End of an Era: Prospects Look Bleak For Slowing the Coming Food Crisis
    By Tess Pennington

By and large, the majority of the population has deluded themselves into believing a bright future is upon the horizon. For years, economic forecasters and preppers alike have warned of the bottom dropping out of the economy. The proverbial doom prediction of “it’s not if, but when” is not just a phrase to add dramatic effect, it is a call to action. It’s a warning that the American dream is about to drastically change and that it is time to prepare accordingly.

    The End of an Era

We have all seen the anomalous increase in food prices. We can blame it on the massive droughts, extreme weather patterns, and increased cost-of-living that has occurred over several years. While these factors certainly play into the equation, experts believe the root cause is that the world has entered into an era of “peak food” production. Peak production refers to a point at which the growth in production of a crop, animal or other foodstuff begins to slow down. Nine or ten food staples feed the world and they are slowing in their production.

New research finds that the supply of 21 staples, such as eggs, meat, vegetables and soybeans is already growing scarce, while the global population continues to soar.

Peak chicken production was in 2006, while milk and wheat both peaked in 2004 and rice peaked way back in 1988, according to new research from Yale University, Michigan State University and the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research in Germany.

What makes the report particularly alarming is that so many crucial sources of food have peaked in a relatively short period of history, the researchers said.

“People often talk of substitution. If we run out of one substance we just substitute another. But if multiple resources are running out, we’ve got a problem. Mankind needs to accept that renewable raw materials are reaching their yield limits worldwide,” said Jianguo “Jack” Liu, of Michigan State University.

This synchronization of peak years is all the more worrying because it suggests the whole food system is becoming overwhelmed, making it extremely difficult to resurrect the fortunes of any one foodstuff, let alone all of them, the report suggested. Certainly we can just substitute foods before the production begins to plateau and decrease.

See the complete list of peak foods here.

Many believe this simultaneous peaking of the world’s basic foodstuffs is largely due to the massive population boom (world population is expected to reach nine billion by 2050), which is placing an ever-greater strain on the land for housing, agriculture, business and infrastructure. Quite simply, the demand is greater than the supply. The World Bank warned of this years ago and it continues to be a issue. As we continue down this unsustainable path, prices in food and other goods will only continue to climb, leaving many without the wherewithal to invest in healthy food choices for their family. Eating cheaper, less nutritious food will have catastrophic life-long effects on the social, physical, and mental wellbeing of millions of young people. We are already seeing this today. According to the last Census report, one out every five children is on food stamps – that’s more than before the recession. This is how many believe the powers that be will bleed the upper and middle class dry. Mac Slavo notes just how serious things have gotten for the middle class.

This chart, published by the London Telegraph, shows what has happened to Americans as they struggled to tread water and keep afloat after 2008. For the United States, there have been some signs of improvement, but mostly for those already on top. And the general decline in the global rankings of economic freedom and civil liberties does not complement the widening inequality, either.

    wealth-gaps

It illustrates the dramatic shift from the post-World War II years of economic expansion to where we stand now…

Moreover, in a recent article written by Michael Snyder of the Economic Collapse Blog, he cautions that the collapse in oil will also play a leading role in the destruction of our economy.

We are really starting to see the price of oil weigh very heavily on the economy and on the stock market…

The key to how much damage this oil collapse is going to do to our economy is not how low prices ultimately go.  Rather, the key is how long they stay at these low levels.  If the price of oil went back to $80 a barrel next week, the damage would be fairly minimal.  But if the price of oil stays at this current level for the remainder of 2015, the damage will be absolutely catastrophic.

    Build Out Your Lifelines

Folks, this is the time that we have all been preparing for. The near future will be the moment your preparedness endeavors will pay off. Essentially, this undertaking will become your lifeline. Now is the time to double down on your preparedness efforts. It’s time we accept that we have reached an era of total unpredictability.

Clearly there are changes that are necessary in order to slow this impending fate. One simple change we can all make is to consume the food we purchase. Roughly 30 to 40 per cent of the food grown globally for human consumption never gets eaten. Eliminating waste would go a long way to feeding the growing population.

Another way to circumvent this inevitability is to begin limiting our dependence on grocery stores. Growing or raising your own food sources, learning skills to live self-reliantly, and bartering for goods and services will help you become more in tune with what your family needs to survive the food plateaus in the coming years. As well, consider these other suggestions for limiting your exposure to this potential game changer.

    1. Get prepared. Buying food, products, and supplies in bulk will help you prepare for price inflation. If you have the means to do so, buy 30-60 days’ worth so that you have everything you need. Having these on hand will help you if times become more difficult. You can use this free online series to begin creating a personal step-by-step preparedness plan for your family; or, buy the best-selling book, The Prepper’s Blueprint to use as a reference in your preparations.
    2. Preserve wealth.Choose hard assets (dry goods, precious metals, land, livestock, skills, etc.) for long-term investments so they will hold their intrinsic value over time. Holding these types of investments will insulate you from inflation and other economic issues. Further, tying your money up in assets will help you avoid the inflating prices of food sources in the future, thus furthering your cause of self-reliant living.
    3. Invest in food. If we are at our peak for certain foods, now is the time to store them for future use. Further, these foods last a lifetime and would make sound investments for future planning. Ironically, many of these are in the peak foods list. Ideally, you want to store shelf-stable foods that your family normally consumes, as well as find foods that are multi-dynamic and serve many purposes. Dry goods like rice, wheat, beans, salt, honey, and dry milk will provide you with an investment that will grow in value as prices rise, and also offer you peace of mind in case the economy further degrades. How much food should you store? The Ready Nutrition food storage calculator can help you to determine how much inventory you may need and allows you to break your purchases into weekly shopping trips so you don’t have to invest thousands of dollars up front. As well, read Emergency Items: What Will Disappear First for more ideas.
    4. Invest in an emergency pantry. Did you know that nearly 23% of your grocery bill is spent on processed foods and sweets? Rather than spending it on GMO filled junk, you can use that money to invest in a food pantry. One of the best decisions my family made into our future livelihood was to eliminate our debt by simplifying our lifestyle, and by creating a food pantry based on the 25 most popular pantry goods.
    5. Learn how to grow your own food. In a homestead environment, a person wants the land to work for them as much as possible. Invest in fruit trees, seeds, and garden supplies. If you really want these peak foods, find a way to grow them yourself. Further, if you live in a rural area, consider investing in trees and bushes that will lure wild game. The trees and bushes can provide you with added sustenance and help you stock meat in your freezer. Here is a how-to guide for creating a garden quickly.
    6. Raise livestock. Rather than paying hard-earned money at the store for eggs, poultry and dairy—raise them yourself. Chickens are very easy to care for and can provide you with meat and eggs throughout the year. Additionally, you can find substitutions for these peak foods with a little research and ingenuity. For example, rabbits would be a suitable protein replacement. Similar to chickens, they don’t require much care and with some effort can be fed from the homestead’s garden or you can grow fodder. They are also great breeders and will provide you with ample amounts of meat. These are the 10 best meat rabbit breeds. As well, for the modest price of purchasing a fishing license, you can stock your freezer with fresh-caught fish.
    7. It all adds up. Pay off debts ahead of time and work to restructure your outgoing funds to lower your expenses as much as possible. Any money that is saved, set it aside. That way, if your personal income dries up, you won’t have to go into default.
    8. Simplify your lifestyle. Before you begin investing, take steps to get out of debt. Debt only enslaves you further, and simplifying your lifestyle can help break those shackles. Learn about these 6 ways to simplify your lifestyle.

     We Have a Choice

We stand at the brink of a precipice and the choice is yours to make.  Most emergencies don’t unfold slowly; unlike earthquakes or other natural disasters, we have had the benefit and the curse of watching the food crisis gradually come to light. What you choose to do with this information is critical and apathy doesn’t change the fact that immense, potentially life-threatening changes are on the way. Sooner or later our essential crops will stop producing and lifelines need to be in place. Those who are prepared are not only acting in the best interest of their families, but of society as a whole.  The investments we make today will be consumed and used tomorrow—we’ve been given fair warning and now is the time to rise to the occasion.

      1. there are so many things that can go wrong at this point that anyone who doesn’t prepare is crazy. It is clear to me and many who i speak with that something is amiss and it can’t be fixed.

        • Get your mind used to the idea that you’ll probably have to kill in self-defense. Wanting to do this and having no choice but to do this to save yourself or loved ones are two quite different things.

          • FP, I’ve already made that decision many, many moons ago. I believe all of us truly dread what is coming and know it can’t be avoided. I believe we’ll all be forced into that situation at some point and, as individuals, must rise to the challenge and take the appropriate action in order to survive.

            • Braveheart, so many people forget to think about locks when they speak of personal protection. They will go out and spend thousands on a new extra gun. However, they wont spend that much on new doors and new locks.

This is one of the least expensive additions a person can add to make their doors more secure. It’s also so easy anyone can install it themselves with nothing more than a screwdriver. I can personally state that it works very well against force attacks, can’t be picked or drilled.

Cardinal Gates Door Guardian under $20.00

              http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004RL1IMC/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?pf_rd_p=1944687742&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000H5OSOW&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1D4PBHGM386QBYFF051X

              • Justice, I’ll order a couple of these for my home. I have security doors on both front and back doors but an extra layer of protection never hurts.

                • more junk. i would rather have guardian angels protecting my doors, not some cheap junk such as what i just seen on the link to amazon. God bless.

              • @Justice…

                Nice idea, but naive.

When TSHTF, those intent upon taking your stuff will not be deterred by locks, or even devices like the one you linked to.

Locks and similar devices basically keep honest people honest.

When the EBT cards no longer work. And when the store shelves are empty, door locks will no longer be an effective means of protecting you or your family.

                That is reality.

                • Bars on windows? Steel gated entryway?
                  Security doors?

                  • As an American kid growing up in a Latin American country….the buildings had bars on the windows and they were damn near impenetrable….and also a necessity.

                    • Every time I have traveled to a third world country, I find that most homes have bars on all accessible windows. Even a place like Puerto Rico, which is part of the US!

People in the US mainland have no clue what it will be like if the SHTF.

I did install “8 mil security film” on all ground floor windows, Google it folks, it’s very stealthy. Yes I have the steel on hand and the welder to add bars when needed, and I can run my welder off my generator. Basement windows already have bars.

One neighbor noticed those bars and after a resent series of break ins, they appeared on many homes in the neighborhood. The term “arms race” applies in the SHTF. OPEC is appropriate. A house that looks fortified, may become a target! A stealthy approach allows you to defend it, but not draw attention.

