water-running-dry

(NaturalNews) The city of Sao Paulo is home to 20 million Brazilians, making it the 12th largest mega-city on a planet dominated by shortsighted humans. Shockingly, it has only 60 days of water supply remaining. The city “has about two months of guaranteed water supply remaining as it taps into the second of three emergency reserves,” reports Reuters. [1]

Technical reserves have already been released, and as the city enters the heavy water use holiday season, its 20 million residents are riding on a fast-track collision course with severe water rationing and devastating disruptions.

But this isn’t a story about Sao Paulo; it’s a report that dares to point out that human societies are incredibly shortsighted and nearly incapable of sustainably populating planet Earth. In numerous regions around the world — including California, India, Oklahoma, Brazil, China and many more — human populations are rapidly out-growing the capacity of their local water systems. Even though keeping populations alive requires food… and growing food requires water… almost no nation or government in the world seems to be able to limit water consumption of local populations to levels which are sustainable in the long term.

Instead, the endless greed of the “grow-consume-profit” business model that dominates the global economy leaves no room for any hint of balance with nature. The overriding philosophy of modern business is to dominate nature with chemicals, mining and monoculture to maximize profit while kicking any really large problems down the road for the next generation to deal with.

The result is a world where nobody thinks about the long-term implications of today’s trends because everybody’s too busy trying to extract a buck or two out of the very system that will destroy their future.

Vegas, Phoenix and Tucson will also run dry

Consider Las Vegas while you ponder all this: Here’s a city with no water future whatsoever, continuing to build new casinos and grow its population even as the water level of Lake Mead has already dropped to emergency levels (and continues to plummet). What do the people of Las Vegas imagine they will drink when all the cheap, easy water is gone? Will they swallow dust and pretend it’s water?

The sobering truth is that nearly everyone who lives in Las Vegas doesn’t think about this. By definition, anyone who realized the truth about the disappearing water throughout Nevada, Arizona and California would have already sold their property and moved away. Those who still inhabit regions with unsustainable water supplies — such as Sao Paulo — are choosing to make believe the problem doesn’t exist.

This delusional psychology is, of course, reflected across modern human civilization and its governments, where delusional rhetoric and make believe fantasies about “endless economic growth” keep the obedient masses toiling away day after day, hoping they are securing a future which has already been mortgaged away.

Dwindling water supplies are like government debt spending

We’re often tricked into believing the government will solve all these problems for us. Yep, some Americans foolishly believe the same government which just issued $1 trillion in new debt to pay the interest on its existing debt is somehow really, really good at planning for the future instead of mortgaging it away. [2]

If fresh water were a bank account, the world’s spending deficit against that account would be deeply in the red and approaching a tipping point of default. And in precisely the same way the U.S. government borrows money to cover today’s expenses with no intention of ever paying it back, human society is also borrowing water to cover today’s water demands with no intention or capability of ever paying it back.

Right now in California and around the world, farmers are pumping water out of the ground that should have remained there until the year 2030. As they keep pumping the aquifers dry, they’ll be reaching ever more precariously forward into the future, using up water in 2015 that should have lasted until 2050 (or beyond).

In this same way, aquifers that should have lasted 100 – 200 years will be bone dry in the not-too-distant future. Farms that once produced food will instead produce a new Dust Bowl. Populations that depended on cheap food to afford basic living expenses will find themselves starving and bankrupt (and living on government food stamps, with the accompanying loss of freedom that always follows government handouts). The world’s governments — all of which rely on food affordability to keep populations relatively docile — will find themselves facing mass revolts and social chaos.

You are about to watch a milestone event in the history of our world

Unless some miraculous rain reverses the extreme drought, the city of Sao Paulo is about to experience a literal “dry run” of this scenario in as little as 60 days. The history of human civilization has never witnessed a city of 20 million people run out of water before, and no one knows exactly how such a scenario might play out. But whatever happens, a far worse rendition of the crisis will inevitably unfold across Las Vegas, Southern California, North Texas and the Arizona cities of Phoenix and Tucson. (In Tucson, they still wishfully call dry water channels “rivers” even though water almost never flows through them.)

Modern humans will not acknowledge reality until it slaps them hard in the face. Whether the subject is the chemical contamination of the world, the mass over-fishing of the world’s oceans, the pharmaceutical contamination of waterways, the using up of world oil reserves, the genetic pollution of crops with GMOs, the deep well pumping of water aquifers or the unsustainable government debt spending that props up fraudulent government regimes everywhere, few people have the will to honestly acknowledge the future implications of today’s actions. Most people prefer to just “get by” with the status quo. Besides, isn’t there a holiday sale going on at Best Buy?

It’s also more convenient to believe the lies told to us all by government and mass media. “Everything is under control” is the biggest lie of all, repeatedly uttered by governments that are almost universally bankrupt and incompetent. The really big lie almost everyone believes is the idea that no radical and sudden changes can ever happen — that things will continue on the way they’ve always been for the simple (illogical) reason that they’ve always been that way. Few people can imagine a world without fossil fuels; without a functioning power grid; without a 911 emergency responder system that functions; without cheap and easy food magically appearing on grocery stores shelves, etc.

