Petition Demand: “Ban All Incoming and Outgoing Flights to Ebola-Stricken Countries”

As Americans across the country struggle to understand what is being done to stem the possibility of an Ebola outbreak in the United States, many have come to the conclusion that the first and most effective method of prevention is to keep it out of America to begin with.

That strategy, if there ever was one, has obviously failed now that an infection has been identified on U.S. soil.

This prompted one concerned citizen to launch a petition at the We The People web site calling for a complete ban on air travel to and from Ebola stricken countries.

Have the FAA ban all incoming and outgoing flights to ebola-stricken countries until the ebola outbreak is contained

The Ebola virus has reached unprecedented epidemic proportions in West Africa, and has been joined by another unrelated concurrent outbreak in the Congo. Experts had stated it was ‘highly unlikely’ that ebola would show up on American soil.

But now it has, in the City of Dallas, Texas, brought here by an individual who entered our country from the West African nation of Liberia, where ebola is rampant.

The citizens of the US are scared. We do not want any more ebola-infected individuals bringing the epidemic to our shores. The longer we allow people to enter our country from ebola-stricken areas, the higher the chance another person infected with ebola will arrive here, putting ALL of our citizens at risk.

Please tell the FAA to ban ALL incoming flights from any/all ebola-stricken regions.

The publicly posted petition highlights growing concerns that the President, the Centers for Disease Control and medical personnel around the country have failed to develop a clear and concise strategy to prevent the virus from reaching America and isolating it should it be detected in patients on U.S. soil.

Though the CDC maintains that screening procedures for Ebola are in place at the nation’s major travel hubs, it’s clear that the only screenings being conducted are the intrusive TSA security checks that most Americans have been subjected to for several years. Insofar as screenings for those originating their travels in West Africa and arriving in the United States, nothing of the sort is happening.

Ebola Patient Zero Thomas Duncan reportedly boarded a plane in Liberia and lied on his exit questionnaire when he was asked if he had been in contact with any infected people. Duncan traveled on at least three separate airplanes and spent time on layovers during his 23-plus hour journey.

It has been noted that Duncan may have realized he had been in close proximity to the virus and chose to board an airplane so that he could seek better medical care at  a U.S. hospital.

In the process, Duncan may have infected scores of others who were in his immediate area at airports, on flights, and when he arrived in the United States.

Current news reports out of Liberia indicate that hundreds of other residents are heading to the airport in the hopes that they can catch a flight out of the country, prompting fears in America that it is only a matter of time before more Ebola infections are identified.

President Obama has thus far maintained that the outbreak does not require travel restrictions.

The petition was created on October 1st and has over 2,000 signatures as of this writing. Over 100,000 signatures will be needed by October 31st before the President and administration policymakers are required to post an official public response.

You can read the publicly posted petition and digitally sign it here.

This is how ridiculous it has gotten.

A jaw dropping insight from the director of CDC.

“Even if we tried to close the border, it wouldn’t work,” the top health official added. “People have a right to return. People transiting through could come in. And it would backfire, because by isolating these countries, it’ll make it harder to help them, it will spread more there and we’d be more likely to be exposed here.”

Seems like a pretty obvious solution to me; if they put people in quarantined areas in West Africa to contain the disease and quarantine people here in the US– threaten to jail them if they come outside their homes– then why not quarantine the affected countries???

I posed this question to my Pro-TV relative, who disagreed with me. Forgot his reply but he believes everything the TV newscaster/Obama says..

Also, yesterday, this guy on TV let it slip as to why they are not banning flights. He said, “we can’t just bury ourselves in a black hole– we live in a global economy”… and that, IMO, is the real reason they are not banning flights– it would have a negative affect on Wall Street.

Already, according to Zero Hedge, the stock markets slipped due to Ebola problems. Imagine what would happen if we shut down air travel? Also, imagine the loss of revenue to the air line industry?

Its all about money, folks, IMO… it always is in the corporate states of America– whats best for the corpotations, wall street, and the fossil fuel industry- the ELITES!!!

The Ebola epidemic is a fraud.

It’s a fraud just like Swine Flu/H1N1, Bird Flu and SARS.

It’s an absurd psyop on the American people, and boobous is falling for it.

It’s all about a program of control and an operation to ensnare people into a cradle-to-grave medical apparatus that diagnoses one disease after another, treats these diseases with highly toxic drugs that produce new symptoms, then diagnosing those symptoms as new diseases and then treating those with more toxic drugs, until eventually you die.