                    • I lived in South America growing up, and witnessed this same phenomenon.
Bars on windows are a 2 edged sword, I’m afraid. It keeps entities from getting IN, but it also keeps what’s IN, from getting OUT.
Relevance? If you’re holed up in your home, armed to the teeth, and frustrated marauders can’t get in, what happens when they throw a couple Molotov cocktails at your home to burn you out? You are left with primary entrances to get out, entrances which will be pre-covered, and you AND your loved ones will be gunned down in short order.
I considered barring my windows, but discarded the idea for this very reason. This idea removes options and alternatives, BOTH of which we will ALL need in spades very soon.
I wish a clear-cut, fool-proof business model existed. But the unfortunate truth is, it doesn’t. And as each home and accompanying geography is different, there is no “One size fits all” solution to apply here. It’s case by case I’m afraid…..

                • It may not stop them, but it will slow them down.

                • that is true and those who have never given a thought to any of what is going on or going to happen wont survive, a well developed mental attitude is required for survival as well as knowledge and training which most dont have, the most important thing most can do is plan ahead with their neighbors and try to work together to survive and protect the neighborhood. Sitting in your house and hiding isnt going to save most, those who want your stuff will simply wait till you pull the curtain back to look out or open the door and its over. Drug and crime gangs have been allowed to take over somewhere between 250-300 cities, tens of thousands of criminals have been allowed to enter the country with their diseases, its going to be ugly and bloody, most dont have a mindset for it. Most will simply keep voting for corrupt leaders that already sold them out.

                  • “its going to be ugly and bloody”

News flash -it already is ugly and bloody in the USSA.

No serious crime in our area but were getting ready for peak shit.

We decided to replace a basement level window because its single pane and too easy to break into. We have a security system but this is one entry spot too easy for a break in. Only window on that level so after I put in the new window, steel bars are going across on the inside through the studs then reinforced.

                    • they can’t get in but you can’t get out either. something to consider. Have a plan B.

                • I have given you a green thumb as well, your position is well taken — BUT — the extra 30 — 60 seconds will be so greatly appreciated as I go from sound sleep to startled alertness to grabbing my 9 mm and dealing with …

My door lock stuff is to slow things down — I know I can’t make a door strong enough to keep the bad out.

I hope the good people of the world wake up sooner rather than later.

                • Exactly right. The idea that way out here in rural Idaho someone who has gone to all the trouble of coming to my farm is going to turn around because it’s locked is crazy.

We do lock our doors at night though, but only because we have small children and my wife worries they might sleepwalk and end up in the river or something crazy.

              • That’s designed to keep children from opening the door and going outside…very young children who can’t drag over a chair to defeat it. Not a good idea o depend on this thing to keep determined people out.

              • I can appreciate this! Its not expensive and if it slows them down, I just have more time to decide their demise! 😉 (Do I need to waste a bullet?)

              • Justice:

I spent many years as a carpenter/remodeler. I can get in the average house at least 1/2 ways with out getting too destructive. If I get destructive, there are virtually an unlimited number of ways into the average house. I can remove the sashes of the average window, for example, in under a minute. Or I can take a battery operated Sawsall and cut a whole new opening in the average crappy wood/vinyl siding/ 1/2″ sheathing, 1/2″ drywall house wall in a couple minutes.

                Another example:

Lady down the street shows up at our door one morning in her bathrobe/slippers, asking to use our phone to call a locksmith…she locked herself out while going to get the morning paper. I told her I’d go let her in. Grabbed a few small tools, and we walked back to her house.

I walked up to the wood garage door, looked at the lock, which was locked….removed the two screws holding the lock in the hole, rotated it, pulling the inside levers and rolled the door up. Time: <2 minutes.

NEXT time she did it, we go back, and I start toward the garage door again….she says "Oh, no, that won't work…Chuck (husband) put two screwdrivers in the tracks inside you have to take out to roll the door up".

OK. I walk around the house, and examine her sliding glass door. "No, you can't open that unless you take the broom stick out from the inside".

Well…yes and no. As I looked at the door, I noticed the original installer didn't put the retainer clip on the fixed panel. So I simply flattened my palms against the glass of the fixed panel, bumped it to the side (they slide too…just not as easy), and told her "Don't trip over that fool broomstick on the way in….and QUIT locking your doors…you're only fooling yourself and kids"

                She never showed up again.

                • Being a contractor the next house I build for myself will be poured concrete.

                  • Did that..ICF …ONLY WAY TO GO!! Foam retains strength…even if shot up with a 50 it remains in place…only thing I’d change is thicker walls…6.25″ now

                • A 762×54 steel jacket will penetrate any lock. A 8 pound sledge will break up cement blocks with one lick. Torches & explosives will defeat eve bank valuts. Even the Crusaders castles where breached.

                • Had a neighbor show up at the house, locked out, locksmith standing there with a battery powered drill, saying Mam just give me the word, yes he was dying to sell a replacement $30 door lock for $200

I went to my recycle bin pulled out a soda bottle, cut a small sheet of plastic carded the door with the plastic, and sent the lock smith packing.

                  Lock smith my ass!

              • I don’t know how a secure door keeps a robber from breaking a window to get in the home unless you live in a high rise apartment.

              • It will slow them down as long as you have a steel door without a window. You will need to use long screws 2 1/2″ minimum to reach the wall framing.

              • I went to the link provided, and it says these are to prevent unwanted EXITS from the home! oops!!!

            • Please , lets pray that gunplay wont be needed.
But always be prepared , and hope for the best.

              • Why would ANYONE give this a thumbs down to HH’s statement?? Non-violence is the desired way forward. Let’s hope, pray and work for a restoration of the republic by completelypeaceful means, similar to ML King’s work. The only reason I could think of someone doing a thumbs down is some agent provocateur or agent trying to entrap people into making violent statements. Both the violent types, as well as those doing the entrapment, are wrong. Again, let’s have a full, open discussion, and let the best IDEAS win (that’s OK, leftists… you can exit now!)

                • Test and Hammerhead, excellent points, but the day IS coming when we’ll all be forced into situations none of us want. If/when I’m forced into such a situation, thee will be no surrender on my part. I will do what I consider necessary, period.

                • Test.

                  MLK’s work?

Oh I get it. It is Black History Month.
MLK is dead but the Dude in the White House is taking the country down.

                  • I do NOT support Obungler at all, period

                • MLK was a communist, research his handlers.
One problem I will state the fact that there are WAY to MANY lilly livered white people who figure they owe them something!

                  • I support King s non violence approach. I despise Communism. King was flawed in many ways, but I cannot say or not if he had communist sympathies

                    • There is so much evidence of MLK’s connection to communism that I find it hard to believe that there are posters here that say “they cannot say if he had communist sympathies”.

When you have post after post that seem to portray yourself as someone with a rather high opinion of yourself and your intelligence, and you haven’t even figured out that MLK was a communist, what else is in your posts that should be questioned.

Failure to identify AIPAC as the real PTB running the zoo in DC tells me you haven’t got that one figured out either.

                    • You tell ’em granny. Old MLK was a damn commie sent here by Joe Stalin to steal our A-bomb secrets dammit! You know, it’s just a damned shame that the entire human race can’t be as all knowing as yourself, we truly would reach Nirvana.

                    • “…you have post after post that seem to portray yourself as someone with a rather high opinion of yourself and your intelligence…”

I have done nothing of the sort, ever. I am sorry that you have some kind of problem that causes you to project your problems and insecurities.

I am aware of rumours about MLK being communist. There are others that say he was a Republican conservative.

If you had cared to actually read what I wrote, rather than making off the cuff judgments, I said one thing: I support the non-violence approach that MLK advocated. I said nothing more. Everything else is your eisegesis and says more about you than me.

I repeat, in case you will not read what I wrote: the battle is one of education and information dissemination, not violence. MLK, among others, exemplified the process. As noted, anything else you read into this is your OWN construct, telling us more about you than me.

                  • You can’t deprive people the right to vote. You can’t tell people to get to the back of the bus. The Bill of Rights applies to everyone or it applies no no one. Society is now complaining about the heavy hand of Law Enforcement because now, anyone not wealthy is often mistreated at their hands. Blacks lived with that for decades.

Dr King would be appalled by the behavior of the black community today.

There is no doubt that the greatest problems in the black community is the culture of the back community.

“MLK was a communist, research his handlers.”

Communists exploit injustice. The US Constitution and Bill of Rights, if followed, give them no opportunity. Not adhering to the Bill of Rights in both letter and intent is their ammunition.

You can’t justify depriving anyone of rights. Period. If you do, eventually your next.

                • TEST. None-violence is for candy-asses. Grow some balls dude. Lace up yer Doctor Martens boots and kick some ‘eds in… Now that’s a GREAT idea.

                  • I assume you have not experienced violence or else are some shill for the PTB trying to entrap people. Only other possibility is that you are incredibly puerile

                    • ‘ello TEST. I’m a Brit… I’ve done plenty of time in Her Majesties Prisons for violence… That’s where I learnt my basic Christianity…Once on the outside of those Victorian walls I swore to offer my allegiance to the down trodden working class white British people. So don’t try ‘n’ dictate to me the rights and wrongs of violence since I’ve long since learnt that the STRONG MAN makes the leader. Excuse my forthright language American friend. But that to me is the rule of the norm. God bless ya TEST.

                    • ‘ello again TEST. I’m intrigued as to the meaning of the PTB? I would appreciate a clear definition…This is just for clarification if you know what I mean? Thanks a lot sport. ta-ta for now TEST… AGENT SKINHEAD OUT.

                    • Thumbs down don’t mean nothing to me squire… I’ll always defend the weak white man… WHITE POWER 4 EVER.

                    • With a heavy heart it looks like I will have to admit that my American friends have succumb to the PC crap of the ELITE… Take care my WESTERN BROTHER. AGENT SKINHEAD OUT.

                    • Well, I’m glad that’s over with.

              • Is this your version of “hope” and change?

              • Every year, I shoot raccoons and I don’t like it. I have to though, or they will destroy my home and kill my pets. Each year I “hope” I won’t catch any, but I always do. About ten each year. I shoot them in the head with a 22lr and it’s disgusting, but it has to be done.

Lose the “hope and change” propaganda.

Maybe I’ve had too many beers though!!!

                • I catch them drive into town and release them in the city park.

                  • Thanks ever SO much Mr Senior Shooter. xXx

                  • That’s funny senior, cause I catch them in town and carry them out to the county park, I hope we aren’t carrying the same coons.

                    • Dropped a rabbit in a park across the river that had been caught eating the wife’s flowers.

Opened the trap, dumped out the rabbit that walked, not run, about ten feet. It stopped, looked around, looked at me, looked around and then gave me the dirtiest look, It was hysterical.

Another rabbit died of fright in the trap, dropped it in the middle of the road a half mile from the house. Went to the next turn around spot, and coming back saw it flying away, in the talons of a red tailed hawk. Awesome!

                • I see. And your solution is violence? Screaming at people? Becoming evil like the left?

