18 Signs That The Global Economic Crisis Is Accelerating As We Enter The Last Half Of 2014

Accelerating-Public-Domain-300x300A lot of people that I talk to these days want to know “when things are going to start happening”.  Well, there are certainly some perilous times on the horizon, but all you have to do is open up your eyes and look to see the global economic crisis unfolding.  As you will see below, even central bankers are issuing frightening warnings about “dangerous new asset bubbles” and even the World Bank is declaring that “now is the time to prepare” for the next crisis.  Most Americans tend to only care about what is happening in the United States, but the truth is that serious economic trouble is erupting in South America, all across Europe and in Asian powerhouses such as China and Japan.  And the endless conflicts in the Middle East could erupt into a major regional war at just about any time.  We live in a world that is becoming increasingly unstable, and people need to understand that the period of relative stability that we are enjoying right now is extremely vulnerable and will not last long.  The following are 18 signs that the global economic crisis is accelerating as we enter the last half of 2014…

#1 The Bank for International Settlements has issued a new reportwhich warns that “dangerous new asset bubbles” are forming which could potentially lead to another major financial crisis.  Do the central bankers know something that we don’t, or are they just trying to place the blame on someone else for the giant mess that they have created?

#2 Argentina has missed a $539 million debt payment and is on the verge of its second major debt default in 13 years.

#3 Bulgaria is desperately trying to calm down a massive run on the banks that threatens of spiral out of control.

#4 Last month, household loans in the eurozone declined at the fastest rate ever recorded.  Why are European banks holding on to their money so tightly right now?

#5 The number of unemployed jobseekers in France has just soared to another brand new record high.

#6 Economies all over Europe are either showing no growth or are shrinking.  Just check out what a recent Forbes article had to say about the matter…

Italy’s economy shrank by 0.1% in the first three months of 2014, matching the average of the three previous quarters. After expanding 0.6% in Q2 2013, France recorded zero growth. Portugal shrank 0.7%, following positive numbers in the preceding nine months. While figures weren’t available for Greece and Ireland in Q1, neither country is showing progress. Greek GDP dropped 2.5% in the final three months of last year, and Ireland limped ahead at 0.2%.

#7 A few days ago it was reported that consumer prices in Japan are rising at the fastest pace in 32 years.

#8 Household expenditures in Japan are down 8 percent compared to one year ago.

#9 U.S. companies are drowning in massive amounts of debt, but the corporate debt bubble in China is so bad that the amount of corporate debt in China has actually now surpassed the amount of corporate debt in the United States.

#10 One Chinese auditor is warning that up to 80 billion dollars worth of loans in China are backed by falsified gold transactions.  What will that do to the price of gold and the stability of Chinese financial markets as that mess unwinds?

#11 The unemployment rate in Greece is currently sitting at 26.7 percent and the youth unemployment rate is 56.8 percent.

#12 67.5 percent of the people that are unemployed in Greece have been unemployed for over a year.

#13 The unemployment rate in the eurozone as a whole is 11.8 percent – just a little bit shy of the all-time record of 12.0 percent.

#14 The European Central Bank is so desperate to get money moving through the system that it has actually introduced negative interest rates.

#15 The IMF is projecting that there is a 25 percent chance that the eurozone will slip into deflation by the end of next year.

#16 The World Bank is warning that “now is the time to prepare” for the next crisis.

#17 The economic conflict between the United States and Russia continues to deepen.  This has caused Russia to make a series of movesaway from the U.S. dollar and toward other major currencies.  This will have serious ramifications for the global financial system as time rolls along.

#18 Of course the U.S. economy is struggling right now as well.  It shrank at a 2.9 percent annual rate during the first quarter of 2014, which was much worse than anyone had anticipated.

But if U.S. economic numbers look a bit better for the second quarter, that doesn’t mean that we are out of the woods.

As I have stressed so many times, the long-term trends and the long-term balance sheet numbers are far, far more important than the short-term economic numbers.

For example, if you went to the mall today and spent a thousand dollars on candy and video games, your short-term “economic activity” would spike dramatically.  But your long-term financial health would take a significant turn for the worse.

Well, when we are talking about the health of the U.S. economy or the entire global financial system we need to keep the same kinds of considerations in mind.

As for the United States, whether the level of our debt-fueled short-term economic activity goes up a little bit or down a little bit is not what is truly important.

Rather, the fact that we are nearly 60 trillion dollars in debt as a society is what really matters.

The same thing applies for the globe as a whole.  Right now, the citizens of the planet are more than 223 trillion dollars in debt, and “too big to fail” banks around the world have at least 700 trillion dollars of exposure to derivatives.

So it doesn’t really matter too much whether the short-term economic numbers go up a little bit or down a little bit right now.  The whole system is an inherently flawed Ponzi scheme that will inevitably collapse under its own weight.

Let us hope that this period of relative stability lasts for a while longer.  It is a good thing to have time to prepare.  But you would have to be absolutely insane to think that the biggest debt bubble in the history of the world is never going to burst.

Prepper tip – Natural Antibacterial Bandages that you can grow…

“Besides the sopping up of blood and use as a dressing, Wooly Lamb’s Ear has also been used as a poultice and has analgesic properties.

It was used either alone, or to help hold in other herbs like comfrey. It was often used in the aftermath of bee or wasp stings, and reduces the swelling from both.

It was used for centuries as a “women’s comfort” for hemorrhoids, menstrual flow, birthing, for nervous tension, and as a skin aid.

It’s easy to see that with the invention of Tylenol, gauze, feminine hygiene products, cotton packing, and make up removal pads, the knowledge and use of lamb’s ear for this purpose kind of went out the window.

However, now you know you have a natural substitute if everything goes wrong and supplies are not available.”

(Note: This plant said to have originated in the Middle East, near Turkey and Iran.)
              http://chippewa.com/lifestyles/greenspace-lamb-s-ear-a-durable-interesting-plant/article_ade717f2-852c-11df-8b64-001cc4c03286.html

“Wooly Lamb’s Ear, botanical name Stachys byzantina, has been used for centuries as a wound dressing on battlefields. Not only do the soft, fuzzy leaves absorb blood and help it to clot more quickly, they also contain antibacterial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties. All of these factors make this plant a really great alternative to store-bought bandages.”

It can also be used as toilet paper.

