Donald Trump’s Gun Comments All But Ensure His Defeat In 2020

Hopefully, the comments by president Donald Trump are a wakeup call for all Americans, as his statements should have all but sealed his fate in 2020.  Look forward to an overly leftist dictator for president in the next election cycle, although it won’t be much different than how Trump is acting now.

Just spewing the nonsense about confiscating law-abiding citizens guns before due process should be enough to send Trump packing in 2020.  The way Trump is acting, we might as well have elected Hillary Clinton, or just given Barack Obama a third term.  Unfortunately, people don’t seem to understand that we aren’t free and the government will do what it wants regardless of the rules it laid out for itself in the Constitution.

Laura Ingraham even tweeted that should he start coming for fundamental rights, he won’t have to worry about being reelected in 2020.

In the White House meeting with lawmakers of both parties, Trump endorsed multiple new gun control measures, including confiscating guns before due process, breaking with Republican lawmakers and throwing his support behind some proposals the National Rifle Association (NRA) opposes.

“I like taking the guns early like in this crazy man’s case that just took place in Florida … to go to court would have taken a long time,” Trump said at a meeting with lawmakers on school safety and gun violence. “Take the guns first, go through due process second,” Trump said. That statement is nothing less than Trump declaring he’s a tyrant and the comment itself proudly declares Trump as an egregious violator of basic fundamental human rights.

But after the Las Vegas shooting, SHTFPlan warned not to get too comfortable with your rights based on Trump’s history of gun comments.

Back in 2000, Trump laid out his views on gun control. In a page-long explanation of his stance on guns in his book The America We Deserve.  Trump assessed the differences between the two main political parties’ gun policies. He called what he said was the Democratic party‘s desire to “confiscate” guns “a dumb idea” and said Republicans “refuse even limited restrictions,” noting that they “walk the NRA line.” Instead, he cast his stance as something of a middle ground. “I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I also support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun,” he wrote.  And if that isn’t evidenced enough, Trump also agreed with Barack Obama, one of the most anti-gun presidents in modern history, after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut. –SHTFPlan

Maybe this is the wakeup call we all need to prove the government doesn’t care about our rights. It doesn’t matter who is elected, or what we expect them to do. Trump’s comments should be raising all kinds of red flags right now, and we don’t want to say we told you so, but, we told you so:

Dismissing Trump’s statements outright is simply for those who don’t know what his stance on guns was BEFORE he campaigned for the presidency and how wishy-washy he can be on the issue. Those who do know, are not being so calm about his comments.  Of course, there’s no real reason to be up in arms (no pun intended) just yet, because nothing has been proposed, but it isn’t hard to see it popping up, and soon. –SHTFPlan, October 2017

This hasn’t been a government for or by the people for over 100 years (if not more) and it’s only getting worse.  Those in power see themselves as rulers and don’t care about anything except the expansion of their own authority over others. We should stop putting our trust in the government and begin relying on ourselves because it will only worsen from here. It feels like Barack Obama’s third term just started.

Until government is smacked back into its place as servant of the people this crap will continue,

    • Menzoberranzan says:

No doubt Nail. There’s no one to vote for anymore and I won’t be voting for the other side of the same coin either. This can only go one way.. WAR

    • It is not going to happen. Too many people still want the governments “assistance” and will do nothing to bite the hand that feeds them.

      • John Stiner says:

Canada and Australia freely gave up their guns, no fight.

        • The Deplorable Braveheart says:

JS, we’re NOT Canada or Australia.

        • Kevin2 says:

Both had complete registration. Federally that only exists with NFA 34 weapons and accruements in the US. Once purchased they could be legally sold or given to a non prohibited person within your State. I suspect a lot of people who are deceased got a lot of guns too acquiring many privately. Who knows where they are.

        • Hard Justice says:

Non-sense! Canada has alot guns, more than people think, and that’s a good thing, OPSEC. Just because people aren’t bragging about it or always thumping their chest about it doesn’t mean there are no guns.

This quote below was in 1992, there are more guns now and how many that aren’t registered must be close to 30+ million guns now almost 1 gun for every person in Canada.

