55 Percent Of Americans Believe That The Government Will Take Care Of Them If Disaster Strikes

Do you LOVE America?

If a major emergency happened in the United States, do you have faith that the government would take care of you?  Amazingly, even after all of the examples to the contrary that we have seen in recent years, a solid majority of all Americans actually believe that the government will be there for them when things hit the fan.  According to a new survey conducted by the Adelphi University Center for Health Innovation, 55 percent of Americans believe that the authorities will come to their rescue when disaster strikes.  Sadly, most Americans still view the government as a “nanny state” that has both the capability and the willingness to take care of them from the cradle to the grave.  Most Americans still have faith that the government will come through for them when they need it the most.  But all we have to do is look back at what happened during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to realize what a crock of baloney that is.  Hurricane Katrina was a disaster that was limited to a relatively small geographic area, and yet we all saw how the response of the federal government was a complete and utter failure.  So what is going to happen someday if there is a nationwide disaster that stretches on for months or even years?  Do you really believe that the federal government will be there for you?

How is the federal government going to take care of more than 300 million Americans in the event of a major financial collapse?

How is the federal government going to rescue more than 300 million Americans if a killer pandemic sweeps the nation?

How is the federal government going to make sure that more than 300 million Americans are safe and secure if a cyber attack cripples our power grid or takes down the entire Internet?

How is the federal government going to get food and water to more than 300 million Americans if an EMP blast takes down most of the electronics in this country?

It would be easy to go on and on discussing various nationwide emergency scenarios.  All over the globe the number of earthquakes is increasing, and it would be easy to imagine an absolutely massive earthquake on the west coast or along the New Madrid fault in the middle of the country leaving tens of millions of Americans in need of basic assistance.

What would the federal government do in a situation like that?

Or how would the government handle a full-blown eruption of a major volcano in the Pacific northwest?

If the federal government could not even come close to handling Hurricane Katrina, then how in the world are they going to rescue us from something far worse?

Sadly, most Americans just roll along as if everything is going to be just fine.  Just check out some of the other numbers from the surveymentioned at the top of this article….

-44 percent of all Americans do not have first-aid kits in their homes.

-48 percent of all Americans do not have any emergency supplies stored up.

-53 percent of all Americans do not have a 3 day supply of nonperishable food and water in their homes.

Essentially, what we have got is about half the country that is completely and totally unprepared.

About half the nation is sitting back and relying on the government to make all of the preparations.

Yes, the government is definitely preparing, but those preparations are only going to go so far.

On July 19th, 2012 FEMA posted a solicitation document for packaged meals.  According to that document, the maximum amount of meals that would be provided to FEMA under the contract would be 17.5 million meals.  The following is from the FEMA solicitation document….

As referred to in paragraph (b) of FAR Clause 52.216-22, “Indefinite Quantity” of this contract, the guaranteed contract minimum is 21,000 packaged meals to include the base and option periods.  The contract ceiling amount shall not exceed 17,500,000 packaged meals.

But even if FEMA ordered all 17.5 million meals, that simply is not going to go very far.  That would only be enough to provide about 5 percent of the population with a single meal.

So perhaps we should applaud FEMA for thinking ahead, but the truth is that there is simply no way that FEMA is going to be able to provide even the basic necessities for everyone if there is a very large regional or national disaster.

When a true disaster hits this country, the system is going to be concerned with saving and guarding and perpetuating itself.  The system is not really going to care about the survival of all of the “useless eaters” out there.

Recently, Barack Obama signed a series of executive orders that grant him extraordinary powers in the event of a national emergency.

With the stroke of a pen, Barack Obama could potentially take control of all food, all energy, all health resources, all transportation resources and all communication resources (including television, radio and the Internet).

Barack Obama insists that all of these executive orders are absolutely necessary.

Does he know something that we don’t?

In a recent editorial by Barack Obama that ran in the Wall Street Journal, Obama warned us of some of the potential consequences of a devastating cyber attack….

It doesn’t take much to imagine the consequences of a successful cyber attack. In a future conflict, an adversary unable to match our military supremacy on the battlefield might seek to exploit our computer vulnerabilities here at home. Taking down vital banking systems could trigger a financial crisis. The lack of clean water or functioning hospitals could spark a public health emergency. And as we’ve seen in past blackouts, the loss of electricity can bring businesses, cities and entire regions to a standstill.

So is there a reason why he is coming out with this now just a few months before the election?

That is a very good question.

In any event, the truth is that in the event of a major nationwide emergency the number one priority of the authorities will not be to take care of you.

In fact, the well being of you and your family will be very low on the list.

One of the top priorities will be to restore order, and authorities will use as much violence and brutality as it takes in order to do that.

We see examples of this around the nation every day.  For example, just check out the video posted below.  In the video, police officers in Anaheim, California can be seen firing “non-lethal” rounds at men, women and children while a police dog knocks over a baby carriage and attacks a woman who is holding a baby….

If that is how the authorities treat us in “good times”, then how would they treat us during a true emergency?

And right now things are falling apart all around us.  The economy continues to get worse in many ways, and the U.S. poverty rate is currently on pace to reach its highest level since the 1960s.

As I wrote about a few days ago, the Federal Reserve and the federal government did not prevent the last major global financial crisis, and they are not going to be able to prevent the next one from happening either.

If you want to make it through what is coming, it is up to you to get prepared.  Nobody else is going to do it for you.

When the next major natural disaster or economic crisis happens, it will be those that have prepared that will have hope.  Those that have not prepared will be freaking out and many of them will totally give in to despair or fear.  But those that have gotten ready for the storm ahead of time will be able to be at peace.

Our world is becoming more unstable with each passing day.  If you have blind faith that the government will always take care of you, then there is a very good chance that someday you will be bitterly disappointed.  But if you work really hard to prepare yourself and your family now, then you will have a much better chance of making it through what is rapidly approaching.

      1. Yeah, the check’s in the mail.

        • At least 55% of all Americans are going to get a nice chip put into their hand, arm, or in their head after an intense enough SHTF event IF the government itself is still left standing.

At least 55% of the people are totally dedelusional if they don’t think there will be a nice hefty price for government help.

At least 55% of the people are not going to have anything in their house to store up because the state will always be there for them.

I am surprised that number of 55% is not closer to 85% or higher. It makes you really wonder about the other 43% of the people that are not preparing where they think the food, water, and other necessities are going to come from. The remaining 1% of people prepping for their tomorrow know.

          • When you look across the battlefield of tomorrow, you will see that 55 percent looking back at you. You’ll know what to do then.

            • The percentage of those living above the “official” poverty line is roughly the same as the percentage of the total workforce that work for the government corp directly or one it’s its MILITARY contractors.

It is not the poor we need to be concerned with. It is the one who will fight for the corp against the poor to keep their own money flowing.