The young, tender leaves can be eaten fresh in a salad or steamed as greens.
              http://theprepperproject.com/grow-antibacterial-bandages/

Note: I read that this plant can be invasive. So, plant in a contained area.

I’d say that the central bankers DO know something that we don’t, AND are just trying to place the blame on someone else for the giant mess that they have created.

                    I believe they do,sixpack.

According to an article at zerohedge, on Sat., it looks as though TPTB are looking at other currencies to replace the dollar…..

“The USA is fast running out of friends to support its ‘exorbitant privelege’. Having alienated the Germans over NSA-eavesdropping, ‘boomerang’d the Russians into de-dollarization, tariffed and quantitatively eased China into diversification, and finally ‘punished’ France into discussing the dollar’s demise; it appears no lessor person than the CEO of Total (the world’s 13th biggest oil producer and Europe’s 2nd largest), believes “There is no reason to pay for oil in dollars.” Clearly, based on Christophe de Margerie’s comments, that we have passed peak Petrodollar.”

The DOW has just about bubbled out it seems. When that balloon bursts, it’s game over and billions will be lost into thin air. Folks hedging their investments on paper will see losses instead of gains. Folks hedging their retirement/pensions on paper will lose their sanity when the “big one” hits. All wiped out. Gone, never to return.

I for one have invested in the tangible and “real” properties. I won’t loose one minutes sleep over paper investments.

I will be pissed as hell at 150 dollar/equivilent per barrel of crude though; which will equate to about $7.50 per gallon at the pump. A well known economic forecaster and investment strategist has predicted this event to take place before the end of this year.

I guess time will tell, but I see time running out for the unprepared, and the unwise.

Your congressman does not care so an e-mail is worthless, the only way this can be changed is if the people of this country vote out of office any politician that has been there more than 6 years. Congress has a single digit approval rating, so how do they keep getting reelected?

                • Vicky

Well, strong on the worthless, maybe. Ohio has one “moderate” Republican and one far left Senator. Neither of them will pay attention unless you pay them. WWTI once upon a time our economy was built around the horse and then for the next century it was built around the automobile, but now it’s built around electronics. I just had Two different family groups come from faroff to visit over the Holiday’s and I took them through some of the most scenic country that this world has to offer and the only time they would get their nose out of whatever kind of gadgets they had, was when they couldn’t get a signal, that went for adults as well as the youth. It amazes me how many people aren’t aware of their surroundings whatsoever, it almost made wish that the power grid would go down. Although when and if this does happen there will be many deaths and much hardship. Many of these gadget dependent people will be some of the first to go cause they won’t know what to do without them. Trekker Out. Si vis pacem, para bellum!

Another good article Mr. Snyder. The only main thing I can think of to argue is the time frame. I can see this lasting for another 5 years. I can see the DOW going to 20,000 and gold will be going over that time period up to $3,000.00 per ounce. I myself am starting to buy once again and do not think it can or will go much lower.

The DOW typically makes a double top before a crash. That could happen in August, as I mentioned a couple months ago. Otherwise expect an October/November surprise.

One word that best describes the stock market…..

                    “HYPE”

Merriam-Websters defines that word in several ways.

The meaning is two-fold when it comes to the stock market. One definition = “stimulate and enliven”.

The other definition = “put on and deception”.

They are not. On the contrary, they are loading up with dollars. When Apple, Exxon, and Microsoft start trading them for RMB, I’ll sing a new tune. 🙂

                    Keynesian fools (YOU) believe otherwise.

                  • durango kidd

YMWW: Chinese and Russian use of the dollar is historically a new event. China will continue to use the USD in mutual trade with US which is how many hundreds of billions / trillions of dollars a year???

India will continue to use USD in mutual trade with US too and the EU with Europe because the alternative is to use the RMB which is the currency of their greatest national security threat.

In a truly global society it will be natural for all commerce to be conducted in a number of economically important currencies. That does not mean the death of the dollar by any means.

As long as the USA is a viable nation the dollar will be OUR currency and other nations who want to trade with US will accept OUR dollars. You will die long before the dollar dies on the ash heap of history.

The dollar bill may change in color, or it may be backed by precious metals again, or its comparative value may rise and fall, but the USD will be around for a very, very, very, long time to come.

Get use to it or move to Mexico and use their Peso. 🙂

@Big B. Just asking, but unless you are flush with worthless cash you would rather exchange for Gold. What exactly do you think Gold is going to buy you? In watching a full weekend on AMC Channel “The Walking Dead” series. Not once in SHTF Zomby-land have I seen any one swapping gold for anything. In fact they were using paper fiat money for stating fires. And if you wanted any surplus in a commodity it would be lots and lots and lots of AMMO to go with your weapons cache. With Ammo you can buy pretty much obtain anything and everything, legally or otherwise. Gold is useless for survival. If someone in SHTF came to me with a solid bar of Gold looking to swap for a box of AMMO, I would tell them to go F-off.

                • IMPCALGI

                  @WhoWuddaThunkIt

I would like to preface my remarks that in terms of priorities, my purchase of gold and silver comes AFTER my purchase of lead brass and steel. To say nothing of seeds, water barrels, canning jars, soil amendments, etc etc.

That much being said, gold is NOT useless for survival, especially if by survival we mean being able to rebuild after the collapse. Gold is portable, easy to conceal and it has been used as money for thousands of years longer than the worthless scraps of paper that our so called “leaders” have convinced us is “money”. Gold has been used and valued and accepted in the real world in countries all over the world. REAL nations, not fake movie prop nations on TV shows like the “Walking Dead”. The last time I checked, TV is not real life. In fact, I see most of TV as being propaganda to confuse your thinking, and make you do what TPTB want you to do. Kind of like when Benjamin Shalom Bernanke denigrates gold as a “barbarous relic”… almost like he wants you to spurn it as “useless” so him and his cronies can scarf it all up for themselves.

inbcalgi – Well it is already known fact that in a Real SHTF collapse, there will be about a 90% die off. So I will stick with Lots and Lots of AMMO and Guns to Survive all the way to the finish line. Then after that point when they are gone, I will go around and scoop up all Gold hoarders riches and anything else they will no longer want or need, or what I would now need. Remember you will need to get to the finish line first, before planning a new society. And you can only carry so much. Gold will be an anchor. I will be loaded down primarily with AMMO filled Magazines, which will allow me to obtain most everything I need or want to get me to the finish line. After the mass culling, the rules will change again.