And so the citizens of the world will greedily drink down the very last drop of water remaining. They will fill their fuel tanks with the last gallon of gas; clear-cut the last remaining forest; fish the oceans into mass marine extinction; mine the last remaining rare earth elements out of the ground; and dam up the last free-flowing river on the planet. The appetite of Earthlings for immediate satiation and quick-turnaround profits can only lead to self-destruction.

Have no illusions that if oxygen in the atmosphere could be turned into solid gold, people everywhere around the world would be incessantly mining the atmosphere for profit until the entire global population died of asphyxiation. With their very last breath, they’d be saying, “But I’m RICH!”

When Sao Paulo — the world’s 12th largest city — collides with reality in the next few months, it will be following in the footsteps of Easter Island, the Anasazi Indians, ancient Assyrians and other failed civilizations which collapsed and died out long ago.

If you are reading this, you are living in a time of great historical significance: You will be witness to the unfolding of the “era of collapse” across human civilization. This era has already begun, and although it may take a century to see it all unravel, future historians will view this era as a time of unbridled destruction of the planet at the hands of over-extended human societies grounded in self-delusion.

1. Los Angeles, with the help of William Mulholland, turned the Owens Valley in eastern California into a desert when they stole the water rights.

• If you think weather modification is exempt from the influence of world zionism you need to start reading the names of the people who seem to be directing the direction of this once great country.

• These cities always cut their own throats. Here lots of us live in the sticks and they want us all to hook up on city water….Yet the current reservoir can’t even handle the current people on it, nearly gone dry 2 years in a row…control/money is all they care about not rather if you can take a shower and drink water to stay alive.

• Aint overpopulation a bitch 🙁

• Yes, it is a B. Unfortunately, few people recognize the problem and the population keeps right on growing like bacteria in a petri dish….the dish is healthy right up to the last doubling, and then it all turns to a dead, brown, soupy mess.

You’d think humans would be slightly smarter than bacteria, but apparently that isn’t the case.

• If you even mention to people that perhaps cutting down the amount of births or regulating the population in some way; people look at you like you hate humanity. On the contrary I love the good life and want that for everyone that is brought into this world. Over crowding will ruin it for all.

• Time to shut down these thirsty Golf courses for the elite 1% that waste more water than hundreds of thousands of humans. People need to take charge of their Government and priorities.

There also is not a population problem as you could take every human in the world put them together shoulder to shoulder and they would all fit in Duval County Florida (Jacksonville area)

The Problem is the elite want to claim it is a population problem, but in reality its their corporations and golf courses sucking the water Aquifers dry.

Then take the Frackers in California that dumped 3 Billion gallons of Polluted fracking waste water into California’s already depleted Aquifer.

All those Fracking Mo-Fos should be sitting in Prison who ever did that.

• agree %100. I get tired of people repeating the crap that overpopulation is the problem. They will likely be first in line to get their wife sterilized and move into their UN-sanctioned 10×10 “cubicle” to save the world from ourselves.

• Marcus: no they will be the first to push others into those cubicles and the last to go there themselves.

• Oh, bullshit…..What happens when all those shoulder to shoulder folks have to take a crap ?

Yes, there is a population problem. But don’t worry….it will be solved by the 4 Horsemen, just like it always has.

• TnAndy…Yes….. as it ALWAYS HAS.
Nature including this physical earth is indeed Cyclical.
It’s only a matter of when. Timing is everything.

• Were it not for the burgeoning population all that oil from all that fracking would not be as needed as it is and demand would not continue to rise. Roll the pop back to 2B and many of these problems are solved.

• Genius: I’ve said the same thing over time; we have ltd resources and the planet is being trashed: too many people breeding like mice, not enough resources to meet the needs of the populations esp in 3d world areas where they breed like rats, also strip the land with zero conservation. Many environmental websites avoid the over breeding issue-duh?. I knew about all this in the late 60’s when we chose not to breed. Help the ones already born instead.

• Obviously, the author and you have no idea where Phoenix and Tucson get their water. And as of today, the drought in most of CA is over. We are not Sao Paolo. More fear mongering bullshit from yet another
“expert”.

• Over? When will CA run dry again?

• I live in Cali and the drought is no where near over. I wish it were, but it’s not.

• I live in Vegas, I can tell you first hand we are not water wasters. It all gets sucked away from us and Kommiefornia gets it. All this water disappearing crap is nothing but political BS. Vegas is sitting on a reservoir that is 4-5 times the size of Lake Mead. The problem is the politics, they want everyone else’s water from the great Lakes or other states before they reveal we had a replenish able supply underneath our feet. The downtown and strip casinos pump out 100 ‘ s of gallons of groundwater from their basements everyday, which goes straight out to Lake Mead so Kommiefornia can have it. Most of us hit water just planting trees in our yards here. This story and this guy’s 2 minutes of research are BS.

• In the future wars will be fought over valuable resources. Humans fail to realize that we live in a finite world. The central planners and governments operate in an infinite growth system. The Two always collide and that’s how civilizations have collapsed in the past.

• I remember being a kid and my dad telling me that “in the future, there will be wars fought over water rights and usage”. Being a kid I thought he was nuts. Its scary how correct he was.

