Market Update: “Logic Has Been Replaced by Fear, By Panic”

Diversification during times of uncertainty and instability means different things to different people. For most of us looking to keep our eggs in different baskets, hard asset are a primary investment vehicle. As more dollars are printed by our central bank and more debt is borrowed to cover our government’s expenditures, there’s one thing we can be sure off: prices for essential resources are going up.

As our paper currencies lose value against the things that really matter, and the political situation takes a turn for the worse through more domestic taxation and regulation, it becomes difficult to discern where we can ‘park’ our money to keep it safe.

For many preparedness-minded individuals the survival instinct kicks in and the first thing we do is stock up on the essentials which will either disappear at the first signs of emergency or rise in value as crisis grips the world. That means things like food, precious metals, firearms, farmland and other important supplies and resources that will matter when the system as we know it comes unhinged. This is a prudent strategy to be sure, and those who invested in such assets before the 2008 financial crisis have seen positive investment gains employing it – not to mention the security of knowing you have a backup should things spiral out of control.

And, while it’s prudent to plan for the worst and have direct access to physical assets and commodities, an equally important consideration is how to properly diversify the funds we hold in our money market accounts, cash savings, 401k’s or IRA retirement accounts. Millions of Americans have their life savings in these types of accounts, and most of them are depending on a stable and fair ‘free market’ to keep that money safe.

But, as Casey Research Chief Strategist Marin Katusa notes, we’re not exactly operating in a free market, or a stable environment, for that matter:

That is exactly the market we are in right now, where people are scared. Where people are selling on emotion. Where the logic has been replaced by fear, by panic.

Emotion is leading the market, and that’s where the level-headed logical buyer is going to make a fortune in the years coming by basing their investments on a fundamental 8 P’s principle - on people.

For those looking to expand their portfolios and diversify their assets in ways your financial adviser doesn’t even have a clue exist, listen to the complete interview from Future Money Trends and Marin Katusa, who discusses strategies for investing in physical precious metals, international precious metals exploration and mining, energy resources and other non-traditional investment vehicles.

When we talk about worst-case-scenario diversification, we need to look at investment opportunities in a different light, often counter to traditional expert analysis. Long known for their ability to foresee crisis situations, Doug Casey and his team, which includes Marin Katusa who manages the firm’s KCR Fund, have been guiding investors for decades and were well ahead of the curve during the first stage of the global collapse we experienced over the last decade. They, like many of those who understand what’s coming our way, have been investing heavily into resources like physical commodities, precious metals, technology and land, much of it internationally to escape the draconian intervention of the U.S. government.

In the coming years we will see strife and financial destruction unlike anything in history. But during times of panic and fear, certain assets will always come out ahead.

I really believe by the end of 2013 we will see [gold] touch and cross $2000 [per ounce]. It may come back, and then settle back again.

You’ll see this is a huge psychological barrier.

And I think that the mainstream media, that the mainstream retail investors, until it breaks that $2000 it won’t attract that mass media attention. But I think 2013 is a critical year.

Look what’s going on with the fiscal cliff. Look what’s going on in Europe. Look at Asia, India, all these places.

And, gold is the real currency.

As Doug Casey recently noted, “we are living in the middle of the biggest bubble in history.”

This means we need to be looking at ways to shield ourselves and our assets from a complete collapse of the system as we have come to know it.

Wallstreet and its Agents /manipulators /merchants / aka Analysts are tools to manipulate the country’s economy. :(

It’s primarily for the interest of the manipulators and the richest (1% of the world.)

Oil was less than 50 CENTS per gallon in the 50s when it was NOT listed on the stock exchange, but increased tremendously to over several hundred % when Wallstreet has their eyes on it.

The author (Mac) and no one could ever predict it, that Wallstreet would be able to CONTROL THE WORLDS ECONOMY. But they did and still do to this day.

Everybody knows it, and nobody can’t do anything about it.

      • I don’t know about shorting — that’s always been a dangerous proposition for me, especially considering that I am not a short-term trader.

Investing in well managed companies that actually produce something of value – industrial metals, precious metals, food, oil, clean water, etc. – is something we have focused on.

With everything going on in terms of regulation and taxation in U.S., I’d suggest looking at foreign companies as well. There are great companies – producers – in Canada, South America, Australia, and Asia… Some pay solid dividends as well, so you get the added benefit of a monthly income and the potential for growth. This is something we’ve looked at for my parents’ retirement funds.

The fact is, you can’t just stock up on bulk foods and ammo to fill a warehouse.. If you’re 50 or 60 years old and have savings, I think it is important to diversify those assets now — into various companies in the spheres of agriculture, energy, and mining. Likewise, due to regulations and taxation and the general business climate, I’d say AT LEAST 50% of one’s stock related investments should be outside of the US — this gives at least some level of protection against domestic disaster.

Basically, we took our prepping strategy of holding physical assets, and looked for companies that essentially create those products or source those resources. It’s not foolproof, of course, but, in my opinion, it’s better than sitting in overblown stocks that have benefited from hundreds of billions of infused dollars into US markets… I have no faith in retail stores that sell electronics or producers of the hottest over-priced cell phone… Those are going to get hammered once Americans run out of savings and continue to lose jobs… However, food and other key resources are always going to have some level of demand… In many cases our decision to go with a particular company was not so much about making money as it was about PRESERVING the value of our money.