Gold is money. Money is good for buying stuff when there’s stuff to buy. It will be good during hyperinflation. It will be good again after the government regains control of the country.

I have been learning about plants with medicinal uses, how to recognize them, grow them and use them. As I learn more, I have been printing out information and a picture of the plant and adding them to a notebook. I made a notebook for each of my kids too.

Here are a few articles with good information.

I’m right there with you on the herb thingy. My medicinal herb box has Bee Balm, St Johns wort, Chamomile, Catnip, Thyme, Rosemary, yarrow, peppermint, spearmint and a couple of others. I’ve learned how to make a salve/balm, poultice, tincture and compress with the herbs. I’ve been drying and storing and using them for tea. When I get a cut, sprain, pull, bite or a rash I look at it as an opportunity to practice herbal medicine.

I’ve been learning how to recognize a number of wild eatable and medicinal weeds. I’ve been trying to cook with them and most don’t taste very good. For now they seem to be best suited as a filler to bulk up and stretch out what I would be serving. I’m not good enough yet with cooking with the weeds to really call them something you can thrive on. The best so far which tasted pretty darn good was a wild garlic mustard pesto. I put it on some home made noodles, my family liked it well enough that harvesting the WGM in the spring is now on our list of things to do.

I printed tons of web pages with information back in 1998 and 1999. Most of those web sites are gone now, but I still have the printouts. Your posting reminded me about it, so I pulled out one of my notebooks. I was looking at my list of supplies to be purchased and noticed rat poison. I guess that might be a good prep that no one has mentioned.

A number of the items on my list were not checked off, such as hand drill, well-drilling equipment, reel mower, and swing blade. Thankfully, I now have all of them. That makes me happy.

The Build-out of MASS PRISON EXTERMINATION CAMPS. PAY GREAT ATTENTION TO THIS SCAM.

And now Fox News is reporting that TB is spreading within the camps. Lice is worse than officially admitted.

Get a load of the photo on Drudge — it’s a bunch of cocky-looking teenage males displaying sneers. The word “predator” is practically written on their backs.

American fathers had better get their acts together if they have daughters. And adult females had better get whatever personal protection is legally allowed in their state.

Just one taste of what is to come is in the news report from Philadelphia, a “sanctuary city” for illegals….a twenty-something illegal already deported came back to the U.S., made his way to Philadelphia and one night attacked an American woman walking home. Repeatedly raped her, robbed her, and was so dense that he was caught because he used her cell phone and was tracked down.

These people have animalistic inclinations. They have no skills, no education, no sense of responsibility, no scruples, no morals, no respect for human life, no qualms about using violence, no self restraint, and no sense of guilt or remorse. They exist, apparently, only to eat, breed, rape, sleep and stalk. They are, in many ways, more dangerous than an invading military because no resistance is being mustered against them.

The nightmare this will bring across the country is only beginning.

Stop supporting businesses who employ them. It simply isn’t safe and it simply isn’t right for us to bear the costs of all the trouble and expenses they will dump on us. They are making us victims. They are making us fear for our personal safety on the streets we have paid for, in the schools we have paid for, and in the stores where we buy our necessities.

Reject those who support them, employ them, coddle them, or welcome them.

        • FuckingPissed

Most everyone out there is in complete denial about what is about to happen. When you attempt to tell them, they look upon you as if you are insane. It’s not only the scum storm troopers we will be having to kill, but neighbors, even in some cases family members that have not done a damn thing to get ready for this and will be expecting you to just hand over what you have to them. Hard, rough, shitty time is coming.

Some of those family members that show up on the doorstep might come around. What are you going to do with the family members that expect free food but won’t help? They’ll be saying that things will be better in a few months. And they won’t be helping in digging in and defense and planting food.

Be like me SD, tell them don’t bother showing up unless they have 6 months of preps with them for thier family. My preps are an insurance policy I bought for me and mine. Got to tell them that up front.

          • WhoWuddaThunkIt

Seriously. Right after a collapse there will be all out pillage and plunder for 6 months to a year and lots of mass death. You think living off you homestead with a garden and animals will be safe from that first onslaught. Think again. You needs your seeds and all tools hidden for a full year first. Then after the mass die off, then start planting. Right now start burrying and caching lots of canned and dry food hidden from the hungry hoards. You want to appear just as hungry as they and they will leave you alone and move onto those eho keep a full pantry inside their homes. You may have to evacuate and join a group just to defend against the gangs and organized pillagers. Preppers really neef to think this one out how this is all going to go down. Select a place to bug out to where no one else will want to go. Like a remote island a secret place in a swamp. A hidden cave. Just to get through that first year of horror. Then come back to see what’s left. An EMP event yotal grid down will trigger these extremes. Have multiple plans and bury a year supply of canned and freeze dried food in barrels in various places.

            • WaroftheRoses

Well, we don’t have hoards here. We have perhaps 200 people that are on the fringes that will be desperate. We have another 300 that are sheeple. We have another 500 that keep a stock of 30 days supplies and the rest of the county are preppers. The nearest town of any size and trouble is over 200 miles away. I am trying to prep for our situation, and worry that even though we haven’t huge numbers to deal with, we do have people to deal with.

          Something to think about…

Setting Boundaries & Charity In Disaster Situations

Offering Help During A Crisis Should Be Approached Carefully

“…during the Great Depression as 12 million people in America lost their jobs. Job loss led to homelessness, and many took to the rails in an attempt to find work and improve their chances of survival. As the depression continued, and more of the homeless stowed away on freight cars for shelter and free travel to look for work.”

“A code of ethics developed within the hobo population which included helping one-another through the use of ‘hobo signs’, which were symbols written in chalk or coal on fences, posts, sidewalks, homes, buildings, trestles, bridge abutments and railroad line side equipment, alerting other hobos passing through where they could receive a handout, where they would be welcome and which places they should stay clear of.”

“Savvy people learned/reverse engineered the hobo codes and made sure that the ones in front of their house/business said what they wanted it to say and, possibly more importantly, didn’t say what they didn’t want it to say.

The reason Preppers should be aware of hobo symbols is that they are still in use today, and recently I’ve stumbled upon a few sites promoting their use as a helping tool for people who find themselves on foot or riding the rail system, searching for help during a crisis.”

