The Impending Catastrophe: “It’s Not Difficult To See This Coming”

The following analysis and commentary have been contributed by Karl Denninger and The Market Ticker. Karl is the author of Leverage: How Cheap Money Will Destroy the World in which he discusses the ill-use of leverage and how it is destroying the global economy, as well as where all of this will lead. The result is ugly: the value of everything—including gold—falls, and even personal safety is at risk in a world where there is limited money even for essentials like food and fuel.

It’s not difficult to see this coming, if you bother to look.

There is no rule of law any more if you’re a government employee — or one of those protected by same.

Let’s put together just a partial list:

    • Health care.  Monopoly and/or cartel behavior of any sort is supposed to be illegal under 15 USC (Sherman and Clayton Acts) if market power exists.  When you’re flat on your ass with a heart attack in process there is no market; ergo, it exists.  Ditto when you were just stung by a scorpion, or when the so-called “treating facility” refuses to present you with a price before they have you on the operating table — and they told you that the operation was immediately necessary to save your health and/or life.  That’s essentially all procedures except for elective, cosmetic ones — where there is actual competition and prices have fallen over time.  All of this behavior, from charging $60,000 for two $100 vials of scorpion antivenom, charging someone $9,000 to bandage a finger or billing a routine $10-30 test at $10,000 is part and parcel of this, and in any unprotected line of business everyone involved would do 10 years of prison time and be fined $1 million each.
    • Government agencies, such as the IRS and NSA.  The number of times that have been documented in which perjury has been committed, a crime, (cough-Clapper-cough!) is too long to list.  We now find out that in the IRS targeting investigation not only is there a backup of Lerner’s computer (as I originally asserted there had to be) but IRS lawyers admitted to the intentional destruction of the data on her BlackBerry after the investigation began.  For you or I that would immediately result in an obstruction of justice felony charge leveled against everyone involved – including Lerner herself.  Well, where is it?
    • Education.  Cartel behavior at its finest.  You can find virtually any sort of knowledge and lectures on any topic you wish online nowdays.  Yet without obtaining them at a price infinitely higher than those freely available, the exact same material I might add and often delivered by the exact same professors, your knowledge is deemed immaterial and worthless.  This occurs due to cartel behavior between universities and businesses — again, something that should bring immediate prosecution under 15 USC.  Well, where is it?
    • Education again.  Not content to try to force you to pay them something they also conspire to force you to pay more.  Once you’re a captive sucker you get hammered on all sides; you are first told to file a FASFA in which your parents must disclose their assets and income, never mind that you’re an adult.  Then, if you’re not poor, despite this being sold to you as being a means of obtaining “aid”, you are offered only loans, which are not aid at all.  This particular cartel behavior includes the government as they will attempt to force you to file one even to claim things they say are earned, such as “Bright Futures” scholarships!  Once you get to class it’s even worse; your son or daughter who paid the full price (and had to borrow the money and thus pay interest too!) is sitting next to a kid who paid little or nothing.  How?  Your son or daughter was effectively forced to buy his tuition!  Communism at its finest, all at gunpoint.
    • So-called “law enforcement.”  Point a gun at another person when you are not legally permitted to shoot (e.g. to stop a forcible felony in process) and you are arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon (or aggravated assault in some jurisdictions.)  The identical behavior was documented on video and still camera images all over Ferguson by the police; where are the indictments?
    • Banks.  Swindle someone out of $10,000 and it’s grand theft, extortion, fraud or any one of a dozen other crimes, all serious felonies.  Hell, all you have to do is a pass a bad check in many jurisdictions to wind up on the wrong end of a felony indictment!  It has been proved that myriad large banks sold securities to customers representing them as “good investments” when in fact their own internal emails document that their staff called them “vomit” (and other similar names) — that is, they knew they were worthless.  Where are the indictments?
    • The Federal Reserve.  The Federal Reserve Act specifically charges the FOMC with regulating both money and credit so as to maintain stableprices, moderate long term interest rates and maximum employment.  Maximum employment may be a loosely-defined goal as may “moderate” long-term interest rates but stable is not a fuzzy word.  The Federal Reserve has willfully and intentionally violated this mandate serially since its inception.  You have about 3-4% of your earnings power stolen every single year as a consequence.  Where are the indictments?
    • Ben Bernanke has admitted that (in his view) virtually all systemically important financial firms were on the edge of collapse in 2008.  This, he cites, is justification for his extraordinary policy moves.  There’s a problem — his mandate is to regulate said money and credit systems all the time, not just in a crisis.  That filing is an admission that both he and the NY Fed failed to do so; that is, they failed to perform their statutory duty.  Why aren’t both he and Tim Geithner in prison, seeing as he made this admission before a court in a sworn filing?

Here’s the problem with this sort of behavior and the protection of same: Civility in general only exists because you, I, and most of the rest of society willingly conform our behavior to the law.

There are not enough cops, no matter what sort of badge and uniform they wear, to enforce the law otherwise.  If any material percentage of the population decides to behave as these people in their protected circumstances have and do the entirety of law and order collapses instantly.

Well, why is it that you permit the above to occur?  Why did you allow it to develop?  Why do you still allow it?

And how long will it before all of this theft and fraud renders you unable to keep your head above water?

Let me explain that for you: For most people you’re already unable.

Look at the stock market, as one example.  There is more margin debt outstanding than cash in accounts as of today, and in fact this margin is worse than ever before in history (yes, even worse than in 2007.)  In other words, but for the claimed paper value of said certificates the market is factually bankrupt right now on a gross, “every man” basis!

Almost 20% of the gross domestic product of this nation (that is, everything produced) is siphoned off by the health care “system” with its grift, extortion and abuse.  That’s nearly one dollar in five!  A look at other developed, first-world nations (e.g. Japan) discloses that we should be able to buy our health care for somewhere between 1/10th and 1/5th of what we pay today.  Were that to be the case there would be no need for Medicare, Medicaid or health insurance — Obamacare or otherwise! Medicare is a great example; you’re responsible for 20% of the cost, by default, and you must pay a premium to the government.  But if your care was anywhere from 1/5th to 1/10th of today’s price you would actually pay less than the co-pay and deductible you pay today and you wouldn’t pay any premium at all!  In other words, even for the old guy or gal that currently is “on the dole” and allegedly “getting something” you’d be better off financially without Medicare were all of these acts to be prosecuted instead of protected!  Whether you’re rich, poor, young or retired, this scam steals from you each and every day without delivering any more value than it would without the theft.

Take the scam out of education and the cost collapses.  Now you could flip pizzas to pay for college as you could in the 1970s and early 80s before those schemes were instituted.  Prosecute The Federal Reserve Board and Banks and the price of assets, including houses would collapse — probably by 75% or more.  Not only does this mean you could buy a house for far less but for those who choose not to or who can’t rents would come down by 3/4 as well!

Why do you need Section 8 and other similar programs when your cost of housing is cut to a tiny fraction of what it is today?

    You don’t!

If you believe that the cost of food hasn’t skyrocketed in the last five years you’re not paying attention.  It has.  Ditto for energy.  Oh yes, those are “excluded” from “inflation” numbers, but you have to buy them anyway.

So what happens when you can’t make the income balance against the outflow?  You borrow money in some form or fashion.

Yet that simply puts you further in the hole.

And that’s what’s been going since roughly 1980:

    impending catastrophe

Of course borrowing against nothing, that is, creating credit with nothing behind it, looks good initially because it makes it appear you can keep buying things.  Unfortunately that credit comes with both a requirement to repay it and interest; the latter is a huge problem because over time it compounds just as do earnings.

The usual chestnut is that borrowing stimulates production and is of net benefit.  But the facts are that when borrowing accumulates faster than output that assertion is proved false; what is really going on is that people are borrowing to either consume or speculate.  The former permanently destroys value and the latter leaves you exposed to instant insolvency since the alleged “price” of what you speculate on has been disconnected from its value and is now largely (or even entirely!) predicated only on what someone else will pay.

The majority opinion appears to be that as long as you can get your little piece of the grift, whether it be Medicare, Food Stamps, Section 8 or a rising stock market it’s all ok.  Ask yourself — is that actually true or are you deluding yourself?  Are you falling behind despite getting your little piece of the grift or are you getting ahead?  What about your children?  Are they able to get ahead?  Is the same sort of investment you made 20 or 30 years ago credible as a means for them to obtain results similar or superior to what you obtained, or are they staring down a black hole of indebtedness while pulling coffees at Starbucks?  How about that “new car”; nearly $40,000 today as a “median” price and loan terms extending toward eight years — when just a little while ago the normal term was four.  How’s the job market in your area?  More importantly than the number of jobs — how’s the pay and how does that compare against the increase in health care, food, fuel and insurance expenses you must pay every day just to remain solvent?

Think about it for a while.

Then once again contemplate this: For how long as you going to allow all of the above to continue?  Will you allow it to continue right up until civility is lost entirely or will you demand that it stop and that those committing these acts face the same charges and penalties that you or I would for the same offenses?

    impending-collapse

          From a Sarajevo War Survivor:
Experiencing horrible things that can happen in a war – death of parents and
friends, hunger and malnutrition, endless freezing cold, fear, sniper attacks.

