Trump Administration To Release Obama-Era Fast And Furious Documents

We may finally get some answers to the high-level Obama administration’s gun-running scandal dubbed “Fast and Furious.”  The Trump administration is promising to release the documents pertaining to that scandal that were withheld by former Attorney General, Eric Holder.

Operation Fast and Furious was the Obama-era operation in coordination with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) in which the federal government allowed criminals to buy guns in Phoenix-area shops with the intention of tracking them as they were transported into Mexico. But the agency lost track of more than 1,400 of the 2,000 guns they allowed smugglers to buy.

“For over six years, the House Oversight Committee has fought for additional documents related to Operation Fast and Furious. Today, the Committee finally reached a conditional settlement with the Department of Justice,” Amanda Gonzalez, spokeswoman for the House Oversight Committee, said in a statement to Fox News. “The Committee seeks all relevant facts so we can learn from the mistakes made by the Justice Department. We have a responsibility to uncover why they worked so hard to hide this information from the Committee, the family of [slain border patrol agent] Brian Terry, and the American people.”

Brian Terry was killed in 2010 by an illegal immigrant with a weapon used in the botched Operation Fast and Furious. Terry died in a gunfight between Border Patrol agents and members of a six-man cartel “rip crew,” which patrolled the desert along the U.S.-Mexico border looking for drug dealers to rob. The cartel member suspected of killing Terry was apprehended in 2017.

Terry’s brother, Kent Terry also wants the scandal investigated.

“We need to find out the truth, exactly what happened, how it happened, why it happened,” Kent Terry said on Fox & Friends Tuesday. “We need Mr. Trump, President Trump, to unseal the documents, reverse executive privilege so that we know what happened, and that we can hold the people accountable that are responsible.”

According to Fox News, the Justice Department entered into a conditional settlement agreement with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The settlement agreement was filed in federal court in Washington D.C. and ends six years of litigation arising out of the previous administration’s refusal to produce records requested by the committee.

“The Department of Justice under my watch is committed to transparency and the rule of law,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement Wednesday. “This settlement agreement is an important step to make sure that the public finally receives all the facts related to Operation Fast and Furious.

The White House has yet to release an official statement on the Justice Department’s settlement.

Holder wants to run for president in 2020. Treasonous bastard.

    • Menzoberranzan says:

Holder and Obama need to share a very small cell for a very long time.

      • norrak says:

NO, they need to be hung or tortured. What purpose did tracking these guns serve? There’s more to this than you’re being told.

        • Kfilly says:

it was for arming the cartels with the added benefit of attacking the Second Amendment. I am also pretty sure the government did not lose track of anything they doled out as those weapons went to who they were supposed to go to. Part of the CIA is a drug smuggling operation. They wanted their clients well taken care of. Also, HSBC bank is a money laundering agency for terrorists and cartel members. I am also sure they wanted their cartel clients to be armed. Now, I find it funny the Mexican cartels have access to US made real assault style weapons. Hmmmm. Wonder how that happen? Any ideas Uncle Scam?

      • Genius says:

Ya as long as YOU pay for it. I would just kill them and call it a day.

      • Heartless says:

I agree with locking them up. Release the documents, lock up the traitors. Set them to trial, publicly carry out the verdict on live televison and internet streaming. I want to see them pay. Simple as that. I want them to pay for what they attempted to do my/our country. And any funds they may’ve secreted away, banked, invested should be returned to the American people. Their wives, familes and children are fully capable of work and supporting themselves. They should gain nothing from the crimes of their fathers/spouses.

Offhand, this sounds like another case of getting one’s hopes up only to have them dashed when nothing happens again.

belongs in camps, we might put them there.
    Democrats are our enemy.

  5. Upstate New Yorker says:

last I heard Holder was Special Counsel for Immigration for the State of California – could be interesting seeing the darkside of the F & F Affair get exposed while Holder comes out front fighting the new FED lawsuits filed by Sessions ….

  9. RandomTangent1957 says:

No, No, No …. I have the answer …, It was George Bush’s fault ! I can’ believe you all forgot that after 8 years of Obama & the fake news national media telling us that every day !

