This Is a Monster: Sunspot Now Larger Than Jupiter… Continues to Unleash Solar Flares

As most Americans go about their daily lives without care or concern for what’s happening around them, 92 million miles away a catastrophic threat may well be in the making.

In January, the NOAA identified a sizable sun spot dubbed AR 1944. Within hours of warnings being issued about the potential for this particular region of the sun to cause earth-directed coronal mass ejections it sent an X-class solar flare our way. While powerful, that particular flare and the subsequent M-class flares were not strong enough to cause any significant disruptions on earth.

But as the spot rotated to the other side of the sun things got interesting… and ever more dangerous for the people of earth.

AR1944 has since been renamed to AR1967, and the region is now more active than it was in January. According to sky photographer John Chumack, AR1967 has grown considerably. It is now wider than Jupiter. That’s big. So big, in fact, that you can fit over 100 earth-sized planets into it.

(Credit: John Chumack – Sunspot AR 1967 – Galactic Images) calls it a monster:

“The massive sunspot AR 1967 is now wider than the planet Jupiter and is very active,” Chumack told in an email on Feb. 4. “Yesterday no less than seven M-class solar flares have erupted from this region.”

The sunspot group AR 1967 has continued to unleash several solar flares as it makes its two-week trek across the face of the sun, as seen from Earth.

And while AR1967 is not earth-facing as of right now, it will be in a couple weeks. Last week the sunspot unleashed seven M-class flares in a single day. And though earth was spared from getting hit by a higher-level X-class flare, the potential for such an event certainly exists and is estimated to be around 50% because of the region’s high level of activity.

It doesn’t happen often that the sun unleashes a solar flare powerful enough to cause serious damage, yet in the last decade we narrowly escaped the worst-case scenario twice.

The first instance occurred in 2003, when researchers spotted the most powerful solar flare ever recorded. That one came in at a whopping X-45 class. We got lucky that time, as the flare was not earth directed. But had it been, it could have led to widespread grid-down scenarios all over the planet as power grid infrastructures would have seen surges strong enough to destroy electrical transformers and substations.

The second incident occurred in 2012 and most people didn’t event hear about it. It wasn’t disseminated by the mainstream press until a full year later. That flare was so intense that it prompted one expert to claim the world escaped an EMP catastrophe:

‘There had been a near miss about two weeks ago, a Carrington-class coronal mass ejection crossed the orbit of the Earth and basically just missed us,’ added Peter Vincent Pry, who served on the Congressional EMP Threat Commission.

‘Basically this is a Russian roulette thing,’ he said. ‘We narrowly escape from a Carrington-class disaster.’

A Carrington-class catastrophe refers to an 1859 solar event that lead to surges across the world, which resulted in a (literal) meltdown of telegraph communications equipment.

CU-Boulder professor Daniel Baker noted that the 2012 flare was unprecedented:

The speed of this event was as fast or faster than anything that has been seen in the modern space age”

And to put into perspective what would have resulted had this flare not bounced off our atmosphere, Baker followed up with an ominous assessment:

Had it hit Earth, the July 2012 event likely would have created a technological disaster by short-circuiting satellites, power grids, ground communication equipment and even threatening the health of astronauts and aircraft crews.

We have proposed that the 2012 event be adopted as the best estimate of the worst case space weather scenario…

We came close.

So close that Congressional members are coming around to the idea that we could well experience the end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it should a high level X-class flare be directed at earth.

It’s no longer just an outlier, according to Congresswoman Yvette Clarke (D-NY) who is a senior member of the House Homeland Security Committee.

It’s a certainty:

The Likelihood of a severe geo-magnetic event capable of crippling our electric grid is 100%.

The reality is that one of these days, perhaps even the next time AR 1967 swings around, earth could get hit by a flare similar to what missed us in 2003 and 2012.

The fall out from such an event would be nothing short of a worldwide catastrophe, as electrical power lines, utility plants, GPS systems, telecommunications equipment (including your cell phone), cars, and anything else not hardened against an electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) is rendered instantly inoperable.

What would follow is complete pandemonium as the entire global infrastructure, especially in developed nations, completely collapses.

A security report presented to Congress predicts that such a scenario would be long-term, widespread, and result in the deaths of 90% of the population of the United States.

As retired Congressman Roscoe Bartlett has warned, our ailing grid is simply not ready for it. And no one is willing to pony up the tens of billions of dollars necessary to upgrade our domestic infrastructure.

In the grand scheme of things, the sun unleashes these powerful flares on a regular basis. It will do so again. And chances are that our planet will not be ready for it.

But this time it won’t just be telegraphs or a hydro power station in Ontario that goes down. It’s going to be a massive hit and it’s going to affect anyone on this planet who is dependent on the daily functioning of electrically powered systems.

As highlighted by Tess Pennington, a grid-down scenario is no laughing matter and something to be taken very seriously:

Consider, for a moment, how drastically your life would change without the continuous flow of energy the grid delivers. While manageable during a short-term disaster, losing access to the following critical elements of our just-in-time society would wreak havoc on the system.

  • Challenges or shut downs of business commerce
  • Breakdown of our basic infrastructure: communications, mass transportation, supply chains
  • Inability to access money via atm machines
  • Payroll service interruptions
  • Interruptions in public facilities – schools, workplaces may close, and public gatherings.
  • Inability to have access to clean drinking water

How prepared are you for a scenario in which the grid is non-functioning for an extended period of time?