          1. Stockpiling helps. but you never no how long trouble will last, so locate
          near renewable food sources.
          2. Living near a well with a manual pump is like being in Eden.
          3. After awhile, even gold can lose its luster. But there is no luxury in war
quite like toilet paper. Its surplus value is greater than gold’s.
          4. If you had to go without one utility, lose electricity – it’s the easiest to
do without (unless you’re in a very nice climate with no need for heat.)
          5. Canned foods are awesome, especially if their contents are tasty without
heating. One of the best things to stockpile is canned gravy – it makes a lot of
the dry unappetizing things you find to eat in war somewhat edible. Only needs
enough heat to “warm”, not to cook. It’s cheap too, especially if you buy it in
          bulk.
          6. Bring some books – escapist ones like romance or mysteries become more
valuable as the war continues. Sure, it’s great to have a lot of survival
guides, but you’ll figure most of that out on your own anyway – trust me, you’ll
have a lot of time on your hands.
          7. The feeling that you’re human can fade pretty fast. I can’t tell you how many
people I knew who would have traded a much needed meal for just a little bit of
toothpaste, rouge, soap or cologne. Not much point in fighting if you have to
lose your humanity. These things are morale-builders like nothing else.
          8. Slow burning candles and matches, matches, matches
          http://www.asamom.org/forum/topics/100-items-to-disappear-first

          • KyMom, Nice list, but if I may say, one item that you should stay away from and I still use it because my camp stove and lanterns are old and will only use “Coleman Fuel”. I tried to stock pile it once and those thin metal cans will rust out an leak your fuel away, also that stuff now cost almost 13 dollars a gallon at Wal-Mart. May be cheaper to buy new equipment. Trekker Out.

            • You ever see how fast Ebola or some other deadly pathogen comes on and literally flattens the most healthy people. Well, the economy and the world is already unhealthy, in bad shape. Imagine just how fast and how hard WHEN TRUE SHTF begins that the fall will be, just imagine. Most are totally clueless and the panic will paralyze people just how rapidly everything that most everyone has become accustomed to is gone, likely forever. Just has fast…………………

              • Be informed,

The World Health organization has released an update on Ebola.

WHO says Ebola outbreak could strike 20,000 people

The “actual number of (Ebola) cases could already be two to four times higher than the reported 3,069. The death toll stands at 1,552.”

Also, an outbreak of a different strain of Ebola has been identified in Congo. Numbers of those affected are NOT included.
(Link about the article at the bottom of the page)

                • Seriously KYM??????? A link to the list would have been a lot simpler.

            • MT,

Spray those metal cans of fuel with a clear poly coating…
It will dramatically lengthen the shelf life.
I use this method on unopened cans of boat stove alcohol.
Once opened, you can transfer to plastic isopropyl alcohol containers that you saved. It’s what I’ve been doing for decades and it works.

              • J- Great tip ! Had numerous Coleman Fuel containers never opened that contents literally vanished. Will pick up poly TODAY !

                • Hey J6,
Just a little extra added tip…spray top and sides first…
                  Let dry completely…very important! 24hrs…minimum…
Then turn upside down… support with wooden block on opposite side of cap to make level…
Then give the bottom a double dose!

                  Paint preservation:

After opening and using ANY kind of paint or varnish…
                  Without taking deep breath…normal breathing…
Exhale into can JUST before putting the lid on it…
You push out most of the oxygen…

I have reopened cans after nearly a decade…no skin!

                  • Oh…I forgot to give credit for both ideas…Thanks Dad!

              • I just switched to propane and got a converter hose to use my 20 pound grill tanks. The little tanks are about 10 dollars for a 4 pack at Sams club. but i can get a 20 pound tank filled for 13.75 at BJ’s Wholesale. and i can run my Coleman items for a very long time on it. from Coleman stoves to heaters they all work great. Also propane is a very stable fuel source and burns cleaner than others. It does not have the power that gas has but it works well for cooking and heating. I don’t recommend it for generators. Gas is better for that its much more efficient. On the note of small engines and generators. I have been talking to a small engine mechanic and he recommended to me to treat all my gas with Seafoam. It keeps the needles in the carborators lubed up and not sticking. During Sandy he cleaned so many generators he smelled like gas for a month because people left bad gas in there generators.

                • You can get a filler attachment at harbor freight to fill 1lb from large tanks.

            • Mountain man…

Don’t throw away that Coleman stove just yet. Coleman fuel or “white gas” as it used to be called, is nothing more than very low octane gasoline with no additives. We used to buy it right at the Sunoco station as a kid.

You can buy the lowest octane gas you can find and use it in your stove. It will still have a few additives in it but will work. You may find that you need to pull the generator every so often to clean it but that’s not hard to do.

              • JRS, I remember the white gas well, when I was a young teen my dad had a Skelly Station and sold white gas. Don’t guess white gas is still around, must have stopped making it when they removed lead from gas at the pump. So I can use the lowest octane gas in my old lanterns and cook stove? You ain’t trying to get rid of me are you. Trekker Out. Very Respectful Of Gasoline!

                • Short Story About The White Gas, My Dad had that Skelly station and had a trash barrel out back, and there was a old muffler with a piece of tail pipe on it, so I would get a cup of that gas and pour it in the tail pipe and drop a match down the pipe and it made a real cool flame thrower. So I did it one time and nothing happened and I leaned over to look down the pipe, guess what! Lost my eye lashes, eye brows and the hair off of the front of my head. Trekker Out. Guess I Was Lucky At That!

                  • I was just wondering, if the new Coleman stoves and lanterns are called Dual Fuel and we can use gasoline in the old ones what is the difference. No Brag, there’s not much that I am afraid of, but gasoline and fire get my respect. Trekker Out.

                  • i remember loosing my eye lashes one time when i was younger ,i went to a party and got hammered ,then woke up the next day with no eye lashes ,well aparently i was lighting my cigerettes off a gas stove ,in RE: to the flame thrower ,we used to put alcohol in an old canteen ,shake it around and put a match at the top it would blow a nice blue flame and sound like a train whistle ,it was fun till my older brother dropped it and caught the bed on fire

                  • Correction ,i lost my eyebrows not lashes

              • I’ve been doing that for years with the old “pump-style” coleman stoves. My dad taught me to use unleaded gas and gently agitate the tank before you put it back on. I have NEVER once used the coleman fuel, in a coleman stove, in my entire life. I don’t think I’ve ever even bought a can of it.

            • Here watch this Scam in Argentina unfold, how the Argentinian Government set up this large Drug Raid Scam, to arrest hundreds of people all at the same time. They set up this Bogus Green Convention, and under disguise they brought in all these law enforcement people from other areas pretending to be conventioneers / civilians. Then sprung their huge Drug raid onto the city all at the same time.

“The Largest Anti-Drug Operation in Argentina: Rosario Video – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l98IyhYYzXE&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I tell you this, as our US Government crashes our economy, they could do the same SCAM here in the US to bring in thousands of UN Troops to start Martial Law by disguising it as a National Greeny Convention into a large city then spring martial Law onto the community. Look for these signs of Foreign infiltrators into our country. Expose the truth at every turn. Pay Attention- Eyes Wide Open people.

              • You couldn’t drag me to a “greeny” convention with a team of horses…

            • Food cooking have plenty of wood, for lamps kerosene works fine and can fill fuel jugs with it,both items can/will attract attention so obviously use wisely.

              • Kerosene goes stale; you can’t stockpile it. Ditto gasoline. That’s why I got a Kelly Kettle.

                • 10 years old Kerosene still works fine in Oil lamps

                  • yes it does.

                • Sharonsj, you made a smart move with the Kelly Kettle. I bought one last March and fell in love with it. All you need for fuel is pine needles, twigs, leaves; “nature’s fuel” you might say. When I first tried mine, I managed to boil a pot of water in only 3 minutes. That’s faster than my old Coleman propane stove will do. I bought the base camp model. I wouldn’t have anything else now.

                  • Another on with a storm kettle – my Grand dad had one and used to send me collecting twigs and moss as a young child. If you are careful to ensure they don’t burn dry they can last a life time, mine is over a decade old and will be handed down to my son when my time comes.

Apart from the fuel aspect, I love the fact that they don’t go out in rain storms and the like. Use a bent wire coat hanger as a pot holder with your existing pots and pans to keep the costs of your purchase down.

                • Pri-D and Pri-G
                  great products for preserving fuels
                  been using them for years

                • Gasoline goes bad it turns into kerosene, kerosene kept in a tight container is good for decades.

            • Your list is terrible, you forgot the basics: 101 Pizza coupons; 102 Book of the Month Subscriptions; 103 Extra $200 per pair tennies; 104 Classy Facebook page; 105 extra designer jeans. Come on people get with the program. You can list better than this.

          • I took a minute to read your list. Thank you. My wife and I are not really preppers in the true sense but we do live in the country and work our land. I was amazed that we are well stocked with almost everything on your rather long list.Maybe being a prepper is nothing more than living more like your grandparents. Thanks

            • Hi Skeptic

That’s pretty much the way I see it. My grandparents taught me a lot about prepping. They went through the great depression and WWII and knew how to make things stretch and eat on little money.

All my life growing up, my grandparents had a closed off, locked up room and locker down in their basement. We were taught never to mess with it. Never understood why but just did was we were told.

Years later when my grandma passed to join my grandpa, we went down to the basement and busted the lock off. To my surprise we found hundreds of canned food, lanterns, oil, radios, flashlights with batteries in a makeshift faraday cage, blankets, and much more. In the locker we found grandpa’s guns.

          • We bought kerosene cooking stoves from St Paul Mercantile. You can buy kerosene at the pump at some farm supply stores. Here in NE Wisconsin it’s about $4.50 a gallon last time I checked. It’s more expensive than gasoline but much safer to work with.

            • everything in 3’s

have back ups for your back ups

                • Depending on where you live – 3 hours without shelter.

          • Once again great information.

          • Great list!

As an added criteria when services are disrupted – no water to flush the toilet for a day or ten – what then?
As Americans, we’ve never had to think about this.
The first cause of disease, that can lead to serious illness, even death believe it or not; especially for those is urban areas.
If you have the luxury of a yard, without giving instructions on how to make an out door facility, it will be critical in keeping hygiene to a maximum.
Hang on to those phone books that still gets left at your door – they make great toilet paper for outhouses.