“According to the United Nations, Canada ranks third among the developed western countries (behind the US and Norway) in civilian ownership of firearms.[40] A 1992 survey sponsored by the UN reported that 26% of
Canadians, over 7,000,000 people, own firearms.[41] A 1991 Justice Department telephone survey indicated there were an average of 2.67 firearms in one of every four Canadian Households, with 71% having access to a rifle, 64% to a shotgun, and 12% to a handgun. They calculated that there are over six million legally owned firearms in
Canada. Other authorities insist that this estimate is much too low and that there are at least 20,000,000 rifles and shotguns in Canada; as many, per capita, as in the United States”

    • John Stiner says:

When in the course of human events has that ever happened? Never.

    • Red Lion says:

And people call progs crazy and irrational. Trump has says some stupid crap in the moment only to back track of end up doing the right thing. He is being corrected. He knows that he has to honor the 2nd amendment or he will be a one term POTUS.

  2. Beaumont says:

So long it’s chipped, or you paid the Stamp Tax. Due process means crony capitalism, with this one. What is the mental block.

  3. OMG, now the ZOG is forcing Hillary’s daughter to be the president. Nice planning.

  4. Heartless says:

Let me rephrase ‘Oh Great Orange One’ – “try and take the guns first without due process and you’ll send a lot of people to the cemetery.” There you “F”‘in idiot, fixed it. You may feel free to quote me. No charge.

  5. bobby b says:

“Look forward to an overly leftist dictator for president in the next election cycle, although it won’t be much different than how Trump is acting now.”

Yeah, let’s work on weakening Trump’s chances in 2020 so that we can get that leftist dictator elected, plus lots of progressive senators and reps carried through on presidential coattails, which will be followed quickly by new Supreme Court appointments, which will be followed quickly by the overturning of Heller and the passage of gun restrictions and bans that we haven’t even imagined yet.

All due to your pique over Trump not being exactly what you want.

  6. Anyone who knows Trump knows he was always a gun grabbing Democrat until he wanted to run for president. He would like nothing better than NYC style gun control across America. The only people allowed to have guns would be the rich and their protection.

  7. cranerigger says:

Mr. President, lets get this straight, the problem is not with the inanimate objects (firearms). Libtards, like Chuck Schumer will sell you down the river in a minute. Their unconstitutional ideas will assure you of failure. They are not to be trusted. Most of these cowardly attacks on no-gun-zones were due to existing laws & rules. The occasional trained & armed person will hugely reduce the number of attacks. These trained & armed people will act as deterrents to other terrorists also.

  8. JayJay says:

“Take the guns first, go through due process second,” Trump said.
Regarding the unstable kid in Florida that had already proven he was unstable, I agree.
Trump needs to investigate the legality of law ennforcement/schools looking the other way when crimes are committed bt students –just to increase the school’s reputation.
Yes, the principal, the sheriff, the FBI failed to do their jobs—oh, maybe their focus is too intent on lemonade stands by children, paper guns in kindergarten, and houses displaying American flags to have the time to do what they are paid to do–educate our children, make our nation safe, and stop shootings at schools!!!

  9. Bert says:

Wouldn’t need guns if the judges executed criminals. No one would even miss the 50 million thugs that deserve it.

    • Concerned Citizen 1776 says:

Bert: Very true. Too many of these liberal puke, so called judges are running a revolving door of a courtroom. If these savages commit these awful, violent crimes, keep their asses in prison for Christ sakes.

  10. Concerned Citizen 1776 says:

I can honestly say that I have ZERO faith in any and all gov’t, be it local, state or federal ZERO faith in them period. All they do is grown like a tumor on a monkeys ass…

    • They even deceive each other. It would be good to be a fly on the wall and watch them decimate each other over “power and control.” Unfortunately, i am still here.

    • awed bawl says:

good. history shoeth that all “governments” were established for only one reason- economic exploitation. That is, to use force to take the property of another.

“Government” is a rationalization to do things that, if done by private citizens, would be called crimes. Government exists to enslave. The Founders said “to secure these rights.” So when in history has that ever happened? Were they lying?

Looks to me that “governments” are established to VIOLATE rights.