  10. Mountain Trekker says:

Never fear, as I’ve said before the Deep State is in control. They have something on everyone in politics and when ever a Politician steps out of line (out comes the scandal) we are really seeing this with Trumps crew, many on this site tries to blame the jews for everthing, but no, it’s the NSA,CIA and FBI, they call the shots, even the AG is afraid. I remember how outspoken he was until he got the AG job, now he’s as quite as a mouse. Trekker Out

  11. Wild Goose says:

Before “Fast and Furious” was revealed you can watch, starting at 40 seconds, as Obama bears false witness against the American people blaming American citizens for the guns finding their way into Mexico when he know all along that his “Fast and Furious” program that was designed to lend credence to his lie was the culprit.
It does not get much more wicked than this and if what Obama and Eric Holder did is not criminal enough to deserve prosecution, well I wouldn’t give two bits for the future of this country.

  12. “Fast and furious” was made for political reasons to score a political advantage. It took government personnel and money away from legitimate programs. I wonder if the money made from the sale of the guns made its way back into the Treasury.

  13. the blame-e says:

You just know nothing will come of this. [Sigh]

  14. aljamo says:

Well I come from Alobamma with a holder on my knee. I feel like Thunderclap Newman playing “Something in the Air”. Similar to Rahm Emanuel elected as mayor of a big shithole city, or was that Detroit?

Now Americans must exterminate the stalinites or be gulagged. There is no middle way. Trump is weak as shet and is to blame for sessions

  16. Jim in Va. says:

Redact, redact redact…just a solid black piece of paper.

  17. TorresD30 says:

COVER STORY: The purpose of the ‘Fast and Furious’ guns were to trace gun running to drug dealers.

COVER STORY: The purpose of the ‘Fast and Furious’ guns were to cause disaster and promote more gun control.

It is more likely that someone above the politicians pay grade directed those guns be sold to acquire a small number for clandestine purposes. The BATF&E operation is just a ‘cut out’ to prevent further tracing to the real end user.

  18. Bill says:

The only way to stop all these political and treasonous crimes and crimes against the people of the US is for the House and President to declare a state of emergency, pass emergency laws and establish special panels and investigations with defined legal powers. The trials should be a nationally televised show trial – like a tribunal. These tribunals shall be endowed with special but constitutional powers, impervious to political influence. The special laws passed by the House will require all guilty to be punished with mandatory maximum federal sentences. Special representatives of the people not affiliated with government will be allowed unrestricted access to all information and evidence. Only a national referendum with a 60 % majority can authorize the completion of prosecution of these crimes.

  19. Beaumont says:

“But the agency lost track of more than 1,400 of the 2,000 guns they allowed smugglers to buy.”

So, in Holder’s appraisal of himself, the guns will either be reported lost, or not reported.

  20. Concerned-Citizen! says:

That O’Banana and Holder are 2 crooked ass coons!!

  21. southside says:

I have never understood F&F. Exactly how were the weapons supposed to be traced once they crossed the border? Did they have some kind of tracking device attached? And exactly what would ATF do once they were tracked to cartel members in Mexico? Swoop in and arrest them? What a dumb ass operation. What a dumb ass DOJ.

    • Beaumont says:

Firstly, there doesn’t need to be any other strategy, at all, besides guilt-by-association.
      ^ That is intrigue enough.

If you wanted to have some kind of strategy — besides vacuous, venal, virtue signaling — the serial number is like the dye pack, in a sack of stolen money. It’s like when dyes are used in pepper sprays.

They expected crimes to be committed. Let me repeat that, for emphasis. They expected crimes to be committed with those guns.

When they caught the criminals, they expected to retrace their steps, by inference.

They would have been intentionally dirty about this. They wanted to be caught red handed. The officials would have claimed ‘qualified immunity’ for their own actions, while blaming the criminals, who they had armed. aimho

  22. Greg says:

Given that Congress controls how much money goes to each government department, when a government department fails to respond to their requests for ALL data, why are they so afraid of cutting off the money. They can do so selectively, down to the point of specific elements of the organization or potentially even specific individuals. Is this cowardice on the part of the members of Congress, or are they just putting on a show to make the public they are trying to do something?
