With an ever-growing chorus of ‘soak the rich’ rising from the left-er of the leftists, it is becoming increasingly important to know what “rich” is – How much would you have to earn in a year in the U.S. before someone considered you rich?

Statista’s Niall McCarthy has the answer. According to a recent YouGov poll ,that depends heavily on you ask…

The research found that the American public considers an annual income between $90,000 and $100,000 necessary to be deemed rich. The fieldwork for the survey was carried out in September 2018 and it found that 76 percent of respondents think an annual income of $10,000 constitutes being poor.

That label gets shaken off once yearly earnings hit $30,000 with half of the population saying someone in this income category is neither rich nor poor.

While there is a sense of division as to whether a $90,000 paycheck makes someone rich of poor, a majority of 56 percent of respondents agree that a person earning $100,000 a year is rich. The survey also asked people how rich or poor they consider themselves with 64 percent saying they are neither.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, the 2019 poverty line for a family of four in the U.S. is an income of $25,470 a year. 12.3 percent of the population, 39.7 million people, were classed as living in poverty in 2017.

(In the eyes of the genocidal left, rich is when you are white looking and acting with 5¢.)

I think that the undocumented and under the table, sweat shop labor, homeless, are without social class. Invisible.

Documented welfare-recipients, too-big-to-fail labor and blue collars are low class. State employees and wards of the state. (Sorry unionists, low class.)

Business owners, free agents, and white collars are middle class. Independently wealthy.

Rich or high class is when you have enough money to leverage influence or change laws. Royalty and clerics are placed in this tier.

Class is based on rights, not money.

    • JustMe says:

One of my co-workers told me a recent world-wide survey determined that if you make $34,000, you are in the top 1% of the wealthy. That much money would seem a fortune to about 2/3 of the world population.

      • Beaumont 2.0 says:

I would argue that, if your net value is in the red, you shouldn’t even have status over a day laborer.

        • Genius says:

I am rich! Debt free all in the black. Make under 50K a year usually. Have 2 properties and years of preps, toys, everything I need. A great wife, dog, cats. Currency to play with and invest. I wouldn’t trade places with any so called RICH asshole. The only thing is I still have to work 6 months a year but not much longer. Life is good and stress free especially when you have SILVER and aren’t a moron with your cash. To all those people that can’t live within their means…. BLOW ME lol 🙂

    • TharSheBlows says:

At one time I was in the Top 8 to 10% of income earners as a single person. It hard to stay on top and scary when you look at the taxes that, that high amount creates for tax liability. But here in America if we are successful, we get slammed and penalized with high taxes so the Grabberment can pay for those who are not successful. Its outright communism.

So here is the other side of the equation determining rich and the benefits of being poor.

Imagine this: You are an illegal alien, get a State drivers license, work for cash only, never pay any taxes, but you get free health care Medicade, EBT Food Stamps, housing in some parts welfare, and free public education. And you even get free speech rights to bash the US and commit crimes, and you get to vote for Democrats. I also had an illegal alien chicki tell me that because she is a single parent, she get free college education. Then she says to me “Pretty smart huh”. And I’m thinking to myself, I’m the tax paying guy that is paying for those subsidies. No it is not smart to penalize success and reward failure. How’s that sham all going to end. A quick race to the bottom and destruction of our nation and economy.

Its not going to be pretty as the US, turns into a 3rd world Sh!thole.

If you live in the US you are wealthier, have the opportunity to create wealth, and a higher standard of living than kings and queens, 150 years ago.

Sewers, running water, indoor plumbing, electricity, indoor heating systems, insulated housing, washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers enable even poor people to live a life of incredible ease and luxury.

People in the US, and much of the western world, are spoiled, and take their standard of living for granted.

People will never be equal except in the facts that they were born and they will one day die. I’m sick of hearing these rich liberal elites and politicians pretend to act like they care about poor people in the US. They do not. They care only for themselves.