For consideration – Kerosene stoves and fuel are safe and burn clean and fuel is easy to store, same for lamps that burn oil. A second hand 55 gallon drum would set you back about $10.

NB: My husband would sometimes put helicopter fuel in our diesel car (supposedly similar to kerosene) Not sure if you can use in stoves, can anyone comment on that aspect.

As someone who has lived in third world countries and understands – oops lights out not sure when it’ll be back and dry faucet, you want to become as self reliant as you possibly can. Good luck with your preparations, because it’s not a matter of ‘IF’ but ‘WHEN’
The tests are getting numerous and more blatant with each day as the powers to be get desperate to cover up their theft

Boston – Beta test for Martial Law
Sandy Hook – Beta test for gun confiscation
Ferguson – Beta test to continue to create a wedge between blacks & whites; but THE PEOPLE both B&W stood up against the militarized police and all their supposedly extra – left over MRAPS etc from Iraq.
Make no mistake – these were not EXTRAS, they were intentionally purchased for this purpose.
As intentional as the thousands of UN vehicles on US soil. Google UN vehicles on US soil.
UN Charter states – Peacekeeping – we’re not in a war zone or have border conflict, ex Palestine/Israel.
The UN was set up by the foundations funded by the same people that own the 143 corporations that control the economy and world and well on their way to controlling the people. BUT THE PEOPLE HAVE STARTED PUSHING BACK AND THEY ARE GETTING DESPERATE IN THEIR EFFORTS TO EXECUTE THEIR PLAN AS THE PEOPLE STAND UP.
There’s a handful of them and millions of us!!!

            • Expat… get a plastic 55 gal drum and run the downspout of your roof into it… near the top, on a side, cut a hole in it big enough to run a drain out of so that when the drum is near full the new rain will have a place to flow out of. And make sure you get a lid for it… mosquito’s. Also, when you want flushable water you can just dip it out but under the lid is a little spider heaven. I’m in Ohio and here it’s Black Widow spider territory. Not hard to deal with when you know it’s gonna be a problem. Dedicated gloves is what I used.

As per fuel… I used to work as a mechanic at an airport and we had old fuel trucks for gassing the planes that constantly needed worked on… consequently we had a lot of “jet fuel” that was considered “contaminated” and unsafe for use. We sold it back then for $5 a 55 gal drum and people used it in kerosene heaters all over. It just burns a little cleaner and a little hotter.

Propane is great… I used it on an old RV stove I brought into my kitchen and ran a hose through the wall so I could have a stove and an oven. But propane is relatively expensive compared to wood and kerosene and sunlight. So it is actually a luxury… and when TSHTF luxury’s go first. Cooking on a woodstove is a reality. Cooking with a microwave for 2 minutes requires less gas in the gen than cooking on a propane stove for the same meal. Always wanted to try one of these gasifiers… here’s a video. Makes fuel to run an engine out of burning wood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwODwwlvTHM

              • JohnR, thanks for the info on fuel. You’ll notice I didn’t say “Jet Fuel”as I wasn’t sure if the same fuel was used in jets as in helicopters.
Anyway, it’s just another source for people to consider.

As for the plastic drum on the roof – grew up with a little different easier concept – A tank, probably 500 gals raised about 12′ on a platform, so water flowed down to the house when needed. The barrels (metal,no plastic available when & where I was) were covered with muslin to keep out mosquitoes and was used for garden, animals and washing – yes in a tub with a wash board, a rude awakening for some.
These are some of the hard realities that will have to be endured and there are those for whom it’s far fetched.
The first thing to go in an economic collapse are services like electricity, water, gas; not to mention shortages of necessities due to curtailed supply chain.
“Just in time” will be a fleeting memory.
I’m lucky my food comes from 5-15 at the most miles away, all fresh, non-GMO & organic, grows all year, enough fresh water to supply my city for 300 years and little to no heat needed in the homes. For this I had to give up all the luxuries and go back to basics.
To survive this calamity people will need to start learning how their grand parents or great grand parents lived. Or ask the people of Bosnia, Argentina and of course Zimbabwe how they live day to day, then multiply it by 10. Good luck all.

          • I did 3 years off grid in Ohio. The above list is pretty good but I didn’t see a microwave stove in there… if you’ve got a generator, it only takes 2 minutes of running it to have boiling water or hot food. Another is a coffee press… nothing quite like quick, good coffee. I stocked up on rechargeable batteries and battery chargers. I ran my gen about 20 minutes a day to recharge the water system in the house (well pump) and during those 20 minutes I also charged batteries as well… and quite a few of them, all sizes. The limit is based on the size of the gen and how many battery chargers you can plug into it at the same time. Also, a couple of auto battery chargers (non-computer style) charging a couple of batteries (preferably truck or boat but car will do) helps too especially if you can get some of the new 12volt led light bulbs. In the winter I did the woodstove thing… get a log splitter. A stack of, oh around 8″ to 10″ rocks. Put the rocks on the stove so they heat up, at night wrap them in towels and throw them in the bed with you… they’ll hold heat for hours and hours. I also had the $199 Harbor Freight solar panel set and in Ohio… it would charge up my laptop (great for watching movies in the DVD player)(I used battery operated external speakers) and my cell phone… which I also used as my internet gateway. And just one more thing I can think of right off the bat… bug killer! You most definitely want some kind of bug killer… and handi wipes. When you can’t get to a shower, you can use handi wipes. And another.. a garden hose, filled with water and laying in the sun will give you hot water… the longer the hose, the more water. I snaked about 100′ of it on the roof in loops and it was enough to give me a real quicky warm shower, while the suns up.

        • They say when you’re born into this world, you’re born into the Freak Show. When you’re born in America, you’re given a Front Row Seat.

Anyways, I hope it’s a warm winter. God Bless.

          • It wasn’t they my friend, it was Carlin! And he was right…..we got a front row seat! So buckle up, and enjoy this shiz!

            • Posted this before, seemed appropiate…

              George Carlin (Absolutely Brilliant)

              George Carlin’s Views on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we’re kids? If you’re less than 10 years old, you’re so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

“How old are you?” “I’m four and a half!” You’re never thirty-six and a half. You’re four and a half, going on five! That’s the key

You get into your teens, now they can’t hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

“How old are you?” “I’m going to be 16!” You could be 13, but hey, you’re going to be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . . you become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony. YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There’s no fun now, you’re Just a sour-dumpling. What’s wrong? What’s changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you’re PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it’s all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50
              and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn’t think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You’ve built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it’s a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80’s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime and it doesn’t end there. Into the 90’s, you start going backwards; “I Was JUST 92.”

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. “I’m 100 and a half!” May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

              HOW TO STAY YOUNG
              1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them that is why you pay “them.”

              2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

              3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.” And the devil’s name is Alzheimer’s.

              4. Enjoy the simple things.

              5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

              6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

              7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it’s family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, and hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

              8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

              9. Don’t take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10.Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

              AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

              • @eppe:

You’ve got to be a great person to be around!!!

          • Hey Iowa. Have you ever traveled out of the State of Iowa? Its not like that everywhere.. haha Just kidding.. lol If you really want to see a freak show, go do a ride along on an City Ambulance Service in a large populated community.

Most every city is like this. You will really see an eye opener for sure. Do this ride along on a night with a Full Moon. You will never forget the memories. Most people in communities are so insulated from the reality all around them, and scum and low lifes’ in every city in America, Meth Labs, to overdoses, shootings, stabbings, killings, beatings, fires, rapes, child abuse, suicides, etc.. And that is besides the normal car accidents, heart attacks, falls, child birth, and sickness etc..

        • Serious crime goes on and on, but no one goes to jail.
Then theres a kid out there who got busted for waving a plastic penis out the car window. Probably be a felony and hell be put on some sex offender list for the rest of his life.
Looks to me like that kid was saying we are phucked, too. Maybe thats what all adults should be doing. Would they get the message.
          (story at drudge)

          • Actually, saw that story,a bit juvenile but seems only a disorderly charge,am sure some sort of free speech case can be made, just not sure what it would be excepting letting everyone know your an idiot!

            • Would be interesting to see who bought the apparstus to begin with and what they were intending to use it for.

Must have been some adults? in the car. Ya, we are phucked. No end to what our kids are allowed to do all in the name of fun. Brain dead parents = brain dead kids = brain dead America.

          • that aint shit compared to what we used to do for fun as kids when this was a Republic America

          • Calgagus, that is only permitted in San Fransicko! Homosexual and Lesbian pride marches, hanging from meat hooks, vandalising churches, along with the naturalist rights movement (FULL NUDITY), are never prosecuted in that enlightened metropolis…

        • The Writer Karl Says: Take the scam out of education and the cost collapses.

Well I say Take the scam out of Food such as EBT Food Stamps program and food prices will be cut in half with in months. Food Stamps help Prop up this Bogus Inflation. If you Immediately cut ALL Food Stamp Programs, The Big 7 Food Corporations will be screaming Bloody Murder if you cut off their Federal Subsidized Phony EBT Food Stamp Program. Just follow the Money Folks.. Half the People on the EBT program are parasites.

          • Maybe so. Whodunit, but MOST of the people at the top, wno have a big income– are parasites!!! that’s what I’ve observed, anyhow, in my own little sphere of friends, acquaintances, and co-workers: the ONLY ones doing well (almost without exception) are the psychopaths, who steal even from their own mother!

        • He’s right– things have gotten worse for me and mine! We are barely able to keep our heads above the water…

Mike Ruppert said all we are doing is going up one deck higher on the Titanic… except, of course, those at the top, who are getting richer.

