Ron Paul’s Farewell to Congress: “The Answers Are To Be Found In More Liberty”

This may well be the last time I speak on the House Floor. At the end of the year I’ll leave Congress after 23 years in office over a 36 year period. My goals in 1976 were the same as they are today: promote peace and prosperity by a strict adherence to the principles of individual liberty.

It was my opinion, that the course the U.S. embarked on in the latter part of the 20th Century would bring us a major financial crisis and engulf us in a foreign policy that would overextend us and undermine our national security.

To achieve the goals I sought, government would have had to shrink in size and scope, reduce spending, change the monetary system, and reject the unsustainable costs of policing the world and expanding the American Empire.

The problems seemed to be overwhelming and impossible to solve, yet from my view point, just following the constraints placed on the federal government by the Constitution would have been a good place to start.

    How Much Did I Accomplish?

In many ways, according to conventional wisdom, my off-and-on career in Congress, from 1976 to 2012, accomplished very little. No named legislation, no named federal buildings or highways – thank goodness. In spite of my efforts, the government has grown exponentially, taxes remain excessive, and the prolific increase of incomprehensible regulations continues. Wars are constant and pursued without Congressional declaration, deficits rise to the sky, poverty is rampant and dependency on the federal government is now worse than any time in our history.

All this with minimal concerns for the deficits and unfunded liabilities that common sense tells us cannot go on much longer. A grand, but never mentioned, bipartisan agreement allows for the well-kept secret that keeps the spending going. One side doesn’t give up one penny on military spending, the other side doesn’t give up one penny on welfare spending, while both sides support the bailouts and subsidies for the banking and corporate elite. And the spending continues as the economy weakens and the downward spiral continues. As the government continues fiddling around, our liberties and our wealth burn in the flames of a foreign policy that makes us less safe.

The major stumbling block to real change in Washington is the total resistance to admitting that the country is broke. This has made compromising, just to agree to increase spending, inevitable since neither side has any intention of cutting spending.

The country and the Congress will remain divisive since there’s no “loot left to divvy up.”

Without this recognition the spenders in Washington will continue the march toward a fiscal cliff much bigger than the one anticipated this coming January.

I have thought a lot about why those of us who believe in liberty, as a solution, have done so poorly in convincing others of its benefits. If liberty is what we claim it is- the principle that protects all personal, social and economic decisions necessary for maximum prosperity and the best chance for peace- it should be an easy sell. Yet, history has shown that the masses have been quite receptive to the promises of authoritarians which are rarely if ever fulfilled.

    Authoritarianism vs. Liberty

If authoritarianism leads to poverty and war and less freedom for all individuals and is controlled by rich special interests, the people should be begging for liberty. There certainly was a strong enough sentiment for more freedom at the time of our founding that motivated those who were willing to fight in the revolution against the powerful British government.

During my time in Congress the appetite for liberty has been quite weak; the understanding of its significance negligible. Yet the good news is that compared to 1976 when I first came to Congress, the desire for more freedom and less government in 2012 is much greater and growing, especially in grassroots America. Tens of thousands of teenagers and college age students are, with great enthusiasm, welcoming the message of liberty.

I have a few thoughts as to why the people of a country like ours, once the freest and most prosperous, allowed the conditions to deteriorate to the degree that they have.

Freedom, private property, and enforceable voluntary contracts, generate wealth. In our early history we were very much aware of this. But in the early part of the 20th century our politicians promoted the notion that the tax and monetary systems had to change if we were to involve ourselves in excessive domestic and military spending. That is why Congress gave us the Federal Reserve and the income tax. The majority of Americans and many government officials agreed that sacrificing some liberty was necessary to carry out what some claimed to be “progressive” ideas. Pure democracy became acceptable.

They failed to recognized that what they were doing was exactly opposite of what the colonists were seeking when they broke away from the British.

Some complain that my arguments makes no sense, since great wealth and the standard of living improved for many Americans over the last 100 years, even with these new policies.

But the damage to the market economy, and the currency, has been insidious and steady. It took a long time to consume our wealth, destroy the currency and undermine productivity and get our financial obligations to a point of no return. Confidence sometimes lasts longer than deserved. Most of our wealth today depends on debt.

The wealth that we enjoyed and seemed to be endless, allowed concern for the principle of a free society to be neglected. As long as most people believed the material abundance would last forever, worrying about protecting a competitive productive economy and individual liberty seemed unnecessary.

    The Age of Redistribution

This neglect ushered in an age of redistribution of wealth by government kowtowing to any and all special interests, except for those who just wanted to left alone. That is why today money in politics far surpasses money currently going into research and development and productive entrepreneurial efforts.

The material benefits became more important than the understanding and promoting the principles of liberty and a free market. It is good that material abundance is a result of liberty but if materialism is all that we care about, problems are guaranteed.

The crisis arrived because the illusion that wealth and prosperity would last forever has ended. Since it was based on debt and a pretense that debt can be papered over by an out-of-control fiat monetary system, it was doomed to fail. We have ended up with a system that doesn’t produce enough even to finance the debt and no fundamental understanding of why a free society is crucial to reversing these trends.

If this is not recognized, the recovery will linger for a long time. Bigger government, more spending, more debt, more poverty for the middle class, and a more intense scramble by the elite special interests will continue.

    We Need an Intellectual Awakening

Without an intellectual awakening, the turning point will be driven by economic law. A dollar crisis will bring the current out-of-control system to its knees.

If it’s not accepted that big government, fiat money, ignoring liberty, central economic planning, welfarism, and warfarism caused our crisis we can expect a continuous and dangerous march toward corporatism and even fascism with even more loss of our liberties. Prosperity for a large middle class though will become an abstract dream.

This continuous move is no different than what we have seen in how our financial crisis of 2008 was handled. Congress first directed, with bipartisan support, bailouts for the wealthy. Then it was the Federal Reserve with its endless quantitative easing. If at first it doesn’t succeed try again; QE1, QE2, and QE3 and with no results we try QE indefinitely – that is until it too fails. There’s a cost to all of this and let me assure you delaying the payment is no longer an option. The rules of the market will extract its pound of flesh and it won’t be pretty.

The current crisis elicits a lot of pessimism. And the pessimism adds to less confidence in the future. The two feed on themselves, making our situation worse.

If the underlying cause of the crisis is not understood we cannot solve our problems. The issues of warfare, welfare, deficits, inflationism, corporatism, bailouts and authoritarianism cannot be ignored. By only expanding these policies we cannot expect good results.

Everyone claims support for freedom. But too often it’s for one’s own freedom and not for others. Too many believe that there must be limits on freedom. They argue that freedom must be directed and managed to achieve fairness and equality thus making it acceptable to curtail, through force, certain liberties.

Some decide what and whose freedoms are to be limited. These are the politicians whose goal in life is power. Their success depends on gaining support from special interests.

    No More ‘isms’

The great news is the answer is not to be found in more “isms.” The answers are to be found in more liberty which cost so much less. Under these circumstances spending goes down, wealth production goes up, and the quality of life improves.

Just this recognition – especially if we move in this direction – increases optimism which in itself is beneficial. The follow through with sound policies are required which must be understood and supported by the people.

But there is good evidence that the generation coming of age at the present time is supportive of moving in the direction of more liberty and self-reliance. The more this change in direction and the solutions become known, the quicker will be the return of optimism.

Our job, for those of us who believe that a different system than the one that we have had for the last 100 years, has driven us to this unsustainable crisis, is to be more convincing that there is a wonderful, uncomplicated, and moral system that provides the answers. We had a taste of it in our early history. We need not give up on the notion of advancing this cause.

It worked, but we allowed our leaders to concentrate on the material abundance that freedom generates, while ignoring freedom itself. Now we have neither, but the door is open, out of necessity, for an answer. The answer available is based on the Constitution, individual liberty and prohibiting the use of government force to provide privileges and benefits to all special interests.

After over 100 years we face a society quite different from the one that was intended by the Founders. In many ways their efforts to protect future generations with the Constitution from this danger has failed. Skeptics, at the time the Constitution was written in 1787, warned us of today’s possible outcome. The insidious nature of the erosion of our liberties and the reassurance our great abundance gave us, allowed the process to evolve into the dangerous period in which we now live.