    • TheGuy says:

Basically correct in LA. At $100,000 you’re barely scraping by. To pretend it’s 1950 again and have kids and actually have them come up to be anything other than gender-trinary drug addicted suicidally depressed bums requires bare minimum $250,000.

Put it this way. A Saudi Oil prince moved in to our neighborhood along with all the Sony Pictures execs and they’re busy buying up land, bulldozing it, and putting up mansions, of the “mc” variety or ACTUAL in his case. Meanwhile I could walk at a leisurely pace for 20 minutes and be hanging out in a homeless tent city that’s sprung up under the freeway. It’s crystal clear how shit works around here, you’re either on top or dead meat. There’s no in between. And honestly nobody cares.

  6. Wojo says:

Without your health you can never be wealthy.

  7. The Deplorable Renegade says:

Interesting article. I’ve always considered nothing less than a seven-figure income to be any degree of wealth. But it’s also essential to consider inflation. A billion dollars these days doesn’t go as far as it used to. So if you have a net worth of one billion in today’s dollars than it’s actually less wealth than it was in, say, 1970.

  8. Anonymous says:

    How Rich Is Rich?

Rich is when somebody has something that you don’t.

  9. Maranatha says:

Wealth has been cut in half since 1990. A couple in rural Western Kentucky once could easily make 100,000 which would have to be around 200,000 in 2019. To me that is modest income, not wealth by any means.

Our friends together made $500,000 a year in 1990 but never would have considered themselves wealthy. That is $1 million in 2019.

I reckon you would have to make $5 million a year in 2019 to be wealthy and only if you had net worth of $15 million. Realize they take risks by working for themselves with a business, and one bad year can wipe them out without a cushion especially if there legal issues.

Real genuine wealth always means being saved by Jesus Christ and having an active ministry. No money can buy that. If you were free and clear on a working homestead with fruit and nut trees, crops in spring, summer, and autumn, had a fishing pond, river access with a dock, a canoe and a small boat, 2 trucks, 5 acres of woods, wild edibles, plenty of game, and solar power, I would call that wealth. All of that is better than the above example.

    • Maranatha says:

Honestly you really have to have genuine romance and friendship with a sweet devout submissive Christian wife, and have loving respectful devout children, to be a rich Christian man. You could make $40,000 a year and if you had all of that, then in some sense, you are rich

  10. If a genie gave you four wishes what would you wish?
There are many stories and in most the person wishes for money and regrets his wish.

I have never seen one of these stories where the person wished for universal wealth and prosperity for all, that utopian dream that has caused the greatest good and the worst evil.

$20,000 a year for a single person is definitely poor! (me) My neighbor, a millionaire, says his income is $1000 a day. That is (only) $365,000 a year. There are MANY in the USA that make far more than that. THOSE ARE RICH PEOPLE! People tend to become more careless with money as their income rises. The sprinkler system in my millionaire neighbor’s yard runs every day until water runs down the street into the drain! I mentioned this to him and he sluffed it off as no big deal. TAX HIM!

  13. Cue the genie jokes.
    No?
Okay, how about a midget joke?

Q: When is it okay to beat up a midget?

A: When he walks up to your girlfriend and tells her that her hair smells nice.

    • Genius says:

OK time for a rich guy bad joke lol.

One time in a bar there was this poor man
At the end of the bar was a rich man (sick muther)
The rich guy went over to the poor guy and said
How would you like to make a million dollars?
The poor guy said, sure what do I have to do?
Rich guy: If I take a shit on a plate and you eat the whole thing I will give you 1 million dollars.
Poor guy: Damm I don’t know about that….
Rich guy: Think about it, you will never be poor again
      Poorguy: Ok I’ll do it
So the rich guy got a plate and pooped on it and the poor guy started eating. He was doing good and the crowd was cheering him on! Then all of a sudden when he was down to the last bite he said
Poor guy: I can’t do it.
Rich guy: Why not your down to the last bite, you will be rich! Why can’t you eat it?
      Poor guy: There’s a hair in it…

      😛 😛 😛

True richness is to be free from another man controlling what you are allowed to do.
    Think about it.