I’ve noticed, in my own little sphere, that the crooks (those who steal from others and/or are engaged in illegal activities) have done quite well for themselves the last few years– stealing and lieing as they go. But those of us who are not so materialistic– who do not steal and lie, who strive to do the right thing– we are barely surviving!!

        • One other thing I’d like to mention… there’s a ton of old RV’s out there and in them they have a lot of items that can be used for living off grid… like… a refrigerator that works off either 110v elec., 12v elec., and propane! They also have 12v light fixtures in them, propane mini furnaces, 12 v fans and many still have the old Onan Generators in them which are great and dependable and rebuild-able generators. And, let’s not forget the propane mini stove/ovens. They usually also have 12v to 110v inverters in them, but the new ones use so much less electricity to convert the 12 to the 110 that it’s better to just get one of the newer ones.

The fridge’s are repairable IF (notice the big IF) the ammonia parts are still good. Otherwise they cost too much to fix. A quick test is to open the door and smell… if you smell ammonia then you don’t want it.

And it’s hard to beat bleach for a cheap cleanser /disinfectant.

In wells, I used to pour about a third of a bottle (gal) into the well every month or so to kill the bacteria in the water (if your well smells bad, then it needs disinfecting). Don’t drink the water afterwards for a couple of days and don’t over bleach. I once took the advice of a County employee who said to put 2 1/2 bottles (gal.) in the well to disinfect… showers were brutal for a week and my pubic hair got so brittle they almost broke! If you need drinking water immediately, fill a pitcher or a pan and leave it sit out for at least a couple of hours… the bleach will dissipate off. When you can’t smell it then it’s safe to try it… but taste it first and if it tastes like bleach leave it sit longer until it doesn’t. Swimming pool strength is swallow-able… remember swimming pools and the smell and taste?

          • JohnR

You have good advice and basic skills that people need to tuck away in a notebook.
I fear that as Americans who have grown up in the late 20th & early 21st century, it’s unfathomable to not have electricity – which means – no lights, fridge, electronics, water in some cases – electric pumps and more.
We need to start thinking early 20th century lifestyle and prepare in that mode.
I can’t begin to tell you how many people I talk to who thinks when/if SHTF that they can still go to Starbucks every morning because – “IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN HERE”
Wake up people – it is happening here!!!

      2. Too many fighting for a smaller and smaller piece of pie.

It’s a real brain twister for me. But I am trying to think what it would be like growing my own food, collecting my own water, and using my own power grid. It’s not an easy paradigm shift.

        • Sierra Dave, the ‘gimme dat’ crowd already starting to receive smaller slices of that govt. program pie, with all of the foreigners being allowed into this nation and they go to get their slices. It’s only a matter of time before someone snaps somewhere and the balloon goes up.

        • Dave, why you prep and try those items now, realize some folks in areas where doesn’t work to well. That said, even with a apt. balcony can do say a vertical pvc hydo garden, have a bathtub water bladder, things that may give you a little breathing room and time to deal with whatever nasty comes our way.

          • One of my strategems is to upscale my living situation. If we have what I consider a complete collapse. I am moving into a better, more sustainable, better defendable, bank owned property. If the banks are gone. No one can claim ownership.

I am debating though. Do I wait for a population die off or move as soon as it happens. If 90% are to die off. And the majority of that will be in the first month or so. My targets might get trashed or torched.

      3. I am going to let it go on till it ends. You know why?

Cause you can tell people a lot of things, but you can’t tell them nothing.

        • People know nothing. I have quit talking about it. Even the Church I go to is clueless. I have missed many Sundays and probably will miss even more….

          • God needs your prayers, He truly does. By our giving our free will to God and His Divine Son each and every morning or day, and through prayer, God can halt evil in its tracks.

Because God respects the free will He gave to each and everyone of us, He needs us to pray.

Please consider returning to Church on Sunday. Maybe your fellow Congregants have too much on their plates to give a good ear to what you have to share.

The evil one wants you to despair, he wants you to stop attending Church, to stop having and expressing your faith!

            Don’t let the devil win.

All the devil’s power is but a speck of dust on the shoulders of God the Father. It is God the Father whom you can trust along with His Divine Son.

Pray also to the Holy Spirit to give you the strength of spirit to attend services and to enlighten all those you know.

            Our Father
            Who Art in Heaven
            Hallowed be Thy Name
            Thy Kingdom come
            Thy Will be done
            On earth
            As it is in Heaven.
            Give us this day
            Our daily bread,
            And forgive us our trespasses
            As we forgive those
            Who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil, Amen.

            • Prayer is important.
God cannot do anything on planet earth unless we pray and ask.
One of the pitfalls of the fall in the garden.

            • No, God does not need our prayers in order for God to do his own will. That’s ridiculous.

The Lord’s Prayer is a model on how to pray. You can pray using the ACTS model of adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication.

Reciting the Lord’s Prayer is a meaningless exercise.

God is turning the world over to Satan more and more as time goes on. The world will be entering the Great Tribulation in the coming years.

God is about to destroy America because the people are wicked. America has the blood of 55 million unborn babies on its hands. America is becoming more and more hostile to God, Christians, and Christianity. I get livid when I see people post “God Bless America” on Facebook.

            • I pray at home, just as easily as I pray in church. The church does not complete my link to God — I do. I’ve always preferred a more ‘direct’ approach.

          • You should check out some of Chuck Baldwins videos…I agree with you about my church as well

            • Many of the churches are witchcraft clubs where they incant a Bible verse against every curse but never perform God’s Will on Earth. If you ask me, Christians will be getting the butt whooping before anyone else. For calling out upon God but not taking action to bring about his Will on Earth.

          • Ugly:

I’ve read your posts and know your concern about the country we love.

No one needs to tell you what a farce most churches are today. That preacher/teacher is either clueless or complicit; however he knows that most of his congregation wants a soft approach coming from the pulpit. Jesus says people like to have their ears tickled.

A couple years ago on a blog someone left a message that there was truth at biblestudysite dot com. That is the best gift, other than the Bible I have ever received.

Give it a look, Ugly. You might just find some answers to questions that your preacher/teacher is never going to tell you.

            • Theology isn’t Jesus. Theology is our current “church”. I quit going years ago. It was a poor excuse for what Jesus has to say. The petty infighting and lack of grace was beyond my ability to deal with. I am a messy Christian that’s for sure. Gods Grace is all I have going for me.

            • If your church is a 501 3c…it is not a real church.

              • Lastmanstanding, that’s “501c3 whorehouse” in my view. They’re just as bogus as the day is long.

            • Granny, I have to agree about the churches. I grew up in the Southern Baptist church so I can speak with some authority on this subject. I first started seeing these things in church as a teenager back in the 70s so I dropped out of church before finishing high school. Never stepped into another church since then. I call them “501c3 whorehouses”.

              • Baptist? Well, there you go. Find a good historic church. One that uses a liturgy….Orthodox, Reformed Anglican (think C.S. Lewis), Lutheran, etc…I almost want to stab myself in the eye when my ‘baptist’ friends talk ‘Jesus’. They cheapen it and dumb it down just like the public school system. Honestly, I. couldn’t. take. it. anymore. So, we left. It is hilarious when an old friend visits us at our ‘new’ church (REC) because, GASP!, we KNEEL, like the Catholics!!! Shudder the thought of kneeling to pray! How….could we? Like we fell from grace or something. No, we were just tired of the whole way it was ‘done’ with little if any real meaning or understanding. Also, SICK of having our kids told to go to a different church than mom or dad. GOOD GRIEF!!! Like the high schoolers or ‘mommies’ teaching ‘Sunday School’ have some theology degree and are better suited to teaching our children.

                Nope. Done with that.

They need to watered down drivel to get through their feminized service, complete with emotionally drivin’ ‘worship band’ music. God forgive me, but they are so lost!

Yeah. This is a HAUTE button for me. I never knew true worship and peace as I have in the last few years in a church that uses a real liturgy and The Book of Common Prayer throughout the service, a service that really speaks to the fact that our God is no commoner. I love His mystery. I never thought I would understand this whole, not understanding.

Not to lecture you on church, I just got caught up in my own frustrating memories. I would have ended up leaving had God not brought me to where we are today.

          • ugly
The Church is just another building
You don’t have to go to a building to worship your faith or religion
Anywhere you are is good enough for The Lord

            • YES…

And knowing where the horizon is by where the stars stop is a pretty good indicator that God exists…
By his grace you are literally on top of the world.

            • You won’t grow spiritually if you don’t go to church. The Bible makes it very clear that you should be part of a body of believers.

(Hebrews 10:25 NIV) Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

              • and for 9.95 you too can be SAVED! just leave your repentance in the basket as it is passed around, your blessings will be more if you give more!
                BULLSHIT

                • …and don’t forget…that if you say this prayer for salvation …you are guaranteed to be saved…to quote a familiar dickhead…horseshit!

              • Isn’t it ironic how people claim their God is so powerful to be, but he really need for you to give all your money to him cause he can’t make his own money. He can move heaven and earth, Turn water into wine, flood the planet, but comes short when he needs money. Lots and Lots of Money, And its your Money he needs, cause he can’t make his own money for some Godly reason. Do you Religious idiots ever ponder that you are being Fleeced? Not only from your Money but from your dignity as well?

                • Not do, WWTI:

It aint God standing in those opulent buildings begging for your last dime. He doesn’t need one red cent to perform miracles, not one.

As far as the ungodly preacher/teachers, he has a special place for them. Hint: It is very, very hot there. Actually their soul will be blotted out FOREVER.

WWTI, it is your choice to believe God is involved with those leeches, in that ‘babbble’ you speak about Jesus realized what a MESS greedy, misled preachers would be, and believe it or not he tells us to not have anything to do with their ilk.

We are NOT to sit in that church, not for one minute!

