3 Times LAST WEEK Women Defended Themselves and Others With a Gun

I’ve often written about the fact that gun control is every bit as much of a women’s issue as equal pay and maternity leave. Anyone who believes in destroying the 2nd Amendment doesn’t understand what an equalizer a firearm can be. A determined woman with a gun can fend off a number of larger male attackers, sometimes without even firing a shot.

I know this is true because I have had occasion to protect myself and my daughter with a gun in the past. But if some gun control advocates had their way, all guns would be banned. Every single one. This would take away the right of women all over the country to protect themselves.

I argue constantly that guns have a place in every woman’s home. Below, you can find 3 stories about women who defended themselves and others with guns in just the past week.

    A Restaurant Worker in Wisconsin

Miranda Schaeffer told Fox & Friends that her gun may have been the deciding factor in saving the lives of herself and a co-worker last week.

She and her co-worker were physically attacked by a customer who wanted a refund at the George Webb restaurant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where they work last Friday night, July 6, 2018. Schaeffer recounted the incident:

“He didn’t look like he was playing any games with anybody. He wanted his money,” Schaefer said. “But he didn’t want to wait. Like literally maybe a minute. And as soon as [Kaehler] said you can’t come back here, that’s when he punched her. And I said ‘no, we’re not going to have no more of this.’ So I pulled out the firearm and that’s when I said ‘you’ve got to go.’”

Schaefer said the assailant would have kept assaulting her and her coworker, had she not pulled out her gun and told him to move along.

“He would have most definitely kept on coming,” Schaefer said. “He would have kept on hitting. He would have tried to fight both of us. The punch was originally for me because I told him no about the refund because I’m not allowed to you give the refund.”

“He didn’t want to wait. And since he didn’t want to wait that’s when he punched her,” she continued. “He was going to keep on going and keep on going. It was going to be bad. That punch itself was terrible.” (source)

Schaeffer’s coworker had urged her to bring the firearm to work due to a history of violent incidents at the location, as well as a lack of security.

    An Ex-Wife in Alabama

A woman in Jefferson County, Alabama successfully defended herself against her estranged husband last week, as well.

Chief Deputy Randy Christian said deputies were dispatched about 10 a.m. to a home in the 2800 block of Seventh Street N.E. A woman told lawmen her estranged husband had broken into the house and tried to sexually assault her.

The woman was armed with a handgun and shot him in the leg to fend him off, Christian said. The suspect fled in vehicle but was stopped by deputies in the 1900 block of Old Springville Road. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that aren’t life-threatening.

Detectives questioned the suspect, who they identified as Eric Austin. After questioning, Austin was arrested and charged with attempted rape and second-degree domestic violence. (source)

The man was put under guard at the local hospital and will be sent to the Jefferson County Jail after he is released.

    A Mom in Texas

When a Dallas, Texas mom went into the gas station for just a moment, a potential carjacker took that as an opportunity to try and steal her SUV…with her two young children inside, ages 2 and 4.

“It happened so fast…Not even five minutes, not even five minutes. It happened so fast!”

Booker said jumped back into the vehicle and ordered the man to stop the car. When he refused, she tried to push the gear into park as the car rolled through the parking lot. The suspect, Rickey Wright, still refused to stop, so Booker reached for her gun.

“When I see that he’s not trying to stop, he kept hitting the gas, I went toward my glove compartment and grabbed my gun and I fired at him from the side,” she said. (source)

She shot Wright in the face. He is in the hospital with serious injuries and has been charged with unlawful restraint and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

These women refused to be victims.

These brave women didn’t wait around to be victims. They took their personal security into their own hands. Each of them got a gun and learned how to use it. They didn’t hesitate when the time came and because of this, they and others remained unscathed.

Notice that none of the assailants threatened the women with a firearm. They tried to use their superior strength and size to intimidate their would-be victims. In each case, the gun served as an equalizer.

Biology defies the politically correct ideal that everyone is equal. If my daughters were to ever find themselves in a position where they had to fight to save their own lives, I would far rather they be armed with the handgun of their choice than any number of weekend self-defense classes. Nothing is going to empower them more than a firearm that they can use with comfort and accuracy. Nothing is going to be more likely to end a conflict before it erupts into violence than seeing that the person you thought was going to be your victim is willing to fight back with deadly force.

The idea that we all need to hand over our guns and then the world would be a safer place is nothing but a silly,  rose-colored daydream with no basis in reality.  If that offends you, then you need to sincerely think about the fact that under your guidelines, the smaller, weaker person will always be the victim.