    Dependency on Government Largesse

Today we face a dependency on government largesse for almost every need. Our liberties are restricted and government operates outside the rule of law, protecting and rewarding those who buy or coerce government into satisfying their demands. Here are a few examples:

    • Undeclared wars are commonplace.
    • Welfare for the rich and poor is considered an entitlement.
    • The economy is overregulated, overtaxed and grossly distorted by a deeply flawed monetary system.
    • Debt is growing exponentially.
    • The Patriot Act and FISA legislation passed without much debate have resulted in a steady erosion of our 4th Amendment rights.
    • Tragically our government engages in preemptive war, otherwise known as aggression, with no complaints from the American people.
    • The drone warfare we are pursuing worldwide is destined to end badly for us as the hatred builds for innocent lives lost and the international laws flaunted. Once we are financially weakened and militarily challenged, there will be a lot resentment thrown our way.
    • It’s now the law of the land that the military can arrest American citizens, hold them indefinitely, without charges or a trial.
    • Rampant hostility toward free trade is supported by a large number in Washington.
    • Supporters of sanctions, currency manipulation and WTO trade retaliation, call the true free traders “isolationists.”
    • Sanctions are used to punish countries that don’t follow our orders.
    • Bailouts and guarantees for all kinds of misbehavior are routine.
    • Central economic planning through monetary policy, regulations and legislative mandates has been an acceptable policy.

    Questions

Excessive government has created such a mess it prompts many questions:

    • Why are sick people who use medical marijuana put in prison?
    • Why does the federal government restrict the drinking of raw milk?
    • Why can’t Americans manufacturer rope and other products from hemp?
    • Why are Americans not allowed to use gold and silver as legal tender as mandated by the Constitution?
    • Why is Germany concerned enough to consider repatriating their gold held by the FED for her in New York? Is it that the trust in the U.S. and dollar supremacy beginning to wane?
    • Why do our political leaders believe it’s unnecessary to thoroughly audit our own gold?
    • Why can’t Americans decide which type of light bulbs they can buy?
    • Why is the TSA permitted to abuse the rights of any American traveling by air?
    • Why should there be mandatory sentences – even up to life for crimes without victims – as our drug laws require?
    • Why have we allowed the federal government to regulate commodes in our homes?
    • Why is it political suicide for anyone to criticize AIPAC ?
    • Why haven’t we given up on the drug war since it’s an obvious failure and violates the people’s rights? Has nobody noticed that the authorities can’t even keep drugs out of the prisons? How can making our entire society a prison solve the problem?
    • Why do we sacrifice so much getting needlessly involved in border disputes and civil strife around the world and ignore the root cause of the most deadly border in the world-the one between Mexico and the US?
    • Why does Congress willingly give up its prerogatives to the Executive Branch?
    • Why does changing the party in power never change policy? Could it be that the views of both parties are essentially the same?
    • Why did the big banks, the large corporations, and foreign banks and foreign central banks get bailed out in 2008 and the middle class lost their jobs and their homes?
    • Why do so many in the government and the federal officials believe that creating money out of thin air creates wealth?
    • Why do so many accept the deeply flawed principle that government bureaucrats and politicians can protect us from ourselves without totally destroying the principle of liberty?
    • Why can’t people understand that war always destroys wealth and liberty?
    • Why is there so little concern for the Executive Order that gives the President authority to establish a “kill list,” including American citizens, of those targeted for assassination?
    • Why is patriotism thought to be blind loyalty to the government and the politicians who run it, rather than loyalty to the principles of liberty and support for the people? Real patriotism is a willingness to challenge the government when it’s wrong.
    • Why is it is claimed that if people won’t or can’t take care of their own needs, that people in government can do it for them?
    • Why did we ever give the government a safe haven for initiating violence against the people?
    • Why do some members defend free markets, but not civil liberties?
    • Why do some members defend civil liberties but not free markets? Aren’t they the same?
    • Why don’t more defend both economic liberty and personal liberty?
    • Why are there not more individuals who seek to intellectually influence others to bring about positive changes than those who seek power to force others to obey their commands?
    • Why does the use of religion to support a social gospel and preemptive wars, both of which requires authoritarians to use violence, or the threat of violence, go unchallenged? Aggression and forced redistribution of wealth has nothing to do with the teachings of the world great religions.
    • Why do we allow the government and the Federal Reserve to disseminate false information dealing with both economic and foreign policy?
    • Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority?
    • Why should anyone be surprised that Congress has no credibility, since there’s such a disconnect between what politicians say and what they do?
    • Is there any explanation for all the deception, the unhappiness, the fear of the future, the loss of confidence in our leaders, the distrust, the anger and frustration? Yes there is, and there’s a way to reverse these attitudes. The negative perceptions are logical and a consequence of bad policies bringing about our problems. Identification of the problems and recognizing the cause allow the proper changes to come easy.

    Trust Yourself, Not the Government

Too many people have for too long placed too much confidence and trust in government and not enough in themselves. Fortunately, many are now becoming aware of the seriousness of the gross mistakes of the past several decades. The blame is shared by both political parties. Many Americans now are demanding to hear the plain truth of things and want the demagoguing to stop. Without this first step, solutions are impossible.

Seeking the truth and finding the answers in liberty and self-reliance promotes the optimism necessary for restoring prosperity. The task is not that difficult if politics doesn’t get in the way.

We have allowed ourselves to get into such a mess for various reasons.

Politicians deceive themselves as to how wealth is produced. Excessive confidence is placed in the judgment of politicians and bureaucrats. This replaces the confidence in a free society. Too many in high places of authority became convinced that only they, armed with arbitrary government power, can bring about fairness, while facilitating wealth production. This always proves to be a utopian dream and destroys wealth and liberty. It impoverishes the people and rewards the special interests who end up controlling both political parties.

It’s no surprise then that much of what goes on in Washington is driven by aggressive partisanship and power seeking, with philosophic differences being minor.

    Economic Ignorance

Economic ignorance is commonplace. Keynesianism continues to thrive, although today it is facing healthy and enthusiastic rebuttals. Believers in military Keynesianism and domestic Keynesianism continue to desperately promote their failed policies, as the economy languishes in a deep slumber.

Supporters of all government edicts use humanitarian arguments to justify them.

Humanitarian arguments are always used to justify government mandates related to the economy, monetary policy, foreign policy, and personal liberty. This is on purpose to make it more difficult to challenge. But, initiating violence for humanitarian reasons is still violence. Good intentions are no excuse and are just as harmful as when people use force with bad intentions. The results are always negative.

The immoral use of force is the source of man’s political problems. Sadly, many religious groups, secular organizations, and psychopathic authoritarians endorse government initiated force to change the world. Even when the desired goals are well-intentioned – or especially when well-intentioned – the results are dismal. The good results sought never materialize. The new problems created require even more government force as a solution. The net result is institutionalizing government initiated violence and morally justifying it on humanitarian grounds.

This is the same fundamental reason our government uses force for invading other countries at will, central economic planning at home, and the regulation of personal liberty and habits of our citizens.

It is rather strange, that unless one has a criminal mind and no respect for other people and their property, no one claims it’s permissible to go into one’s neighbor’s house and tell them how to behave, what they can eat, smoke and drink or how to spend their money.

Yet, rarely is it asked why it is morally acceptable that a stranger with a badge and a gun can do the same thing in the name of law and order. Any resistance is met with brute force, fines, taxes, arrests, and even imprisonment. This is done more frequently every day without a proper search warrant.

No Government Monopoly over Initiating Violence

Restraining aggressive behavior is one thing, but legalizing a government monopoly for initiating aggression can only lead to exhausting liberty associated with chaos, anger and the breakdown of civil society. Permitting such authority and expecting saintly behavior from the bureaucrats and the politicians is a pipe dream. We now have a standing army of armed bureaucrats in the TSA, CIA, FBI, Fish and Wildlife, FEMA, IRS, Corp of Engineers, etc. numbering over 100,000. Citizens are guilty until proven innocent in the unconstitutional administrative courts.

Government in a free society should have no authority to meddle in social activities or the economic transactions of individuals. Nor should government meddle in the affairs of other nations. All things peaceful, even when controversial, should be permitted.

We must reject the notion of prior restraint in economic activity just we do in the area of free speech and religious liberty. But even in these areas government is starting to use a backdoor approach of political correctness to regulate speech-a dangerous trend. Since 9/11 monitoring speech on the internet is now a problem since warrants are no longer required.

