47. “Sometimes in life you just gotta say ‘f*ck it!’, And just pull the trigger!”

        .f.

      48. Yeah, I used to drink this cool-aid about a collapse.
Half a decade passed and all is well.

They will just keep printing and inventing money.

I’m do waiting for doom christmas.

        Moving on.

      49. just the same old story with a different title, someone should find some new material

      50. Well, people are usually inclined not to believe negative things until they happen. But I wouldn’t expect sudden crash, more of a slow and steady deterioration.

      51. 50% plus of my income goes to pay taxes and they taxes start in the fields in the form of land taxes and are past up the chain so that eating food on a plate has about 70% tax added to the cost.

Then another 30% of my income goes to feed bankers for the loan that i needed for a bit of mud to build a house on and call home and it is our own land they are selling us at these silly prices.

Throw in all the extras like medical costs and insurance and i only get to keep 10% of my hard earned income.

Yes time to riot because this sheep is tired of the fixed game where bankers and politicians live like lords on our earnings, time to burn the house down

      52. It can’t and won’t crash overnight like many keep saying. The reason is because most trading is now down by computers, and just as when one thing starts crashing, other algos and computers kick in and reverse the trend line.

Two things protect the current system: one is the market traders, and in particular the black box, high-frequency traders who ensure market stability/equilibrium when something starts to crash. The other backstop is the plunge protection team at the Fed Reserve, who also intervene straight away.

Instead, what you will see is decay. Traders cannot do anything about people getting stupider, or bad government or corrupt politicians, or somebody who goes out and places a bet rather than saves that money. Human failure is the biggest problem. All the economic problems since 1999 have been a result of human greed and stupidity. Think of all the idiots out there who feel entitled to a monster home yet earn just $25,000 a year? We have now too many lazy, entitled people who think they deserve things rather than need to save for and earn things. It isn’t the markets that have caused this: the markets just provide the credit and of course exploit people’s innate stupidity and greed. We need the markets otherwise we would be no richer than some sad sack in a Lagos slum. As one trader said in the film Margin Call, “I keep my hand on the scales so that you can live like you do in the West. If I remove my hand, things getting really f#cking fair, really f#cking fast.”

      53. Every 30 years or so, the Masters cull a bit of the population. In WWI over 37 million people were culled. In WWII, from 50 million to 70 million people were culled. It is now time to cull some more of the population as the Masters feel there are (Henry Kissinger quote) …too many “Useless Feeders”.

There are many ways to cull the population. War has been, in the past, the easiest, most used method. Disease and starvation take out many “Useless Feeders” during wars and the Masters increase their wealth by profiting from the war machines they own (factories, mining companies, etc).

Economic collapse has been planned because the “Baby Boomers” have reached retirement age. The slaves that produced massive wealth and stored their retirement with the government will find it gone with an economic collapse. NO MORE SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENTS! The Masters have transferred that wealth into their vaults in the form of gold. The slaves that survive, won’t see a penny.

These Masters think no more of eliminating a “Useless Feeder” than they do of stomping a cockroach beneath their foot…..for that is what we are to them.

        • While I hope and pray you are right, I just don’t think it will happen: there is too much money made selling things to the ‘useless eaters’. Look at how global capitalism is now totally focused on selling things to the third world. More is more as they see it.

Having a global war won’t work anymore because of the technologies available today. At most, you can have a ‘beheaders’ feast’ like we see in the Middle East, but if those guys get too big for their boots, then the B-52s will start getting to work. Bioweapons, just as they get to work, the army of do-gooders are deployed and then it is stopped.

Civil unrest tends to also be curtailed past a certain point.