Pull the hook out of your mouth folks. Don’t take the Ebola bait!

          • yourmotherwaswrong says:

            Ebola is a propaganda operation.

According to the World Health Organization, there ARE 3 to 5 million cases, every year, of Regular Seasonal Flu, and according to WHO, between 250,000 and 500,000 people die from it.

            And the world does nothing.

When it comes to seasonal regular flu, the World Health Organization issues no scary reports, and no dire warnings.

But if the WHO issues the above statement, and substitutes “Regular Seasonal Flu” with “Ebola,” what happens?

            The world goes crazy.

Producing fear, one way or another, is a standard element in exerting top-down control over people.

When people are afraid, they’re compliant, they’re obedient to authority.

            And that’s the agenda.

            Ebola is a propaganda operation.

Just like Swine Flu, Iraqi WMDs, and Anna Nichole Smith marrying J. Howard Marshall for love.

            Wake up folks!

            • kynase says:

Though I see your point, I think this is all about perspective. Even with those numbers that is anywhere from a 5 to 10% death rate. And often time the death from flu is due to previous underlying conditions. Ebola has a consistent >50% death rate and has a current R0 of 2. To give you some perspective the R0 of the seasonal flu is 1.2 to 2.

We currently have a disease with an higher death rate and higher R0. The medical community doesn’t know exactly the story behind its transmission which is why we are seeing so many medical professionals catching it. It is in its early growth phase and the exponential will come (which is why we keep hearing numbers up to a million by January). You don’t quarantined an entire city unless a disease is a problem. To even work with ebola in lab setting you have to have a BL4 setup.

Ebola is a HUGE problem. I have studied viruses and epidemiology extensively and in my opinion we should all keep a very close eye on this spread. This disease could very well be a game changer.

              • hmmmmm says:

Kynase, not to believe everything I read, but I did read the rate has been changed to 1:3. For every one case of Ebola, 3 others are affected/infected.

              • kynase says:

Hmmmmmm- I’m betting once all is said and done, the R0 will be closer to 5. It’ all starting slow…but as things heat up, it could become a hot mess real quick. It’s especially challenging to get a real R0 on an individual basis…like with the Duncan guy, because people he was allegedly in contact with were isolated pretty quick. We’ll see how many of them contract it, assuming it is reported to the public.

              • yourmotherwaswrong says:

Accurate diagnostic tests are needed to determine whether a person has Ebola. Accurate tests aren’t being done. So this is an unproven epidemic. And making the assertion of an epidemic is a hoax.

                Remember Swine Flu?

In the summer of 2009, the CDC stopped counting cases of Swine Flu and yet maintained there was an epidemic. The samples of blood from patients they sent to labs showed, in the overwhelming number of cases, that there was no Swine Flu virus present. At the time, the CDC said there were “tens of thousands” of cases present in the US.

And what did the CDC do next?

They doubled down and estimated there were 22 MILLION cases of Swine Flu in the US.

That’s the level of lying we’re dealing with here.

And now, the CDC says Ebola is on the loose! The diagnostic tests they’re running and relying on are useless. But everybody and his brother believes the CDC.

People dying in West Africa doesn’t automatically equal Ebola. You’ll hear, “What else could it be? It must be Ebola!”

People have all sorts of preconceptions that lead them to say, “It must be Ebola.” It works like this: We hear nothing about people dying. Then the press reports, “People are dying. It’s an outbreak. It’s Ebola.” And that is automatically accepted. Why? Because people (especially Americans) have been tuned up by decades of propaganda to believe whatever the government and the prestitute media tell them.

              • Mongo Pissed says:

Much of the population in West Africa has a suppressed immune system due to poor diet (for many, bordering starvation), and lack of clean drinking water. I know a woman from Senegal, educated in Paris as an MD, who said the majority of her countrymen were on subsistence diets – and that is one of the richer countries in the region. They have also been subject to WHO vaccination campaigns. People already harboring parasites (and not just the Soros variety) and endemic diseases are fair game for Ebola. The problem is with {engineered?) Ebola that does not kill as quickly as in the past. In prior African outbreaks, the victims died before they could transmit to enough people to sustain the outbreak. There should be thousands of cell-phone vids showing victims from the region. I have seen only a few on Youtube (with no way of knowing when it was taken, and if the symptoms were actually of Ebola). Be cautious, but do not panic. Westerners who have caught it to date are surviving.