Once the corp gets half of the population on Food Stamps and the other half working directly for it, it will probably be time to pull the plug in the eyes of the attackers.

The ones unaccounted for, US that do neither, will determine the future.

            • GC, you’re right about the ones that’ll fight for the corp. They are the ones I’ve prepared for, if you know what I mean. Many will become impoverished over night and be in a fog/disbelief. These are the ones I’ve prepared to help with food, clothing, and medical assistance.

            • PO’s patroit, no one has taken a look at the morge records from katrina,OVER 5,000 guys brough in that were SHOT in the HEAD at close range, hundrens of women and children dead from gun shot wounds, from the military, who said they were there to HELP,with this KIND of help we don’t need it………..

          • BI, I agree with you about the numbers. I’ll bet they are much higher.

            • I would guess here in Hawaii, our numbers are probably like 98%, and i feel for all of the tourist that can’t adapt and overcome on the fly.

i beleive every law abiding tourist should bring their ccw/paperwork, and store it unloaded in the hotel safe.

THERE IS NO WAY, I WOULD WANT TO BE HERE “WITHOUT” ANY PREPS. this will be a hellhole within HOURS.

THANKS MAC – FOR ALL YOU DO, FOR ALL OF US.

          • Sorry about the fumble fingers as I meant to hit 44% instead of 43%. It doesn’t matter though, 99% of the people remain clueless.

          • Giving up a childish belief that “the government” will take care of you in a major crisis is not the same as actually starting to take on that responsibility and act like an AMERICAN, not a helpless serf.

I believe that the biggest problem is in people’s minds. Why do we still insist on talking about “the government”? There is NO SUCH THING as “the government”: its just a bunch of guys who want to spend your money so they can run your life. Some of them are good, some of them are bad, some are smart while others are blitheringly stupid or batshit crazy (or in the case of Nancy Pelosi, both).

Think about the average person; then understand that they are average because HALF the population is less intelligent and less responsible. Now think about the average Congressman. Do you really want to stake your entire future on the hope that THEY are going to “figure it out” for you?

talk about a slim reed to rest one’s hopes upon!

            stand strong until freedom dawns

          • “”” It makes you really wonder about the other 43% of the people that are not preparing where they think the food, water, and other necessities are going to come from.”””

            Their government job…

          • Yeah I think the 55% are the same 55% that don’t pay any Federal Income Tax. So it stands to reason they think the US government will rescue them.

          • I hear a lot of people say tthey know something is coming, but if you ask what they have done about it, you get a blank stare.

        • Yea…keep on believing that someone from the govt will come and rescue you in your hour of need.

God is the only one that will not disappoint you.

          • Hey Michael…is that last photo a picture of your food storage closet….LOL

            • that last photo is what i strive for !lmao
              never happen!

            • Tina and hammerhead, I would love to have something like that also, but to have a “stash” like that, your place better be off the beaten path, and you will never have to leave, or more than likely someone else will enjoy it. I live in a rural area but I am now going to go cache some stuff away, at least if I get overrun I don’t have all my eggs in one basket. 🙂

        • They did a fair job after the recent storms here which knocked out power for about a week. The governments (federal, state, and local) will help us in the event of a localized disaster – eventually. FEMA is now advising we have two weeks worth of food to cover the gap. They were embarrassed after Hurricane Hugo and have responded by throwing tax dollars at the problem.

I’ll go ahead and give them credit for a month of aid under current circumstances and take personal responsibility for the two weeks before help arrives and the 99 years after it runs out.

          • Sorry – Hurricane Katrina. I was in Hugo.

            • @ Prepared I was also in Hugo I was not even 20 yrs old yet and will NEVER forget the horror of that. My walls looked like they were breathing…..waas in St. pete at the time

            • I was in houston for ike.

After power was restored, we turned on the news, and it was non stop video of idiots in hummer 2’s getting there free case of mre’s and a case of water.

              PATHETIC!!!!!

Those people taking advantage of the system while its up and running, are going to be the ones putting a pistol to your back for your food when it crashes.

            • i was in mississippi before, during, and after katrina.. believe me, the people of mississippi were taking care of mississippians and cleaning up and rebuilding before fema even thought of coming to mississippi.

            • was in s. fla for andrew; never saw my dad so scared in his life. breathing walls and rising canals…more recently opal and ike in the panhandle. no power for 2 weeks, and no water for almost 3. we pulled together, didn’t have the katrina violence. and FEMA gnereously (sarc) offered small business loans of about 50% the cost to fix our home. we handled it ourselves. blue tarps rule!

          • Yeah that’s pretty scary that all those individuals were without power for so long.

            • @Caryn–Don’t you watch the news? Everybody knows Katrina only damaged New Orleans. That’s all I saw!

        • 55% of Americans are deaf, blind morons that are going to get exactly what they are asking for.

        • IRS owes me $1,200.00 since Feb. 2012 when I did my 2011 taxes. I still have not seen a penny and it is 7-27-12,almost time to do my taxes again.
I owed them $300.00 a few years ago and they threatened to throw me in jail because I owed them for two months.

Ya, Government will take care of you alright…

      2. Scary, isn’t it

      3. HELP ???

        ;0) BWAAAHAHAHA

        you know nuthing !!!

        they want you d e a d !!!

        get it ???

anything the fedgov gives you will have “eugenics” death in it !!!

your only dependable help is looking back at you in the mirror !!!

        ~N.O.

      4. i never believed in any governments, when shtf, they’ll be the first ones out of here on a beach somewhere wondering how america is going, i stopped paying taxes long ago, maybe everyone should stop too, lets stop working for them and start working for ourselves

        • Good man Matt, refreshing to see a post like that once in a while. With it, I’ll post a wonderful article that I read today.

          ww.sobran.com/reluctant.shtml

      5. FEMA wants 17.5 million packaged meals. DHS has put in an order for 450 million rounds of .40SW hollow point ammo. 55% of Americans still think the government is going to take care of them in the event of a disater? What is wrong with this picture? Also, as I see it our so called law enforcement agencies are turning more and more into a paramilitary organization that views the citizens as the enemy. What is going to happen when they turn rogue, and start without restraint act as if we were the enemy?

        • I agree. 17.5 million meals is a nice start; however, it wouldn’t be a drop in the bucket. Unless this is assuming we can only have one crisis at a time.

I live in a mid-western city of about 34,000 people, per the 2011 census. 21,000 meals (minimum of the FEMA contract) wouldn’t give every person in my small mid-western town one meal. 17.5 million wouldn’t give two meals to the population of my entire state.

Something tells me I’d rather have something of my own food, if possible.

          • VanMom: You do get it do you? Those meals are not designed to feed the general population. They are designed to feed First Responders and government troops the PTB know they will need to provide security and maintain order.

            keep prepping.