                  • Whoops….Not so WTTI:

              • Barncat, your point about being with a group of believers is valid, but make sure they’re the RIGHT KIND of believers first. 501c3 ministries preach a false version of the Bible.

                • That’s ridiculous. You can’t tar everyone with the same brush.

                  • If your butt is sitting in a 501C3 church I would like to suggest you sharpen your ears to what the message from your preacher/teacher is; and check if your Bible is a King James version.

Who are those false teacher/preachers that Jesus talks about, Barncat?

                    Or they just…not here yet?

            • Amen…We live in the mountains of our creator.

              That is our church.

            • For me, the most freeing moment in my life was when having a discussion about spirituality and religion and to not fall into the trap of confusing the two, I was told by a friend that you can have a God of your understanding,,,
and that the fact that you believe in a power greater than yourself as a guide may be all that you need, that God, and spiritual principals or spiritual beliefs are a very personal thing and needs not be validated by anyone other than yourself,
THAT was a defining moment in my life,
the burden that was lifted from my shoulders, the guilt that had been preached to me gone, the realization that I had a relationship with God all along and that the only one who went away was me, I keep that conscious contact in my daily life and all is well.

            • The church is all of Christianity all through history.

          • Ugly: I filled in for my Sunday school teacher for two Sunday’s. My topic was; Is it wrong for Christians to prepare for bad times. I can say how surprised I was for the attention and questions; we talked about what to store, how much, oven canning, dehydration, water etc. Now my pastor wants me to talk about it on some Sunday Nights and I will. People are starting to wake up big time in my area.

River Rat at the ready!!! NOMI///MOLON LABE!!
            TSORIITA/GPTDY!!

            • @River Rat:

              GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!

            • Run with it River Rat..get the word out

        • slingshot,

When it hits the fan, all you can hope to be is the “Grey Man”. Someone so remarkably unassuming and invisible that people may look at you but will not see you. Blend into the crowd and wait for the chaos to blow over. Better yet, avoid crowds all together.

          • YH

            Exactly! Blend In. Avoid crowds.

            • Kind of sounds cowardly to always be the Gray Man. Never taking a stand, never voicing an opinion, just cowardly sitting or hiding in the crowd for safety. Keeping silent and unknown.

Well that is how America has diminished to the point of where we are today. We need leaders in every community who will stand up take the bullet, take the arrows in the back. Do you think the Founding Fathers of this great country earned our freedom by being the gray man? Sounds like slavery to me. We need leaders more today than ever before, standing up for our rights, fighting back, doing what is right, calling out the public thieves and tyrants, and demanding justice. The Blacks in Ferguson have more guts standing up in protest than any gray man. Not including the rioters cause they are thieves and thugs, but regular people standing up for an injustice they believe in. I have more respect for someone standing up to protect their rights, than hiding like a gray man coward waiting for someone else to carry the torch.

Wake up people, do every thing you can in your own community, to go to all City and County council meetings and see for yourself how they steal your rights and property rights one by one on a daily basis. If you get a response when you write a letter to your government, then write 10,000 letters. Everyone needs to Organize your neighborhood in a Home owners associations 501(c)3 non profit. You have more power to get your concerns and disputes addressed to your local government as an organized force. Gray Man my ass!! Live Free or Die!! And as Ben Franklin was quoted during the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th 1776 – “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”

              • WhoWuddaThunkIt,

Let me simplify it. What you refer to as “Grey Man” cowardice, is actually intended to be camouflage that allow an to survive a first contact with a mob. I think most people picked up on that inference.

                >>”Kind of sounds cowardly to always be the Gray Man.”<<

That depends on your situation and how prepared you are to handle an attacking mob. When faced with an angry mob alone, my objective is not to sacrifice myself in the first wave trying to boldly singlehandedly stop the attacking mob with my Colt .45. That is stupid by any comparison. When faced with a mob you have two choices, stand your ground and die, or withdraw, save your weapons, ammunition, and resources until such time an effective resistance can be formed to counter the mob.

I'm old enough not to care about being called a coward. You don't me or anything about me. I've taken enough self-defense and firearm training courses to put an actionable plan together to mitigate threats like mobs.

In Ferguson no individuals stood for long against the angry looting mobs. The only defenders against the mob that I recall were armed groups of merchants that banded together. We saw the same thing in post hurricane Katrina.

Bravado is great, on paper. In real life, he who survives first contact, fights the longest. I don't care how you fight, as long as you have a intelligent plan.

                • yep, be smart enough to live..to fight another day

dying aint much of a living son

              • WhoWuddaThunkIt,

                ….

              • “Everyone needs to Organize your neighborhood in a Home owners associations 501(c)3 non profit.”

HOA’s, or the self-appointed citizen police, as they are now SHOULD BE BANNED! I don’t need no freak from down the block telling me I can’t have a clothes line or tomato plants instead of a flower bed. What I do on my property is nunya business. I’ll park my truck on my grass if I feel like it.

People get stupid with a little power, especially when they think they might lose a few bucks off of their property value, because I choose to grow a patch of corn in my back yard, or I want a tool shed.

          • YH,will see too much evil for me to walk on by and let it happen, and realize I will pay a big price for acting out against evil doers. As I have said too many times have no one counting on me personally in regard to wife/kids ect. and thus will do my best to help others family members when I see evil happening.I by the way have and will act on this today if necc.,that said,am grateful have not yet come across evil of that nature personally.

            • Warchild Dammit!

No argument from me on that. Years ago I came to the simple understanding that I could not save the world from itself. So I don’t try.

If global self destruction is unavoidable, if it is somehow baked into the global (and human) DNA, then it was all I could do to understand the process, understand the cycle, and prepare for it.

Each of us has to decide for ourselves when it’s time to fight. Most times we get to pick our battles, sometimes not. I believe forces are marshalling as we speak to bring on an epic battle all of us may be forced to fight. We will see how that unfolds.

I’ve learned one thing over the years Warchild, always employ force multipliers in a fight. You may find yourself in the fight, standing alone in defiance, and you’ll need all the multipliers you can muster.

              • I may be by myself, but I’m never alone.

      4. ” For how long as you going to allow all of the above to continue?”

Perhaps many here are tired of this absurdity, but most American’s are still completely asleep at the wheel. They have been neutered, or they are afraid to lose all of their chyttt if they ended up jumping off this sinking ship…..

        • In that case, I’ll take what floats and leave the rest for Davy Jones.

      5. I’m waiting for the deflation of all prices to kick into reality so approaching old age will be affordable to myself and those with minimal incomes. It can’t keep getting more expensive to exist.

        • Prices can’t go down while the Federal Reserve creates tens of billions of new dollars every month.

      6. It is time to defund the universities. Overpriced, narrow-minded, useless crap.

      7. For the record I’m not allowing all of this to continue. Just show me the panel that says “break glass in case of emergency” and I’ll put a stop to it. Until then I’m stacking metal. Platinum Silver Lead etc…

        • Chucky Beston.

I also made reference to break the glass and set me free a long while back. Some here thought I was too aggressive, but times change.

Should my glass be shattered I do not want to be held back by others because of their wimpy fears. I do not want to have around me, those that will “second guess” in a crisis. I don’t want to be betrayed.
Make your plans and then follow through.

          • I think that’s the main change this year. The unemployed in Ferguson have made that decision. I’m thinking of running of for office here under the campaign slogan “Vote for me, I can’t be any worse!”

            • or “vote for me, so you don’t have to vote for them…”

          • @slingshot it seems like the event horizon is smacking everyone on the head with a 2 by 4. The time for a determined cerebral approach to the country’s problems is almost drawing to a close. I hear you man. Lone wolf chucky is how I’m rolling.

      8. …or will you demand that it stop and that those committing these acts face the same charges and penalties that you or I would for the same offenses?

How? How can I demand? Unless there is a critical mass of action, the descent will continue until a catastrophic failure.

      9. well, i’m re-learning to be a hard core criminal and updating my skillsets from my wayward youth.

when there is no longer rule of law, only might is right.

pred or prey? the choice is yours.

      10. The End isn’t near. It is already here….

        • …and a day is coming that will make it perfectly clear.

      11. I feel like a broken record but keep prepping. Oh and to anyone who cares, I just started modifying my ar15. Personally I prefer my 30-30 but I guess that is weird for an 18 year old. Oh well I’ll keep my stuff and keep prepping.

        • Johnny ,
do not get rid of that 30-30 it will function long after the AR has given up the ghost .
Ballistically it is equal to 7.62×39 , use the new soft tipped rounds ( hornaday) made for tube magazine loading it greatly improves accuracy. There is not a lot to go wrong with a Winchester 98 or Marlin 336. Ideal close quarter brush gun in the right hands .(use a lyman rear peep site ) And no magazines to loose. ( it’s the cats ass in 45-70! There was a SOG guy in Nam that used one for bunker shooting in 444 marlin google , Mad Dog Shriver)
Match that up with a S&W model 27 in 357 and you are good for low profile back country survival.

There is a lot to be said for old school for long duration use .

          RESIST

          Semper Fi 8541

          • What is a “brush gun” I’ve heard that term before and it was in reference to my 30-30.

            • Anon, RE:Brush Gun. 30-30. What it means is a 30-30 is not necessarily meant to be a long range gun, and the 30-30 rifle works well in the short range shooting, and punching through the Brush to the target. When I Deer Hunted up in Wisconsin, we did a lot of team driving through the swamps. trying to kick deer out to those people standing on point on the edges. I loved to get right into the swamp water up to my knees, with hip boots on, breaking ice, fighting the thickets in the bogs, collecting burrs, cause I know that is where the deer are all hiding. And yes I carried a 30-30 and shot some nice deer less than 15 yards away in the Brush of the swamp and marshes. I have a lot of fond memories deer hunting with my father. I was pretty good at stalking through the woods barely making any sound and would jump deer all the time. And my 30-30 Brush Rifle rewarded me many times.