              • yourmotherwaswrong says:

And that’s the key. It’s not the presence of the virus, but the lack of a strong immune system that’s the threat.

                Who is at greater risk?

                1. The person with a strong immune system who has contracted Ebola.

                2. The person with a weak immune system who has the common flu.

                The answer is 2!

“Be cautious, but do not panic. Westerners who have caught it to date are surviving.”

But wait… They will tell you all day long that Ebola is incurable; 100% fatal.

If that be the case, I think “they” have gotten a bit ahead of themselves.

Concerning the immune systems of the people in Africa…

According to the book, “The Hot Zone” a young white Europen boy was one of the first persons to contract the disease– his family was there on vacation. He died.

Also, a young white man from the US, I believe, who was first patient to contract it– he died.

If you kid yourself we are not so vulnerable… well, you are kidding yourself. This disease is DEADLY!!

Also, think about this: whenever the growth of a species rises at explosive rates, then they always fall at equally spectacular rates– disease always takes them down– whether its the deer population or the human population. They grow to their populations to huge numbers and then a bug comes along and the all die off except small number.

            • kynase says:

Yourmother- Again, you bring up a point, but whether we call this ebola or just hemorrhagic fever, it is still a horrific disease that is running rampant in Africa. It seems a bit naive on your part to assume this is just propaganda, or maybe you know something we don’t about viruses and their behaviors in a population. I’m not saying that the populace isn’t being lied to. There is no doubt in my mind that we are being lied to…but I am going to err on the side of caution.

I’m skeptical about your questioning on their confirmation tests. Having personally performed lab confirmatory tests, they are usually fairly accurate, though take a bit of time to run, depending on the type of test. Are you a trained scientists/doctor? If not, don’t speculate until you get your facts in order.

Ebola has been around for awhile…it is very fair to assume that what is happening is indeed happening, but we are not being told to the extent. But of course, it is all conjecture because unless we are actually there…none of us know for sure, not even you, yourmotherwaswrong.

              • yourmotherwaswrong says:

                kynase says:

If not, don’t speculate until you get your facts in order.

Well then, you are certainly aware that there are two tests used to determine if an individual has “Ebola.”

The first is the Antibody test. There are two problems with this test. First, the test is notorious for what’s called “cross-reactions.” That means the test isn’t really registering the presence of Ebola. It’s registering one of a whole host of other factors. For example, the patient received a vaccine, and that triggers a falsely positive reading.

Second, the Antibody test doesn’t say whether a person was sick, is sick, or will get sick. At best, if there are no cross-reactions, it merely says the person had contact with the virus in question. So a positive antibody test for Ebola is far from saying “this person has Ebola.” That’s a lie. In fact, before 1985, the general conclusion from positive antibody tests was: this is a good sign; the patient’s immune system contacted the germ and threw it off, defeated it.

The second test is the PCR test. This test is prone to many mistakes, starting with the tiny sample of material taken from the patient. Is it really genetic material, and is that material really a piece of the virus, or is it just a piece of general and irrelevant debris? The test itself takes that tiny sample and amplifies it millions of times so it can be observed. Assuming it is actually Ebola virus, or a fragment of Ebola virus, there is no indication there is enough of the virus in the patient’s body to make him/her sick. There have to be millions upon millions of active virus in the patient’s body to begin to say that virus is causing problems. The PCR test says nothing about that. In fact, why would it be necessary to do the PCR test at all? If the patient had enough Ebola virus in his/her body to cause illness, there was no need to conduct a PCR test. The virus would be everywhere.

I may not be a “trained scientist/doctor,” but I do know how to read, do research, and smell bullshit when it’s in the air!

BTW… What sort of “lab confirmatory tests” have you “personally performed?”

Where any of them the Viral Antibody test, or the Polymerase Chain Reaction test???

              • kynase says:

Yourmother- Thanks for asking…I will clarify. I’ve run antibody tests and a PCR machine. A PCR (Polymerase chain reaction)”TEST” is not something that exists. Calling it a “test” is using the term incorrectly. And I heard the guy from the CDC call it a PCR test…wrong. He is probably just the face and doesn’t know jack about the science. The PCR machine is merely a tool used to mass copy genetic material. One can then follow that up with another test which could include one of numerous methods to confirm the presence of a specific type of DNA or RNA. Because ebola is an RNA virus, I will assume (though I have not read how they are performing this test) they are targeting a specific RNA sequences found only in ebola.

