His computer forecasts are so accurate that in 1987 he took out a full page ad weeks in advance warning Americans of the coming Savings & Loan scandal and subsequent stock market crash. He pegged the crash to the very day it happened. A couple of years later in 1989 his “intelligent” computer models screamed warning signals about the coming collapse of the Japanese stock market, which he said would drop at least 20,000 points over a ten month period. He was, once again, dead on.

The destruction of the Russian ruble in the 1990’s, the rise and fall of the dot.com bubble, and the collapse of the U.S. economy in 2007-2008 were all verified predictions that he made well in advance of the events happening.

His models, which are based on historical cycles dating back thousands of years and take into account everything from economic statistics and capitals flows to government regulations and daily sentiment, led to such accurate forecasts that he was accused by the U.S. government of manipulating global stock markets. It was an accusation that left him imprisoned without official charge or trial for over half a decade, presumably because he refused to give away his computer model programs to intelligence agencies.

Whether you’ve heard of Martin Armstrong or not, his record speaks for itself. And if you have missed his insights and forecasts over the last several years (even those he wrote prior to his release from prison), it’s time you start paying attention.

Among his current forecasts Armstrong has argued that stock markets may drop a little in the near future but the Dow Jones is likely to go as high as 30,000 points. He says real estate will continue to collapse not just for a few years to come, but decades. And he says that a major cyclical turning point will take place in the Fall of 2015 (2015.75)wherein numerous sub-cycles will converge to create a perfect storm. It’s an event that doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it often changes the very face of the planet is it relates to politics, geographic borders, and economic influence.

Armstrong’s bottom line: Get ready for the end of the world as we have come to know it over the last several decades. Things are about to change – drastically.

In his most recent writing Armstrong responds to a reader who asks what we should expect going forward. His answers are typically well grounded and very rarely if ever sensationalized, so when he makes an analogy like the one you’ll read below, take it as a serious heads up to what might result when governments, economies, business and political forces converge in on themselves:

I understand that we are at a crossroads. The tree has been cut. Which way will it fall – authoritarian or democracy?

We can make a difference. Step one is understanding what is the problem. At least then we can address a solution with some reasonable game plan.

We have a great convergence coming. It is nothing to be afraid of and it is nothing we can ignore.

Yes a Mad Max event is possible.

The average person depends upon government tremendously – even those not on welfare. There are pensions and Social Security that people really believe they are “entitled” to and thus these benefits will exist. What happens when they realize they do not?

Socialism has even changed the historic bounds of family. You had 4 to 6 kids for that was your retirement. The kids knew they had the responsibility of taking care of their parents. Today – that’s government’s job. Everything has been changed to depend upon government that never tells the truth and they will defend to the very last drop of your blood.

Marriages were ARRANGED! The age difference was typically 25% during the 19th century. To sell movies, Hollywood turned lust into love at first sight. They painted the image of happily-ever-after. I spoke with film makers and they all said people did not want to leave a movie feeling depressed. They glorified marriage and set unrealistic standards. Consequently, the age difference collapsed and the divorce rate rose to 60%+ because of unrealistic expectations.

Pensions began as the marriage contract. The man had to first establish himself and then propose. The Dowry was all about ensuring the wife would be secure – the pension. It was not about “love at first sight” yet according to things like Match.COM, 70% of people dating expect love-at-first-sight. So many people have the wrong expectation of marriage and are thus doomed from the start.

Even the Black family was stronger than the white family before welfare. When you paid women not to be married and to have children, you change the family structure. Socialism has significantly altered the behavior of every race all based upon expectations of government.

Free food changes behavior be it people or animals. Being compassionate is to be human. To give a man a free fish and you feed him for a day. Tech him how to fish and your feed him for a lifetime. Government adopted the first strategy to create dependency upon the political system.

They tell you do not feed the bears in Yellowstone National Park because they then look for free food and no longer hunt. Humans are no different.

What happens when government collapses and people are totally unprepared because they never thought government collapses?

Source: Armstrong Economics via Zero Hedge

The answer should be pretty clear. Fully one-third of the American population depends on a government subsidy or distribution of some kind. Social Security, Welfare, Unemployment Insurance, Food Stamps, you name it. One in three Americans would be living on the streets if they didn’t get their monthly check.

Now, what happens when either that check stops coming, or prices for essential goods like food, energy, and housing inflate to such levels that monthly checks no longer cover the costs?

This is the inherent danger that exists within the system in which we live. Socialism, as Martin Armstrong notes, is our undoing and according to Margaret Thatcher will only work until we run out of other peoples’ money.

When that happens – and you better believe it will – America will collapse in on itself.

A Mad Max scenario, while unlikely, is certainly possible. So much so that the U.S. government has been actively preparing for this very possibility for the last decade. They’ve simulated large-scale economic collapse scenarios, complete with stockpiles of armaments and executive doomsday orders ready to be initiated when the right crisis strikes.

We inch closer every day. Are you prepared for it? Or do you still think the government will be there to save us when it happens?

