University scientists claim left-wing violence is caused by global warming… “the planet made them do it”

In what seems like a nod to violent protesters like the unhinged left-wing rioters who recently attacked Milo Yiannopoulos at UC Berkeley, Iowa State University scientists have published an analysis that claims global warming is the root cause behind the increase in violence we’re witnessing right now across society.
Not only does the analysis fall for the global warming climate hoax based on fraudulently manipulated temperature data and severe scientific fraud committed by the NOAA, it also seeks to dissociate violent left-wing rioters from any responsibility for their own behavior. In effect, the analysis asserts that “victims of global warming” are not responsible for their own hateful, destructive actions because, essentially, “the planet made them do it.”
This fits perfectly with the victimology of the hate-filled Left, which now openly justifies murdering individuals they don’t like in order to halt their free speech. It also reinforces the “victimology” philosophy of the failing Left by providing a convenient excuse for rioters who destroy property, commit arson and physically attack innocents. Their excuse is now, “global warming made me do it.”
Let’s examine the assertions in the analysis published by Courtney Plante, postdoctoral “fellow” at Iowa State University and Craig A. Anderson, billed as “a Distinguished Professor of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University.”
Rioters aren’t responsible for their actions… it’s global warming!
“When people get uncomfortably hot, their tempers, irritability, and likelihood of physical aggression and violence increase,” says the analysis, implying that global warming somehow turns all of society into a kind of “Hell’s Kitchen” sweltering oven that relieves people of responsibility for their actions.
To state what should be obvious by now, even the most ardent supporters of global warming assert that global temperatures have risen very slightly, from an average of about 57 degrees (F) to just barely over one degree higher (58.7 degrees). Are we now to believe that people calmly sitting in a root at 57 degrees will become enraged, violent rioters at 58.7 degrees? That’s the absurdity put forward by these scientists.
Even that question assumes the global warming alarmists are telling us the truth… and they actually aren’t. Global temperature has risen and fallen based largely on volcanic eruptions and solar activity variations throughout Earth’s history. The following chart, courtesy of LongRangeWeather.com, shows temperature variations over the last 4000 years or so:
It shows that global temperatures were actually far warmer in 1100 B.C. than today. In the 1600s, global temperatures plummeted into a “mini ice age” that only returned to normalcy in the mid-1800s.
What we now know is that global warming data are routinely FAKED by the government to fit the climate change narrative.
Here’s the chart of U.S. temperatures published by NASA in 1999. It shows the highest temperatures actually occurred in the 1930’s, followed by a cooling trend ramping downward to the year 2000:
Meanwhile, the “97% of scientists agree with global warming” narrative is a complete fabrication based on obvious scientific fraud.
And never mind that 1,000 science papers have already challenged the false narrative of man-made climate change.
It also turns out that 100% of the “warming” claimed by NOAA and the U.S. government is actually built on altered data:

If you filter out just the “adjustments” to the raw data, here’s what you find: Temperature data being systematically (and fraudulently) altered to create the illusion of recent “warming…”
Shocking level of intellectual dishonesty
Getting back to the Iowa State “science” article, it claims that “When people get uncomfortably hot, their tempers, irritability, and likelihood of physical aggression and violence increase.” Even if this is true, it’s irrelevant if the entire false narrative of global warming is a fraud.
Yet the article continues to argue that people can get “hot and bothered” in heated rooms and therefore this means global warming makes people violent:
In one study, participants in the cold and hot rooms perceived a series of filmed interactions as being more hostile and aggressive than participants in the comfortable room. In another, participants in the cold and hot rooms scored higher than those in the comfortable room on a state hostility scale. In a final study, participants in warmer and cooler rooms, relative to those in comfortable rooms, responded to an opponent’s ambiguous provocation during a competitive reaction-time task with outbursts of intense blasts of noise. The researchers conclude, based on the collection of studies, that uncomfortably hot temperatures increase aggression.
What you’re seeing in their article is astonishing intellectual dishonesty. To equate a very slight “warming” of the planet (if it even exists) with human behavior observed in people who are forced to sit in very hot rooms is wildly dishonest. Why? Because the temperatures were wildly manipulated to extremes. Say the authors:
For some, the room they sat in was a comfortable temperature (e.g., 75 F). For others, the room was particularly cold (e.g., 57 F) or hot (e.g., 97 F)…
But the planet’s average temperature isn’t 97 F or we’d already be dead! As revealed above, even the most ardent global warming pushers only claim a little over one degree increase in average global temperatures. Thus, a more accurate scientific test of human behavior would be to have one group sitting in a room at 75 F, and another group sitting in a room at perhaps 77 F, then observe any difference in their behavior.
Instead, this study stuck people in COLD rooms at 57 F and HOT rooms at 97 F, from which these disingenuous science authors claim their behavioral aggression proves “global warming” is causing human violence and aggression.
Al Gore, by the way, says his apocalyptic global warming predictions have all come true, but you just couldn’t tell because, well, you’re not a scientist.
If global warming was strong enough to unleash all these apocalyptic predictions, don’t you think we’d notice?
Another global warming LIE: Extreme weather never existed until humankind started burning fossil fuels
In yet another kow-tow to the wildly false narrative of global warming, the authors also seem to argue that global warming is solely responsible for all “extreme weather” events which make people mad. From the article:
Increasingly frequent and extreme weather destroys homes and jobs and requires considerable emergency and recovery spending. The economic impact is disproportionately felt by disadvantaged and vulnerable populations, resulting in increased rates of poverty and income disparity. As with malnourishment, this is a problem by itself, but it also can lead to increased aggression: Income disparity can lead to life dissatisfaction, resentment, dissent, a desire for retribution, and even violence.
Once again, the authors fall for a common junk logic pitfall of global warming cultists: Imagining that no extreme weather ever existed on the planet before Al Gore declared global warming to be the cause. In truth, extreme weather has taken its toll with stunning regularity across the entire planet, spanning all of recorded human history (and geological records prove that extreme weather was taking place long before humans ever arrived on the scene). The bizarre idea that until the industrial revolution arrived, the entire planet was a serene, peaceful “mild” climate with no hurricanes, droughts or floods is just so incredibly stupid that it doesn’t even deserve one iota of scientific credibility.
Fake global warming also blamed for terrorism!
Yet the authors go even one step further down the road of climate change quackery, even claiming that global warming is, in effect, responsible for the rise of terrorism! From the analysis article:
In fact, many of these same climate-change-driven factors aid in terrorism recruitment: Uncertainty and frustration about one’s livelihood, seeing others who seem unfairly unaffected, and the belief that there are no other viable options to sustain oneself may all contribute to terrorism.
Lost in their twisted argument is the far more obvious fact that LIBERTY is the single greatest way to stop poverty and uplift humankind through opportunity, self-determination and self-reliance. It is the lack of liberty — i.e. tyrannical government regimes — that trap people in cycles of desperation and poverty, often leading to North Korea-style mass starvation. Case in point: Socialist Venezuela, where a desperate population of clueless Leftists brought into power the very same socialist regime that’s now starving them to death.
But wait, there’s more! The authors also argue that “global warming” could lead to civil war due to people from foreign cultures engaging in mass migration (ecomigration) invasions of other areas, causing cultural conflict that can lead to war:
Among the most prominent group-level effects anticipated is ecomigration, where entire groups migrate in response to the physical, economic, or political instability brought about by an ecological disaster. Although ecomigration is not, in and of itself, a sign of aggression, it can lead to hostility and conflict through a sudden increase in competition for an area’s resources, bringing together people with opposing or incompatible worldviews, concerns about the intentions of both the migrant group and the local population, and a host of socioeconomic issues.
It seems these authors are inadvertently arguing in favor of Donald Trump’s border security executive order that sought to temporarily halt immigration from terror-prone nations. They are concerned about foreigners, essentially, invading our nation. Not because they might be terrorists, mind you, but because global warming made them do it.
The authors conclude their article with this summary: “Clearly, there is a need, and indeed there are many ways, for psychologists to weigh in on the issue of climate change and its relation to violent behavior.”
No doubt Leftists will leap on this call to action, decrying all the extreme violence carried out by their cult followers as “caused by climate change” which is, of course, blamed squarely on Republicans who support energy independence. Thus, when left-wing rioters are beating Milo Yiannopoulos fans in the face with baseball bats, they will be able to shout, “WE ARE THE VICTIMS!” (while citing “science” to prove it).
Yes, in academia, “achievement” is defined as your ability to make the utterly ridiculous sound scientifically plausible.
And that’s what all this has come to: Libard logic pretending to be science. It’s enough to make us all angry, regardless of the temperature in our room.