    The Proliferation of Federal Crimes

The Constitution established four federal crimes. Today the experts can’t even agree on how many federal crimes are now on the books – they number into the thousands. No one person can comprehend the enormity of the legal system – especially the tax code. Due to the ill-advised drug war and the endless federal expansion of the criminal code we have over 6 million people under correctional suspension, more than the Soviets ever had, and more than any other nation today, including China. I don’t understand the complacency of the Congress and the willingness to continue their obsession with passing more Federal laws. Mandatory sentencing laws associated with drug laws have compounded our prison problems.

The federal register is now 75,000 pages long and the tax code has 72,000 pages, and expands every year. When will the people start shouting, “enough is enough,” and demand Congress cease and desist.

    Achieving Liberty

Liberty can only be achieved when government is denied the aggressive use of force. If one seeks liberty, a precise type of government is needed. To achieve it, more than lip service is required.

    Two choices are available.

    <ol >

    • A government designed to protect liberty – a natural right – as its sole objective. The people are expected to care for themselves and reject the use of any force for interfering with another person’s liberty. Government is given a strictly limited authority to enforce contracts, property ownership, settle disputes, and defend against foreign aggression.
    • A government that pretends to protect liberty but is granted power to arbitrarily use force over the people and foreign nations. Though the grant of power many times is meant to be small and limited, it inevitably metastasizes into an omnipotent political cancer. This is the problem for which the world has suffered throughout the ages. Though meant to be limited it nevertheless is a 100% sacrifice of a principle that would-be-tyrants find irresistible. It is used vigorously – though incrementally and insidiously. Granting power to government officials always proves the adage that: “power corrupts.”

Once government gets a limited concession for the use of force to mold people habits and plan the economy, it causes a steady move toward tyrannical government. Only a revolutionary spirit can reverse the process and deny to the government this arbitrary use of aggression. There’s no in-between. Sacrificing a little liberty for imaginary safety always ends badly.

Today’s mess is a result of Americans accepting option #2, even though the Founders attempted to give us Option #1.

The results are not good. As our liberties have been eroded our wealth has been consumed. The wealth we see today is based on debt and a foolish willingness on the part of foreigners to take our dollars for goods and services. They then loan them back to us to perpetuate our debt system. It’s amazing that it has worked for this long but the impasse in Washington, in solving our problems indicate that many are starting to understand the seriousness of the world -wide debt crisis and the dangers we face. The longer this process continues the harsher the outcome will be.

The Financial Crisis Is a Moral Crisis

Many are now acknowledging that a financial crisis looms but few understand it’s, in reality, a moral crisis. It’s the moral crisis that has allowed our liberties to be undermined and permits the exponential growth of illegal government power. Without a clear understanding of the nature of the crisis it will be difficult to prevent a steady march toward tyranny and the poverty that will accompany it.

Ultimately, the people have to decide which form of government they want; option #1 or option #2. There is no other choice. Claiming there is a choice of a “little” tyranny is like describing pregnancy as a “touch of pregnancy.” It is a myth to believe that a mixture of free markets and government central economic planning is a worthy compromise. What we see today is a result of that type of thinking. And the results speak for themselves.

    A Culture of Violence

American now suffers from a culture of violence. It’s easy to reject the initiation of violence against one’s neighbor but it’s ironic that the people arbitrarily and freely anoint government officials with monopoly power to initiate violence against the American people – practically at will.

Because it’s the government that initiates force, most people accept it as being legitimate. Those who exert the force have no sense of guilt. It is believed by too many that governments are morally justified in initiating force supposedly to “do good.” They incorrectly believe that this authority has come from the “consent of the people.” The minority, or victims of government violence never consented to suffer the abuse of government mandates, even when dictated by the majority. Victims of TSA excesses never consented to this abuse.

This attitude has given us a policy of initiating war to “do good,” as well. It is claimed that war, to prevent war for noble purposes, is justified. This is similar to what we were once told that: “destroying a village to save a village” was justified. It was said by a US Secretary of State that the loss of 500,000 Iraqis, mostly children, in the 1990s, as a result of American bombs and sanctions, was “worth it” to achieve the “good” we brought to the Iraqi people. And look at the mess that Iraq is in today.

Government use of force to mold social and economic behavior at home and abroad has justified individuals using force on their own terms. The fact that violence by government is seen as morally justified, is the reason why violence will increase when the big financial crisis hits and becomes a political crisis as well.

First, we recognize that individuals shouldn’t initiate violence, then we give the authority to government. Eventually, the immoral use of government violence, when things goes badly, will be used to justify an individual’s “right” to do the same thing. Neither the government nor individuals have the moral right to initiate violence against another yet we are moving toward the day when both will claim this authority. If this cycle is not reversed society will break down.

When needs are pressing, conditions deteriorate and rights become relative to the demands and the whims of the majority. It’s then not a great leap for individuals to take it upon themselves to use violence to get what they claim is theirs. As the economy deteriorates and the wealth discrepancies increase – as are already occurring – violence increases as those in need take it in their own hands to get what they believe is theirs. They will not wait for a government rescue program.

When government officials wield power over others to bail out the special interests, even with disastrous results to the average citizen, they feel no guilt for the harm they do. Those who take us into undeclared wars with many casualties resulting, never lose sleep over the death and destruction their bad decisions caused. They are convinced that what they do is morally justified, and the fact that many suffer just can’t be helped.

When the street criminals do the same thing, they too have no remorse, believing they are only taking what is rightfully theirs. All moral standards become relative. Whether it’s bailouts, privileges, government subsidies or benefits for some from inflating a currency, it’s all part of a process justified by a philosophy of forced redistribution of wealth. Violence, or a threat of such, is the instrument required and unfortunately is of little concern of most members of Congress.

Some argue it’s only a matter of “fairness” that those in need are cared for. There are two problems with this. First, the principle is used to provide a greater amount of benefits to the rich than the poor. Second, no one seems to be concerned about whether or not it’s fair to those who end up paying for the benefits. The costs are usually placed on the backs of the middle class and are hidden from the public eye. Too many people believe government handouts are free, like printing money out of thin air, and there is no cost. That deception is coming to an end. The bills are coming due and that’s what the economic slowdown is all about.

Sadly, we have become accustomed to living with the illegitimate use of force by government. It is the tool for telling the people how to live, what to eat and drink, what to read and how to spend their money.

To develop a truly free society, the issue of initiating force must be understood and rejected. Granting to government even a small amount of force is a dangerous concession.

Limiting Government Excesses vs. a Virtuous Moral People

Our Constitution, which was intended to limit government power and abuse, has failed. The Founders warned that a free society depends on a virtuous and moral people. The current crisis reflects that their concerns were justified.

Most politicians and pundits are aware of the problems we face but spend all their time in trying to reform government. The sad part is that the suggested reforms almost always lead to less freedom and the importance of a virtuous and moral people is either ignored, or not understood. The new reforms serve only to further undermine liberty. The compounding effect has given us this steady erosion of liberty and the massive expansion of debt. The real question is: if it is liberty we seek, should most of the emphasis be placed on government reform or trying to understand what “a virtuous and moral people” means and how to promote it. The Constitution has not prevented the people from demanding handouts for both rich and poor in their efforts to reform the government, while ignoring the principles of a free society. All branches of our government today are controlled by individuals who use their power to undermine liberty and enhance the welfare/warfare state-and frequently their own wealth and power.

If the people are unhappy with the government performance it must be recognized that government is merely a reflection of an immoral society that rejected a moral government of constitutional limitations of power and love of freedom.

If this is the problem all the tinkering with thousands of pages of new laws and regulations will do nothing to solve the problem.

It is self-evident that our freedoms have been severely limited and the apparent prosperity we still have, is nothing more than leftover wealth from a previous time. This fictitious wealth based on debt and benefits from a false trust in our currency and credit, will play havoc with our society when the bills come due. This means that the full consequence of our lost liberties is yet to be felt.

But that illusion is now ending. Reversing a downward spiral depends on accepting a new approach.

Expect the rapidly expanding homeschooling movement to play a significant role in the revolutionary reforms needed to build a free society with Constitutional protections. We cannot expect a Federal government controlled school system to provide the intellectual ammunition to combat the dangerous growth of government that threatens our liberties.

The internet will provide the alternative to the government/media complex that controls the news and most political propaganda. This is why it’s essential that the internet remains free of government regulation.