We all have the natural right to protect ourselves and our loved ones.  Why are some people so terrified of the idea of taking control of their own safety?

There is no way to guess how many times a firearm in the hands of a would-be victim deters a criminal and saves a life. The mere sight of a firearm doesn’t cause violence. It can prevent the violence that is brewing.

Yes, people really DO want to take all the guns.

Despite the assurances of the left that “no one is coming for your guns,” opponents of the 2nd Amendment have been a lot more vocal lately stating that this is not the truth. Last year, Lt. Governor (and would-be governor) of California Gavin Newsome flat out said on Facebook:

“It’s been 5 years since 20 first graders were shot dead at Sandy Hook…We have a message for the NRA – National Rifle Association of America: If you hurt people, we ARE coming for your guns.” (source)

survey undertaken in March says that half of all Democrats want to ban ALL guns. Here are half a dozen articles with examples of people who want to take our guns.

And of course, these articles are a drop in the bucket. There are many, many more. Would all of these people prefer it if the restaurant workers above were killed by their assailant? If the two children were kidnapped and killed by the carjacker? If the woman was raped by her ex-husband?

Take control of your own safety.

Any person who feels marginalized or vulnerable to hate crimes should be there lining up at the shooting range with me and the three women mentioned above. If you are a gay person, a minority, a transgender person, or of a religion that is being persecuted, you, too, need to take the power into your own hands to defend yourself from the bullies of this world should they physically attack you. I urge you to get a gun and take some instruction to learn how to use it, store it, and carry it safely and responsibly. (Here are some tips on choosing a gun.)

If you agree with the following statements, then you cannot logically agree with the type of gun control that takes away everyone’s right to bear arms.

    • I have the right to keep my family safe.
    • I have the right to protect myself against someone bigger and stronger than me.
    • I have the right to protect myself when traveling.
    • I have the right to protect myself at work.
    • I have the right to be safe in public places.
    • I have the right not to be raped until the police arrive.

Most of us are on the same side. We want to be safe. I urge you to take that safety into your own hands like these women did, because as the saying goes, when you need help in seconds, the police are only minutes away.

      1. The left won’t listen to reason on anything. “Feewings!” I refuse to comply with any new gun laws and many old ones. My argument? BFYTW!

I KNOW Global warming is real. I am VERY concerned about the environment and animals’ rights. However, I ALSO know the importance of the second amendment, Putin is my hero.. I don’t believe the B.S. on TV. (PROPAGANDA MACHINE). And I’m not racist, like most conservatives. Reason does work most time… although I have to admit that I bust my butt trying to get you people to realize that global warming is very real, coming at us with a vengence and you people are still asleep, with your heads in the sand…like the Jews. 🙁 (sigh!)

          • Your blathering simply proves my point.

          • So, you would empower the government to battle Global Warming, which would give great power to the government. You’d trust them handing over such intrusive and coercive power to them, and expect that the second amendment would survive. Good luck on that theory.

Global Warming = coercive intrusive government needed to solve it = end of freedom.

Today there is either pro-freedom or anti-freedom, there is no ‘Third Rail’.

      2. When you folks get it through your heads to stop “asking” and start turning your backs to the so called powers that be, and taking control of what is a natural G-d given right, then you will start to see the power of the people as one. Throughout the age of mankind, those in power through force or manipulation of some kind have feared only two things, G-d, and the power of the people. Stop being lazy and take responsibility of your life, stop voting crooked politicians to do the things you should be doing yourself! Grow up and realize we outnumber them and they are afraid, very afraid. Take back your country, take back your natural born rights of freedom without restraint, protection by any means, happiness without being defined by another. Until your willing to turn your back to crooked politicians, unjust laws designed to control every waking moment of your life, and living to work to make someone else rich, you will be a slave. This so called freedom we have is but an illusion. Time to open your eyes and wake up! But we have our guns, you say. So have you done anything to throw out an unjust crooked government? No, its not time you say. It was time the moment George Washington put down the so called Whiskey Rebellion, (1794), in American history, uprising that afforded the new U.S. government its first opportunity to establish federal authority by military means within state boundaries, as officials moved into western Pennsylvania to quell an uprising of settlers rebelling against the liquor tax. And he himself became the creature the entire American Revolution was based on. We are a little late people but even now might there be a little time afforded us? Just because your grown doesn’t make one a man or woman…

        • CB – you’re right. I’ve thought exactly the same thoughts as you wrote. It is ‘time’. I’d only ask, “where is our Lexington Green”? One man or woman cannot do it alone. Even Washington had his men.