            • YES! durango, you are right ! the meals are not for the people , they are for the .gov .
they are meals for saviors. hahaha

            • Durango Kidd:

Naturally, I do not have any. 😉

Most of the sheeple (that I could possible share the news with), might be interested in prepping if they could realize how it applies to them, in my opinion.

I’m a numbers person and the fact that the local sheeple wouldn’t even be able to eat.

Not sure that it pays to be the teacher when it comes to guiding others to be responsible for themselves.

            • Thank you.

I just realized something…that’s like 5 times now I’ve agreed with something you said…

            • JustMe: Ah yes. There is hope. I must comment again tomorrow. 🙂

          • I’m thinking what if that 17.5 million meals is only to feed their goons??

            • OOps, I responded before reading dk’s post..and ..that’s my final answer!!

            • JayJay,

Absolutely right! The maximum amount ordered will only take care of “insiders” and not for tax payers.

            • With 3 mre’s a day thats a year for 15981.73 people.

That pretty much feeds the executive, legislative and judicial branches supporters

            • Ding! Ding! We have a winner! Exactly what they are for not the general population. They have other plans for them/us.

      6. Goverment education, free hand outs, etc. do we need to go on. Look the TPTB known they have 55% in the bag, what about the other 45%. The way I see it of the 45%, 30% are on the fence, 10% are just blind and the remaining 4% is somewhat totally prepared for the B S that is coming down at them. It is the 1% that has them so worried, they know they will have to deal with them sooner or latter. The cards are totally stacked in their favor, but it will cost them dearly to play’em. The longer the 1% can hold out I believe the more will start to see the light and maybe just maybe come on over to the right side. This maybe a pipe dream, but I pray that it is not. We that are prepared will have to give it our all to hold out and I for one am prepared to do so. Lets face it the tuff times are coming, no question about it. Keep preparing for the long haul.
But thats just me thinking out loud
STAND TALL–LIVE FREE–GIVE THEM NOTHING,BUT HARD DI-K AND BUBBLE GUM

      7. ” 55 percent of Americans believe that the authorities will come to their rescue when disaster strikes” 55% of Americans are damn fools.

“But all we have to do is look back at what happened during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to realize what a crock of baloney that is. Hurricane Katrina was a disaster that was limited to a relatively small geographic area, and yet we all saw how the response of the federal government was a complete and utter failure.” clearly that was Bush’s fault!!! /sarcasm

        • Yes…and DO NOT forget we knew exactly when Katrina was coming. Hell….I watched it coming for 3 days. We knew where it was going, when it would land and people still sat there and didn’t take action. They still expected the govt to get them out of harms way.

          • which is WHY so many finger pointing crybabies tried to blame Bush for everything,Ray Nagin, mayor of New Orleans being the prime example. Does anyone else remember all those buses up to their wheel wells in water because the good mayor never thought to use them?

I’m not saying Bush had no culpability, but its as if so many people have concluded that since he’s not President anymore that another Katrina could never happen

            • Fairness would have had Nagin hanging from a light post by his neck in downtown New Orleans.
By the way, where is this asshat now? Surely livin’ large off of a government pension. He should, at the least, be in jail. F*^@#ng Moron!

            • The feds are not legally allowed to come until the state asks them. One of the few times .gov cares about the law.

I heard Nagin thought the school buses would not be comfortable enough for a long trip.

      8. The power went out at my office. The block across the street had power, but our side of the street for a few blocks did not. Today’s issue will likely be resolved by this evening. Our city electric company hopeful that it will be within two or so hours.

The confusion/frustration was almost comical, other than the fact that we can’t use the computers we SO heavily depend upon, everyone was just fine and the duration of this crisis is likely only a few hours. When I thought about what I could actually accomplish at my desk (without electricity), it was limited to a mailing and some filing. However, I have a project due at the end of the week and I am now at home to work on it from here.

I can only imagine if it was a problem that lasted longer than the anticipated three hours… Something to ponder.

      9. Look on the bright side…45% of Americans do not believe that the Gov’ is going to protect them! That sounds like 1/2 of the folks got a little bit of a clue.
But then again, how many of that 45% have done something about it???

          • I have family members like that. They know something is up and do nothing to prepare. They are in the 45%. They dont trust the government, but when I ask if they have a little extra food or even one fire arm in the house, they change the subject.

            • The thing with the 45% is that many believe God will make it rain bread. Faith is good but God tells us to prepare spiritually and physically. History escapes most believers today. Christians and everyone else on the planet has had their day of pain. This time will be no different. God puts everyone, believer or not through trials.

Or I could be wrong and assume that the majority are just naive and lacking critical thinking skills.

            • I Timothy 5:8….Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

            • Yep, it’s amazing how quickly they go from agreeing with you on the government’s incompetence to thinking you are a kook whenever you mention being prepared for an emergency!

          • Mac, I think that is the bigger story here. People not living according to their professed beliefs. Certainly not a new story only a new era. For example, a common theme throughout scripture is that debt is a curse, but how many professing Christians and Jews enslave themselves? Too many.

      10. I wonder what the 55% would do for food when they are starving? What would they do for a case of MREs?

        • When that time comes about, stand in the street holding up a MRE. You’ll get your answer pretty quick. But then again the DNR will probably cite you for shooting over bait.

          • PO’d, You don’t think they’ll be a little busy trying to catch “poachers”. haha!

            • Yeah I do like my deer and turkeys just like I like my eggs…….Poached!

            • My neighbor talks about how many deer he got in and out of season like its normal.

            • I think I remember a tale of about a band of merry men that went around shooting the King’s deer and robbing from the rich to give to the poor.

        • They wouldn’t know what to do with an MRE let alone recognize one if it hit them in the head. If it doesn’t say Pizza Hut on the box it is trash.

        • MSM for the last 3 days; ” who in the hell needs 6000 rounds of ammo, and why?”
Best response so far; 6000 means I’m gittin’ low!

      11. So 55% of the population expects the feds to provide assistance in a disaster. I submit that that percentage is very low. That 55% “guesstimate” plus an additional 40% are unprepared for even electricity being off for a week.

That is correct, 95% is WOEFULLY unprepared for even the electricity being off. I see it every year just in my area…EVERY YEAR. I have read where barely 3% of the population preps for even for 1 month. Even less for longer periods. Someone have any facts to the opposite? Amazing that the prep number is so low.

Previews of things to come as the “nanny thinking” permeates most every household. Yes, we all hope for the best and wish it to be so. But damn, it is like the big red barn outside…it is all right in front of me if I care to look.

Stay safe everyone, educate yourself as much as possible. Hopey/Changey kool-aid “Big Gulpers” are creating HAZMAT levels of insanity….getting scary.

        • Hang in there my Brother. Wasn’t Tet fun?