Many of our religious institutions and secular organizations support greater dependency on the state by supporting war, welfare and corporatism and ignore the need for a virtuous people.

I never believed that the world or our country could be made more free by politicians, if the people had no desire for freedom.

Under the current circumstances the most we can hope to achieve in the political process is to use it as a podium to reach the people to alert them of the nature of the crisis and the importance of their need to assume responsibility for themselves, if it is liberty that they truly seek. Without this, a constitutionally protected free society is impossible.

If this is true, our individual goal in life ought to be for us to seek virtue and excellence and recognize that self-esteem and happiness only comes from using one’s natural ability, in the most productive manner possible, according to one’s own talents.

Productivity and creativity are the true source of personal satisfaction. Freedom, and not dependency, provides the environment needed to achieve these goals. Government cannot do this for us; it only gets in the way. When the government gets involved, the goal becomes a bailout or a subsidy and these cannot provide a sense of personal achievement.

Achieving legislative power and political influence should not be our goal. Most of the change, if it is to come, will not come from the politicians, but rather from individuals, family, friends, intellectual leaders and our religious institutions. The solution can only come from rejecting the use of coercion, compulsion, government commands, and aggressive force, to mold social and economic behavior. Without accepting these restraints, inevitably the consensus will be to allow the government to mandate economic equality and obedience to the politicians who gain power and promote an environment that smothers the freedoms of everyone. It is then that the responsible individuals who seek excellence and self-esteem by being self-reliance and productive, become the true victims.

    Conclusion

What are the greatest dangers that the American people face today and impede the goal of a free society? There are five.

    1. The continuous attack on our civil liberties which threatens the rule of law and our ability to resist the onrush of tyranny.

    2. Violent anti-Americanism that has engulfed the world. Because the phenomenon of “blow-back” is not understood or denied, our foreign policy is destined to keep us involved in many wars that we have no business being in. National bankruptcy and a greater threat to our national security will result.

    3. The ease in which we go to war, without a declaration by Congress, but accepting international authority from the UN or NATO even for preemptive wars, otherwise known as aggression.

    4. A financial political crisis as a consequence of excessive debt, unfunded liabilities, spending, bailouts, and gross discrepancy in wealth distribution going from the middle class to the rich. The danger of central economic planning, by the Federal Reserve must be understood.

    5. World government taking over local and US sovereignty by getting involved in the issues of war, welfare, trade, banking, a world currency, taxes, property ownership, and private ownership of guns.
Happily, there is an answer for these very dangerous trends.

What a wonderful world it would be if everyone accepted the simple moral premise of rejecting all acts of aggression. The retort to such a suggestion is always: it’s too simplistic, too idealistic, impractical, naïve, utopian, dangerous, and unrealistic to strive for such an ideal.

The answer to that is that for thousands of years the acceptance of government force, to rule over the people, at the sacrifice of liberty, was considered moral and the only available option for achieving peace and prosperity.

What could be more utopian than that myth – considering the results especially looking at the state sponsored killing, by nearly every government during the 20th Century, estimated to be in the hundreds of millions. It’s time to reconsider this grant of authority to the state.

No good has ever come from granting monopoly power to the state to use aggression against the people to arbitrarily mold human behavior. Such power, when left unchecked, becomes the seed of an ugly tyranny. This method of governance has been adequately tested, and the results are in: reality dictates we try liberty.

The idealism of non-aggression and rejecting all offensive use of force should be tried. The idealism of government sanctioned violence has been abused throughout history and is the primary source of poverty and war. The theory of a society being based on individual freedom has been around for a long time. It’s time to take a bold step and actually permit it by advancing this cause, rather than taking a step backwards as some would like us to do.

Today the principle of habeas corpus, established when King John signed the Magna Carta in 1215, is under attack. There’s every reason to believe that a renewed effort with the use of the internet that we can instead advance the cause of liberty by spreading an uncensored message that will serve to rein in government authority and challenge the obsession with war and welfare.

What I’m talking about is a system of government guided by the moral principles of peace and tolerance.

The Founders were convinced that a free society could not exist without a moral people. Just writing rules won’t work if the people choose to ignore them. Today the rule of law written in the Constitution has little meaning for most Americans, especially those who work in Washington DC.

Benjamin Franklin claimed “only a virtuous people are capable of freedom.” John Adams concurred: “Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

A moral people must reject all violence in an effort to mold people’s beliefs or habits.

A society that boos or ridicules the Golden Rule is not a moral society. All great religions endorse the Golden Rule. The same moral standards that individuals are required to follow should apply to all government officials. They cannot be exempt.

The ultimate solution is not in the hands of the government.

The solution falls on each and every individual, with guidance from family, friends and community.

The #1 responsibility for each of us is to change ourselves with hope that others will follow. This is of greater importance than working on changing the government; that is secondary to promoting a virtuous society. If we can achieve this, then the government will change.

It doesn’t mean that political action or holding office has no value. At times it does nudge policy in the right direction. But what is true is that when seeking office is done for personal aggrandizement, money or power, it becomes useless if not harmful. When political action is taken for the right reasons it’s easy to understand why compromise should be avoided. It also becomes clear why progress is best achieved by working with coalitions, which bring people together, without anyone sacrificing his principles.

Political action, to be truly beneficial, must be directed toward changing the hearts and minds of the people, recognizing that it’s the virtue and morality of the people that allow liberty to flourish.

The Constitution or more laws per se, have no value if the people’s attitudes aren’t changed.

To achieve liberty and peace, two powerful human emotions have to be overcome. Number one is “envy” which leads to hate and class warfare. Number two is “intolerance” which leads to bigoted and judgemental policies. These emotions must be replaced with a much better understanding of love, compassion, tolerance and free market economics. Freedom, when understood, brings people together. When tried, freedom is popular.

The problem we have faced over the years has been that economic interventionists are swayed by envy, whereas social interventionists are swayed by intolerance of habits and lifestyles. The misunderstanding that tolerance is an endorsement of certain activities, motivates many to legislate moral standards which should only be set by individuals making their own choices. Both sides use force to deal with these misplaced emotions. Both are authoritarians. Neither endorses voluntarism. Both views ought to be rejected.

I have come to one firm conviction after these many years of trying to figure out “the plain truth of things.” The best chance for achieving peace and prosperity, for the maximum number of people world-wide, is to pursue the cause of LIBERTY.

If you find this to be a worthwhile message, spread it throughout the land.

As well thought out as RP’s reflections are, the saddest and most tragic thing of all is that they are falling on the truly deaf ears of a dumbed down America—now in crash mode—as evidenced by the election.

Big labor, teachers’ unions, the corrupt media, many banksters and the heads of pop culture outlets, among others, have stealth Marxists who have carjacked the values of which Paul bemoans. In other words, it’s a systematic revolution from within, much like termites who collapse the framework of a house over time, one bite at a time.

This era has no chance of approaching the Greatest Generation. Instead, it’s the generation who first gave away the store and now joins in the ransacking of it.

With that said IMO no one man especially in the BS profession of politics has a chance of making a difference. It’s way beyond that point. If he ever won which he wouldn’t, he would be killed before the confetti hit the ground.

I applaud you if you voted for him but you had to know in the back of you mind it was a waste of time.

Nothing short of revolution, disaster or attack will effect the current course (positively or negatively). Don’t fool yourself into to thinking otherwise..

Ron lacked the good looks and charisma to get the job.  Plain and simple; if you are a good liar and can look good while doing it, you will win the “popular” vote everytime.

The idea that we should show respect and appreciation to God’s creatures before consumption is one that many of all faiths and creeds can relate to. Both Kosher and Halal food are based on the principles of respect, appreciation & gratitude for what our creator provides for us.

The intentions behind some GMO food developments are what should concern us all. Our creator’s wisdom & the miracle of his design are not respected in the production of cloned/GMO corp agri-food.  Please don’t let the tptb standard technique of divide and conquer divert our attention to the atrocities being committed against our food supply.  Clean uncontaminated food is a basic requirement of life, and this is being eroded year on year – as it the basic right to produce it for ourselves via crop contamination etc, etc.

This is an issue that those of strong faith from both sides of the Islamo-Christian divide can unite on and work together for the benefit of ALL our Grandchildren’s health if we can only see past our petty predjudices to do so.

Please let me clarify; the point behind libertarianism is the freedom of choice.  I have the freedom of religion, and should have the free choice of NOT having a halal turkey on my table based on MY religious belief.