  15. Maranatha says:

    Here’s a bad genie joke.

Three wealthy women are being driven around by an exasperated chauffeur. As he’s driving, one of the women yells out, “Stop the car! Get out and grab that bottle in the road. I’m into recycling.”

The now irate chauffeur grabs the bottle, and not too subtlely tosses it too hard into the back seat. One of the women reaches out, and her hand rubs across the bottle, and out of the bottle comes the genie.

“I am the genie of the lamp. I will grant you three women three wishes. One a piece!”

The first lady says, “Well I am wealthy. Make me five times smarter.”

The genie waves his hands. “Your wish is my command. You are five times smarter!”

Immediately the lady thinks of all sorts of new ideas and her friends can see she actually is much smarter.

The second lady says, “Well I actually am even wealthier than her. Make me ten times smarter!”

The genie waves his hands…a little more vigorously, “Your wish is my command. You are ten times smarter!”

Immediately the second lady’s vocabulary alters to words she learned while at her university. She focuses her thoughts, and realizes a way she can save her company a signficant portion on their budget and plans how to enact it.

The third lady very pleased says, “Well I am wealthier that either of my friends. Make me twenty times smarter!”

The genie grunts and groans, waves his hands with all his might, and the lady turns into a man.

  16. Redwinger says:

I’ve always heard, money wise, “you are rich if your money works for you and you don’t have to work for your money.” I’ve also heard what I call “rich people” say, “Money doesn’t buy you happiness.” Well let me have your money and let me decide for myself. But many of the posters above me are “more” correct. Being happy, healthy, having a good Christian family that is happy and healthy, and being a Christian myself makes me one of the richest. Lay up your treasures in Heaven….. And RELLIK, you are 100% correct.

  17. Kevin2 says:

First, if you’re rich, you don’t need to work to maintain your lifestyle. This is not to imply that “the rich” do not work. They don’t need to work. Secondarily their lifestyle precludes doing things because they have to as opposed to because they want to. “Well Off” is often confused with rich. Rich is confused with wealthy. Generally where one is in the economic ladder, the people above you are looked upon as one place above where they see themselves to be.

  18. Anonymous says:

Interesting that rich is defined by income. Whether your income is 10k or 100k, if it’s all spent foolishly leaving nothing to save or invest, you are poor. Nobility and kings have lost vast fortunes in this manner.

If you take whatever income you have and use it to build something that will enhance your financial future and security, then that’s another story. The problem here is Uncle’s hand in your wallet adding to the difficulty of creating wealth.

  19. Karl Marx’s theory summed up in one sentence. Hate anyone who has more than you. So to the tax addicted left anyone with more than they have is “rich” and must be taxed till they are no longer “rich”.

  20. Michael McNulty says:

Rich is when you can bitch about an economic crash but not suffer from it.

  21. TheGuy says:

How much do you have to earn before anyone even gives two shits?

    A trillion a year??

“Give me poverty and a big daddy .gov to take care of me AND give me death” appears to be the new mantra.

  22. Beaumont 2.0 says:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timocracy

Under timocracy, status was paired with civic duty. A rich, authoritative person would be able to feed the most hungry mouths.

Contrast that ancient ideal, with the present era, in which the laborer is not entitled to physical sustenance.

  23. Maranatha says:

Most thing which people presume has value are really just jointly held DELUSIONS.

Gold and silver and any previous metal is a delusion. It has no intrinsic value. People jointly agree that they are attractive metals and they have some industrial uses but alone by themselves, they are worthless.

So are diaminds, rubies, emeralds, saphires, etc.

Dollars are worthless pieces of paper and 99% of them are electronic.

Even land without ancestral skills is just dirt.

Water has an intrinsic value if potable.

An apple has intrinsic value as does wheat but if one had bushels and bushels of them, one cannot just shovel them endlessly by themselves into one’s gaping maw and survive.

Take a human being. Put them in true solitary confinement for a three months and they will go insane. Human beings need relationships as genuine romance and friendship are essential. These are basic human desires that we cannot live without.