Over a century ago, the United States of America went through a divisive and bloody Civil War that separated the people of this nation bone from marrow. It split friends, families and eventually the nation itself as a line was drawn dividing the Union States of the North from the newly formed Confederacy of the Southern States.
Ostensibly, the war that followed was fought over the abolition of slavery, a devilish practice that never should have been allowed in the first place, and although it was the basic issue for the conflict – as is the case so much of the time – there were a myriad of other issues involved.
One – in my opinion – was just plain stubbornness and pride and the dogged determination that the South would not let itself be told what to do by the other half of the country, but trade, tariffs and different attitudes and beliefs about just how far a federal government could go in setting the tone and making laws to be obeyed by all the states were also involved.
The point I’m trying to make is that the feelings festered so long and ran so deep that men whose fathers had stood shoulder to shoulder in the war for independence faced off across fields of battle and killed each other.
The Civil War never should have happened, and had cooler heads prevailed on both sides, never would have. Southerners had to know that slavery was an abomination to the principles they had fought and died for in the Revolution.
No man has the right to own another man, to reap the fruits of his labor for nothing, to consider his children nothing more than commodities to be sold off or traded away on a whim, separating
families and breeding human beings like livestock.
But instead of acknowledging the very obvious evil of this situation, politicians from the South, convinced that the economy of the Southern States was dependent on slavery, chose to become a separate nation and soon after over six hundred thousand Americans lost their lives in a senseless war that would set the Southern States back a half century.
Surely, had it been approached by fair, level-headed men on both sides of the issue, abolition could have been achieved without war. But the rhetoric grew ever hotter. Brash young men on both sides, who had never fired a gun in anger, viewed a war as the pinnacle of romanticism, and implacable politicians refused to give an inch.
Is this not the same attitude we see on the streets of America today?
I see young people interviewed on television who can’t even articulate the reason they are protesting. Others bent on destruction who probably espouse no cause but chaos.
I’ve seen hysterical protestors screaming about First Amendment rights which they seem to think only protects them and those who think like them and that the opposition has no first amendment protection and should be shouted down at all costs.
The rhetoric is becoming hotter and more nonsensical, the radical element more apparent, the violence and destruction of property more common place.
The pot is boiling and it’s only a matter of time before there will be blood on the streets.
Americans have the right to civil disobedience, a right to gather and demonstrate against some policy they feel is unfair or harmful to the country at large, but they do not have the right to interrupt commerce, break windows, burn cars or do bodily harm to those who disagree with them.
People who won’t listen to reason, who ignore the law of the land and who try to stifle the opinions of others tend to forget that there is an element of violence on the other side as well, a side that, thankfully, so far has not yet come forth.
But, should these conditions continue, someday soon the violent elements of both persuasions will find themselves on the same streets, and what will ensue will not be pretty.
Learn from history, or repeat it.