Some steps you can take to keep a buffer between your provisions and those who may not be trustworthy:
-Deliver Extra Provisions To A Neutral Location
          -Trust In Your Discernment
          -Show of Force
          -Keep Multiple Stores of Food
-Give vs. Letting Them Take – Never let people pick what they want from your food stores.
          -Set Ground Rules

            Welllll….

Back during the Great Depression, there was a farm wife and mother of 7 children who never failed to feed any bum who came onto their property looking for something to eat. Even though her own family often did not get enough to eat, she always, without fail, fed at least a simple sandwich to the bums who knocked on their door. It was never much more than a sandwich, but she never turned anyone away.

She was one of God’s angels and God looked on her with approval.

During the Great Depression my Grandmother never turned away a hungry, homeless person either. My Grandparents had a small farm and always worked hard. They never had a lot of money, but were kind and loving.

KY Mom and Anonymous, I have often wrestled with the question of whether to help others in such a scenario as we are facing. In normal times, I have helped out some people during a natural disaster such as flood, tornado, etc. Those circumstances are OK. But considering what’s coming to this land won’t exactly be a natural disaster, I’ve decided I would have to turn away anyone who comes for help. Myself and my own are the only ones I’m responsible for. I cannot and will not be responsible for other people and their families. As the head of a household, it’s your own responsibility to provide for your family and not the taxpayers. If you didn’t prepare, that is on your shoulders and no one else’s. I work full time and pay taxes into the system just like everyone else here. I’m just another individual trying to survive out here. I’m not some govt. agency with tax dollars to waste on freeloaders. those who fail to prepare have prepared to fail and they will definitely pay the price for their failure to listen to people like us.

You may think you will never need to use anything she says or links you to , if so your a fool we all can learn something everyday if we don’t in time we will dry up. Get on with your life and leave the rest of us on this site alone, if we want your input we’ll ask for it, but don’t hold your breath.

Religious people who are gullible exposing themselves to the hoards looking for a handout will be some of those who will die first. You know the do gooders tring to feed the hungry and quickly run over by the masses. That mind set will kill lots of people. Just saying. The world has changed from Hobo times. Today people shoot each other over a parking spot or $5 dollars or for sport. Like I said the gullible will die first.

Some of those tattooed “children” might need more XXL and XL adult size clothes, so put your money where your big mouth is! Or is it about passing out OPM? During the Depression, the farm wives could use a rifle or shotgun, there was death penalty for rapists and killers, and we did not have 10-15 million invaders who are ruining our hospitals while refusing to learn English.

I have been very busy these last few weeks picking and canning my white half runner green beans and yesterday I picked 5 gallons of crowder peas, they will go in the freezer until I have time to can them. My white potatoes are about ready to be dug up along with the reds. Nothing beats the taste of a vine ripened tomato and a few fresh cucumbers. Grapes are looking good and the peach tree is full.

I noticed the other day someone has been in the garden and took our biggest watermelon even though its a month away from being ready. Dumb thieves.
I wish there was a way to store cantaloupe for the winter.

          • Nopittypartyhere

If I pinch he blooms off my potato towers will the potatoes be bigger?

            • Vicky

I don’t think so. Tried that one year and couldn’t see that it helped. It does help with fruit trees, melons and tomatoes. What really helps is adequate fertilizer and water. If the potatoes are still blooming, side dress with potash and a little nitrogen, then water it all in. Good luck!

            • Highspeedloafer

I have never tried that myself.

            • Ugly

              No….

              • Anonymous

Ugly is right, Nopittypartyhere. Pinching the blooms off potato plants will do nothing but hinder their growth and therefore the development underground of the potatoes.

Pinching blooms off onions, however, encourages the continued growth of the onion bulb. When flower blooms appear on an onion plant, it means it has started going “to seed” and will be putting less energy into developing the nice big onion that you want. So do pinch off flower blooms from onion plants.

Tomato blooms also are to be left alone — the bloom is what develops into the tomato. And when the actual little green tomatoes form, grow, and begin to ripen is when you want to keep them well watered because they need a lot of water to form the tomatoes. Ever noticed that when you cut open a tomato, there is a lot of juice inside? That’s why you need to keep tomato plants well watered while they are forming their tomato fruits. Investing in tomato “cages” is almost a necessity as you need to give a tomato plant a support on which to grow — watch for used cages at auctions and for sale prices on new cages at this time of the year.

Get yourself a decent gardening book — best deals to be had at a used book store, or, if your library has a nonfiction book sale you may be able to pick up a very good edition for a buck or so. Ask your library if they have an annual book sale, and if so whether it includes nonfiction books. If you’re out in the boonies, call the library in a nearby larger city — it might be well worth your drive to attend their book sale.

Highspeedloafer, your name doesn’t fit. Anyone that can plant and work a garden is no loafer. I have peas, beans and tomatoes getting ready. My corn is tasseling and potatoes are being dug and eaten fresh.

            • Highspeedloafer

bigben, I guess you are right, but since I don’t always fit in, it works for me. I actually have 3 gardens just because I really enjoy it. I am usually itching to plant before the cold weather ends here in nc. I planted my corn early so I have already filled the freezer with that.

What kind of peas do you plant? Have you ever planted the Hercules variety of crowder peas? They are good raw and even better cooked with bacon fat.

One of my motto’s is, “Be aware globally, prepare locally.”

Having said that. I’m starting to tune out and just focus on my own prosperity bubbly by being self sufficient. The only thing I can change is making rabbit hutches and chicken tractors. Growing food, making water catchment systems, etc.

Cut expenses to the bone. Use what money you have more wisely. Drop Cable/Dish. Keep the Internet for now and save up all the useful information you can.

          • Sierra Dave

In the off chance you’re not joking. And for the urbanites who aren’t self sufficient.

It’s merely a chicken coop of smallish design with a couple wheels on one end. You pick it up like a wheelbarrow and drag it to a new spot so the chickens can forage bugs and eat the grass down. Generally the sides are of chicken wire and the top is where the hens go in at night.

Make it strong. Poultry wire is only strong enough for poultry. Most predators can chew their way through it.

            Search Google or Youtube.

Bought a 275 gallon water safe tank this weekend. Trying to get the residue of the soy based extender out of it. Smells like it was bubblegum flavored. Tank is soaking with oxyclean and vinegar. Starting to break up and scrub away. Gonna take a few days though. Then it will néed bleaching to get the stains out. By the end of the week (Sunday) I plan to have 275 gallons drinking water stored in the basement. Nice thing bout this tank….it has a hole big enough in the top that I could drop a pump in there if I wanted to, instead of letting gravity do the job.