What is the difference between government and mafia? MAFIA NEVER CLAIMED TO SERVE THE PUBLIC.

Americans drank the Kool-Aid about government being the servant.

The Anti-Federalists warned about what would happen if

See The Constitution of No Authority by Lysander Spooner. This was one of my school books in the 3rd grade. . .

  11. aljamo says:

Not necessarily that Trump will be cast aside, each follow up presidency seems to be worse than the last. A different face always holds a prospect of change forthcoming then expected reality sets in. For the majority a lose-lose situation exists before any votes are cast. Voters have become numb to results and accept whatever goes with minor complaining that dies down. It is hard to break the typical 8 year cycle of office holding. A third side candidate would likely be the same as these two because it’s hard to tell these two apart from each other.

  12. The sky is falling oh no… Did any of you smart guys think that Trump is playing the dems?

    • Oldgoat says:

CPB, I agree with you wholeheartedly! This is how Trump plays the game and it leaves the rest in the dust. This will all turn out positively for those that have and want weapons for their own protection!!

      • rednek101 says:

Old Goat is on the right track. Trump uses provocative statements to push people into action. Been seeing this for a while. Remember “go for it, shut down the government”. I think he uses this style to motivate our impotent/senile congress into action. Already the GOP is stepping away from of most of the components of the new gun control measures. Trump already knows it won’t pass. Let’s see where he takes this then pass judgment.

Bull. Trump is a traitor!! Just like Obama!! I voted for Obama because he promised to un-do the shit Bush did. Instead, he not only DID NOT RESTORE our constitutional rights– he expanded on Bush’s agenda… just as Trump is doing… its all a game and they are winning.

  13. OregonBuzz says:

I was as dismayed as most when I read that quote from Mr. Trump. I voted for him and would probably do so again as the lesser of two evils. At this point I’m taking a wait and see attitude as Mr. Trump does not always show his hand like that. He may be setting up the other side, but……
There was a tyrant from another era who expressed his views on an armed populace.
“The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subjected people to carry arms; history shows all conquerors who have allowed the subjected people to carry arms have prepared their own fall.” Adolf Hitler

  14. Dave says:

There is 1 event that would ensure the suspension of the 2nd amendment, and I am surprised it hasn’t happened. Almost did. Now that they have momentum, I think that it will be the next false flag!

  15. redyellowblackdog says:

In the recent case of the Florida school shooting, no ignoring of due process would have been required to confiscate the gun(s) of the shooter. The man did make terroristic threats for which he could have been charged with a crime. Once so charged, his gun(s) could have been taken away.

    • Annabel Morgan says:

Exactly. And that’s pretty much what Trump is talking about. He’s not talking about “confiscating law-abiding citizens’ guns”, as this article claims. In context, he was clearly referring to individuals who have made terroristic threats and given reason to believe they are planning to commit violence.

  16. Relax, calm down. We are all ready for the worst. This isn’t it yet. Trump says stuff, but makes good on the promises later. So far he said something we don’t like to hear. But it doesn’t mean he isn’t going to play the other side for fools again. Let it play out, let him know we don’t like it, but let it play out. Keep in mind we almost had Hillary. Hope isn’t dead yet.

  17. Old Guy says:

Trump like all the other puppets before him will do as he is told. Its all a circus act. The Military are in charge. Only the military can get away with not accounting for 25% of its massive budget. The military is a heavy hand strong arm dictator. they dictate what who when and how. they control all the places like Mt weather,Fort Knox,Gitmo and Area 51 ect. Its the military that’s is afraid of a armed citizenry. The Military wants the NWO. The USA is in decline . Going down fast deep in debt no chance of recovery. So the only avenue is for the USA military to position itself to be the top dog when the NWO is ushered in.

Exactly, B from CA… Once they get the guns, they can do whatever they want to us– we will be at thjeir mercy!

And did they show the American Indians any mercy? HELL NO!!

Did they show any mercy to the numerous countries they invaded the last few years– pretending to spread democracy when in reality– they DESTRROYED COUNTRIES AND KILLED MILLIONS?? hell, no, they showed no mercy!!

