In simulated World War III scenarios, the U.S. continues to lose against Russia and China, two top war planners warned last week. “In our games, when we fight Russia and China, blue gets its ass handed to it” RAND analyst David Ochmanek said Thursday.

RAND’s wargames show how US Armed Forces – colored blue on wargame maps – experience the most substantial losses in one scenario after another and still can’t thwart Russia or China – which predictably is red – from accomplishing their objectives: annihilating Western forces.

“We lose a lot of people. We lose a lot of equipment. We usually fail to achieve our objective of preventing aggression by the adversary,” he warned.

In the next military conflict, which some believe may come as soon as the mid-2020s, all five battlefield domains: land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace, will be heavily contested, suggesting the U.S. could have a difficult time in achieving superiority as it has in prior conflicts.

The simulated war games showed, the “red” aggressor force often destroys U.S. F-35 Lightning II stealth fighters on the runway, sends several Naval fleets to the depths, destroys US military bases, and through electronic warfare, takes control of critical military communication systems. In short, a gruesome, if simulated, annihilation of some of the most modern of US forces.

“In every case I know of,” said Robert Work, a former deputy secretary of defense with years of wargaming experience, “the F-35 rules the sky when it’s in the sky, but it gets killed on the ground in large numbers.”

So, as Russia and China develop fifth-generation fighters and hypersonic missiles, “things that rely on sophisticated base infrastructures like runways and fuel tanks are going to have a hard time,” Ochmanek said. “Things that sail on the surface of the sea are going to have a hard time.”

“That’s why the 2020 budget coming out next week retires the carrier USS Truman decades early and cuts two amphibious landing ships, as we’ve reported. It’s also why the Marine Corps is buying the jump-jet version of the F-35, which can take off and land from tiny, ad hoc airstrips, but how well they can maintain a high-tech aircraft in low-tech surroundings is an open question,” said Breaking Defense.

Meanwhile, speaking purely hypothetically of course, “if we went to war in Europe, there would be one Patriot battery moving, and it would go to Ramstein. And that’s it,” Work complained. The US has 58 Brigade Combat Teams across the continent but doesn’t have anti-air and missile-defense capabilities required to handle a barrage of missiles from Russia.

RAND also war-gamed cyber and electronic attacks in the simulations, Work said; Russia and China tend to cripple US communication networks.

“Whenever we have an exercise and the red force really destroys our command and control, we stop the exercise,” Work said without a trace of humor. Beijing calls this “system destruction warfare,” Work said. They aim to “attack the American battle network at all levels, relentlessly, and they practice it all the time.”

The Air Force asked RAND to formulate a plan several years ago to improve the outcomes of the wargames in favor of the US, Ochmanek said. “We found it impossible to spend more than $8 billion a year” to fix the problems.

“That’s $8 billion for the Air Force. Triple that to cover for the Army and the Navy Department (which includes the US Marines),” Ochmanek said, “and you get $24 billion.”

Work was less concerned about the near-term risk of war, and he said, China and Russia aren’t ready to fight because their modernization efforts have not been completed. He said any major conflict is unlikely for another 10 to 20 years from now.

He said “$24 billion a year for the next five years would be a good expenditure” to prepare the military for World War III.

RAND offers a sobering assessment that America could lose a multi-front war in the future, which is quite shocking considering that the US spent nearly three times as much as the second biggest war power, China, did in 2017.

With the defense budget stuck around $700 billion per annum for the remainder of President Trump’s term, America’s Warhawks are inciting fear through simulated wargames with one purpose only: demand more taxpayers’ money for war spending.

  1. I believe it because they said it.
I believe it because the picture shows me.
I’m worried because I’m told I should be.

      JRS

      Yep

John F Kennedy ran on several issues one being the “missile gap”. During the Cuban missile crisis the CIA reported that the Soviets has about 400 missiles. Air Force “intelligence” estimated that they had upwards of 1000; in reality they had 4.

MIC can’t get ever increasing funds without a “credible” threat. If one doesn’t exist they create it. If one does exist they embellish it. We sit and watch the greatest performances of mankind acting ability including special effects sold as with news. Communists were rank thuggish amateurs in deception by comparison. “All the world is a stage” said William Shakespeare. He had no idea that his words were prophecy.

RAND corp IS THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX that president Eisenhower and John F Kennedy warned you about.