The reality is that the left has ZERO intellectually cogent ideas, only propaganda. If we can COMMUNICATE adequately, the lies WILL fall.

People are not raccoons. And as for “propaganda,” as far as I know, you are some shill for the PTB that are trying to goad simple people into making entrapping statements.

Let’s stick with rational discourse, OK? I put my ieas out for consideration and critique, not as “propaganda.” Take them as such.

              • Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

                • A SHOUT-OUT TO T-PodXS—

                  • Hunter:

Everyone should go back to see what a coward Tripod is. He certainly didn’t count on you seeing his posts, did he?

            • “Kill or be killed”.

              • Perhaps my post was too harsh, let me rephrase:
                “RUN LIKE HELL” !!!!!!!!!!!

          • Its a simple choice, Kill or be killed.
Btw/ Vac Packed 4 more lbs of gounded coffee beans yesterday. Thats liquid gold. Just learned the TSA may be given the power to arrest Americans at the airports for back tax defaults or other crimes such as debt defaults. Welcome to Amerikkka. Land of the debt slave camps. Late payments on Student Loans???, forget about flying anywhere.

          • Kill Kill Kill Kill….as always the Amerikan way of life

          • FP. Your namealways makes me laugh… Forking brilliant. Ha Haaah.

          • FuckingPissed… I won’t have any qualms killin’ a fucking muslim invader of my Christian land. Fuck to these muslim pigs.

        • The American Dream has already drastically changed, just short of completely being destroyed for anyone not already living off their nice pension plans from the 80’s.

For anyone not retired still working for that dream of retirement, that dream has long been crushed by the rise of 401ks giving greedy corporations reason to eliminate those once-golden retirement pensions.

And now Obola want’s to rob people of their 401ks too.

          The American Dream is gone.

          • Depends on the dream… my own dream is to get stocked-up and set for self-sufficiency, along with the means to defend it. Included is a strong relationship with my neighbors for mutual support.

The good news is, even if collapse never happens in my lifetime? I’m still set up with a lifestyle that has a minimal cost money-wise, provides plenty of good exercise, and allows me to life a nice quiet life away from the crowds.

            • OQ, welcome back. How’ve you been? I have the same dream and have achieved it for the most part. I have an arrangement with a relative in north GA to move into her BOL when the time comes. Most of my supplies are already stored there and I’m making another supply run over there in March.

              • Been doing pretty well.

I’ve already moved into rural Oregon, and my work arrangement allows me to stay out there nearly all of the time. 🙂

The only priorities now are to pay down the mortgage (if things collapse beforehand, well, that’s one less thing to worry about), and to continue towards self-sufficiency.

BTW – I went to Atlanta on business with a former employer back in 2013… nice town (okay, I was in Alpharetta/Roswell, which explains why it’s all so pretty.)

Having seen that traffic though (which is why I brought that up), I hope you can bug out before the masses get the same idea; that traffic is nasty…

                • OQ, I have family in the mountains due NE of Atlanta. Where I live is much less populated than Atlanta but bad enough and I do get your drift. Been through Atlanta a few times myself. Definitely not a picnic. Take care.

                  • I have relatives in the mountains of N East GA as well and are both preppers. Our wonder is how to draw water from 500 ft w/o electricity. Static level may be much higher though, any thoughts?

                    • Sure Vet…

Grundfos SQ series pumps. Can run them on AC or DC. Max lift is 655′ Couple of 250w solar panels will run one on DC.

If you keep it dead simple (panels/pump only) by pumping into a storage tank with some elevation, let it pump only when the sun shines, you can avoid batteries/etc, and still have water on demand via gravity pressure.

                • OQ, welcome to Oregon.

                  • Been a resident for 8 years. 😉

Wish I could find something in the SE corner though that paid well enough… a year-round plentiful source of water for self and garden would become a big priority, but damn – no one would ever bother you out there.

                    • Like Klamath Falls?

          • Yes, the fascist left is utterly salivating and getting their hands on the almost 20 trillion of 401ks and similar.

            • TEST

“Fascist Left”; I like the joining of these two words, normally not used in conjunction, that when put together are complementary descriptive and quite accurately convey something that as I’m aware, no single word can describe.

        • The majority of killings occur with the victim facing down on the ground. That’s why pigs tell you to get into that position. To make it easier to kill you if they have to. If your kids are being told to hide behind desks in an active shooter situation that’s fucking stupid. They have a much better chance of living if they look the terrorist in the eyes and humanize themselves by talking about their family and shit.

Are your kids having bus wreck drills, fire drills, tornado drills, flood drills, active shooter drills???

Are those drills being led by fucking idiots who have no idea about survival? Should you be drilling your kids to shit like those scenarios? Do you have a plan to retrieve your kids from school?

          • Do your older kids know to try and escape those drills if they can, and make it home or call their parents for help? How many times was it NOT A DRILL, in recent memory?

            • Any place where they are running drills is most likely their next false flag scam. Recently attended an alphabet gang active shooter seminar. All they basicall taught was to coward like cowards as they have it all under control. I asked since Florida has 2.2 Million concealed carry permit holders that I would be a person going after the shooter and wanted to know how to identify myself so when the LEO’s got there, they would not shoot me the good guy? Basically put your weapon on the ground and show your hands. I did not like their answer. So basically kill the shooter before the cops arrive. Then conceal your weapon, keep your mouth shut and call an Atty.

          • Yep,, my plan is to never send them to a prison public fool system in the first dam place

          • Our kids are homeschooled because Ceasar can’t be trusted.

          • Yes we have a plan. Since we homeschool, own several acres of woods and pasture, own part of two islands in the river (other half and oppossite bank is BLM land for miles), our kids might be pretty far away.

Our plan involves this big bell on the back porch on a pole with a chain. When we ring it the kids know to come home immediately (usually means dinnertime). We feel pretty comfortable that they can make it home since they are sometimes armed with hunting rifles or .22s, or at least fishing poles and knives. Since we have, ahem, more than 5 children they also always use the buddy system and often have several of the neighbors kids with them too.

We practice this plan regularly and assign extra chores for any who don’t follow the plan.

      2. Good article! I have a good kind of problem. My basement storage room is stocked full of cans and dry goods. This coming weekend on days off I will be building some more shelving units. My canned , bottles , and dry goods will be used until I gather my garden harvest. For those that live in towns and cities , having poultry and livestock sometimes isn’t feasible. That’s where you need to be able to barter , trade services , or buy your meat.

I like the part of get out of debt. I’m a pumper in the oil field out in N.E. Utah and times are getting scary. Lots of friends and family have been canned already. I was lucky enough to pay off my home and two jeeps. I’m doing everything I can to keep my employment now.

Good luck to everyone when this kicks off because it is going to be SPECTACULAR (and not in a good way)

        Molon Labe

        • Food “shortages” and thus “prices” in America, could be mitigated in a heartbeat if people would grow their own food in the back yard, makeshift greenhouse, or grow room with artificial lighting.

Fill that extra bathtub up with dirt and grow potatoes.
If you leave your food supply up to others, like Americans do their government at every level, you deserve to starve, and you will.

America is all about individual responsibility and self reliance. These traits require personal initiative, self-education, and application. Got seed? Why not?

        • CC, I have a similar good problem. My storage space at home is getting close to where you’re at on supplies and I’m still prepping. I’m debt-free myself due to never being qualified for any type of loan or credit card anyway and don’t want either item, either. My prepping is my top priority and I refuse to let anything else interfere with that. I also dread what’s coming ad it definitely won’t be nice. Good luck.

          • Thank you sir , best of luck to you and yours as well

        • Captain Crunch: Hope you are not walking rod lines. (LOL)

Oil field trash here in the Mid-West. So many people don’t know or realize yucky, old smelly, crude oil is in almost everything. Be safe my friend and keep the polish rod going up and down.

          • Hehe glad some other trash besides me is out there!

Speaking of polish rods , had one snap in half right above the rod rotator where the rods clamps are attached. Damn rod string and polish rod dropped straight down. What a mess!! Got it cleaned up good though. Gonna fish out the string and get it pumping up and down tomorrow morning !

            • CC: Made in China right. Hehehehe

              • South Korea ,
But yeah same dif at this point right?

      3. well it sure appears that all this time spent paying off the debt and keeping a good supply of essentials on hand is about to payoff, I am not looking forward to all the misery it will cause the millions who are NOT prepared and or the tough choices people will have to make in regards to “helping thy neighbor” but maybe at least we will have reached a major point and things will only get better after the initial death and destruction occur!

        • Apache54, I made my decision in regards to helping anyone many years ago. It was a decision I made only after some agonizing and soul-searching, but I finally felt I made the right choice to take care of me and my own only. I’m only responsible for myself and my own. I’m NOT responsible for anyone who refuses to listen and prepare for their own selves and families. We have all seen the image of people in the aftermath of natural disasters crying, “Where’s the government? When are they coming to help us?”. And still, people refuse to take our advice to heart and do something for themselves. When it finally hits, the nonpreppers are in for the biggest shock of their lives. The aftermath will be horrific.

          • That shouldn’t prove too difficult, you only have yourself to be concerned about so why the big deal about everybody else?

          • renegade,
YUP, i made my mind up a long time ago as well, but that still doesn’t mean that it will be easy, you always remember, if you know what i mean.

            • Apache54, I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I have dreams about it and I wake up every time in a cold sweat. However, mentally I’m prepared for it, because I know that someday it will happen. It’s either me or whatever scum is confronting me and I decided it won’t be me.

          • Just ordered a shortwave radio antenna. Check out the world wide bands and frequencies. Print those out on hard doc format and into 3 ring binders. Many nations only broadcast at certain times when the airwaves are more favorable for broadcasting. You would be amazed at the real news of what’s really happening out there. Get your radios and power source in place now if you want a link to the outside world.

      4. Peak oil was reached in the ’70s and we have a glut right now. I saw the article on Drudge the other day about this. I thought at that time “follow the money”. Commodities traders would benefit from a panic. And more GMO peddlers could get approvals quicker if the MSM picked up on this.
On the other hand why not have a very large reserve of these foods. Thanks Tess.

        • The term “Peak Oil” means the maximum possible production after which the amount produced begins falling.

We haven’t reached that yet as oil production is still increasing and new deposit fields are being discovered.

Removal of a few current political restrictions and unnecessary regulations about where and how would make us even more productive than we are.

Deep well drilling and hydraulic fracturing allow about a third of previously inaccessible deep (shale) deposits to be recovered and the new carbon dioxide injection technologies allow another third of it to be extracted without even drilling new wells (keep your eye on this developing technology).

Likewise with food production, we really don’t have any natural reasons for shortages to develop. Weather patterns are reducing food production in some areas but the same weather is increasing it in others. However political restrictions of production, as demonstrated with California chickens, are going to be causing a supply reduction that will be accompanied by significantly higher prices.