          • 2 thumbs down…..must be Liberal peter puffers!

      12. 17.5 million meals and 450 million rounds?? (I am sure they have even more) Sounds more like they are preparing for themselves and how they will survive the aftermath of whatever is coming. I really do not think they give a rat’s butt about us. Our taxes and bailouts and printing press is helping pay for them to be well protected wshf. I hate it for the 55% and the others who have their heads in the sand, but some people will never wake up, no matter how much info is in their faces.

        • 17.5 meals and 450 million rounds …hmmm I wonder who will even be left for the food?

          • When they start to run out of MREs, they’ll turn on themselves. Parasites and thier lackies always do.

      13. I have a bad feeling that when people find out that you or I have prepped and you are not going to share with them on a permanent basis then they will be running to the local authorities to report a “hoarder” and then an army of LEO’s will show up at your door to take control of your preps for the “betterment of the community”. You see, it is not fair that you were frugal and intelligent and thought about that rainy day. You owe it to the community, you have a duty not to be selfish.

OPSEC, OPSEC, OPSEC is absolutely the most important aspect of preparing. And If you think that you can hold off an army of “LEO’S” well then good luck

        • You are spot on!!!

You will be sold out probably by the one person you least expected.

        • Get as far away from the unprepared as you can and keep your preps to yourself. Jesus spent a few short years curing the sick, blind and lame. Even He could do nothing for the FOOLS. Peace be with you and yours. OUR DAY WILL COME SOON!

        • I think that I have a different idea of what constitutes “betterment”.

          • Me too, but it won’t make much difference what we think when 200 of them show up hungry, arrogant, and armed to the teeth

        • US Centurian..that’s when you tell them good luck with finding the right ones tainted with poisons or not..and oh, you lost the color coded script key telling you which is which???
I’m color coding my buckets and cans now…not the cans, just the cases they’re in..
Fun around my house..I’m a Tn girl and old..I don’t go down easily.:-)

          • holy crap, that’s AWESOME! That’s the best prep advice I’ve gotten all week

          • SonofSam is right, awesome advice.

        • @ Centurion: I have no idea what you’re talking about. All of my food went in the water during the same boating accident that claimed my guns

          • @SOS

That would be the main problem with us preppers, always taking *all* our preps with us on canoe trips!

          • moved mine out to the shed and it got baked in this heat/drought…had to throw it out and start over….(the river is too far to haul)

        • Does anyone have a pic of some ruined stockpiles so I can show it off? No one has seen my stash so I’d like to tell them about my “bad day” and tell them I’m not wasting my money prepping ANYMORE!!!

      14. Considering it took 8 days for us to get electricity back after that storm hit us on June 29th, I don’t count on them doing jack squat for me and mine if a REAL disaster hits.

I can and will count on myself – and only myself – thanks.

      15. 55% of Americans are idiots…..and a fair percentage of the other 45% are suspect as well.

      16. 55% say that the government will bail them out no matter what, so there is no need to prepare.

44% don’t think that the government will help, but think that their needs will fall from the sky or they will try to rip off their prepper neighbors.

1% are ready and understand that preparation is the ONLY way to survive without having the government enslave you and take your freedoms away.

Look at these figures. Are the 1% of the population the ONLY ones that see this as being incredibly wrong?

The 55% are bad enough, they are in love with BO and the government. The other 44% are almost unclassified as WHAT? If those 44% don’t think the government will come to their rescue, then who will? Why are they not storing up something? When I say this I thought that maybe 85-95% of the people would think that the state would come to save them. ONLY 55% believe that the government will help them stay alive. 44% remain that are not preparing even though they believe that the state will not help them out.

It is no wonder with these totals that these imbecile very bad leaders are elected each 4 years. There is already a plague loose in the United States, it is called STUPID.

      17. hahahaaha good luck to the 55% ers

      18. As a non-American I have to wonder about those numbers. I have the feeling as if it were only the white people who are prepping, and the black/latinos rely on government/big family? Am I right?

It would be nice to hear if/how the black/latinos prepare?

        • I’m mixed race American Indian and Celtic White.

        • I am mixed: half white—half wild turkey (hic)!!!

        • Actually I’m half Mexican half Puerto Rican…100% American. I prep just like everyone else. Work for what I have and am DAMN PROUD of all of this. Thus the name Young (25) MAP (Mexican American Prepper) I got my shot together without help from the government or anyone else.

      19. THEY WILL GET ALL THE GOVT HELP THEY DESERVE LOL..

        • Who’s in the White House?

          • Your mortal enemies…

      20. Just hide your stash and look hungry. Go to town meetings looking for people with food. Your absence makes you guilty of hiding something. Cache 90% of your supplies.

Just because we do not take yearly vacations in order to prepare does not mean we should not take that vacation when everything is falling apart around us. People traded their SHTF food and supplies for rides with Mickey Mouse.

      21. I work at a major chemical plant. With no power, the river water pumps to coolers shut down, plant air and nitrogen systems fail also. It could get nasty very quickly. Just a mile down is a major ordinance plant for the army. I do not know what would happen thier but im sure scary and this is in a small section of the country and thier are other large manufactures here such as a paper company with a large supply of chlorine gas. All 3 of these plants are withen a 5 mile radius of one another. You could easily kill thousands of people and destroy the enviroment if these plants went up in flames.
I would hate to see what nuclear power plants will do. So prepare well. When the SHTF hits, it will be far worse than what anyone here has ever imagined.

        • East Tenn

I put in almost 30 years in both the chemical and oil refining industries. I’ll go in no detail but what your stating is typical. For that reason I suspected the “War on Terrorism” to be a sham when places like that are very insecure. Mechanical breakdown (budget cuts on maintenance) coupled with a tad of human error can make a Bhopal India Union Carbide situation without any intent. Add an Islamic crazy wanting to see Allah and take 5000 people with him and you have a recipe for disaster. You can bet any similar plant in Israel has top security 24/7.

What Uncle Sam has the capability of doing gets confused by the body politic to become what they will do (and have done). Uncle Sam could have air dropped an enormous amount of supplies (MREs and potable water) by air and chopper in teams to distribute the same. Instead the most common thing flying were News Helicopters and the job of the police / National Guard was to disarm the law abiding. If does not take much thought to realize their training focused around control and not help.

        • YEH E.T=i grew up near there, after Army/Air force ,i was union M.W., got incap from chlorine from bwaters few times/

the gas clouds there can stay low and go for acres

          Good Luck Brother!

but did not know of ammo=”o” ?

        • A few years back some meth head thought he could score some ammonia to cook up his stuff, tapped into a large tower of ammonia at the Arlington, Washington vegetable processing plant. Numbnutted idiot broke the valve on the tank and released the ammonia, had to evacuate a town of 3000 people for the day. I’d hate to see what a large plant fire or releasea would do, especially with no first responders available, which is likely in SHTF event.