It wouldn’t take long for society to fall apart if it were to happen. Recent evidence suggests that within three days we’d be in a world of trouble.

With all of the variables at play we can probably all agree that the possibility on any given day is extremely low. But over a timeline of fifty or a hundred years, it becomes a lot more likely.

The last time a major solar event struck earth was 1859.

Don’t forget sun glasses and plenty of ice. It appears this might be God’s plan of global warming.

      • Be informed says:

The world as we know is always now on the brink, now is the time to consider much before it is too late and all of us are engulfed suddenly by what is eventually coming.

Each one of you has some sorts of supplies and survival plans. All of this can be lost. How? By trusting the wrong person(s). Most people are very phoney. Most people will backstab you no matter how good you are to them or no matter how well you have their best interest at heart. In life this means painful resentment and sometimes even financial loss. In and after a SHTF, it means loss of your supplies and possibly your life. Trust is something that is very rare commodity and you are GUARANTEED to not have too many people in your life that you can trust, that will stick to their commitment and word and to honor you as a person. Let the wrong person into your survival group and you and everyone in your group could pay with their lives. Old adage; it is far easier to fight the well armed attacker facing you in the front than the much weaker sneaky back stabber in the rear.

Check out this extremely well written decription about friends that I found in a little booklet that I posted about a year and a half ago to put this very much so in perspective. This to protect those out there from falling into the TRAP of letting the wrong people into your lives.
Someone once said that “the best way to attract a friend is to be a friend oneself”. Note I use “friend” singularly because let me tell you, dear reader, that a “friend” is very much a singular thing. If you can go through life and say that you have one good, or possibly even two or three friend(s) during your lifetime then you certainly can count yourself a most fortunate person indeed.

“Friends” are about rare as cool water in a hot desert. Anybody who tells you that they have “lots of friends” is a fool. We have many acquaintances, “disgusied” as friends, but real friends: next to none at all. If you don’t believe me you will learn for yourself: at some point you are going to have to test your friends; you may be in real need of something which will mean them spending time, concern, money or some special kind of sacrific, on your behalf. Just watch how those “friends” will evaporate overnight! You will be stunned. You will be disillusioned, embittered. I have had this experience many times. What horrifies me is that you find your “closest buddy” disintegrate at only the barest sacrific demanded of him or her; he or she is not being asked to give you a pile of money or put his or her life at risk; often the “sacrific” involved is something, at least in my eyes, of no great monumental deprivation to the person concerned.

Before I got wise I several times did things for people that involved real danger for myself in order to help them. I no longer know these people. It became apparent to me through the passing of time that in no way would those people – great self styled “friends”- even remotely consider helping me in a situation only a fraction as dangerous or difficult as the situations in which I had helped them. By James F. Cullian.

BI, good day to you, sir, and I totally agree with your analysis. Although I have an arrangement to go to a cousin’s BOL and have half of my supplies already there, that is the MOST trustworthy of relatives that I made the arrangement with. I trust my family ONLY to a certain degree. If I could get MY OWN BOL…..

        • Just_Sayin says:

You must be fun at parties.

I can tell you that I have a lot of friends that have past the tests you refer to above. The fact that you hang out with a bunch of jerk-offs doesn’t mean I am a fool.

SUGGESTION: Maybe stop being so informative and stop diagnosing and analyzing everything and maybe people will stop avoiding you (kinda like Mac does here) !!

          • eppe says:

BI is one of the few here who give excellent info on the problems at hand, when you can contribute as much, do so, we would love to hear new and interesting info…
I try, but there are some here who input much great info, and are the backbone of this site. If it was not for the good posters here, would Mac’s site survive? One can post anything from other sites but if no one responds, do you think it would prosper? I have seen Mac’s site go from 10+ posters to over 800 on one subject, even though we have CERTAIN ones who come here to disrupt the TRUE flow of info…

          • Mcdave says:

            Keep on bein’ you.
            Your doin’ great.

          • eppe says:

You are a sick mofo Sybil E. and you will be dealt with.

            • Be informed says:

@ eppe. The one thing you can count on with me is that I will keep my word. I promised many people like JayJay and others that I would not engage the trolls and I meant it. This is extremely destructive to the site and Mac’s livelihood. I have always wanted to do what is right for the site and the good people that visit the site and interact with it. I could come up with far better comebacks than any troll could, but it would take up space and give the desperate attention to an extremely immature person with equally low intelligence the time they absolutely don’t deserve.

I am better than this and so are the people here. I found that out the other day that I was not acting above that of a child’s level or someone that desperately needs medical attention of the mind. I will not lower myself to someone that has a sole purpose of destroying a fine web site like this one. Other people in the government have much desires to take down websites such as this either through paid trolls and shrills, or egging on the severely mentally deranged. Either case the end results are that we all lose. I want to see SHTF plan win and provide one of the few still free outlets of free speech out there. People that attempt to damage others like this, like you say, will be dealt with their own pitiful lives as stupid people always screw up their own lives. Thank you for being a champion of this site.

          • Be informed says:

@ Just_Sayin. This was written by James F. Cullinan back in 1982 in England. It had extreme insight back then and even more so now. I have known so many people that brag and brag about all the friends they have, and every single time when there was a time they truly needed them, they were left with one or two or no one in their corner. Without fail. Not one person I have ever known has a magnitude of true blue friends. Those that live in a delusional world and think so and trust those that should not be trusted WHEN SHTF or mega SHTF leave themselves wide open to be taken advantage of or much worse.