Nothing is guaranteed, and no single strategy fits everyone, but some diversification is in order.

I noted Casey Research here simply because they have a wealth of knowledge and research available; that and I have been a fan of Doug Casey’s strategies and opinions for many years. I am not an investment analyst — but they are, so go with the experts if you lack the knowledge yourself (just be sure they are experts who get what’s going on right now!)

Made money both times, never lost a dime. How’d you do Einstein? I’m like a moving target when it comes to my investments, harder to hit. Will I make a bad move someday, maybe. But for now I way ahead of the game unlike you and the other ‘thumbs down’ mental midgets who can’t even read the financial page. Stick to CDs and Savings Bonds so you won’t sprain your brain.

In what seems now like a previous life, I bought and saved stocks, trying to build a portfolio. Cash and mutual funds were accumilated in a 401k. I had dreams of investing in real estate, mostly commercial, and securing a retirement income based on the rental stream.

All gone. 401k liquidated, mostly to pay taxes, and square up some debt. Drteams? Yeah, right. No one can get speculation loans for anything. I build commercial buildings. I have a high net worth client with a note on a property he could pay tens times over in cash, and the bank is calling the note. Makes no sense at all.

The market is a joke and a casino. High frequency traders and inside info, your getting fleeced. Some will get “lucky”. Brings to mind the old adage, “if you sit down at a card game, and don’t know who the sucker is, it’s you”.

I have managed to secure some PMs. My business how much:). And I stay up to date with the market, for warning signs. But seriuosly, I cannot for the life of me, understand how this whole f*ing convoluted Monopoly game ponzi sceme has held together this long. Are TPTB that good? There are times, I admit, when I doubt my insticts. But the writing on the wall, and history, just tells me this fucker is going to crash, and crash hard. It’s just waitng for that one black swan, or unforseen event to get the ball rolling. I feels it in ma bones. Don’t you guys feel it? That impending sense of doom. That which says saving for tomorrow means prepping today.

And on top of everything, this country elects an “idol” and worships him. And the guy has not got a clue. If he ran a lemonade stand, he would run out of water. I swear, I’m waiting to see his cocky smile on posters everywhere, like Saddam or Kim jung Il. Our Fearless Leader. Our Man God. And Time prints a cover with “Second Coming” WTF??. I truly can’t believe it. A once great nation of hard working, independant citizens, turned into Gov Corp idol worshippers.

So, who wants to invest in the market, you know, for the future? Who feels good with a nice little couple hundred grand nest egg? You struggle and slave for it, they push a button, create it out of thin air, and give it away. Hey, here’s a prediction. The gov took over student loans. Let’s start a pool to guess the date Obama, by EO, “forgives” the debt. That’s a nice chunk of bought and paid for voters, eh? Couldn’t really do it too easy with the banks involved. Who doesn’t see that one.

              Rant over. Happy Inauguration!

You know by this point it’s not IF the system will fail, it’s simply a matter of when. Come on, think this all through. When the break down REALLY starts….IF you were at the top…one of the Illuminati/PTB/ what would you do? Stand by while the system melts down and people go completely crazy, destroying everything? NO…they have a plan already in place and ready to go.
Truth is there simply aren’t enough police/military to control the population. So what do you do? I`ll tell you what they do…they release the virus…it has a 2 week incubation period to make sure it gets a solid foothold AND it has an incredibly HIGH mortality rate. The Healthcare system is quickly overwhelmed and unable to find answers. The entire point being that you or anyone else won`t be out rioting, burning down the town and killing folks if you and your loved ones are in bed dying!
THEY simply go into hiding for a year or two as the population dies off. They then re-emerge, re set the system and control it ALL. There are now NO MORE conflicts/wars for natural resources… every problem is solved.

I have to agree on the foreign companies doing investments in. I have no investments in stocks/bonds. Im 43 in good shape about 20 grand saved with about 145oz of silver coins and 1 ounce krugerrand. It’s sad that we are ending up taking a look at companies overseas to invest and I thought the same thing about solid prodcuts. A new company is very risky even low money but if you hit big and it expands quickly you get lucky.

As for the government pumping billions into a company its luck who finds out or you got buddies in the inside that tell you the US is investing into it and you can hit big that way but you got to know somebody.

Everyone knows that people get rich by doing things that nobody knows about. For example people used to and still do(flip homes) and try and make money doing it. Then DYI has a show and everyone tries this and does well or has a hard time at it and screws the house up and a professional comes in to fix it.

We are in trouble with our country. We all know the “takers” are in full steam and draining us quickly. People might argue and say, “we are in good shape we have money that the US has and are just not reporting on, we can trust them they just do this so people panic and buy things when we get scared and panic is thrown into the public.”

Sorry but if we were in good shape we would not be borrowing money from China while there country has brand new buildings/sky”scrapers”/bullet trains and huge underground shelters and buildings. We are heading down in a fast way and I will not invest into the system that not sure how it exactly works. There is that saying don’t do something that you don’t understand like investing.

