In keeping with the tradition of the FBI’s position on gun rights, it appears the Bureau is working overdrive to monitor and harass gun owners and the gun shops that sell to them.
While government surveillance of gun purchases and gun owners is nothing new, a recent visit by an FBI Counterterrorism agent to a Columbia, South Carolina gun shop has only reinforced the knowledge that the U.S. government is growing more and more concerned by the prospect of a well-armed populace – particularly one that prefers to live without constant government interference in their personal lives.
While the narrative surrounding “counterterrorism” operations used to eviscerate civil liberties after 9/11 was initially based upon the threat of Muslim fundamentalists, that narrative has clearly shifted to a focus on gun owning, law-abiding American citizens – both those who are politically active and those who are blissfully ignorant of current events.
For many, this shift of focus has been quite the surprise. Thus, when the Columbia, South Carolina gun shop in question was approached by an FBI counterterrorism agent on Monday, April 14, the individuals who spoke with him were somewhat alarmed to realize that the agent’s concern was not fundamentalist Muslims but Americans who promote small government.
According to an individual who was present during the visit (this person will remain anonymous for obvious reasons), the agent pulled up in a regular vehicle in plain clothes and took a look around the shop as if he were considering a purchase before approaching the staff and announcing that he was with the FBI Counterterrorism unit.
“Never in a million years would I have thought this guy was a fed,” said the witness. “He was in a completely normal vehicle. Regular clothes. Everything. I would have thought this guy was just some downhome country boy.”
After showing proper identification, the agent told the shop owners that he was tasked with all the gun shops in the general area and that he was charged with investigating “suspicious purchases” in accordance with counterterrorism operations.
The suspicious purchases he mentioned, however, were completely normal transactions. This included, paying with cash, purchasing long guns, and other similarly innocuous behavior.
However, what surprised the owners the most was his statement regarding what he was most interested in tracking.
According to the witness, the agent stated, “If you see some Middle Eastern guy come in. You don’t have to be so worried about that. What we’re really looking for are people talking about being sovereign such as sovereign citizens or people talking about Big Government.”
The agent also mentioned that he had a spreadsheet of all the gun shops in the area.
After this brief chat, the agent left a flyer with the shop that listed some of the more generic and normal behaviors which they were expected to view as suspicious.
Some of these trigger behaviors are:
- Payment in cash or someone else’s credit card.
- Reluctant or unwilling to produce valid I.D.
- Large purchases or unusual inquiries into buying in bulk
- Lack of knowledge involved in firearms or product usage
- Hints at illegal or misuse of explosives
- New or unknown customers
- Nervousness or evasiveness
In the end, while the visit to a local gun shop by an FBI Counterterrorism agent is no surprise, it should serve as a stark reminder that the U.S. government is vastly concerned about a well-armed populace. Gun rights have been gradually eroded in the United States for decades but the assault on gun rights has been ratcheted up to a new level by the Obama administration.
Still, those expecting a public declaration of total gun illegality and martial law confiscation will be wringing their hands in anticipation for a very long time. Of course, while they wring their hands and anticipate the declaration of outright war against gun owners, their guns are being slowly stripped from their hands in an incremental fashion. Slight rule changes and isolated confiscations will continue to take place over time until the public has been properly acclimated to them as a fact of life, at which point the public’s line in the sand will be moved slightly forward once more. Again, the line will be crossed, but only slightly. Eventually, Americans will wake up to find themselves completely disarmed and neutered in a land in which they once believed they were free. At that point, with a completely defenseless population, the thin veneer of freedom will be lifted.
It is time for gun owners and gun rights activists to go on the political offensive. In 2014, it is no longer a legitimate mode of activism to be content to defend your already attenuated freedoms. It is time to make demands. It is time to throw compromise out the window.