Since everyone seems to hate this group, including me, I thought this would be appropriate… Enjoy…
The IRS suspected a fishing boat owner wasn’t paying proper wages to his deckhand and sent an agent to investigate him.
IRS AUDITOR: “I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them”.
Boat Owner: “Well, there’s Clarence, my deckhand, he’s been with me for 3 years. I pay him $1,000 a week plus free room and board. Then there’s the mentally challenged guy. He works about 18 hours every day and does about 90% of the work around here. He makes about $10 per week, pays his own room and board, and I buy him a bottle of Bacardi rum and a dozen Budweisers every Saturday night so he can cope with life. He also gets to sleep with my wife occasionally”.
IRS AUDITOR: “That’s the guy I want to talk to – the mentally challenged one”.
Boat Owner: “That would be me. What would you like to know”?

Been reading about primitive lifestyles from ages ago. Some modern day writers and thinkers believe primitive lifestyles were the best for man and they lasted for tens of thousands of years. When we went from being a hunter and gatherer into more formalized agriculture and farming, our culture changed. Then came the industrial age. Our civilization was changed drastically w/in a short amount of time and were doomed. Its filled w/ greed and destruction. Aint nothing sustainable w/ our world now and technology is making everything even worse. Globalization is the end all and thats what it was designed to do. Power for the few w/ slavery for the masses.
Armstrong is one smart dude but it dont take models to figure out what history shows us time and time again.

Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.
      Live simply.
      Get back to the land.
      Chop wood, carry water.
      Remember whats important.
      Give thanks to God.

I would suggest that NOW is the time to consider getting to your bug out location if you have one, or at least be ready to go in a moments notice. Whatever your plan, it is time to put it into action.

Make it your permanent home, and live in your “city” home as a temporary shelter with all energy being focused on getting out permanently as soon as possible.

People have been asking for years, “What’s the end game?”.

This Ebola Attack IS the beginning of the end game. You will either be killed by the virus, or by the forced vaccinations, if the banksters have their way.

If you do not already have or get the means to make colloidal silver TODAY, you will most likely die. If you red flag this posting, it’s your life. I think there is a 3 or 4 week time frame before the true scope of the Attack is made public by the attackers, who will consistently refer to it as an outbreak or pandemic instead of what it actually is.

The End Game being played out right in front of you NOW. The People of the United States Of America are under a biological attack by agents in the United States Government. There is no doubt about it and you should begin to accept that and plan to live through it no matter what they do.

There will be unimaginable horror over the next several months as you watch loved ones die and hear of death tolls in the tens of millions. If only they had listened to you, right?

The banksters know that there is only one way to disarm the American people, and that is to kill them off first. Resistance is not futile, it is the only way you will survive.

People want to know when to act and how. Now is the time to act, and the only thing you can do is protect yourself from what is coming and be ready to see a lot of things you can’t even comprehend seeing today.

I have been posting here a long time, and I don’t say things like this without meaning it and having ample reason to believe I am correct.

I am sending a warning to all that this is NOT a drill or test. Those have already been done. All of the preparations have been made to kill us in the millions, and to remove any doubt about the fate of America. Billions of bullets, hundreds of thousands of coffins big enough to hold ten people each, military assets in local areas all through the country.

What you have been prepping for is here now. Hunker down and ride out the storm. Cut electronic communications with those who refuse to cut electronic communications. Become invisible.

Things will go down slowly at first. There needs to be enough “naturally occurring” cases in order to cover unleashing openly.

Don’t think that because it doesn’t happen in the next two or three weeks that I am wrong. It may take 30 to 60 days to go down.

If you don’t see me around here for a while, don’t worry. I will be safe and my family protected from the Ebola threat and whatever other virus the attack with.

          I wish you the same.

          • That is the most insane thing I have ever heard.

true that, but russia, eastern europe & all the ‘stan’ countries went thru some really hard times complete with major economic dislocation & suffering. in the former yugoslavia, it ended with civil war. chechnya is still a mess from it all. russia itself today certainly has a serious problem relating to organized crime/mafya.

my point being, it’s not like everything was hunky-dory after communism ‘fell’ back in 1991, nor is it so today.

strangely enough, russia might be on the right track now while america is clearly on the wrong one. this 80s kid whose church used to pray for conversion in russia can’t help but wonder: what up with that?

              • WhoWuddaThunkIt says:

Joke theft is the act of performing and taking credit for comic material written by another person without their consent. This is a form of plagiarism and sometimes can be copyright infringement.[citation needed]
A common epithet for a joke thief is “hack”, which is derived from the term, “hackneyed” (Meaning, “over used and thus cheapened, or trite”).[1]

                Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joke_theft

Now in eppe’s case here he is using jokes as his main purpose on this site, and offers little of any other sort of substance or fails to comment to the actual article or any other advice towards prepping. So when I called him out for his signature purpose of posting jokes, and declared him a Joke thief, he becomes very unsettled, cause he has nothing else to lean on. If eppe had contributed a lot of other good information and posts a joke here and there, well no problem, since we can all do it. But he consistently day after day uses stolen jokes as his main event or purpose, then he should be called out as a Fraud. I even asked if eppe is so funny that he post his own jokes, and he has jet to do so. So lets see if in the future eppe starts posting the source of his daily jokes or still tries to pass them off as his own material.

                Recourse and consequences
There is, historically, very little legal recourse taken in cases of joke theft. Some comics, however, have chosen to exact their own justice. W. C. Fields reportedly paid fifty dollars to have a thieving comic’s legs broken.[3]

                Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joke_theft

Soon eppe won’t have a single leg to stand on. bwhaaaaaa Yes that was my original joke.

While the next crash could occur at any time because all of the precursors are in place, an extended bear market could develop within a lower trading range as seems to be the case based upon the past week or so. I have said as much here several times since July.