Suggesstion “friend” maybe you should stop living your life through what you see in the movies and wake up and see true life is not sparkle and glitter and start to use a tiny bit of cynicism and pragmatism to protect yourself and your family when those so called “friends” demand that you share what you have or else WHEN TRUE SHTF. This is just a friendly suggestion to help you so you are not devastated when you find these words all too true when push comes to shove with these so called “friends”. Just saying.

            • Just_Sayin says:

If you don’t have true friends and a network of like minded individuals the bottom line is your fucked long term. Thumb me down all you want but I can tell you that when the SHTF your short term hunker down period will eventually be followed by the next stage where you will need others. Start now or wait and roll the dice… your choice !!

          • Noah says:

Just give it time, you will find out BI is correct on this one. Your friends will all leave you when you most need them.

            • Just_Sayin says:

Time indeed will tell. When the time comes you better have contacts and people you can trust or you will be on duty 24/7 and I can tell you that is not sustainable no matter how much knowledge you have !!

        • salvadordaly says:

        • DRD5508 says:

BI, great timing of this article. As many have already found out, there are times we can’t count on family either and don’t confuse family as friend(s).

I have experienced the friend story personally several times, never again. I have helped people at great sacrifice only to be shit on. I once helped a woman that was running down the street screaming for help. My ex-wife told her we would call the police and she asked us not to so my ex offered to have her come to our place to clean up. My ex helped her and gave her clothes that wore not ripped and covered her black and blue breasts again. Two black eyes were also part of her beating and other injuries. The ex let lay on the couch until morning. Morning came, she was gone along with my wallet and 2 weeks pay. Hope she fell in front of the house of the guy how beat her. Like I said, never again, good luck sheeple.

So I went and pulled my 9mm out of my safe, loaded up a fully loaded mag, woke them up, made them leave the house naked, and threw their clothes out on the ground at them. I threw the rest of her shit out also and told her never come back if you want to live. never saw or heard from her again and never even dated anyone else since then. I only discovered afterward that I had some things missing from the house also. That bitch was damned lucky I didn’t lay a hand on her.

You’re absolutely right BI, in time you learn who your friends really are. There are those who will stand by you thick or thin to the end and those who will backstab you moment they think they’re getting a bigger better deal or think they can spat in your face even if they’re you’re best friend, or you thought they were. No matter how much you did for them or all the good memories you had together. If they betrayed you once, they will do it again.

I hate to even think of it but if this is the way it has to be then I say no mercy to two-faced traitors and do what I must to even my ‘best friends’ to protect myself and what I have, no hesitation, or die trying. Though I’d much rather just let them fend for themselves and hope they live to regret it. If they know you have stuff, don’t keep all your eggs in one basket when SHTF. Hide, relocate, or cache them in different places if you haven’t done so. That way they can’t get to it and if you’re killed or incapacitated then only the ones you absolutely trust will find them or hopefully some lucky soul finds some solace and salvation.

Even Jesus was abandoned and betrayed initially by his friends when SHTF and ‘every man is for himself’. Thanks for the post.

He eventually died a painful death of cancer at a reasonably young age. Karma I guess. I thought about it more and came to the conclusion that he was part of my journey through this life. I was tested and educated. Hard and painful but made better for it.

Knowing that Judaism teaches that non-Jews (and especially blacks) are not human, it is clearly the banksters’ inside joke that they funded the Kenyan who will be left ‘holding the bag’ when they complete the collapse, their latest economic crime against humanity.

The banksters will leave a black man ‘holding the bag’ while the tribal looters laugh up their sleeves, playing innocent victims, counting their shekels in their gated mansions.

The Pritzkers knew what they were doing when they funded the Kenyan; they hoped to buy a plausible alibi, a Get-Out-of-Jail-Free card for the tribal perpetrators. It was big Jewish money that put that Kenyan into the White House. Yes, their clever inside joke.

Recent testing and most credible scientists agree that no matter the strength of a CME your pickup would more than likely start right back up. It could require some minor repairs, but the magnetic forces of a CME would induce electricity in any large conductor. That includes power transformers and the power grid itself, but not electronics that are not directly connected to the grid.

I used to believe the prepper porn, but after seeing the overwhelming evidence sold my old manually aspirated diesel because repairs were going to cost more than it was worth. That being said if for any reason I cannot make it 70 miles to my retreat, we will have to get by at our main home in this small city. Adjacent to our home are acres of public land with dead wood laying all over it, standing dead timber, so much game we have urban deer hunts, and a lake full of fish. My biggest concern here is other people. I have crosscut saws with the training and experience necessary to fell and buck firewood without a chainsaw.

BTW, If you put fuel stabilizer in your chainsaw fuel now it will need to be retreated in a year, but Pri-G stores unopened indefinitely so if you wait till you need to use the fuel it will revitalize gasoline up to ten years old. Google “Pri-G FAQ” for more information.

I read the news every day and learned about the 2008 powerful gamma ray burst in 2010. Apparently, the media chose NOT to report this news or were too focused on reporting other events.

On March 19, 2008, a powerful gamma ray burst detected by NASA’s Swift satellite in the Bo-otes constellation shattered the record for the most distant object that could be seen with the naked eye.