Antigen-antibody tests can give false negatives and false positives, as with any test in research. The antigen clearly has to present to have a positive result. These are very sensitive tests and highly specific, as are DNA/RNA tests…though, there are always chances of errors in the results. Any good scientist would note this in their findings.

I’m not saying there’s not BS in the air, I’m just stating the the science behind these tests are sound. Not trying to pick a fight with you, but reading and doing are often times different things. Hopefully this clears the air about these types of tests. If you have anymore questions, just ask.

              • yourmotherwaswrong says:

You are quibbling semantics here. If you “run” a PCR machine, you are looking for the presence of genetic material that is suspected of being a component of the virus, and then “amplifying it” to a size where it can be identified and studied.

Sorry… but I call that “testing.”

You say: “Antigen-antibody tests can give false negatives and false positives.”

You then say: “ I’m just stating the science behind these tests are sound.”

How do you reconcile those two statements?

A test that yields “false negatives and false positives” surely can not be said to be “scientifically sound.”

              • kynase says:

yourmother- OMG. you are freakin’ hilarious. Even pregnancy tests (which are antigen-antibody tests) can give a false negative/false positive results. Doesn’t mean the test isn’t effective. You could test a person one day for cancer, comes back negative. The next day same person and the test is now positive. There are COUNTLESS factors that come into play and scientists/doctors know this. Normally these very specific tests are VERY accurate. Heck, most pregnancy pee on the stick tests are 99% accurate. But, there is a chance for error. Nothing, NOTHING, in science experimentation is 100% (due to deviations of populations and factors that cannot be controlled).

How do I reconcile my statement…as you asked? I am freakin’ smart, well trained, and stay on top of the ever changing science world. I’m pretty much a scientific bad-ass. You clearly are struggling with what can/could cause false negative and false positive results. Maybe if you understood the process and the molecular actions of these tests then you would understand what I’m talking about.

But, you are more interested in being “right” than listening to reason. So, I won’t engage with you any more on the topic unless you have a legitimate question and aren’t just trying to be right for the sake of being right because you don’t want to be wrong.

            Check this out:

•To give you some perspective on the falsity of the numbers being reported by your government keepers, there were 145.4 million Americans employed in 2008. There are now 146.6 million Americans employed. According to your leaders, the unemployment rate is exactly the same as it was in 2008. Think about that for one minute. There are 1.2 million more Americans employed than there were 6 years ago. Meanwhile, the working age population has risen by 14.7 million. What happened to the other 13 million Americans? According to these corrupt, lying, propaganda spewing oligarchs, these people just decided to live the easy life and leave the workforce. They didn’t leave the workforce, they were forced out by a dying economic system that threw them overboard to save Wall Street.
The true unemployment rate is north of 20%, at Depressionary levels. You know it. They know it. But they will lie and obfuscate until they have sucked this country dry of every penny.

Now get this…..acording to the Bureau of Labor reports stats, the Black/African american unemployment rates are always twice of what the caucasian rate is.

            Go figure.

While on the subject of Black Americans, the talk of major riots in Ferguson,MO is building.

“Ebola is a real disease that kills a lot of people.”

That’s “one of the dumbest things I ever read here.”

              Here’s the reality BC:

According to the CDCs case count, (updated October 3, 2014) total Ebola deaths for the entire world stand at 3.431 persons.

Contrast that statistic with this one.

According to the Association For Safe International Road Travel. (ASIRT)

Nearly 1.3 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,287 deaths a day.

I can’t get excited about Ebola.

              Some do.

              • Anonymous says:

Read, “The Hot Zone”, yourmotherwaswrong… then you WILL get excited about it… its the nature of the disease that is scary as hell… Stephen King said it was the scariest book he ever read. (True book!)

Plus, the fact that it kills 50-90% of its victims… plus, the fact that it DID become airborn in a very short time when they had it in labs in Va… it went from monkey to monkey who had no contact… it became airborn!!

This (unfortunately!) has the potential to become an extremely deadly pandemic– like the Black Plague. The fact that our “leaders” aren’t restricting flights and health officials have become so careless is unforgivable!

              • yourmotherwaswrong says:

If the death rate for Ebola is about 50-90%, and if there is no cure for Ebola, then how is it possible that 75% of the alleged patients in the FIRST epicenter of the outbreak (Guinea) have recovered? (Bloomberg, July 29, 2014)

The fact that 75% of the alleged patients have recovered without a known cure; since officially there is none; should be big news, yet that fact(oid) has died a swift death. WHY?