GR

• its less about how much water there is, and more about who has the “right” to bottle, process, deliver, or sell it to you for a buck.

• The future is yesterday then.

• It ain’t rained here since old Buck was a calf. I’d appreciate for it to rain, not so much for me, but my grandson ain’t seen no rain but one time when he weren’t but about four. It skeered ‘im so bad that he swooned and it took near ’bout three buckets of dust to revive ‘im.

• Years ago, I read that water would be like oil in the future… seems to be coming true… the most sought after commodity.

Also, climate scientists have warned about the lack of water in the near future… also coming true. Heat dries up water.

• Are humans smarter than yeast?

Stay Tuned ..

2. We shall see. Sounds like more of the “sky is falling” crowd. I call BS. It went from chaos in 60 days to then a few months towards the end of the article. Let’s see if any of it comes to fruition (like the big Ebola meltdown in the US).

• You can look at Lake Mead and see a ring around it showing that the water level has dropped over 100 feet. It is now just a few feet from falling below the intakes for Hoover Dam. That means no electricity in addition to no water.

• Good thing I left that shithole huh lol…

• Yep Genius, thought about all of this when I became an adult, Living in the Midwest, I took a half dozen vacation trips out to California, and the same with Florida to find a warmer climate. Loving the Warmer water and prettier beaches in Florida, it was Hands down Florida, been here now 20+ years, and No Regrets. Plenty of fresh water every where. Only people in Cali I feel sorry for are the Wine Growers. I also saw the earth quake damage out there. Crazy.

• Gonetoolong –

I agree, there is so much wrong with so many of the statements made in this article it becomes impossible to know which statement to address. Guess we should just check back with the author in 60 days when he writes about Sao Paulo population dropping to less then 10.

🙂

• “and although it may take a century to see it all unravel, ”

So whats it gonna be ? 60 days ?

Whatching the weather this morning , i see its raining in SoCal right now , and the weather dude is predicting a wetter than normal winter for the south west .

• It’s not that the article is b.s. After all, there is a drought.

However, the article doesn’t mention with regards to California, that there are 15 Desalination Plants in the works with the first one coming online in 2016. Oil is cheap so there is enough energy to move the water to higher elevations.

Israel and Saudi Arabia have been using desalination for the longest time. It does work.

If they use the desalinated water for industrial and irrigation purposes, Cali should be OK because then the fresh water aquifers can meet the consumption demand…..unless of course immigration skews the population.

• You want to help the enviroment?

Any and all coastal counties should have desal plants and if they have to supply water to interior counties, they should have to pay through the nose or buy land on coast or pipe the seawater in and run it through a desal plant.

If a county cannot supply enough water, NO NEW CONSTRUCTION.

All of those iceburgs, that are melting, go hook up to those things, bring them home and drink up. Oh, that’s right, all of a sudden they are all freezing up again. Good for us, more water. ( I was just about to send it and remembered that you have to say SARCASIM on this site.)

• We shall see indeed..

re;sao paulo

Fact checked numerous articles from October 2014..and the results were the same..100 days or so of water left.
Given 30 days per month..the 60 days quoted here are already up as of November and we’re now into December already..

Liars figure and figures lie..

It’s obvious many locales worldwide face severe water shortages..that’s a given..

Problem is…we’re now in a world with fixed, stationary populations relying on finite water supplies..when the wells, aquifers, or reservoirs run dry..then what?

Since we’re not a nomadic population anymore, millions of people can not just pack up and move where there is ample water and food sources..

Solutions?

I have none..

possee

• Giant desalination plants… we have the technology!

Power them with the tidal flow of the oceans where the water is coming from, the proverbial perpetual motion machine know as the earth!

Everything is in tune! Cue Pink Floyd! 🙂

3. All we can do is wait and see. Certain parts of Commiefornia already have water rationing measures in place. Looks like Cali will go belly up before the rest of the Western states do. Fortunately we don’t have any water issues in the Eastern US. A war over water and other resources is coming.

• Interesting you should name the Socialist Republic of California. Queen Pelosi and her cronies live in an exclusive community which so happens to have no water restrictions at all where the communities all around her do. …HUMMMM?

4. It will take the 2nd dark ages for this world to wake up…atleast for a couple centeries.

• And the liberals will still be blaming Bush for it.

• See my comment below. The Bush family has been buying up water rights in South America so, yes, we can still blame Bush for it.

• There isn’t time for dark ages! Fukushima will end us long before that happens…that little event will ruin the oceans even if they comecup with affordable desalination…

5. Ask not for whom the bell tolls!I hope things work out for that and other cities but insane water usage and insane water/board of health regs contribute to the problem.I do believe many ways to cut back on usage without hurting/killing folks health wise or cutting off a reasonable live style.I have always tried to minimize water useage and recycle where I can for other uses(i.E. grey water),it can be done and at least certainly keep reservoirs ect. lasting longer. On a side note seems the author is one who not only points out some problems facing humanity but tries to find solutions to help people help themselves.