Another tip my mother told me is when you wan’t to buy something and want bad. Think about it for 5 days and after 5 days you still want it, then buy it, but don’t buy something when your impulsive or not sure. I see people buying ammo sometimes that they don’t even have the gun for it. I don’t think it’s silly but not a good investment always. Especially for ammo that is not common to shoot. Ammo always gets more expensive and seldom gets cheaper.

I can’t think of many things that get cheaper except for Tv’s or certain electronics. Ammo is a good investment ladies but get common ammo that is used, or if you need to trade or sell its in demand like .223/5.56 ammo for the Ar-15.

I can’t believe people are still liking Obama and believe in him. Obama is the biggest self -centered liar we have ever had. You will never see Obama on a mugshot for what he did selling guns to criminals and letting them go to Mexico and they ended up killing people. All Obama does is parties on our money with his fake smiles while we fight with each other! We should be united GOP and DEMS and race and color together! But we got all of us fighting with each other, If I get a thumbs down on this, it’s only that someone has thier head so far up Obama’s ass they would do anything for that POS. Obama increases taxes on us and drive us out of jobs. I don’t understand why you would want that. You would want higher prices on food and everything just to see this fraud have fun in office while he screws you and me? Don’t get it blacks. Good post MAC!!

Obviously, no ammo on shelf. you may have gold, silver, or
diamonds. All i need is one simple round of lead, and brass.
Today, the price of ammo jumps 25% up, but nothing to buy.
Why do people buy all the ammo?
Prediction is it like 1775, no red coated solder will take
your ammo, the BIG 0 commands no ammo for you. no more ammo.

We have most of our assets tied up in farm ground, but for what is tied up in a 401K that we control is leveraged for a collapse. We bailed out of our Roth’s. Took the cash and paid off some debt, purchased a few things like new tires for the car. I would look to hard assets that have a trade value or upgrade things in your house. Do we need a new furnace, air, windows, or a roof? Put it where you will use it for the next 20 years and see a payback. The little liar will be coming for your stuff.

In aggregate, the Scriptural quotes and even the words of the rabbis themselves show he is wrong on every point.

The Mosaic Covenant was conditional on Israelite obedience to God.
The Israelites repeatedly disobeyed God and they killed their Messiah.
They voided the Covenant. They claim their Talmud supersedes Moses.
God named his Church in the New Covenant as the legitimate successors to Abraham and Moses.

Ergo, the synagogue of Satan, most of them European Khazars, has no legitimate title to that land and they most certainly do not follow Moses.

The Heavenly “title” to the Holy Land belongs to those to whom GOD passed the “title,” the spiritual descendants of Abraham, His Church, and His People.

The true Jews are in the Church Jesus founded. The impostors of Satan’s synagogue, the ones who SAY they are Jews, the ones who are NOT Jews according to GOD, the ones who LIE, occupy Palestine.

@John Q, Public as regard your reply to my reply on 1/22/13 in this article. Your arguments are pre Romans 11: making them speak of a different time. The Romans quotes are clearly written after your quotes and therefore imply supersedenceto your erroneous interpretation. The Scriptures I quoted and those below negate all that you have said regarding the land God gave Israel. Their judgement will come on judgment day just as will everyone else’s. I do agree though, that God’s chosen people are no longer just the Jewish people. They are the bride of the Christ. The church composed of peoples from all walks of life some from every Christian church and land. The regathering of Israel to their land is an archtype and example of God’s intent with the church on the day of harvest.

Israel’s sin and resulting exile from the Land of Israel never annulled God’s covenant with His Chosen People, nor did it permanently abrogate their right to the Land of Israel: “Yet in spite of this (Israel’s disobedience), when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I so abhor them as to destroy them, breaking My covenant with them; for I am the Lord their God. But I will remember for them the covenant with their ancestors” – which includes the Land of Israel (Leviticus 26:44-45). Their exile from Israel was meant to be temporary! In Deuteronomy 30:1-5, Moses specifically predicted that they would experience a time of obedience and blessing within the Land, followed by a period of disobedience and exile from the Land, followed by spiritual restoration to God and physical restoration to the Land: “So it shall be when all of these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind in all nations where the Lord your God has banished you, and you return to the Lord your God and obey Him with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons, then the Lord your God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the people where the Lord your God has scattered you. If your outcasts are at the ends of the Earth, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you back. And the Lord your God will bring you into the Land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it.”

It’s no coincidence that after two thousand years of exile, the Chosen People are being restored to the Land that their fathers possessed, and simultaneously, they are being spiritually restored to God through the Messiah, as is evidenced by the growth of the Messianic Jewish movement in Israel and around the world.

