We just got more evidence that our planet is becoming increasingly unstable. On Friday a magnitude 7.0 earthquake destroyed homes, ripped apart roads and destroyed infrastructure all throughout Anchorage, Alaska. According to the USGS, the earthquake hit at 8:29 AM and the epicenter was approximately 7 miles north of Anchorage. That quake was followed by a highly destructive magnitude 5.7 aftershock just a little while later. Alaska Governor Bill Walker has declared a state of emergency, and the entire region is in a state of chaos. Unfortunately, as global seismic activity continues to increase, more quakes like this are inevitable. Like Alaska, the entire west coast of the United States sits directly along the “Ring of Fire”, and many have warned that “the Big One” is coming sooner rather than later.

Tonight, large numbers of Anchorage residents are suddenly homeless, and that includes Alaska’s most famous politician

Light fixtures fell, glass shattered, roadways and supermarket aisles were awash from food spilled from broken jars. Video images showed some roadways had collapsed. One man tweeted a photo of his toppled chimney and a local television station showed its studio filled with debris.

Former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin tweeted, saying her family is intact but her “house is not.”

At this point it is extremely difficult to get around Anchorage. Numerous roads were shredded by the quake and that includes the only road to Wasilla

The quake was so strong it broke windows, cracked buildings and knocked local news station KTUU off air. Several highway and local roads crumbled in the temblor, stranding cars in the asphalt mess. The shake also broke up the only road connecting Anchorage and the nearby towns of Wasilla and Palmer.

It is going to take an extended period of time for authorities to assess the economic damage and to figure out how many human casualties there were.

Many took cover under desks and in closets as the shaking happened, but those caught out in the open didn’t have anywhere to go.

One local resident named Melissa Lohr said that it “felt like the ground was gonna open up” underneath her…

“It felt like my car was uncontrollably sliding left and right and I just didn’t understand because it was going perfectly fine up until then. It felt like the ground was gonna open up underneath you,” Lohr said.

In the aftermath of this Anchorage earthquake, many are wondering how long it will be before the west coast is struck by a major quake.

And the truth is that we have already been seeing quite a bit of shaking. In fact, a rather sizable earthquake did hit southern California very early on Thursday morning

A 4.1 earthquake has rattled California and parts of Mexico, with San Diego among the cities hit.

The earthquake struck California at 5.48am, waking up many residents in the south of the state and north-west Mexico. One resident said on earthquake tracking website EMSC-CSEM: “The roof creaked and the ground rumbled.” Another reported: “It woke me up.”

Those that have been living in California have been hearing about “the Big One” for decades, but it hasn’t happened yet.

So many of them have been lulled into a false sense of security, but that is a huge mistake.

According to Cal State Fullerton professor Matt Kirby, when “the Big One” finally does hit, large portions of the coastline could be plunged into the ocean “relatively instantaneously”

Cal State Fullerton professor Matt Kirby, who worked with the Leeper on the study, said the sinking would occur quickly and likely result in part of California being covered by the sea.

“It’s something that would happen relatively instantaneously,” Prof Kirby said. “Probably today if it happened, you would see seawater rushing in.”

Further north, the Cascadia Subduction Zone is a major concern.

Scientists assure us that someday a massive earthquake will strike along the Cascadia Subduction Zone which will destroy pretty much everything west of Interstate 5. The following comes from one of my previous articles

One day it will happen. With little or no warning, the Cascadia Subduction Zone will produce a catastrophic earthquake and accompanying tsunami that will essentially destroy everything west of Interstate 5 in the Pacific Northwest. It will be the worst natural disaster up to that point in American history, and as you will see below, the experts are saying that we are completely and utterly unprepared for it. Of course the San Andreas Fault gets more publicity, but the truth is that the Cascadia Subduction Zone is capable of producing a quake “almost 30 times more energetic” than anything the San Andreas Fault can produce. The Cascadia Subduction Zone stretches from northern Vancouver Island all the way down to northern California, and one expert recently told CBN News that all of the major cities in the region are essentially “built on a time bomb”…

For years I have been warning about the instability of the west coast, and this earthquake in Alaska should be a major wake up call.

The west coast is home to the core of our tech industry and some of the most expensive real estate in the entire world, but the clock is ticking for that entire region.

