According to researchers at EMPact America, an organization dedicated to studying and preparing for the possibility of large-scale electro magnetic pulse threats that can destroy our modern day electrical infrastructure, the earth came dangerously close to a serious destabilization event. A couple of weeks ago the sun emitted a massive CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) that, had it been earth-directed, would likely have wiped out critical portions of the world’s power grid and sent developed nations back to the stone age within a matter of seconds.
‘The world escaped an EMP catastrophe,’ Henry Cooper, who now heads High Frontier, a group pushing for missile defence, told Washington Secrets.
‘There had been a near miss about two weeks ago, a Carrington-class coronal mass ejection crossed the orbit of the Earth and basically just missed us,’ added Peter Vincent Pry, who served on the Congressional EMP Threat Commission.
‘Basically this is a Russian roulette thing,’ he said. ‘We narrowly escape from a Carrington-class disaster.’
It was a “Carrington-Class” event, named after the 1859 incident that left telegraphs around the world inoperable and reportedly even lit some of the equipment on fire because of the electric surge.
Solar flares are measured in classes, and though “Carrington” is not an official classification on the scale, it refers to a solar emission so powerful that it would send Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights as they are often called, as far down as the equator (as was the case with the 1859 event). This means that the size of the solar flare would be massive, and the charged particles contained within it would be widespread, likely affecting every non-shielded electronic device on the planet.
The original Carrington event is estimated to have been larger than an X10 Class flare – a super solar flare. The measurements work similar to the earthquake Richter scale, where the next level up is 10 times more powerful than the one before it. An X1 flare, which is the lowest level of the X flares, is capable of disrupting electronic devices like satellites and even mobile communications. And X2 flare, would be ten times as powerful as the X1.
A Carrington Event flare would exceed X10 Class, making it thousands of times more powerful than an X1, with the capability of disrupting, or even rendering inoperable, everything from electric grid transformers and water utility plants, to cell phones and vehicles.
Though such powerful flares as the one that almost hit earth two weeks ago are rare, they happen more often than you may think. In November of 2003 an X28 Class solar flare – the largest ever recorded – narrowly missed earth.
Were such a powerful electro magentic pulse to hit hit the earth and wipe out critical infrastructure elements like utilities, satellite positioning systems and transportation, civilization as we know it would devolve into chaos within a matter of hours. Estimates suggest that in such a scenario 90% of America’s population would perish within one year’s time due to lack of food, clean water, medicine and other critical services currently made possible by on-demand electrical infrastructure.
Former Congressman Roscoe Bartlett has warned that every American should develop an emergency plan for exactly such a scenario:
“We don’t really think of those today, because it’s so convenient to go to the supermarket,” he cautions. “But you know, you’re planning because the supermarket may not always be there.”
The electrical grid could fail tomorrow, he frequently warns. Food would disappear from the shelves. Water would no longer flow from the pipes. Money might become worthless. People could turn on each other, and millions would die.

The grid could be crippled at least four different ways, Bartlett says: terrorist assaults on power substations, a cyberattack, a massive solar storm and an electromagnetic pulse attack.
Bartlett has for decades warned of the harm of an EMP attack — a nuclear detonation in the atmosphere that could fry computers and anything with an electric circuit — in his writings, in legislation and in late-night speeches on the House floor, though experts differ on the seriousness of the threat. Some agree the dangers are real, while others say such an attack is unlikely and the potential effects remain uncertain.

“Whatever level you’re concentrating on, being as self-sufficient as you can, as quickly as you can, is going to be the right thing to do,” he says.
Bartlett has suggested that those with the ability to do so should move their families out of major cities and become as self sufficient as possible:

Two weeks ago, had the sun spot that emitted the Carrington-like flare been directed just a few degrees in our direction, we’d be living in a different world today. Likewise, ten years ago, the earth took a glancing blow.
We have come close, and one day chances are an earth directed flare will take out our modern day electrical infrastructure.
It could happen a month from now or 10 years from now during the next solar maximum cycle. What we know is that it has happened before, and it will happen again.

Ginger will work for nausea.. but if it’s caused by bacteria; you either have to suffer or take something else. The active ingredient on Topron really works fast.

Most of the infections have been traced to bagged salads with a mixture of head lettuce and romaine with cabbage and carrots or radishes. The FDA has been reluctant to name any brands but officials from some areas of the Midwest reported that the salads “did not come from around here”.

First of all, folks —be careful with names.
Topron (nifuoxazide) is an antibacterial medication that is not used in the United States. It is used in some anti diarrheal compounds in Latin America and it is used in many other countries around the world. It is similar to but not the same as Nitrofurantoin that is used here in the US.
Toprol (metoprolol) is used to treat high blood pressure and recurring chest pain. It changes the way nerve impulses move through the heart and can cause the heart to beat more slowly. Although this medication might be needed in certain heart conditions, I do not like it very much because it can make the heart and circulation less responsive to demands of exercise.

I do not think tuna is safe to eat due to the mercury levels. This is sad because I love tuna. I still sneak it in sometimes but I try to do it only occasionally.
The tuna with the highest mercury tends to be yellowfin but most tuna producers do not label their products so there is no way of knowing what is in it.
Other fish with high levels of mercury are swordfish, shark, and king mackerel. These fish feed on other fish and the mercury becomes concentrated in their tissue. But note that we can also concentrate mercury in our tissues by eating lots of the smaller fish even if we don’t eat tuna. Almost all ocean fish have some mercury in their systems according to some studies.
The North eastern part of the United States has been shown to have mercury entering the inland wildlife population. Birds that eat fish such as loons are strongly affected.
There are areas where mercury has become gaseous from burning coal. The mercury is then absorbed by plants leaves. Worms and insects feed on the plant debris and then contaminate bird populations. There are studies showing high mercury levels in songbirds, high enough to reduce reproduction. Other animals like bald eagles, mountain lions and otters have also had high mercury levels.