        • WhoWuddaThunkIt

Cleaning a 275 Gal tank. Maybe try using a High pressure water hose and grease cutting soap, rinse and repeat. Good Job. Also Makes for a good rain catchment system, place on a wood pallet or cement blocks for a base.

          • Nopittypartyhere

Took it to the car wash and got most of it out. Letting it soak and using scouring pads on a stick to scrub it. Grease cutting soap sounds like a good idea. Thanks.

a friend saw i had 275 gal tank a while back. you want two more? he said…..hell yes, i answered back. a week later he showed up with them, but the bad news is that they weren’t “food grade”. they had “aquacer580” tags on them. this is VERY important. make sure when you google “food grade”…or look for them on craigslist, use those words to find them. in so cal they sell for 75 to a hundred each. but YOU GOTTA GET THEM THAT HAD FOOD in them! aquacer580 is used in the printing process. anyone know a LOT about it?….the good news is that i now have 550 gallons that i can STILL FLUSH toilets with.

Have you all noticed how the US Military is hijacking Holidays, sports events, etc. and the MSM (Main Steam Media) is supporting this hijacking? The 4th of July has nothing to do with today’s Military. Nascar has nothing to do with the Military, or NFL Football Games with the needless Propaganda Air force flyover over stadiums. The Military has now taken over the Super Bowl and law enforcement for that event. Take over half time shows. Yet the US Military is trying to infiltrate all of these American events to prop up and mask their Low Approval rating and Genocide. Country Music Industry has also been greatly hijacked by impostors glorifying the military. The 4th of July should be celebrating the “People’s WAR Against Tyranny,” and celebrating “American Spirit of Patriots,” not anything what so ever about today’s Military. Wake up folks, the Propaganda machine is ripe with tyranny with the help of the MSM, and PR stunt of our fascist state, hijacking every event that is commonly known as American culture. All attaching and adjustment hardware is forged and the wooden handle is in perfect shape. This is for when power equipment runs out of fuel and the grass grows 3 feet high. I will wait for it to go to seed in the fall and cut, bundle it and hang in the shed to dry to use as feed for the chickens over winter.

Simple…. it is going straight out your exhaust pipes of vehicles for transportation and vehicles for mowing grass.

If you don’t spend $$ for either of those, then your spending it at the grocery stores because other people have been blowing it out their exhaust pipes for you.

Why don’t you get informed on the subject before running your mouth?

You don’t know crap about land-use issues in the west.

            • Walt Kowalski

              @dk….

Why don’t you get honest and come out and admit that you are a Fed?

              • durango kidd

Walt: I am not a FED. I know a lot about land use issues in the West, because I have been looking at ranches in the West for a number of years now. Its a great way to make a buck and feed your family.

I especially have my eye on 200 acres of exceptional land, surrounded by Taxpayer land and waiting for the crash to make a run at it. Good water. Lots of good water.

I know how they operate and what their legal status is visa vie the BLM, or the Forest Service. I also understand the land use and water issues in the West and the problems that ranchers, miners, and recreational users of Taxpayer land have. I am a Real Estate expert, miner, and I donate to various citizens groups battling the FEDs over these issues: particularly on behalf of prospectors.

WE have won some important Court battles in Kalifornia against the FEDS. 🙂

Unfortunately Rancher Bundy doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on. I hope his fee simple land is in a family trust so that the 56 members of his extended family; including his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, do not lose their heritage and inheritance given his greed and stupidity. 🙁

                • sixpack

I’m sorry DK, but LOOKING at ranches and RUNNING a multi-generation ranch are two very different things. The laws to buy one are one thing, but the Bundy’s issue is over laws so old, the federal govt didn’t even have jurisdiction there yet.

You’d need to be familiar with HOMESTEADING LAWS.

                  • durango kidd

Sixpack: Homesteading laws??? Exactly!!! The Bundy Ranch has two components:

The first is the Bundy Homestead, which represents the FEE SIMPLE land that the Bundy Family has owned for generations, as their Homestead, under the Homestead Act.

The Second Component is the Leased Fee (Taxpayer)Land. NO one, not even the FEDS are disputing Bundy’s access to his FEE SIMPLE land that the family owns.

The Homestead Act does not allow ANYONE to homestead 300,000 acres. 640 acres create a square mile. So that should put 300,000 acres of Taxpayer land into perspective for you.

The FEDS are contesting (and rightly so) Bundy’s continued use of Taxpayer land (300,000 acres which is separate and distinct from his Homestead) without paying his lease fees like all the other Ranchers in the West.

YOU need to read the Homestead Act. YOU need to understand the Homestead laws. Google it!!! 🙂

                  • sixpack

DK, the Bundy family was allotted certain rights, long before the feds took control. Those rights are now getting in the fed’s way…Taking someone’s right away because it no longer suits you for them to have that right, is not appropriate.

Sixpack: The Bundy Ranch has FEE SIMPLE rights on its Homestead, including water rights, for water in place and passing through his Homestead. These are part of the rights that run with his FEE SIMPLE land.

Water rights are allotted in the West on running streams and rivers passing through the land to protect farmers and ranchers downstream. these legal water rights were established to quell Range Wars. Those historical water rights that run with his land, like all others, are not in dispute.

Those are ALL the rights that Rancher Bundy has. They are not in dispute by BLM.

Rancher Bumdy has NO right to Taxpayer Land (300,000 acres)for grazing OR water without paying his Lease fees. He severed those lease fee rights when he stopped paying his annual fees. Water on Taxpayer Land which he no longer has legal access to for his cattle, consists of sinks, or ponds, on the land, any springs, and any wells that he may have previously drilled when he was paying his fees.

The 300,000 acres that Rancher Bundy is Trespassing upon, represents approximately 500 square miles!!! If every square inch of that 500 square miles were covered in solar panels providing shade for the desert Tortoise, they could produce 5 times the annual energy needs of the USA.

                    Fuck Rancher Bundy!!! 🙂

If the EU is advocating the demise of the petrodollar, then this whole dollar crash might be part of the NWO plan anyway.

          • durango kidd

The EU is not advocating the demise of the dollar. They are merely trying to jawbone some strength into the Euro because it is toast as it is currently configured and administered.