A great expose’ at Zero Hedge about the 666 HFT manipulation, which confirms that the PTB do not yet want a Crash, but they may not be able to control events as much as they like. Any retracement of 25% or less over a few days or weeks would likely be of short duration until late Spring of next year.

The demographics for housing are over as I have said here for a couple years, and for those with cash it is a good time to buy a house or land at a serious discount if you are a good negotiator, understand the market, and recognize your financial strength. Knowledge is power. Get some.

The next Crash is just another business cycle concluding while the FED mops up the remains from the last debacle. It is NOT FINANCIAL TEOTWAWKI.

              • “The demographics for housing are over as I have said here for a couple years.”

Well lets look at some fundamentals

o !/3 of collage grads are living with their parents because they cannot afford a cheap shared APARTMENT.

o Obama Death Care is chopping hours to less than 30 a week

o 70% of many jobs are working part time.

o Many young people around here consider 14 bucks/hour a decent job.

During past pandemics, how many people survived in cities? How many survived in mountainous/ rural areas? Like you said, “location, location, location.” 🙂

            • Walt Kowalski says:

I said on the thread from yesterday that if I had a bugout location to go to, I would be loading the truck now.

If we do in fact have an Ebola epidemic in this country, waiting until the epidemic is upon us to relocate, will be too late. You’ll never make it to your location unless you can find a way around the traffic jams and check points…AND….your location is within the distance you can travel without refueling.

If things go bad due to Ebola, expect them to go very bad, very quickly.

              • Walt Kowalski says:

I would add…..I do not fear Ebola itself. I can hunker down in my house and get by just fine. Being in Texas, I would actually prefer that this occur in winter rather than summer. I don’t need electricity to heat the house.

                My concern is two-fold…

                1. Civil unrest

                2. The government

And not necessarily in that order. My biggest concern is if the government goes house to house trying to force people into taking vaccinations. I’ve already stated, I will not comply. I would imagine it will all go downhill from there. The only hope I would have is that they will be too busy trying to quell riots and looting. I feel a little more confident about protecting my family, myself and possessions. Well aimed fire tends to discourage those who would try to take advantage of the situation.

              • Grey Dog says:

Ebola is a blip on the radar of deadly communicable diseases that run rampant through Africa. If your concerns were anything but overblown we should have stopped flying there a long time ago. I read somewhere that over 60% of deaths in Africa are from communicable disease, Ebola isn’t even a ranking contender for the most deadly there. So forgive me for not getting my panties in a wad just because the deaths are more gruesome than some of the others. Although I hazard a guess that a cholera death is no cake walk

              • Walt Kowalski says:

                @Grey Dog

Statistics like that are meaningless. They are like the comparisons I’ve heard made between Ebola and seasonal flu. The line goes, “we have hundreds of thousands of cases of flu every year, and nobody gets upset about that.”

The problem with that line of reasoning, is that seasonal flu, or the complications arising from it, do not end up killing 50-70% of the people who are infected.

What other communicable disease in Africa is bringing the economy of the affected region to a virtual standstill? What other disease has people literally dying in the streets….having been turned away from the hospitals? And what other disease in Africa is killing hundreds of medical workers who are treating its victims?

As Mark Twain once said, “There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.”

When it comes to Ebola, you would do well to compare apples to apples…and not apples and oranges.

GUN BUYING FASTER in 2014 than 2012- America is Getting Rampped up for the Government Martial Law Scam.

NICS Checks Show Gun Purchases Strong in 2014

            Posted on October 10, 2014
New numbers reported by the FBI suggest that Americans may be buying firearms at a slightly higher rate in 2014 than they did in 2012, following a record number of checks during the “surge” brought on by President Barack Obama’s re-election in November 2012 and his subsequent campaign for gun control.

Because Americans bought guns at an unusually high rate in 2013, some commentators have compared the 2013 numbers to those in 2014 and on that basis claimed that gun purchases are in serious decline. However, that’s like saying that a professional football team’s offense is waning, because after racking up 30 points in the first quarter and 40 points in the second quarter, it has scored only 24 points in the first eleven minutes of the third quarter.

Thus far in 2014, there have been 8.33 million checks for the purchase of firearms, compared to 8.29 million for the same period in 2012, and smaller numbers in previous years. These figures don’t include checks conducted for the purposes of purchase or carry permits, or several relatively uncommon categories of checks, nor do they indicate how many firearms were transferred as a result of the checks. NICS check numbers don’t indicate gun sales as accurately as firearm manufacturing and import statistics, but they are more up-to-date in general and they are updated on a monthly basis.

I think in a shtf situation We wont be able to hide or bug out with the cows. However we could take the goats as they can survive almost anyplace. I also have lots of steel traps. My bug out bag is a pack saddle for my burro that has useful items and a little bit of food. I cashed stuff in several locations that are only accessable on foot. I think starving humans and a tyrannical govt. are a greater threat than Ebola.

Prepare yourself spiritually. This will give you strength to face whatever storm heads our way.

Don’t give up! Whatever knowledge you have gained and items you have saved will help you and your family. It is frustrating – our money seems to buy less and less these days. Food storage doesn’t have to be fancy foods. Basic foods like dried beans, rice, oatmeal, canned vegetables & tomatoes, pasta, olive oil, etc. are least expensive and have a long shelf life.