There are, worldwide, huge areas that could be used for productive crops that currently are not being put to any use at all or the use is highly restricted for political reasons.

If we face shortages it’s because we can’t get along with each other, not because it can’t be readily produced.

          • Jonathon, if government interference could be eliminated from food production, we would all be surprised to see what would happen. Whenever government tampers with something, it just ruins it.

            • Political conflict and restriction isn’t just in government, it can be any of the political divisions we see in parts of Africa that are not governments but still destroy the peoples prosperity and productivity. It also can be a government if one side gets the upper hand over all others (as in the former Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, which used to be able to feed itself and most of the rest of Africa on its own before the communists got it and destroyed its agricultural system).

Another current example might be Venezuela compared to how it used to be (prosperous and productive), and how its neighbors still are, and how it is now under socialism.

It could happen here if the American people continue socializing and multi-culturing our country.

      5. If nothing else stock up on anything and everything you’ll need now and beat inflation later. Food is number one. Get ammo now while it is reasonable because another school shooting/event will make it sky rocket. Pay off the house or car and cut stuff that you can get by without. Use them coupons. Stash silver and items to barter with(toilet paper). Think long term.

        • Am right there with you.

          The house is paid off.
So are the car and the truck.
          Precious metals – check.
Lots of long-term food – check.
          Medical supplies – check.
          Lots of TP – check.
Portable CB, hand-crank AM/FM, 2-meter handheld ham, emergency scanner – check.
Radio kept in a grounded metal container – check.
Extra water and filtering – check.
Gas tanks topped off always – check.

          Etc.

      6. I’ve been reading articles like this since the economy collapsed in 2008. There has been a constant series of them written by many all essentially stating the same thing. None of them can say “when”. Personally, I’ve prepared about as much as I can within reason, but in order to survive in today’s world and not get so caught up in the negativity, I have had to compartmentalize this negativity and do my best to circle the wagons around my career in sales and try to keep a positive attitude that is absolutely so critical in order to find success. You simply cannot keep being fed negativity and remain successful in business. This is a constant struggle that I can dealing with.

        • We do not battle with flesh and blood, but principalities and powers. Spiritual preparation is the FIRST PREP and it must be nourished daily with the renewing of our mind.

Muslims pray by, edict, five times a day to tap into their spiritual force, and consider it “bathing” recognizing that negativity and impurity cannot long exist or take root within the man or woman who prays five times a day.

Christians should pray without ceasing if they want to remain steadfast, and free of fear; understanding that our prayers and our alms rise up to God as a “memorial” to Him of us.

WE have two weapons: prayer and the US Constitution. Use them; rendering to God what is God’s and to Caesar, that which is Caesar’s.

        • Stan,
the difference now is that there is more info. to back these claims up and with that info. lots of people can see that something IS coming, no-one knows the time there are too many fingers in the pie, so those dates will change, but one day and soon it is coming. now also during times like these there is money to be made, it is like playing the craps table, either you for the roller or you bet for the table.

      7. All good suggestions.

However, I would not think that after an event that it would be over. I am still convinced that not only economic downfall but major earth changes that are coming, not to say the possibility or war.

        Much on our plate.

      8. False flag on the horizon.

        • Confederate, I agree. I can fell something big coming.

      9. We hear this every other day. We know its coming. What we want is the date.
Time to prep? I was under the impression that was what we have been doing all along. I’ve been doing it for 30 years.
We are strong and resourceful people on this site, and we will make it through with the help of the Good Lord and good friends and family!
        Sgt.

        • Alex Jones says teotwawki within 30 days! Gary North says get ready to do battle with Satan!

          • Jones and North are not good sources of information.

          • Alex Jones says a lot of things, most of which should be ignored.

If you’re a genuine Christian you are doing battle with Satan, that old snake, every day.

          • “Oh, Yeaaaaaaaaah”.

            Ferris Bueller

          • Im cool with that!

        • Good evening, Sarge. I’ve been prepping for various scenarios since the 70s and don’t regret it for a minute. Never trust anyone who sets any dates for any type of event. They always miss their mark.

      10. Would you like fries with that? Too bad, there is a potato shortage.

        • As the Poles used to say under the Communists, “When socialism comes to the Sahara, there will even be a shortage of sand.”

I would only add, “But not for the leftist cronies, Learjet liberals and Hollywierd hypocrite socialists”

      11. Its called American “Dream” for a reason – it never was real, it was all an illusion. Dreams hardly ever come true. It’s a let-down. People’s hard work and diligence got them a good lifestyle, not dreams. Now the reality is setting in.

        • Once upon a time, it was ‘the land of opportunity.’ They stopped using that one a long time ago. No need to guess why, I suppose – no more opportunity, just the dream of it.

Next I imagine it will become ‘the American nightmare.’

          • AC, it’s already been a nightmare since Bush Jr.

        • AnneMarie, your post is one of a very few showing your intellect. I remember Jude Napolitano had his own show and I really like the man (not the Faux News) and he quoted a phrase from Ron Paul stating: would it be possible that everything we hear is a lie, maybe we have been lied you for many decades. His show was stopped next day.

The dream was fake and now is turning into a nightmare.

        • @ Annemarie…..

As The late great George Carlin said ” It’s called the American Dream because you have to be Asleep to believe it !!! “…..I miss him …

          • Where did my ” 3 ” go in the other post !!!!

            • I miss your 3… “Free the three… Free the three… Free the thee”

      12. Soylent Green. It’s what’s for dinner.

        • Tonight!

        • I’ve been stocking up on the “sweet baby rays” because I’m gonna eat the neighbors. but seriously, I’d like to say that since last april I’ve been writing to heirloom seed companies asking for seed donations for a project that I’ve been doing to help the people in appalachia, and the response has been AMAZING!! I’ve gotten over a dozen boxes of seeds mailed to me, all heirloom seeds with 100 or more seed packs per box, all for free and paid no shipping either, please take some time and write to these places, it’s a great way to add seeds to your supplies and to help others.

      13. Very good article, Tess and Mac.

Many will see just another hardcore preppers article with repetitive information; but, it is more than that at this critical point in time.

Sound advice from someone that has seen the writing on the wall, should be heeded wisely.

It all comes down to supply and demand, and with extenuating circumstances at play, it may be taken too lightly.

I have seen the results of high demand for chicken, on the rise. With much of the production going to fill demand for “organically” grown chicken by those that have the expendable income for higher priced poultry products, it has placed a strain on the more affordable chicken products availability on the eastern seaboard.
At our local poultry processing plant, the demand is high, but the availability is now lower.

The plant can usually ship in processed birds to fulfill demands and production requirements, but that is not the case right now.

My brother has worked for the major company for thirty years and says he has never seen the demand so high and the availability so low. Normally, the extra needed orders can be filled by working six days per week. They can’t get the product to work extra days and barely can get enough to keep regular hours.

The system is getting tighter and tighter as demand for food is exploding here in America.. With increased demand on affordable meat, largely due to population explosions (largely because of immigrants), the system could implode with one major catastrophic event, such as a bird flu.

Higher prices are on the horizon. When the price of crude oil goes back up, and it will, we will see inflation and increased costs accredited to transportation costs and operating expenses. Whether the increase is credibly justified because of energy costs, or not, doesn’t matter.

Why? Because, the demand is there. Beef and pork production is at an all time high, but those resources are just as vulnerable.

Cheap poultry prices have kept those costs somewhat regulated. If and when, poultry becomes scarce, the other meats costs will skyrocket.

Hedge your bets against skyrocketing meat prices, by gardening and canning, is my philosophy. Finding bulk meats when they are reduced or practically priced, and canning them, is a good idea.

You can never go wrong with beans and rice. Even if the rice is tainted with arsenic, it may be a lifesaver.

        • PWTW, I’ve seen reports at stevequayle.com of food shortages in various parts of the country since October. I did some more prep shopping earlier today and the stores in my area are still being kept well-stocked for now. My prepping has been stepped up because I feel something big is on the horizon.

          • Alex Jones says Fedgov knows of imminent crop failure this summer! No food in grocery stores by September!

          • renegade,
after doing some research on the areas of food shortages it appears that some of the suppliers in those areas do government supplies and they had to sign guarantees to the feds. i also think the profit is better for them, BUT the next question is WHY all of a sudden is the feds. wanting the food now? something is getting ready to happen soon!

            • Apache54, that’s interesting. Remember all the reports about DHS/FEMA buying up all of the freeze-dried food stocks they could get their hands on? I also feel something big is on the horizon.

            • They did the exact same thing to create the ammo shortage. The Fed govt tied as much up in promissory contracts as they could get, leaving the people with unfulfilled demand.

          • Same here on food stocks. On another note, 22lr have been showing up at a few places and I sure buy what I can here in Western Wisconsin.

        • passinwiththewind, just when I was getting ready to stock up on chicken. Figures!

        • This is one reason I buy half a cow every other year from the local farmer market to store in my extra freezer. Beef prices are always rising so I go in with others, and we buy bulk. Got a solar generator too, just encase a power outage were to occur so I can still keep the freezer going.

Also, I always tell people to buy cheap bulk foods: oatmeal, grits, split-peas, beans, rice, popcorn kernel, etc. Forget that highly overpriced 1-year-suppliers. I’ve gotten some long ago, but too damn expensive now-days. Keep preppin’ & keep stackin’

          God bless.

          • killcen, that is exactly what I am doing. Besides canned food, LTS food, etc. etc. etc.

          • I can’t find hominy grits here in central Oregon anymore.

            • Sixpack, if you can’t find good grits, the SHTF has already happen.LOL
              Retired Navy

            • That’s cos I’m buying them all. Yum, yum, yum. “BELCH”

      14. Part of the leftist gambit, mes amis, is the BIG GREEN MONEY global warming scam. Why is this? Simple: *If you control energy, you control everything it touches, which is, well, ***everything***. A socialists dream.

E.g., the ever-leftist Yahoo had yet another article a couple days ago about Greenland melting. Why do you see 3 4- articles every time you look at websites like Yahoo? Another reason in addition to the above:

a.) They think you are too stupid to remember ClimateGate, with the “hide the decline” scam, the fake hockey stick and worse, the refusal to release emails and data, etc etc. etc.
b.) There is billion and perhaps trillions invested in the scam – not just by BIG GREEN MONEY, but also by the Goldman Sachs types of the world

Back to the Greenland article. The one I saw today was about Greenland melting http://www.rtcc.org/2015/02/05/greenlands-hidden-meltwater-lakes-raise-sea-level-concerns/

We are also warned about Greenland ice loss in other article such as the one found at http://www.grist.org/article/2010-05-13-weighing-greenland/, Here, scientists use GRACE (Gravity Recovery andClimate Experiment) satellites, which experiment is composed of two satellites flying in formation, in which they measure the distance between the two satellites to the nearest micron (a hundredth of the width of a hair), which in turn allows us to calculate the weight of things on the earth very accurately.