Expect big changes in Europe. Their banks are worse than OURS and they do not have the mechanisms of the FED via QE to bolster them. All they can do is give depositors a haircut directly. That and unlimited Immigration will generate revolution in Europe.

It will be Europe that causes the Crash. The USA and China will follow. 🙁

for 8 years i told those around me(who i thought were friends), to prepare and what did i get? I got laughed at,ridiculed and called a nut.So be it.
for those of you here i know you probably went through the same thing.I learned my lesson and kept quiet and just did what i needed to do. let those that worship at the altar of stupidity and take the “victim stance” finally have a moment of clarity as the elites and some of their minions

        • Walt Kowalski

I’ve pretty much stopped talking to people about it.

I look at it this way…. if they are so stupid they cannot look at what’s going on and realize that there is a problem, then they have next to zero chance of surviving, no matter how much “prepping” they do. Because they would be so stupid that they would do something dumb that will get them killed right off the bat anyway.

Even for those who can see what’s coming and are taking steps to prepare, the odds of coming through this thing unscathed are pretty darn slim.

I’m looking at the idea of talking about this stuff to the stupid and ignorant as an OPSEC issue now. Sharing any kind of information with them simply will make you someone that they will look to victimize or rat-out to save their own worthless hide.

Anyway, for a counter to Selco, consider this from, ‘The Suicide of Communism: The Case for Patience’

“Communist China and Communist Russia were loosely connected by ideology. Each system was far more rigorous than anything in the West. […] Yet for all of the centralization, for all of the tyranny, and for all of the interference with civil liberties, both systems ended. They did not end with a bang. They ended with a whimper.

There was no collapse. The Chinese economy began to boom almost immediately in 1980. The Russian economy did go through some withdrawal pains, and these lasted for about 10 years. But it has recovered remarkably. Today, Russia is the dashboard camcorder capital of the world.” …

Neither the Russian people or the Chinese people are free.

When preppers don’t talk, it’s kind of hard to form teams. Listen to what others are saying, but don’t give away much. As times get tougher, approach them to form teams. Know their skill sets and explain how you can benefit each other. You can’t make others think, but you can listen to what they think and merge them into a plan. Some preppers, I wouldn’t want to team up with, but I understand what value they have. Case in point, one mouthy prepper was discussing someone else’s preps in an insecure environment. He won’t be part of my team, and I’ll now more about him than he does me. OPSEC is the rule. I think preppers can spot each other, even if no one outright declares themselves to be a prepper.

Feds to Bring in Riot Squad Against Illegal Immigration Protesters

“As illegal immigrants continue to spill across the U.S.-Mexico border, federal authorities are attempting to relocate the migrants from South Texas to housing facilities in states across the nation.

One such facility is located in Murrieta, California, where a large group of protesters recently blocked a bus full of migrants from arriving. The protesters remain there, adamant that illegal immigrants don’t get dumped in their town.

But soon the concerned citizens may be forced to step down–Breitbart Texas has learned that federal agents plan to arrive in Murrieta on Monday with riot gear to ensure that another busload makes it to the housing facility.”

“…local police officers warned the protesters that “it’s going to get ugly.”

“Officers out there warned people that federal agents will be in Murrieta on Monday–they are going to get the next bus through no matter what. Riot gear and shields will be used to push the crowd back.”

Very interesting item. The DW and I were speaking today, and we can’t remember a time (EVEN IN THE 1960’S) where Americans were fighting with/aiming guns at each other like this, BEFORE BARRY GOT ELECTED.

I read today where the Feds are planning to take another run at the Bundy Family/Ranch soon too.

Even the best built boiler can take only so much pressure before it blows!

          “In God We Trust”

          • the renegade braveheart

ES, I saw that same article yesterday. They said that Bundy “crossed the line”. Do they mean he ‘crossed a line’ when he, with the help of his supporters, acted in self-defense of his land? What do the feds think they were doing? They and local law enforcement were the first ones to come in and point weapons at people. Those Bundy supporters did have weapons, yes, but those were for self-defense. And the BLM said that the Bundy supporters were engaged in “unacceptable behavior”, as I recall. I say that the way the feds handled the situation in the beginning, tasering Bundy’s family and attacking people with dogs is “unacceptable behavior”. those militia were acting in self-defense, which is their right. Let the feds bring it. They’ll regret it.

            • sixpack

          • helot

No, Tommy Fox. If they didn’t give away freebies left and right there would be no incentive for them to come here unless they had the promise of a job.

The way it’s looking, a false flag event in connection with this immigration thing is not out of the question.

On another point: For 2,000 generation after generation has looked at the life of Jesus Christ as recorded within the Bible and come to the conclusion that it is true History. Consider that there were countless eye witnesses to His miracles, the 12 Apostles all died terrible deaths but none recanted their Faith, and the rapid growth of the Church following the Cross all bears evidence to the Gospel being True.

Thus if the Christ of History is true, there is a God.

          • helot

According to charitywatch, “The Salvation Army is […] a global organization with its headquarters in London, England. […]

These statements show over $2 billion in income and $1.6 billion in expenses for fiscal 1996.

Since the Headquarters and the World Service Office do not report fundraising costs, and their expenses account for only about 2% of the Salvation Army’s total budget, AIP is not presently rating these entities.

While the parts of The Salvation Army that have been evaluated receive a high rating from AIP based on their financial performance, AIP members should be aware that the organization lacks an independent governing board.” …

I see lots of red flags there. And what’s almost half a billion dollars for administration and such, anyway? Petty cash.

We just added two more shooters to the family tree. One of their favorite things they learned at the competition was how to barter. Every team brought things to trade and it was put on tables and all the teams could barter for what they wanted. My grandson is really proud of the daisey pocket knife, the deer horns and the deer skull he traded for a couple jars of apple butter and a jar of honey. although I would have rather had the apple butter I guess being 12 years old a deer skull is kinda hard to pass up.

          Hell Explained

The following is an actual question given on a University of Arizona chemistry mid term, and an actual answer turned in by a student.

The answer by one student was so ‘profound’ that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle’s Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving, which is unlikely… I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let’s look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle’s Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

          This gives two possibilities:

          1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

          2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.
          So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, ‘It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,’ and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct…… …leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting ‘Oh my God.’

        Hello,

I’m the founder of my own little business group.
I’m reading up and studying on a software called DotNetNuke.
Pretty much it’s a codeless way to create web sites.
Then I put amazon.com links on my many sites.