            • Can be the actual model name of a rifle but usually a gun folks would use in brush/woods to hunt deer ect.,usually close range shots (say 150 max yards roughly)instead of saying long range elk/mountain goat,a rifle that is not too heavy or long to carry in said conditions all day while hunting if necc.,that is what brush gun means to me anyhow. In the end I guess it means any gun someone would use in woods they are comfortable with for hunting.

          • Johnny, nothing wrong with the 30-30,tis a rifle that has stood and worked well the test of time, that said,AR platforms are a nice rifle also.

        • I killed a lot of Deer with a 30-30. Soft tips. lol

      12. I’m with the author absent the section 8 no longer needed if housing prices go down. The obvious outcome would be the opposite. Housing drives a large part of the economy and the fact housing is gamed doesn’t support the arguement. Section 8 participants pay a none or a small percentage of the rent. Two things would happen. The entire economy would be gone and section 8 needed or not would be gone. (We could only dream). The section 8 clients would not be able to pay any amount of rent in any type of economy regardless of the form of payment. If chicken shit was money, the section 8 fucks couldn’t scrape a spoonful off their shoes.

        • Why is our focus, culture, and booming housing rental economy based on how much chickenshit($)…

          Sec8 = a child, a senior, a cripple, a crazy, or a retard
~ those worthless people ~ can scrape off their shoes
(hard labor like overcharging others for a bandaid)
          in the first place?

How are all the ablebodied mentally sane “sucessful” adults in their physical prime going to continue collecting tribute from their taxbase of whoever survives “shtf”

without the “useless eaters” just ruining our “thriving profit economy” of high rent, high food, high medical, high taxes, high tuitions, etc. see article above … your “taxmoney” enriches corporations and profit cults

NOT ~those people~ who will die the first and fastest in “shtf” of any type.

        • They’d have to get jobs. On my!

          • Perhaps, and perhaps we will have a country were one isn’t punished for creating jobs by too many rules/regulations and outright theft.Perhaps we can have a environment where the person with a good idea and some work can create a business and be rewarded on many levels with the satisfaction of gaining a living thru work and perhaps hiring others and giving them the satisfaction of a job well done and the rewards of job well done.

          • I say take every body off all subsidies including corporate welfare for 2 months, and those really needy need to re-prove their case and reapply for assistance. Any MO-FO who can walk into a welfare office, does not need assistance period. Create worker programs, where when you put in a days work you get a days food ticket. No Worky-No Foody.. Earn it as you go. Anybody have a problem with that?

This multi-decade of just giving away free shit for nothing needs to end. Stop Rewarding Failure!!!

            • Agree. If you can walk, you can work.

      13. It’s almost surreal how we are where we are, today, right now. 20 years ago if I had a premonition that this was our future, I would have laughed it off as a bad, freakish dream.

        But here we are.

Every day becomes yet a new chapter in the freak show we call the world. Where does it all end? I’m not sure, but of this I’m very sure. This is going to end very, very badly for millions of people. And I’m a positive outlook kind of person!

        • I agree. And we have no Leaders. Therefore,

          Vote for Doofus….

          • Casting votes no longer matters….those who COUNT the votes decide all….
WE have been there and have seen it…and it will happen again in November. Question is….what, if anything, will MOST do about it??

        • 20 years ago, people were told this was coming, and they laughed it off, and now, it payday…

          • Hell many are still laughing it off , way too many

      14. I’m not worried, I’m peppared. I have a specialized suit to wear, multi colored face paint, wig, floppy shoes, and a big red nose to wear. Yes ladies and gents, I will be dressed as a clown. Its a scientific fact that when tshtf and cannibalism is running rampant that cannibals won’t eat clowns….they taste funny. But if worse comes to worse, and you do become a cannibal, don’t show up late to dinner…. You will get the cold shoulder.

        • Clowns are scary…

          • “Everything floats down here”…..
            -Pennywise.

          • You dress up like a clown you will be shot, being mistaken for a congressman.

      15. Please don’t vote. All you are doing is feeding a monster in that you are justifying the system as it exists. It’s like feeding welfare babies, you just create ewven more of them. Slash repace welfare babies with politicians. I hope that make sense. If you participate then you legitimize the system that has failed you.

What is the answer? I don’t know but I do know that he who participates in an action is legitimizing that action. It has not worked for many years what makes anyone think that voting will help out now?

I do know this, failure by the populace to vote de-legitimizes the results. If a majority of the people do not vote then there is something wrong with the system and makes any decision decided by a vote of less than 50% of the people null and void.

        BigB

        • Again…

“It is enough to say there was an election. Those who cast the ballots decide nothing. Those who count the ballots decide everything.” – Joseph Stalin

          • vote in LOCAL elections.

you want to stop a scumbag in their tracks? be among the five or so deciding votes in a close school board election that 99% of the town doesn’t even know is going on.

        • Everybody needs to Vote. Just ask Eric Canter who ejected and got beat in the GOP Primary. Also the Only Joo on the GOP side in the congress. I switched parties just so I can vote in the oppositions primaries, to vote out the worst of the worst of the oppositions embedded incumbents. It made a difference there. The people in Power don’t want anybody to vote. You are playing into their scam. By suppressing the vote. You need take 10 people to the polls and vote early and often.

        • I appreciate what you think but I am still on the fence. I mean, does it really hurt? If it is all fixed, how does it really hurt? Honest question here. I realize, to some degree, it seems like ‘if all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail’ but at least it’s something.

Honestly, I think the real way to kill the beast is starve it. Literally, refuse to pay taxes and starve it. Of coarse, most people are too scared to do that. But if those of us who work refuse to give one more penny, then the numbers alone will make it difficult to stop the tide.

      16. BINGO! We Have A Winner!

Let’s not forget that violence is the supreme authority from which all other authorities derived.

What got more national attention? The peaceful and meaningless protests or the riots and looting?

The US is a powder keg right now, all those in the know can see it coming like a freight train. The masses are to fat and lazy to do anything. Our kids would just as soon turn us in for a meal rather than try to grow one themselves.

Let it burn. From the ashes of the phoenix will rise the makers. The takers are just fertilizer a this point.

      17. Until a real leader speaks up and lead the charge, everyone will just flap their lips and run around with their hands at the crotch!

      18. I am a free man. I have had enough of the liberal pukes poisoning my country, my life, my family. Its time to end this bullshit

        • You go fix it then.

        • Sarkin Smith and Wesson will kill that Barn Cat.

      19. Insofar as the FAFSA is concerned, you are correct that it requires disclosure of your parent’s assets. However, this requirement does go away once you turn 25. The cost of college today is truly obscene. I’m an adult returning to finish a degree I started way too long ago and for the one class I needed to complete my general education requirements it cost me $500 ! That’s for a basic, 3 credit hour course that essentially teaches you to use MS Office. I’m terrified of what it will cost me when I transfer to the state university system. I do qualify for grants($1500/yr, if memory serves), but at these prices they won’t go nearly far enough. Worse still, I found out that if you take out student loans you have six months after graduation before you are required to start paying. However, if you start paying before that, while still in school, you forfeit the deferment. So the only real choice you have is to let the interest accrue while seeking your degree. Think you can just save the money in the bank and pay off a big lump sum when you get past that six month mark? Think again. If you put any real money away then you lose your grants the next time you do the FAFSA (due once a year). So, you are discouraged from working while in school and essentially a debt slave when you get out. My sister is significantly younger than me and is finishing her degree right now. Her student loan debt is larger than my mortgage. I hope to avoid that fate, but it will still put me in $10-20k worth of debt by the time I am done if I defer 100% of the cost. Fortunately though, the engineering degree I am seeking will pay that off fairly quickly since I am used to living on little and using barter and trade to get a lot of things done. Plus, I am very skilled when it comes to fixing and repurposing things that most of society throws away.

        • I think the idea of student loans is to in-debt the loanee in such a way that they will forever be a debt slave to the government. It’s another way for government to exercise power and control over you.

With a private loan you could file bankruptcy, not so with a government loan. They have given it the same protection from bankruptcy as they have a tax debt.

          • End govt. loans and the costs will drop dramatically, that along with the net and education is and will change quickly. My parents both went to school, small part time gigs covered it and there was still time to also have a social life.

        • Today a college degree is worth less than a high school diploma was in the 1960,s. College degrees are a common as tree leaves. There are not enough jobs. You would be prudent to spend that college money on preps. The promised pot of gold at the end of the education rainbow is a big lie.

          • Maybe, but I want to live too. For me, living every day like it’s the end of the world is like a living death. I still have hopes and dreams and one of them has always been to study engineering. Even if it in debts me for the rest of my life I will enjoy the learning process. As it is now, I work in food service and have one of the last full time jobs left in my field. Corporate policy is that once I leave, I will be replaced with two part time workers. All of the other companies of my kind have already eliminated all of the full time positions for people doing my kind of work due to Obamacare. Without furthering my education I know that eventually I will be out of options. One good slip up and I am out a job and unable to replace it with another of commensurate income. I am not in bad health, but am old enough that I have back problems and can’t do intense physical labor, so most trades are out of the question. Besides, I am not a good fit with the sort of people who do that kind of work, so my life is miserable and lonely.

            • I know two brothers who where engineers. The worked for a big company in Milwaukee Wis for several decadeds. Their jobs where outsourced to India Via the internet. They are now driving semi truck. Could not find a engineering job anyplace. Its a world wide labor market. Not to dash your dreams but you need to face the facts the whole world is in decline. There are fewer & fewer good jobs every day. Do this pretend you already have that degree. Send out reseumes. See if there are jobs. Those who tout Educatoin Education!!!. Those proponets are in the education business they must constantly recruit students to enable their parasitic lifestyle. So they lie about the good high paying careers you can achieve by paying through the nose for a worthless scrap of paper. get your education in the field of Know How & self reliance. Two buisnesses you can make a go of and start cheaper than what college cost . One is commercial & residental heat & air. And another is Auto upholstery. Neither one requires hard physical labor. You will have plenty of work and set your own wages.