One of the things that the GRACE satellites have allowed us to calculate is the ice loss from the Greenland Ice Cap. The article somberly informs us that Scott Luthcke “weighs Greenland — every 10 days. And the island has been losing weight, an average of 183 gigatons (or 200 cubic kilometers) — in ice — annually during the past six years. That’s one third the volume of water in Lake Erie every year. Greenland’s shrinking ice sheet offers some of the most powerful evidence of global warming.” Pretty frightening stuff, even allowing for the fact that this only covers the past six years. I’m not sure what a gigaton is, but it must be big!

Unfortunately, Willis Eshenbach, in his article On Being the Wrong Size, http://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/05/23/on-being-the-wrong-size/#more-19819, had the temerity to figure out what this really big thing called a “gigaton” is, and found out that Greenland is currently losing 0.007% of its total mass every year, possibly as low as 0.0005% … seven thousandths of one
percent to five thousandths of one percent lost annually. Eshenbach estimates we will lose Greenland ice between 14010 and the year 21010 … on May 23rd – but that is so far out – and assuming we don’t start global cooling again – by that time Al Gore’s descendants will be on a frantic mission to stop the sun from burning out.

Also re.Greenland ice, Danish researchers, led by Kurt Kjaer, Univ. of Copenhagen, have studied archival photos to compare current claims of rapid melting, and found the Greenland glacier is melting and reforming at a normal rate and therefore “it’s wrong to use the current melting rate to make predictions about sea level rise in the coming century, as some studies have done.”

Other mainstream media reports frantically tell us the Greenland Ice Sheet is melting so fast it is pouring 240 billion tonnes of fresh water into the ocean each year.[Unfortunately, a study led by Kurt Kjaer, Univ. of Copenhagen, found that the Greenland glacial system is melting and then re-forming at a normal rate, and concluded ““it’s wrong to use the current melting rate to make predictions about sea level rise in the coming century, as some studies have done.” See http://www.voanews.com/articleprintview/1454091.html , http://www.nature.com/ngeo/journal/v5/n6/fig_tab/ngeo1481_F2.html
        or http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-19095069

Then there is that idiotic “2014 warmest ever” – which used thermometer data over the zillion times more accurate satellite data. Satellite data showed no such thing, and the delta with the notoriously corrupted thermometer data was statistically insignificant. So much so that uber warming shill Seth “Boringstein” even retracted the claim.

        • Aint it crazy TEST ?
I see them articles everyday on yahoo and just shake my head.
Front page on Drudge tonight has several “climate” de- bunking articles.

          • HH – they are FRANTIC with the AGW scam again. 2 years left with Obungler to get the framework in place. I always go to Yahoo to see what the propagandists want me to believe (as well as keep abreast of the latest Kim Kardoooshian, Lady Kaka and Mahdoona news), and literally every time I look I seem to see 3 -4 articles.

All I suggest is that people – if they think what I post is useful – is copy and paste into their own communication. For example, Dr. Tim Ball and the link I have to http://drtimball.com/2012/sensationalist-and-distorted-climate-stories-increase-as-climate-science-failures-exposed/ is something literally every person in the world should see. Imagine if people would forward this on to 10 friends? What I try to so is always provide links so people can verify what I have posted – otherwise it is just more useless internet opinion. People may disagree with my sources, but THAT is a different discussion.

This battle is one of information dissemination and education, despite the bellicose tone of some here.

I personally have pictures taken at Skaftafell Natl Park in Iceland, at the base of the Vatnajokull glacier system (3rd largest in the world), where the park states that they KNOW for fact from extant deeds that ~40 Viking era farms that were FUNCTIONING farms around 1000 AD are today buried under the glacier, and that the glacier is today disgorging bits of trees and greenery from centuries ago. That is, it was as warm as, or warmer, 1000 years. ago. Must have been those darned Viking SUVs, right?

Now the Cult of Al Gore wants to spend $90 trillion (seriously) to end automobile usage. ($90 trillion… you know, the cost of just ONE Michelle Marie Antoinette Obama vacation…. which emits more CO2 in one vacation than my entire state does in a year)

As I say, you may not be interested in socialism, faux global warming, etc. etc., but socialists, faux global warmer, etc. are interested in YOU!

          • One of the articles mentioned that the new data doesn’t match the old paper records. I have gone to a NASA site that had PDFs of those old climate summary records, and some of them are “Not Found” already.

I found some on Archive and am downloading them. Here is the address for the search in case anyone else wants to download them too:

            ht tps://archive.org/search.php?query=Climatological%20Data%20National%20Summary%20AND%20mediatype%3Atexts

These books start with Volume 1, 1950. The info on NASA started in the 1800s, but the type of information varies from volume to volume, and as I said above, some of it is disappearing.

I have been downloading my local monthly summaries for a good number of years. If you want those, go to the government weather site and look for “Preliminary Monthly Climate Data (CF6).” These reports contain the raw data day by day for a location before it gets massaged by the computers. I have all of these monthly reports for my location back to the late 1980s. I have similar data that I downloaded many years ago that goes back to 1935 for my location.

If nothing else, it’s good information to have for garden planning.

            • Thanks, Archivist.

There is something rotten in Denmark relative to faux global warming.

Maybe they left some limburger cheese on an over-heated radiator

              • Another good resourse on climate.
Its an aggregate site much like Drudge.

                ht tp://www.climatedepot.com/

                • I’ve had that one bookmarked for a while. It’s good.

        • We Can Reverse The Psychological Warfare Against The Public. We can make a difference with just a few minutes of our time. I’ve seen it happen. Take the Western meddling in Ukraine. Last year, EVERY ARTICLE was just a bunch of obvious lies and propaganda. It was painfully clear that most of what was coming out of the MSM was lies.

The people retaliated. The voices of those opposed to war, and those who knew about the bloody coup, paid for by the U.S., SPOKE OUT. The people spoke out and overwhelmed the liars and propagandists. They presented facts that made the article writer a liar. They presented those facts in the comments section. They pointed out the warmongers for who they were. They pointed out the misconceptions and lies in real time.

The entire tenor of propaganda has since changed. Now, instead of bombarding people with outright lies, they bury the truth behind semantics and half-truths. They have to be more sneaky about it, or they get crucified in the comments sections.

I encourage everyone who can, to spend 1 hour of your time opposing the MSM propaganda. Expose the lies and put those yellow journalists in their places.

I keep a simple text file of FACTS on different subjects. I copy and paste from those lists a lot. It only takes a few minutes to post a lot of facts left out of MSM articles. It only takes a second to post a saved link to expose a lie.

Make your own lists. It only takes up a few bytes of space. It saves time and you’ll be doing your part to SILENCE THE LIARS AND FRAUDS.

          • @sixpack
I should have copied down what I read in the book “The Creature from Jekyll Island” the author told of a study completed in 1966 by the .gov. The study determined that people need an enemy but that constant war would make the people rebel. What we needed was boogeyman that everyone could see. Long story short. They settled on global pollution as the enemy. This is why we currently have this climate change crap.
I wish I could be more precise but I had to return the book to the library. If anyone out there has a copy of the book I believe the info is in the last 2 chapters. thanks

      15. and the fear mongering keeps coming, someone is making a lot of money from all this crap 24/7

        • Ummmm… then DON’T come to this site.

          Next question.

        • @ old70 did ya miss out on the ’08 crash?

Here’s a “Warning” on a no bull economics site.
          ht tp://www.forecasts.org/
I’ve been watching this site for years and never seen this before. Somethings up.

          • Porter Stansberry says that in fact, a massive crash DID already occur – it was just massaged by the media. Would you have believed it 10 years ago if I told you GM would go bankrupt? That massive AIG would, along with Lehman Bros?? That housing prices would go down across the country, something never seen before? And much more.

            You would not have believed.

            Quod erat demonstrandum.

They are doing the same thing with gay marriage. Repeat something enough time, and it sounds normal (incidentally, Dr. Maria Xiridou’ study showed that the average gay “marriage” has EIGHT outside partners per YEAR. Yeah.. some “marriage.” Don’t try that in YOUR house!Simply google her name and verify for yourself). Meanwhile, a massive number of radical gays (not all, of course) have made no bones about the fact that they don’t really want marriage – rather, they want to destroy the institution of marriage. Just look at some of the main architects of the radical gay movement, Madsen and Kirk, for verification.

            • Quod erat demonstrandum…straight out of the communist playbook. Beat it into the masses that the world if flat until they know nothing else.

Homosexuality is a fluke of nature. These creatures can’t reproduce hence in the real world they die out. Of course, i can jump into some conspiracy theory and guess that TPTB have pushed homo into our society to lure the weak minded into this behavior for population control. I guess…

      16. And that idiotic “2014 was the warmest ever scam?” Really? Besides the “Yes we can/Yes we have no bananas” gullible types, does anyone still swallow this horse manure? First, there has been ZERO global warming since 1998. ZERO. Even the co-opted IPCC admits this. Last Oct.- March was THE coldest in N. America in 100 years… and NASA reported THE coldest temp ever in Antarctica the year before, – 135.8F. Antarctic ice is at an all time EVER extent. But I digress…

First, BIG GREEN MONEY global warming is all about computer models (which Dr. Richard Lindzen, prof of atmospheric science at a little institution called MIT called examples of “unintelligent design… he also called AGW a “scam” as has John Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel) – except the warmers’ models have been consistently wrong. They tried “climate change,” even the leftists were embarrassed at that one. They also tried blaming the free market, and that on is still in play (yes, they really think everyone can all live off of everyone else). So…. what is the BIG GREEN MONEY cabal to do?

“OK” thinks the fascist left, “…let’s try ‘2014 was the hottest ever.’ I’ll bet we can get the gullible to buy into that!” The problem is, the ***satellite**** n data – which is a zillion times more reliable than thermometer data (including the famed placing of thermometers over black asphalt scam) shows 2014 was nothing worth reporting. Even with the thermometer data, there was a merely a few hundredth of a degree difference between the years, well with the margin of scientific error. Heck, even the Climate Doofus of the Year, Seth Boringstein was forced to issue a correction and noted the low probability that 2014 was the warmest and conceded that the hundredths of a degree difference “falls within a margin of error that lessens the certainty.”

In fact, astrophysicist Dr. David Whitehouse said “The NASA press release is highly misleading…talk of a record is scientifically and statistically meaningless” and the RSS (Remote Sensing Systems) satellite dataset shows ZILCH, NADA, ZERO global warming at all for 219 months from October 1996 to December 2014 – more than half the 432-month satellite record (see http://www.climatedepot.com/2015/01/03/the-great-pause-lengthens-again-global-temperature-update-the-pause-is-now-18-years-3-months/ for more details).