The other day Amazon.com deposited $112 into my checking account.
I just got back from grocery shopping and spent $95.
Tomorrow I need to gas up my car a touch.

So just by cutting and pasting links into my sites from amazon folks bought products and books.

        We’ve all talked about prepping.

But now how about building for the future.

The site is my own little site for my guys.
As I learn the software I continue to extend and expand the info. on how the software works.

        It works like this…
You take out a hosting plan with PowerDNN for $20.
        You get a database.
Then you web login to your site.
You get some type of .com name.
Then the one database can create as many sites as you like.
We are currently working on video game fan sites.

Feel free to register with my site and you can join my happy band of IT misfits and we’ll be creating many sites.

Note.. It’s free and I require no fees or anything like that.

In time I benefit by having you list a few amazon links on your site header and footer with my code.

Later, I’ll take the cream of the crop and we’ll be spinning off .coms as a crew.

        I hope you join.

        Regards
        Steve

        Fish report.
My wife and I spent the 4th of July weekend at a coastal marina on our boat. We got there Friday morning and crossed the bar and set out some crab traps. I baited them with a concoction that I used for shrimping. We then headed west in search of some salmon, ocean salmon fishing isn’t something that I’ve done very much and I have a lot to learn but we did scratch out a few coho salmon. The ocean was pretty nice. On the way back in we checked the crab traps and they were empty, shrimp bait doesn’t work on dungeness crab.

Then next morning we head out out with tuna carcasses for crab bait. We set our three traps and then tried for salmon again. We scratched out a couple more and then with a gorgeous ocean all about us we decided to fish near shore for rock fish. The fishing was a little slow but still put some in the fish box. There were a number of grey whales we seen near shore. A few of them were closer than a hundred yards of my boat. At the end of the day we pulled the crab traps and they were full. We had an easy boat limit of crabs. We rebaited the traps and set them for an overnight soak. We went back to the boat slip and cooked up our crabs at dock.

This morning we went out and pulled our traps. They weren’t as full as the previous days but they had plenty. We went back in and cleaned up the boat and buttoned it down. I won’t be back to it for a couple of weeks.

On the way home we stopped by my sisters house and cooked up todays catch. The last batch we made a seafood dump. We added to the crab cooker some red potatoes, corn on the cob, little smokies, salmon chunks and some lingcod chunks. It made a very good meal after a long weekend of little sleep, good company and decent fishing.

Sounds like a meal fit for a King. Blue crab report here is bleak (Chesapeake bay). Female (sooks) are way down. Male (Jimmie) crabs are fetching 90 bucks a dozen for extra large. Looks I won’t be eating any anytime soon. My son landed some croakers (hardhead), perch and rockfish on a recent outing. My wife whipped up some crab imperial to top them off and we pigged out.

The only thing I know for sure that’s going to happen is that I’m going to get older. I can’t do anything about the big world, I try to stay informed but at the same time detached from it’s craziness. Letting it get to me will not add to the quality of life and it will steer me away from what I need to do.

Here is another survival tip. At least for Northerners. The round Gobi is edible, gross you say? They are ugly, slimy and oddly squishy. But…they are invasive so no one cares if you take them, there are alot of them in a small area, and they are very aggresive. In a half hour I caught enough to feed three people with one worm and little to no effort. I clipped the heads and fins and dipped them in egg wash and some herbed up cornmeal and deep fried them like I would smelt…tastes just like Perch. Don’t let prejudice kill you, there are many invasive species in North America that deserve a second look and if worst comes to worst there’s always ketchup.

      43. SCTV

This may be off topic but,
1st point in my area we had a SHTF this last week.
A foot of rain flooding out roads and destroying crops in my province. We had roads closed all around us and people being evacuated. Now the military is on the ground setting up sand bags and assisting in preparations. 5 miles from us there is still sand bags being stacked. The bank machines were very busy and were restocked over and over with lineups. The grocery stores did not completely empty but many shelves were cleaned out AFTER the flooding. I spent a day fixing my roof then cut the grass. Glad that I had a 4 wheel drive with good tires because the roads were impassable in some places due to washouts and I had some family that were stuck at home.
Who could plan for this? S$%t happens.
Funny thing is most of us locals shrugged and got to work. Many people who are immigrants or from the communist parts of Canada (British Columbia or Ontario) they were asking for government assistance. These people are the ones who are going to invite in the government when it is a problem that can be handled locally.
2nd had a visit with someone who works in the higher echelon of commerce, had several long chats with her that left me not very comforted. The business that her husband runs is an investment firm with offices across Canada. I will not tell you their clients but I tell you that you probably buy their products. After talking I realized she knows more about things going on than most of what any of us here talk about. If a person on the street talked to her she would sound paranoid and crazy. The reason I mention is that If she is aware of what those of us here are and is researching everything and then some maybe there is something to what we are doing. When I see something coming and try to prepare for it, and I am a just dumb truck driver, is important enough for a major investment company to keep tabs on this makes me take notice.
3rd my Wife put up a dozen batches of strawberry jam this week. I love to foam skim.

WND has reported several cases of police shooting pets in recent years, including an incident Feb. 8 in which an officer in Filer, Idaho, was captured on video killing two Labradors.

Rosenthal said he and his wife are forming a new organization called the Voice for Animals, a nonprofit that will take on and litigate some of the most egregious animal shootings.

“To the extent we are able to find local counsel we are open to going after some of these police departments,” he said.

Well its about time someone stepped up to the plate for these dogs..any time you hear of any other existing animal rights groups say they are the voice of all animals ,, remind them that they have had their heads up their asses for way too long , and someone else stepped in to do their work for them.

Mine would be to stop from being bitten any way possible.

Well, sure, as long as the dog isn’t a “canine officer”. The LEOs here just got a “law” passed that any effort to get their attack dogs to stop biting will get you a three year stretch for assault. God forbid you kill one…that’s murder of an officer.

How come I can’t just off em for “feeling threatened”? The hypocrisy runs deep. The mindset that their dogs are more important than someone else’s dog is sickening.

One tactic many people don’t know, and it has to be administered very sharply and with purpose..no pussing out

maybe only for a moment , some will flee..the way aggressive type will come back for more, but this tactic opens the window to your next move, and gives you time to make that move

7.1 EARTHQUAKE IN MEXICO JUST LIKE FORECASTED ON COMMENT 3172186, JULY 4 AT 9:00 AM ON THE CLOWARD-PIVEN ARTICLE. Said Mexico was in the red zone for a danger of an earthquake, probably 7+.