We all know spy technology is being used. It is from cameras, small microphones, to iPhones and iPads. But the scary ones are those from nano-technology and drones. Read about the Argus Drone. Also what about those new $100 with that blue strip. How do we know that that is not nanotechnology with GPS and tracking. Also, maybe the blue streak can identify fingerprints. Don’t know, but it is all there. Best to just live an honest lifestyle and not worry too much. But we need to watch them as much as they are watching us.
IF the FBI doesn’t have better things to do with their time than to go watch people talk about and complain about current events than try to hunt down dope dealers, serial perverts, real life criminals, then they should not be call FBI. DUH! Common citizens are not the ones that go out and commit crimes, it is the real criminals. Thanks to the revolving doors of the law system maniacs like those two serial killers that raped women and then killed them are on the streets. Those two demons had ankle bracelets on and should have never been let loose.
Come on FBI or any other law enforcement, these are the criminals that need to be watched like a hawk. How many of these career criminals are the ones that commit the crimes? It sure as hell AIN’T the person that enjoys the 2nd Amendment and preserving the rest of the Constitution. How much deep suffering is there because law enforcement is going out goblin hunting on regular good citizens instead of going after hard core on the REAL bad guys, especially on those with pages long criminal records? US: The government hasn’t taken Rancher’s Property yet, but they will and it will serve Rancher Bundy right for grazing his herd on Taxpayer land for 20 years without payment. That’s called theft.

There have been a lot of people criticizing Clive Bundy because he did not pay his grazing fees for 20 years. The public is also probably wondering why so many other cowboys are supporting Mr. Bundy even though they paid their fees and Clive did not. What you people probably do not realize is that on every rancher’s grazing permit it says the following: “You are authorized to make grazing use of the lands, under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Land Management and covered by this grazing permit, upon your acceptance of the terms and conditions of this grazing permit and payment of grazing fees when due.” The “mandatory” terms and conditions go on to list the allotment, the number and kind of livestock to be grazed, when the permit begins and ends, the number of active or suspended AUMs (animal units per month), etc. The terms and conditions also list specific requirements such as where salt or mineral supplements can be located, maximum allowable use of forage levels (40% of annual growth), etc., and include a lot more stringent policies that must be adhered to. Every rancher must sign this “contract” agreeing to abide by the TERMS AND CONDITIONS before he or she can make payment. In the early 90s, the BLM went on a frenzy and drastically cut almost every rancher’s permit because of this desert tortoise issue, even though all of us ranchers knew that cow and desert tortoise had co-existed for a hundred+ years. As an example, a family friend had his permit cut by 90%. For those of you who are non ranchers, that would be equated to getting your paycheck cut 90%. In 1976 there were approximately 52 ranching permittees in this area of Nevada. Presently, there are 3. Most of these people lost their livelihoods because of the actions of the BLM. Clive Bundy was one of these people who received extremely unfair and unreasonable TERMS AND CONDITIONS. Keep in mind that Mr. Bundy was required to sign this contract before he was allowed to pay. Had Clive signed on the dotted line, he would have, in essence, signed his very livelihood away. And so Mr. Bundy took a stand, not only for himself, but for all of us. He refused to be destroyed by a tyrannical federal entity and to have his American liberties and freedoms taken away. Also keep in mind that all ranchers financially paid dearly for the forage rights those permits allow – – not rights to the land, but rights to use the forage that grows on that land. Many of these AUMS are water based, meaning that the rancher also has a vested right (state owned, not federal) to the waters that adjoin the lands and allow the livestock to drink. These water rights were also purchased at a great price. If a rancher cannot show beneficial use of the water (he must have the appropriate number of livestock that drinks and uses that water), then he loses that water right. Usually water rights and forage rights go hand in hand. Contrary to what the BLM is telling you, they NEVER compensate a rancher for the AUMs they take away. Most times, they tell ranchers that their AUMS are “suspended,” but not removed. Unfortunately, my family has thousands of “suspended” AUMs that will probably never be returned. And so, even though these ranchers throughout the course of a hundred years invested thousands(and perhaps millions) of dollars and sacrificed along the way to obtain these rights through purchase from others, at a whim the government can take everything away with the stroke of a pen. This is the very thing that Clive Bundy singlehandedly took a stand against.