Of course, that big snow on the East Coast was due to global warming…same as if there had been record warmth, record drought and of course, record cold (cf. last year’s polar vortex, which was caused by – yup, you guessed it –global warming. In fact, there has been ZILCH global warming now for 18 years. http://www.climatedepot.com/2015/01/24/media-retreats-ap-issues-clarification-on-hottest-year-story-claims-fall-within-a-margin-of-error-that-lessens-the-certainty/

As noted, so.. why the big push? Simple: a.) they think, like Obamacare’s Jonathan Gruber, that Americans are stupid, and have forgotten ClimateGate I and II; b.) they only have two years left with Obama to get their agenda completed; c.) there are BILLIONS in BIG GREEN MONEY behind this, including favs of yours and mine, like Goldman Sachs, George Soros, carbon billionaire Al Gore, etc. ; d.) finally, and most importantly, if you control energy, you control everything it touches, which is… well, everything. A socialists dream, and a great way to redistribute all that wealth you worked so hard for. http://www.climatedepot.com/2015/01/18/update-feds-conning-the-public-scientists-accuse-nasa-of-misleading-lying-about-hottest-year-claim/ also has some good detail on the scam

        • Good luck with getting by when TSHF , I know I’m a world away from you guys, other hemisphere actually LOL ! We are getting dumped and covered in BS daily here too ! But the story that sticks in my paw the most is Since 2011 when Japan was wiped by that Tsunami that took out FUKashima’s NUclear Reactors (2) they have been ever since leaking around 40,000 litres of nuclear waste that they are trying to keep the cores cool from fusion, the treated water is leaking into the Pacific Ocean every day cause the Japs can’t fix the pumps and are too proud to ask for help ! The waste is diluting but steadily heading for yours and Europes coastlines, before eventually coming down our way ! If you go fishing , don’t forget your Geiger Counters !

the Free SH_T Army at the top of the economic pyramid
        will ALWAYS make money
the 99% WILL be thrown under the bus

        wash
        rinse repeat
the pattern of looting NEVER changes

        1) Those in charge of regulating the system will lie, cheat and steal rather than be honest to those who they are meant to protect (individual investors and the public).

        2) Any financial problem that surfaces will be dealt with via fraud or lies rather simply allowing those who screwed up to be fired or go to jail.

        3) When the inevitable collapse finally does hit, it will be individual investors and the general public who get screwed (not bank executives or politicians).

        4) The problem will be prolonged as much as possible, likely fixed years down the road, if ever and individuals will have little or no say in how it pans out.”

      18. There is clear evidence of the fact that it was WARMER than today 1,000 years ago at http://motls.blogspot.com/2012/03/paper-antarctica-did-experience-both.html#more.

But here is the kicker: an ancient tree stump a hundred km NORTH of today’s treeline in Western Canada, as found at Dr. Tim Ball’s website, showing a white spruce (Picea glauca (white spruce) stump on the Tuktoyaktuk Peninsula in tundra, some 100km north of the current treeline. Photo by Professor Ritchie (University of Toronto). Radiocarbon date was 4940 ±140 years Before Present (BP), and was featured in Hubert Lamb’s classic work Climate, Present, Past and Future. See http://drtimball.com/2012/sensationalist-and-distorted-climate-stories-increase-as-climate-science-failures-exposed/ for this picture, as well as other AGW info.

Tell me, anti-science leftists: HOW did that tree stump get there??

Similarly, two recent papers, reported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, one in Earth-Science Reviews and the other is in Chinese Science Bulletin, reported studies of “key chemical contents in micro-drilled giant clams shells and coral samples to demonstrate that in the South China Sea the warm period of the Middle Ages was warmer than the present. The scientists examined surveys of the ratio of strontium to calcium content and heavy oxygen isotopes, both are sensitive recorders of sea surface temperatures past and present. The aragonite bicarbonate of the Tridacna gigas clam-shell is so fine-grained that daily growth-lines are exposed by micro-drilling with an exceptionally fine drill-bit, allowing an exceptionally detailed time-series of sea-temperature changes to be compiled – a feat of detection worthy of Sherlock Holmes himself. By using overlaps between successive generations of giant clams and corals, the three scientists – Hong Yan of the Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Willie Soon of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and Yuhong Wang of Fudan University, Shanghai – reconstructed a record of sea-surface temperature changes going back 2500 years.

The Roman and Mediaeval Warm Periods both showed up prominently in the western Pacific and East Asia. Sea surface temperatures varied considerably over the 2500-year period.” Dr. Soon concludes :” “The UN’s climate panel should never have trusted the claim that the medieval warm period was mainly a European phenomenon. It was clearly warm in South China Sea, too.”
Another study, by earth sciences professor Zunli Lu (formerly of Oxford, now at Syracuse Univ.), studied samples of crystal called ikaite, which forms in cold water, and will melt at room temperature. Samples were taken by Lu and colleagues, examined for variation caused by temperature fluctuations during formation, and dated. The result? Lu writes: “This ikaite record qualitatively supports that both the Medieval Warm Period and Little Ice Age extended to the Antarctic Peninsula.” What does this mean? It means that the MWP was not simply a localized event in northern Europe, or even the northern hemisphere. And if it was as warm 1,000 years ago as now all over the world, Al Gore is simply wrong. Study summary by the UK Register at http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/03/23/warm_period_little_ice_age_global/

In a study by Kobashi, et al, entitled Summit Surface Snow Temperatures of Greenland, found at http://www.nipccreport.org/articles/2012/mar/20mar2012a1.html, there is further corroboration of Dr. Tim Ball’s contention that the MWP was real. In sum, this study illustrated that: “Greenland surface snow temperature variability over the past 4000 years at the GISP2 site (near the Summit of the Greenland ice sheet) with a new method that utilizes argon and nitrogen isotopic ratios from occluded air bubbles. In so doing, the eight researchers report that the average Greenland snow temperature over the past 4000 years was -30.7°C, while the current decadal (2001-2010) surface temperature at the Greenland Summit is -29.9°C, which they say is as warm as it was there in the 1930s-1940s. And they add that “there was another similarly warm period (-29.7°C) in the 1140s (Medieval Warm Period), indicating that the present decade is not outside the envelope of variability of the last 1000 years.”

Even more telling, prior to the last millennium they report “there were 72 decades warmer than the present one, in which mean temperatures were 1.0 to 1.5°C warmer.” In fact, they found that “during two intervals (~1300 BP and ~3360 BP) centennial average temperatures were nearly 1.0°C warmer (-28.9°C) than the present decade.”
The article concludes that “Clearly, there is nothing unusual, unnatural or unprecedented about Greenland’s recent relative warmth, as it is clear that much warmer temperatures have been experienced there over many prior prolonged periods without any help from anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. There is no valid reason to believe that mankind’s burning of coal, gas and oil has had, or is having, any measureable impact on the climate of that part of the world, or any other part of the planet.”

      19. Been hearing thos stuf for 40 years. Will it happen? Probably. When? Who knows. How will it happen. Most likely in an unexpected way and precipitated by a totally unexpected event. Also, most likely many preppers will e the first tog o beause they are so arrogant and convinced of their own invincibility. A significant percentage of “god-fearing” preppers will also become homicidal maniacs. In the meantime, unscrupulous persons will continue to prey on and enrich themselves off the sheeple.

        • Agreed, but I think the biggest god fearing preppers already ARE homicidal maniacs.

          • Time for mommy to put anon to bed and give him his meds.

          • Really? Really?? According to the heavily researched The Black Book of Communism, published by Oxford Univ. Press, YOU secular humanists ********murdered******* n 100 freaking MILLION last century. Dr. RJ Rummel of Univ. of Hawaii puts the number at 170 MILLION.

Your post is disgusting, absurd and utterly uninformed. I can only assume you have some issue with pyschological projection, correct?

          • Anonymous….. Such stupid comment from someone who refers to GOD as god is typical.

            • Stolz:

Or the ones who post their god g-d. Look up g-d on your search engine. You will find it to be the Jews g-d.

A real good study of why Judeo-Christian is an oxymoron can be found at THEIR info websites:

Judaism 101 or Jews Virtual Library.

I see Hagee, the israelie first pastor/preacher on Faux News with Megan Kelly promoting us into WW3. The Bible says there will be false preacher/teachers in “those days” and Hagee is one at the top of the heap.

Prepare to send your kids to die in the Middle East for their g-d.

        • “God-fearing preppers will become homicidal maniacs????”

Ummmm… anyone that is God fearing would agree with God, presumably, who states in His word: “For I take no delight in the death of anyone, declares the sovereign LORD…” Ezekiel 18:32

I’m afraid you are under a serious misapprehension about what “God-fearing” means. There are, of course, valid cases for just war, certain police actions, and self-defense using force, but “homicidal maniacs?” Not any serious, Bible-reading Christian I have ever met.

          • What does “God fearing” mean?

Without getting into too many specifics of translations, I will just say this; that many words used by the KJV translators, from Greek and Hebrew, into “old” english, was not as clear as maybe should have been.

That is why serious students and followers of God’s Word need to have other study tools available to help clarification.

With a copy of the original 1611 KJV, of which i have, came a letter from the translators explaining that they were sometimes limited by the usage of English words as to the best translations and that individuals should research and rightly divide the word for themselves. Especially since the English language is an ever changing one.

On “God fearing”, the right and better translation should be “revering”, when used in the context of true believers. If a “true” christian is trying to do the right things and keeps Christ at the center of their worship and devotion, then, there is nothing to fear from God or anyone else. Revere means simply to respect and trust. A far cry from fear.

On the other hand; an evil person, or anti-Christ, anti-God, atheistic, baby murderer, and homosexual person, has plenty to fear. So in the context of referring to those types, they have plenty to fear. Why? A non-repentant soul is in danger of wrath, judgment, and death, from their Creator. It is as simple as that.

If a person loves their Heavenly Father and Saviour, than God fearing isn’t a term they need be nervous about.
I seriously doubt God starts off each day by saying…”Who can I zap today”?

            • Well put

            • Great post PWTW.

            • Great post PWTW.

          • I agree with you test.I think Anon is trolling and controlling the narrative or maybe just gets off on annoying everyone.

            • Old Nam Vet:

Could be way deeper than that. Israel Mnistry is paying people to cruise the net looking for anyone who is in disagreement with their policies and beliefs.

Anonymous has one-liners that are to ridicule posters. Never any info to rebut the posts. Keep checking; you will find anonymous does just that.

It, anonymous, should be popping up to post some real intelligent comment about my post at any time now……

        • A significant percentage of “god-fearing” preppers will also become homicidal maniacs.

“Wow, I feel good. I knew that I would now.”

          James Brown.