Airborne: Transmission, transmission, transmission, through this route and that route.

I have news for you Anon. Transmission does not automatically equal getting sick. If it did, the entire human race would have been wiped out centuries ago.

I can’t get excited about Ebola.

Its supposed to be funny… US sending troops to fight the desease– tiny island of Cuba sending doctors, nurses, etc.

I assume the troops are for the purpose of imposing quarantine measures? before, the people were breaking free because they were quarantined with no food or water! But with troops?

          • 41MagMan says:

Obama has no respect for our military whatever, so this is a great way to reduce their numbers. Doctors and nurses in medical moon suits are getting infected and they have no idea how it is happening. What does anyone suppose will happen when thousands of U troops are there? Yes, this IS a “Well, duh!” moment. Some of them will become infected as well, will return to the US, and anyone with whom they come into contact with could become infected as well.

Horrific as all this is, the bright side is that open borders fit in very nicely with the Dem political agenda of importing millions of prospective voters who do not know these POS politicians and who WILL vote for them because they threw open the gates.

      • Shooter says:

Ovomit won’t stop the plane loads from the Ebola zone because he wants more infected people in the USA. He’s a foreign enemy of the USA.

      • 41MagMan says:

As long as we are ring-fencing DC for damage control, put any Ebola patients in there as well. They should get along perfectly well.

    • Anon,

The powers that be are not interested in limiting the collateral damage. They arrogantly believe they can handle anything that comes their way. They don’t even consider this outbreak a crisis. But when the SHTF, they get to run things from the safety of their underground bunker, and we get measure the cost of their arrogance in the body bag count.

I see there may be some suspected Ebola cases in D.C.. That would be poetic justice in my book. Perhaps a little Ebola fear close to home might shake them up a bit.

      • Scavenger says:

And when they finally come out of those bunkers, there will be people there to greet them.

          • I actually somewhat agree with the CDC director, but not exactly for the same exact reasons. This idea is foolish and not thought through very well at all with a little critical thinking. Any one from West Africa wanting to fly to america, can do so from somewhere other than West Africa. If they wanted to be real serious, they would shut down all international flights coming into america from anywhere period!
But then with our open border and being not a country anymore with any kind of true sovereignty…..the flight thing really is moot.

            • Walt Kowalski says:

Yep…this genie has already been let out of the bottle.

But not putting on restrictions is not going help either. It will definitely speed up the rate at which the virus spreads, because you will have more people coming in who are infected.

            • Navy Vet says:

BJ … It’s my opinion that the real reason that flights from the hot zone will not be suspended is a purely economic one. Airlines will scream bloody murder if any government tries to invoke travel restrictions, since it will affect their bottom line. Also, it’s not just revenue generated by people travel. It’s also freight revenue.

I do know British Airways and Air France have suspended service from the hot zone at the request of their governments.

I guess the same common sense doesn’t prevail in US or other international carriers and governments.

              • sixpack says:

Haiti is also refusing the UN request to send workers into the hot zone too. It appears Haitians are one of few countries with a lick of sense. Israel said no too. The press is demonizing countries who don’t want ebola in their borders.

Agree completely, BJ. In fact, did not the infected fellow in Dallas first fly from West Africa to Belgium before continuing on to the US? If so, then how would stopping flights from West Africa have stopped him? It would not, of course.

With no effective border existing between the US and Mexico, any number of diseases not normally found in the US soon will be, if they are not here already. All of the US children coming down with respiratory diseases lately is just the tip of this iceberg. Tropical diseases are a bi+ch in the US because we have no immunity to them.

The American people(whatever that means anymore)deserve everything coming their way.

    • Winston Smith says:

The colossal amount of ignorance espoused by the CDC director is truly astounding. We could allow minimal exceptions for US citizens who wanted to come back and Liberians who wanted to go back home. We could also allow aid workers to travel there without letting the general public transit to and from the hot zone. It’s not that hard to do. They just don’t want to because it doesn’t further Obama’s agenda of making the US like the “rest of the world”, or, in other words, sick, dying of exotic diseases and impoverished. Fundamental transformation indeed.

      • Winston,

100% spot on correct! Limiting flights to the “Hot Zones” does not fit the current “We Are The World” B.S. narrative coming from the White House. What kind of crisis is this when elected officials refuse to do everything in their power to stop it?!?!