Everyone should have a garden. This will help in building a food stock. (Note: Container gardening works too. Fancy and expensive large containers aren’t necessary. Plants will grow in inexpensive 5 gallon containers. Just add a few holes in the bottom for drainage.)

Search out “pick your own” farms in your area. If you can pick your own strawberries, blackberries, apples, etc. and then preserve them … you will save money.

Get some heirloom or non-hybrid seeds. These are sold at a number of different places.

Can or dehydrate your food. I bought a couple dehydrators at an outlet store. They are just basic models, but work fine. I like to dehydrate food, as it takes up less space. I store (and date on label) dehydrated vegetables in empty and cleaned mayonnaise jars. Remember the FIFO rule – first in, first out. (Use older food first.) I use these in making stews, soups, spaghetti sauce, etc.

I am not an expert in this by any means. I am learning.

“The Encyclopedia of Country Living” by Carla Emery is an excellent reference. It is the ‘original manual for living off the land & doing it yourself.’

        Thought for the Day

        Saint Theresa’s prayer:
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.

          KY Mom: “Prepare yourself spiritually.”

          Best advice ever!

Suppose some driver t-bones you in an intersection during a SHTF calamity event as you’re driving home to your family to bunker down. You’re dead. And your family is wondering where the heck are you. Moreover, while you did an awesome job with preps and with building skills in using your preps for the SHTF scenario that’s unfolding as you expected, spending a sizable amount of money, time, and effort to prepare, you’re dead!!

And you’re not spiritually prepared, and your family’s not either. What then, live-for-the-life-on-earth prepper?

Follow KY Mom’s suggestion: Prepare yourself spiritually. Trust the One who Died on the Cross and Resurrected. That’s the Prep above all preps.

          • WhoWuddaThunkIt says:

KY Mom, There has been a lot of discussions in other forums about if the main prepper id dead or is not there, and they best answer is to create a 3 ring binder of “What If’s” and “How To’s” How to clean a gun, how to filter water, how to grow crops, how to bug out, how to can food, how to give first aid, etc. So if one person in your group is missing the rest can refer to the 3 ring binder books. It is also a great plan for every one in your group to also “CROSSTRAIN” in every aspect of your prepping, so everyone knows how to clean a gun collect water, cann food, give first aid, how to fish, hunt and trap. You are only as strong as your weakest link. Train and cross train for every aspect of your groups survival. That’s why they make FUN family weekend for. Have fun with it. Cheers!!

Pick up one of those blaze orange stocking caps that they sell for about a buck, and carry it in your backpack or daypack or belly pack and then if your out hiking and happen to get lost or turned around it will come in very handy. It gets pretty cool at night in the mountains even in the summer. If you wear a cap, you can put it on right over your cap and it will help keep you warm, and if lost it will make it much easier for Search and Rescue to find you if searching from the air. Another trick we used to use when deer hunting in a large wooded area, and that was if there was anybody in the group that did not make it back to camp at least 20 minutes before dark time, that we would honk the car horn about 6 times, every 5 to 10 mins, so if someone was lost out there, they could start heading back in the direction of the camp. Over the years, that did use that method several times helping a few in our group find their way back in the dense forest.

This surfaced a few months after the Fukishima accident, about the same time the plume officially hit our Oregon shores. I don’t know that it’s related, but they’re calling this condition “common” now.

You are referring to DCA. The original studies on this, were done by the University of Southern Alberta. They asked for a grant from the government, to conduct proper human tests, but the government refused to fund it. So, they had a fund-raiser in their city, and enough was raised for that.
The CDC is still refusing to certify for that use, so essentilly, it is illegal to prescribe or administer.
Never the less, there is now a clinic in Toronto who is advertising it for the terminally ill. They have an outpatient operation, and the drug itself is very cheap. When- no if- I am diagnosed with cancer, that is one of the first things I will be looking closer at. Ya wanna come up to Canada for this treatment- you can crash on my couch. (I have to warn Ya- us Canucks party pretty hard.

              • Sixpack,

Terribly sorry to hear about the diagnosis. I hope with competent medical attention it can be cured. Last year I ceased all business travel to Japan. Fukushima is still a radioactive hot zone and will remain so for the next several hundred years.

Birth defects and lower birth rates are already rapidly accelerating in Japan to the point where the government is encouraging Japanese couples to have more children as quickly as possible. Isn’t that just wonderful(sarcasm)? Just what Japanese need to do, expose more children to that radioactive toxic cesspool.

Governments are grotesquely self-serving, unscrupulous, and unconscionable. Is it any wonder why annualized Japanese household spending has plummeted by over 20% over the last few quarters?

Frankly I am far more worried about Americans and our exposure to the radioactive fallout than anything else.

                Be well sixpack.

BTW/ Alvin Toffler author of “Future Shock” also wrote a good book back in the early 80’s Called “THE THIRD WAVE”

It is similar to what you describe –

The First Wave is the settled agricultural society which prevailed in much of the world after the Neolithic Revolution, which replaced hunter-gatherer cultures.

The Second Wave is Industrial Age society. The Second Wave began in Western Europe with the Industrial Revolution, and subsequently spread across the world. Key aspects of Second Wave society are the nuclear family, a factory-type education system and the corporation. Toffler writes:
“The Second Wave Society is industrial and based on mass production, mass distribution, mass consumption, mass education, mass media, mass recreation, mass entertainment, and weapons of mass destruction. You combine those things with standardization, centralization, concentration, and synchronization, and you wind up with a style of organization we call bureaucracy.”