The free market system allows me to support, with my purchase, business owners with similar beliefs if I so choose.  Dr. Paul advocates this freedom of choice.  Butterball has the right to sell halal turkey, and I have the right to purchase from another source.  When the halal information is withheld, I am not able to make an informed purchase.  My rights have been limited.

I have read 1cor25, and find it in conflict with 1 cor19-21 and as Libertarian I have the freedom to follow my faith and my heart.  I freely choose to follow 1cor19-21.  That is the beauty of the American way.

It angers me.  Personally, I have stopped buying Butterball products.  I will vote with my money and choose products that support my values. (At least now I know what symbols are used when food is “Halal certified.”)

The Halal ritual symbolizes the animal is killed as an OFFERING TO ALLAH.   As a Christian, I don’t want to eat that food.

Is there a generational difference in view about “halal” food?  Most of the older people are UPSET when they find this out.  Many of the younger people don’t seem to care.

It must be the changing of the times.  Some have worked hard to remove God from our schools, courthouses and community life.  What is next?

I agree Ron Paul was an inspirational leader.  He was fearless to speak the truth, even when others didn’t want to hear it.  He and his voice of reason will be missed.

I didn’t intend to offend anyone here.  Thought I was passing along some timely information as people are shopping for Thanksgiving.

Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

As an IT person…  my strategy is to get the NWO middle mgt. by the balls.  I run their technology and they are MY slaves.  Just this year I scored a $12k raise by threatening to leave…as these jerks had no clue how I ran things and refused to train or document anything.   It was easier for them to give me a raise.  Later the bosses quite..  I’ll play the same game with the next round of NWO bone-heads.   They are my slaves!

Liberty will always find a way.

I took the fund and bought silver and gold for my retirement.

MONKEY WRENCH…IF NOT TRYING TO BREAK THINGS….MAKE THEM BETTER..BUT MAKE SURE THEY PAY YOU VERY WELL FOR IT.

          THEY ARE MY NWO SLAVES!

          THINK DIFFERENTLY ABOUT THIS.

For IT folks, buy used books off of Amazon…forget all the elbow rubbing lunches.  Learn your trade and learn it well.  Soon you will be walking through the halls of corporate America “swinging your dick” and all will get out of your way.   This is the action of the resilient American.  If you take away my freedom, liberty and trash my currency…  I’ll make you pay and equalize things.

Embrace this “NWO’ and suck off it what you can.  Put a financial tax on it.

          Revenge of the cubicle dweller!

You won’t be able to beat the NWO…but at least….work it towards your benefit.    ps.  I also bought some guns and ammo for my future grand children as they will ban these in time.

If you want to fight the NWO…do what I am doing along with my crew of IT guys..  learn the technology…  In time we will start hundreds of .com site…be self employed and help turn Americans back into business owners.

          Think about it.

          Become one of the 1%.

Then you will be in a position to fight back against the NWO and the UN.

You will not be able to do anything as a home depot slave working in the tile department.

Live large, live free…set up your own systems, run things and enslave the NWO through technology.   I used to think like many on this site…this is the evolution of my thinking.   It works…  It’s Prepping 2.0.  IT style.

Final thought..  Focus on your career….NOT your job and all will be well.

Be mobile and be willing to walk out.

Yea, I want to hear the answer to that question myself.

I have the answer to “How the NWO doesn’t win”.   It is biblical and prophesied and will happen just as it has been foretold.

One of the nations/powers/factions of the NWO/BEAST will receive a “deadly wound”.  That puts the brakes on the NWO for a short while.  That wound could be WWIII where a third of mankind is killed, it could be North America killing the Idea of the NWO involvement by a revolution, it could be that the Super Power of Superpowers has pulled away from the NWO involvement thru outrage and elections.  We just don’t know for sure.  But we do know that the “wound is healed” and that healing will be done by the entrance of Antichrist coming into power “Peacefully and Prosperously”.

Have no fear all yea of little faith!  His power and authority will only last for “FIVE MONTHS”.   Anyone that has been prepping for any time at all should have at least “six” months worth of provisions.  That’s all it will take to keep you safe and from taking the “Mark Of The BEAST(NWO,One World System) Identity Chip” in order to buy or sell and pay allegience to the antichrist.  That “allegience” to Antichrist to partake of “his” system will get you a one way ticket to the Lake of Fire.

The “true” Christ, Jesus Christ, will return “after” the “five months” of Antichrist to set things straight once and for all.  Praise the Lord and pass the potatoes (and turkey bird), it is a good time to be alive.  Look up, for your rememption draweth nigh!

So what???    But I’m sure based on your “one person” comment that the whole of the gay movement secretely started with a group of gay folks saying lets change things once we get a shit load of us together since we are all too scared to do anything alone!!  Especially since you feel it not possible for just one person to get “the change” started. And you are who to tell Christians what they must not do? If you can tell us it “isn’t our place” to do such-and-such, then Christians CAN tell you it isn’t your place to marry another man.  But, hey, don’t take it from us, in fact we Christians didn’t make the rules about homosexuality:
“If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.” Leviticus 12:13
And the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.”   Romans 1:27

There are many more explicit scriptures concerning that homosexuality is WRONG.  You, as a liberal, expect me to accept your opinion that homosexuality is normal.  But, you as a liberal, do not accept my opinion that you are wrong and God is right.

Thus, you suffer from the very intolerance which you so vigorously oppose in others.

And homosexuality is good because it “rescues” some falling statistic? How valid a proof is that?  Remember to capitalize God, He, Himself in the future.  You only have until your life leaves you to repent of  and correct your unbelief:

Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?” Rom 2:4

          You still have a chance

much was added, changed, edited and translated improperly from the ancient works that it was drawn from.

God, did NOT come down and hold the pen, unlike what some uneducated brothers think…

              If you have difficulty with this, read the letter of the translators in the original KJV… what did it say? To boil it down in paraphrase;

The King made us do it…

The Babylonian/Grecian/Roman/European/AMERICAN System is a Triune system, money, politics and religion, designed to keep to keep you in line…

This is the lesson of the statue of Nebuchadnezzar, the Preacher men are taught and follow ‘the rules’ for their 30 pieces of silver (tax breaks)…

And you all love it, because you love money above God, thus the love of money is the root of all evil.

@ copperhead.  Not surprising as the nazca plate has had several earthquakes on it and that plate affects the Caribbean and this affects the New Madrid.  Besides that those two earthquakes of 4.9 and 4.8 on the Mid Atlantic Ridge were redirected back from the central San Andres fault and the very most southern tip of the New Madrid.  I wonder if one day we have a swarm of 8-9 pointers, I really wonder as I am not sure of this happeneing one way or the other.

Much as I like Ron Paul for his undying support of our Constitution, I have always found it very disturbing that he never understood that the hostility of the Islamic world towards us has nothing whatsoever to do with our policies toward them, past or present.

Islam is actually proud of being a militant religion that has spent its’ entire career since its’ founding destroying, by fire and sword and explosives,  any other religion that it ever came into contact with.   Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, you name it, they are seen at best as useful slaves or subjects for brutal murder.   Does the daily persecution and frequently the  immolation of  Copts in Egypt under the Muslim Brotherhood owe anything to American foreign policy?  Did the destruction of Buddhist (or was it Hindu) monuments in Afghanistan?  (And just yesterday we learn that they now want to destroy the Sphinx and the Pyramids!)   Gaza is blessed with beautiful beaches, which could be developed to bring untold millions of tourist dollars to the region, but they’d rather collect welfare and launch rockets into Israel.  North Africa was the breadbasket of the Roman Empire.  It had extensive irrigation systems and terracing to make the land green and productive.  The Muslim onslaught in the 7th century destroyed all that, leaving the near desolation we see today.   Was that the result of American foreign policy?

How a man with the perspicacity of Ron Paul could be so blind to reality with regard to foreign policy simply amazes me, and many others.

Commence with the Red Thumbs, you Paulites.  Makes no difference to me.

Why don’t YOU take some time and do a little digging and learn the history of Iran, then ask yourself: ” Walt, consider the Persians, the Medes, the Assyrians, Huns, Parthians, Arabs, Mongols, Turks, etc etc etc.  I see that these kingdoms were more imperialist, dictatorial, violent, oppressive, brutal and cruel than the U.S. ever thought about being. ”  And no, the U.S. did not create these empires, and their hostility was not/is not a product of U.S. aggression.  Oh, BTW, the Persians invented crucifixion, a particularly redeeming and worthwhile invention of theirs.