“It was a whopper,” said Swift principal investigator Neil Gehrels of the Goddard Space Flight Center. “This blows away every gamma ray burst we’ve seen so far.”

NASA said the afterglow “was 2.5 million times more luminous than the most luminous supernova ever recorded, making it the most intrinsically bright object ever observed by humans in the universe.”

OK, I know I am new to the sight, but everything Eisencruz posts is pathetic. So I thought I would share with all of you what kind of person he really is.
Being new to this sight, I first went through many weeks of articles and posts, and, like clockwork, Eisencruz always posts nonsense.
Soooo, I have a friend who has a phd in psychology, has worked in law enforcement for 20+ years as a line officer, then investigator. He currently is a freelance profiler/interrogator who works independently and is called by different agencies to work cases they are stuck on. He often gets called to profile, and interrogate for a confession. He is either hired by an LE agency, or by victim’s families.
He is called by many different agencies and on occasion has come in behind the FBI. Anyway, this guy knows his stuff.
He was over the other night, and I was telling him about this sight, and what a moron this one guy, Eisencruz, was. We decided that he should read some of Eisens’ posts and profile him.
Here is what he came up with.
          Eisnecruz is most likely:
          1. A white male 40-50.
          2. Was home schooled because of the bullies.
          3. Most likely wears his mother’s/grandmothers panties because they are the only females who showed him any attention. This is a metaphorical umbilical cord for him.
          4. Is a homosexual. Not by choice, but by necessity. He would much rather be with a woman, but none will have him.
          5. Joined the military and/or law enforcement, but could not hang. Felt rejected when he got the boot, and this is why he resents all of us military/law enforcement. Jealousy.
          6. Is probably not a real prepper. Probably spends most of his time on a number of blogs knowing really nothing about the subject matter. It’s his only real social life, and the more outrageous posts he makes, the more attention he gets. In fact, the only attention he gets.
          7. Substance abuser of some sort. Weak individual and dependency on things, and people come easily.
          8. Is unemployed due to poor social skills. Most likely lives in his mother’s/grandmother’s basement.
          9. Believe it or not he has money. Not from hard work, or an education, but more likely from a lawsuit involving some liberal judge. He likely got rewarded a large sum from some city park where he fell off the jungle gym while scoping out the children.
          10. Although he has plenty of money, he can not bring himself to cut the metaphorical umbilical cord, get a job and contribute to society.

By the way today is day 18 since the proposed possible beginning of the end of the economy. The dow is at 16015 and gold is at 1279. This is about a 12.5 to 1 ratio. NO ONE has to worry about any economic collapse with this ratio above 8 to 1 unless there is a PHYSICAL event such as this talked about. The only point to pay attention to the economy will be if and when that ratio is 10 to 1 or less. Gold is REAL money and shows what is happening with inflation. The dow can only be rigged so much in regard to the price of gold. Watch this ratio for the sign of trouble. At 12.5 to 1, any talk about economic collapse is in the long term. This is the logical math I can apply to the stocks, hard currency.

That is, a manufacturer ships items to the store that haven’t been paid for yet. The idea is that the goods will sell and generate enough revenue to pay the bill.

The problem with this arrangement is that if the goods don’t sell, the retailer still has to pay for them. If it cannot pay for the goods, the retailer may have to declare bankruptcy and shut down. That’s what happened to Circuit City.

I have to be honest with you. I determined that the end of the economy as we have known it was in Sept 2012 when they announced Quantitative Easing III (QE3). Then, in Sept 2013, they announced QE Infinite.

I no longer believe that businesses (Fortune 1000) can cover their expenses without access to the Fed Discount window.

(I know only a few businesses have access to the discount window but the rest are recipients of downstream fed money).

I think we are on the last legs. The last sign was the purposeful tanking of the emerging markets by Wall Street. That was a last ditch effort to say, “Hey, Invest in America because all the rest of the economies are broke). But it doesn’t look like anyone took the bait.

China is ready to assume the position as holders / keepers of the global default currency. Switzerland brokering in it, significant amounts of capital have moved out of the U.S. and to into Singapore (the proxy for china investment).

The Aussie, New Zealand, China trading bloc is humming along just fine. The only thing left I see is for Russia to sign on and then finally, South Korea.

And finally, the only reason why the Fed tapered down is because the Bank Of International Settlements has determined that the old leveraging rate was too fast for others to absorb (i.e. Special Drawing Rights…which are the BIS claims against a currency.

With reference to the above article, I fully believe something like that is needed so that moneys can be spent fixing the damned grid (and everything else) and that would do wonders for the economy. Kind of sick logic, I know.

          • John W. says:

A great deal of respect for you BI. But the way I see the DOW. It’s up, it’s down. It’s up.

I think the oscillation are getting more erratic. The Nikkei was down like 10% this year. Several countries have currencies in early hyperinflation.

I imagine the Fed is at Def Con 5 trying to keep the DOW up.

The markets were up today because Yellin said she’s going to continue the money printing policies.

          • John W. says:

This is just more wealth transfer from the taxpayers to the bankers and wise guys. They are laundering the debt by using the QE to convert it to capital gains for the connected. The rank and file will be left with the debt payments.