The Son of God Himself predicted that because the majority of Israel did not believe He was the Messiah, Jerusalem would be destroyed, and the people would be exiled among the nations, but eventually, they would return to Israel (Luke 21:23-24). This prophecy began in 70 AD when Jerusalem was destroyed, and then again in 135 AD, when the Second Jewish Revolt against the Roman Empire was crushed. They were scattered to the nations, and lost political control of Jerusalem. However, over the past 2,000 years, there were always some Jewish people who remained in the Land of Israel. Starting in the 1880′s, this prophesied regathering of Jewish people to Israel picked up speed, and now there is a reborn nation of Israel, with Jerusalem as its capital, with 5.3 million Jewish people regathered from more than 70 countries, just as Israel’s Messiah predicted.

Only a tiny Karaite sect of Judaism (about 20,000 worldwide, mostly Ethiopians, and the Holy Hypocrites call them “N word”) follows Mosaic Law and the AshkeNazi and Sephardic “Jews” force the Karaites to CONVERT to Talmudic Judaism before immigrating to “Israel,” otherwise the Karaites are treated as goyim, non-Jews, non-humans.

Even as far back as the 11th century the Karaites were persecuted by the rabbis for “heresy” because the Karaites did follow Mosaic Law and did not obey the POST-CHRISTIAN Talmud:

“From the 11th century the persecution of Karaites (a heretical Jewish sect) by flogging them to death if unrepentant was common in Castile. Jewish women who cohabited with Gentiles had their noses cut off by rabbis who explained that ‘in this way she will lose her beauty and her non-Jewish lover will come to hate her’. Jews who had the effrontery to attack a rabbinical judge had their hands cut off. Adulterers were imprisoned, after being made to run the gauntlet through the Jewish quarter. In religious disputes, those thought to be heretics had their tongues cut out …”

Reading Doug Casey’s opinions about politics, he absolutely is not one of us. His agenda are very liberal and more about benefiting a One World order.

All countries are after resources. It would be stupid for him to advise people to go against tangible assets, he wants the West and Americans to buy them now before other countries take them, then their governments would confiscate them later.

During the 1980s, they moved people into buying stocks, his people bought gold at the bottom price and now they sell them to the masses and will confiscate them later.

They’ve created crises for their personal gain. Never waste a good crisis. Yeah, a GOOD CRISIS WHEN WE LOOSE, THEY GAIN.

          :) Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

People should not invest in stocks with China, because of a strong possibility of war in the near future.

America has never seen a complete utter collapse of the dollar . How can we sure our money is safe anywhere ? If you invest in gold , the government can take it, they did in the early 1930′s , under threat of imprisonment . If its in the bank in savings , checking or CD’s where of course you make nothing on it , and the dollar collapse, what makes anyone actually believe the FDIC will back it up ? Frankly , I feel my money is safer hidden in a mattress and I don’t trust the government . Ado you really believe they won’t confiscate pensions and IRA’s , there has been talk of it ?

This is my take on things. Convert your IRA or similar accounts into physical gold. I assume we will be able to take delivery even if we owe lots of tax. If we are prevented from withdrawing our life savings under US law then we go to war with that nation and expend a much larger quantity of lead, copper, and steel core. Revolution occurs and things truly change.

If we have withdrawn our gold and the government wants to then confiscate it, they not only learn how we can fight conventionally, but also how students of history can wage asymmetric warfare. Asymmetric warfare is a real bitch. Take out the infrastructure first, then play dirty against an army using bio, laser, and similar means. The template is the French resistance in WWII. 5,000 rebels tied up 2 million German soldiers and changed the outcome.

Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. And don’t forget to become as resilient as possible with extra food, water, meds, communication, home gardens, and other needed items. Flexibility is key. It helps me sleep well in a very uncertain time.

I have been hearing all these predictions about gold going to hit 2,000 or 3,000 or, some have even been saying 5,000 or higher – for how long now? At least 10 years.

The late Bob Chapman was making these predictions and, it was always: ‘by the end of this year……or, by this time next year’…..blah,blah, blah.

I am beginning to believe that these prognosticators are nothing more than hucksters and con-artists who are trying to stimulate people to buy gold at the current high prices, when most average income level investors really can’t afford it and would probably be better off buying silver, or maybe lead, which are more affordable.

Every thing these days is one gigantic scam. Gee, I wonder if that situation is in any way related to the tiny group of blood sucking parasites who’ve managed to hijack our nation?

          • let’s remember that over the time period you cited gold has risen from around $400 to as high as $1700. This suggests a long term trend is in play… and we have yet to witness the real panic fallout from financial/economic collapse.

I agree with you that silver is an excellent vehicle for lower income investors. It, like gold, rises in times of uncertainty… Historically, both go up together (and fall together)… thus, in my mind, investing in one is very similar to investing in the other.

This was news to me and may be to others as well. It makes the larger purchases easier to swallow since they are bite size chunks

          Mac,

Thank you, as always, for these insightful and well put together articles. As 2013 has rolled around, the Mayan apocalypse averted, I find it hard to think about investing in anything that I cannot hold in my hands, or protect with my rifle.