It is naive to think that other countries would just “live and let live” if we would just get out of their business.  A foreign policy like that is not viable for the U.S.

Hey…guess what.  Iran (or Persia if you will) wasn’t bothering us back in 1953 when the Brits and our government decided that they didn’t like who the people of Iran picked to be their leader.  So….we got rid of him.

Yes sir…..no blow back from that, was there?

Ron Paul is an awesome Patriot. Sad that so few saw him as credible, for that, you can thank the parasite’s msm.

It is an interesting day. People in 50 states have filed petitions to secede, over 700,000 as of this post. As of this writing, over 100,000 in Texas alone, that is a bit shocking to me; did’nt think there were that many real Texans left.

The oh-so-rightious left, who threatened to burn the country down, and leave, if mittens had been installed instead of obummer, have petitioned to strip the citizenship of those who have petitioned to secede. I keep forgetting, only the left is allowed to have free speech. The parasites must be fuming, trying to figure out how to add the seccession pheomenon to thier martil-law wet dreams. They are fuming that people are connecting, and may even use this as an excuse to lock down the web.

It probably would have been easier, and more efficatious for everyone to petition to bulldoze dc, and it’s infestation into the sea.

Either way, The United States seems to have run it’s course. Never thought I’d even entertain that notion in my lifetime. The people of this country are divided within, one side is bent on owning your mind, and reducing you to 3rd world policte state socialist hell. The rest of the people just want to be left alone, imagine that.

On so many fronts this day, a whirlwind of events is taking place, a massive web of intrigue and controlled chaos. This is the time the Founders warned us about, knew would one day come.

Ron Paul has done all he can. Now, we will either throw of the yoke of tyranny, or die as slaves.

    47. Be informed says:

I have mentioned this before but it deserves repeating.  Long ago the Greeks had a set of requirements that would make a good leader of the people.  Someone whom would lead the people and not expect anything in return.  In other words they choose to lead not because they would get special rewards from the people, the society, even God and the afterlife rewarding them.  They made the personal choice to lead because they wanted to do what was right for ALL of the people and the society at large.  They of course had to be paid in food, shelter, and health to be able to function, but nothing special.  They choose to be a leader to guide the people to better.  They were humble in other words and committed to the society to make it as good for everyone as possible.

I think an individual like Ron Paul and some other rare individuals fit this descriptions, not perfectly but well.  What happens to these individuals that truly make an effort to be a true patriot and representative of the people?  They are ostracized and made to look like whack jobs, or patronized or treated condescendingly to put it in a different way.  When they gain more power they are stonewalled and achieve little like poor Ron paul feels like.

A wonderful older film is “Mr. Smith goes to Washington” with James Stewart about someone who goes to the capital bright eyed and brushy tailed all ready to make changes for the betterment of the people.  He finds out there is a sick game of corruption and “politics” that someone has to play or they become obsolete and accomplish nothing.  This was made back in 1940 when the leaders still had some values, and would never sell out their country to the enemy, like these treasonists today have done to China.  That is China, way worse than the nazis or japanese, the country of China that has hundreds of intercontinental ballasitic missiles aimed and ready to launch at the U.S.  Courtesy of the coddling up to the enemy that laws of the “fearless” leaders in Washington have allowed to continue with China.

By the way China is one of three countries to actually put a person into space, so they easily have ICBM technology.  While many MSM give ridiculous numbers of China only possessing a few dozen ICBM’s and nuclear weapons that are less than back in 1980, the truth is frightening.  China has hundreds of ICBM’s, probably between at bare minimum of 200 to several hundred or more.  A recent article on Yahoo gave at least 3000 nukes.  Not surprising of a country that first had nuclear weapons in 1964, and a country that was estimating by the World Almanac back in 1980 as having 400 nukes.

By to Mr Smith movie, this was made in 1940, and politics sucked back then, but at least the leaders back then would have been tried for treason and sent to the electric chair for dealing with the enemy and hurting national security.  Now it is accepted because Chinese goods are cheap and make politicians a lot of friends with those in this country that only care about profit above the survivial of their country.  Corruption back then basically stayed in this country and money flowed into the wealthy’s hands, but it stayed in the country.  Now it goes to the enemy.  They have sanctions against Iran and many other countries that threaten the U.S. Well how about against a country that end the very life of the U.S. in the time it takes for a flood of ICBM’s to reach the U.S. from China, less than 30 minutes.

Simply put, Ron Paul, and other politicians have gotten tired of swimming in the cess pool of politics too long and have decided to get out before their personal health takes its toll on their bodies.  At least now, good men and good women that truly tried from all parties that choose to remove themselves from this debacle can rest and live their lives and let the country implode in on itself.

A story circulated some several months ago relative to one of the many Chinese ‘billionaires’ who had succesfully extracted/expatriated himself after having previously mananged to smuggle his family out of the country. As this story goes, he was priviledged to a meeting (or the details thereof…this point is NOT clear) wherein a senior politburo member asserted that a nuclear strike against America was ‘easily accomplished’. HOWEVER, a top ranking member of the Chinese military immediately interjected that, “The desire is not to anihilate the Americans with nuclear weapons as this would render the soil of the ‘breadbasket of the world’ useless for years. The solution to the problem lies in a ‘biologic’ approach…”

        Well stated…

and factual regarding how evil China is

..slaughtered more citizens than Stalin,Lenin, or Hitler all told.yet we now trade with them and who also hold over a trillion dollars of US treasuries ..go figure.Unfortunately, or fortunately, China has now ceased buying our debt and now our illustrious Ben and his cohorts are buying their own debt at a tune of 1000 million dollars a month(40 billion +)with QE3 ad infinitum!…and passing this debt on to us the middle class. This is where I supported Dr Paul 100% on the Federal Reserve(central banks) and its well planned destruction of ours and the worlds economies.

This is the root of all our demise..and Europe’s as well..and he clearly understood the absolute evil behind the central banks..they fund at zero% all the banks who in turn leverage out that loaned money up to 700%!!!..and then implode entire nations with this toxic debt issued as legitimate bonds..how  quaint..

They also fund the black opps who in turn train and foment the terrorists..creating instability and fearmongering..allowing the UN ,US,or NATO to save the day..topple regimes and the big boys come in and plunder the resources at our expense in blood and dollars..it’s all a giant hoax perpetrated on all of us..left right or independent..and has been for centuries…It was done by England over the opium wars.. and on and on it goes..never ending.Again that is why Ron Paul adhered to his non intervention stance..

As far as a nuclear threat, it too is a hoax..remember back in Reagan’s era the Star Wars scenario..ell that has been in place for decades since the 70′s..just research or ask any analyst from that era.every single NASA shuttle mission was, under the cover,  a military operation for that sole purpose..but that is another story all in itself.

In closing, I did not get this info off the web..but from direct family involved/employed by State Dept and ‘national security”agencies back in the 70′s and 80′s..

Continue your tireless postings on the earthquakes..fascinating info..

We have allowed vile selfish men with cold dead hearts to sentence us to collapse. We let the tree of liberty perish for want of concern. Only when things get so ugly that life is unbearable, will we stand up and give our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor, to preserve the remnants of our country. I weep, for we have lost that which made our country unique. Thank you Mr Paul, you are America’s Cassandra.

The situation we are in economically and other wise is all planned..well planned. and has nothing to do with either the left or right..they are mere actors who benefit from following orders and are rewarded handsomely for life..unless they step out of line.

Truly,TSHTF is well underway as we speak..Europe is rapidly imploding and exploding,Middle East on fire ready to explode, major earthquakes daily on a global scale(nod to beinformed),unemployment increasing, inflation rising, food commodities to skyrocket soon, weather disasters unheard of,stock market dropped 1000 since qe3 destroying trillions of the middle class’s investments 401′s etc, secession petitions from 50 states(clearly a message if nothing more),major military coup unfolding..4 generals in a week fall on the sword?…yet all we get on msm is salacious sex scandals to satisfy the masses..

And even more propaganda is this from one of the news bits:

“Before the storm distorted the figures, weekly applications had fluctuated between 360,000 and 390,000 since January. At the same time, employers have added an average of nearly 157,000 jobs a month. That’s barely enough to lower the unemployment rate, which was 7.9 percent in October.