          • Good one, sling.

      20. … and for fun, go to YouTube and search for “John Coleman+global warming.”

Coleman is the founder of the Weather Channel, and has called the whole AGW thing a “scam,” as has Dr. Richard Lindzen, professor of atmospheric science at MIT. In fact, the late Frederick Seitz Past President of the National Academy of Sciences sponsored a petition against the whole global warming façade at http://www.oism.org/pproject/. Over 19,000 scientist have signed this petition , as opposed to the 600 the U.N. could scrounge up, and some of these 600 have since reconsidered their past agreement, such as Nobel Prize winning physicist Ivar Giaever who stated in an update to the U.S. Senate Minority report for 2007 that “Global warming has become a new religion” and “I am a skeptic.” Later, in 20011, Giaver upped the ante by resigning from the American Physical Society, stating “”The claim … is that the temperature has changed from ~288.0 to ~288.8 degree Kelvin in about 150 years, which (if true) means to me is that the temperature has been amazingly stable, and both human health and happiness have definitely improved in this ‘warming’ period.”

Japanese scientist Kiniori Itoh, another former IPCC member has called Gorian warming a “scientific scandal,” while noting that people “will feel deceived by science and scientists” when they learn the truth. For a complete list of signees to the OISM petition – which includes a simply staggering number of Ph.Ds, – see http://www.oism.org/pproject/., where they are arranged in alphabetical order. Meanwhile a similar petition at http://www.petitionproject.org as of Jan., 2010 – had 31,486 scientist signatures, including 9,029 with Ph.Ds, disagreeing with anthropogenic global warming (the minimum qualifier to be on the petition is a BA in a field related to climate).

        • Some more facts for my text file scrapbook, thanks.

      21. To paraphrase Trotsky, “You may not be interested in the leftist scam of faux global warming, but faux global warming (and associated leftist/globalist control) is interested in YOU… (and the trillions and socialist control that comes with it).”

All part of Fabian socialism, Antonio Gramsci, Herbert Marcuse the Frankfurt School leftists/fascist, etc. Again, you may not know who these folks are, but they know who YOU are – and want your lives, your money, your family, and your soul.

        • They may be able to take my life, my money and my family, but they can’t take my soul—I have to give that up myself…and it ain’t gonna happen.

        • And my grits TEST. Don’t forget about my grits… Big sad face.

          • I hear ya fats! How the hell could test think ANYTHING is more important than grits? That boy just ain’t right in his mind now.

      22. with the influx of aliens from the southern border it requires us to feed another 20 million people. So many takers for limited supply. Something is going to break shortly.I look for rationing of many items…..like Venezuela.

        • The first sign that the politicians get it…In New Mexico no less. There are two bills they are trying to get passed in NM. The first part will recall all drivers licenses passed out to illegals. The second part will recall any ID cards passed out to illegals. So now with a legit ID, illegals could easily go anywhere in the country with little to worry about.

It was well known in certain circles in Albuquerque that a certain DMV office would pass out IDs and drivers licenses to illegals. They finally shut it down.

          • Politicians who finally “get it”? Now we REALLY have to worry.

            • You should understand that the only time politicians “get it” is when they’ve been hammered in the pocketbook. Funny the correlation of the economy tanking and the sudden interest in removing things that are hurting the economy.

      23. Just bought 20 three week old meat chicks for $1 each, they will be in the freezer in about 10 weeks.

I don’t trust the FDA approved meat and raise my own rabbits, chickens, ducks and vegtables from the garden, also the exercise from taking care of the stuff keeps me fit and not over weight.

We raise good quality food that we know is safe and we stay fit doing it. It does not take alot of land, and the rabbit manure is the best fertilizer you can get.

Even if you are a vegetarian you need rabbits for the fertilizer.

      24. US food production would probably increase 20% or more if those golf green laws in the suburbs became vegetable gardens.

As my Great Uncle Nunzio used to say, “You no grow if you no eat”.

        • oops

          Lawns not Laws.

        • @ Kevin 2

If someone has a green thumb, and the acreage, go for it.

My reservation is, why put 1500 calories of work spading, hoeing, weeding etc into something (tomatoes, lets say) that is going to return you 50 calories of food value?
One could not eat enough tomatoes to reverse the calorie deficit.

          • 🙂 It’s all about scale Big John. Put in one tomato plant and get maybe 20 or 30 tomatoes depending on how you do it. Put in a whole row of tomatoes and get several hundred tomatoes. To be dried, canned etc…. Put in a couple of rows of potatoes, a couple of rows of squash a couple of rows of corn a couple…… I bet ya got it now!

          • You don’t grow tomatoes for the calories. You grow them because they taste good and have nutrients that your body needs.

And your calorie calculation is way off. I can plant a lot of tomato plants in just one day that will supply me with a year supply.

And I don’t do any hoeing or weeding either. I use square foot gardening and tie the tomato vines to wires strung between 4×4 treated posts. I set this up a few years ago and won’t have to replace anything for many years. BTW, I have two sets of the wires so I can switch locations.

            • Same here, archivist.

I use a post hole digger, and dig a ten inch round, two feet deep, hole, and fill with compost and a mixture of sand and dark top soil, all mixed.

I make a circular wire cage from 48″ tall heavy cattle fence, with the four to five inch square holes, about two feet diameter. My fence has smaller squares near the bottom that help keep out the rabbits and young ground hogs that crawl up the main perimeter fencing or burrow in.

No digging anymore, and very little weeding. Just watering almost everyday with rain water caught up in a gutter downspout catch barrel. No chemically treated city water for my tomato plants, or any plants for that matter.

These holes will work for several years and i do add a little pulverized lime at late winter when i spice up the holes with extra compost. Easy on the liquid fertilizer mix, after the tomatoes start forming. Stop all liquid fertilizer about two to three weeks before harvesting begins. Too many chemicals for the tomatoes to taste their best.

              • I don’t use fertilizer. I add compost each year to replace the material that comes out of the beds when I pull the old plants. I don’t use poisons either, so my vegetables are truly organic. It’s cheaper too.

        • KEV-
Uncle should have said : “you no eat if you no grow.”
          Right ?

          • I think that was his Italian uncle that said to him “U toucha my car, I breaka u face: as well….

          • No.

He actually said in broken english with a heavy Italian accent; “You no grow if you no eat”.

Translation; Don’t grow anything if you don’t intend to eat it.

This guy retired from DuPont with $100,000 in stock in 1960. He operated the internal rail road. an engineer I guess. Never owned a car, went rabbit hunting with two shells and if he didn’t get two rabbits he cursed the shell manufacturer saying, “shell a no good”. His garden was organic long before the word was used as the chicken waste was fertilizer.

      25. There is a growing feeling by many that the collapse is frightenly close. The wife and I will continue to keep things topped off until the last minute. In the event of something close we will make a final supply run. Good luck all.

      26. Well, will be moderated but here is a direct link to food for a year for 300,will vary due to choices and region but a good start,I hate the moderation of importent links but here it is: http://americanpreppersnetwork.com/2012/08/a-year-of-food-storage-for-300-for-a-family-of-four.html ,many folks working barely surviving pay check to pay check, hope this helps see there is a cheap way to get started.I will say though greatly like the posters/forum am leaning away from it due to changes, will visit occasionally and say hello and hopefully have some info. to spread that is helpful but feel with moderation/waiting for loading due to thumbs/being sent to another page repeatedly tis starting to become more hassle then tis worth, best to all here and the site.

      27. Hey guys! Sorry, alittle off topic, but how is it that with prep items, i never hear anything about the importance of having spare parts for your firearm, plus cleaning supplys, if you are going to have a firearms and ammo, don’t forget everything that you might need for a prolonged period of time. Accidents happen, stuff breaks all tge time….. I am preaching to The choir i know, but just for the new preppers out there who have woken from their slumber. Just trying to be helpful. Again, sorry for going off topic……

        • Ohevi, that’s OK, you did post something very important. I’m trying to get some spare parts kits for my weapons as I type this. Got plenty of ammo and cleaning supplies, but, oh well, still getting more. Never can have too much of anything important.

        • Ohevi

For the never ending line of New Preppers.
          Newbies gotta love them. Hahahaha!

        • Real good point,
          Also spares!
Was reading a book where the people ended up in a firefight against a gang trying to do a home invasion, guy got his rifle shot right at the point where the trigger group and upper come together, basicly was a throw away, if you dont have a spare could be a life or death moment.

          • Spare parts won’t do him any good. Best policy is to have spare firearms.

          • I carry two 1911s always and they both always go bang.

        • Especially springs. Two is one and one is none.

        • Thanks for the tip! 😉 don’t let other people scare you off track…

        • probably because most people just naturally have spare parts for their firearms, and any gun owner worth his salt will have cleaning supplies. It’s a no-brainer for most.

          • Yea, i spoke to a guy the other day who had no idea there was no 22lr ammo available and that when it did show up it was rationed,
He thought he was set with one box of each kind of ammo for his various guns, no clue that things are not quite right.
Maybe im just a nut but living on an island and growing up in the toolies like i did i like to have some provisions! Lived through a few shipping strikes and when there is none, there really is NONE! And people get kinda squirrly,

        • Ohevi, firearms owned and carried by non-commies is never off topic.
          Die commies, f em.

      28. MAC-
Your fired , TESS writes from now on .:)

      29. The free shit army out numbers the working people time to agnowledge we have no voice in this world anymore. The writing is on the wall folks. It is time to hide and hoard the things needed to survive the coming shit storm. The free shit army is coming to take what little left you have. Tptb have been thinking of new ways to steal from hard working folks. Just give them your account information and they will take it automatically who in their right mind trusts this .I still collect a live paycheck they handed me a paper about a year ago and told me I had to get direct deposit .I ripped it up and told them I don’t have a bank I live week to week. They looked at me like I was crazy .i don’t trust any company that is incompetent as mine to do this no way in hell. I have the things I need to get through a few months I don’t need more than this. Just maintaining the freshness of my stockpiles now. People we all know the day is coming that we may be on our own. The fear mongering is every day. there is this meat place that my wife goes to buy our meats they kill and butcher the animals right there and it’s all damn good stuff. She bought $35 worth of meats and the guy threw in a bag of chicken pieces free a true local business. Nice folks too this is where we go from now on even though it’s a little out of the way . Prices are better than the supermarket and better meats. There are farm stands all over too. I guess it depends where you live in this country. But people around here like to eat big. I don’t see food shortages happening but i still put things back just incase. You gotta think the times of famine in the past were brought on by poor harvests no good ways to preserve foods not enough because of bad farming methods no technology . I think it would take an asteroid hit to disrupt this. If you are poor and struggle to put food on the table now you are way behind the ball. Food is not that expensive I feed 4 including myself and I’m not broke. If you are buying that all organic stuff no wonder you are broke. The prices in those markets are through the roof. You are going to eat it and crap it out why spend big bucks on food.