An electrical maintenance company has announced it can no longer serve customers in the multicultural Swedish city of Malmo, citing “security risks” and increasing violence.
In a message posted on the company’s Facebook page, Högs EL states that it can no longer operate in Malmo due to skyrocketing “violence and shootings”.
“We are not taking on new job(s) there unless there is a drastic change….we need to think about the safety of our employees,” states the post.
Malmo, the third largest city in Sweden, has a 43% foreign population, with the largest proportion of migrants coming from Iraq. The Rosengard area of the city is 90% Muslim.
In an interview with Breitbart, Chief Superintendent Torsten Elofsson, who retired after 42 years on the Malmo police force, explained how mass immigration has turned some areas of Malmo into mini war zones.
“Malmo is infamous for explosions. Yet thankfully nobody has been killed by the explosions yet – some of them are just used to frighten people,” said Elofsson.
“We had one case in Rosengard where a group were given a court order to leave an apartment because they were a disturbance for the neighbours. And then suddenly hand grenades and explosions outside the office of the real estate company.”
Elofsson said immigration has caused a crime surge in Malmo, with migrants comprising the “majority” of people being arrested in the city. Police are afraid to visit some “no-go” areas because their vehicles are attacked.
Mass riots, torching of vehicles and sexual assaults have become routine in Malmo and other cities since Sweden opened its doors to mass immigration. The influx of new migrants as a result of the refugee crisis has only made the situation worse.
The situation in Sweden is so dire that even some Somali immigrants are considering returning home, saying that areas of some Swedish cities are more dangerous than their notorious homeland.
As we reported last week, soaring crime being committed by Muslim migrants has become part of a national conversation in Sweden after veteran police officer Peter Springare blew the whistle on how almost all of the serious crimes in his city were being carried out by Muslims.
Springare’s warning was backed up by Gothenburg police officer Tomas Åsenlöv, who revealed that cops were being told to implement Code 291 rules to hide “all information about the immigration-related crime.”

Virtually anyplace that you dig you will strike the water table (surface of the aquifer) within 300 ft, unless you first strike bedrock (nonporous rock). It’s possible for professionals to use seismographs to determine the presence of water under your ground and at what depth).
Aquifers are classified as uncontained (water moving through sand or soil) or contained (water moving within porous rock such as limestone, silt, shale, or clay at the rate of millimeters per day).
You dont think any rock is porous? Ever put a rock in a campfire and listened to it sizzle and crack? Thats the water inside the rock boiling.
Sand will filter water to potable quality in a pinch. Its recommended that you boil it even after this to ensure that all bacteria are inert or dead.
Water obtained after porous rock filtration (sourced via a contained aquifer) will actually be virus free, solely through the filtration mechanism BUT, being filtered at the rate of millimeters per day, these sources are easily exhausted. Protecting contained aquifers is essential.
The most common causes of aquifer destruction are saltwater contamination, industrial pollution, and overuse of wells and taps (overpopulation).
Of particular importance is the conservation of wetlands; they cannot be functionally duplicated through artificial means and are excellent and essential natural purifiers of water.
Desalination plants work through reverse osmosis and are not economically viable for large scale water production.
You cannot filter saltwater through a Big Berkey or any other gravity filtration device. You need massive positive pressure for that and it is very high maintenance, as the filters blow out frequently.
They make desalination machines for boats but they cost $4000. Alternative ways to get water are a distillation column and a dehumidifier.