There are some signs that the job market is improving. Employers added 171,000 jobs in October and hiring in August and September was stronger than first estimated. The economy has gained an average of 173,000 jobs a month since July. That’s up from an average of 67,000 a month in April through June.”

“Before the storm distorted figures” <– WHO has been distorting figures??

I always thought it was interesting how Paul seemed to get as much, if not more, respect when he would appear on mainstream, liberal media shows, like MSNBC or something, compared to at least SOME of the shows on Fox News.

Maybe they were just trying to be nice to him…but sometimes it really seemed like they were thinking, “Hmmm…well, actually that kinda makes sense…”…well, at least when he was talking about REALLY ending the wars and legalizing marijuana…but hey, it’s  a start…

The one good thing I see coming out of all of “this,” assuming you agree with most of Paul’s ideals, is that the day of smaller, less intrusive government IS coming.

Sure, we may have to endure a lot of pain before we get there, but IMHO, we are pretty much witnessing the end (or at least the beginning of the end) of big government, centrally planned economies, etc., etc. right now – e.g., see Europe.

Yeah, I know we seem to be heading in the wrong direction RIGHT NOW…but I really think we will be forced in the other direction when “the bill” is finally due here in the U.S.  When does that happen?  I don’t know…maybe later this decade…?

…well, the other possible outcome I see is a complete breakdown of society…from which we won’t recover within my lifetime…

…but for some reason, I’m trying to be optimistic today…

Anyway, thanks, Ron.  You are one of the few politicians I’ve ever really trusted because you are one of the very few who consistently tried to give yourself LESS power/control…not more.

Dr.Ron Paul is a man if integrity. His clear, consistent grasp of the value of limited constitutional government has been the hallmark of his political career. His message of individual liberty and personal responsibility has become the rallying cry for a new generation of freedom lovers in America. It is sad to see him go. But the battle is not lost. To be sure, tough times lie ahead for our nation. However, the ideals Dr. Paul espoused will live on. It is WE, who carry on after him, and our children, and their children, who will see to it that the concept of individual liberty will survive…and, ultimately, prevail. When the time comes, that America is again a nation of Moral people, then we will most certainly be a Free people.

Ron Paul will be sorely missed as a lone voice of sanity, crying out from the asylum. Few people in Washington, for the past hundred years, have been his equal. None have been his better.

Dr. Paul has been the lone voice of liberty lo these many years.

This discourse reminds me of the Head of Gold… the Rule of Gold, that; He who has the Gold, makes the Rules…

But I hate to say it, re-monetizing gold will not save us, it has always been as much problem as panacea, because the scarcity of it will always return power to the money changers…

Money itself must become ‘free’ in order for mankind to become Free.

The Real bills doctrine, modified for the automatic monetizing of your value, is the only way. This could be a primary function of a Temple of God, the source of the ‘water of life’ that turns the Wheel of life. So it can be on Earth as it is in Heaven, and purpose of life becomes Joy, not perpetual debt slavery.

        God bless

      • What is the Purpose of Liberty?

This was laid out as the premise of the Pursuit of Happiness, or Joy of Life.

Without a new money system, based on the bottom up value of the people, without centralization or ‘rent’ being paid to the money changers, there can be only perpetual debt, which takes Joy from the Earth.

All the ‘rights’ and ‘liberty’ you have, were lost on the altar of money, and that was because we defied the Founders, Jefferson in particular… we laid down on the altar of Liberty and took a nap… so if you search for blame, look in the mirror…

The banks and the corporations that grew up around them, having taken us on the ride of the century, now takes the land we conquered, and will leave us as serfs paying rent to the Owners. This is the magic of centralized money, the Game of Life; Pump and Dump writ large. This was the great weakness of the Constitution, that money was defined as a rich mans game. Thus we gave up an aristocracy of royalty, for an aristocracy of money.

Until we learn this lesson, that all revolutions were born because of money, taxes and consequences, we have learned nothing.

The Treadmill of Immorality is born on the back of rich man’s inflation, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, causing all people to seek immoral ways to stay in place on the treadmill, until it breaks…

        We’re almost there, again.

This time, we must learn not to allow the Love of Money to give the Phoenix that rises from the ashes, power and control over us again by our own Love of Money; the Root of all evil.

So that the Meek shall inherit the Earth, not the rich.
That we may “pound our swords into plowshares… and neither shall they learn war, anymore”… for war is the result of the ideologies of rich men and religions of men.

But first you must connect the dots between God, Joy and Wealth. That wealth is not found in materialism or numbers on paper, but in loves, lives and land, and that God lives in the minds and lands, not the ideologies and religions of men.

You must understand, that whether you believe in Him or not, you got a better deal from God given rights, than from the Privileges granted by rich men…

Two news stories of importance.  First of all ANOTHER earthquake, 6.0 in Mexico just a little north of the the northeastern corner of the Caribbean plate.  It is coming and the plate is what you would call in the hospice stages of the inevitable.

Next the palestinians have just fired a Fajr-5 missile at Israel and it exploded just south of Tel-Aviv in Rishon Lezion.  This missile if about half the size of a telephone pole and carries a 385 pound warhead.  If they can get that to Tel-Aviv in the desely populated area next time, the war is on in Gaza.  Whether Hezbollah joins in, which Iran is hopeful of to bottle up Israeli armed forces, is the real story here.  Egypt of course is calling for support of the palestinians, but who knows how they will react to this.  Everything is heating up rapidly.

@ kimintn.  If I was going to bet on which fault is going to go first I would actually say the Cascadia, then a very close second would be the Caribbean plate, then the San Andreas, and finally the New Madrid.  I think out of these four hot spots the New madrid is the one least likely to break first or second.  I think that the other faults have to go first, then the New Madrid.  WHEN the Caribbean plate goes I truly feel it will be in the low 8 range minimum, mosre likely mid to high 8 range.  Could it go over 9, yes but I don’t think it will.  The tsunami from this will catch many, many people of guard.

Yesterday, I warned about the arabs in Gaza using those Fajr 5 rockets on Israel.  Since then at least 2 have hit within a few miles of Tel Aviv, the one was 3 miles out of the densely packed areas.  You can see the most updated news from what is going on over there at the Haaretz news site on their live blog.  This site is the best to see what is happening right now.  Yesterday I said that Israel would go after Hamas in a very violent reaction should one or more of those missiles hit Tel Aviv and kill a lot of people.  So far Hamas has yet to home in using these rockets as they have not yet to use them and have to get use to firing them.

The Fajr 5 rocket is classified as a medium range missile, not the short range used up to now.  When Hezbollah used these they packed the warhead with metal pieces, like buckshot in a shotgun.  Normally a 385 pound high explosive charge will take out most buildings within about 160 feet, and heavy damage buildings within about 400 feet.  In a city you can see the death toll of such an explosion from such a missile.  This area would be an average city block in size from the impact site.

Like Hezbollah that is known to possess large missiles, it is believed that Hamas has bigger rockets that carry much more explosives, some as big as 1320 pounds.   When you approach over a half ton of explosives you start getting very serious.  These missiles called “earthquake” would however be difficult to launch from Gaza.   Hezbollah can launch these more easily because of the mountains that they can help conceal it.

Look for Hamas to try to commit ground attacks also with car bombs and suicide bombers.  The word is try.  It really has to do with Hezbollah, they are the ones with hundreds of thousands of rockets and everything that Iran has given to them.  Hezbollah almost sunk Israel’s flagship missile crusier 6 years ago with a Chinese surface to surface cruise missile, and destroyed or crippled 100 of Israel’s best battle tanks.  Now Hezbollah really is more Iran than the original terrorist organization.  People are unaware that the rankings of military power in the Middle East goes this way; 1. Israel, 2. Iran, 3. Saudi Arabia, 4. Hezbollah, 5. Syria.  If you threw in Turkey and Pakistan, Pakistan would be 2., and Turkey 4. With Iran 3.  In other words there is a true powder keg over there WITHOUT the country of Iran even being attacked and involved directly.

@ Piper Michael.   A tsunami unless you are in some country like Bangladesh, a tsunami will likely go only a mile of two inland as what is called “land drag” plays a big part in slowing down a tsunami.  The land has to be pretty flat for a tsunami to travel much inland.  Really anything north past North Carolina will not have anything that large, but a 5-10 foot tsunami can flood a lot.  If you are in Florida I would say anything 5 miles of so inland should be safe.