      30. I still believe this will happen in Sept./Oct. of this year, and if it does, 2016 will be worldwide Hell on earth. Truly I pray not……but having an insurance policy ON HAND releases a lot of stress for the possibilities. Stay Well All

      31. My dream, as an American is to simply be left ALONE. I don’t bother people, I don’t steal or cheat. I have no mortgage, no credit card debt, no car payments. All I want is to be left alone on my one measly acre of land.

Is this too much to ask?

        • Bob,
Amen to that ! i think most of us can agree on that! just leave us alone!

          • Thanks Apache54

        • For leftists, who know all, and are far, far superior to use hoi polloi here in flyover country, yes, Bob, it IS too much to ask.

Sickening, isn’t it. That, mon ami, is the arrogance of socialism, which literally MURDERED 100 MILLION last century, per The Black Book of Communism, Stephan Courtois, et al (Oxford Univ. Press); the late Dr. RJ Rummel, Univ. of Hawaii, put the number closer to 170 million.

When they opened the Soviet archives in the early 90s, I recall them admitting to 60 some million “excess deaths” under communism. “Excess deaths” – classic case of litotes (understatement)

          • I wonder how many deaths have tolled under the guise of “democracy” and “freedom”…

        • “The essential American soul is hard, isolate, stoic, and a killer. It has never yet melted.” DH Lawrence

Americanism means the virtues of courage, honor, justice, truth, sincerity, and hardihood — the virtues that made America.
          – Theodore Roosevelt, 1917

You sound like a “classic” American to me. And no it’s not too much to ask.

          • I am a classic American. I don’t care about what others do.
I take care of my own and I never walk on others to get there.

My parents were Canadian, but I’m an American.

          • Killing is intent and Americans have intent. Always have, always will. It may be slow to rise, but intent wins in every fight. And don’t pick a fight with an old man – he’ll kill you.

            Commies everywhere.

            • How, by gumming you to death or boring you to death with his ancient history lessons?

        • Yes. Thats too much to ask. Got a job that keeps me away from the masses. Wife does too. Paid off house etc. just like you. Try missing that tax payment on your paid off house, or miss paying those tabs on your cars. You won’t be truly free until the government is abolished. Problem is the greedy bastards will use our taxes to take us down the tubes with them. Those preps you have? They get all but three days worth or so according to the new NDAA. Did you ever play a game with someone who kept changing the rules to their benefit? Problem is that THESE “players” have a gun to your head. Wanna be left alone? You’re a terrorist! Self sufficient? Terrorist. Look at some lf the comments in this string. Posters saying preppers are arrogant and going to die blah blah blah. We can’t even come together on this website. Hang together, or HANG SEPERATELY.

          • Dirk they are commies. Including commies on this site. They red thumb everything that is against communism including the communist in the white hut.

        • Helen Reddy had a hit song called
“Leave Me Alone” – from back in the day.

      32. This is just another false flag mind game to hide what’s going on. Sure, we’ve got more mouths to feed in this country, but countries like Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Australia and New Zealand are still producing food to export to us, to help feed us. But the global dynamics has changed.

The problem is, that countries like China and India have boomed in the last two decades. The size of there Middle Class has grown by many tens of millions, with money to spend and invest. They are able to afford better food and greater quantities of it. They are importing food from South America and Australasia, taking food that’s normally sent to feed Americans, as fast as it can be grown, because they have the money to pay for it. The new Chinese and Indian Middle Class, are quite literally taking food out of American mouths.

That’s what’s really happening to us. The world literally don’t need us any more.

        • …and we make it even worse, by thinking it’s our place to POLICE the world. I’ll bet there are several countries who are sick and tired of us bombing people into “freedom and democracy”…

          • I know I’m sick and tired of it

        • More importantly, the US is still exporting 50% of the wheat we grow, and 13% of the maize, (corn). We would be exporting much more corn, but we waste it making motor fuel instead.

Don’t look for food shortages in the USA anytime soon, unless transportation breakdowns create temporary local shortages.

      33. Off Topic:

Being 95% prepared for just about anything I am now afforded the ability to expand on various prepping projects. A couple of things I doing:

        1. Staking mining claims on National Forest Lands. This has given me two new bug out locations using two separate major interstate and side roads to get to either depending on traffic flows.

        2. One of the cheapest sources I have found and am now using for rotating my preps is Walmart on line. Anything over $50.00 and shipping is not only free but I receive the order within 5 working days, four days earlier than promised. Prices are excellent.

        BigB

        • How are you staking mining claims on National Forest Lands? The govt has sold most of that to China, and we don’t even have the right to use forest lands, much less “stake a claim” to any of it.

Don’t you remember during the faux govt shutdown, the feds closed the forest lands to citizens? They’ve made it clear THEY own the land. THEY own the minerals and resources, even the water beneath it. They control the air above it.

What exactly do you mean by “stake a claim on national forest lands?

          • Yes sixpack, it is true. Google it. I have just bought one and am serious about another. One for $2,500.00 and the other one the guy wants $3,000.00. Both in different National Forests. You own the mineral rights and have al rights to the use of the land. The one I already bought and the one I am eyeballing are both 40 acre parcels. There are a bunch of rules and reg’s but there is virtually no one checking them out. Check out:

            http://www.goldmapsonline.com/california-gold-map.html

And to keep it you only have to pay $310.00 per year.

            BigB

            • Thanks for the link. Here in oregon, they’ve started pushing people living in, or on the borders of national forests out of their homes. Regulations suck when they can wield them any way they please and you can’t fight back.

          • My answer with a web site is in moderation.

            BigB

          • “They” can go fuck themselves!

      34. Cheap is a good scope, a great trigger, having it, and being used to disgusting scenes…

      35. Prep all you want infidels, it will not help. My plan is to destroy America and Britain also Israel. Islam will rule the globe and the great Allah will forever rule the earth.
Wait till you see what is coming, millions of immigrants, millions of illegals, benefits,or whatever they want from taxpayers. Michelle and I will live happily on our hidden tropical island with a few hundred chosen friends, more luxurious than anything in America. All paid for by you.
The Muslim call to prayer will eventually be heard all over America.

        • Many a true word said in jest!

        • Death to you and your ilk!
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we will send you and your trash back to hell!

        • living in hell with 100 ass kissers…. serves you right

      36. Hog prices are now half what they were last summer. Farm gate milk prices are predicted to be half come spring what they were last summer. Fuel costs have tumbled. All of these as result of excess supply. There may well come a day when there isn’t enough or what there is is cost prohibitive. But, for now the opposite extreme is often the more evident scenario.

        • Hog prices are down due to over production of hogs in China, where pork is THE white meat. They have also acquired the largest American producer and distributor of pork.

          That’s all folks! 🙂

      37. For a couple hundred dollars, one can plant several kinds of fruit trees. One medium apple tree can feed you for a long time. i know it might take a couple of years to get big enough to provide much but you never know how lng you have. The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now. Also, if you have much forest around you, look for trees such as walnuts, hickories, pecans, mulberries, pawpaw, persimmons, etc. Depending of course where you live these could provide alot of extra calories.

      38. There was just now a really fraggin huge explosion in the Ukraine…

        O_O

        Ok yeah, now we’re worried.

      39. Was that a nuke blast in Ukraine? Some internet sources think it might have been. Other news sources say it was just artillery hitting an ammo dump or something. Either way, there was a mushroom cloud and a heck of a bang. Makes one go ‘Hmmmmm…’

        • Personally, i want to know what is REALLY going on in Ukraine,
Am tired of the propaganda, MSM, AltMedia, Russian MSM, there is no way for average folks to know what the truth is, only that NONE of the media outlets are broadcasting 100% true facts and details, tried to get info from a local doc who is from Ukraine and still has family there but he wouldnt say anything, other than that the media is all giving un true accounts.

      40. The time to prepare has past if your not set up by now you are behind the power curve folks. With all the fear mongering going on these days you have to be a fool to not take steps to protect yourself. It’s not like all this is new news. The facade is coming down slowly soon you will see the ugly of what’s underneath it. Your home is your biggest prep have it secured the shit storm is coming. My prediction is this summer some kind of false flag happening that will set the ball rolling.

        • It will always be “next summer” and then it will be “next spring.”
          Bunch of commie cowards.

      41. Wife just got back from a business trip to Denmark. The Danes are up to their eyeballs in Muslims, and are seeing their Culture being replaced. So the Danish citizens are petitioning their government to pass a law where only 5% of the population can be Muslim Immigrants. If it goes above 5%, “The Rags” get deported back to the hellhole that they came from.

Denmark is a very small country with only a population of around 6 million, so the Muslims targeted it as a foothold in Europe early on.

        “Watch out fur them hogs”

        • Same thing has happened in Belgium and the Netherlands. There are so many muslims they are able to write the laws in their favor. All the while crying islamaphobia. We got it here as well the gays, the blacks, etc.
I don’t who wrote the playbook on this shit, but we need to find that book and burn it.

          • Well said ed. That’s the friggin’ European truth. Islam out.

          • Ed:

Albert Pike would be a good start for your ‘playbook’.

Lest anyone think him to be a fool…..check to see how many statues, etc., honoring him is in the United States.

      42. YOU TUBE

        JOHNNY CASH

        WHEN THE MAN COMES

      43. What about peak immigration?

      44. The Baltic Dry Index continues to sink. 559. The lowest reading in more than 30 years. And the war propaganda is cranking up every day.

      45. Thats the trouble because the “American dream” was just something dreamed up in Hollywood and we know who controls that.

Think of the crash as a redistrubution of wealth and a cacelation of debt to the bankers and you won’t need to worry about the government spending your tax money on things you don’t agree with because taxes will end too.

Keep allowing the zionists puppets from the US to upset Russia and China and your “dream” will end in a sudden flash of white light and a burning feeling.

Bankers and politicians who are taking bribes need to be hung after being tried in public and held to account for any treason they have commited but we will have to deal with the police first.

      46. American dreams been dead awhile, at least for most Americans. All that “you’re free in America” and “you can be whatever you want here” and “as long as you work hard you’ll be successful” talk we heard from adults growing up was bullshit

      47. You are right He says. I came here 25 years ago. Legal, pay my taxes to the T, work like a dork, and so hard (everybody tells me so). Today I am living on the streets as illgals are being issued CA DL and being rewarded for having been the thugs that they have been. If I ask for help. I get chicken shit. And I don’t do any drugs, or any crap. Not even smoking. Job ready and all. I used to think there is something wrong with me. But now I see 1000’s of people dealing with the same garbage and simply hurting in silence because they are just too embarrassed to admit to the truth, out of fear of being labeled “losers”. No one is willing to acknowledge the scam, the lie.