This law of blackbody radiation says that energy, or E, which is emitted from from a body with a temperature, or T, is proportional to the fourth power of the temperature, or E=oT4 . What does this mean? Since the average in-radiation from the sun at any specific location at the same time of year is pretty much a constant, “any heating due to a greenhouse effect would be expected to reach a self-limiting equilibrium very quickly after only a modest rise in temperature. The reason is that ‘out-radiation’ will overpower the greenhouse effect after a very small temperature rise because of the enormous countervailing effect of the Stefan-Boltzman law.” I’ll bet you won’t see this fact anywhere, anytime, in the popular media. In a similar vein, Dr. Richard Lindzen of MIT notes “studies rarely consider that the impact of carbon on temperature goes down—not up—the more carbon accumulates in the atmosphere. Even if emissions were the sole cause of the recent temperature rise—a dubious proposition—future increases wouldn’t be as steep as the climb in emissions” and cites another fact: he believes clouds and water vapor will counteract greenhouse emissions. Dr. Lindzen discussed this, along with Dr. Spencer and others, at a conference, where they noted climate system has a negative feedback mechanism — a dampening effect on carbon dioxide-caused warming rather and suggest that a doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide will produce a warming of no more than 0.5 degrees Celsius, well within natural variation.
An article by well-known weatherman John Coleman at KUSI.com also discusses the forcing, or runaway global warming phenomenon at http://www.kusi.com/story/14072205/global-warming noting “It is true that CO2 can absorb heat a little faster than nitrogen and oxygen but it becomes no hotter because it cannot absorb any more heat than there is available to the other gases. This is against the laws of thermodynamics. All gases share their heat with the other gases. Gas molecules fly around and are constantly colliding with other gas molecules so they immediately lose any excess heat to other molecules during these collisions. That’s why the air is all one temperature in any limited volume.• Even if CO2 levels were many times higher, radiative heating physics shows that it would make virtually no difference to temperature because it has a very limited heating ability. With CO2, the more there is, the less it heats because it quickly becomes saturated. For a detailed explanation go to: http://www.geocraft.com/WVFossils/greenhouse_data.html.” As evidence, the article cites Venus and Mars, that have atmospheres that are almost entirely CO2 (97%), yet have no runaway global warming, as well as noting that in the past the Earth has had CO2 concentrations hundreds of times higher, yet there were ice ages at the same time.
Dr. Fred Singer, states about water vapor in the Aug., 2007 edition of Imprimus: “…it is quite possible that the water vapor feedback is negative rather than positive and thereby reduces the effect of CO2.” . Singer notes this could be done several possible ways: if CO2 increases warming of the ocean there could be a higher rate of evaporation, leading to more cloudiness and humidity. The resulting low clouds would then reflect incoming solar radiation back into space, thus cooling the earth. It appears even the water vapor issue is, uh, cloudy, and in any event, any way you cut it, examples like these illustrate the self-regulating nature of earth, within a broad range, which is seen throughout the ages, again and again.

That “The postulate of positive feedback in the system (i.e., that water vapor multiplies the effect of CO2, which raises air and ocean temperatures driving even more CO2 and H2O into the atmosphere, and so on) has been disproven soundly in thorough experimentation … by Planet Earth. The geological record shows that every combination of low and high CO2 (slightly lower than present up to 20X current numbers) and high and low temperature (from tropical poles to ice sheets nearly to the equator) has been tried, at great length, and no “runaway” has occurred. The minute range of values we’re now experiencing and playing with thus has no more chance of causing runaway than spitting in the ocean has of causing a tsunami.

With hundreds of well-known climate scientists and tens of thousands of other scientists publicly declaring their disbelief in the catastrophic forecasts, coming particularly from the GISS leadership, it is clear that the science is NOT settled.
The unbridled advocacy of CO2 being the major cause of climate change is unbecoming of NASA’s history of making an objective assessment of all available scientific data prior to making decisions or public statements.
As former NASA employees, we feel that NASA’s advocacy of an extreme position, prior to a thorough study of the possible overwhelming impact of natural climate drivers is inappropriate. We request that NASA refrain from including unproven and unsupported remarks in its future releases and websites on this subject. At risk is damage to the exemplary reputation of NASA, NASA’s current or former scientists and employees, and even the reputation of science itself.

Even Isaac Asimov, in discussing the warming and cooling that caused the ice ages, noted “There are too many possible triggers and the difficult task it to choose among them.” He then cited various possibilities such as variations with the sun, such as the Maunder minimum, variations in the Earth’s orbit or tilt of the axis, causing Milankovich’s “Great Seasons” of 25,000 years, or the earth passing through a cloud of galactic dust, among others. Yes, Asimov did consider CO2, but felt that even an increase to 600 ppm would only cause a slight increase in temperature. At the time of his writings on this, he predicted a rise from 290 in 1900 to 320 ppm by 2000, but felt it would take much more than that to seriously affect the climate. Asimov felt the real threat to humanity was energy starvation. Energy is needed to remedy issues ranging from water to pollution (e.g., think of the drought in California, and how that could be helped by a nuclear plant built safely, to use for desalination of sea water).
Farley Mowat, the noted Canadian leftist (from my wife’s hometown!) and Greenpeace activist, wrote in his book West Viking (written while we were still in the global cooling scare) that there were probably at least dwarf forests growing in Greenland when the Vikings arrived in 985 AD and the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History reports “… Erik the Red discovered two areas of southwest Greenland which were suitable for farming, with grasslands and small stands of alder and birch.” You will note that it is too cold today for any type of forests to grow in Greenland, and there is zero ability to farm, unless modern technologies are utilized – and even then, crop selection is very minimal. Mowat also reported the Arctic pack ice was much less in that Viking discovery era than today. Dr. Fred Singer writes that when the Vikings first settled Greenland, they grew vegetables, and it was warm enough to allow the population to grow to 3,000 people and by 1100 AD the place was thriving enough that they had their own bishop and twelve churches. Nature reported in a 2010 article that clamshell studies also confirm Norse records.