Go to youTube. look up RAND corporation “rat” lines.
      Self explanatory and sickening.

Russia-China would likely win war if against “know” forces and weapons systems, suprise launch. But that is NOT what they face.

The Unkown weapon systems the USA has, are near demonic in destructive capabilities. Terrifying. Billions would die. Total destruction of the attacking enemy. Their nation would be gone. Understand that? Gone.

Take everything you think you know. Then advance your imagination 75 years forward. That is the real true level of technology.
Those are also the “real” weapons that would be used if USA were Pearl Harbor sneak attacked by Russia-China.

That is why you don’t pick a fist fight with a unkown.
(A wise man avoids ALL Fights-Confrontations, when out in the world. No road rage, No starting trouble, keep a cool head.)
You might be tough, trained, a real warrior.
But the unkown potential victim, does not play at your level of using fists. He quickly pulls a gun and empties his magazine in your stupid ass, reloads, empties that magazine just because he has it.

      Don’t Start-Pick fights or war:
      Rule: Don’t start fights.
      Rule: Don’t start wars.

You never know what you “Don’t” expect or know.

Fear sells. (Fear even entertains some people here.)
      Fear brings hasty choices.
      Fear brings poor judgment.
Fear also drives weak people to act rashly without fully understanding ENTIRE consequences of their poor choice.

“Fear also makes the calm-prepared-ready man money.”

      NEVER FEAR.

Kevin2, the defense budget gets increased every year but what do they have to show for it? All 4 branches of the services are running seriously short of manpower. The Navy just recently had to cancel 2 overseas deployments because of manpower shortages. The Army has the worst manpower shortage because of all the budget cuts under Obama. He reduced the amount of enlisted peronnel, not to mention the generals and lower ranking officers he kicked out. They’re all too short on manpower and equipment to do anything. Even if all of our troops were brought back from overseas it still wouldn’t be enough to defend the homeland. The US would lose WW3 in just a matter of minutes. The only weapons we still have a lot of are NUKES and no one even wants to think about that one.

    • CA Rebel says:

Maybe true. But America still has us. And we the people will stand for her defense. We could accidently put the demturds on the front line, too.

      • Genius says:

HA! WISE FOODS IS BEING SUED AND GAVE UP THE BUYERS INFO! That piece of shit company and their garbage food is gettin slammed lol. Hope none of you bought that crap because thats what it is… CRAP. Check it out at the daily sheeple…

        • I figured the sheeple was long gone after the repeated periods of inactivity last year. I’ve never bothered going back.

Wise has always been about high-sodium/low value foods in small portions combined with VERY high pressure sales pitch so this comes as little surprise.

If you buy storable foods, Mountain House and Honeyville are the only two real options on the market.

        • The Deplorable Renegade says:

Genius, I sampled some Wise food once and got sick from it. I’m a Mountain House fan myself. Not a good sign that they’re giving up buyers’ information. How do we know that won’t happen to their competitors?

    • Kevin2 says:

” Even if all of our troops were brought back from overseas it still wouldn’t be enough to defend the homeland. ”

Are you implying that the US can be invaded? With just conventional weapons thats impossible as no one can cross that ocean unscathed. The US has global “responsibilities” far above defending the nation. It isn’t a matter of too few people or too little equipment but rather too much ground to cover. The US with 800 bases worldwide has an unmatched global reach; all other powers are regional. With that in mind, using conventual weapons both China and Russia dominate those areas they can walk to.

In the end the greatest instrument of peace, far above any agreement or treaty (which really are worthless) are nuclear weapons. They keep wars small or non existent. They’ll only be used if hostilities erupt from nuclear armed nation that fear a first strike; It becomes “use them or loose them”. Putting nuclear weapons upon a potential adversary’s borders is reckless and destabilizing; it limits options that are badly needed to prevent Armageddon.

  3. rellik says:

I have always pointed out that most people are fighting the last war and not paying attention to the next war. Some things like Sun Tzu “Art of War” are timeless, but that is a book on human nature more than warfare. US will lose because we won’t face the fact that we have an internal enemy and our system will not allow us to eliminate it, that makes us weak, and Nature kills weak things.
I’m not willing to support a system that takes stupid idiots( AKA Democrats) and turns them into soap, but our enemies are more than willing to do that, so we will lose.
You cannot fix stupid, and we have to live with 100 million(give or take a few)of them.
I’ll live a full life going over the usual bumps, but I’m old and I suspect the people that follow me will suffer greatly because I did not kill the internal enemy.