Ultimately what is important is our relationship with the ELOHIM: FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT. That is why when you study human beings and culture and civilization, there is always spirituality.

The idea of atheism is absurd as even if one could eradicate all religions tomorrow, the very next day, human beings would create a new one.

    • Genius says:

The reason people go insane in solitary confinement is because they don’t like themselves or have mental issues. I could do 3 months solitary and be fine. As long as I had pen and paper to draw out things I think of and it would be a lot. If you don’t like yourself then you are in bad comapny alone lol. I like alone time, I’m not some social addict and I keep myself good company.

Silver has a lot of intrinsic value, it is used in hundreds of applications. WTF are you talking about? I know… let’s make pebbles currency huh? Better get on the shtick and buy some if you don’t want to be poor!

  24. Maranatha says:

7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my
sheep , and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. 17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

    John 10:7-18

Jesus came to the Earth so ALL might have the abundant life. Having an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ is having RICHES.

Look up riches and you will see the word abundant.

  25. Maranatha says:

    ht tps://biblehub.com/greek/5479.htm

Chara in Greek means joy or delight.

You are a source of delight to the ELOHIM. The ELOHIM invested everything in humanity and you are part of that humanity. Humanity are the riches that the ELOHIM desires.

The Parables of the Treasure and Pearl
    (Matthew 6:19-21)
44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
    Matthew 13:44-45

You don’t value yourself, but GOD does.
You don’t think very highly of yourself, but JESUS does.
You don’t esteem yourself as being riches, but the HOLY SPIRIT does.

The ELOHIM delight in you. You are more valuable than diamonds.

Pick a decadent celebrity in Hollyweird. What always happens? Their outrageous Luciferian lifestyle catches up as they are destroyed by drugs, alcohol, orgies, divorce, loss of wealth, and fame.

Why? Because Lucifer is the Accuser and the Destroyer. Lucifer rebeled and fell from Heaven due to pride which is the basis for sin. And so he uses accusations as he knows your every sin and seeks your temporal destuction on the Earth and then delights in destroying you perpetually in Hell.

The ELOHIM delight in humanity and esteems you all so much that Jesus came to the Earth to rescue from Lucifer.

Lucifer is the opposite. He despizes you. He wants you to sin so that he has the justifcation to destroy you.

Brian Welch of the rock group Korn gives his Christian testimony. By the world’s standards, every kind of wealth was at his command. Women threw themselves at him. He had drugs and fame. He was wealthy and had cars and a mansion.

    And it was all garbage.

Jesus Christ saved him, rescued him from Lucifer, and he was born again.

  29. Mr. Natural says:

Loving and being loved is being rich. To be alone and lonely is to be impoverished.

  30. Maranatha says:

    Real Riches

Doctor (after a physical exam) “Well heck…I can’t find anything wrong with you. You are bad for business…”

Wife (smiling) “Hey…Handsome. ‘Want to take a nap…?”

Son “Dad…I want to be like you.”

    Daughter “Papa…you’re my hero.”

  31. Anyone richer than me is too rich.
Anyone poorer than me needs to get off their lazy ass and work harder.

    See, easy to define.

  32. 41MagMan says:

Anyone making $90-100k a year is NOT “rich” but they are financially comfortable as long as they control their spending to be within their income and don’t have a lot of debt.

In 2000, my wife and I were earning $150k a year in combined salary. We never felt as if we were “rich”. To us, rich means never having to ask what something we need or want costs and we never were at that stage of financial life. We ALWAYS asked what something cost and then decided if we thought that it was worth that cost.

My wife retired in mid-2001 and I retired in late-2004. We both had good professional level jobs and had saved and invested throughout our careers. The end result was a comfortable and early retirement… her at age 51 and me at age 55. Still, this is not what I would call “rich”. But it sure is comfortable.

  33. Maranatha says:

The greatest joys of my life have been sharing the Gospel, especially with young people, and teaching them ancestral skills. It was so important that I took a cut in pay to do so.