Perhaps I see the future in a more “Mad Max” setting rather than simply longer lines at the soup kitchen, but the thought of “investing” in a company over the horizon or even on the other side of the planet, seems futile when it comes down to collecting your returns. Unless it had it’s headquarters within driving distance where they could cut me a check (and I am not even going to go into how worthless a piece of paper will be), then how could I expect to collect? When the SHTF, could we not expect ALL electronic wealth to be erased in an instant? “What shares?” “What dividends?” “I am sorry sir, I don’t know what you are talking about” will be the conversation you get, if you were even able to get someone on the line from the firm. You don’t like it? What are you going to do? Fly to whatever location the firm is at and demand your money?

Unless these companies are paying you in literal physical assets (you speak of industrial metals, precious metals, food, oil, clean water), that is, they are “paying you” in gold, dehydrated/freeze-dried food, copper rods, 55-gal containers of treated water, oil drums of sweet light crude, then I honestly do not see how investing in them is wise.

I am not in any way trying to belittle your efforts and investing strategy for you or your parents, but putting money that could be used to purchase now, at today’s prices, actual in-your-hand assets, seems infinitely more logical that converting it into “digi-dollars” that disappear into the great nether world of investing, that exists only as long as the server storing the data is plugged in and working.

It has been evident to me for almost a week now that nothing significant is going to come of any outright gunban and congress is not going to pass anything of any real significance. The only thing to worry about is the EO’s from Nergal possessed bo, and that is going to revolve around healthcare, specifically mental health.

When are $1,000.00 guns going to go back to $1,000.00 instead of $1,7000.00 to $2400.00 and AK’s back to the $500.00 range where the belong. And rounds of 5.56/.223 back to $.50 and mags back $15 a piece. The prices I see on http://www.gunlistings.org and http://www.armslist.com are not examples of capitalism and free market….they are nothing but signs of modern day crony capitalism and greed disguised behind “supply & demand” bullshit!

imposed upon Germany in order to keep it in a state of perpetual bankruptcy.” – Le

“Life is not a problem of financial speculations, but always only a problem of work.

execution a Four Year Plan whereby the necessities of life will be secured to our people
than it would be to set the rotary machines in motion to print more paper money. It is a
very simple matter to come before the people and to say, ‘We are raising salaries, receipts, and wages’; then tomorrow we raise prices. It is very simple to say ‘ We lessen
the hours of work, that is the amount of work done, and we raise the wages for that
work’. That is perhaps popular for the moment. But the crash must come, for the
individual does not live on a paper salary, but on the whole sum of the production of his

It’s kind of eerie, that it sounds a lot like Hitler was taking on the Centralized jewish banking cartel and their fiat money enterprise. I’m not defending who we now know was a vicious murderer, but isn’t that same fight OUR fight now?

I do not trust revisionist history.

I know most of it is lies and propaganda, but I believe that if America was to take a stance to End The Fed, that history might see us written into it with the same revisionist brush as Hitler.

Look at how we as preppers, are demonized for our views of the central banks. We are marginalized, because we have no faith in the Fed and prefer to hold our wealth ourselves in PMs, not fiat paper money.

WE believe that the value of currency is in the labor producing our wealth, not the value the central banks give it, as in usury, fractional banking practices and derivatives, etc…i.e fake money.

Basically what I’m saying is that it sounds like while we are nothing like the Nazis, we certainly seem to have the same views of who our enemy really is.

I should mention again, that the current “demons” in the middle east are also against the usury that the central banks controls and profits from. It is a deep part of their faith.

Trying to be totally neutral and open-minded here, it seems to me that all the “demons”, “terrorists” and “evil peoples” are really guilty of one thing initially…

…usurping the centralized, global banking cartel (that controls all media, resources and the most powerful positions on the globe) and threatening their control of our wealth, and by extension, their profits from robbing us ALL blind.

I think we can either continue to see the world divided from the “us versus them” mentality, or we can cast off our blinders and see the true demons for who they are.

THE TRUTH IS, IT IS TPTB WHO HATE US FOR OUR FREEDOM.

They assainated patton too for that once he began to Blab about it.

Picture entire worlds nations use of german, money from labor/production methods your post outlined…They had zero intrest on loans for mortgages etc. Banks exist to Bennifit the PEOPLES!…Not a small evil handfull of jewsih banksters and several thousand bribed pals in high offices.

If that was done instead of usa assisting destruction of germans in WWII?…The Entire worlds people would do swell and Prosperity would abound worldwide.

The ONLY main Loosers would of course be that parasitic bankster class and of course the entire self chozen group that follow or Obey them.

World=1…..Self chozens+ Banksters=0….Too bad george Patton wasn’t Prez instead of FDR back then eh.

The Only thing they can do now is try for WWIII…Except that Today in 2013 era, most of world is Fast awakining to their swindles and the Truths of WWII era..

A Good liklyhood now is if they attempt a war again, regardless the final outcome…For them and All who side with them…This time will probobly be a Final solution.

PS: Adolph Hitler sure was smart for an 8th grade dropout no?…He makes Hobammy and Pelosi look like True fools or idiots.

He also stated in his last will I think it was, the world will realize these truths one day and although germany lost(the entire world got scammed into defeating them), germans and germany will be vindicated once the world awaken to what really was.

Soros taught us that these guys who made money simply through paper shuffling and luck are the biggest liars. No doubt after bad mouthing gold all the way to the bank, Soros has been quietly loading it up by the truck full. No useful productive work done in his life. Just financial bet on the devaluation of the British pound, and he’s a multibillionaire.