              • Truck driving is my fallback plan. I have a friend who is an owner/operator that I could team up with if need be. However, I think I would rather avoid that fate as I see it as a miserable existence. I’ll do it if I have to, but to me it’s the same as suicide as it will mean that I finally have forfeited my hopes and dreams and am just waiting to be put in a coffin under six feet of earth.

                • I drove truck off & on for 40 years. It paid the bills fed housed & clothed my family. It wasn’t so terrible. I actually enjoyed most of it. When I was in my forties I was a Heavy Hauler I moved the big over weight over with & over length loads and up & down the steep mountain grades. It was a job very few could do. It took skill & a proper mental attitude. Out of the weather in a heated and later years a air cond cab. I pretty much came & went as I wanted as long as my boss made money & the job was done on time. I have a pletoria of stories every trip was a potential adventure. I think Getting stuck in a rut of You must have a certain item or career is self defeating. You in my opinion have a flawed core concept.

      20. I talked to a friend of mine recently, he stated the changes in his neighborhood lately have become apparent and quick. I don’t know if the changes were happening before he got fired from his job, or that now he has more time to observe. but drug dealers across the street, and prostitutes don’t spring up over night in most general areas. it usually takes time for that seed to take root.
he mentioned ‘white flight’ in the conversation, something he was trying to avoid for himself and family, but now he is having doubts about his decision.
he’s a smart fellow, and knows what’s coming with the economy, but still wants to see the best in people…
I think he has finally come around to a new reality, a reality that unfortunately has been dealt to all of us.
you can talk about your vote not making a difference, to the kind of crap talked about in this article, it really is kind of sad. the founding principles that this country was founded upon really no longer exist.
our countryman are weak and simple, our money is baseless, our debt is unpayable.
I think we all need a good swift kick in the ass to wake ourselves out of this terrible slumber that we have been in for over 50 years.
no body losses, we are all winners doesn’t cut it in the real world, life isn’t fair, and to not give our kids this type of information isn’t doing them any favors.
even our food isn’t any good anymore, and our water has floride pumped in to sedate the masses. what is wrong with us.
some mentioned the millions that will die, that’s not even close, you forgot a few zero’s. yes billions will die, and why, well I would say it is because of oil, or the lack their of. our population has exploded to unprecedented territory of the history of this planet. their is no way we could maintain this, even with good leadership, which is as well absent.
here is my prepper tip of the day:
        1. learn how to use old tools.

        • Your point about the cheap oil and its effect on population is a good one.

The hydrocarbon industrial age is but a blip in the history of man…it is soon over and billions will suffer and die.

          • There are enough proven oil reserves to last for centuries.

            • for 1%…wtfu.

            • @Barn Cat…Sure, there is a lot of oil in the ground. But what is the EROEI of that oil?

When it takes one barrel of oil equivalent energy to extract one barrel of oil it will stay in the ground because there will be no net energy increase. In other words the EROEI is 1:1. Some tight oil and bitumen plays are already approaching 1:1 EROEI.

At what price will the oil be affordable to the world economies? We are already seeing near zero growth world wide because the people cannot afford the price of oil. They cut back on discretionary purchases and save their money for utilities, heat and gas to get to work.

When spending on discretionary is cut, real people lose real jobs and they also cut their spending. Then you have what we have now…demand destruction and a downward spiral in the economy.

The Central banks can print all the money they want and keep their rates at zero percent but when there is no net energy return or profit in extracting the oil, it will stay in the ground.

We are closer to that point than you think.

              • These idiot energy companies burn off more gas off their pilot lights in the oil fields than they sell. They need to harness that energy.. We also need to stop all US Energy Companies from exporting our Country’s energy. Selling our energy to other for hefty profits and we get nothing, is Treason.

                • We as a people need to take the energy issue into our own hands, not with taxpayer investments into failing companies but by our selves.Beyond the basics of remembering to shut off unused lights/making homes less drafty ect. there is a lot of home made ways to harness solar/wind/hydro depending on your locale and conditions.Even if one becomes just partially independent from the supply grid is a good thing and saves you money, many sites like builditsolar/mother earth news/low tech magazine sites have projects/plans ideas to curb use and create energy for use.Just because you may not have a area that is easily off gridded every bit helps and makes on a bit more self sufficient, govt. hates that but tough shit!

      21. During the Obama years, sexual assaults in the U.S. military have soared to an all-time high, and most of the assaults have been male on male.

Satanic ‘Black Mass’ Scheduled For Sept 21 In Okla City.
After much wrangling with city officials, and outrage by a million pissed off Baptists, a satanic group has been given the go-ahead to hold a black mass in this city, proudly known as the Buckle On The Bible Belt. Despite protests and lawsuits to stop the Christianity-mocking mass, the city finally relented when the mass’s sponsor group, The American ASSociation Of Satan Worshiping Nitwits, agreed to “absolutely, positively, promise not to invite Barak Obama as keynote speaker.”

Russians Suspected Of Hacking Chase Manhattan Bank.
Officials of several major American banks, including Chase Manhattan Bank, are reporting a large-scale intrusion into the banks’ customer records. Justice Dept spokespersons say they suspect the hack may have been carried out by a Russian government agency. On a positive note- the credit scores of 3 million Americans were apparently improved by the hackers. Workers at Fannie Mae are bracing for an onslaught of loan applications…

Teen Arrested For Waving Rubber Penis At Motorists
An 18 year old man has been arrested following a roadway prank in Westmoreland County, PA. He was allegedly waving a rubber penis from a car window at other motorists. Police originally charged him with lewd conduct, but prosecutors say they may increase the charge to “open carry without a permit.” (Concealed carry of a penis is still legal in Pennsylvania, even without a permit) A visiting attorney from San Francisco says he should at least be charged with false advertising. If convicted, he faces a stiff term in a penile institution…

Imagine the Shit we would get for holding an all exclusive Miss “White” America Beauty Pageant.

This is the double standard BS that blacks needs to end. If these blacks want equal treatment, then they need to end these pageants based on color or race.

            • Better yet,we ignore it if it is a private function, really none of my business unless I want to check out some hot black women.

      24. This whole article by Denninger leaves me too depressed to comment.

        • And yet Coach, you did comment!

      25. Palmetto State Armory has an excellent price on 168 gr. Privi Partisan (PPU) Match ammo. I get better groups with it than FGMM. Twenty rounds @14.99. Check out their .556 ammo as well. Decent prices.

        • http://www.natchezss.com has 62gr 5.56 Green tips back on sale for an amazing low price of .31 cents a round. 150 Round box Min.. That is lower than 2010 prices. Stop up preppers.

      26. I used to enjoy Denniger when he would appear on the Ron Smith Show on WBAL radio before Ron died of a rare fast acting pancreatic cancer. But deep down inside, Denniger reveals his steadfast support for the BEAST SYSTEM of aggressive military expansion and domination under various guises and false pretense.

There will never be “indictments” of the financial thieves because Denniger and the rest blindly support the military killing machine the thieves he wants to indict surround themselves with. In fact, I know Denniger to be a smart guy and a smart guy like him knows why there are no indictments. And so do the not-so-smart people…

Speaking of not-so-smart people, did any of you know that if England were one of the United States that it would be the poorest of the bunch? That’s how badly the bankster thieves have bled that country dry… All for the BEAST wars.

Why do you think the Scots are vying for their independence from the rest of the UK? Or that the Cornish have recently achieved country status?

but to be honest with you.. all this “Stuff” a lot of it is un-necessary and cumbersome to a person who doesnt “Need” someone or a government to do anything for them or to tell them what or how to do it

      29. I think the ultimate SHTF will be if a majority of people were not able to charge their “smart” phones. 2-3 days later after the phone does not turn on their brains would begin to leak out of their ears.

      30. The healthcare comments were really stupid. They’re not a cartel. They’re all independent institutions. Hospitals and doctors can charge what they want. That’s capitalism, regardless of what socialist laws are passed to lower prices and restrict supply.

His main point is false: the idea that there’s no rule of law for government employees. Really? The mailman can’t get charged with stealing mail? Local cops never go to prison?

The whole article was a waste.

        • Its silly. Many won’t take it. The reason illegals have jobs is as they don’t pay taxes like citizens. Those that take it will mostly just transfer from one column of welfare to another. You have to understand the system. Our dear leaders either don’t or are very evil.

Barn Cat, been to the hospital lately? It is a racket. The people running the emergency rooms and urgent cares are not stupid and regularly charge $500 to $1000 for what a docter 50 years ago could have handled for $5.

        • aSHEEP at the wheel, are we, barncat?

        • All of the doctors offices I go to here, the local hospital, and other health care providers in my area have all been bought out by one big corporation. They own hospitals and health care providers all over Virginia also. If there’s only one hospital in town, there’s no competition. It is a monopoly.

The mailman here won’t get fired. Even the other mailmen nicknamed him “DAD” (dumb as dirt). He delivers mail to the incorrect addresses almost every day. That’s a crime right there.

          • My mail guy is great, never a problem and leaves things under cover on porch if too large to fit in box.