McFrolie: Thanks for the info, but it doesn’t change anything. Rancher Bundy stopped paying his grazing lease in 1993. The Ninja Turtle issue did not develop until five years later.
Is the turtle issue bogus? Yes. It’s the spotted owl in a shell. But that doesn’t change the fact that Rancher Bundy stopped paying his grazing lease and vacated his lease, five years before it became an issue. Five fucking years.
As far as changing the forage ratio, it may have become necessary to protect the land. Do we want a Dust Bowl in Nevada? Nevada is already a desert. It can only sustain so much life. Do we want the wind to blow Nevada into Denver the way the Gobi blows into Beijing? A little conservation goes a long way.
The government SHOULD protect OUR public lands against unscrupulous ranchers who would allow their herds to eat the forage down to the desert, and criminal miners who would dump their waste chemicals into OUR rivers and streams. The West has been in a drought for decades. A dryer, cooler West was predicted by Dr. Browning in the late seventies, early eighties. There is not enough new growth to maintain the old forage ratios, because there is not enough new water.

I feel for the farmers and ranching families that are displaced by climate change. The climate IS changing because the Poles are moving, have moved. Everyone must adapt. When engineers lost their livelihood in the early ’80s and the slogan was, “last one out of Seattle, please turn out the lights” I didn’t see or hear ranchers lamenting their demise. When American factories were systematically offshored, I didn’t see or hear ranchers lamenting the loss of American jobs.
Why should The Taxpayer compensate ranchers for the AUMS they take away, or the percentage of forage that the cattle may not eat? That is simply ridiculous. Grazing on Taxpayer Lands is a privilege, NOT a God given right. The BLM is not exercising Eminent Domain to strip the rancher of property that they legally own; they are saying” The People’s Land must rest. The People’s land must recover from your use.”
It is the secular equivalent of the Principle of the Sabbath. Have you ever heard of the “Jubilee Year”? Rancher Bundy should give it a rest and so should all of his deluded supporters who want to construct every conceivable excuse to support a trespasser and thief.

Having seen all of the videos of the “incidents” of late, I am disgusted by BOTH sides in this total goat rope. Neither the BLM nor the Bundy Clan has anything remotely resembling clean skirts. The BLM on the District-Federal level is trying to make this into another political blood bath for their own purposes and the purposes of their puppet-masters in D.C.
The Bundy Clan, by their own admission, have not paid any fees to any governmental entity since 1993, so by their own admission for the last 21 years or so, Farmer Bundy has been reaping the “benefit” of “free grazing” on federally controlled land. (like it or not-that is NOT the issue here-YET) Bundy’s Clan and many supporters of his recorded in the now viral videos, are professed members of my own faith, and they have acted deplorably and in no way represent MY religion at all. Their behavior was disgusting. I just have to chime in here because I keep hearing that this is all about the money that Bundy has not rightfully payed us taxpayers and the righteous BLM AKA Washington government is only trying to collect a debt owed to us hard working taxpayers.
If we take just some basic numbers here, lets try and figure out how much they are spending every day this boondoggle goes on at the Bundy ranch… One BLM hired hand I would say is making what???

They start out at gs-5 pay which is 27,700 all the way up to gs-13 at step 10 (whatever that means) to 94,100. so if we just take an average (and who believes that they didn’t ship in the highest pay graders for this little fun activity?)
lets just say an average was 50,000 per year per gestapo member. and we think there were around 2-300 in attendance with more showing up as we speak according to the reports I am seeing. And this has went on now for 3 weeks, give or take, at this level of insanity.
Now, I only took consumers math in high school but I get
50,000 is about 25 bucks an hour (no overtime figured) x average 250 agents x 21 days = 131,250 in just pay for the onsite players.
Then throw in sniper teams, rent a drones flyers, satellite adjustment operators and oh I almost forgot lassie and rin tin tin handler’s and I would guess it is well over 250,000 in just pay for all the on and off site players.
Now start adding in all assets,they counted over 80 suvs when the BLM left the bridge underpass standoff. fuel for those is what 100 bucks a tank at 3.89 a gallon that is $80,000, then you got lodging, at 60 bucks a night would be if double with two per room 60 x 125 x 21 nights rotating teams for 24 hour coverage = $158,760. food for hungry Burly men,3 squares a day x 21 days (cause it takes a lot of energy to taze and throw grannies dontcha know),another say what 20 a day x 250 x 21 = $105,000
And this is probably a very low guess as to all the expenses, cause you and I know the government will spend like drunken sailors when they are at “work” and writing it off as work expense.
So I can see this “operation” coming close to or by now over the money owed by Bundy, even if you use the government Gorilla math of 1 million in fines and fees instead of the $300,000 that Bundy claims and did pay to the local government.
So I say that the government owes us “hardworking taxpayers” an explanation why they just blew all our owed grazing fee money to try and collect, and still dont have any money yet? I say stop spending a dollar to save a dime already…