That this system exists such that it is so vulnerable to big plays like this, which along with creation of Fiat through the Central Banks and the banking system in general, allows this enormous redistribution of wealth a la Soros, is a clear cut sign that the system has to be overhauled, big time.

Eventually it will be overhauled at the end of a gun.

        • I am the only person I know who doesn’t buy into the 401(k) scam. One co-worker told me he made 15% gain last year. Never mind the 40% haircut in 2008-09, or the inflation and management fees eating those gains. They tell me I’ll have nothing when I get old(er). At least I got something for my FRNs when I had them.

I think the NYSE recently hit a five year high. Whoooo-hoooo! We’re almost back to where we were five or six years ago!!!

Stunned silence when I ask about actually people actually laying their hands on that money. These people actually think the banksters will leave literally trillions in cash unmolested for the next few decades. Stunning how many people quit work and head into retirement while still paying a mortgage.

Diversification should start with plenty of long term stored food, a good water source, the ability to grow/produce/store more food, and the means to defend it against those that were not so forward looking.

Then diversify into other commonly used items, such as toilet paper, fuels, etc.

IF you happen to be fortunate enough to have extra funds AFTER the above, by all means buy silver and gold…..anything to keep from saving in paper promises such as dollars and stocks

          • Archivist says:

Only commercial farms need continuous supplies. An individual family farming for themselves does not. All one needs is knowledge, practice, heirloom seeds, and a supply of good tools to start with. After that no further input is needed other than sunlight, water, and your labor.

If you set up your garden properly, parts of it can even be self-seeding, so the only labor is harvesting. My strawberries were planted two years ago, and I haven’t touched them since. I planted rutabagas last year. I let some go to seed, and now I have more rutabagas. I planted crowder peas last year. I let some go to seed and had more peas this year. Rosemary and thyme grows all year and spreads. Lemon balm and other mint-related plants will grow and spread. Basil will self-seed.

I have been gardening for years and have done a lot of experimenting to see what works in my area. I am naturally lazy, so I try to eliminate as much labor as possible. Most of my labor so far has been building numerous square foot gardening boxes and mixing the initial dirt to fill them. There has been almost no work since other than planting and harvesting.

My next big project is to cover part of my back yard in newspaper to kill grass and then cover it with compost. I am going to try the “Back to Eden” style of gardening. I was impressed by this method as demonstrated in a movie: http://www.backtoedenfilm.com. I would suggest that everyone view this film.

The problem with the stock market these days is that there is no reasonable predictability any more. 30 years ago, you could invest and expect reasonable return on your investment, the periodic “bear ” markets, not withstanding.

That has all changed now. No more buy and hold. Yes, you’ll kick yourself mentally for not getting in or staying in the market, if it continues to climb based on fiat injections into the market by the FED through its proxies. As long as everyone in the markets agrees to go along with this pretend world, then the market goes higher.

On the other hand, if the market sudden crashes when the first big player blinks, then you’ll kick yourself for having not gotten out when all the warning signs were blaring.

It boils down to the simple fact that we have entered into the unknown, where every thing is a crap shoot, determined by everything else except the core fact that the Central Banks worldwide are all printing money like mad.

I was thinking more of the Swiss Franc, since their currency seems to stay stable, and they don’t get involved in every war that comes along. 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

16 And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

      22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

The big dealers and wholesalers bought up everything that was available and on hand.

Canada, Australia, both rich in natural resources have strong currencies. Though it’s hard to put much faith in any paper, the Canadians wish to keep prices competitive to the U.S. Dollar for trade. That’s why they track as they do on the Forex. A banker told me this.
These currencies will be around for a while and both nations’ banks are some of the most sound in the world. It’s a good idea to diversify into these two currencies as it may very well save your butt.
If you have trouble establishing an account, just hold the notes outside the banking system and pay the small transaction fees.

I also believe what KySSG says. Commodities in hand and even real estate is the only way to go. If the dollar goes so does the valuation of PM’s.

The only reason the stock market has not tanked at this point is because of the Plunge Protection Team that is being financed by the Major Financials and the U.S. Government. This organization has the money and the power to prevent another 500 point loss on the stock exchange. Not only that but depending on the political situation it will prop up stocks till they can issue you a financial statement explaining why such a stock should not be sold.

Doesn’t anyone wonder where the 40 billion a day that the Fed prints up goes? It goes towards The Plunge Protection Team and to HUD sponsored organizations such as Fannie Mae – Freddie Mac etc. Why? Because they are the PMI (primary mortgage insurers) that have to pay off the banks and investment companies that have bad real estate loans that were made because the U.S. Gov’t through HUD guaranteed them.

This is what was called the affordable home act. Thank you Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosoi. Every person deserves to be a home owner. Turns out everone didn’t.

Now when the Fed gives them (PPT and HUD) money (magic cash) to pay off these loans the Fed owns those loans or at least has an interest in them. So when Treasuries are sold that is what backs those T-Bills and Bonds. That is why other countries buy them because at the very least they will get USA land and homes when our money is no good.