      22. I’m part of the 55%….oh..you mean “help” as in actually help and not kill or imprison…never mind…

      23. Breaking news. 55% of Americans are retarded.

        • LOL!

        • MLG:

I am actually surprised that the number wasn’t higher than 55%. So many people have their head in the sand and do not want to see what is really happening 🙁

        • Don’t insult the developmentally disabled. Some of them have a lot more sense than these 55%.

I would say 55% have their heads stuck in the sand but that would be an insult to ostriches.

          • At first I thought this was a call for me to censor my language and be politically correct. But before I could get my irish up and my fingers to the keyboard, I got it. lol. Yes, mentally disabled people often have more sense, not to mention more kindness and apathy.

      24. Me, I am going to act just like those who have nothing and scream “where is FEMA”. Then I am going inside and have a good meal, check what news is available, take a nap and get back out there screaming “Where is FEMA”. When everyone gets desperate for food and water I will act just as desparate and watch them get mowed down by those preppers who have prepared. I will then grab what weapons / ammo the have nots lost and go home and repeat the process the next day. Then through attrition the have nots should be wittled down to a manageable level. Life is a bitch some times but you can only warn them so much.

        • I like your thinking Brian 🙂

        • Sounds like you have a plan, Brian. Just don’t get caught in the crossfire while those nonpreppers are getting whittled down. Stay safe!

And that reminds me of just how much the rallying cry of Americans has changed over the years.

Way…way back when, it was “I want my Maypo” (bet most of you don’t remember that one)

In the 1980’s it was “I want my MTV” (though I can’t imagine why anybody would actually WANT that, I paid the cable company extra to block it out)

In the 1990’s it was The Cartoon Network- “Gimme More!” (possibly the most purely American battle cry of the last half century)

Today it’s “Where’s FEMA?!” That’s hilarious…and heartbreakingly sad at the same time.

      25. I can’t imagine what the author was / is thinking when he stated 17,500,00 meal packs won’t go very far. They’re not intended for you or me, and never were. It’s obvious by the order, (and this assumes there no orders from other company’s)that there is no attempt to feed the masses. But then who are the meal packs for? (Rhetorical)

If you have set aside some chow for later, Bon-appetit.
        If you haven’t, well………………….

      26. Problem is that nothing is hitting the fan nor will it ……probably not in our lifetime!!!!!
Its already been 4 years of hearing this already and it will DEFINATELY be another 4 years.
I heard back in June that we had weeks and one guy even went on to say days in which I disagreed and here we are over a month later and now I hear the fall time but that wont happen either

        • Hi Richard, can I call you dick, thanks, listen, how about you take a trip to Iceland, Ireland, and Greece, then go to Portugal, Spain and Italy. Swing by and check out Japan talk to the people in all those countries then tell me everything will be alright. Also, go check out Chicago, beautiful city, very vibrant. Tell me how we get out from under 16 Trillion in debt. Tell me how someone who makes 20K a year pay’s off 160K in credit debt. I will believe everything you say. Baaaaaaaaaaa. Please stay true to your convictions, don’t become a prepper. I will think of you when we fall and wonder how you are.

        • Again, who can predict the date, besides those who create the (un-natural) disasters? I have been waiting to see this come down probably a lot longer than you.

One thing for certain, if you have watched long enough, the overall decline is evident. I want nothing more than to just live my life, but long ago lost the illusions of the 55%.

It is hard to look at everything in total, but there is a confluence of events coming. We are living in interesting times…

        • @ RICH99. The problem is that there are so many different angles that the world must worry about. The economy does have floodgates and MIGHT be able to be bandaged up for awhile. WAR is another issue. No one say the Israel and Hezbollah war in 2006, but it happened because of Hezbollah doing something really stupid. Kind of like what Hezbollah did when they bombed that bus full of Israelis in Bulgaria last week. Syria is a mess and Russia will not let it fall into western hands and lose the only Mediterrean port friendly to Russia. Iran is even a better mess with the U.S. bearing down on it, along with Israel. Point is the Middle-East is vastly different than it ever has been in the past.

I am personally seeing much increased action in the geophysical aspect. San Andreas is way overdue, especially the southern section. The New Madrid fault is showing some signs of waking up. I am truly more concerned about what is going on down in New Zealand. The Australian plate is truly in a pushing war with the Pacific plate and one can see who is winning by the shape of the plate boundaries, the larger Pacific plate. There is the 5th. largest super volcano that previously went off down there. I am more concerned about the southern hempishere with super volcanoes than Yellowstone.

I say this again and again because the fossil records shows sudden exictions of species suddenly and the one thing that can do this so quickly is a plague. I have seen plant species all of a sudden die off completely, like the American Chestnut tree decades ago. People in India and Bangledesh live in the worst conditions imaginable and viruses can thrive and breed in the prefect petri dish down there. No one cleans up the dead corpses that collect or raw sewage. I say it a is a miracle that an Andromeda Strain virus has not popped out of there by now. People are still oblivious to how to guard themselves against exposing themselves to a deadly pathogen because they cannot see it.

I could go on and on, but the mere fact just because something very severe has not yet occurred on a global scale YET, doesn’t mean it is not going to occur. NO ONE saw Fukushima coming, yet it did and is a real problem still. Deepwater Horizon caused the worst oil spill ever, and there still exists a problem down there should there ever be any large enough earthquake activity along the Gulf from the Cocos or Caribbean plates to the south that could rupture that already weakened area wide open. Try millions of barrels of oil coming out in one time rather than 50000 a day.

I truly can understand that you are growing impatient with what you have stored up and cannot understand why something big has not happened YET. I think many people wonder what is the hold up, but it doesn’t deter them from putting away for what is eventually coming. Just look at the idiots after the mass power problems on the east coast waiting for a wrapper full of FEMA food waiting hours in the hot sun like some animal sitting around waiting for feeding time at the zoo.

Something is coming, and I wish I could tell everyone what it is. All I, Mac, and the other people that comment can say as advice is just keep trying to put away for tomorrow. At very least you will get your money’s worth because inflation is something that everyone can be pretty sure of.

          • Awesome post.

        • I for one certainly hope you are right. Just in case I will prepare. Nothing elaborate just enough to get past the first six or eight weeks, if things go to hell anything longer than that it won’t matter.

      27. I don’t think this is off topic; a couple years ago, after I started prepping, I read an account that the govt is mandated, ordered to have 3 days of food, in silos, grain, etc for EVERY household in America in case of a national emergency..
Well, ….it doesn’t..it has none, nada, nil, zero.
My first response was, what am I supposed to do with grain?? duh!!
My next thought went to the billions we send to foreign countries, before storing for our emergencies??
Think about that next time the headline reads…CONGRESS appropriates XXX billion for XXXX!!