This proves again that earthquakes can be accurately predicted using past records to forecast the future. This area in the southern Mid Atlantic Ridge at about 49.1 south by 8.3 west, whenever it gets active, 100% in the past has lead to a major earthquake within 15 days, most of the time 7+. It has still yet to fail to be a perfect precursor indication of this.

The other areas mentioned in the comment still remain dangerous, especially New Zealand until July 20, or until other precursor earthquakes show different.

China will no longer be pushed around by anyone. This year China is suppose to surpass the US in GDP and become number one. There is a massive amount of undeclared money that goes into the military of China. It would ONLY take 5% of the Chinese GDP to easily outspend in raw dollars what the U.S. spends on military. Coupled with the fact that the U.S. spends a lot of the militray money on salaries, this shows China is and has become a super power that is more dangerous to the survival of the U.S. than Russia.

Common area will be used for minor duties , commo etc. , food preparation done 50 yards east of the camp to prevent attracting animals , all refuse will be packed out , latrine area 100 yards west of camp established on reverse grade from stream all waste to be buried . Rain clearing out . Tarps suspended above hammocks keeps the area dry below , freeze dried food and food items hoisted above ground with paracord into the trees and cammo’ed.
Rest of the day was working on filtering water , preparing camp gear etc , setting up ir beacons For NOD’s when leaving the camp for personal reasons. .
Radio checks with Actual on progress.
Watches set up for night enjoyed a relative good evening the sound of distant fireworks added to the atmosphere for the training. The sight was chosen from USGS maps for its location two raises 60′ in elevation separated by a ravine with a small Spring fed stream between. The area was very isolated with the sides of the stream bordered by dense cedar trees for concealment .
The exercise was to build an operational concealed base camp for patrolling and moving at night.
Morning day 3 return each individual breaks camp and leaves at diffent intervals and direction to return to prospective home locations. Exercise completed .

I think this article by Michael Snyder is spot on.

So many people (and corporations) *know* the global bottom is going to fall out, but keep plodding on, hoping the music doesn’t stop playing till they get a seat. I’d say that is denial, at best. Looks like they won’t be playing the ‘denial game’ in China much longer though, the chickens have come home to roost. The U.S. is next.

“This Could Be The Last Straw” 90% Of China Loan Guarantors Bankrupt
        (from ZeroHedge site)

In Wenzhou – dubbed the capital of China’s private businesses – nearly 90 per cent of loan guarantors have failed since the start of the credit crisis arising from the underground banking system, according to the media. As SCMP reports, although their services are critical for the economic system and the millions of small firms – that provide the majority of the mainland’s jobs – hundreds of loan guarantee groups are creaking under the weight of bad loans and are simply unable to bear any more. “It could become the last straw that breaks the camel’s back,” exclaims the head of a local law firm, “without the privately owned small businesses, China’s economy won’t have a future.” But PMIs are up so everything’s fine?

As The South China Morning Post reports-
Mainland loan guarantors have found themselves ensnared in the woes of the underground banking sector following a fresh wave of bankruptcies around the country.

Creaking under the weight of bad debts, hundreds of guarantee groups would be unable to bear even more, although their services are critical for the economic system and the millions of small firms that provide the majority of the mainland’s jobs.

“It is by all means a risky business,” said Wang Xiao, a Zhejiang entrepreneur who invests in a loan guarantee business. “An increasing number of loan defaults will soon force us to close down the business.”

In Wenzhou, nearly 90 per cent of loan guarantors have failed since the start of the credit crisis arising from the underground banking system, according to the media.

The city, dubbed the capital of China’s private businesses, had pinned hopes on the companies offering capital guarantee services to bail out troubled small companies when Beijing allowed it to legalize the underground banks.

“It could become the last straw that breaks the camel’s back,” said Yan Yipan, the head of law firm Zhejiang Panyuan, which mainly deals with cases related to financing. “Without the loan guarantee services, it will be more difficult for small companies to do business.”

Rampant loan-shark schemes in Wenzhou resulted in the collapse of the city’s economy, with dozens of underground banking operators and investors either committing suicide or fleeing the country.

Seems so well planned and orchestrated , doesn’t it?

Illegal immigration is breaking a Federal law ! One that our so called law makers ( Congress ) passed into law . The President and Congress should see that these laws are enforced through the chain of command . It is the responsibility of the law enforcement agencies to enforce the law . The law is the law, no matter if it is Federal or State . It is to be obeyed . Yes , illegal immigration is a Federal law so is paying Federal income taxes . Why should one be enforced and not the other ? The law should not discriminate between people and circumstances ! I would say this is a dereliction of duty by the President , members of Congress and grounds for dismissal

        Lessons learned :
Communications essential to team movement especially in the dark , use of short codes and proper radio procedure limited to essential commo traffic. In a hostile environment only recieve mode to be active unless communication essential to the mission .

Proper use of mapping and land navigation skills to determine the most effective route based on elevation and terrain data acquired from USGS maps with alternate routes determined in advance .

Allow more time than planning indicates to reach objective way points which become more critical in emergency conditions or due to inclement weather conditions. Practice sheeting watches .

Pack weight has to be reduced to allow more effective movement. Pack only what is required to support your designated scenario . Keeping packs streamlined without multiple molle pouches allows for more effective and quit movement. Re-evaluating equipment packed , i.e. snugpack jungle bag vs poncho liner.

Use of NOD’s requires practice , but the ability to see and travel in the dark is defiantly an asset.
Major point of the exercise was nocturnal land navigation , training points out the strengths and weakness of the team.

Use of concealment in setting up hasty camps and operational camps which are required for post SHTF use. Clark jungle hammocks performed admirably kept all dry.

All training applications applicable to post SHTF patrolling and active evasion of OPFOR ,
Gaining experience into field living under mobile conditions. Food , water purification , etc. Use of alcohol stoves for heating / purifying water

All people should rehearse you bug out plans they do not have to be as elaborate as this exercise but should reflect the reality of what could occur gaining valuable experience could save a lot of suffering in the future .

Multiple surveys have shown that, in general, almost everyone dislikes congress in general. The problem lies with the fact that those same people, in general, believe that THEIR congressman is the exception. This type of thinking by the american voter MUST stop before any real change can happen!