Without warning, someday “the Big One” will literally shred the entire coastline, and it will be a disaster unlike anything that we have ever seen before in American history.

  1. Maranatha says:

It wasn’t just the earthquake but two earthquakes and hundreds of aftershocks.

3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
    False Christs
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
    Mathew 24:3-8

The increase in seismic activity has been foretold.

PREPPING. Those of us that live in earthquake or tsunami zones have an additional reason to prep. It’s not IF these events will happen, it”s WHEN. In the meantime, my family continues to roll-the-dice.

In a free country, we make our own decisions as to what is “acceptable risk.”

    • Anonymous says:

How do yo prep for a major earthquake of Tsunami other than moving to a safer area?

      • rellik says:

From my observations and living in an area that gets is exposed to virtually every natural disaster you can imagine, Zoning laws and building codes are used to regulate construction and locations of structures.
Local people of course prep as a matter of course for disasters.
The problem we have is, we only make changes based on the last disaster.
This is understandable as costs really escalate when you try make life completely “safe” from disasters that have yet to have happened in an given locations recorded history. How do you evaluate the cost to prevent the damage of a “once every 500 year event” that has yet to happen, but may very well happen next year?
So people will continue build insufficiently reinforced structures and infrastructure in areas prone to hurricanes, earthquakes, flooding, tsunami’s, and other such problems.
Do your due diligence when deciding where to live.

        • Beaumont says:

Zoning laws and building codes are used to to force participation in a market, not to make structures more durable or livable. Building elements have been made out of hollow plastic and styrofoam. The mandatory plants are not especially pretty or durable. One acquaintance was forced to cover the expense of a new sidewalk, alongside a small farm, where we used to just walk by. It’s a bureaucracy, fake makework, and market controls, so onerous, so petty, that noone would be able pass muster. They are saddling cronies and favorites with fool’s errands, because noone else could afford to function.

  4. otnot says:

I live here and it wasn’t that bad compared to the 64 quake. We have many quakes here everyday. Quit sensationalizing everything.

    • Anon says:

      Otnot;
You are the voice of reason. I’m sure the quake was bad but I have wondered why I have seen the picture of the red suv on the sunken portion of road countless times? I remember the 1964 quake and the photos of road split and one side 20 ft. higher than the other. I think it was a lot worse in 64. Heck people were killed in Oregon camped on the beach when the Psunami hit.

    • Maranatha says:

There are more natural earthquakes (non-fracking related) in Alaska than in the other 49 states. That one in 1964 was among the most serious on the Ricter scale. Then significant changes were made to prepare in terms of new construction.

  5. Godsoldier says:

Im north of main new Madrid fault like middle west indiana nut still in affected area so the big question and my greatest concern is when the big one hits will it cause me to spill my beer cus that would be devastating. ..other than that i have earthquake, mine substidy ect ect.

  6. All the west coast cities drowned, as in the days of Noah. Seattle, Portland, Frisco, LA, etc…bastions of depravity and sin. So be it.!!!!

  7. The Deplorable Renegade says:

Godsoldier, I’m only an hour’s drive east of the New Madrid Fault in the TN-AR-MS area. I just hope to be permanently relocated to the BOL before New Madrid acts up.

  8. The Deplorable Renegade says:

West Coast is more than likely next.

  9. Exaggeration and fear monger, Michael Snyder, is at it again.

Alaska is always having earthquakes. If one happens to hit in a crowded city, there will be some people and their home’s effected. Sarah will survive. After all, the lady shoots bears.

California has nothing to do with this event in Alaska. This nonsense about the West Coast falling into the Ocean is laughable. Use some common sense. The worst earthquakes in history have not caused the West Coast to break away and so there is no reason to believe that such an event is possible let alone certain. Sunami has occurred in the States above California and can happen again. Volcanos along the Coastline present a reason to be concerned if you are close as these have erupted from time to time.

Keep things in perspective and don’t be manipulated by people who make a living scaring naive women and children. Men don’t run away from a little shaken up. The only real threat along the Coast is from the psychopaths flying chem trails, burning down forests, importing people, regulating everything from guns to construction and advocating “smart” cities because of ecological destruction that they caused.