Tuna in California has tested positive for cesium-134 and cesium-37. These are contaminates from Fukushima. In one study, every Bluefin tested had some radioactivity. However, they also found that the fish could eliminate the cesium from their bodies by the muscle use needed to swim long distances.
The actual amount of radioactivity appears to be low. There are foods we eat every day that have higher levels of radio activity. If you want to get paranoid about radioactive food, here is the details.
Brazil nuts are the most radioactive food you can eat. They are about 5,600 more radioactive than any other foods, including the tuna. They contain potassium-40 and radium-226.
Foods with high potassium are all high in radioactivity due to the presence of potassium-40. This includes bananas and beer. Almost all food has a small amount of radioactivity, even if they are grown organically. We live on a radioactive planet with radioactive isotopes of potassium, radon, and other compounds all around us. That is why scientists talk about the level of background radiation.
I find it interesting that cat litter is also radioactive if it is made from clay or bentonite. These often contain isotopes of uranium, thorium, or potassium. Cat litter actually has enough radiation that it has set off radiation alerts at border checkpoints.
It appears that there is some radioactivity in sea food due to Fukushima but it is not the biggest concern when eating seafood. The radioactivity is actually fairly low. The big problem is levels of mercury.
Washington State DSHS has a Seafood guide for pregnant women that shows seafood in 3 categories from not so safe to ok to very good. It includes chunk light water packed tuna as very good. Albacore tuna is not ok. The issue has to do with heavy metal contaminants but another issue right now ( and maybe for years to come) is radiation. Radiation should never be ingested as it remains in the tissues and can do more harm internally than externally. Studies have been done on radiation in some Pacific seafood but it is not being publicized. I have heard a variety of reasons but they all end up being about $ rather than health or safety.
Another reason to grow your own. If you can.

I have commented on here (and other sites) about the horrors that await us with our ‘clean’ nuclear energy plants. These plants have mechanical and electronic systems in place to shut down the reactors, it is called a SCRAM. Nuclear reactors both PWR and BWR have onsite diesel backup generators to provide power for a certain amount of time. The big problem with those however, are the ignition and starting systems…they all use fairly modern components which are NOT heavily shielded against EMP. That makes them useless.
That in itself is only part of the problem. The bigger part is water flow. The onsite spent fuel pools contain used fuel rods from previous refuel cycles that are still quite ‘hot’ radioactively speaking. The pools are quite deep and require constant water and air exchange to keep water temps below 120 degrees. When you have no power to flow water, it heats up and up and up. Eventually it boils away and the rods are exposed with nothing to cool them down. This is where the dangers lie with ALL nuke plants…they are all ticking time bombs right here in our back yards. You thought Fukushima was bad? You ain’t seen nothing yet.

Howdy, BI, and I’ll be looking forward to that article; I LOVE your articles. On the topic, this is only one of many things we prepare for. There’s been a tremendous amount of speculation about the true effects of an EMP incident. The US has never suffered an EMP attack before so everything is really just pure speculation. However, I’m prepping for a worst-case scenario of us being thrown back into a 19th-century, pre-industrial age type of lifestyle. Presuming the worst-case scenario does happen, the lifestyles we all have now will be gone in a heartbeat and life will never be the same for any of us again. Life will become harder in many respects, but not impossible. I believe it’s possible to survive in a post-EMP world but it will take a tremendous amount of effort to do so. Life will become a supreme bitch and will become horrific for those who have not prepared. On occasion i do refer people to 2 articles you submitted last year, “How Horrific Will It Be For The Nonprepper?” and “Be Prepared To Defend What You Have”; I may not have that 2nd title correct. Everyone on any kind of life support and the tens of thousands of people who are on commerical aircraft in our skies every day will be the first to perish. In “One Second After”, in the final chapter, 1 year after the EMP it was estimated that only 30,000,000 people were left alive out of a total of 320,000,000 when the EMP hit and that was only an estimate. Space weather right now has a fact check on their web site right now that says that there was no Carrington type near miss. I didn’t think so because of the lack of evidence in the skies and because I have been carefully watching the Sun for just such a possible event. It is coming one day, that is for sure.

A CME emits charged particles that take 20 to 40 hours to reach the earth.
A Solar Flare emits X-Ray radiation and takes about 8 minutes to reach the earth.

John: It would be transformers that are exposed to the highest levels of these induced currents from a geomagnetic storm that would be the most at risk of being permanently damaged. In today’s world manufacturing marketplace, we really don’t have the ability to manufacture and replace large numbers of damaged transformers.
WE’RE LOOKING AT, IN THE CASE OF THE U.S. ALONE, SOMTHING LIKE THAT COULD TAKE 4 TO 10 YEARS TO RECOVER from, based on the amount of transformers that we think could be manufactured and made available to us.
And that might be a bit rosy because it assumes that somewhere a manufacturer will be unaffected by that storm and be able to begin manufacturing in a normal fashion. Under this sort of planetary event, I assume that we are probably making a rosy assumption that anybody would be able to resume any kind of normal functioning from a manufacturing standpoint.
John: These (high voltage transformers) are probably in the neighborhood of 300 or more. That would be a significant fraction of the total large extra-high voltage transformers in the US.
For perspective, in the US right now, on an annual basis, we probably manufacture less than 50 per year, or having manufacturing capability for less than 50 per year.
Of course we don’t have the manufacturing capability right now in the US to manufacture at the very highest voltage levels – 765 KV.
John: A lot of them are made in Brazil, Japan, Korea and so forth. They’re all non-domestic sources. …
John: These are tens of millions of dollars (cost) per unit.
The size of these are also enormous. They represent very significant logistical efforts to move and install these transformers. We’re talking about a three-phase unit that could weigh in the neighborhood of about 600 tons or more.
Under normal conditions it requires six months or more planning in logistical support to get that heavy piece of apparatus from wherever it’s being received off of some ship, inland, over the right roads and rail connections and bridge underpasses and all those other things that need to be considered.
Then it takes a highly skilled, highly trained crew to actually do the movement and installation of these. There’s only a limited amount of highly trained crews – the special shipment vehicles and things like that, that can handle these sort of things.
So even if we had these spares available, it would still mean weeks and weeks of effort to logistically move these things to the right locations…

There was a warning posted on June 22 at Steve Quayle of a ‘Martial law scenario coming from hundreds of law enforcement, military & intelligence agents.’
His friends in law enforcement and the military are being “trained for civil unrest when Martial Law is enacted.”
“They are being told that they have to have all of their training completed and equipment in place BY THE END OF AUGUST.”
Coincidence? Time will tell.