• WarChild, thats the problem, until shit runs out no one gives a damn. The great culling is going to happen soon, water is life. Before the oil age the population was pretty stable. Since then the machine age developed and supported a shitload more people. With wanton disregard and greed for resources the human population is finally reaping what it has sown. Earth will balance itself whether we like it or not…

Did you notice in the Bundy ranch standoff when the militia showed up to point guns back at the fucking pigs they tucked tail and ran? People aren’t as brave as you think.

I hope some NYPD fags get shot in these protests. God said take an eye for an eye.

Fucking old people.

• Acid/eisenturd and his crap again.

• Ya acid, the morons in fergustan were completely stupid and wrong. On the other hand the pigs in NYC were guilty of murder plain and simple! Some old people are a lot wiser than you grasshopper, and smarter so don’t run your mouth unless you can back it up 🙂

• Yeah, we old people have made some bad mistakes. You are one of them.

• Acid Face, I think you need a girl, even if you have to pay for one. You will feel much better!

• “Butt,butt,butt…”

“I am a girl when I give it up to my boyfriend lover”

Sybil Eisen has risen it’s ugly head and peered into the vast openness of a world beyond the confines of sub floor living and made another profound statement.

It’s observations are such a challenge, it may need constant probing from the gender’s member, to fix it pain.
It has a fear and loathing of the senior citizen to the point of causing it great mental anguish, of which only a young male dog can soothe.

Please, eisenstein, crawl back into your subterranean dwelling and remain calm. No geriatric geezer is prowling near the doorway just yet, but it could be the ghost of Jeffery Dahlmer.

• Acid, your biblical quote does not mean for one to go on a revenge rampage. It means if an injustice is done to a person then the person(s) responsible for that injustice should not be treated differently beyond what was done to the one to whom the injustice occurred. Again, the key word here is “injustice.” It doesn’t mean that if a person is killed, you should go out and kill a lot of people to exact revenge. If someone kills your cow, you have no right to take his herd. You get a replacement and that’s all. Based upon your applications of the Bible, I think it would be wise not to use it to justify your arguments.

7. Just more fear porn. A city in undeveloped Brazil ran out of water in 60 days? Wow, shocking.

• Maybe since they cut down and destroyed their Brazilian Forests, maybe the weather patterns changed since there are fewer trees to hold in the moisture or creating cloud evaporation cover? You know the “Great Rain Forest,” may be the great “Sand Dunes” by now. Got to hand it to those Spanish Catholic Christians being stewards of Mother earth, Just more Rape Pillage and Plunder Manifest Destiny Babble in action.

• And they have every right to cut down the forest on their land. A people have a right to increase the productivity of their land. Good grief we have cleared 99% of the land in the Mississippi river delta. I myself have cleared a couple of thousand acres of trees . that land now grows rice, corn ,beans ect. and the irrigation creates clouds from evaporation. The climate has always been constantly changing. There is no normal or optimal climate. And no one has any right or authority to try & dictate what the optimal climate is. Its absurd to think the earth changes are caused by mans puny activities. It more absurd to believe man can mitigate the actions of the planet.

8. One thing for certain about having no water. The problem corrects itself in less than a week under all circumstances as demand then goes to zero.

• A point to consider about desalinization…. Sounds all fuzzy and warm on the surface BUT, It makes solid salt which needs to be disposed of. The great SALT LAKE is a perfect example of why you can’t just dump it back in the ocean. NOTHING lives in the great salt lake (except some freakshow shrimp), So lets kill the ocean with over salinization as if fukashima isn’t enough. How about we try stopping the insane geoengineering shit and overpopulation? Oh too harshe? Well try the alternative and you will know what harsh IS!.

• Wait a second.

Isn’t that what happens already when it evaporates up into clouds and then rains down on land?

I mean the salt doesn’t evaporate right up with it…

I grant, you pump it out fast enough, you got problems… but somehow I think that would take a lot of pumping.

• The oceans evaporate more water every second than the city of Lost Angels would desalinate in a year.

And where will that desalinated water go after it is used? Back in the ocean maybe? They sure aren’t going to truck it to landfills, or shoot it into space.

• Desalinization for a city of that size? The cost would be enormous.

• you mean like compared to $80 billion a year we spend on food stamps?

9. I hope they find water. Land prices are cheap and folks are scarce where I live. I’d like it to stay that way.

• Bro us you are right, I fear the day when all these people abandon the wastelands they created and come to where I live, bringing their shit politics with them. Colorado is an excellent case in point.

10. Driving by Lake Shasta this past September, my husband and I were shocked. We had never seen it so low. Where there use to be inlets there were only trickling streams.

Mount Shasta had NO snow on it. I couldn’t even see the glacier. I am old and my sight isn’t what it use to be. I hope to be gone before I have to kill people to keep my water in my well.

• Relax. Shasta was much lower in the 76-77 drought. The experts said it would take years to bring back. three weeks into the 78 Winter it was full again. There has been a good amount of rain the last few days. As long as the high pressure ridge stays away California will get rain. These are normal weather patterns for the west Coast. No one ever expected forty million people living here.

• Mount Shasta is the CHEMTRAIL CAPITOL OF THE WORLD! Put the puzzle together and report back…

• Genius

Shasta County agrees to find out more about jet trails
The Shasta County Board of Supervisors wants to see what’s in those white streaks following jet planes in Northern California skies. Supervisors said they want to know if the cloud-like trails are contrails – made of ice and condensed water vapor – or chemtrails, a chemical mixture sprayed to influence weather.