Now, to have a tsunami travel 60 miles inland, you would have to have an astroid come down in fairly deep water and it would have to be about 2 miles or bigger in size.  Something like that comes down people are going to be a lot more concerned about the blast and the effect on the atmosphere than anything.   Even if the planet was to shift on its axis like the 2012 movie, most areas even 500 miles inland would reamin safe.  It would be the severe magnetic storms that would get everyone.  Resistance to water is a lot stronger with land masses than people realize.

@ badpuppydog.  Copperhead has invaluable information about what is going on, a lot of us depend on him to keep us update to what is going on.  If Hamas puts a chemical warhead on one of those rockets and Israel with send in ground forces that will make that 4 years ago event” Cast Lead” operation look like a day in the park.  Hezbollah I am almost positive has so of the worst biology weapons you can imagine.  They certainly have VX gas than is far worse than sarin.  VX gas sticks to concrete and is horrible to decontaminate a region that has been hit by hit.  VX is many times worse than any other nerve agent.

Israel, if it was hit by a weapon of mass destruction would likely use neutron bombs against Hezbollah to try to kill the militants and the Iranian commandoes, without the classic mushroom cloud that a nuke would do.  A neutron bomb is really a mini hydrogen bomb that usually is under 1 kiloton.  The regular atomic bombs are usually 10 kilotons or larger.  The strategic h-bombs are usually in the 200-500 kiloton range, with some 1-2 megatons.  The blockbuster type of h-bombs of 20 megatons or larger are only for special targets, as the cube root blast law shows that it is better to target a region with a bunch of smaller nukes than just one big one.  A 200 kiloton nuke is 100 times smaller than a 20 megaton nuke, but the 20 megaton monster will only blast 4.64 times as much as the 200 kiloton warhead.  Cube root of 100 is 4.64.

Anyway you can see hell breaking out, and as you say, what IF they use a chemical or biological weapon.  Bio-wepons that are contagious really scare me because they don’t stop as long as their is a host.  That nut hussien was said to have some variant of ebola or marburg virus that went to Syria before the second Gulf war.  I think they called it blue nile or something like that.  I read about this many years ago and don’t remember where I saw it,  I Just know that bio-weapons are a poorman’s nuke and the ability to manufacture this SH%^ has become a lot easier than a decade ago.  Something to watch very closely and when anybody sees something about the war over there, it would be nice to share it with everybody here.

@ copperhead….awsome place to put gas lines…right on a faultline. Just like how most nuke power plants are mostly on faultlines….makes you kinda wonder if it was done on purpose.

Welcome back to Tejas,Dr.Paul. You won’t have to go through an election here. We will unanimously appoint you as President of the New Nation of Texas. There won’t be two parties here. You will either be Texan or toast. You will lead us to cleanse our new country of those who have gained power here for their own corrupt self interests. Texans invest in rope. We’re going to need a whole lot of it.

Copperhead and BI, thanks for the info on NMF.    I was already aware of the gas lines running through the region.    There’s a local gas line that runs under my street only 300 yards from my home.    if NMF goes, braveheart will be toast.

14 GOVERNORS THREATENED WITH ARREST BY OBAMA?

A chilling report from the Foreign Military Intelligence Directorate (GRU) prepared for Prime Minister Putin warns today that United States President Barack Obama has had served on 14 US Governors National Security Letters (NSLs) warning that if their actions in attempting to form what are called State Defense Forces are not halted they will face “immediate” arrest for the crime of treason.

The two US Governors spearheading this rebellion against Obama, this report states, are the Republican opposition party Governors of Minnesota, Tim Pawlenty and Texas, Rick Perry; both of whom have a deep fear their President is destroying their Nation.

Governor Pawlenty’s fear of Obama is that since he took office he has appeased America’s enemies while at the same time shunning some of America’s most stalwart allies, especially Israel.  Governor Pawlenty recently castigated Obama for abandoning the US missile defense plan for Europe by saying, “The lessons of history are clear: Appeasement and weakness did not stop the Nazis, did not stop the Soviets, and did not stop the terrorists before 9/11. We must stand strong with allies like Israel and eastern Europe in the face of growing challenges to our national security.”

JayJay, do a bit of research on this piece. It’s several years old and from what I’ve found, it is untrue. There is an article written in 2010 at texas dot tenthamendmentcenter dot com titled “14 Governors Threatened, Hoax?” — it may shed some light.

Ron Paul lacked the kick ass attitude…  he had great concepts but not enough fire  to pull anything off.  Just like an old guy crabbing at a town hall meeting.

He should have yelled more and gone on the offensive more.  A bit more MCCarthy in him was needed.

He needed to “Kick ass and take names” more.

We had a boss at work just like him…  nobody feared the guy and he was a joke…finally had to leave.

To lead…you need to be more cocky…walk the halls swinging your dick and take no prisoners.   Expect some enemies.    Nice guys finish last…or just fade away and retire…he’ll be forgotten long after we’re all dead.

Go ahead and thumbs down this..  but I’m right!

I did a 180 at work….no more being a pussy and I’m rallying many, making enemies of some and getting shit done…the pay doubled and the place is rocking now.

      Go read the Mafia Manager.

Millions of Americans will one day look back and regret not making this great American patriot the president. His was the only plan that could have turned the horrible situation we’re now in around.

I worship no man and recognize only One God as Creator, Judge, Ruler, Lord, Master, and King. The Christian God. But I do honor and respect Ron Paul for being a man of truth and integrity – principles clearly taught by the Lord Jesus Christ.

      God bless Ron Paul.

You a know a good guy, when nothing gets named after him. He said it himself. That’s the way it should be. We don’t go to work every day so that someone will name a library after us. Or a highway gets our name. I say both George Bush’s should have a toilet named after them and they should take all the names off the highways and buildings and whatever they named after them. They should tear down the busts of all these men. I’m too old and tired to believe any of the B.S. that they have been feeding us. All of them are liars and filth and all they produce is chaos, hate, discord, evil all over the earth. I will not hate my neighbours and other people because they are a different race or because they come from some other nation. Or because they don’t have a document, or because they are poor, or because they are rich. None of these people had anything to do with the downfall of our nation. We fell because we stopped serving our Lord Jesus Christ. Because we turned our backs on God and his commandments. We are destined to falter even more and become the tail to others, when before we had it all and people all over the world looked to us for moral support and guidance. Now they despise us and they hate our evil ways and what we have become. We kill people all over the world and we hate our neighbours and we abort our children and we uphold homosexuality, we support a legal system that is racist and executes and imprisons young black and brown men. We let these paratroopers go throughout the ghettos and destroy peoples lives. They pick on poor people that cannot defend themselves. They tear apart family’s and deport people that were doing nothing more than trying to make a living and make ends meet. We are not a Christian nation and we do not have God’s Blessings. We are dead in works and our destiny is hellish and nothing good will ever come from here. My advice to young Christian people, move away find a place where people are seeking God’s face. Get close to him and he will keep you safe. He is your refuge and the only thing that will keep you from falling like this nation. God help us.

I’ve been pushing the grass down for awhile and there have only been two american statesmen during my life that have moved me as much as this man, and the other was assasinated. I do not think we have heard the last from the good doctor, not as long as he is pushin the grass down. He is too good to quit, but I would like to know what the elite said to him right around the GOP convention. A third party break there could have ruined the coronation.

I think he is a true patriot. But his time would have been better served in heading up a revolution against the tyrants he served with.He words ring upon deaf ears as he tried to convey his message too physcopaths and there are to many Americans that have been feed the drug of entitlement that want to get theirs and to hell with everyone else.He knows there is no saving people that dont want to be saved that is why he is stepping down.I believe the majority that rules will ultimately self destruct. After which the so called coward leaders emerge from whatever cave or rock they were hiding in are held accountable for this self destruction they caused.I hope and pray I will still be around to help aid in there capture and hanging or stoning or slow starvation or whatever the people see fit as there punishment.I have talked with different military people and am glad to know many will aid the cause and will turn on the system .So make plan to protect yourself and discuss your plan with few. When the chaos starts you will know when it is time to join in.I am nobody special to see the writing on the wall and as much as I prepare I will nor will you ever be prepared for what is to come when the shtf.