Remember the Fed does not have a reserve and it is not part of the Federal Government. It is run by the major financial institutions both here at home and abroad.

It is a pyramid scheme of the greatest proportions ever portrayed on any one country in history. Get ready because it is going to rain poop on all of us, even the prepared will have it bad. The unprepared, bye bye…

        • BigB says:

That is the crazy part about all of this. They are not hiding any of this. The Federal Reserve which is not part of the American Government are the people (Bankers) that decide how much money is printed.

Under QE3 they have stated openly that 40 billion dollars will be printed up every month to be put into the monetary system for as long as it takes to get the economy moving again.

Congress, The Senate nor the President has any say in this. That is why Ron Paul who has demanded time and again that there be an audit of the Federal Reserves gold in Fort Knox and elsewhere was shot down as a serious contender for President.

None of the executive branches have any say over how much or where the money goes when it is printed. “It goes into the system”. What the heck does that mean? What I said in my original post about it is being used to prop up our dollar.

This will lead to inflation. What you saw in the fall of Russia is what you are seeing here in the USA. Only because of the Federal Reserve and the American dollar being the worlds currency it is taking longer. The only reason why we still retain the worlds currency is that Saudi Arabia will only accept American dollars for the purchase of oil.

The Crown Prince is 80 plus years old. If, when, he dies there are over 9,000 Crown Princes’s in line for his position. If the one who wrestles the title from all the other is an Islamic Fundlementalist he will probaly open up the sale of oil to a non fiat currency.

I believe and this is my theory, that after WW2 our President made an agreement with Saudia Arabia that we would limit how much oil we would drill for here in the US and or how much we would refine to keep oil and gas inflated. If it is not true then why have we not become independent? We have the oil fields. How long has it been that a new refinery was built here in the US? 50 plus years, Why?

That is why you see China buying all the gold it can and places like Germany demanding the USA give them all the gold we are “holding” for them.

You cannot make this crap up. Everyone needs to check it out for themselves. Read Jekyle Island and see how the Federal Reserve came about.

China is the number one gold producer. It buys all of its own production and also buys on the world market when the price is right. It also encourages its citizens to buy gold because China understands that gold is real wealth.

Nothing again in the southern hempishere. There was a 6 in western Indonesia like one of these precursor polar earthquake was pointing towards, but not a BIG earthquake, ONLY a good size one where it should be hitting, just about one or two magnitudes too small. Watch the USGS, something is coming, the planet just has to recoil like a rattlesnake from the last 7.5 Alaskan quake a couple of weeks ago. @ TrailGuide and everyone else. That black elderberry works, had it mixed with red raspberry, burned through 2 bottles of this on top of the powdered form of Sambucus which is the Latin name for black elderberry. The one item that seemed to take the flu down though yesterday was Vitamin A when I decided to double it from 50000 IU to 100000 IU. This really seemed to dry everything up and take away the chills. Cayenne is good for too many things to mention. I truly forgot about the collodial silver as this is wonderful for infection. On this 6th day of the flu it is almost gone, and really only the third through the fifth day was really awful. Elderberry is one of those survival items that every prepper needs.

I see so many good people trying to help someone when they have the flu or some other need, and someone like that blockhead JoeinNC calling the people here hideous names and never contributing anything. I wouldn’t post a proposal to BI without knowing he would do his homework and thus suppose I might just be on to something. While I would never claim enhancing the immune system as a ‘cure’; the evidence of hundreds of years is hard for the FDA to squash. Elderberry extract is not only proven through centuries of use – it is scientifically proven over 10 years of peer-reviewed studies. Elderberry can reduce the duration of the flu for an average of 4 days, and it can also decrease the severity of the symptoms.

Elderberry has even been proven effective against the Avian flu, a terrifying mutation that causes death in 70-100% of those affected.

Bacteria and virus’ cannot thrive in an oxygen rich environment. I don’t think there is any research to prove this works but personal testimony from people that use this daily and my own experience works for me.

No telling what kind of drugs they had him on.

Ruger 10/22 is now an assault rifle.

I hate to say it but the 22 cal is a killer and we should all give up our semi autos that our fathers gave us when we were 8 yrs old! (NOT). Speaking of which I sure had fun this weekend with my 22′s, but of course I only loaded 10 shells.

        1. To fill a pint jar, you need just over 3/4 pound of butter. 11 pounds will fill 12.5 pint jars.

        2. Using a large stainless steel or good enamel pot, gradually melt the butter over low heat, stirring occassionally. As butter melts, add more butter until it’s all melted.

        3. While the butter is melting, put clean pint canning jars in a 250 degree oven for a good 20 minutes.

        4. Sterilize canning lids according to directions. I simmer them in a little pan of water, and keep them hot until I need them.