Not only that, the CIA’s remote viewing program is a real program that was headed up by Ed Dames. Ed Dames has made numerous appearances on various radio shows. He has numerous youtube clips. What you can say about Ed Dames is that he’s been making this prediction since 1998 or so but given different dates for when it will happen.

The fact that the linked site is a spoof site is no conspiracy and is completely true.
As for the link to Edward Snowden’s twitter page, I took a look. I am not familiar with twitter, but it appeared fake to me, at least I would hope that is not his real twitter account.
As for the rest of the mumbo jumbo about the remote viewing, etc. I never addressed those topics.

Talk of a Wake up Call…I finally found that General Geroge Patton’s Diray info I promiced somebody here(?) that I’d post if I can find it again. Ok I did so here is a few sections from a 1947 article, which I think is what the actual Book “Pattons Diary” from 1977 or so was based on. Talk of a wake up call eh! Patton Likley got Assaniated by usa fed govnt for his wakeup and further letters to Home on it!…Read it and then You decide if he was assainated or not…
George Patton was a highly decorated war hero from WWII who led the Third Army to victory in many campaigns. After the war, General Patton was tasked with control of the larger portion of American occupied Germany, and his job was to dole out justice to the newly defeated enemy. It was the summer of 1945, and after the end of the fighting, General Patton started to get a grip on what had really transpired around him.
As General Patton started to actually become acquainted with the defeated Germans and America’s Soviet allies, Patton finally realized what he was in the midst of, and his opinions about the war, and both our enemies and allies changed drastically. What Patton realized was recorded in his diary, and in letters to everyone from his family and friends, to other military and government personnel.
It’s a good thing that these writings were preserved, so that we could see how even America’s “most fightingest General” knew that something was wrong with the outcome of WWII. In those writings it is clear that Patton realized that these new “allies” of ours were more of a danger than the Germans ever were.
The rest of this article is a summary compiled by someone else from a book called the Patton Papers, published in 1947, which contained the diary entries, letters, and other writings.
On May 7, 1945, just before the German capitulation, Patton had a conference in Austria with U.S. Secretary of War Robert Patterson. Patton was gravely concerned over the Soviet failure to respect the demarcation lines separating the Soviet and American occupation zones. He was also alarmed by plans in Washington for the immediate partial demobilization of the U.S. Army. Patton said to Patterson: “Let’s keep our boots polished, bayonets sharpened, and present a picture of force and strength to the Red Army. This is the only language they understand and respect.” Patterson replied, “Oh, George, you have been so close to this thing so long, you have lost sight of the big picture.” Patton rejoined: “I understand the situation. Their (the Soviet) supply system is inadequate to maintain them in a serious action such as I could put to them. They have chickens in the coop and cattle on the hoof — that’s their supply system. They could probably maintain themselves in the type of fighting I could give them for five days. After that it would make no difference how many million men they have, and if you wanted Moscow I could give it to you. They lived on the land coming down. There is insufficient left for them to maintain themselves going back. Let’s not give them time to build up their supplies.
If we do, then . . . we have had a victory over the Germans and disarmed them, but we have failed in the liberation of Europe; we have lost the war!”
Patton’s urgent and prophetic advice went unheeded by Patterson and the other politicians and only served to give warning about Patton’s feelings to the alien conspirators behind the scenes in New York, Washington, and Moscow.
The more he saw of the Soviets, the stronger Patton’s conviction grew that the proper course of action would be to stifle communism then and there, while the chance existed. Later in May 1945 he attended several meetings and social affairs with top Red Army officers, and he evaluated them carefully. He noted in his diary on May 14: “I have never seen in any army at any time, including the German Imperial Army of 1912, as severe discipline as exists in the Russian army. The officers, with few exceptions, give the appearance of recently civilized Mongolian bandits.” And Patton’s aide, General Hobart Gay, noted in his own journal for May 14: “Everything they (the Russians) did impressed one with the idea of virility and cruelty.” Nevertheless, Patton knew that the Americans could whip the Reds then — but perhaps not later. On May 18 he noted in his diary:
“In my opinion, the American Army as it now exists could beat the Russians with the greatest of ease, because, while the Russians have good infantry, they are lacking in artillery, air, tanks, and in the knowledge of the use of the combined arms, whereas we excel in all three of these. If it should be necessary to fight the Russians, the sooner we do it the better.” Two days later he repeated his concern when he wrote his wife: “If we have to fight them, now is the time. From now on we will get weaker and they stronger.”
Having immediately recognized the Soviet danger and urged a course of action which would have freed all of eastern Europe from the communist yoke with the expenditure of far less American blood than was spilled in Korea and Vietnam and would have obviated both those later wars not to mention World War III — Patton next came to appreciate the true nature of the people for whom World War II was fought: the Jews.