The Third Wave is the post-industrial society. Toffler says that since the late 1950s most countries have been transitioning from a Second Wave society into a Third Wave society. He coined many words to describe it and mentions names invented by others, such as the “Information Age.”

      • This of course assumes the evolutionary world view. The Biblical world view says the earth is only several thousand years old, probably 6,000, and that the surface we see today as well as most of the geology, was formed or drastically altered only 4,500 years ago, by the flood judgment on the earth, which was not just rain but a geological cataclysm. This limits the timeframe for man’s time on earth. Also, in the last several years, some genetic researchers have shown that at the rate of accumulation of mutations, man has less than 10,000 years left and will be increasingly and finally unfit to live and unfit to reproduce. This same evidence indicates a starting point for man, when genomic information was pure, unadulterated, and original to start with, i.e. written by God, before any decay started. There is archeological evidence, too, that man was not dumb in the past, but just as smart or smarter than we are today.

On Ebola crisis: The MSM is at it again- feeding people bull shit. Now, Friedan, head of CDC, is comparing the Ebola crisis to the AIDS crisis. They know dern well Ebola is a hell of a lot worse than AIDS!

Ebola has the potential to become a pandemic– as in, half the world’s population dieing off. It has the potential to become as bad as the Black Death– the plague of the 1440’s which killed off half the planet!

AIDS is no comparison– AIDS was restricted to certain people/ under certain circumstances… Ebola is equal opportunity disease– Ebola doesn’t care if you aren’t shooting up, are gay, or promiscuous– it can kill you no matter what your sexual preference or what your hobbies are.

According to the CDC, there will be around 1.4 million cases of Ebola by Janurary– Can you imagine the Ebola crisis 150 times worse than it is now? And the CDC said it will take a year to get this under control. A couple virologists have said that the time to get it under control was back in June– they didn’t! Now, it is unstoppable!

To the MSM and our “Leaders”…please spare us the platitudes.. we know how bad this is!

WWTI, the last time I checked, there is no copyright on any jokes of any kind. They are free to be distributed to whomever. I don’t care where Eppe gets the jokes from. He provides a valuable service to us keeping us laughing and smiling considering everything that’s going on right now. I don’t see any good reason for you to bash him, so back off.

              • Archivist says:

All new jokes are mere variations of older jokes. Jokes go back to ancient times and therefore are not covered by copyright.

You can’t find anyone alive who has written a completely original new joke. I read a story years ago about how jokes were originally implanted in peoples’ heads as an experiment by aliens. That was supposed to be a humorous explanation of why you can’t find the origins of any basic joke.

BTW, if you find a joke on the internet, it is guaranteed to be unoriginal and not written by the poster.

Even what you wrote above about “plants and stars,” although slightly humorous, was not original. Sound alikes and misspellings have been the subjects of jokes as long as I can remember. Just look up funny church bulletins. Example: “Thursday night: Potluck Supper – Prayer and medication will follow.”

        • Navy Vet says:

Also off main topic but Ebola related, more specifically on the subject of quarantining travel out of the affected countries, from “The Hot Zone” pg 85, which I’m currently reading:

The scene is set in 1976 where two doctors from the CDC are traveling via Land Rover to Bumba, Zaire to see if they can track down the source of the then current Ebola outbreak.

“Occasionally they came to villages, and at each village they encountered a road block of fallen trees. Having had CENTURIES of experience with the small pox virus, the village elders had instituted their own methods for controlling the virus (Ebola), according to their perceived wisdom, which was to cut their villages off from the rest of the world, to PROTECT their people from a raging plague. It was reverse quarantine, an ancient practice in Africa…”

So, 40 years ago, illiterate people living in small villages,in the bush in Africa, are smart enough to take measures (restricting travel) to protect themselves from a plague that kills most of them, but our modern, highly educated leaders THINK that they can control Ebola with our supposed highly developed health care system.

These are the idiots that we elect to protect our nation.

Not even as smart as illiterate people living in the bush in Africa.

Ever been $50k in the hole and then you’re gonna lose your job? You’ll do literally ANYTHING to make your next minimum payment. If that includes putting a bunch of people at risk, I assure you they’ll do it.

This. THIS. Is why debt matters. This is why. Sure it don’t matter when everything’s happy and peachy. How long does that usually last?

Because with no debt, with the surplus y’all SHOULD have, you could go into lockdown for 5 years and it would suck but it would be ok.

Astounds me when government says “debt doesn’t matter”.

            • WhoWuddaThunkIt says:

The Government helps Banksters devious plan to bankrupt Americans and kick us all out of our homes, take our homes and property, then rent them back to us, creating an endless cycle of debt and hapless minions.

Want to really put the hurt on banks, Stop all together everyone at the same time, stop making any debt payments to any bank. There is no way they could enforce their debt. We would bankrupt them in a few months. Just like a sit down strike, F-em. As long as we keep going along making payments, they have us by the balls.

So in the end, all of us are criminals – governments and rogue preppers whom defend themselves. The slaves will be TREATED LIKE CRIMINALS. So what’s the difference when SHTF? Nothing, we’ll all need to stand up for whats rightfully ours … OR be treated like criminals regardless, by criminals. Likely, so long as the “enlightened” left them alone, and left to their methods, it seems they fared alright.