Back at ya..

possee

• And your empty head is the garbage dump of the world. You clowns and your chemtrails. Dumb as a hammer you are.

11. I’ve always thought Brazil had a lot of rain forest/rivers…but its a huge country and I have no clue where that city is, so it could be in a rocky arid place for all I know (sorry it may of even said it in the article, but I just skimmed over it. Anyway water is the future oil, Gotta have it to live and you can use it for power…they just keep using it to water their lawns and polluting it…water wars are coming. I hope I don’t have to see it in my life time, because I love fishing!

• People don’t really need to water their lawns nor wash their cars. I’m living proof of that. Trekker Out. I Do Bathe!

• Once or twice a year? 😉

12. Be careful what you wish for, California is having heavy floods now and expected mudslides.

What gets me is the insanity of this administration may drain Lake Superior and pipe it to Arizona because they “own” our water and can do what they want with it, they can even regulate a mud puddle the way the wording is written.

• Drain Lake Superior? Are you high? You probably voted for Obama too.

• Why would I vote for Obama’s insanity when I am against it?

• California = Lack of water, summer forest fires, mud slides, earth quakes, 20 Million Mexicans most illegal, Jew Hollywood, high taxes, high cost of living, hours to drive to get anywhere, cold ocean waters, beaches suck, rude arrogant a-holes, etc. On a positive note they do make good wine. lol

13. I agree with Bromas. Up in the great white north there is an abundance of water, no earthquakes, hurricanes or tsunami warnings. The only natural disasters are tornadoes and floods for those that buy or build on rivers.

We have no bugs, poisonous snakes and people who still actually stand waiting to open the doors for somebody.

I really don’t need a migration to here from there.

God Bless,
NP

• No bugs outside at the moment anyways.

• It’s called un-natural de-selection. Stupid SHOULD hurt[!] After the mass die-off, earth’s remaining resources would (hopefully) be put to better use.

• Yeah, cause it’s minus ten and counting.

One biologist calculated the the aggregate mass of mosquitoes in Alaska in summer outweighs the aggregate of all other animals, (and people.)

14. I CAN SEE OBAMA USING THIS AS AN EXCUSE TO MOVE INTO OUR CITIES AND STATES AND GIVE THEM OUR BENEFITS FOR NOTHING!!!! WHAT THE HELL IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR US TO GET TOGETHER AND ENGAGE. WE NEED TO GET OUR COUNTRY BACK!!!

15. You are wrong about Las Vegas. There is so much water flowing down the colorado they could double their population and still not run out of water. They may some day have to stop wasting so much water but they won’t run out of water for households.

• When Lake Meade goes so does the lower Colorado. They already did emergency construction to place new water entry pipes that are 125 feet lower than the old ones. No rain will mean no water in two years.

• Agree. Water can be conserved. Most of Lake Mead is being drained to feed southern Kalifornia. I’ve already eliminated all my grass and water sucking plants, replaced with vegetables and fruit trees that’ll grow here. 75% of the planet surface is covered in water, yet we can’t figure a way to tap that resource. Priorities are all jacked up! Odumbo and his liberal commies would rather legalize all of Mexico and crucify every peace officer in the country all in the name of “white privilege”.

• GWTW, are you some kind of moron or what? I lived in the Vegas area for 20 fuckin years and watched lake mead go from full to shit! They had to put the water sucking pipes way out further to avoid going dry! Most of the marinas are closed as they are on dry land now! Are you fuckin stupid or blind???

• You are no genius. I too lived in Vegas and the level of lake Mead is irrelevant. There is more water coming down the Colorado then the city of Las Vegas could ever use. All of that water is “owned” by someone and in fact 150% of the water is allocated to someone. But when push comes to shove Las Vegas will either get priority over farm use of the water OR more likley simly buy the water rights. Farm water is incrediby cheap costing perhaps a penny on the dollar for what city water users pay. So simply giving the farmer the going price for their water allocation would make the farmer rich beyond their wildest dreams. However it is more likely that the dry cycle will end before this becomes critical and we will once again see Lake Mead overflowing.

• I lived in Las Vegas from 1983-2008, and indeed
Lake Mead was so full in the 80’s that the cup
did runneth over, but upon leaving Vegas for good,
that lake was going down, down, down … the Southern
Nevada Water Authority bought up all the large ranches
in Northern Nevada just for the water rights, and now
the water tables throughout the state are also dropping.
Glad I left, no regrets.

• Yeah plenty of water just go see all the fountains in Vegas. Water everywhere.. lol

I too have been to Lake Meade and Hover Dam and the White Brim around lake Meade was maybe 10 to 15 Ft back in the 70’s as they raised it that high to test it.

Lake Mead Water Levels Drop To New Low In Nevada July 2014
Down 214 Ft in water level since it was full in 1998. Only 39% full now. Or 61% Empty depending if you are Optimistic or Pessimistic. Ha!!

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Drought in the southwestern U.S. will deplete the vast Lake Mead this week to levels not seen since Hoover Dam was completed and the reservoir on the Colorado River was filled in the 1930s, federal water managers said Tuesday.