  4. The Deplorable Renegade says:

US will get its ass handed to it in a REAL war, never mind the simulation.

  5. Bonefortoona says:

All of these simulations result in a Kobiashi Mary scenario. They are not meant to give the USA military a warm fuzzy, they are meant to explore every operational option. It would scare me if the US military came out and said,”our computer says we will be victorious in any situation.” Would it not ?

  6. Comanche says:

Our enemies might sting the USA hard in a sneak attack, but the USA would thrash their asses like a red headed step child. They would be returned back to the neolithic age…

    • C

Repeat after me …. Dien … Bien Phu

US forces would necessarily be forward deployed. MaoMart and Vladville ? Nyet. US forces in the eastern Med and Arabian Sea are toast ( Sunburn Yakhonts, et al ) Expeditionary forces in AfriCom and MENA are toast. The logistical tail needed to keep shooters in action is incredibly complicated.

The US needs AWACs …. bad guys will simply target that capability, and oh yeah! tankers.

If US mil goes nuke, so does the oppo. Some of our devices are 30+ years old. Maintenance needs to happen.

The Russian and Chinese people are not our enemies.

Guess who is the enemy ? THAT is a productive thought experiment.

  7. Dave says:

Hum … that aligns with the prophesies as well. Remember the prophesies of the president. This is the last president. Prophesy after prophesy sees America destroyed by Russia and China and many other countries that join against us. Probably the next demonrat takeover. The scariest is the Bible. Oh, but America isn’t mentioned in the Bible. Are you sure of that? People all over the country are having dreams and visions. The Bible tells us God gives people dreams and visions in the last days. George Washington’s dream is uncanny as well. He sees the last war that almost destroys us entirely. We aren’t talking 1 or two, or a dozen, or dozens. Hundreds are documented.

  8. We are getting our “asses handed to us” already. We have been being genocides. Genocide is not only accomplished by obvious murdering. Although in the final stage murders do occur and if we don’t prevent them from turning us into a small gated minority, we will be murdered. The Russians are not the problem.

    .

    • Honeypot, exactly right.

    • repr sleepr says:

Yep Babies being killed and organs sold for profit everyday. Chicago is a war zone, Cow flatulence created every time Nancy Pelosi opens her jowls. Illegals flowing across the southern border. I say they ought to put up a huge billboard on the Mex side of the wall of Nancy Pelosi in a negligee and minus her facial putty. That should keep the cockroaches out.

  9. Doesn’t it kind of depend where the war would be fought? No, the US is not going to invade China and Russia and win.

Then again, China or Russia are not going to invade the US and win.

Invading a country half way around the world with a huge land mass and large citizenry has not and will not ever work. Of course any of these countries have the weapons to make sure all of humanity loses. Insanity reigns,as world leaders think they can win another world war.

    • Old Guy says:

China and Russia could deploy a EMP bomb and we would lose. and even if we nuked Russia. we still will lose. Putin stated if the is no Russia what good is the rest of the World? At the end of WWII the US Navy had over 6000 ships we have about 600 now.the military troops and losers queers and dumbasses. any one who voluntarily joins the military to be cannon fodder for the UN and NWO is a Dumb ass. The USA barely won WWII if not for Russia we would not have defeated Germany.

  10. Frank Thoughts says:

The Pentagon knows full well the US loses in all war scenarios but the following:

    1) The country is weak and/or third world

    2) US has a coalition of allies that provide cover for the conflict

    3) The conflict is low and slow and breaks the target country down

The US would lose in an invasion scenario of the continental US because any actor who would do that will trigger massive and devastating attacks on civilian infrastructure beforehand. The riots and unrest alone would tie up US forces while the overseas bases are first attacked and picked off one by one. An invading force would then face a US in civil war and unable to bring in reinforcements from overseas. Victory goes to China and Russia.

    • jakartaman says:

Unless our Military is harden against emp’s and other electronic killers than we are already defeated.
Nukes placed in satellites and detonated over the USA – Wait for the population to die and walk in.
      Cheap efficient and easy.
Even if our military is hardened, the chaos that an EMP attack would cause would hamper the military because military resources would be required to control and manage the population.
The only reason this is not happened is because Russia and china know we would reciprocate in kind. But Iran, Pakistan, NOKO – would have no problem.

