The communist mayor of New York City has announced plans to literally steal the property of landlords he doesn’t like in the big apple. The city government would be allowed to steal the buildings of landlords who force tenants out. De Blasio’s opponents say this plan amounts to “straight communism,” and that’s a fact.
Bill De Blasio in his State of the City address on Thursday, announced he wants to take action against landlords who try to force tenants out by making the property unliveable, according to a report by Fox News. He then pulled out an executive order to create a Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants. He said that in the event the government intervenes, the buildings would then be controlled by a “community nonprofit.” But theft is still theft. There’s no morality behind De Blasio’s plan.
“When a landlord tries to push out a tenant by making their home unlivable, a team of inspectors and law enforcement agents will be on the ground to stop it in time,” he said, according to the New York Daily News. “If the fines and the penalties don’t cut it, we will seize their buildings and we will put them in the hands of a community nonprofit that will treat tenants with the respect they deserve.”
“My first reaction was: Is this communist Cuba?” state Assemblymember Nicole Malliotakis, who ran against De Blasio in the 2017 mayoral race, told Fox News. “ I can say that as a daughter of Cuban refugees who fled Castro’s Cuba in 1959, this is what happened to her family, she had her home taken, my grandfather had his gas station taken.” Malliotakis added, “This is extreme even for Mayor de Blasio because we know that he has socialist leanings, but this is straight communism and I think it’s very scary to America-loving, democracy-loving people.”
This should be condemned by literally every human on earth, whether they vote republican or democrat. No human ever has the right to steal the property of another human. And that extends to the humans who think they are gods in government.
Malliotakis also said that the proposal was highly hypocritical of the mayor, as she says the city runs some of the worst housing in the country via the NYC Housing Authority. She also expressed some doubt as to how his plan to seize property would fare. “Any attempt to seize property will face a court challenge and the mayor himself comes up with these ideas, throws stuff out there and doesn’t know how he intends to make it happen,” she said. “It’s all rhetoric.”
But De Blasio’s plans are more of a “communism for everyone” and until good people stand up and refuse to be controlled by the government, dictators like De Blasio will continue to use force and violence against them.
This behavior results from long-term leftist governance. Remember the previous N.Y.C. Mayer, Bloomberg, wanted to tell you what size drink you could buy. THOUGHT POLICE, omission of individual rights, forget about property rights, etc., are gifts from the “Progressive” leftists. Vote with a ballot or you will surely vote (choose a side) n a civil war.
The American people have been warned this, and everything else marxist, was coming, for the last 50+ years. And, people chose to look the other way, rather than face it, and deal with it.
The last election, of Donald Trump, was the last chance at the ballot box. Even if a real patriot could be elected, you see what lengths the marxists will go to to stop it. And, there will be millions more illegals to “vote” left next time. You all had your chance.

As a landlord of 16 properties myself…who happens to be politically ultra-conservative…my first reaction to this article is not what the mayor is attempting to do, but who are these freaking landlords that would treat people this way by making their own property inhospitable to their tenants. Tenants are my “customers” and my desire is to make them happy…not run my own property down. That said…I’m not endorsing what the mayor is attempting to do. I just wanted to point out the other side.

Having been both a tenant and a “landlord”, I see your point.
I think of my tenants as people on vacation who want a comfortable place to stay. I don’t think rent controlled NYC fits that narrative.
I once looked at buying two section 8 homes. The tenants were terrified of me, the possible new landlord. There was thousands of dollars of repairs required and it is hard to rebuild a kitchen or bathroom(two most trashed places in most homes) with a house full of small kids, so I passed on the deal.
Being a landlord is a thankless situation anyway you put it.
It is even worse when you have government interference.
Throw people out on the steets, make more homeless. I have no problems with the mayor doing this. Enough is enough, regardless of how communist it is. Most people crying communism probably cant even afford a car repair so just stfu.

At one time a man was required to own property in order to vote. I now see why it was considered necessary. Nonprofit is a way wealthy people control their wealth without the burden of taxation. This is then a transfer
from the rightful owner to another rich person. Not a good thing.

Like the article said theft is still theft no matter what label someone else puts on it whether it be eminent domain, civil asset forfeiture, etc. Anyone tries to forcibly take anything from me they will get themselves hurt. I would hope there’s still some SENSIBLE people in the big apple who will stand up and challenge it.