The projected lake level of about 1,080 feet above sea level will be below the level of about 1,082 feet recorded in November 2010 and the 1,083-foot mark measured in April 1956 during another sustained drought.

The lake on Tuesday was just under 1,082 feet above sea level, and the reservoir was about 39 percent full, said Rose Davis, a bureau spokeswoman in Boulder City, Nevada.

The dropping level since the reservoir was last full in 1998, at just under 1,296 feet above sea level, has left as much as 130 feet of distinctive white mineral “bathtub ring” on hard rock surfaces surrounding the lake.

Davis said the bureau expects a slight increase in water level to about 1,083 feet by Jan. 1, 2015.

16. necessity is the mother of invention!

there is no reason for this happening.

their are enough current modern water reclamation systems available through various processes that 100% of all waste water and even moisture from the very air around you is trappable and reclaimable.

this is not new humans have been harvesting water from the air for 1000’s of years via intricately built rock cairns.

only ignorance and greed will stop them from adapting and succeeding to over come this obstacle.

wink wink

17. Como se dice “desalination”?

18.
The result is a world where nobody thinks about the long-term implications of today’s trends because everybody’s too busy trying to extract a buck or two out of the very system that will destroy their future.
Alternately… you could die NOW…

Yeah so… yeah.

19. What do the people of Las Vegas imagine they will drink when all the cheap, easy water is gone?

Brawndo.

It’s got what plants need.

20. Several things are happening which the majority are quite unaware of, or have even heard of, and this begins with the “Expanding Earth Theory” as an on-going event happening now.

Since the PTB are 2 Well aware of the reality and logic of this planetary formation model, the idea is once again to exploit the ignorance of the population, which they themselves cultivate under the disguise of education and educated experts, to which you can then read “Paid Shills.”

So, not only is the core of earth itself expanding and heating, it is doing so alongside the rest of the planets, thus invalidating the absurdity of human carbon causing planetary heating, as this would mean we are also to blame for the rest of the solar system heating.

Under the expand’o planet model, the natural outcome of the conversion of energy to matter at the core of the planet is increasing heat, thus sinkholes, groaning sounds, splits, tears, earthquakes, variations in sea floors, ect, ect, ect….but then there are the unknown’s, which include possible/probable events to come. Such as, unexplained loss of water sheds, lakes, rivers, mud volcano’s, mud gysers, oil wells failing, oil wells exploding or ejecting oil, increasing sinkholes of increasing sizes, mainly in the eastern hemisphere, as the planetary heating seems to be uneven. The expected loss of electronics in unexplained ways, where as the flow of electrons may stop. Many other hypothetically possible events may happen as well.

In exploiting this event, the so-called fracking for oil is actually designed to create further shortages of water under intentional design, as the world is awash in oil and there is no need for this insanity, let alone the nuclear nightmare which the bastards keep running, obviously hoping to kill more people and expand on the communist medical model as a necessary part of the ever increasing grip of the medical crime cabal over the lives of every living human.

So, yea…this could all have been avoided, but then who would profit from ethical leadership?

• This all could have been avoided? Its not mans puny activities that are causing the earth changes. Its a cycle that repetes on a irregular basis. Its a pole shift & weakening of the earths magnetic poles. this effects the Magnosphere and plate techtonics. That is the reason for all the clatyclismic events that are increasing in both occurance & magnitude. These events would still be happening even if man had never walked the planet.

Yes but just think of all the re-runs of Gilligan’s Island our cave dwelling descendants will enjoy…

23. Encyclopedia of American Loons
#1: Mike Adams

Up first in the Encyclopedia of American Loons we have Mike Adams, a.k.a. “The Health Ranger”.

Adams runs the website NaturalNews.com, one of the most disturbing cesspits of quackery on the net. He is a fierce opponent of science and evidence-based medicine, providing long screeds about the danger of conventional medicine and against skepticism based on confirmation bias, misleading vividness, paranoia and conspiracy theories. He has absolutely no understanding of either science or critical thinking (complete inability to recognize fallacies or bias). He is also a proponent of every imaginable alternative treatment.

He is also a 9/11 troofer.

For examples of his antics, you can read about his “takedown” of Obamacare here: h ttp://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2010/03/mike_adams_takes_on_obama_care_with_hila.php

And also here:
h ttp://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2010/04/mike_adams_10_biggest_lies_about_health.php.

A truly stunning case of paranoia and stupidity here:
h ttp://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2009/05/mike_adams_brings_home_the_crazy_over_th.php

A scintillating display of ignorance, stupidity and self-unawareness here:

and here:
h ttp://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2010/01/sometimes_i_think_we_break_the.php

Mike Adams, a pyromaniac in a field of strawmen:
h ttp://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2010/01/a_pyromaniac_in_a_field_of_straw_man_or.php

Diagnosis: Complete loon, flamingly stupid, extremely paranoid, a zealot and a fraud; his influence is probably limited but given just a small base of followers he could wreak some havoc.