Indeed, when I was researching in Iceland at Skaftafell Nat’l Park two years ago, Icelandic historians know from extant deeds – and have put in the displays at the park – that somewhere around FORTY old Viking era farms are currently buried under the Vatnajokull glacier system (the largest in the world outside of Greenland and Antarctica). In other words, it was simply much warmer in the Icelandic settlement era than it is today. Al Gore may want to visit Skaftafell National Park in Iceland on one of his many jet-setting, carbon burning trips to check the facts himself. More evidence: There are records of grape growing occurring in places in northern Europe back during this optimum where they can’t grow today. Gregory McNamee, in the Weather Guide Calendar (Accord Publishing, 2002) noted that wine connoisseurs might have gone to England for fine vintages (can’t grow fine vintage grapes there today!), that heat loving trees like beeches carpeted Europe far into Scandinavia, and Viking ships crossed iceberg free oceans to ice free harbors in Iceland…”. Art Horn writes that “In the winter of 1249 it was so warm in England that people did not need winter clothes. They walked about in summer dress. It was so warm people thought the seasons had changed. There was no frost in England the entire winter. Can you imagine what NOAA would say if that happened next year? “

Similarly, two recent papers, reported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, one in Earth-Science Reviews and the other is in Chinese Science Bulletin, reported studies of “key chemical contents in micro-drilled giant clams shells and coral samples to demonstrate that in the South China Sea the warm period of the Middle Ages was warmer than the present. The scientists examined surveys of the ratio of strontium to calcium content and heavy oxygen isotopes, both are sensitive recorders of sea surface temperatures past and present. The aragonite bicarbonate of the Tridacna gigas clam-shell is so fine-grained that daily growth-lines are exposed by micro-drilling with an exceptionally fine drill-bit, allowing an exceptionally detailed time-series of sea-temperature changes to be compiled – a feat of detection worthy of Sherlock Holmes himself. By using overlaps between successive generations of giant clams and corals, the three scientists – Hong Yan of the Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Willie Soon of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and Yuhong Wang of Fudan University, Shanghai – reconstructed a record of sea-surface temperature changes going back 2500 years. The Roman and Mediaeval Warm Periods both showed up prominently in the western Pacific and East Asia. Sea surface temperatures varied considerably over the 2500-year period.” Dr. Soon concludes :” “The UN’s climate panel should never have trusted the claim that the medieval warm period was mainly a European phenomenon. It was clearly warm in South China Sea, too.”