          • Be informed says:

@ Cellar Spider and Sierra Dave. I try to use something to figure out what is going on economically. I think the only real numbers to use is to compare something and most everything to precious metals because precious metals are the bedrock of real money. You can silver or even the other precious metals such as platinum or even copper to a lessar extent. I use gold because it is the still the “gold standard” of all metals.

I truly believe that even the Dow, SP500, Nasdaq, have to have something someway of being linked to true money as these are just the top 30 companies, top 500 companies, and the high tech other industries that all go with true money. These companies still use money to pay salaries receive proftis, etc. This is ultimately tied to real money.

I found if you use this ratio to really bad times economically you can use the ratio between the Dow and the price of gold as a benchmark. Watch that ratio and you can have a sort of thormometer. Like a thermometer in the Sun it is not perfect always, but it is the best I have seen to show what is actually happening. Look at at least a 10 to one ratio or lower to a true warning sign. Like Gold at 1500 an ounce and the dow at 15000 or lwer for example. Or something like gold at 2000 and the dow at 16000. This would show the Dow is artificially inflated badly at an 8 to 0ne ratio. Not perfect, but not a bad gauge.

THOUGHT POLICE: Firms must SWEAR Obamacare not a factor in firings

“administration officials announcing the new exemption for medium-sized employers had to say about firms that might fire workers to get under the threshold and avoid hugely expensive new requirements of the law.

Obama officials made clear in a press briefing that firms would NOT be allowed to lay off workers to get into the preferred class of those businesses with 50 to 99 employees. How will the feds know what employers were thinking when hiring and firing? Simple.

Firms will be required to CERTIFY to the IRS – under penalty of perjury – that ObamaCare was not a motivating factor in their staffing decisions. To avoid ObamaCare costs you must swear that you are not trying to avoid ObamaCare costs.”

  12. Well we are planning a big shopping trip on Thursday so hopefully it waits til Friday. Winter items are going on clearance now so we buy bigger clothes for the kids a year or two in advance. It’s also time to do some stocking of the pantry. This last month has been a trial to see if we could just eat what we had at home, no shopping or eating out unless it was free from work. It was hard and showed me some things I really need to stock up on. Fresh produce in the winter would be sorely missed by my family.

    • eppe says:

While talking about fresh produce, keep this in mind…

It’s been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land,
planted a garden, made animals and fish… All before making a human. He made and provided
what we’d need before we were born. These are best & more powerful when eaten raw.
      We’re such slow learners…
God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part of our body!
      God’s Pharmacy! Amazing!
A sliced Carrot looks the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines
look just like the human eye… And YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance
blood flow to and function of the eyes.
A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red.
All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.
Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell
and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.
A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper
cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex.
We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.
Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.
Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target
bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don’t have enough sodium in your diet,
the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female –
they look just like these organs. Today’s research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances
hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly
nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical
constituents nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).
Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility
of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.
Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.
Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries
Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female
and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.
Onions look like the body’s cells. Today’s research shows onions help clear waste materials
from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working
companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

May be off topic, but good things to know…

  14. Prepper says:

The article overlooked something even more ominous. An EMP on a national scale would fry transformers which are very long-lead items even in good times. It’s debatable if you could make transformers in large numbers without a functioning power grid. As if that’s not enough, starting up downed power plants requires external power. Guess what will be missing in a large-scale EMP?

Realistically it could take many years, and probably DECADES to get the power grid back. In 1859 electricity was just beginning to be utilized in cities, so the Carrington Event had only minor consequences. Today preppers, survivalists, farmers, hermits, and the Amish would get by but the rest of the world would be in deep doodoo. The article says 90% mortality but I think that’s probably optimistic. And if there is only that tiny group of survivors left, it amounts to a reset button back to the mid 1800’s. Small agrarian communities have to be focused entirely on food, water, and defense, making the rebuilding of society such a low priority it is essentially not on the list.

So a good sized EMP not only throws us back 150 years but it is even more dangerous due to roving gangs of thugs who will stop at nothing to take what you have.

    • rednek101 says:

If you can stand the power outage the rest is all in how you put things into perspective. In my neighborhood we would view said roving gangs as an opportunity for a target practice session. They would rove no more.

  15. shiftless says:

The author has some misunderstandings about solar flares. EMP weapons generate energy in three waves: E1, E2, and E3, in order from fastest to slowest. The E1 wave occurs over a period of milliseconds, and is the wave which instantly destroys susceptible electronic circuits. This is not produced by solar flares; therefore electronics are safe as long as they’re not connected to the grid. The E2 wave is not very dangerous itself, but the E3 (slow) wave occurs over a period of minutes and induces large currents in long transmission lines, which is likely to destroy the electrical grid and cause fires. Keep your stuff off the grid and it will unaffected by solar flares, though of course a good flare will destroy the grid and therefore civilization as we know it. Long beans and bullets…

You won’t have that problem if you wait until after they all drop. I believe even if every circuit on the planet is fried, EVENTUALLY, we will start building more. The human race can suffer set-backs, but we can’t be held back forever.

We created the current electronics from NOTHING…we can do so again.

            • shiftless says:

Correct, sixpack. I personally could design a digital computer from scratch if needed, from the furnace and mold to cast iron parts to build the silicon wafer processing and photolithography equipment, to the actual design of the electronic circuits. I’m not the only guy who lives to collect such useful knowledge. ‘Archivist’ is another one of those fellows. Technology is not going away, period. I feel sorry for those guys who think they’re going to be OK running around with swords and muzzle loaders among folks like me who will have heat seeking missiles and laser cannons.