(this one is probably a different Mike Adams, but one that deserves a footnote in our lexicon in any case: h ttp://scienceblogs.com/deltoid/2006/08/mike_adams_and_the_shape_of_th.php – this latter guy might or might not be identical to this one: h ttp://blogs.salon.com/0002874/2004/12/01.html#a1310; this means that there are most likely at least two, possibly three, wildly crazy Mike Adamses out there, at least two of which are 9/11 troofers).

24. This blog is makin me thirsty!

25. Climate is changing. Then again, the earths climate never stops changing. Two factors making the problem worse. One – 7 billion humans. Two – earth’s climate is cooling a bit. When climate cools it gets drier.

• And that salt is a valuable desirable by product. Every city & state in the north needs salt to combat winter road conditions. Maybe we could shut down some of the salt mines? I would welcome dumping any extra on the bonnieville salt flats. The lake bed has been deteoriating over the years. I frequently attend the speed week there. This year it was rained out. flooded the race course.

• I really wish Al Gores glowbull warming Myth Hoax where in fact true. Warmer & wetter would be better.

26. The New World Order is all about replacing the current human population with reptilian/human hybrids and this can only happen once humans have been eradicated. A water shortage is one way but will probably mean a mass exodus of millions looking to resettle near areas with safer and secure water supplies.

The ruling elite of Earth are so inhuman to majority of the human population because they the ruling elite are not human but reptilian. Reptilians that look like humans can be male or female, and are found in every race, religion, age, social class, income group, educational level, and in all sectors of society but usually in positions of power especially at the highest levels where they totally dominate. All reptilians are psychopaths and all are evil. The aim to keep the global human population down to 500 million refers to the reptilian/human hybrids and not humans. Therefore since reptilians are estimated at 5% of the population roughly means 350 million with the rest allowing for population growth.

Reptilians can be identified by looking closely at their eyes the have irregular shaped and variable shaped polygonal pupils, irides, and anomalies with hands that can elongate and with skin colours that have a greenish tinge or variable scaly texture that can suddenly appear more human. Interestingly a reptilian pregnancy only lasts 2 months. Some more sensitive people can sense a presence of evil. However it’s much too dangerous for any human to attack reptilian as reptilians have reaction times 5 times quicker then humans, are far stronger and have more developed psychic powers including in some cases telepathy but that does require consumption of human flesh and blood. Humans are currently a human resource in every sense of the word like animals are to humans.

Unfortunately for reptilians and the ruling elite both they and the New World Order will fail because evil itself is being eradicated by the true divine light (true divine creation) and nothing of spiritual value will be lost. It means the ruling elite and reptilians have lost and run out of time for their spiritual existence. Mainstream religions stop those good people (not spiritually evil) connecting to their higher self and finding a way back to their creator (true divine god).

27. From http://www.globalresearch.ca: “A disturbing trend in the water sector is accelerating worldwide. The new “water barons”—the Wall Street banks and elitist multi-billionaires— re buying up water all over the world at unprecedented pace.

“Familiar mega-banks and investing powerhouses such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, Macquarie Bank, Barclays Bank, the Blackstone Group, Allianz, and HSBC Bank, among others, are consolidating their control over water. Wealthy tycoons such as T. Boone Pickens, former President George H.W. Bush and his family, Hong Kong’s Li Ka-shing, Philippines’ Manuel V. Pangilinan and other Filipino billionaires, and others are also buying thousands of acres of land with aquifers, lakes, water rights, water utilities, and shares in water engineering and technology companies all over the world.”

The rich consider us cows to be milked and when there is no more milk to be squeezed out of us, they will send us to the slaughterhouse….

28. Reptillians? I have a cousin that resembles a lizard? almost all lawyers are Snakes? Gee I think both of the Clintons where lawyers? Nolan Richardson the former coach at the University at Fayetteville Ar. looked like a Hila Monster? Serf I wouldn’t put too much faith into believing the ZETA website.

29. I lived in AZ for 20 something years and water was cheap then but we still conserved water by having a lawn of small rounded river stones and 4 huge Paloverde trees for shade. We had a large drip line fed garden as well. We really didn’t use much water even with a household of 5 persons compared to our neighbors who had lawns and I know this for a fact because I was a grade three certified water/wastewater technician for our town.

When I moved back to Northern OH, the abundance of water was a pleasant surprise and of course I now have a big lawn and garden which I seldom have to water and of course there’s that big assed Lake Erie where we get our drinking water from. I recently helped a friend move his Grandmother’s stuff out of her basement because she was going into assisted living and was amazed to find a brick cistern which stored fresh rainwater for household use back in late 1800’s before water lines were run to the house. My buddy and his friends used the dried up cistern as a fort when they were kids and apparently this was a common feature back in the day in most rural homes ( the home is smack dab in the middle of a good sized town now ).

The water storage was interesting because the property already had a well.

As for myself, I have 2 55 gallon water drums that collect rainwater and both toilets are the low water usage models because the 3rd party water supplier that our community uses are complete thieves. When I moved into my home my water and sewage bill was around 17 dollars a month. Three years later it was 70 dollars a month! We all banded together and filed a class action suit and it took 2 years to settle. The water company settled very quickly when our committee found that we could bring RICO charges on the executives of the company. We also found corruption at the state and county/city level as well, that forced the utility to come to terms in a timely manner. Sometimes the little guy does win!