  11. Abaddon says:

Even if the US does increase spending to defend their command & control electronics, the Chinese will either steal it by hacking or some greedy traitor on the inside will steal it for them.

    • thats been their well documented plan since the 1980’s. the chicoms are in the long fight to be the sole, dominant superpower by any means necessary

      • Frank Thoughts says:

So true. What is happening right now is what happened to the Soviet Union. The Chinese are just waiting for the US to bankrupt itself with Defense spending while letting its infrastructure and population decay and fall apart.

Look at the state of the US compared to China. In China, infrastructure is 21st century – maglev trains, super fast everything, etc. The population is heavily educated and most importantly, they have a vast population of hot, very beautiful, well dressed women. That’s a huge strategic advantage in peace and war.

What does the US have? People homeless, living in trailer parks, n@ggers in ghettos, obese women waddling around and violent, moron youth who attack each other in fast food joints.

        • ronna says:

What a load of crap! You must live in SF! Try living in a conservative state and all that shit you spewed is moot!

          • Norrak says:

Ronna, Frank is always spewing this crap…… he always brings beautiful foreign women VS fat ugly American women into the equation, which anyone with a brain knows this has nothing to do with defense of a country. Europe had a lot of beautiful women, and there was still wars and America won. There are still a lot of beautiful women in USA, Frank probably just can’t get any of them D/T his attitude.

  12. Bert says:

America owes no responsibility to defend any foreign nation.

When a shithole country full of deadbeat cowardly men refuse to fight for their nation, or fight against their corrupt government, then these worms ought to be happy with the government they receive. Instead these cowardly men +invade+ the USA and Europe for entitlements, obey no laws and suck the taxpayer dry consuming trillions of dollars in services and yet do absolutely nothing in return.

This war study is as valid as a nutritional study that finds milk chocolate as a health food, funded by Nestle and The National Association of Corn Syrup, for which it stands.

Read between the lines, someone wants to scare the taxpayer into spending trillions more on the latest version of the Nuclear Playtex slingshot.

  13. southside says:

Read the damn report. We get our asses handed to us because we had/have no anti missle defenses to protect our landing forces. And little manpower. Who the hell wants to enlist in an army w/trannies,gays,and touchy feely commanders. West Point recently had a ‘Gay Weekend’,Naval overseas ports are having Gay Pride Parades. Who the hell wants to enlist in that?

  14. Concerned Citizen says:

I feel the U.S. is an absolute, Massive TRAIN WRECK folks. Where to even begin. About 50% of the population is utterly worthless and fully-blown left-wing retard. The vile, sneaky ditch crickets and sand-apes walk, yes WALK right across the landscape and illegally INVADE, yes invade the damn country and we don’t really do Jack about it. The Right talks the talk but does not walk the walk and do anything pertaining to the vile, violent bunch of chimps known as the demonRATS. Massive, steaming pile of Feces!! Just step in it now & get it over with. And why do you think they want our damn guns so badly – right, so when we are “attacked” we are left with nothing to defend ourselves and fight back, boom, the fat lady sang, “That’s ALL FOLKS”

  15. Old Guy says:

Three EMP Bombs and that’s all folks. The USA has lost in a matter of seconds. those countinuation of government folks will retrete into their underground bunkers. And they do actually have bunkers. My Weather is just one. Get on U Tube and View the national geographic video on EMP. and view some others.

  16. Chet Manley says:

In any of those simulations they did not nuke Tibet.. So check and mate, China is out.

  17. TheGuy says:

You realize of course they plan to create chaos here, let our own military soften up our own rioting population (basically do their job for them), and then roll tanks over us.

Solution: total global blackmail. If our grid goes you eat nukes. If a civil war breaks out you eat nukes. You better fucking pray everything’s good for us or you eat nukes. Getting the picture?

  18. America does not trumpet about our weapon systems. There are lots of classified weapons and weapon systems the average person has no idea of what the USA could turn loose on an aggressor.😀

  19. you can use the latest advancements to keep up with the growing range of threats and remain fully secure, no matter where your work takes you. With lighter and better fitting equipment, you can be clad in body armor for critical situation.