          • I wonder myself, where is our Lexington Green. But why does it have to be a shooting? See they will never fire the first shot, they want us to do it. But they know we wont so they laugh and continue their evil ways knowing… One day soon we will wake up and realize we should have made the first move, because most will be to scared and hamstrung to do anything.

There is a quote I use often, and it is so true. ““These people are playing with matches… I don’t think they understand the scope and scale of the wildfire they are flirting with. They are fucking around with a civil war that could last a decade and cause millions of deaths… and the sad truth is that 95% of the problems we have in this country could be solved tomorrow, by noon… simply by dragging 100 people out in the street and shooting them in the fucking head.”

To barbaric? I think not when the evil so called powers that be are recruiting their own army called islam and those low iq brain washed sand fleas know as muslims, who willingly behead anyone who disagrees with them and then cry like babies when confronted and screams some “ism” and hides behind a fake religion. So to barbaric? Not barbaric enough if you ask me. I just pray that when we finally wake up and the Cowboys vs muslims game starts, I am able and around to participate.

            • ” Known as muslims” sorry

      3. You can bet that multiple times that number of criminals turned tail and ran when a gun was seen in the intended victims hand on on there person. These incidents were never reported due to the often over zealous actions in attempting to cast blame on the intended victim. An unknown but presumably large number of attacks were deterred because the target might be armed. These are also not computed into the win / loss convoluted anti gun claims.

        • their not there……..oops

      4. Defense against crime is not why we need the guns. The reason we need guns is to keep the government bully from invading our homes and dragging us off to prison, murdering at will, and mistreating us. Which is what happens when the citizens allow themselves to be disarmed.

By Americans having guns, foreign Countries hold back abuse in order to sell disarmament globally. If the USA is disarmed, all the world will be put under an unforgiving global governance. Read what has happened in the past. Governments need a deterrent from abuse of power. Guns in the hands of the citizen is that deterrent.

        • B from CA

Your 100% correct but few even in pro Second Amendment circles care to go there especially post 911 where everyone is a suspect.

      5. That last one, The right not to be raped until the police arrive, comes out a little sketchy. Sounds almost like, that when the police arrive, you get raped. That has political all over it as a statement about corrupt and law-breaking cops. How about more accurately, “The right to stop anyone from raping me, by any means necessary”. I prefer strong willed women to weaklings, and a woman with a gun in her hand shouting No! is far more logical than one depending on the law, or half measures to keep her inviolate. And if she wants to carry an AR-15 fully loaded or a shotgun to protect herself, I’m all for it. An armed society is a polite society.

      6. Nobody else can protect you…only you can protect you. cops are there to clean up the mess after the fact. If a deer gets in the way,so much the better.

      7. “I’ve often written about the fact that gun control is every bit as much of a women’s issue as…”
Guns are even More important for a woman to have, IMO, than for a man. Men are more or less on an equal basis as far as physical strength. But for a female, the only thing that puts her on equal footing with a man as far as defense goes, is a gun… unless she knows karate, etc. Women simply are not as strong as a man in arm muscles. She DOES have stronger legs. So, a gun is the only thing she can do to protect herself from male aggression.

      8. Cops are often useless. My daughter called the cops after a guy broke in her window in the middle of the night. Thankfully, she was up studying and saw him come in. She ran out in the hall and called the cops. They showed up about an hour later, explaining they had other more dire cases to attend to. Thankfully, the guy only took her purse. And thankfully, her cat alerted her, freaked out and ran out of the room. The cops? USELESS!!

      9. When I think back throughout my life- all the horrible, traumatic events I went through– if I had ONLY HAD A GUN THEY WOULDN’T HAVE OCCURRED!! Gang raped, kidnapped, attacked by male (distant) relatives… almost killed. I forgot what the statistics are, but most women will get raped at least once in their lives…WE FEMALES REALLY NEED TO BE ARMED.

      10. Daisy– I keep going to your website but it says its not working anymore!!! WHAT HAPPENED???

      11. The gal in Texas made at least three stupid mistakes.
First, she left her kids in the car to go inside to pay.
Second, she left the car unlocked.
Third, she apparently left the key in the ignition.
She is one lucky lady. It could have turned out quite badly for all three of them; gun or no gun.

      12. It wasn’t long ago that I saw a meme on Facebook stating “No one is coming for all of your guns.”

They changed it, and were inching towards honesty with that one. We all know the truth nevertheless. They want ALL of the guns. They want government to have a monopoly on force in the name of security.

      13. Aim Small Miss Small!!!!!!