General Geroge Patton’s Diary: Final Part II…..
Most of the Jews swarming over Germany immediately after the war came from Poland and Russia, and Patton found their personal habits shockingly uncivilized. He was disgusted by their behavior in the camps for Displaced Persons (DP’s) which the Americans built for them and even more disgusted by the way they behaved when they were housed in German hospitals and private homes. He observed with horror that “these people do not understand toilets and refuse to use them except as repositories for tin cans, garbage, and refuse . . . They decline, where practicable, to use latrines, preferring to relieve themselves on the floor.” He described in his diary one DP camp, “where, although room existed, the Jews were crowded together to an appalling extent, and in practically every room there was a pile of garbage in one corner which was also used as a latrine. The Jews were only forced to desist from their nastiness and clean up the mess by the threat of the butt ends of rifles. Of course, I know the expression ‘lost tribes of Israel’ applied to the tribes which disappeared — not to the tribe of Judah from which the current sons of bitches are descended. However, it is my personal opinion that this too is a lost tribe — lost to all decency.” Patton’s initial impressions of the Jews were not improved when he attended a Jewish religious service at Eisenhower’s insistence. His diary entry for September 17, 1945, reads in part –
“This happened to be the feast of Yom Kippur, so they were all collected in a large, wooden building, which they called a synagogue. It behooved General Eisenhower to make a speech to them. We entered the synagogue, which was packed with the greatest stinking bunch of humanity I have ever seen. When we got about halfway up, the head rabbi, who was dressed in a fur hat similar to that worn by Henry VIII of England and in a surplice heavily embroidered and very filthy, came down and met the General . . . The smell was so terrible that I almost fainted and actually about three hours later lost my lunch as the result of remembering it.”
These experiences and a great many others firmly convinced Patton that the Jews were an especially unsavory variety of creature and hardly deserving of all the official concern the American government was bestowing on them. Another September diary entry, following a demand from Washington that more German housing be turned over to Jews, summed up his feelings:
“Evidently the virus started by Morgenthau and Baruch of a Semitic revenge against all Germans is still working. Harrison (a U.S. State Department official) and his associates indicate that they feel German civilians should be removed from houses for the purpose of housing Displaced Persons. There are two errors in this assumption. First, when we remove an individual German we punish an individual German, while the punishment is — not intended for the individual but for the race.
Furthermore, it is against my Anglo-Saxon conscience to remove a person from a house, which is a punishment, without due process of law. In the second place, Harrison and his ilk believe that the Displaced Person is a human being, which he is not, and this applies particularly to the Jews, who are lower than animals.”
One of the strongest factors in straightening out General Patton’s thinking on the conquered Germans was the behavior of America’s controlled news media toward them. At a press conference in Regensburg, Germany, on May 8, 1945, immediately after Germany’s surrender, Patton was asked whether he planned to treat captured SS troops differently from other German POW’s. His answer was: “No. SS means no more in Germany than being a Democrat in America — that is not to be quoted. I mean by that that initially the SS people were special sons of bitches, but as the war progressed they ran out of sons of bitches and then they put anybody in there. Some of the top SS men will be treated as criminals, but there is no reason for trying someone who was drafted into this outfit . . .”
Despite Patton’s request that his remark not be quoted, the press eagerly seized on it, and Jews and their front men in America screamed in outrage over Patton’s comparison of the SS and the Democratic Party as well as over his announced intention of treating most SS prisoners humanely. With great reluctance, and only after repeated promptings from Eisenhower, he had thrown German families out of their homes to make room for more than a million Jewish DP’s — part of the famous “six million” who had supposedly been gassed — but he balked when ordered to begin blowing up German factories, in accord with the infamous Morgenthau Plan to destroy Germany’s economic basis forever. In his diary he wrote: “I doubted the expediency of blowing up factories, because the ends for which the factories are being blown up — that is, preventing Germany from preparing for war — can be equally well attained through the destruction of their machinery, while the buildings can be used to house thousands of homeless persons.” Similarly, he expressed his doubts to his military colleagues about the overwhelming emphasis being placed on the persecution of every German who had formerly been a member of the National Socialist party. In a letter to his wife of September 14, 1945, he said:
“I am frankly opposed to this war criminal stuff. It is not cricket and is Semitic. I am also opposed to sending POW’s to work as slaves in foreign lands (i.e., the Soviet Union’s Gulags), where many will be starved to death.” Despite his disagreement with official policy, Patton followed the rules laid down by Morgenthau and others back in Washington as closely as his conscience would allow, but he tried to moderate the effect, and this brought him into increasing conflict with Eisenhower and the other politically ambitious generals. In another letter to his wife he commented:
“I have been at Frankfurt for a civil government conference. If what we are doing (to the Germans) is ‘Liberty, then give me death.’ I can’t see how Americans can sink so low. It is Semitic, and I am sure of it.” And in his diary he noted:, “Today we received orders . . . in which we were told to give the Jews special accommodations. If for Jews, why not Catholics, Mormons, etc? . . . We are also turning over to the French several hundred thousand prisoners of war to be used as slave labor in France.
It is amusing to recall that we fought the Revolution in defense of the rights of man and the Civil War to abolish slavery and have now gone back on both principles.”
His duties as military governor took Patton to all parts of Germany and intimately acquainted him with the German people and their condition. He could not help but compare them with the French, the Italians, the Belgians, and even the British. This comparison gradually forced him to the conclusion that World War II had been fought against the WRONG people.
After a visit to ruined Berlin, he wrote his wife on July 21, 1945: “Berlin gave me the blues. We have destroyed what could have been a good race, and we are about to replace them with Mongolian savages. And all Europe will be communist. It’s said that for the first week after they took it (Berlin), all women who ran were shot and those who did not were raped. I could have taken it (instead of the Soviets) had I been allowed.”
This conviction, that the politicians had used him and the U.S. Army for a criminal purpose, grew in the following weeks. During a dinner with French General Alphonse Juin in August, Patton was surprised to find the Frenchman in agreement with him. His diary entry for August 18 quotes Gen. Juin: “It is indeed unfortunate, mon General, that the English and the Americans have destroyed in Europe the only sound country — and I do not mean France. Therefore, the road is now open for the advent of Russian communism.”
Later diary entries and letters to his wife reiterate this same conclusion. On August 31 he wrote: “Actually, the Germans are the only decent people left in Europe. it’s a choice between them and the Russians. I prefer the Germans.” And on September 2: “What we are doing is to destroy the only semi-modern state in Europe, so that Russia can swallow the whole.”
By this time the Morgenthauists and media monopolists had decided that Patton was incorrigible and must be discredited. So they began a non-stop hounding of him in the press, a la Watergate, accusing him of being “soft on Nazis” and continually recalling an incident in which he had slapped a shirker two years previously, during the Sicily campaign. A New York newspaper printed the completely false claim that when Patton had slapped the soldier who was Jewish, he had called him a “yellow-bellied Jew.” Then, in a press conference on September 22, reporters hatched a scheme to needle Patton into losing his temper and making statements which could be used against him. The scheme worked. The press interpreted one of Patton’s answers to their insistent questions as to why he was not pressing the Nazi-hunt hard enough as: “The Nazi thing is just like a Democrat-Republican fight.” The New York Times headlined this quote, and other papers all across America picked it up. The unmistakable hatred which had been directed at him during this press conference finally opened Patton’s eyes fully as to what was afoot. In his diary that night lie wrote: “There is a very apparent Semitic influence in the press. They are trying to do two things: first, implement communism, and second, see that all businessmen of German ancestry and non-Jewish antecedents are thrown out of their jobs. “They have utterly lost the Anglo-Saxon conception of justice and feel that a man can be kicked out because somebody else says he is a Nazi. They were evidently quite shocked when I told them I would kick nobody out without the successful proof of guilt before a court of law . . . “Another point which the press harped on was the fact that we were doing too much for the Germans to the detriment of the DP’s, most of whom are Jews. I could not give the answer to that one, because the answer is that, in my opinion and that of most nonpolitical officers, it is vitally necessary for us to build Germany up now as a buffer state against Russia. In fact, I am afraid we have waited too long.”
And in a letter of the same date to his wife: “I will probably be in the headlines before you get this, as the press is trying to quote me as being more interested in restoring order in Germany than in catching Nazis. I can’t tell them the truth that unless we restore Germany we will insure that communism takes America.”
Eisenhower responded immediately to the press outcry against Patton and made the decision to relieve him of his duties as military governor and “kick him upstairs” as the commander of the Fifteenth Army. In a letter to his wife on September 29, Patton indicated that he was, in a way, not unhappy with his new assignment, because “I would like it much better than being a sort of executioner to the best race in Europe.” On October 22 he wrote a long letter to Maj. Gen. James G. Harbord, who was back in the States. In the letter Patton bitterly condemned the Morgenthau policy; Eisenhower’s pusillanimous behavior in the face of Jewish demands; the strong pro-Soviet bias in the press; and the politicization, corruption, degradation, and demoralization of the U.S. Army which these things were causing. He saw the demoralization of the Army as a deliberate goal of America’s enemies: “I have been just as furious as you at the compilation of lies which the communist and Semitic elements of our government have leveled against me and practically every other commander. In my opinion it is a deliberate attempt to alienate the soldier vote from the commanders, because the communists know that soldiers are not communistic, and they fear what eleven million votes (of veterans) would do.”
In his letter to Harbord, Patton also revealed his own plans to fight those who were destroying the morale and integrity of the Army and endangering America’s future by not opposing the growing Soviet might: “It is my present thought . . . that when I finish this job, which will be around the first of the year, I shall resign, not retire, because if I retire I will still have a gag in my mouth . . . I should not start a limited counterattack, which would be contrary to my military theories, but should wait until I can start an all-out offensive . . . .” The End….
Indeed, one of Americas Greatest “Fightingest” Generals, George Patton, never made it back Home to the u.s.a as his Jeep got into a fender bender accident, which caused him minor injuries he was taken to hopsital for. He by then felt something was not ‘kosher” at recent events etc. He Died not long after his hospital stay.