        5. Ladle the melted butter into the jars using a canning funnel if you have one. Leave 1/2 to 3/4 inch headspace.

        6. When all the jars are filled, wipe the rims well and place hot lids and bands. Screw down hand tight.

        7. Process 20 minutes in a boiling water bath. When done, remove with a jar lifter.

        8. Wait until the jars are cool enough to handle. Then shake each jar a little every few minutes as they cool. This really works great to keep the butter from separating. Once the butter begins to stay consitent, you can put it in the refrigerator, still checking every 5 minutes and shaking. Do this until they solidify and won’t shake anymore. Once the jars are cool and the butter is solidified, you can store on the shelf.

        {pretty much how I canned my butter, except the heating of the jars in the oven}

I had gotten a good bit of unsalted butter cheap last year that I was going to can until I started reading all the warnings against canning dairy products. It’s still in my freezer. What do you think about these warnings? I notice you don’t even pressure can them. As butter is not acidic, what about botulism?

We’ve been canning it for about 2 years now. Full disclosure we turn the butter into ghee which is simply butter that you heat, cook the water out and strain the milk solids out. Plenty of videos on you tube for it.

The current jar we’re on was canned about 14 months ago and is fine. We do tend to keep it in the fridge after opening it but it’s not purely necessary if you eat withing a reasonable time frame. Pints work better than quarts for this.

Do note that ghee has less buttery flavor than butter because a lot of that is locked up in those milk solids. So we still melt some non canned butter to put on our popcorn and cornbread. The ghee is more for cooking with. And as a much needed source of potential calories in a disaster situation.

Getting those out increases the shelf life before it goes rancid and our canning is designed around at least a 2 year storage plan so longer shelf life is better for us.

We also have quite a bit of canned Red Feather butter as another just in case, we’re close enough for example to the new madrid area that we’d feel it and cans take a fall better than glass. And #10 cans of powdered butter from rainy day foods. We like butter. :)

      20 Only In America Ironies

      1) Only in America could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000 a plate campaign fund raising event.

      2) Only in America could people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans when we have a black President, a black Attorney General, and roughly 18% of the federal workforce is black.

      3) Only in America could we have had the two people most responsible for our tax code, Timothy Geithner, the head of the Treasury Department and Charles Rangel who once ran the Ways and Means Committee, BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.

      4) Only in America will you find people who burn the American flag and call America an “imperialist nation,” but who get offended if you say they’re not patriotic.

      5) Only in America can we have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.

      6) Only in America could someone drinking a $5 latte and texting to his friends on an iPhone 4 complain that the government allows some people to make too much money.

      7) Only in America would people take rappers who brag about shooting people and selling drugs seriously when they complain the police are targeting them unfairly.

      8) Only in America would we make people who want to legally become American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege while we discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just become American citizens.

      9) Only in America could the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking by the country’s Constitution be thought of as “extremists.”

      10) Only in America could the most vicious foes of successful conservative women be self-proclaimed feminists and the National Organization for Women.

      11) Only in America could you need to present a driver’s license to cash a check or buy alcohol, but not to vote.

      12) Only in America can we have terrorists fly planes into our buildings and have some people’s first thought be “what did we do to make them hate us?”

      13) Only in America would we think teaching kids at college is an appropriate job for communists, terrorists, and other dregs of humanity.

      14) Only in America could people demand the government investigate whether the oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when for every penny of profit the oil companies make, the government tacks on roughly 24 cents’ worth of taxes.

      15) Only in America could the first people asked to weigh in on the seriousness of a racial incident by the media be professional race hustlers like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Ben Jealous. In other words, it’s like calling in a car dealer as a neutral source on whether or not you need to get a new car.

      16) Only in America does airport security put its hands on your underwear….while you’re wearing it.

      17) Only in America could the government force a skating rink to have handicapped parking spots and Braille on the ATM machines.

      18) Only in America could the government collect more tax dollars from the people than any nation ever has before in all of recorded history, still spend a trillion dollars more that it has per year, and complain that it doesn’t have nearly enough money.

      19) Only in America could the rich people who pay 86% of all income taxes be accused of not paying their “fair share” by people who don’t pay any income taxes at all.

      20) Only in America could the people who approve of slaughtering 25 million females babies via abortion accuse OTHER PEOPLE of waging a “war on women.”

So far what’s been written has been spot on as relating to our times.Just what would be the cause of this “throwing into the street” might be many things happening at the same time.Breakdown of commonly accepted terms of exchange due to crooked and misleading traders(I.E. the slant-eye bastards making fake coins and bullion in massive amounts for example)If TEOTWAWKI were to happen, gold and silver would be next to worthless compared to foodstuffs and medical supplies. It’s nice to have “some” on hand, but there other things that have equal worth.
On a lighter note,I believe there are companies worth investing in,even in these times. There were many companies that had their start in the last Great Depression(they like to mislead the Sheeple by calling it a ” Temporary Recession”.Don’t believe it for a second children. In realty land,we’re in for a decade or two’s worth of hard times. What we’re in for in the long haul is THE CHANGE.World-wide,governments are reaching “failure-mode” from covering the banks crooked dealings that failed. What’s going to replace all of it will be extremely painful everywhere on the planet. There are no “safe havens” to run to.Even the Chinese get it.
Having said that,we still need to buy gas, food, get medical treatment, etc. on a day by day basis.Prepping is the “deadline” that will keep us going as thing change.
