In the United States, there are one million children under the age of six on psychiatric drugs. This number is particularly disturbing, considering the horrifying side effects and ineffectiveness of a good number of these types of harmful drugs.
One in six Americans overall regularly take some type of medication in this category. However, children are now being swept up in Big Pharma’s desire to make money, not improve health. Mental health watchdog group Citizens Commission on Human Rights is drawing attention to the concerning fact that more than a million kids younger than six in our nation are currently taking these psychiatric drugs.
According to Natural News, around half of these children are four to five years old and an incredible 274,804 of them are younger than a year old. That’s right: babies are being given psychiatric drugs. The number rises for toddlers aged two to three, with 370,778 kids in this category taking psychiatric drugs overall. If this isn’t horrifying to you, congratulations on your brainwashing.
Data from IMS Health shows that the drug situation only gets worse as kids get older, with 4,130,340 kids aged 6 to 12 taking some type of psychiatric drug.
You might be forgiven for assuming that most of these statistics are made up by kids taking ADHD drugs given how common that approach seems to be nowadays, but it really only accounts for a small portion of it, with 1,422 of those younger than a year old and just over 181,000 of those aged four to five taking ADHD drugs. –Natural News
The biggest category of psychotic drugs given to children appears to be anti-anxiety drugs. Just over 227,132 babies under one-year-old and nearly 248,000 of those aged four to five take these medications. Again, babies are being given mind-altering drugs before their first birthday. But the news just gets worse from there. Experts believe these estimates are far too low and the real numbers are actually much higher, due in part to the tendency for some doctors to hand out psychiatric medications for “off-label” uses. This risky practice entails giving out a drug to treat something that it is not indicated for, and the long-term effects of such an approach are completely unknown.
When adults choose to take psychiatric medication, it may be ill-advised in many cases, but it is still their choice to make. Children, on the other hand, lack the cognition to fully understand the lifelong impact of such a choice, and this essentially amounts to forced medication. We already know that many doctors have a financial incentive to get young people to start taking these drugs, but why are their parents so willing to get on board? Many of them are also taking psychiatric medications, of course. In fact, it has practically become a way of life in our nation and many people think of these meds as harmless.
The side effects of these drugs are nothing to scoff at, however, with antianxiety, antidepressant and antipsychotic drugs linked to heart attacks, psychosis, suicidal ideation, diabetes, stroke, mania and sudden death. As if that weren’t bad enough, there’s also the fact that many of the high-profile public shootings in recent years were perpetrated by young people on such drugs, so not only do kids have the risk of dying when they take these meds, but they could also take out a whole classroom or movie theater with them. –Natural News

When my oldest was 10, his mother and I divorced. He didn’t take it very well. When he was 12, his “counselor” said we should put him on medication. I said there’s no way in hell thats gonna happen. She actually told me a judge could order it. We stood our ground and said no. Then she said when he’s 14 he could choose for himself and we had no say in the matter. It never happened, I wouldn’t let it. Today, that kid is an accountant with a very promising future. Those people use their patients as guinea pigs and tell parents they have no rights. This country, world has become a cesspool of disgust. We are in an ideological civil war right now. I hope to God it doesn’t get physical.
Back in my day, kids were spanked then grounded if older kids. Kids run the parents today, I have seen this sort of thing for sometime. Loser parents are the norm, afraid to say no and appoint chores in the house and yard. I have zero respect now days for majority of people which are losers in practical matters. Most my friends are four legged, some have feathers. Hubby and I are social recluses overall and luv it.

I believe that parents are not “allowed” to discipline the children anymore. All the kid has to do is call the police and the parent get arrested or the kid gets taken away. I think that becuz of that the parents are afraid to discipline the kids. Sad.

Regular kids are not the ones getting medicated. It is the bottom rung kids. Their parents get them diagnosed with a mental illness, collect the drugs for resale or abuse, and get a SSI check off the disabled kid.

JohnS: Most these “slum kids” also have lazy welfare parents, many substance abusers, who sit in front of TV or game stations for hours on end eating junk food, drinking sodas full of chemicals, kids fed crap. Unfit parents should have never had any offspring.

Hello all. I hope all of you are doing well. When I read this article it makes me sick. I can recall a similar article mentioning 2 year olds in the usa being diagnosed and medicated for bipolar. The professionals were saying that the 2 year olds were having mood swings. Wow a 2 year old toddler with mood swings, hmmm how shocking. Better medicate and shut him up. I have been working in the social field for about 30 years and have remained a front line worker in all of my positions from drug/alcohol counsellor, family counsellor, early educator and the list goes on. Although these years were spent working with people in Canada it is not much different up here for drugging children. I have watched the trend of doping up the children for all these years. Of course as a youth worker as well as a coach the trend is not only sickening but very scary. Just think of all the future mass shooters the system is producing. Add that to the drastic increase of autism diagnoses and by the time another decade passes think of the condition of the young people. That scares me thousands of Autistic mass shooters killing their peers in all of the gun free zone schools. Ah yes better minds through better chemistry. Not to go off to crazy here but it seems to me the new norm is for the kids in school that are active are forced to take ritilan and other types of similar drugs every morning instead of their omega oils and multi vitamins. As a parent and grandparent and great grand parent do not let them drug your kids. I have seen way too many scary things from this practice but don’t forget they are the professionals so they know what’s best for your kids (sarcasm). Have a great day. The group home setting I worked in was essentially a lock-up for the most troubled at the time. At least half the yutes were drugged and reading the contraindications was a really sobering experience. In the final analysis, tremors, black tongue, and trouble concentrating was an acceptable alternative to acting out.
And it was always and only the MD’s who were distributing the poison. The problem isn’t the drugs really, it is the people who are prescribing them… the same ones who thought it was acceptable to take a kid and give him electric shock “therapy”.

I agree. I will never consider ECT (Electroconvulsive therapy) a treatment. It is a barbaric practice that ought to be outlawed. Of course, every Veterans hospital in the US allows ECT as a therapeutic treatment. How is applying electricity, to the brain, a treatment? It isn’t.