      28. “White House switchboard. This is the operator. How may I direct your call?”
‘You guys have an actual operator?! Isn’t that kind of old fashioned? I mean, I expected to press one for english, press two for the bribery division, etcetera. How come you’re still using a live person in that job?’
“It’s been in our union contract since 1951. Our jobs can’t be outsourced. Just like the elevator operators. Now, how may I direct your call?”
‘Oh, uh…I need to talk to someone in the 55% Department.’
        “The what?”
‘The 55% Department. Or maybe it’s called the Department Of The 55%, or The Bureau Of The 55%. Whatever it’s called, it’s that government agency that takes care of you if you have an emergency. You know, the one everybody is counting on? That’s who I’m trying to call.’
“I’m not sure I understand you, sir. To whom, exactly, do you wish to speak?”
‘Heck, I don’t know the guys name! Or if it’s even a guy, could be a woman. But whoever it is, I need to talk to the person who takes care of us in an emergency. THAT’S where I want my call directed. Can you switch me over there? Please? And hurry!’
“I’m sorry, sir, I still don’t know where to send your call. Exactly WHO is it you wish to speak with?”
‘Look! I got an emergency! And I’m a card carrying member of that 55% of Americans who trust the government to bail us out of a jam. Now, please route my call to the Dept Of 55%. And hurry!’
“Oh…..I think I understand you now, sir. Please hold and I’ll direct your call to the appropriate agency. Remember now, don’t hang up. There are lots of calls holding for the 55% Department and you don’t want to lose your place in line.”
‘Oh, I’ll wait allright. Long as I can get some government help. That’s what us 55ers do.’

Operator removes headset and turns to a co-worker. “I got another live one! Just put him on indefinite hold. Say, Jerry, what’s the office record up to now?”
“9 hours. Happened last Thursday. You think you might have a chance with this one?”
“Maybe not a record setter, but I’ll bet he’s good for a couple hours at least…”

        • You are so funny..but this is sooo true!! 9 hours??? must have been California.

        • SmokinOkie; if you resign from ‘finding the the funny side’ of SHTF plan, it will will be a sad, sad day. Mac should pay you for keeping us regulars from just tossing it and going far off the deep end of the pool. Truck safe out on hi-ways ~ there be crazy folk on the by-ways.
Thanks for making me LOL 🙂 spit tea on my keyboard and waking the sleeping DH from his snooze.
          ‘Whatttt?’
‘Nothin’, long story – go back to the nap, I got you covered’.

          • Thanks for the kind words WVITW, but if anything, it is I who should be paying Mac. First, for putting up with my ramblings. And most importantly, for helping me, and many many others, to wake up! I’ve learned more good usable knowledge on self-sufficient living and prepareness here than I could ever repay him for.

        • Ask for Nappy next time, tell the operator you have seen something and want to say something!

      29. IMO it is foolish to assume the government places any priority on looking out for the people pf this country.

They have an agenda of their own, and it is not in the best interest of any of us.

        • But they are “Of the People, For the People and By the People”, right?

        • You don’t believe that Nappy Janet doe’s not love us all. Shame on you. LOL.

      30. They’ll help, all right.

They’re going to help themselves to everything you’ve got, including your daughters.

They’ll make William T. Sherman look like a philanthropist.

      31. some black people are very much aware of the impending disasters looming over the american society’s head and are preparing for them. l’m quite sure that people of all races are included in the prudent who are prepping the best to their ability and the foolish who do not. BCP ( Black Chick Prepping ).

        • yep. Trust me, there are plenty of white people in the south, sitting in there trailers, waiting on thier next welfare check. They’re the 55%

Mindset is the problem, not race

      32. that’s the problem these days.
all the sheep out there cant make t on their own and now think he gov should take care of them threw welfare.
that’s also why we end up with dictators such as obama in office.
they promise to take care of the flock of sheep out there and the sheep vote them into office.

these sheep loose their job or cant find a job because the jobs are now in china or some other low wage country so the sheep so the sheep have kids to suck up the free welfare money and they become welfare dependent.
all that will be gone very soon an all the sheep will be on their own.

that is when riots in the street become wide spread.

      33. Lol, @ the title, 55% thanks i needed a good laugh.

      34. Oh come on people whats the problem? No faith in the gov’t.? Of course the gov’t can manage a major crisis and take care of its citizens. After all look how they’ve handled social security, medicaid, the postal service, national debt and so on.

        • I sense a bit of sarcasm, but you must give credit where credit is due, namely how the federal government did step up and guard our borders after the 911 attacks.

          Oh, wait…

          Nevermind

        • Don’t forget Amtrak, that gravy train with biscuit wheels has kept millions flowing one way since its first run.And now Harry Reid got his high speed/gravy version that will suck money even faster. That is one great Loco-ulterior motive if ya ask me!

      35. “According to that document, the maximum amount of meals that would be provided to FEMA under the contract would be 17.5 million meals”

In a major disaster the distribution system would be down for days if not weeks. Those meals would be worthless if sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

      36. I said it once, I will say it again… Hurricane Katrina was a timing issue. It was the end of the month. People were waiting for their Fed checks & were not/could not leave home without cashing checks.
So, you have this % of people who are not prepared, that cannot ‘make it’ for a week. “Where’s my gov’mint!”

I experienced Hugo 200 miles inland. Without power/water for 8 days. You did not see anyone complaining to the gov’mint. Remember the flood in Des Moines? There was no one hollering for their gov’mint in Iowa. People worked together.

Sounds like a social issue to me, a societal thing. Unfortunate. Charles Barkley once said, ‘Poor people have been voting Democratic for 50 years, and they’re still poor.’ Hopefully, Mitt can get Charles on the trail. Hell, make him VP. Or Shaq, he may be funnier.

      37. This might be a little off topic but in addition to prepping we also need to be in as good of shape as we can. What ever happens will be stressful to say the least and the people that are out of shape are really going to have it tough. I have been reading about vitamin D3 (In amounts above the RDA) it can keep you from getting the flu and can help with repertory illness. I just finished a book by Ray D. Strand, M.D. “What your Doctor Doesn’t know about Nutritional Medicine May Be Killing You”, a lot of good info and Vitamins and Minerals that we need and the amounts way above the RDA (Can’t trust the got to tell you any thing). We are going to have to be healthy and know how to stay that way. Good Luck to all in what is about to come and may God be with you

        • RW: The minimum daily requirement of D3 is less than 400 mg IU. Twenty minutes of sunshine a day during non peak hours will give you 20,000 IU.

Save the buck on the D3 and catch a couple rays by walking back and forth from the barn and hen house in the nude.