My monthly water bill is now around 27 dollars.

Water is life as a previous poster said. We try to conserve our water and keep our water bill as low as possible which is kind of ironic considering how abundant H2O is around here.

I have always found it amusing that people from water rich areas who move into the semi arid parts of our country want to have green lawns and fauna that require much more water than the native plants. I reckon that’s the nature of us humans though.

Saw something on PBS about Sicily the other day. When the Romans moved into Sicily en masse there were large tracts of forests which they promptly cut down so they could plant wheat and other grains. They didn’t know that removing damned near every tree for agricultural use would turn the island into an arid place. The ancient Mayans did the same thing. We need to take a lesson from their mistakes and find a balance in our agriculture, our forests and our water use so we can continue to thrive and grow as a nation. Common sense would help.

Just my 2 cents FWIW.

Best to ya’ll!

Snake Plisken

• Snake are you one of those evil Reptillians Serf is warning us about?

• Well Old Guy I reckon I do have some reptilian qualities. I like to sun bathe on a warm summer day but must have a cold beverage nearby.

I don’t eat much anymore and can go a day or two without a meal.

While i prefer to live and let live i can be meaner than a rattlesnake with hemarhoids when prompted. 🙂

So yeah, I do connect with my deep seated reptilian instincts but I’ll leave the trashing of the trailer park to my dear friend Godzilla ( yes, I really do have a friend nick named Godzilla ).

Oh yeah, I also shot my way out of NYC some years back!

Best,

Snake Plisken

30. I thought Ebola, or was it ISIS that was going to kill off a large part of the earths population? I seem to remember several articles about them both. The flavor of the month now is water supply? Just so everyone knows, the earth surface is 71% water. Sao Paulo is located next to the south atlantic ocean, I doubt they will run out of water. Just another billionaire in the making of water purification. Cha Ching

31. The Ogallala Aquifer from Texas through Kansas and beyond is running dry. Government policy did it.

Prices supports and other farm subsidies over the years gave farmers the incentive to bring in marginal land and pump water up from the aquifer that natural rainfall and market prices would not have made possible.

In a short sixty years the once rich land is now but a side issue. The soil is a formality only there to hold the plants upright while they gain sustenance from the tons of fertilizers soaked in each year. Pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, and defoliants drain into the city water supplies giving cancer to those who drink it year after year.

Surface water washes these poisons into the few lakes that cities draw drinking water from. There is no escape from the vote buying started by FDR and continued by both parties to today. All to purchase farm state senators.

Like someone posted, nature will have the last laugh. Nature will right herself. In a thousand years this land will once again be growing thick grass, the aquifer will recharge and the springs and rivers once again flowing. Welfare farmers will only be a subject of study by historians, if the Chinese wish to investigate.

• gls your correct. Here in Arkansas we are located above the Sparta aquifer. They grow mostly rice and its just thousands of acres of hydroponics. They are depleting the aquifer. Springs and Well,s go dry. In NE Ar. every summer the irrigators pump the Forchie river completely dry. The larger black river is reduced to a small stream. And they used to run steam boats up the backs river. they farm so clean that all weeds & grass are poisoned. Then they burn off the stubble after harvest and the dust storms blow all the lighter organic material away. Now they are building a chicken processing plant that will pump 2 million gallons of water per day. and work 1000 persons. those folks will likely be from south of the border. the influx of their litters of children into the public schools will be costly. As a result property taxes will skyrocket.

32. I disagree with Mike’s assessment of water resources in the Phoenix metro area. (Love NaturalNews, read almost every day) Phoenix has adopted water restriction laws a long time ago (unlike California). Vast majority of new homes built during the housing boom have HOAs that require low-water desert landscaping…usually gravel based. Also, reclaimed water has been in use on golf courses and parks for years. A big majority of fresh water used in Phx is from renewable snow melt and surface water that comes off the mountains every winter. There is an intentional process to take reclaimed water and pump it into the ground (percolating down) to recharge ground aquifers. New developments are required to purchase rights or show that the development has a reliable source of water for the next 50yrs. All this to say…Phx aint runnin out of water anytime soon. Another desert area that has tons of water is southern Idaho. Boise area has more green grass along roadways than Phx.–Again, massive resources from snow melt.

I see the problem with southern California water is gross mismanagement of the water canal system (leads to water loss), continued postponement of meaningful water conservation strategies (too much high water landscaping), and continued flood irrigation techniques of farmland (Israel turned the desert green decades ago with drip irrigation). What’s even more concerning is even with areas actually having to truck in water because the pipes are dry…no meaningful strategies are being implemented with any sense of urgency.

• I’m glad to hear that my former home state is taking common sense measures to conserve water and still provide clean potable water resources and for recreation.

I’m hoping to get to AZ this spring or summer, see friends and family and tube down the Salt River. I’ve been away for way too long.

Snake Plisken

33. Another article about he non-longterm sustainability of the planet yet again leaves out the elephant in the room, that of population reduction. Have less babies for 3-4 generations, roll the pop back to a couple of billion and have long-term affluent living. Up the pop to 10-1B and have a world of ever mre ppl paying more for ever dwindling supplies, making the elite ever wealthier and wealthier.