You have to be a govt. shill the way you keep hitting the same points. They are doing to Bundy the same thing they are doing to the farmers in Calif. and they did a few years ago in Klamath Falls. Breaking an agreement and keeping water that the farmers own. Same thing with Bundy when they started violating the terms of the agreement under which he paid grazing fees. My co-workers on the Chicago pd and I used to laugh at the feebies. There is a reason they have highest death rate in federal law enforcement. They put guns and badges into the hands of attorneys and accountants then send then into the big city and tell them to be the police. They have no training or skill to do police work which is why they get injured so often in the line of duty. We use to say… FBI stood for forever bothering Italians or forever bungling investigations. Take your pick. I’ve never seen such incompetence in investigations in my police career. The only thing good I can say is that their evidence crime labs and scientists are top notch. The agents are a bad joke.

Preppers here are a finicky, an enigmatic group, Anonymous. On one hand, they are extremely patriotic and stand tall with the Constitution, willing to even die for the cause, if need be; admirable qualities. But then, on the other hand, while Vets probably comprise a large percentage of SWAT team members, participating in over 80,000 raids a year in America (often times ruthlessly punishing law abiding citizens), and more than likely, almost all of those standing against the Constitution in Bunkerville in their SWAT uniforms and sniper rifles, siding with the corporate fascists, it bewilders me to see how veterans are perceived here, most often seen as the good guys. Why you are getting so many thumbs down by telling a truth that is often overlooked, or considered politically incorrect to acknowledge, shows how mentally/emotionally divided, even preppers are, about who are “really” the good guys and who are the bad guys. It is a “right is wrong” and “wrong is right” world we now live in today, hard it discern who is the enemy and who isn’t.
There are amazingly great veterans out there, but more and more of them (younger ones) are siding with the dark side, and that is creating a very volatile and dangerous environment for all Americans, especially those who see what’s coming.
PS Your delivery might want to be toned down, next time, for your message to be more effective. On the other hand, I tend to agree with your overall point of view. The one thing that many of the talking heads don’t grasp is life on ranches in the western US. Many people living in the major cities (Salt Lake, Denver, Phoenix, Spokane, etc.) in the western US don’t understand it either. Most people don’t understand where their food comes from. They don’t grasp it because of the complexities created by mixed land ownership (federal, state, and private). They don’t grasp multiple agencies having a say over how the land should be managed or used. My point being that Hannity, Greta, and Cavuto, the people you mentioned, just don’t get “it”.
Hannity is a multi millionaire who lives on Long Islands Gold Coast and has no idea of trying to ranch in the Nevada desert. Just driving through it in the Summer is depressing.

Actually there isn’t a over abundance of cash paper money. Granted the Mint prints 24 X7. However paper money quickly wears out. So lots of paper money is burned every day. Most of the newly printed cash is dollar bills. Now If the mint starts printing paper valued in excess of $100.00 then look out. Most of the trillions of dollars in debt exist on paper documents like a home mortgage ect. The banks don’t have a lot of cash on hand. If a 100 depositers went in to most banks and each wanted to withdraw a $1000.00 from their accounts most banks would run short of cash.