Once war ended he had time to reflect, and realize things were vastly different than our Militaries were led to believe going into world war two. My dogs sleep a lot. Often they sleep during the day. If anything is amiss they immediately wake up they start barking. A setting hen went to squaking and the dogs barking.2 AM I went out and a 6 foot black snake had crawled into her nest and was eating her eggs. He wont do that anymore times. And the geese are also great watch dogs. Ive got a 6 foot tall chain link fence. Ive got a really stinky very mean large billy goat that I keep in here at present. When Im out and about I go in the barn through the back and put sweet feed in the stable to entice him and lock him up. He can really butt hard. however if he just rubs on you the stink is horrible. Ive been thinking of getting a cow Buffalo (Bison) to let in here for a guard animal. A cow buffalo will stomp and gore anyone let alone a relative or a stanger. And It could raise a tasty beefalo calf every year. I wouldnt want to eat the billy goat.
Hail screen & putting the chickens in will take care of that. Had the same thing happen. Dogs were going nuts and couldn’t get in. 00 buckshot took care of it but took one of my chickens.
We fasten all of our poultry except for the geese up at nite. Those geese are so mean nuthin is foolhardy enough to attack them. Our henhouse is varmit proof but not snake proof. The nest are made from 5 gal plastic buckets. I just caught the snake by hand right behind its head,Took my knife and cut its head off. fed it to the pigs. My wife told me you know there is another one they always come in pairs. A few days later I killed its mate. It way trying to climb up the side of the barm to get a nest of barn swallows.

Using a black angus bull is what I would do. The only problem we had with the black angus is that they like to put their head under the bottom wire of the fencing and lift it up, stretching it out. Grass is always greener on the other side… We had a fabulous black angus cow. She would let other babies feed off her. We would buy day old dairy calves. She accepted as many as could hang on. One would also be nursing under her tail – between her back legs. I guess that’s where the saying comes from, sucking hind tit. Would get dirty sometimes.