The sort of desired mass culling the planet needs just won’t happen. What I see is a future for all of us of a GMO-infused bowl of nutritionally vapid pot noodles slurped down between endless shifts in a digital hellhole before you die of cancer or some horrid environmental disease at the age of 35. That’s how they will do it. In the future, if you get to the age of 50, you are a high-level intellectual in the New World Order. Getting to 120 (entirely possible) will require entering the top 1 per cent of society in terms of wealth and intelligence. The 99 per cent will be offed before the age of 35 with this possible exception: genetically engineered female ‘sex bots’ of all races: the prettiest and most desirable creatures ever created will be traded for a high price for pleasure. They will also be attritioned but not before selecting the best for reproduction and ‘eternal accompaniment’ for the ‘sages’: as in, women who more or less keep their looks well into their 60s and can still perform in the bedroom.

      54. Frank, sounds a bit like the setting for Logans Run,difference is,I will not be running but fighting and probably dying,ah well.

      55. I’ve been prepping and working towards self sufficiency for along time now. One thing I have noticed, as long as they can continue milking the cow there will NEVER be a collapse.

      56. It’s hard to know how to fight this, but I have some simple ideas that could help.

A sociopath test. Everyone who wants to be a CEO, President, or in any position of authority, must take a test to prove they are not a sociopath.

Another idea – no one on the PLANET is allowed to have more than $1 billion dollars. If you amass more than that, it has to go to a charity.

Flawed ideas, I know… but for God’s sake people, we need to do something, and stop talking about fucking Jews and chemtrails..

If we address those two issues, we address the source of the problem – and the human race has been dealing with the sociopath problem for thousands of years. They brought down Atlantis, Rome, and every other civilization we have ever built. Our PRIMARY goal should be to find a way to keep sociopaths from positions of power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        • Problem is people love sociopaths: just look through history. People are drawn to them like moths to a flame – Hitler, Mao, Stalin, etc. Look at Canada: they are freaking out because one of their most loved radio broadcasters is really a woman beater and sex pest: a classic sociopath. Sociopaths not only destroy things they also create wealth and build things. Hitler was a great wealth creator and builder up until he made the mistake of waging war on the world. At the start of WWII, Germany was the most advanced society on the planet, with the best technology, science and military.

In some ways, our problem right now is not too many sociopaths, but the lack of an environmental sociopath willing to do what is necessary to preserve the planet and give humanity a chance of long-term survival. Most of the Greens are just too wooly and fluffy; I wouldn’t say kind, but not with the chutzhpah to make a new world.

A Green Hitler is required: somebody who can charismatically rally people around and who would charge ahead without consideration for the whiners.

          • I like being a carbon unit infestation. No thanks to some nut case that wants to “cull the herd” (omitting themselves of course) or dramatically reducing the standard of living (omitting themselves of course).

            I’ll pass.

            Nuts are well…..nuts.

      57. GMOS vs. Transgenic

Human beings have been genetically modifying plants for thousands of years. Like good old Gregor Mendel and his pea plants. Genetically modifying plants through selective breeding is not harmful.

BUT, what Monsanto and their ilk is doing is called TRANSGENIC.

When you put jellyfish genes into a plant (just one example), you create something that Mother Nature never intended. Sometimes it may turn out fine, but other times, that shit can make us sick and give us cancer. There was a French study on GMO corn that had some pretty scary results.

      58. FT – I get your logic, but I don’t believe that a ‘green Hitler’ could ever exist. Sociopaths are built to only care about their best interests, and under our current system, fucking over the environment is ALWAYS in the best interests of the individual.

I agree on how people are so drawn to sociopaths, though… how do we fix that? And why did Mother Nature make them in the first place? There may be a higher percentage of them in the western world now, but they have always shown up, all the way back to the beginnings of recorded history.

So what the hell are they for????

      59. Not one person has ever died from a “GMO.” Millions of people have died however from starvation. And polio, tuberculosis, and whooping cough. The anti “GMO” libs are also the exact same guys who will not vaccinate.

The libs want big govt. to label everything, to put a stigma on it. Instead, they can label their own “organic” products, if they actually are what they say they are, saving everyone the trouble and keeping big govt. out of everyone elses lives.