Just saying … save the buck by getting buck naked. 🙂

          • If you have early morning leg cramps, get D-3.
It took care of mine and they were quite painful.

      38. 55% huh?

Funny…. 45%…… The same number of the real unemployed in Amerika!

      39. 55%!!!!!…..that’s a lot of stupid people…i don’t have that much ammo…i’d better buy more

      40. Most people will not prep, not because they have “normalcy bias”, or really believe the govt. will help them. It is because they cannot face the truth, and the fear it generates. If you face the truth, the implication is that you must do something about it.

How many of the 55% were in the vid, getting shot with rubber bullets? Most, I’d wager. At least they vaugely aware, that sometimes rubber bullets are not used.

But, still they will not face the truth. The real, hard, cold truth, about how we got into this jam, who is behind it, and what real preperations are being made to deal with them later.

This is another one of those instances that makes me wonder if it’s like this at the tail end of every empire, and the fall of every civilization. All the warning signs and the lessons of history are there before us, still most people just don’t get it.

        • Well said…

So many people have the “it can’t happen here” attitude…they are in for a rude awakening.

          • I know so many like that.

      41. My Husbands ex wife used to be the head of Emergency Management in our small town. She has no food storage and sees no reason to have any, and maybe enough food in the house for a couple weeks. You would think a least she would have a clue that the government won’t be there

        • @ Ranchers wife; not to nit-pick, but you used “government” and “clue” in the same sentence.

      42. This stat shows me that if pushed ….55% will vote liberal Dem for freebies , a car, a home, or as so many minorities said when Bama was elected: I get free SS, electricity et al. Yikes. I always wonder why people continue to build in flood plains when they get their homes, farms blasted and then cry for help…from the rest of us. The same with the dunces who build on earthquake faults or crumbling beach areas. And they cry for….you get it. If one buys insurance against nature’s horrors, I get it. But to expect the rest of us , as under this naif in the WH, to pay for their stupidity, is too much.

      43. rich99: shtf and teotwawki are definitely coming at some point; nobody knows when. the figures in that study should be more like at least 90, maybe 95%. after the balloon goes up, the nonpreppers will pay the ultimate price for their ignorance and stupidity. within the first 30 days of post-shtf, most, if not all of them, willbe history due to starvation, disease, violence, etc. in the meantime, all we can do is keep getting more food, water, water pruification items, medical supplies, ammo, etc. the more we can get between now and shtf, the longer we can survive the nightmare. i’m proud and honored to be part of the 1% that has good heads on their shoulders, can see the writing on the wall, and are getting ready for what’s coming. i’ve tried for many years to convince family and co-workers of what’s coming and to become preppers before the word was even invented, but to no avail. take care and keep prepping.

        • @BH good comment. Same in my neck of the woods. It is funny to see those with the means and education go along ignoring what is going to hit this nation. Some will last two months, but not long afterwords on what they have and are able to buy just when SHTF.

Me and mine are continuing to squirrel away food, guns and ammo and camping/survival gear, lamp oil and gasoline, motor oil and other preps as needed.

We don’t plan on sharing outside the immediate family.

Brother in law is now a HAM operator which will be useful. The rest will divide up the work detail.

      44. I think people dont prep because they just dont believe a full blown collapse could happen here in america. they are too busy working or trying to just pay bills/or the flip side are planning to take their vacation like my fiance when im the one who is prepping and plenty of guns and at least a month of food. im planning on getting more as soon as we get our house in a month or 2. I think thats cutting it close when danger falls out. But overall people are blind and are not survivors and feel like “yea walmart will always be open and getting goods.” wrong truckers will be with their families and not delivering and all will stop. I think people are so smart and so stupid at the same time. Makes you wonder what some of these smart people and dumb ones we went to high school were learing growing up.

        • In school, we were taught to COMPLY to rules, OBEY authorities, TRUST science, and SUBMIT to our betters in Government. It took a bit of real life to get past that. And that was school in the 1950’s. My parents were taught that in the 1930’s. My Grandchildren were taught it in the 2000’s. Public propaganda forever. My Mom still worships Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson. Some never get past the early propaganda.

        • It’s called normalcy bias. When things have been so good for so long the human mind cannot accept that the easy way of living will ever ever change. It is human nature to believe that way. It’s what causes accidents on the job and within twenty five miles of home. Your comfort zone.

      45. All this means is that 55% of the people are brainless
        sheep.

        • Effectivley Brainwashed and Conditioned.

      46. This is because 55% of the country are leftist commie meterosexuals .

      47. Morpheus explains the Matrix to Neo:

“You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so helplessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it.”

        ~ The Matrix

        video clip link to follow…

        • uh oh,Daisy, you brought up the movie that woke me in 1999. I watched it over & over & over over several years. DH thought I’d lost my mind ~ uh, yep – you could say that. All the light came on and I wanted to un-watch it … it’s just a fictional movie – don’t ya know. “umm.huh, you could see it that way”.

Neo: Why do my eyes hurt?
Morpheus: You’ve never used them before.

          • Why, oh why didn’t I take the blue pill!?

        • Great description Daisy, unplugged and inert.

      48. I think FEMA did an experiment with Katrina. They cut off all possible aid and they didn’t let people leave. I think that will be a strategy for big cities after the collapse.

        • Why do I get the notion that FEMA was using the disaster to control the populace, rather than provide relief?

      49. “55 Percent Of Americans Believe That The Government Will Take Care Of Them If Disaster Strikes”

Is this the group of morons who voted for “Hope & Change”?

        • Z! One and the same. You know it.

      50. The fact is, 50 million on food stamps and many more on government assistance. Our society has brainwashed people to the point that they think that its normal for people to freeload off the government.

But, I’m like some others here, only 44%? I think its more like 94%.

…but, I think you’re misreading the statistic: It said 44% have absolutely no preparedness not adequate preparedness. Basically, 66% could have a solitary jar of peanut butter and one bottle of water and the stats would still be technically factual.

As near as I can tell, about 5% of the people I know, in general, have something approaching a sizeable amount of preparedness supplies. Food, fuel, arms, ability to generate power, are all required. I only know a very few that have enough to handle more than 1 month. I could stretch mine to a year but I’d be pretty unhappy at the end of that year. But, I’d be healthy and alive.

Most lack major pieces to get through anything. They may have food but they have no firearms. Or they may have food and firearms but they lack any method to keep themselves warm.

I talk to people but they think I’m being “negative”. I’m not negative. I’m prepped. They simply refuse to think about any of it. Normalcy Bias: it will be the biggest killer during the STHF event.

      51. 50% of the people rely on Gov’t hand outs now. Why wouldn’t they believe that it won’t go on forever. Their food stamp cards get automatically refilled every month like magic, so that they can go spend it at Walmart. That’s all they know. Why would they bother to think beyond that?