              • Archivist says:

I was going to say 1TB is a good start. I have 30+ TB and am waiting for the market to come out with larger drives, especially in solid state. My dream would be a yottabyte solid state drive. I have tons of technical books, but I also have the classics, novels, magazines, and complete runs of every comic book you’ve ever heard of.

The first computer I had with over 1TB of drives in it sounded like a small plane cranking up. I had 10 or 11 hard drives plus 3 or 4 cooling fans in it. A couple of the drives were just lying on the bottom of the case. I’d love to fill that old computer up with huge solid state drives and use it as network storage.

One good type of book to look for is the old electrical engineering handbooks. One I have is “Standard Handbook for Electrical Engineers” edited by Frank F. Fowle, 6th edition, 1933. It’s a fat one at 2,816 pages. There’s 250 pages just on power transmission and distribution. You need to get more than one, preferably from different years. The older ones spend more time on the more basic information, including older version of infrastructure. The newer ones include radio, TV, and more circuit diagrams.

For anyone planning to build any electronic circuits, soldering properly takes practice, so you need to get supplies and start practicing now. Get Make magazine and do some projects. When you get pretty good, find the parts and diagrams to build an “American Five-Tube Radio.” I built one in high school, and it was the best AM radio I ever owned. I wish I still had it. Somehow I managed to hang on to the parts list.

              • “Technology is not going away, period.”

Sorry, but until humans get balanced with nature, everything will go away, it is just a matter of time. Nature and the Universe has plenty of patience, and everything WILL come back to balance because that is the NATURAL LAW you and your computer cant change. Humans have no shortage of narcissism and that is what leads to collapse. Not sometimes, every-time. You think humans haven’t been here before? Maybe you need a shot of King Solomon, “there is nothing new under the sun.” Look at all the dead abandoned empires of the ancients and tell me technology is not going anywhere. For people supposedly awake on this sight, there is no shortage of blindness.

Good guard dogs and plenty of food for them plus enough male/female ratio to replace the ones lost? All vehicles and farm equipment totally bullet proof? Bullet proof clothing from head to foot, not that it is going to do you any good because nothing stops a 300 win mag. Replacement for all moving parts and electrical devices? You have all this covered? I can keep going…

            • It is not a matter of being able to, it is the glaring brokenness of do we want to. How many times do we take from the planet and put back nothing before the planet has nothing left to give? When will man realize we must live with nature and quit dumping plastic/chemicals/wastes in the oceans, rives. streams and air? Short sightedness of “I got mine” is what is leading us to the great die off and yet you guys want to fire the ovens back up and do it all over again because this time is different. I have news for you, no its not.

We are reaching peak everything, water (huge problem) oil, farm land is toxic, all the easy mining of ore is gone, our infrastructure is crumbling, our cities are decaying, municipalities are bankrupting, our currency is damn near dead, we have built mega bombs of destruction and yet you fvkers want washing machines and computer systems? WTF is wrong with you people? have you no eyes to see? Modern Civilization and materialism is the problem.

        • You may have prepared for starving looters, and can likely fend off small parties of people trying to take what you have, but are you prepared for a coordinated attack from a heavily armed band of pillagers?

You better be, because you can be assured they are preparing for you.

  16. OT
The people are going to be tested again. How many of the people that were caught unprepared during the last snow (storm) did any preparing?
Now we have a major ice storm coming. The shelves at the stores are cleared. But I bet very few have a way to heat without electricity.
The headlines are calling this one catastrophic. The governor is on TV saying to be prepared for no power for days.
My bet is not very many are prepared. And will be caught off guard.

    • sixpack says:

I have a whole wall full of cans of food that can be eaten cold, right from the can. Soups and chili may be a little greasy cold, but they can both be eaten without heating.

I’ve heated food in the tin cans, over an open fire/coals many times, with nothing more than a can opener and a pair of pliers…eating right out of the can. You can also puncture a small hole in the top of a can and, let it sit in strong sunlight for an hour or so, and it will be pretty warm to eat. Only a can opener is required…an eating utensil is optional.

This event is all it would take for MEGA-SHTF. No one would even have to fire any nukes at us. 3 months after the event, at least half of the population will already be history. The nonpreppers will definitely be toast. everyone get your preps in order like yesterday and continue prepping as long as possible. braveheart

    • Northern Reb says:

Sir, you are correct in your assumption that if this is the BIG ONE that the non preppers will be lost in the first few months if not weeks.
I have noticed that there has been alot of public annoucements about having 3 to 7 days of food, water, a little cash on hand, flash lighs, batteries, portiable radio.
If the power goes out every one will be affected sooner or later.
We as a nation relay to much on electricity, people in those 3rd. world counties will fare far better than we here in the USA.
I can see it now just like in the L.A. riots, Katrina, the Watts riots in the 60’s, heck even in the tornadoaes that hit around Christmas people were looting. It will be a lot worse. because people will know that it will take years before power comes back on.