Now enter “the enlightened” meddling in their life.

The moderation delay placed this well after the post I intended to refer to.

This is related to “Navy Vet” above.

Supporting his comment “Not even as smart as illiterate people living in the bush in Africa”

My assertion is that illiterate does not necessarily mean “STUPID”

              • Navy Vet says:

Jake … That’s why I called them illiterate as in: unable to read or write, in contrast to our supposedly well educated elected officials who can’t think past their nose.

I think you assumed things, from my post, that weren’t there or you don’t understand the meaning of illiterate.

Jake, but you didn’t assert “support” until your second post, where in that second post you asserted “stupid”, which was my interpretation of your first post ““ILLITERATE” is it?”

Both of your posts clearly tell me that you do NOT understand the definition of illiterate, even though I defined it for you and illustrated why I used that word, a common mistake.

You’ed think that being born in Kenya Obumer would have picked up on that old trick. But me thinks this isn’t the big picture his handlers are after. And a spread of “Obola” will drive that final nail into the “We are in-acting martial law, NOW” that they are after.

          @Anonymous….

Yep…thing about AIDS was…if you didn’t male homosexual sex….didn’t do IV drugs or have sex with those who did….or didn’t have a blood transfusion that was infected with HIV…..your chances of getting AIDS were virtually zero.

Ebola is an equal opportunity killer. MUCH easier to catch. Not even close in comparison.

As I have stated MANY times here. The spread of this virus is exponential. And the result of that is, there are ever increasing odds that it will spread into areas where it has never been before. Again…the reason is because previous outbreaks occurred in rural areas where the people affected were contained. The virus literally burned itself out.

Now…..it’s very likely that it is boarding airplanes every day.

I heard today (not verified) that dogs were observed licking up the vomit left on the street by Eric Duncan as he was being loaded into the ambulance at his residence in Dallas. Evidently, dogs are known to be asymptomatic carriers of the Ebola virus. So…..where did the dogs go?

I fear the genie is out of the bottle.

I really hope I’m wrong about this.

Eppe, I chose the name ‘braveheart’ from the movie starring Mel Gibson by the same name. It’s based upon the true story of a Scottish patriot fighting for his country’s independence against English tyranny and oppression. His nickname was braveheart. So I adopted the name since I felt I could identify with William Wallace aka Braveheart. And NOBODY plays the underdog like Mel Gibson can. He’s also one of only a handful of GOOD people in Hollywood.

            • Meathead says:

Renegade Braveheart, you mentioned Mel Gibson in the movie Braveheart. My wife and I still watch the movie DVD. Great movie. And I think Gibson got a shitty deal with all the fallout from his DUI bust. But it tells us who really runs things in Hollyweird.
I did read a comment somewhere stating actors and movie producers are leaving the politically correct Hollywood scene. They’re still making movies and doing well.
My handle was a random choice; it had nothing to with the Archie Bunker TV series.

              • eppe says:

Meathead, I agree with you there, when Mel did the movie on Jesus, he made millions, and asked many to invest, many did not, and he walked away showing he was correct. Did you know he was a New Yorker, his father did not agree with the Vietnam war, and moved to Australia? Then he did the first movie ‘Road Warrior’, which led to Mad Max, and then his profession bloomed?
                ht tp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_Max_2
I admire him, since in his first movie, it was a ‘b’ class movie, but was outside the box, and was a midnight movie on many theatres here in the USA. He is one cool cookie, heard he owns tons of acreage in Australia.
Ready down under, what are your comments on this???

              • Meathead says:

Eppe, I’m replying to your comment below. Welcome back to the forum.
I saw the Road Warrior right around the time it first came out. I was amazed by all the punk rockers chasing each other around in the Australian desert; thought it was a helluva movie. Wez was quite a character. Scary looking bastard. Some of the stunt driving scenes reminded me of I-15 traffic in Salt Lake County.
Anyway, yeah, Mel is from New York. He made some great movies.

              • the renegade braveheart says:

Meathead, that goes to show you not everyone in Hollywood has their head up their a$$. I’ve got the DVD, of course, and still watch it on occasion. That movie gives me inspiration. Kudos to the ones who have left and will leave at some point.

I collect information and media. I have everything from 400-year-old history books to the complete set of “Wild Wild West” TV shows, including the movies. I never dispose of anything. I have original cylinder recordings, 1835 almanac disposed of by the Weather Bureau, sheet music from the late 1800s on, phonograph records from 1901 on, home movies (some from outside the family) from the 1940s on, and all the proper equipment to play all the records, tapes, and films.

In case of total collapse, I have all the knowledge necessary for rebuilding, from carpentry and gardening all the way to nuclear physics.

I started collecting information over 50 years ago, mainly because of the way my brain is wired. I am obsessive over a few things and have more IQ than modern employers are willing to allow someone to use on the job. That’s why I became John Galt ten years ago. I became tired of ignorant micromanagers.

Hopefully it is never needed, and one less thing to fear now that the kit is complete. Some of the top picks were:

      Unscented Bleach
      4 Mil Plastic Drop Cloths
      Tychem Suits

      N100 Respirators

Just a few cut n Paste sources of that IRS joke. Do you have any original jokes you make up your self, or is all you got is cut and paste skills of plagiarism to earn green thumbs? How about any contributions to the subject of Mac’s article. Any prepping info you can contribute?