Fact is, it was as warm, or warmer, during the Medieval Warm Period, the Roman Warm Period, and the Minoan Warm Period. Fact is, we are still emerging from the LIA (Little Ice Age) in the 1800s, so OF COURSE we are warmer.. it was the coldest it had been almost since we started into the last Ice Age. In fact, if you google a study by Kegwin on marine radioisotopes in the Sargasso Sea, we are indeed much warmer than 150 year ago, but WE ARE STILL BELOW TH 3,000 YEAR AVERAGE TEMP!!! Another study, by earth sciences professor Zunli Lu (formerly of Oxford, now at Syracuse Univ.), studied samples of crystal called ikaite, which forms in cold water, and will melt at room temperature. Samples were taken by Lu and colleagues, examined for variation caused by temperature fluctuations during formation, and dated. The result? Lu writes: “This ikaite record qualitatively supports that both the Medieval Warm Period and Little Ice Age extended to the Antarctic Peninsula.” What does this mean? It means that the MWP was not simply a localized event in northern Europe, or even the northern hemisphere. And if it was as warm 1,000 years ago as now all over the world, Al Gore is simply wrong. In a study by Kobashi, et al, entitled Summit Surface Snow Temperatures of Greenland, found at http://www.nipccreport.org/articles/2012/mar/20mar2012a1.html, there is further corroboration of Dr. Tim Ball’s contention that the MWP was real. In sum, this study illustrated that: “Greenland surface snow temperature variability over the past 4000 years at the GISP2 site (near the Summit of the Greenland ice sheet) with a new method that utilizes argon and nitrogen isotopic ratios from occluded air bubbles. In so doing, the eight researchers report that the average Greenland snow temperature over the past 4000 years was -30.7°C, while the current decadal (2001-2010) surface temperature at the Greenland Summit is -29.9°C, which they say is as warm as it was there in the 1930s-1940s. And they add that “there was another similarly warm period (-29.7°C) in the 1140s (Medieval Warm Period), indicating that the present decade is not outside the envelope of variability of the last 1000 years.” Even more telling, prior to the last millennium they report “there were 72 decades warmer than the present one, in which mean temperatures were 1.0 to 1.5°C warmer.” In fact, they found that “during two intervals (~1300 BP and ~3360 BP) centennial average temperatures were nearly 1.0°C warmer (-28.9°C) than the present decade.”
The article concludes that “Clearly, there is nothing unusual, unnatural or unprecedented about Greenland’s recent relative warmth, as it is clear that much warmer temperatures have been experienced there over many prior prolonged periods without any help from anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. There is no valid reason to believe that mankind’s burning of coal, gas and oil has had, or is having, any measureable impact on the climate of that part of the world, or any other part of the planet.”
The Medieval (and earlier Roman) Warm Periods were not just restricted to Europe, as frantic warmers try to claim. From studies of the ratio of strontium to calcium content and heavy oxygen isotopes in corals and Tridacna gigas (giant clams) Yan, Soon and Wang concluded that these warm periods also occurred in the East Asia/Western Pacific area (see Earth Science Reviews, Dec. 13, 2014, doi: 10.1016/j.earscirev.2014.12.003 )
One further, fascinating study which corroborates the MWP was a study by Belt et al. in 2007, described at http://www.nipccreport.org/articles/2012/jan/11jan2012a3.html where scientists “used a biomarker (IP25), which authors Vare et al. (2009) describe as a mono-unsaturated highly-branched isoprenoid that is synthesized by sea ice diatoms that have been shown to be stable in sediments below Arctic sea ice.” The NIPCC reports concludes “ Based on IP25 data obtained from a marine sediment core retrieved from Barrow Strait (74°16.05’N, 91°06.38’W), which they compared with “complementary proxy data obtained from analysis of other organic biomarkers, stable isotope composition of bulk organic matter, benthic foraminifera, particle size distributions and ratios of inorganic elements,” the five UK scientists of Vare et al. developed a spring sea ice record for that part of the central Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Results indicated evidence for a decrease in spring sea ice between approximately 1200 and 800 years before present (BP), which was followed by an increase in sea ice over the last 400 years of their record (between 800 and 400 years BP (emphasis mine). “Interestingly,” as they describe it, “these latter two intervals coincide with, respectively, the so-called Mediaeval Warm Period and Little Ice Age, which commonly feature in lower latitude palaeo-climatic studies.”
Subsequent to the Medieval Climatic Optimum, the Greenland historical records show there was a severe drop in temps, which initially started around 1100 AD, briefly plateaued, then dropped even further through the late 1400s, only finally to sharply rise again very roughly around 1500 (by this time the Vikings had been frozen out of Greenland, and there were none left residing there), followed by a precipitous fall again starting later in the 1500s to the temperature nadirs of the Little Ice Age very roughly around the time of the American Revolution. Importantly, each of these optimums – the ones very roughly centered around 1000 AD and 1500 AD were far above today’s supposedly record high temperatures Al Gore frantically is warning us about. Even further west, into North America, in the first Mediaeval Warm Period, the Rocky Mountains had a snow line 1,000 feet higher than today. (Meanwhile, in the global freeze out between the two optimums, Chinese records show centuries old citrus orchards froze, the Thames froze up to 5’ in depth and James Aber writes around 1215 in the Alps, an oberriederin (irrigation canal) was ”overrun by (the) advance of the Aletsch glacier; (with) the “canal head still covered by the modern Aletsch glacier” to this very day, and the passage from Iceland to Greenland became impassable around the mid 1300s due to the expansion of sea ice, with Greenland soon abandoned.
Research by the Chinese show similar warm periods on the other side of the world, including one report noting in the northeast of China “During the last 500 years, apparent climate fluctuations were experienced, including two cold phases from the 1470s to the 1710s and the 1790s to the 1860s, two warm phases from the 1720s to the 1780s, and after the 1870s. The temperature variations prior to the 1500s show two anomalous warm peaks, around 300 and between approximately 1100 and 1200, that exceed the warm level of the last decades of the 20th century.”
Physicist Russell Rickert has also reviewed Viking agricultural settlements in Greenland that had to be abandoned after 1300 AD (the last supply ship to get through the ice was reportedly 1406, with three other ships in 1381, 1382 and 1385 ) and notes, as well, that there was a drop severe drop in temps sometime after the MWP. Jared Diamond has noted in Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed, that while we don’t know when the last Viking Greenlander died, in the 1400s the North Atlantic became colder and stormier, and any mention in Viking records of ship traffic to Greenland ceased at that time. Diamond also noted a “radiocarbon date of 1435 for a woman’s dress excavated from Herjolfsnes churchyard,” which suggests people may have survived a few years after the last supply ship to reach Greenland. Diamond also notes in his book that the Greelander Norse went through several runs of cold years in the 1300s, and then the temperatures plunged in the 1400s, which cold lasted until the 1800s (he appears to be speaking in broad outlines, as there were warm spikes during this downward temperature trend).