THE USA BRASS RAID ON BOZEMAN WAS TO OBTAIN THE NAMES OF 10,000 RELOADERS AND GUN OWNERS USING BOGUS CHARGES
Most of you will be aware that armed employees of the EPA and FBI recently conducted an armed raid on a company in Bozeman that recycles used cartridge brass. This email is to give you additional information that was not in the news about that, to tell you what I’ve been doing concerning the raid, and to prepare you to help with the next step.
Several months ago, OSHA visited the business, USA Brass, because of allegations of workplace safety issues, notably lead dust in the air from tumbling fired brass (the lead dust would be from primers). There were two employees who had lead levels above what is acceptable. As a result, USA Brass invested a lot of money in expensive air filtration and ventilation equipment, and upgraded employee training and practices. As a result, USA Brass passed a subsequent inspection by OSHA.
However, upon OSHA’s first visit, I’m told, USA Brass managers didn’t kneel quickly enough to OSHA inspectors and offended them by not being subserviently cooperative. So, the subsequent raid by EPA, FBI and others was conducted to teach them a lesson about federal power and proper cooperation.
I have yet to learn if the federal entry was conducted with guns drawn, but that will come out. Many, if not all, of the federal employees were visibly armed (thanks to the local TV station for covering this). The federal employees were aided and abetted by personnel from the Bozeman Police Department and the Gallatin County Sheriffs Office.
Upon arrival, the federal employees forced all the employees into a room or rooms where they were isolated and held for hours. The employees cell phones were confiscated so they could have no communication out of the building. The feds disabled all of the security cameras in the building so there would be no video record of the federal deeds or misdeeds. The feds confiscated and took away all laptop computers and external hard drives, and copied all desktop hard drives, including USA Brass’s contact information for 10,000 customers.
I see this as a Montana version of what’s happening in Nevada. And, I see no reason to put up with it. None!
What is known about the Bozeman raid presents more questions than it answers. I put those questions in a polite letter to the U.S. Attorney for Montana and asked him to look into it. He has not responded. I assume my very polite request went into his round file.
With no response from the U.S. Attorney, I redirected my request for an investigation to Montana Attorney General Tim Fox. That request, which includes the request to the U.S. Attorney, is pasted below for your information. I’ve had no response from Fox yet.
If I don’t get a response from AG Fox by Tuesday (actually, later today as I write this at 2 AM), I’ll turn up the heat.
One additional tidbit: Lawyers for USA Brass have persuaded the principals that they should hunker down and make no waves, for fear of triggering more Draconian and punitive federal actions. While I sympathize with USA Brass, frankly this posture strikes me as similar to advising Jews in pre-WWII Germany to not make any fuss over their neighbors being hauled away in the night by the Gestapo, for fear that the remaining neighbor might be executed right in his apartment then next night by the same Gestapo, rather than just being given a nice train ride to an undisclosed destination.

Actually the Second Amendment is one of the few places that we have not only held our own but for lack of a better term obtained some victories. The state by state adoption of “Shall Issue” along with a USSC clarification of the wording of the Second Amendment were only dreamed about 25 years ago.
The above being said the public has “taken it on the chin” pretty much across the board regarding the rest of the Bill Of Rights.
The above infer’s that either the Second Amendment supporters have political cohesion and sufficient numbers to thwart encroachment or TPTB don’t desire their goal regarding this bad enough. It also infer’s that the demise of the rest of the Bill of Rights has fragmented or insufficient opposition or that TPTB want it badly enough to get their way regardless of the political blowback.
The way I see it, TPTB are uber-rich oligarchs, using their money and ours to destroy us, in a financial system of their making. No matter how many lives are lost, we will never be free until we destroy THEIR financial system. That means that their system must have no power over our lives.
We are going to have to give up the pursuit of financial system gains, and the use of fiat money.

This battle is close to me heart. I recently lost everything I owned to the Social Security Admin. I was the registered owner of $400,000 historical residential property. BIG FLAW IN FBI INVESTIGATION
The FBI should be investigating the 30 or so surrounding once BLM properties that somehow ended up in Senator Dirty Harry REID’s land banks. Including the 92 acre piece adjoining Cliven Bundy’s Ranch and his Virgin River Water Rights.