      • WhoWuddaThunkIt says:

As a followup. When cutting and pasting information from one article or a joke or information, you should be also posting the link of the source. If someone Stole Mac’s Article Work and presented as their own it is Plagiarism. Mac also has to get permission to repost information from other news sources and Mac surely lists the Author’s Name as a credit to the article and the identity of the Article and source. There is enough theft going on in the world, just a heads up. Some people think eppe is funny, when it is theft and plagiarism taking credit for someone else’s joke.

You sound pretty defensive cause I busted you for stealing jokes. Obviously since you have no jokes of your own, you resort to stealing other material and try to pass it off as your own. You are nothing more than a common thief. You will be dealt with by your maker or someone else during the culling. Yes thieves are on my culling list. Maybe our paths will cross.

            • Skeptic says:

              Hi eppe;
I have yet to see a joke coyrighted. Someone once told me that a lot of the jokes are developed in prisons. The people incarcerated have a fair amount of time on their hands and not all of them are stupid. Any truth in that? PS I enjoy your humor. I ask an occasional question here about gen sets, battery banks, etc. and never get much response. Prepping is a hell of a lot more involved than medication, guns, and food. I want power for a couple of years with fossil fuel sources and not live under a rock. From your occasional comments about prepping I wonder if you are not a little more hands on than you let people know. What kind of power sources do these folks have? Any readers of this web site have hydro? I’d feel pretty stupid if people in the middle of the jungles of Africa and South America had power and I did not.
Anyway, keep up the humor and don’t let the rude fucks run you off, though I don’t know if I could handle the insults either.

              • eppe says:

Thanks Skeptic, yes, you are correct on alternative power. Been researching solar, wind, hydro for years. We have much to learn on how to make electricty as we know it. Tesla invented many things, like AC power, electromagnetic power (running off the power spun by the earth) and other things like collecting lighting strikes collected in a central ‘battery’. I have done extensive research on his patents, and found that those in power do not want these FREE electricity elements to surface, hence taking away money from them. It is a shame that those in power, cannot let free thinking let us all be free from a continously be in dept in using what they have set up. I think that we all have been set up to use thier inventions to pay them money forever. I plan to get off the grid, make my own power, food, income, and life in general without the govt. If someone could come up with a way to store power, in a small device, and power a home, business, or bigger, we would put the electricity business out of business. Yes I believe we can, just making it worldwide, well that is the problem.
Ford made a car from cannibis, body wise, said he could grow cars. Makes sense, to do away with steel in that factor, Tesla ran a car off electricty from the Earth for 96 hours, maxxing out the speed all the way. Those in power either bought out the patents, so they would never surface, so they were in control, or wiped them off the Earth so the invention would never gain a foothold. Many people have great ideas, just those in power do not let it happen, so they can profit forever. I say kill them all, and let common sense prevail….

Regarding your energy, I have thought about this over and over, and have decided not to be dependent on energy, and do not freeze meat and resort to canning it. Dehydration is another method. You should consult websites that deal with energy for lasting. Even a large battery bank needs to be replace after 3 to 5 years, so what will you do after that if the grid is never restored? And even if you spend tens of thousands of dollars of resources, an EMP can crash the entire system then you are back at square one. I just suggest reduce your dependency entire on the grid. Stock up on oil lamps, go to bed at dark and get up ar first daylight.

May see you later planners, I do not have to put up with WWTI’s abuse. It is posters like this that makes others leave this site. He has said that I was lying about his posts about culling those who have faith. Well, here it is. And it has been only 3 days…
Since Pissed Off Granny, myself, and many others are still waiting on WhoWuddaThunkIt’s answer on where humanity started, then LIED to all of us that he posted his belief(or non belief), which is a joke. Below is a joke from somewhere. Who knows who came up with it, there is no name attached, but I am sure WWTI did not come up with it. And yes, for the first two years of being here, I posted many prepping ideas, but once you are prepped out, most just try to help others get up to speed. But since WWTI is so brilliant, walks on water, heals the sick, has all the answers to mankind, we should all bow down to his imagined GREATNESS….Now WWTI says the Sun is the master of the universe, what a dipshit. The Sun is just a star, burning out, in time will collapse, and the Earth will expire. We will expire. That is why I say there is a greater power controlling the entire universe. Our souls are worth something, YHWH says we were known to him before we were conceived. We have (soul wise) a place to reside forever. May GOD have mercy on your soul WWTI; it is the only thing that keeps on going forever.
I will say that MOST of WWTI’s posts are cut and paste also, and his rants are detrimental (by all the red thumbs) to this site. WWTI, I do not sit around all day waiting on a new post, but I do pick a joke and set it up as a word document with my input. You seem to have a problem with those who think ahead. By the way, he has stated he would kill off most of us as per his own post here, I hope it posts correctly.

Would anyone like to live next door to this ‘person’? And if you did, how would you treat him? Would you invite him over for dinner and drinks? Would you bring out a Bible and try to convert him? I really wonder why he is so negative toward any one who has a higher power to believe in, even though religion has warped this world. I, myself, am looking for the true truth, but coming here and trashing everyone for what HE thinks is the truth, well, that means if I put a piece of lead thru his cranium, God would NOT hold it against me by WWTI’s thinking. WWTI seems to love to bash me for jokes, but rarely says anything to anyone else. Please read his post above again, bad spelling and all, and wonder what his real problem is. WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR YOUR VIEW ON WHERE HUMANITY CAME FROM OR STARTED and not the sun is the master bullshit….
Now the old previously posted joke…
WhoWuddaThunkIt was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned to her and said, “Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.”
The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total stranger, “What would you want to talk about?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” said WWTI. “How about why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?” as he smiled smugly.
“Okay,” she said. “Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff – grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?”
WWTI, visibly surprised by the little girl’s intelligence, thinks about it and says, “Hmmm, I have no idea.” To which the little girl replies, “Do you really feel qualified to discuss God, Heaven and Hell, or life after death, when you don’t know shit?”
And then she went back to reading her book.

