While Americans celebrate Christmas, the Senate was hard at work voting on the health care bill.

At 7:16 a.m., the Senate passed on a 60-39 party line vote a sweeping health care bill that will tighten insurance regulations, provide insurance for 31 million more Americans and cost $871 billion over the next decade.

“This is for my friend Ted Kennedy, aye,” said Sen. Robert Byrd as he cast his vote.

Republican leader Mitch McConnell responded: “This fight isn’t over. My colleagues and I will work to stop this bill from becoming law. That’s the clear will of the American people — and we’re going to continue to fight on their behalf.”

The final law has not been enacted, but it looks like it may be inevitable at this point.

This is a Christmas present America will regret for generations to come.

      1. Yeah, its kind of like Merry Christmas to our face as they plunge the knife deep into our backs.

Next fall, we’ll get to say “…and a Happy New Senate! …and House!”

Be sure you’re registered to vote.

      2. Well, then a very cynical Merry Christmas! …as they twist the knife up under our ribs.

      3. Anyone who is hoping for any help from the Supreme Court had better change hope for somthing else .  I get the feeling that the court won’t touch this or ,  its now so liberal that it will rubber stamp this mess . Just my humble opinion folks !

      4. …and another thought…the only thing that the GOP can do now is wait until thay get a majority (And eventually thay will ) then de-fund this bill and everything in it and add so many regulations to water it down as to make the whole thing worthless .  and hammer every bill comming out of the whitehouse to the point that bho will regret that he sees the light of a new day because of what he will have to put up with from the GOP.  Then mabye just mabye we can take our country back .