Teaching a young person how to use a sword, or wrestle, or climb a tree, or go camping, or build a debris hut, or build a fire, or finding wild edibles, or gardening, or repairing something, or how to troubleshoot, etc…these enrich the lives of young people.

The greatest personal satisfaction was in romancing lovely sweet Christian ladies until being blessed and devoted in marriage. That gives me elation. What could ever replace being old and still kissing for hours on the couch…like teenagers??? That keeps you young. Being able to see with your mind the pretty girl that is still inside her is more valuable than gold.

Having a genuine buddy who would take a bullet for you, and willing to do the same, is like the miracle of Kipling’s Thousandth Man.

Intimately feeling the presence of the ELOHIM, and never doubting even for an instant, has been the greatest source of wealth in my life.

Having loving respectful children are more riches than a trillion dollars.

You can’t take it with you. It is YAHWEH’s money…all of it.

    • Maranatha says:

      The Thousandth Man

0NE man in a thousand, Solomon says.
Will stick more close than a brother.
And it’s worth while seeking him half your days
If you find him before the other.

      Nine hundred and ninety-nine depend
On what the world sees in you,
But the Thousandth Man will stand your friend
With the whole round world agin you.

‘Tis neither promise nor prayer nor show
Will settle the finding for ‘ee.
Nine hundred and ninety-nine of ’em go
By your looks, or your acts, or your glory.

But if he finds you and you find him,
      The rest of the world don’t matter;
For the Thousandth Man will sink or swim
      With you in any water.

You can use his purse with no more talk
Than he uses yours for his spendings,
And laugh and meet in your daily walk
As though there had been no lendings.

Nine hundred and ninety-nine of ’em call
      For silver and gold in their dealings;
But the Thousandth Man he’s worth ’em all
Because you can show him your feelings.

His wrong’s your wrong, and his right’s your right,
In season or out of season.
Stand up and back it in all men’s sight
With that for your only reason!

Nine hundred and ninety-nine can’t bide
The shame or mocking or laughter,
But the Thousandth Man will stand by your side
To the gallows-foot – and after!
      Rudyard Kipling

      From “The Forest”

DRINK to me only with thine eyes,
      And I will pledge with mine;
Or leave a kiss but in the cup,
And I ’ll not look for wine.
The thirst that from the soul doth rise 5
      Doth ask a drink divine;
But might I of Jove’s nectar sup,
I would not change for thine.

I sent thee late a rosy wreath,
Not so much honoring thee 10
As giving it a hope that there
      It could not withered be;
But thou thereon didst only breathe
      And sent’st it back to me;
Since when it grows, and smells, I swear, 15

The Things That Cause a Quiet Life

My friend, the things that do attain
The happy life be these, I find:
The riches left, not got with pain,
    The fruitful ground; the quiet mind;

    The equal friend; no grudge, no strife;
    No charge of rule nor governance;
    Without disease the healthy life;
    The household of continuance;

34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
    Mark 8:34-38

23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 25 When his disciples heard it , they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? 26 But Jesus beheld them , and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
    Matthew 19:23-26

    Treasures in Heaven
    (Matthew 13:44-46)
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

    The Lamp of the Body
    (Luke 11:33-36)
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
    Matthew 6:19-24

  36. Maranatha says:

    The Parable of the Talents
    (Luke 19:11-27)
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. 17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. 18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. 20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. 21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. 23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. 28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. 30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
    Matthew 25:14-30

  37. Maranatha says:

YAHWEH gave you life, time, talent, and treasure and you wasted them on yourself.

You expected for some altruist amd some evangelist to do the work of a thousand people.

What will YAHWEH do when you get to Heaven and you didn’t lift a finger to love your neighbor as yourself? You didn’t help one of the least of these who was suffering.

  38. Maranatha says:

You claim to be a good person, yet have scant good mesurable deeds demonstrating it.

You claim to be a Christian, yet you have nothing to show that the love of Jesus Christ penetrated your cold heart.

You should feel shame, but you revel in your sins.

Pope Francis is an antichrist and a heretic.