  10. The Deplorable Renegade says:

B, you mean Cali won’t go into the ocean? WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

    • Anonymous says:

I think it will, Renegade. According to Edgar Cayce (“the Sleeping Prophet”), the catastrophic earth changes will begin with the breaking up of some conditions in the south sea (the only thing in the south sea/southern ocean) is Antarctica and climate scientists are VERY, VERY worried about a sudden, catastrophic collapse of that area (Antarctica)..

“and then, the destruction/inundation of the southern coasts of South Carolina and North Carolina… “then, ye may know it has begun,” sais Cayce. Also, “if there is the greater activities in Vesuvius or Pelee, then the southern coast of California– and the areas between Salt Lake and the southern portions of Nevada– may expect, within 3 months following same, an inundation by the earthquakes.”– Edgar Cayce Reading #1152-11, 8/13/41

Why should we listen to him? Well, he predicted the stock market crash in the 20’s and he predicted everything modern climate scientists are now predicting but he predicted it back in the 1930’s-1940’s.

Plus, its been only recently– only few years back– that scientists realized Antarctica was going to be affected by global warming. Before, scientists were saying that Antarctica is like a giant freezer and wouldn’t be affected by climate change. Now, they realize that was a false assumption because Antarctica IS being affected… and Cayce said all this back in the 1930s– said that Antarctica would be breaking up!!

SARAH PALIN’S HOUSE DESTROYED??!! That means she won’t be able to see Russia from her window any more!!! (There goes any chance for running for president again!) Thank God for little things.

  13. Anonymous says:

    EDGAR CAYCE READING #3976-15, 1/19/34:
“… the earth will be broken up in the western portion of America. The greater portion of Japan must go into the sea. The upper portion of Europe will be changed as in the twinkling of an eye. Land will appear off the east coast of America. There will be the upheavals in the Arctic and in the Antarctic that will make for the eruption of volcanoes in the torrid areas, and there will be the shifting then of the poles-

I used to have the book, “Earth Changes”, written by a scientist, who commented on Cayce’s predictions. He wrote how all of Cayce’s predictions were based on very valid data… basically, Cayce knew what he was talking about– while asleep! But when he woke up, he had no idea where the information came from!

While asleep, he was asked where the information came from and he said from the Akasha books of Records, which are available to all of us if we can tap into it. (He was a very devout Christian!) Poor, humble.

I’ve been an Anchorage resident for 35+ years and this was easily the worst earthquake of my life. Fortunately I had my bug out bag ready to go next to the front door, I was out of my home and on the road in a few minutes flat (had to put on pants first). My home was damaged and had a gas leak so after turning off the gas I got outta there fast.

Lines at all the gas station, some instances of price gouging on bottled water and LOTS of false information bombarding the local radio stations were the worst of it. I had my good friend Mr. Glock just in case things went sideways, but everyone behaved.

Make sure to have a plan!

  16. Mae Dawson says:

I live in the Cascadia Subduction Zone. For an extensive analysis of the potential for this area go to “cascadian.orgfree.com”. There’s some interesting info for prepers in the margins of this document, too, as well as some exploration of the ‘powers that be’ in relationship to us and what ‘they’ tell us, and why. For you folks in the New Madrid fault zone… there’s a very deep rift that runs diagonal across the country from the southern tip of Vancouver Island, through Yellowstone, and right to you. A Mega-quake at either end could trigger the other. Heads up!

  17. carter says:

It’s breakin’ up Cap’n. I can’t hold her together much longer. It’s OK Scottie, just gimme all you’ve got.

  18. Brian says:

Read John Casey’s book “Upheaval” which establishes a connection between solar cycles and seismic activity. The basic idea is that the sun’s activity diminishes cyclically, more cosmic radiation reaches earth, the atmospheric pressure increases, the atmosphere presses down on the earth’s surface resulting in more seismic activity. The solar cycles of the sun’s activity translate into seismic cycles. The best predictor for future earthquakes is the past history of where and when the earthquakes struck. The one that I fear the worst is on the New Madrid Seismic Zone.

  19. Maranatha says:

The Norwegians made two great family friendly films called The Wave which is sorta about a historical tsunami set in present day in a small town and The Quake about an earthquake that does enormous damage in a city. Both are very old school heroic films. I bet most preppers would like them.