As I related a week ago I won my long fight with a local tyrant wannabee over free speech and the very next day a dear friends wife calls me and asks me to get to the local medical center as her husband had an emotional issue at his doctors office(a grown man actually…wait for it…shed some tears in a moment of frustration)doc told him to go to the hospital and theyde get him some help for his not sleeping(which was his reason for being at the office in the first place)…short story is I get there and the nurse comes in and demands he sign a form which I had some questions about…get this…they tried to trick him into signing himself into the crazy ward…for being emotional!!!…I took over and ran her out of the room…she came back with another improved form she was sure he would sign and with fatty fat pants the security guard in tow…I told her I was my friends advocate and he was signing nothing and wanted to go home, she throws a hissy fit and tears up the paper then storms out…with me asking her who here really belongs in the crazy house…took a couple hours and they finally told him if he would meet with a councilor they would let him go if not they were going to to “302” him and take any guns he had…now Im POed…pOed but cool…ole REB gave her both barrels and told her they had no grounds to hold him and they would not be 302ing anyone…that they were blowing air and they knew I knew it…I can tell when a hound is bluffing on a trail ;)…finally they relented on all points except for the visit to to councilor…he agreed just to get out of there…I went with him a couple days later and thank God again they had nothing… we were out of there in 15 minutes case closed!…all is well and the taste of victory is sweet, but then the next day…ya the next day…stress will catch up to the best of us…sicker than a dog but with no nausea for a week…fever/chills/aches…you name it,nasty…thank God again after about 4 days I could stand up and see straight…and through all of it I still had to go out into this infernal cold and do my chores and such…theres no time off for being sick on this farm, critters still need care…anyhow Im back on my feet and ready to start my next “fight”…yeeehawwwww!…hope y’all are keeping warm! I’m not an electrician either, but I understand that structures all have an earth ground to protect against that. Our old fuse box had a copper rod that was driven into the ground outside. I understand sometimes the old pipes are used as a ground. The idea being that the electrical current goes through the house and into the ground where it becomes harmless…please, any electricians out there to tell me whether I understand this correctly?

        • In general regular 110v you have three wires…black is the hot wire…white is the neutral and generally your ground wire is a bare piece of copper or sometimes its a green wire…electric is always seeking a ground via the path of least resistance…a good solid pipe/metal bar driven deep into the ground provides a safe place for juice to find that ground otherwise it might go through your body to find one…generally itll flow to a good ground before itll go through you…used to be very afraid of it till I learned that like fire it can be tamed but never trusted…it demands you respect it and it makes/accepts no excuses for any violation…I can wire up most anything but even though I understand the theory Im not real good at “splainin” it…hope that helps a bit 🙂

Why can’t the media cover those issues as much as they cover the darn Super Bowl?

I can take bad weather. In fact, I can take more bad weather in spurts.

    But extreme aberrant weather?

    Chicken Little

Chicken Little likes to walk in the woods. She likes to look at the trees. She likes to smell the flowers. She likes to listen to the birds singing.

One day while she is walking an acorn falls from a tree, and hits the top of her little head.

    – My, oh, my, the sky is falling. I must run and tell the lion about it, – says Chicken Little and begins to run.

She runs and runs. By and by she meets the hen.

    – Where are you going? – asks the hen.

    – Oh, Henny Penny, the sky is falling and I am going to the lion to tell him about it.

    – How do you know it? – asks Henny Penny.

    – It hit me on the head, so I know it must be so, – says Chicken Little.

    – Let me go with you! – says Henny Penny. – Run, run.

So the two run and run until they meet Ducky Lucky.

    – The sky is falling, – says Henny Penny. – We are going to the lion to tell him about it.

    – How do you know that? – asks Ducky Lucky.

    – It hit Chicken Little on the head, – says Henny Penny.

    – May I come with you? – asks Ducky Lucky.

    – Come, – says Henny Penny.

So all three of them run on and on until they meet Foxey Loxey.

    – Where are you going? – asks Foxey Loxey.

    – The sky is falling and we are going to the lion to tell him about it, – says Ducky Lucky.

  41. Adamantium says:

Greetings…Thought I’d pop in on some EMP tips. Faraday cages can be costly to make, but not all the difficult, A conductive, grounded, wire mesh can save you a lot of hassle in an EMP scenario. Alternatively, an old microwave, grounded, is essentially the same thing. So instead of tossing out the old busted microwave, bury it, strip away the plug, place the exposed copper from the plug on a ground rod and shove it in the ground. This will allow you to easily store away a pair of two way or ham radios, gps devices, anything small enough to fit that you would like to possibly hold on to. Hope this is turns out to be useful,

    • Ordinary 1/4″ or 1/2″ hardware mesh works just fine, and it is affordable, not too hard to work with, build wood frames, one layer around the inside, one layer around the outside, ground wires from each layer, and you are done.

    Great info here today! Thanks….

Prayers for health and safety for you all. Yeesh….I wish I had more time and money to get ready. I know I shouldn’t fear….but it’s hard not to sometimes with so much going on.

I really envy some of you….

You will be ok just do what you can, a little at a time. By now you should have a week or more of food, water and personal items. Look around your house for what you all ready have with out going to your prepps.
Do not be afraid to go to any food pantries for some assistance now to help you get ready.
Then after the SHTF. dont be afraid of going to the red cross stations or even fema stations for emergency supplies. Just remember you don’t tell them everything when they you personal questions. You want to fit in with the rest of the people at are looking for help. You take blankets, water, food, medications, soap, toothpaste, ECT. you can put that with your stash Don’t act any different than the rest of the people around you. If you do they will be checking you out to see why you don’t need any help when every one else does.

          Snow Fleas: From another site…..

