A Record Number Of Cargo Ships Are Backlogged Of The California Coast

Around 65 ships are backlogged off the California coast, resulting in empty shelves in stores as the latest sign of a destroyed supply chain surfaces.  The ships are stuck outside the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, which handle 40% of all cargo containers entering the country.

We have all likely noticed the shelves not fully stocked at our local grocery stores and department stores. Retailers and manufacturers have rushed to place orders and restock their inventories, but the global shipping system is struggling to keep up and now with the backlog of ships sitting off the coast, we could see a major shrinkage in the products available for purchase.

Gene Seroka, head of the Port of LA, last week warned that a “significant volume” of cargo was “headed our way throughout this year and into 2022.” He added: “We continue to monitor a host of variables; disruptions continue at every node in the supply chain.”

PREPPING FOR THE UPCOMING GOVERNMENT-INDUCED FOOD SHORTAGES

According to a report by the BBC, on Saturday a record 73 ships were stuck off the coast, which amounts to almost twice as many as at the same time in August. Some cargo ships have been diverted because of the backlog, which is preventing thousands of containers from being unloaded.

But nearby ports like Oakland do not have the capacity to deal with the volume of trade. At the Port of LA alone, the amount of cargo handled is up 30% this year so far, compared with the whole of 2020.

This is just one more issue that will add to the increase in food prices as well. As more dollars chase fewer goods, inflation will continue to surge.

Prepare to be able to eat without going to the grocery store. Work toward self-sufficiency. The rulers are afraid of those who are prepared to leave their sinister system at a moment’s notice in order to continue to survive the upcoming disastrous food shortages.

      1. Don’t we have a strategic food reserve in some salt caverns somewhere?

        • We? Who’s we? Certainly not you… They… Is more accurate.

          • Good observation.

        • do your own…the government is not here to take care of your food needs…or any other for that matter.

        • It’s a little bit of humor. There is a strategic oil reserve.

Why always so serious? The stress will kill you…sheesh

      2. Yes but not for us!!!!

      3. JRS

I think those are for the Elite…….

      4. That might explain why a record number of store shelves are empty too.

      5. Ships crews, port pilots, tugboat crews, crane crews, truck drivers, etc. have been UNDER-appreciated for far too long. As one of these guys that make the world function, I think of the joke where each of the body’s organs claims to be the most important. Then the portal to the body’s most nether region provides a non-function demonstration for a week – until all the other organs concede the nether-region-portal is the most important. What a relief to have it function again. Just think of that the next time you disparage me (& my fellow workers) for not spending most of my career in an office.

        • But I thought you were a scientist, killer.

          • Reading comprehension is important. Earlier posts stated that my wife was an accomplished scientist, with over 100 scientific publications & other achievements. I worked in a facility that built sattelite launch vehicles.

            Semper Fidelis.

        • If I understand you right, you’re saying you’re an asshole?

          • Obviously !!!!

      6. FWIW, fuel panic in England as they lack enough drivers to drive the tanker trucks that deliver it.

Same thing could happen with food or any other commodity, it isn’t always a shortage of the product that causes shortages to the consumer.

      7. Anyone who didn’t see this coming is not paying attention. We have a large sect of workers who are being fired, let go or are leaving due to the mandates. Every single person I know is making major changes in their jobs, where they work and how they live. If even 10% of the workers in every company leave there will be problems.. for all of us.
The supply chains have been strained for over a year and if you think for one minute the elite are going to “allow us” to travel, celebrate and get together with family and friends over the holidays, you are kidding yourself. The Prez is sounding more and more like a dictator everyday and we will look back on 2021 and see how easy it was compared to what we will dealing with next year. I would suggest stocking up even more and shopping for Christmas early. Our supply chain will only get worse and if you see something you want or need, buy it while its in stock. I think they will mandate the shot for air travel before the holidays. Then they will restrict interstate travel by cars. They are already talking about mandating the shots for kids….then it will be babies. Stores will continue to shut down as they have no workers or merchandise. Crime is increasing and will continue to as we let hoards of people in across the borders with no oversight.
AND if you haven’t read about the carbon credits they want to start next year, you should. Control your travel. Control your red meat intake. Control the amount of your utilities. Control your mode of travel. Control how much you can travel. They are just getting started. We all must stay ahead of the pack. The majority of the people are not planning. Stay safe ya’ll…

      8. Did the writer explain why all those cargo ships are “backlogged”? Why they’re sitting out there? Is it because there’s not enough people to unload them? Not enough to trucks to take the goods away?

      9. Translation: California is blockading America.

This has got to be a historical first; no nation has ever blockaded itself, not even to gin a crisis.

        • You seem to be correct. I believe ports of Seattle, New Orleans (hurricane season), Boston, Portland ME, New York, Miami, etc., are not optimally efficient now.

This destruction of our society is self-induced due to the over-reaction and wrong actions in response to Covid-19. Thinking people knew that a society may not isolate itself as a reaction to disease & hope to retain viability. LIFE can be dangerous, but you may NOT hide from it and hope to thrive.

Sure, you mitigate exposure where it is reasonable. You try to maintain optimal health where it is reasonable. Not everyone in our society is serving in an Ebola Ward.

      10. In the end they will just line us all up against the wall and shoot us . Prepare accordingly !!!

      11. Didn’t we read that CHINA controls those ports???

Are they doing this on purpose? and blaming Cov.id19 ???

“Never let a crisis go to waste…”

Equivalent to starving us out..but with goods instead of food.