I wonder if a genny, maybe a couple of other smaller items could survive a solar flare/EMP if they were stored in a well grounded aluminum enclosure/shed.
Maybe even pour a concrete slab in it, and set the items up on old tires w/o rims, for insulation. The idea is to absorb the pulse with the enclosure and drag it into an earth ground, while keeping the items insulated from the electrical charge.

Disconnect the regulator module and bury it in a sealed steel box in damp dirt.
Take careful note of all connections and then short all the windings together and connect them to the frame of the genny. Connect the frame of the genny to an earth stake driven into damp dirt.
Enclose the genny in a conducting enclosure and connect the enclosure to the same earth stake.
That should do it.

I found “the one” about 30 years ago. Just a few nights ago we worked on a list of things to stock up on the next time we get to Sam’s. Peanut butter, TP, sugar, etc.
We’re trying to decide on where to put chickens next. They need to be far enough away so we can’t smell them or step in it, but close enough to keep them safe from local animals. We have an old chicken house that’s partly gone, and a biddy house that had been converted into a small shop many years ago. I think I can convert the biddy house into a chicken house big enough for 8 or 10 hens.
Sam’s is free for non-members this weekend–I read on a prepper site.

Better off building a new one, on a slab you can hose off, with a drain channel to outside collector for garden fertilizer. You need minimum of 24 hens to feed a family in eggs and meat, and enough to trade for desired items. Need enough space for the poultry and feed storage as well.

Maybe it’s just me, but all the media chatter on solar flares reminds me of all the terrorism chatter prior to 9-11.
History tells us that all fiat currencies eventually fail. Anyone with their eyes open can see that we, along with other countries, are about to be part of that history. There is no stopping the collapse of the dollar. The bankers and their puppet politicians who are responsible for this economic collapse will never accept responsibility for the mess they created. They need a great distraction!
Will that distraction be an EMP from a nuke? It’s quite possible in my mind.
Okay…..back to the basics, some items to consider:
* A wood fired rocket stove for cooking, canning, etc
* Wood heater for the house
* Lots of paper based knowledge for referencel
* Shovel, rake and hoe for gardening
* Axe and 2 man saw to collect and split wood for
heating / cooking
* Manual flour grinder
* Bike for transportation
* Non-hybrid seed
* Water filter and/or shallow well hand pump
* GUNS and AMMO
* Knives and sharpening stones
* Chickens, goats, rabbits, etc…
* Food supplies (whole wheat, oats,
powdered eggs/milk, seasoning,
canned goods, sugar, salt, etc)
* Candles
* Medical Kit
* Extra soap
* Water bath / Canner and lots of jars/lids
* Solar Dehydrator
Much more can be added, but this will hopefully get the complacent folks thinking.
2 shovels, 2 rakes, 2 hoes, 2 axes. And make sure they are good American made tools, if you have to go to yard sales or antique stores to find good ones. And maybe put away some extra handles.

You can track the Nork’s satellite, which as yet has an unknown or undisclosed payload (though they say it’s for “weather research”). Pay attention to it’s altitude. The experts on EMP’s have said the ideal altitude for an EMP attack would be ~300 miles.
This possibility is with us always, not just during solar maximum. Also, Red China perfected a non-nuclear EMP device around 2010-2011. This is my ultimate shtf scenario. I try to open eyes with just the most basic of facts, I stop when their eyes glaze over. Useless. I would like to think I would go on and check out if this ever happens. I don’t want to practice mass cannibalism, and I don’t think it would be worth trying to ride out just to die from a small wound with no antibiotics. This is on par with full scale nuclear war. But we here at least, have a tenacious will to live!
Continued, I’ve done a hell of a lot of research on this nightmare and I believe 90 percent is optimistic. Unless of course, our good “friends” Russia or Red China sent “humanitarian” personel! Read a book named War Day. It deals with nuclear war, but is very accurate for both scenarios. Let’s hope we never see this, but let’s prep as if it’s immenant!

That number is too broad to be of any use. In densely populated areas it might by 99, while in remote areas it may only be 50. It really doesn’t matter what the death rate is if you are among it. The important things are 1) get to a place with the best odds, and 2) do everything possible to improve your individual odds.

Thomas Labs has an online pharmacy which sells fish antibiotics, the same strength and purity as human antibiotics. Keep up with your tetanus and pneumonia shots, plus DPT if you can get it, and you’re at least somewhat protected from some of the big killers. In passing, we’ve finally managed to remove all of our carpeting down to the hardwood floors which should help if/when our daughter, son-in-law and their asthmatic children come to live with us. I classify that as a preventative health measure and am glad to have it out of the way. Without a vacuum, dust and dirt, mold and mildew will make an unhealthy environment for everyone, not just those with allergies. I’ve also switched out the curtains for blinds which can be dusted every day. My lucky find of the year is a 25-gallon iron pot in which I can do laundry. Found this at a garage sale and I felt as guilty about buying it for $50 as I would if it were a Renoir sold by mistake. I did tell the (elderly) couple that they could scrap it out for more money, but they were almost as anxious to get rid of it as I was to get it. ??? What does anyone know about “felling” saws? We cut our own wood, but use chain saws, the fuel for which may not be available later on.

It’s true. They aren’t even made here anymore. I read somewhere that someone tried to replace one of the really big transformers as a test. The first thing they found was that the railroad was gone that had delivered the original transformer. So they had no way to deliver a new one. So they had to figure out how to get two smaller ones to work. That may turn out to be the case in many areas. Even if the replacements were built, they couldn’t be delivered. A lot of the old railroad tracks around here have been ripped up for recycling. The ties and rock are there, but the steel is gone.
I think if the situation were studied, it might be that very inefficient transformers could be cobbled together from available materials just to get some electricity distributed. The waste heat might even be captured with a heat exchanger.