When is a crisis not a crisis? When those who are responsible for stopping the crisis see it as an opportunity for political gain. That probably explains why it took over 72 hours to get a hazmat cleanup crew to the infected Dallas apartment. No urgency what-so-ever on the part of the CDC.

      • Barn Cat says:

They’re not ignorant. They know EXACTLY what they’re doing.

    • hammerhead says:

That sounds like the CDC director is spewing rhetoric for the “open borders” crowd.

      • Charley Waite says:

That’s because you have to realize that every top official in this administration has been appointed for political purposes, not ability. Then worst of all is the evil assclown in charge, who only speaks out directly when it advances his agenda ( Ferguson, immigration) and remains silent on things (Russian hacking of JP Morgan, Ebola ) he needs to lead on.

        • sixpack says:

      My God….what stupidity.

Ok…let’s look at it and apply the numbers.

How many people catch a cold every year? Maybe 50% of the population? Let’s assume 50%. Then in a country of 300 million people, 150 million will catch a cold in any given year. Do 75 million out of those 150 million die?

If isolation/quarantine supposedly works, then how could banning air travel (quarantine the affected countries) not work? SAME THING!! Either quarantine works or it doesn’t! And if quarantine patients works then it stands to reason that quarantine countries with the disease must also work.

Furthermore, they wouldn’t have to ban all flights! They could still send supplies via planes to the affected areas. What they should do is restrict all air travel except for medical supplies/personnel and food supplies.

As a woman, I am tired of other women selling their wares. I have had to endure just as much feminism as you. Jessica is a feminist. Any woman who feels repressed because there is a dress standard in order to teach underage children is putting her desires and insecurities before the children she is teaching and the greater good. She is a feminist.

I find it fascinating that a man who doesn’t like feminists is okay with a bunch of low class feminists dressing in g-strings and flashing cleavage. You understand that much of the movement started with the women refusing to wear girdles, right? That is at the core of the movement. Make no mistake, I am completely opposed to girdles and hoop skirts and much of what women have endured over the generations in terms of dress. But a woman who insists she show cleavage while she teachers 3rd graders AND wants to show off her G-string is low class and a woman who fights to do so under those circumstances is a feminists.

I agree with much of yours replies, but you are so very wrong here. I respectfully and heartily disagree.

I’m also opposed to any violence against women. you don’t know how many times I’ve wanted to personally bash in some young punk’s skull when I hear about domestic violence cases. I LOVE women and always have. I have had some romantic troubles myself in the past but the relationships ALWAYS ENDED PEACEFULLY. I’ve always settled my disputes with women in a PEACEFUL AND SENSIBLE MANNER BY HAVING A CALM AND RATIONAL CONVERSATION ABOUT WHATEVER DISPUTES WE’VE HAD. I am also opposed to the way women are treated in Islamic nations, but I never hear any feminist groups address that issue. The US is in decline for many reasons, but there are people working to try to save this nation. I do believe you have legitimate concerns. Understand, crises like this just feeds the government and those in it. People threatened sick and dying is nothing to them other than another set of programs spending and taxes. It doesn’t care that a hundred die today or a thousand tomorrow or five thousand the next, the entire point of its existence is to feed and survive. Anything it can do to perpetuate its self is fair game. This is just part of the business.
It or they don’t give a flying rats ass what we as individuals or entirely as one mind think. (Except when they’re trying to get your vote)

As far as I can tell the White House Petitions was just a way to take money from the taxpayer to build some project and a way to pacify the people without any real intentions to do anything.
In fact, I just looked up the petition which got the 100k signatures… looks like now whitehouse REMOVES the old petition text so you can’t even see it. 23. Jessica says:

Women are denied the right to liberty under the oppressive Harper government.

A spate of revolts against school dress codes in the Toronto District School Board appears to be gaining .

Traditionally, a female teacher’s clothing must not reveal anything about her body. It is supposed to be thick, opaque, and loose.

On the other hand, forcing a female teacher to dress against her free choice is a violation of her human rights.

The Toronto District School Board, Elementary Federation of Teachers Ontario and Ontario Federation of Teachers agree that the
female teacher has the right to free and open expression of their identity, including the right for a female teacher to dress as she sees fit.

Toronto is a place where where it gets up to 40C and female teachers have to dress down to prevent dehydration. If parents and students
are unable to see that female teachers are dressing up for the weather, the parents and students needs some mental help.