And not only did the Chinese find little ice in 1421, 500 years later, John Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel, noted around 1900 the Northwest Passage was clear of ice, during another short period of warmth.
More evidence for the MWP. France’s Burgundy region, renowned for their wines for centuries, has kept records of grape harvest data going back to the end of the Medieval Optimum, from which researches constructed a temperature graph which shows – you guessed it – slight cooling overall since that era. Civil Defense Perspectives, Mar. 2007, Vol. 23, #3, p. 1, notes that evidence for this climatic optimum has been found in all but 2 out of 103 locations where it was examined for, including Asia, Africa, South America and the western U.S.

The evacuation Order in Oroville has been lifted and replaced with a warning. Because there is a temporary break in the rain, by dumping water out of the reservoir, current level is down enough that confidence has returned. Tomorrow, a new storm is blowing in, but authorities say it should be safe. So, basicly, enter at your own risk, you’ve been warned. This puts the legal, financial, and moral responsibility on the shoulders of the potential victims should anything go wrong.
Personally, all these death traps, whether they are below dams, or near volcanoes should be left for agricultural purposes; cities no. It defies logic.

James Taylor (not the singer) wrote,“Ever since, the polar ice caps have been at a greater average extent than the post-1979 mean.”
Updated data from NASA satellite instruments reveal the Earth’s polar ice caps have not receded at all since the satellite instruments began measuring the ice caps in 1979. Since the end of 2012, moreover, total polar ice extent has largely remained above the post-1979 average. The updated data contradict one of the most frequently asserted global warming claims – that global warming is causing the polar ice caps to recede.
The timing of the 1979 NASA satellite instrument launch could not have been better for global warming alarmists. The late 1970s marked the end of a 30-year cooling trend. As a result, the polar ice caps were quite likely more extensive than they had been since at least the 1920s. Nevertheless, this abnormally extensive 1979 polar ice extent would appear to be the “normal” baseline when comparing post-1979 polar ice extent.