        • Aaah. Another person who thinks totally free market capitalism is pure sunshine and lollipops. Yes, the market may well adjust it again at some time in the future, but that does little to help those who need immediate care. If you were just in a car accident, you can’t well shop around for someone to stop the bleeding at a lower cost now can you? No, you are forced to use whatever hospital you are brought to (at a cost of $50 per mile for an ambulance staffed by $10/hr EMTs) lest you die. Thus, they have you by the balls and you must pay their price. Included in that price is the cost of everyone the hospital must treat by law that cannot afford to pay and doesn’t care about damage to their credit or being sued. It also includes the cost of malpractice insurance for the hospital and everyone involved in your treatment. Thus, the system is screwed until all of these dynamics can be taken care of. Obamacare tried to take care of it by forcing the uninsured to buy insurance, but guess what? After a year of that misery the uninsured rate is about the same as it was before-16%. Only now that 16% (of which I am one) are forced to pay a fine for not being able to afford coverage, further reducing the financial resources at their disposal to pay for care. A better solution would have been single payer but then that’s a bad idea too. It would have insured everyone but done nothing meaningful to control costs. At best it would be limited care and at worst eugenics.

      31. Things are more the way they are now than they have ever been before.

      32. If you don’t learn from your past you are doomed to repeat it……doesn’t matter your views, we are in for a huge awakening. Sadly, most are still sleeping and happy to be oblivious to what’s happening. As long as they are happy they don’t care.

Does anyone else think it’s kinda scary that high level people keep stating that we are in for another big incident? I guess it’s better to get your plan out in the open first before it happens. So the government can strip us of more rights. Boy oh boy. The USA is in bad shape.

      33. WHO says Ebola outbreak could strike 20,000 people

“The current Ebola outbreak in West Africa could infect more than 20,000 people, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Thursday in a bleak assessment of the deadly disease.
The United Nations health agency issued a strategic plan to combat the outbreak in four West African nations where it said the actual number of cases could already be two to four times higher than the reported 3,069. The death toll stands at 1,552.

“This roadmap assumes that in many areas of intense transmission the ACTUAL number of cases may be 2-4 fold HIGHER than that currently reported. It acknowledges that the aggregate case load of Ebola Virus Disease could exceed 20,000 over the course of this emergency,” the WHO said”

      35. We as a society have allowed things to get out of hand. Corrupt politicians steal at will and we say nothing; health care charges that are not supported by facts but we say nothing because insurance companies pick up the tab; banks create new fees for services that were introduced for free and we say nothing; welfare fraud is rampant and we do nothing; soon we as a nation will drift into the social situation we deserve. We will be second class beggars.

        • I might be ‘second class’, but I’ll never beg.

      37. Do the research, and you will find one architect behind all these bad policies and corporate/government theft: former British prime minister Gordon Brown. Connect the dots: he unleashed the financial services free-for-all in the late 1990s, he was involved in monkey business during the Asian Financial Crisis, he has been involved in every New World Order/One World scam going on since the 1980s. He advised the US government on what to do during the 2007/2008 financial crisis and supposedly “saved the world” when he signed the UK tax payer up for the biggest debt obligations in the country’s history and the first bank runs since the 1600s. He also extended welfare dependency to record levels.

Strip out the talking heads, the financial fog, and you will see the wizard behind the scenes pulling the levers.

      39. Jon Stewart warns ISIS: Be careful what you wish for, America is ‘living your dream’
On Wednesday night’s Daily Show, Jon Stewart offered a pretty counterintuitive approach to handling the insurgency from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). After halfheartedly walking his viewers through ISIS 101, using his patented technique of having TV news clips answer his leading questions, Stewart focused on the Islamist militia’s plans for carving out an Islamic caliphate. And he addressed ISIS directly, issuing a stark warning: Be careful what you wish for.

“That’s right ISIS, look at us,” Stewart said. “We’re living your dream. We’re the most powerful state in history, we influence the whole world, and all we talk about is how everything sucks now!” Well, if cautionary tales about bogged-down bureaucracy and partisan gridlock doesn’t stop ISIS, at least it’s cheaper than airstrikes. –Peter Weber

        • John Stewart is a socialist f*cktard who thinks Obolo walks on water.

… and ya, I get the irony that Stewart was trying to portray.

Doesn’t change the fact that Stewart is just one more socialist in a long line of socialist f*cktard entertainers, who by the way don’t deserve my or anyone else’s time or attention.

      43. WW3 is already on. Finalize your plans now. There isn’t going to be any warning when it blows up big time. This is the warning. Expect no other.

        • This is true: anyone who is in the military or works in security/secret services already knows this. We have been in full-on WWW3 for the past five years but it is mostly a silent war behind the scenes: economic warfare, spy warfare, technological warfare. It is, however, hot in various places: Africa, Ukraine and the Middle East. Sad.

      44. Denninger says the average person borrows to either consume or speculate. I don’t believe anybody borrows money (other than the already rich) to speculate. But we do end up putting things we need on a credit card. If my car breaks down and I need $350 to fix it and I don’t have the money–but I need to fix the car so I won’t be stranded or left without a way to get to work– I’m going to use a credit card and go into debt. I will be able to pay off that $350 over time.

Denninger says a lot of things, but it’s from the perspective of an angry rich guy who makes his money from the stock market. When I pointed out that the global financial network gets rich off the misery and sometimes death of the less fortunate, I was banned from his website. After all, I was telling people NOT to buy stocks, which would cut into Denninger’s profits.

I still say people need to buy tangible assets, like property, jewelry–anything that you can use to live. Stock certificates are not real life.

        • Dear sharonsj, when you borrowed the $350 Dollars to fix your car, you were speculating. You took a risk and hoped you’d be able to pay it back later.

Full Definition of SPECULATE intransitive verb:

2: to assume a business risk in hope of gain

What you did was no different from what many of the uber-wealthy do on the stock market, or when people borrow aganst the equity in their homes to buy more property or to fix their house up so they can try and sell it for more than they bought it for, or when students get student loans.

          It’s all speculating via debt.

“I will be able to pay off that $350 over time.”

          You hope.

Also, I’m not sure about this: “Stock certificates are not real life.”?
Stock in a gold mine, stock in a lumber company, or stock in a railroad company all seem pretty real to me.

          • Dang, I expected a reply.

…But, I know, it’s hard to keep up.

I’ll prolly never make it back this way myself. …Such is life.

      45. The Time Is Ripe For A False-Flag Attack On American Soil

        http://www.activistpost.com/2014/08/the-time-is-ripe-for-false-flag-attack.html#more

The U.S. has been secretly arming and training ISIS extremists in Syria for years, but only at the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014 did it begin a more open campaign to provide support.”

“In an absurd display of forced schizophrenia, globalist organizations along with the puppet White House now argue that the existence of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, the same ISIS insurgency THEY CREATED, requires the U.S. to execute air strikes and military intervention in the region. Of course, to remain “fair and balanced”, the White House proposes to strike Syrian Government targets as well in order to avoid “strengthening Assad”. Yeah, read that twice, folks…”

Now, I have asked this question in the past, and I’ll ask it again – Is it merely irony that the White House is going to war with the covert militant group it gave birth to?

No, it is not irony. It is planned. ISIS is the new and improved Al-Qaeda.”

      46. We spoke with a 72 year old white guy yesterday. Until we told him a month ago that whites in America only made up a little over 50% of the US population, he was shocked. He had no idea that there had been a change in the US demographics downward from 90%. Hispanics are the second largest demographic in the US, but if you watch television, you won’t see very many Hispanics there. Why? It appears TPTB don’t want to wake up the general public. A sleeping victim is an easy victim.

        • … but you DO see a far greater proportion of blacks represented that their 13% share of the population demographic. Not that I’m racist. I think that anyone willing to work hard and earn their living is representative of all of the best things that this country used to represent. This PC, entitlement, slavery payback mentality that has overtaken this country is just one more reason for our ultimate downfall.

      47. Just a word to the wise. Use a rocket stove for cooking your meals and heating water. It uses a 10th of the wood approximately that most wood fired stoves or fires use. Also a rocket stove mass heater will keep you warm all night long with only a handful of kindling. You tube is full of videos on this stuff and they are as inexpensive or costly as you want. Hope this sinks in!!!

      48. I saw a FEMA big rig turning off Military Highway near Greenbrier in Norfolk/Chesapeake, VA late this afternoon. The trailer was old and gray all over with no markings. The cab was white and had “FEMA Disaster Relief” on the door.

        • That is the “camp bus”,just practicing the route for picking up campers now so they can set the schedules and folks not left waiting at end of the drive.A poster here keeps bringing up what they think are plastic coffins,as I have said before, these are just giant cake molds so there is plenty of “Welcome to camp fema cake”when the campers arrive.

      49. Good list. These items should be a normal, everyday part of life, not just now that the fear of an all-is-lost situations. In any 3rd world country, food presentation, tools, and most importantly, improvisation and know-how, are essential and are day to day must-have’s. Thanks for all of the good tips.

      50. I’m prepping to go without a generator. I don’t have the means to store gas until the end of the world, and I feel that running a generator and having gas storage could make me more of a target. I dug out and prepared a root cellar and will be using this to keep things cool. I’m going to prepare two hidden places underground to keep my food too. Take everything out of boxes so they don’t have bar codes or anything on them and store them in something else.

We’ve been buying candles for the past two years, batteries, and oil lanterns. Now we’re making our own giant candles to handle living with no electricity.

Been putting together our own means to generate heat as well with the pot/foil/tealight candle method. We tested it last winter and it works very well.

I have a bug out strategy, but we prefer to take our stand here where we live.

      51. I have a question about those kerosene cook stoves.

Say you have to bug out inside and can’t go out. Can you cook with those inside, safely?

      52. Ok, could i say sonething laydies and anklemen? Nice work, Karl, one of the best!

      53. I have a comment laydies and anklemen, Nice work Karl, one of the best! Dont you know Auntie May is being kept from mayberry? Those scrambled eggs dont make much sense especcially if one could have the real deal! Like your unf perhaps!