A female teacher in Toronto is one of the most smartest women in the world. It should be empowering for a female teacher to display her
cleavage and thong tail because the patriarchy can no longer oppress her. Female teachers should be proud of their bodies, and the Toronto
District School Board is on the right track to loosen down the oppressive and misogynist dress codes.

God will bless you if you allow women to be free.

    • Mike in Va says:

Jessica I agree women should be free.

They should be allowed to wear what they want. When I was 15 – 18 as a young man in school I always wanted some of my teachers to show up naked. Just a young mans hormones. Hey at least they would be teaching us information on nudist colonies. In todays schools if they showed up naked and taught that subject the students would learn something. As it is now they don’t teach much of anything.

You lost me with the phrase “most smartest”. It’s a double positive and not proper grammar. Smartest would have sufficed.

As far as your point, well then let them wear loose fitting cotton tee shirts then. If it really DOES get up to 40c in the schools, then perhaps an air conditioning system could be budgeted for by the local school board. Sorry, but if you take a job with a dress code then you have to abide by it to a reasonable extent. Plenty of people have jobs that require wither uniforms or a strict dress code. Given the level of hormones present in a classroom, A reasonable expectation is that the teachers of both genders do not dress in a way that sexualizes the situation any more than it needs to be. You are there to teach, not to be seen as fashionable.

      • Winston Smith says:

Oh and, yes. I realize that my post was a fail in the proofreading department too. (I spotted 3 errors I should have edited out!)

However, I do fail to see what exactly your grousing about teacher dress codes in Toronto has to do with the subject at hand, namely the ebola virus. It’s one thing to go a little off topic but you went to an entirely different universe!

Remember when hundreds (thousands?) of Central American “children” were pouring over the southern border a short few months ago? Well, lo and behold, cases of Enterovirus 68 with polio-like effects are cropping up here, there, everywhere. What a surprise! That mystified the medical community.
Now we have Ebola. Think of the lives at stake–think of the unbelievable costs involved in treatment, decontamination and proper disposal of contaminants. Sealing borders or prohibiting flights, etc… are good plans. BUT the plans have to be followed through. Do people in “authority” have the stomach to follow through with common sense plans?

Well, certainly, prohibiting travel to the U.S. from Liberia will cause an international stir. Once we do it, all the other countries will do it as well.

With 4500 U.S. troops over there, a ban on “invasive reporting”, the Liberians will go into full panic mode.

They’ll scatter like wasps for fear of being “incinerated” or being subjected to some other mass scale military extermination process. I can only imagine what rumors will come about. And of course the scattering will increase Ebola propagation rates.

I’d vote to hold off right now on travel restrictions. We have not had an actual U.S. based transmission of Ebola as of this date.

I fully believe there is a humidity constraint to the transmission process (i.e. Dallas has an increased evaporation rate compared to Liberia) and thus we’re really, really lucky. Of course if we get Patient 1 then all bets are off.

Your government says everyone has a right to come here, even if it kills all of us.

  38. The Prophet says:

The nexg stage is “outbreak” where people run around like scared children and the infrastructure begins to crumble.

The next step is a form of austerity where people are encouraged to turn in their neighbors and family for something as simple as a sneeze or cough as the case may be.

  41. Stewpedaso says:

OK…this sounds retarded and you may not want to stake your life on it but here it goes. I have been reading all morning about the effects of copper on illnesses. Apparently not too long ago our grandparents would drink from copper cups 2 to 3 times a day and it had some pretty cool effects. I read further and there is actually science behind it and copper is antimicrobial. It works on both types of viruses (ones with and without protective envelopes)it actually kills influenza A type viruses. I tried to find out if it was effective against Ebola but there have been no trials. Now I’m not going to out and rub the shit all over myself to find out and niether should anyone ever, even if there was a cure. But if you look up the prices on a copper cup the prices are just stupid high. 25 bucks for a 4 oz cup. But you can keep it clean with lemon juice and baking soda. If you let water sit in the cup for 8 hours it has the desired effects. Toxicity may occur if you drink more than 3 cups a day. It sounds like a wives tale but it may hold water, its one of those things people used to know but forgot. The higher the concentration of copper the better. It couldn’t hurt…look into it.

  42. The Prophet says:

  52. Upstate New Yorker says:

I’ll take the above story one step further.

