Legendary investor Jim Rogers has a conversation with CNN’s Andrew Stevens. Mr. Rogers is the CEO of Rogers Holdings and a cofounder of the Quantum Fund. In the 1970’s the Quantum Fund gained over 4200% in ten years. During the same time frame, the S&P 500 rose only 47 points. The fund is accredited with being one of the first truly international investment vehicles.

In this interview, Mr. Rogers talks a little about his background, his views on the dynamic nature of the marketplace and strategies for investing in the future global economy.

On his fascinations with the global economy:

This is all fascinating to me. It’s a three dimensional puzzle, and the pieces are always changing…It’s such an unbelievable challenge. And everyday they come in and change the three dimensional pieces.

    On The Quantum Fund:

We both [Soros and Rogers] had an international approach at a time when most didn’t. Apparently we understood how it worked, this three dimensional puzzle.

If you’ve never listened to Jim Rogers, I strongly urge you to spend 7 minutes today. Mr. Roger’s theories of the ‘puzzle’ are insightful and displays his understanding of the complex nature of how our society interacts and how those interactions are unpredictable and everchanging. Not surprisingly, Mr. Rogers seems to subscribe to the theory of reflexivity recently published by George Soros.

Unfortunately we only have the first 7:15 of the 9:30 interview (the rest of the video seems to have expired on CNN’s web site), but it’s well worth the watch.