Fleas…Is Bubonic Plague in our Future?

Hi Steve I just had something happen here I have never seen before. (see photos below) We had a very intense snow storm which lasted about 2 hours come through here, about 2 hours ago which left about 3 inches of snow. I decide to go out and clean off the deck and sidewalk a few minutes ago. Just as was starting to clean the snow off the sidewalk I noticed very small black specks all over the snow. I looked closer and notice the specks were Flea’s. I started looking around me and noticed there were flea’s everywhere. Thousands and thousands of flea’s. I took a few pictures that I have attached. Have you ever hear of something like this happen after a snow storm. As the storm was occurring I heard several jet aircraft fly over. We are in Craig Montana and very seldom hear jet aircraft flying overhead during a snow storm or for that matter at anytime. There is a low altitude airway that comes over the house with an MEA (minimum enroute altitude) of 13,000 feet. So if I could hear the aircraft, (atleast 3) they more than likely were on the airway and the fact that I heard the aircraft within 10 minutes of each other means something was going on. What do you think? John / Craig Montana

  45. The thing that scares me the most about something like this happening is fires. We can all be prepared, but from what I have read of the 1859 event, sparks showered from the keys on telegraphs and in some cases telegraph poles actually caught fire. If this much energy comes into our homes today, even with the main breaker off, there is going to be a lot of arcing and exploding electrical equipment. We could loose everything that we have built up over the years. Depending on how much time we have after an initial warning, my thought is to shut off the main breaker, go out and remove the meter from the side of the house and disconnect everything I can. Has anyone else given this any thought and came up with any possible solutions?

    • Archivist says:

I would shut off the main breaker and all the other breakers. If you can remove the meter, I would do that. I would also unplug everything from wall sockets. I would take down my computer system and unplug all cords just in case they’re long enough for a flare to induce currents in them. I would unplug all TV cables and stereo cables also.

    King Of Pain Lyrics

There’s a little black spot on the Sun today
It’s the same old thing as yesterday
There’s a black hat caught in a high tree top
There’s a flag pole rag and the wind won’t stop

I have stood here before inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles running ’round my brain
I guess I’m always hoping that you’ll end this reign
But it’s my destiny to be the king of pain

There’s a little black spot on the Sun today (that’s my soul up there)

There’s a fossil that’s trapped in a high cliff wall (that’s my soul up there)
There’s a dead salmon frozen in a waterfall (that’s my soul up there)
There’s a blue whale beached by a springtide’s ebb (that’s my soul up there)

I have stood here before inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles running ’round my brain
I guess I’m always hoping that you’ll end this reign
But it’s my destiny to be the king of pain

There’s a king on a throne with his eyes torn out
There’s a blind man looking for a shadow of doubt
There’s a rich man sleeping on a golden bed
There’s a skeleton choking on a crust of bread

    King of pain

There’s a red fox torn by a huntsman’s pack (that’s my soul up there)
There’s a black winged gull with a broken back (that’s my soul up there)
There’s a little black spot on the Sun today

The TRUE once free AMERICA Enemy Unmasked

THE Jesuit order has taken over ZOG AmeriKa and is using it for their own purposes. The United States of once free America is at the brink of total collapse.

Once a great and powerful nation, the United States is now in a free fall to disaster from which she will never recover.

A few more steps in its decline and it will be ruined.

These are not easy words for anyone to read, but, nevertheless, they are absolutely true.

Tragically, it need not have come to this. As one looks at the history of nations, from Babylon to Rome to America, it is evident that the human spirit was protecting and guiding America.

This country began as a few colonies on the Eastern seaboard of this vast land and became a great nation.

But throughout its history a most secretive enemy has been stalking America for over 200 years. She is about to apply the death grip from which America will never recover.

do you know who the enemy is, who they have used in history, who is aiding them today, and how the final scenes will unfold ???

Obama instituted the payroll tax holiday. It was For a couple of years. That didn’t reduce the income tax. It reduced the withholding of the social security tax from about 7% to 4% . A result was that for the very first time Social security ran in the red. In 2012 the social security paid out more than it took in. Really smart reduce Social security revenue Just as the first wave of baby boomers are starting to retire?

      • Congratulations. I got my first check today. Even had the cola increase in it. I am the same as you, hoping I at least get my money back. I will never understand the payroll holiday BS. If the system is as bad as they say it is, then why would they cut back on what is coming in. I almost get the feeling they are trying to bankrupt the system. The latest figures I read said that that 2 percent cut took approximately $10 billion out of the system per month.

For those wondering about a CME affecting you on the ground. Yes it can IF it is large enough. This is why aircraft will often fly on alternatives courses away from the magnetic poles to avoid excessive amounts of cosmic radiation to the crews. Large enough discharges of particles CAN reach the ground penetrating the protective atmospheric layers, the ozone layers. It is thought that either this occurred or a gamma ray pulse hit the planet during one or more of the past mass extinctions in geological history.

Makes sense since something heavily damaging the protective ozone layer would severely affect the oceans and the plankton, plant and food supply to many life forms. Yes, there will be more cosmic radiation depending on the size of the CME and the radiation levels of it.

No. A CME is electro-magnetic, there is very little radiation in it when it hit Earth, about as much as a chest xray if that.
The only thing it does is mess with electrical devices, anything with transitors in them. Radios, computers, TV’s, some lighting, or any thing that has an armature in it.