To quote Michael Savage, “I have a degree in Epidemiology. For Obama to bring Ebola into the United States, a country never touched/exposed to this disease, is an act of Treason. The first rule in epidemiology is one ‘Prevents a Disease from coming into a country. One contains and quarantines the disease. One does not bring it into a country that has never had the disease on its shores before’
Imho, I firmly believe Obama, or the powers that be, are trying to kill off as many of the mundane masses as they can. Obama should be tried for Treason, and be Impeached. At least 5 times over on each count.
Another quote from Michael Savage – Ebola, or any other disease, does not discriminate. It can affect anyone, rich, poor, all races, all cultures.
To me, it is obvious Obama does not care about the American people, the country America ( as he apologizes for the U.S. to other countries), the servicemen/women who care to protect this country.
I don’t respect him. I don’t trust him or his minions.

USMC Best Joke of the Year
A Marine squad was marching north of Fallujah when they came upon an Iraqi terrorist who was badly injured and unconscious. On the opposite side of the road was an American Marine in a similar but less serious state. The Marine was conscious and alert and as first aid was given to both men, the squad leader asked the injured Marine what had happened.

The Marine reported, I was heavily armed and moving north along the highway here, and coming south was a heavily armed insurgent. We saw each other and both took cover in the ditches along the road. I yelled
to him that Saddam Hussein was a miserable, lowlife scum bag who got
what he deserved. and he yelled back that Barack Obama is a lying, good-for-nothing, left wing Commie who isn’t even an American.

So I said that Osama Bin Laden dressed and acts like a frigid, mean-spirited lesbian! He retaliated by yelling, Oh yeah? Well, so does Nancy Pelosi!.

  57. Don’t you know? People who sign petitions such as this which are not in harmony with the ideologies of the president, will probably be amongst the FIRST to be rounded up and repopulated into those FEMA camps?

    • Chris McClelland says:

It matters not if you sign a petition or not? If you are an American citizen? YOU are the enemy. Period. If you are an unarmed American citizen? Then you are automatically DEAD when it comes down to the 11th hour.

We very possibly are standing on death’s ground which means that either way? You’re dead. But the question remains to be asked? Do you go out as an American citizen on your knees in a FEMA camp? Or fighting to save America?

NO ONE is saying we don’t need to worry about infectious diseases.
What several people are saying about Ebola, however, is that it is HIGHLY unlikely that Ebola is much of a threat to a country that practices 21st century medicine, instead of voodoo.
    Do you see the diffference?
Ebola, despite the media frenzy, is a non starter here (literally-1 guy has it, and it appears to be no other related cases at this time).
There are other things that are much worse for potential disruption here, yet people are wetting their panties about this bug.
Assuming this guy dies, that will be a sum total of….1.
In the same amount of time, (2ish weeks), how many people have died in this country of any other single cause?
    I don’t care what it was-pick one.
THAT hysteria is what most of us are getting tired of

  61. Booger says:

Just my take. Ebola is a disease, granted a very bad disease that I would not want to get. It was not formulated in some lab to be unleashed on an unsuspecting public. Just like the Black death wasn’t formulated in a lab and turned loose on Europe . there is nothing sinister here. there is incompetence, apathy and the carelessness by our Government. They are culpable and the politicians sure as hell aren’t going to get Ebola. However we a s a people need to DEMAND that we stop all flights from West Africa. Please sign the petition. Who knows maybe by the time Ebola gets to Kenya Brobama will get off the 8th hole and do something. Wishful thinking I know. Thanks.

  62. firefly88 says:

I would prepare for the worst and minimize your exposure to crowded areas. As it is already here and our government will not do a damn thing about it. It will be more slop as usual. I knew something was up when they patented it and brought those people over and had them stay in Georgia. Notice that they are not taking the same precautions. So, now you have to.

Never expect a bully to give you anything and the government is a bully just look at national disasters, civil unrest, and how you are dealt with by bully gangs like the IRS do you really think that the government is going to do something???? Really???

The 1918 Flu Virus Pandemic infected over 500 million people across the world, including the USA, remote Pacific islands and the Arctic, and killed 50 to 100 million of them, that’s a 10 to 20 percent death rate.

A large factor in the worldwide occurrence of this flu was increased travel. Modern transportation systems made it easier for soldiers, sailors, and civilian travelers to spread the disease.

Now we have Jumbo Jets and the Ebola Virus….. With a 70 to 90 percent death rate!