In my opinion, the worst time to go to the coast would be when it is raining. The rain would bring down more contamination. No one ever seems to mention the nuclear plants when they talk about EMPs or solar flares. When the electrical grid goes down, so do the plants. They have generators, but those won’t last more than a couple weeks at best. After that, it’s game over, no matter how prepped you are. Unless you’re one that has an underground bunker with years of provisions. If we have nationwide, or global meltdown, I’m not going to bother fighting anymore…
If there is an EMP that fries the grid, it stands to reason that any electronics in place to prevent catastrophic failure at a nuke plant will also be fried, these plants will go cheyrnobyl and contaminate everything.

They were doing a experiment trying to use residual steam to run the cooling pumps to compensate for the 60 second lag time the backup generators needed to come up to full power and transfer the load. The ruskies hit the SCRAM button and it blew up. I believe the Fukishima plant had battery/inverter backup to supply power to the cooling pumps while the Gensets spooled up… but the gens never came on line. Also they had some piping damage. If a EMP were to knock out the transmission lines or even the transformers and breakers. the scram uses gravity to lower the rods and shut down the reactors.
Nuke plants are very well shielded. Its the Earthquakes that would destroy the plant’s piping.
You know all of those third world countries that we tend to feel so bad for all the people having to live in those conditions. The places they haul their water from long distances, have no electricity to speak of, hunt, gather food, live off the land when they can. If this event ever were to happen don’t you think the western world and Europe etc. would be much further back? Just thinking they probably wouldn’t even notice. I don’t know I’m just kind of thinking out loud. We have become so spoiled and lazy that even people like myself who think we are more prepared than the masses of sheeple would still struggle without all of our power run tools and toys. I actually saw a fair amount of articles the last month about high solar flare activity and many talked about EMP disruption.I am really not sure a more larger scale warning would help much,look at storms were folks lined up for days for gas for cars/generators afterwards who had many days of warning,being prepared for any natural/man made disaster about the best you can do ahead of time.I suppose a faraday cage with some small radio/laptop to play information discs with a small solar charger might be a nice addition.Have come to conclusion I need more ink cartridges and reams of paper,want knowledge on a real hard surface that might down road be helpful.
For large scale printing, it will be more cost effective for you to buy a business type laser printer capable of printing thousands of pages per month. Toner cartridges print more for the money than ink cartridges do. And the laser printer is much faster than inkjet, which matters a lot when you have a mass of printing to do before SHTF. Also remember to use the toner saver feature if available. File folders and used filing cabinets are more economical storage than notebooks, unless you can get a load of used ones free. Make sure the paper is acid free for longer life. For things that you will refer to repeatedly, use sheet protectors.
I personally have a Brother HL-5240. I have had it a few years, and it has printed tens of thousands of pages.

Tuna fishing report. I crewed on a private sport boat, 23′ Parker. We fished from the Port of Newport Oregon. There was four of us, I ran the back deck and had two rookies with me. We boated 33 albacore before 10:30 in the morning then the bite died off. We tried until 3 pm with only adding a couple more to the count. They averaged around 22 pounds with a couple that were around 30 pounds.
I just started canning my catch share. I use a pressure canner and process them in pint and half pint jars. I put the raw meat in the jar with some sliced jalapeno peppers and a pinch of kosher salt. Cook them at 11 pounds pressure for 110 mins. I’ve been processing it this way for years and I’ve eaten jars that were older than 5 years. I don’t know what the actual shelf life is but the 5 year old canned tuna still had years of shelf life left.

BlackDog and everyone else, I can never emphasize enough on the idea of having a shortwave radio with single-sideband [SSB] capability plus all the extra batteries you can get your hands on to keep in that faraday cage. In a post-EMP world, there may not be any AM or FM stations broadcasting so that will leave Voice of America and other international broadcasters as the only sources of information from any part of the world. The SSB feature is a MUST for picking up ham operators who might have some useful info to pass on from time to time. Radio Shack carries a few models for less than $200. Another source is http://www.universal-radios.com. they carry a lot of new and used portable and tabletop radios, but portable will be the way to go unless you have an off-grid home with solar and/or wind power. braveheart

I’m beginning to think we aren’t going to get out of this alive– our civilization, I mean. I think by the end of this century, we’re cooked!
Problem is, all the stuff scientists predict (converging crises) are supposed to occur exponentially faster and faster (not talking about EMT events, or whatever, just the usual stuff- running out of drinkable water, oil, climate chaos, etc).
Anyhow, they say these things will happen exponentially faster– not linearly. What does that mean? Well, if you’re in a football field and 2 drops of water are squirted into your hand, and this occurs exponentially faster, every minute, then you have 4 drops, then 16 drops, then 256 drops, etc. And there are 2 people at the top of the bleachers, tied up. How long before these people are under water? Less than an hour. At first, the amount of water is very small. However, around the last 5 minutes, the amount is prodigious. That’s how exponential growth occurs.
Another example: you live on the coast and you know (hopefully!!) that there will much more rain, precipitation, flooding due to global climate change. But it isn’t really that bad yet and although its getting worse, you figure you got at least a couple more years yet to get out of dodge. But you’re thinking in linear terms! And all the experts say that the crises we’re all facing are occurring at an exponentially faster rate. So you don’t have much time– to prepare for economic collapse, climate collapse, water table collapse, or oil fields collapse. Its only at the last 5 minutes til midnight that all hell breaks loose. We’re used to thinking in linear terms– a linear timetable and it ain’t happening like that!!! And THAT’S the problem!!

So what does this mean for any solar power equipment IF I choose to get any? Is it toast too? (Serious Question)
Solar equipment should be fine if you remove any cabling that may act as an antenna to concentrate the charge. Any solid state charge controllers should be shielded or placed in a faraday cage. Disconnect any sensitive equipment from commercial power when not in use.
Any equipment containing semi conductors are extremely vulnerable to EMP. A metal trash can with a tight fitting lid , line the can with cardboard , should be enough to shield small electronics and foldable small solar panel systems. The damage is proportional to the frequency and duration of the pulse, any long runs of metal or cabling act as an induction coil transferring the charge to ground. alternately you can also use EMP bags in addition to faraday caging for additional protection. in the end this is all theoretical as very little testing has been performed with modern technology. The last tests performed were during the “Starfish Prime ” nuclear program during the early 1960’s before the Nuclear weapons in space test ban. technology has progressed immensely since that time.