      • The Deplorable Braveheart says:

Anonymous, someone will take your guns ONLY IF YOU LET THEM AND YOU SHOW THEM NO MERCY IF/WHEN THEY ATTACK YOU. I won’t be at anyone’s mercy and I’ll show NO mercy to whoever confronts me.

        • Anonymous says:

FWIW, if you walked the way you talk you’d be dead so I assume you do it to inflame the gullible into doing something stupid the same as all the other agent agent provocateurs do.

          • The Deplorable Braveheart says:

Anonymous, once again you misunderstand me. I only offer advice. I never force anything on anyone otherwise I would probably be dead from THAT. Everyone is free to do what they consider best for themselves, even you. No agent provocateur here.

    • Kevin2 says:

      B from CA

Communism has become an euphemism for totalitarianism. It matters little if the boot on your throat contains a communist or fascist foot. The globalist corporate controllers aren’t communists. They hire communists as human resource managers. The animals on a farm live under communism but the farm is not a communist enterprise.

  20. rellik says:

One possible outcome is a big turn out to vote against Democrats in the mid terms. I’ve noted he will make some irritating remarks to move his agenda forward, but they are remarks not actions.
His main use to us, is the appointment of young conservative federal judges.

  21. Annabel Morgan says:

To be fair, Trump was talking about confiscating weapons from an individual who has made terroristic threats and has given clear reason to believe he will commit violence. That is quite a different scenario than just “confiscating law-abiding citizens’ guns without due process.”

  22. Kevin2 says:

While my first choice of those in the running was Dr Rand Paul MD we ended up with Trump v Hillary. It’s a no brainer that we’re far better off with Trump. Its intellectually dishonest to say otherwise however Trump is an authoritarian not a Constitutionalist. He gained no support from the left as they are just embolden but lost support from his base. In the end if the US Supreme Court did its job none of this would be an issue. Rulings, like Heller which was intentionally narrow, just add to the problem.

    • awed bawl says:

Trump is an authoritarian not an American.

America was founded on Individual Rights. So who talks about that anymore?

When was the last time a Repubican or Demoncrat advocated Private Property?

America was toast when it allowed government into education. The “public schools” were socialist monopolies from the start. They got away with it by not using the “S” word. The pledge of allegiance [to the Flag of the United State] was written by Francis Bellamy- a national socialist [1892].

How many have heard of Looking Backward: 2000-1887? By Edward Bellamy [Francis’ cousin]. . .This book had almost as much influence as marx’s communist manifesto. Looking back over the glorious socialist 20th century. pdf available here:

Every time you Pledge Allegiance you are actually pledging allegiance to SOCIALISM. . .and you wonder what went wrong.

  23. Grunty McPhereson says:

Gonna go with the wait-n-see’ers on this one. Hearing Trump say those things was horrifying to me, but he has used this MO a number of times (spout off some bs to get the demtards in a tizzy, and then watch his plan float into place). This happened on taxes, govt shutdown, etc.

Just need to chill a bit and see where this goes.

Go read Marx and Lenin…pol pot… the people need to think of themselves as the salt of the earth and governments as unmitigated evil and so have no fear, should stand up to them and if they go to protests and be brutalized by the police, then they need to go armed to the protest…”

“You can’t make any kind of meaningful change these days without violence. The governments has shown they will use massive violence against their own peoples! So the people outnumber them and they can use MORE VIOLENCE against the government.”

“They have their agenda in place. No one man can change that. I mean, go back and listen to his address. ”

“I think the governments are so totally corrupt and evil that you can’t appeal to their moral conscience– they don’t have one. You can’t appeal to justice– they couldn’t care less.”

“So what are you going to do when you’re faced with governments like that? There’s nothing you can do but kill them!! There’s no other alternative.”

“The people have to realize they’re up against evil! They either submit to it or they overthrow it. There’s no other way.”

Trump has made fools out of his supporters, although there are those that are willing to come up with ridiculous rationalizations about how Trump is playing 97D chess. To continue to support Trump at this point is like walking freely into a gas chamber and holding onto promises that it isn’t a gas chamber, just a friendly place to take a shower.