This is communism, pure and simple. Communists say it is about protecting the working people (what they call the masses) from the exploitation of capitalists, wealthy land owners, religion, etc. What it’s really about is a small class of ‘elites’ accumulating and concentrating all state, political, social, and economic power for themselves. In ALL previous and current communist nations the ‘elite’ live like kings while the people live like penned sheep. The ‘elites’ enjoyed uninhibited luxurious lifestyles, power, and privilege that the masses could never have access to, never be allowed to have. The practitioners of communism, though made to appear humane will ultimately employ any tactics, means, or methods to achieve and maintain power including unbridled mass murder, gulags, terror, and the complete and total elimination of civil rights. Recent history amply shows this. In reality, there are no moral elements in communist doctrine, no concepts of right and wrong, and it disregards common natural human rights, instincts, and decency. Only what is expedient, only what is ultimately best for the state and the party (‘elites’). For communism to exist it always requires a dumbed-down population where independent thought and individualism has been largely eliminated, with large doses of propaganda and force added.
This is what half of America wants now. They have been reduced to unthinking automatons voting for those who would turn the US into another USSR. Communism always starts out saying they represent ‘the little guy’ that has no voice or power. The masses they sway are nothing more than disposable useful idiots. (After the Russian Revolution was complete millions of these useful idiots were eventually shot or placed in labor camps as they no longer served any purpose to the party elite.) Communism is the worst hypocrite. They have committed racism, mass butchery and starvation, and ethnic cleansing on a scale rivaling nazism and even exceeding that, all in the name of proletarianism and egalitarianism of course, and which appears to be okay if communists do it, especially to Christians. The Bolsheviks and Soviet communism exterminated more than 40 million Russian Orthodox Christians.
The culprits have employed corrupted democracy, capitalism, and communism to concentrate wealth and power and wreck societies. Do some research, you can find out who they are. Who want you powerless with vastly limited civil rights, and basically enslaved to debt, if not outright extermination.
You are so right. I always say that if these Socialists/Communists want their utopia here on earth they can have a good start by getting rid of their wealth. They should keep just enough to get by on for the city in which they live. Give away most of their savings to the poor and just keep a little for a rainy day. But they never even consider this do they? They want to tax the working person till he/she is poor. They want to build paradise with your money and property. The paradise always turns into hell for the commoner. It baffles me that the commoner can’t see the hypocrisy in what Socialists/Communists say compared to what they do.
The value of income-earning property is based on the future income stream. When you cap the rents and effectively give the tenants assured occupancy, you reduce the value of the properties. This is property theft. What the mayor is doing is just further theft.

Yeah, but he has no problem with President Trump stealing land and people’s homes, some of it generational land, from the rightful owners in Eminent Domain takeovers for the border wall. A wall that can’t possibly be be built for $5 bill. Add a few zeros. $5 bill this year, $20 bill next year and on and on.
Jared Kushner and his wealthy family own a lot of rental properties throughout NYC. They are well known for being slumlords. Jared will not repair or address any issues. He turns a blind eye to all of it and his tenants suffer as a result. And early last year many of his now former tenants in one of his many buildings were forced out due to heavy construction noise and construction dust when he had a section of one of the buildings torn apart and renovated. Several tenants ended up in the hospital. He didn’t even pay the violations fines.
Arrogant, bald-faced liar Kushner responds to nothing and makes good on nothing. He doesn’t want to hear a word his tenants are saying. He will not respond. He just cashes their monthly rental checks. All of these are well known facts there among the locals. The Kushners = Slumlords.
Lets see if the Communist Dictator NYC Mayor goes after that crime family. Doubt it. Wealthy corrupt people cover up the corruption of other wealthy corrupt people. That’s why the endless corruption has spread like a cancer.
With rent control, it is hard to maintain properties when cost of everything else goes up but the rents are suppressed. It also causes an artificial housing shortage. You end up with delopodated properties next to new construction properties that are nicer.
Patrick, except Kushner had those rent-controlled tenants forced out, using a variety of tactics, and then re-rented the units of many of his NYC buildings for more than double the previous rent. He’s had hundreds of legitimate law suits filed against him. Kushner is not the decent, trustworthy person/businessman he portrays to be, and yet there he sits in the WH next to the most powerful man in the world. He has the ear of the most powerful man, enormous influence over him, yet he’s an untrustworthy snake. Something we should all be aware of.
Who put the communist in? Everybody knew he was a communist so how did he get in?

Bob 16 properties(above) probably has his properties in an area where the tenants PAY their rent! We had a 6 unit building that ended up section 8. At first all went OK. Then we found too many cars in the parking lot. Relatives and friends of the tenants now were living in the apartments with the tenants on the lease! As many as 12 people living in a one bedroom apt! We were completely unable to evict the squatters due to screwed up regulations on giving fair time to find housing. We finally abandoned the property and took as much of it on our taxes as we could. (the city now owns the property and it is an abandoned eye sore trash heap!) We lost our savings in the affair. The tenants are NOT ALWAYS THE GOOD GUYS! DON’T RENT TO POOR PEOPLE, PERIOD!
President Trump has been stealing private property since the 1980s and even unto recently. Trump even stole the gorgeous and fertile lands and water rights from several generational Scottish farm families in Scotland. They were 3 farm generations living there at the time of the hostile takeover of their land and water rights, and the land had been passed down for 6 generations. Trump comes along out of the blue, back in the Summer of 2016, and steals it right out from under them for his Scotland Golf Course. Many of the victimized families were left in tears. His own people! That was the only life they knew.
It was terrible. He didn’t care one bit. All he cared about was his new Golf Course and generating more money. It wasn’t fake news. It was all over the news sources there and Trump didn’t deny it.
FYI, Trump is also in favor of Civil Asset Forfeiture.
He’ll do nothing to put a stop to it which obviously means he’s in favor of it, and going forward anyone can become a victim of that legalized extortion scheme at any time. No one is immune. I can see that escalating, getting worse than it already is, not better.