      52. Based on my survey of family, friends, customers and the general public, I would have to disagree with 55%. I’m in Florida where people in general are a little better prepared at least 3 months of the year, but I would put the number here as high as 85% think the government will save them.

One very common theme I hear is it won’t happen to me or that can’t happen in America. I pray I’m wrong but every week now we are learning more about another sovereign’s massive amount of debt, another city going bankrupt, fraud throughout the global financial system. Rate fixing, price fixing, manipulation of the gold and silver markets, flat out theft of customer funds seems almost normal. I’m just not seeing the outrage.

We are in a shit storm yet the media has everyone lulled into a feeling of safety and security. It’s classical conditioning, but know one knows what it is anymore.

It’s classic Joseph Goebbels Radio, press and cinema propaganda.

      53. Yeah, my neighbor is one of one of the “gov’t will take care of me and power never goes out-that sort of polemic”.

Last year she came by asking to borrow a plunger for her toilet.

This year she came by to ask for computer help.

I hope she never comes asking for food and protection when thing get unleashed..

      54. I saw this on Stan Deyo, and even if it is not entirely true, it is enough reading this to infuriate anyone that has anything left in them that values freedoms: http://www.newswithviews.com/McGuire/paul135.htm

It basically says that they are going to try to shove through a law that every American is going to be fitted with a RFID microchip implant to further BO health care. I can imagine that it will be a card first, then when they say they can’t make the card function, in it goes into people’s bodies. Whether you believe in the mark of the beast or not, sticking a chip into anyone like some tagged deer or wolf is the final straw towards a total police state.

        • At this rate

.. an RFID chip is the least of my concerns

yet on my list of course.

The joker episode is just a small precursor of what is planned ahead imo..
A catalyst for the other jokers in DC to pass the un small arms treaty for starters
Then another major event to catapult OB 1 CANOBE in a landslide re election come November ..

Once seated again..he will initiate all executive orders and camp fema/rfid/loss of 2nd amendment here we come..

          or as Celente put it..

          last train to Auschwitz!

          possee

      55. Damn, I want some kool-aid. The people who can and don’t prepare, that’s their own fault. I hope most die out quickly for everybody’s sake. The ones that don’t will become extremely scary. People who can’t prepare for whatever reason I feel bad for.I mean the mentally ill, or disabled. Not those who say I don’t have money, then buy crap or eat out. The truly poor.

      56. I knew a lot of people were full of crap, just didn’t realize it was 55%

      57. I wonder how all those folks on Weight Watchers will divvy up those 17,500,000 meals.
That could actually go pretty far for them depending on the total points.

      58. Looks like Darwin’s Theory of Natural Selection may be proven correct.

Don’t help any of those 55% when they find out government has nothing to do with protecting them. It is just a racket designed to extract our wealth for politicians and for those who pull their strings.

      59. FEMA wants 17.5 million meals for ‘continuity of government’ not for the common citizen. =)

      60. You people live in FEAR. Paranoid…the lot of you. What if…What if.. What if…
The world will continue on, you however will not be around long.

        • A little healthy fear is a good thing, but living in denial never is.

        • As you will note by my screen name; I’m Paranoid. But no, I don’t live in fear. I’m also in my 60’s, not really afraid of anything, being dead least of all. I prep for others, and for the opportunity to grind your bones to make my bread. And yes the world will continue without me. Without you, on the other hand, it will be a better place.

      61. I think if TPTB take over and implement marshal law and food rationing, those of us that are somewhat well prepared will show up on their radar pretty quickly because we are not standing in the food line and getting our names checked off along with our neighbors.

“Why aren’t the Jones’s from 123 whatever street coming in to receive their corn mush and water?”.

They will in short order know who can and has the will to fight them and will send a team to “collect”any wayward sheep back to the flock. Until we know what and who to join to fight them, I do believe that if we don’t join the crowd and play along at first when It all goes down, we will be found out and dealt with harshly.

In war,It’s the first wave storming a beach that feels the full brunt of the defender’s wrath. The tenth wave usually can just wade up and walk ashore.

        • Your mistake is: Stand in line for your mush, just take it home and feed it to the dog. There is a time to stand up and be counted and a time to blend in. Rule one: Know your opposition, don’t let him know you.

      62. @Bob R : Normalcy Bias; afraid to look at the future staring you in the face. You, my friend will be one of those caught in the crossfire going home to home asking for hand outs; IF the roving gangs don’t get you first.

      63. MAGNESIUM is the best thing for leg cramps….it’s natures muscle relaxer and will also help you sleep better. Get a high quality magnesium and take it 45 minutes before bedtime. If you are having leg cramps at night chances are you are magnesium deficiant.

( sorry for off topic )

        • I suffered with leg cramps and read a testimonial from a man who had doctor after doctor tell him what to do with no success–a co-worker recommended D-3; it worked after years of suffering.
I began D-3, instant relief; I take them every morning..I stopped for a couple days and cramps returned.
I have D3 stocked with all my medical supplies and meds now.

      64. 55% of Americans believe that the government will care for them when the SHTF? WTF?? Were these people not paying ANY attention when Katrina hit N.O.? What part of the city police running away did they not see? This has GOT to be living proof that 55% of Americans are too dumb to vote.

      65. These are the same a$$clowns that will vote for the Muslim…..AGAIN !

      66. Wow. If 55 MILLION Americans really believe that. We’re done.

The game is rigged. Ok. I get it. I guess we should all just stop following the issues, and responding to them in a timely manner, and throw our hands up in the air in desperation, and do NOTHING. Right? I mean, because WHAT CAN WE DO? DEFEATISM.

Harry Reid may have pulled a supreme Mitt Romney FLIP FLOP on us all, Weds., but, there IS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO!

CONTACT Sen. Harry Reid on H.R. 459′s Passage (327-98) – TODAY!

I did! Here is the text of my message (you may copy/paste in an email to H. Reid):

“I was just informed, that the House voted, 327-98, on H.R. 459, & AUDIT THE ‘FED’ passed! I was also just informed, that ‘Sen. HARRY REID is refusing to put Audit the Fed up for a vote in the Senate.’ And, to ‘Please contact his office today and tell him to support AUDIT THE ‘FED’ and allow for a Senate vote!’

327-98, Senator, is a CLEAR MAJORITY. THE PEOPLE have spoken. Question: Do you represent THE PEOPLE? I noticed, that in 1995, you spoke openly FOR an AUDIT OF THE ‘FED’ – of course, the need for such an audit has not changed since then – why has your stance (on this issue) changed? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fn1u3yDjhN4

CONTACT SEN. HARRY REID TODAY ON THIS ISSUE!

        • Even if they did audit the fed , it would be just for show . Washington is corrupt to the core , they would just move numbers around to make them jive and very few questions would be asked .