Leave the city, get some land, maybe few solar panels for electricity during summer months and small, micro hydro electrical system for winter months, when not much sun for solar panels. You can build cobb house for $1,000 to $30,000– not that expensive. You can live debt free this way, off the grid. Get good book on perma culture so as to have abundance of food with little work involved. Maybe few chickens out back, tripod– for aqua culture (fish), some fruit/nut trees and plum trees, some grape vines.
Some places have community style arrangement where they share the forested areas (where all the fruit and nut trees grow) and then have their own little house and garden, perhaps a compost toilet.

Well, to CARS at least. They’ve actually tested it.
Quite a bit of equipment is shielded at power houses, microwave/radio transmission buildings and most vehicle ecm’s. Transformers are still built in the usa and small ones (dry type) are pretty simple to construct. The oil filled ones look like some might survive by the construction design. Too much doom and gloom. I think most rural preppers will survive without too much problem other than a whole lot of hard work such as cooking with wood, washing by hand, gardening, pumping/hauling water by hand. There are people living VERY remote that only come out to get supplies such as fuel, sugar, matches and TP. If they couldnt get those items, they would still be just fine. If they can grow sugar beets, they could make the fuel (and drink it too!). I know someone who has NO grid, running water, almost no income (barters veggies and picks/sells huckleberries) and no generator, and seems to be just fine. All they have is a small cabin with a wood stove, near by creek, outhouse, root cellar, and garden. The city preppers will have alot more challenges as they have to store everything and protect it 24/7. They really need a group of about 3-5 adults if possible. One dog can take the place of 2 adults for perimeter security if neccessary. People will help each other in a disaster as they have in the past. No Mad Max, Book of Eli scenery, more like a Gunsmoke or Quigly Down Under. The earthquakes seem to be a bit delayed this cycle as August 1 is the 15 day time frame since the South Sandwich Islands begun this. This is something that is very interesting that I very seldom see. The precursor earthquake at Easter Island yesterday and the S.W Indian Ridge quake today BOTH at a major earthquake that followed back in December of 2003. These exact spots were hit 10 years ago, and then central California had a 6.5 north of San Luis Obispo on December 22, 2003. With the huge areas of the plates, to have two quakes on the exact same spots, and then 10 years later the same event, this is quite rare.
I would say because of this very uncommon occurrence, that California is in the bull’s eye until August 16. I would look at that latitude of 35 degrees, give or take 1 degree and 1/2 or so, as the best possibility for some shaking. Find Bakersfield on the map and go about 90 miles north of here to about 110 miles south of this as the area most prone. Still all of California is in the target area. When two different plate area pinpointed down a few miles react like this, it is no coincidence. The earthquakes in 2003 on S.W Indian Ridge and the Easter Island area were 4 days apart, this time 1 day apart.

If the world governments know what is coming, why do they not power down the nuclear power plants before it happens?
It is enough to deal without power and what that would bring but the added danger of radiation too. We are talking world wide. To speculate how this would all pan out is frightening. Continuing on as if nothing is going to happen and not give warning is callous and unforgiving. Again we have another time frame to be wary of that may pass without incident. Still we prepare!
I have for a long time, this beef with myself, as to why I still prepare. It seems like every event is moved ahead of its occurrence. Six months, one year, then two years. The possible events that could happen are very real and warrant prepping. We all have been made out to be Doom and Gloomers, but if that is so, why is our government prepping and for what? Why can we never get a straight answer. I am so pissed off! Every time something is going south, they massage the numbers or use a new calculation. They fail to quickly resolve anything and it all stacks up. They bury the facts and distort information that does not suit their agenda. The use of intimidation does not bode well with me and only strengthens my position against them. They have lied so much that I don’t believe a single word they say anymore.
So I guess I will still prep.

To answer question about the ammo cans for storage- they are metal and usually fairly small, not a lot of room. A large metal garbage can in your basement is a better idea. You NEED to have non-conductive center mass (and interior)however. Think large block of non-foil backed Styrofoam insulation or very dry concrete blocks stacked in bottom.
EMP is a huge blast of electrically charged particles. If you just drop everything into the metal can you defeated the purpose. You want the wave of energy to flow *around* the outside and away from the can, not into it. Anything not shielded properly that is metal is going to pick up the current from the air. Anything that is a coil or antenna is really going to pick up the current. Do it right or not at all. Better to know you are good to go now than find out bad news later.
So… Mr. Smarty pants(I can hear you saying) Why can’t I just use a PLASTIC garbage can? First you need to understand how charged particle energy waves travel. You know how you can put food into a dish and then microwave it? The microwave bandwidth of energy can flow THROUGH the dish materials and still heat up your food. our last ice storm in KY we were without power for 2.5 weeks it sucked waking up to 4 degreesF but we had a waterboiler to make hot water and set up our household for shtf but it made us realize the holes in our program. now we have an old fashioned steam genny for electric if need be never again! every step back tells you the best next step forward. peace.

Just the other day the sun emitted a potential “kill shot” flare and CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) but it luckily was not earth directed. If you sign up for CME/Space Weather alerts on spaceweather.com, they will send either email or phone messages to you when a potentially damaging flare is emitted from the sun. A word of warning from someone (myself) who has studied this since 2010, if you choose to use alternative energy in the event of grid collapse, you had better shield all the control components in a Faraday cage. Wind turbines themselves, if operating, would likely survive, but solar panels would likely be overloaded and fried. The electronic controls for both need to be shielded though.