For a MAD MAX Bug Out Bag. How to pack for this.

      This will get really basic.
The best thing to do is get away from the biggest threat and that is the human element.

You may want several changes of clothes.
*Grey Man – Basic street clothes or sweat pants, tennis shoes.
*Tactical Clothes – All Black clothes for night time or Camo for hiding during the day to blend in with the woods. Always pack hiking boots, the heavier your bug out bag the taller your boot for ankle support. Last thing you want to do is twist an ankle due to a heavy bag.

Basics – Water- Sawyer Water filter $18 and a and 2+ liter camel back. Food, several MRE’s 3 Min and other rice n beans and power bars. Vitamins, salt tabs. Mt House min 5 packets

A small canteen cook set with a Trianga stove and or a wood fed stove to boil water and heat up canteen cup.

Tools- Multi- Tool, Fighting knive, fillet knife, spork, Snares 3 min, fishing kit, hammock to double as a fishing net.

Weapons, – Besides your knives listed above your primary handgun,9 mm at least 3 extended mags and several boxes of ammo. Battle rifle, at least 8 to 10 full 30 round magazines fully loaded. 12G shorty Mossberg 500 good defense also.

Shelter, camo tarp, 550 cord to run a ridge line and use your hammock under the tarp keep off the ground. Wool blanket, or snug sleeping bag in a plastic bag. Last thing you ever want to get wet is your sleeping bag.

Communication, cell phones, ham radios, basic weather AM-FM Radio.

Other items, Binoculars to look far in advance of your directional movement. Detailed paper maps of your entire county or all the way to your safe zone reflecting all back roads, trails, GPS, Solar charger, extra batteries. Eye protection Goggles clear dark for sun block. If you are lucky IR or Night vision, safer to travel at night. Ghilli suit to blend in with your surroundings. Out of sight, out of mind, out of trouble. Small shovel & 12 Sandbags, you can fill them up where you are, then empty them till you get to your next spot to bug in to. A fox hole with branches for concealment will save you over and over.

Prepare to fight ahead of time. Lessen the threat before it becomes a threat. Meaning, catch them in a surprise ambush instead of you. What makes me scratch my head was she allegedly was in full protective gear while working with Duncan. When I listened to the press conference this morning, a health care official was asked how can workers feel safe if this nurse got sick while wearing the gear. The response was “they” are confident that the safety gear works.

This all leads me to believe that the transmission of ebola is very suspect. The spread will continue. Watch dallas closely to see the response. This could be the model as to how other cases will be handled. I’ll tell you this much, if they quarantine Dallas in any way whatsoever, I’m betting there will be mass hysteria around the US.

      • PKLauLau says:

Night: She wasn’t even on the “watch” list for the other health care workers who were taking care of patient zero. How many days was she working with other patients, at home with family (does she have children in school), out shopping, grocery store handling stuff….before she got sick. I believe that you are infectious before you show symptoms…like every other virus.

Not to mention that they have closed the emergency room to new patients and have another quarantined already. WND has a good article on this.

        • Night Breaker says:

          Meathead ,

But it’s one hell of a hand gun , serious weapon for serious situations . Elmer Keiths masterpiece.

” I know what your thinking did he fire 6 shots or only five? Well to tell the truth, in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. I get a kick (no pun intended) out of watching those old Dirty Harry movies, especially the 1st one.
1971. Cars were bigger, gas was cheaper, and people could actually afford to live in California. And Clint Eastwood had some cool side burns in the 1st Dirty Harry movie.
And the S&W .44 magnum was the most powerful handgun on the planet. I heard decades ago that a .44mag round would penetrate a car’s engine block with it’s muzzle energy.
Now, Taurus has the Raging Bull in .454 Casull, S&W has a .460 and .500 magnum caliber pistol.
I’m not sure that I would want to shoot any of those hand held cannons; at least not on a regular basis.
In my opinion, .357s and 9mms are easier to handle.

  3. Mr Rodgers says:

Yes, the author notes that ‘Government dependency’ has become a staple of our current existence, and rightly so.

Some time ago I stumlbed across a view from a native American on the famine in Biafra; the one Bob Geldoff arranged the concert ‘We are the World’ for, Yes?

“Man will look on this (the Famaine) and blame Nature and not himself. These people once lived in harmony with Nature, within the confines of what the natural world could porovide them and measured thier happiness by the seasons and the children they had. Then Man came and taught them how to FARM and the size of their families increased until the land could no longer sustain them. There will be famines before and after this, but none shall ever capture the attention of the World such as this one. There IS a lesson to be learned from this…”

We live now outside the confines of what was intended, I think it shall not now be long until the “piper will be come a callin’…to PAID.”

Refering to outbreaks of Dengue Fever, which apparently is now affilcting Thailenad as well as Japan. Sheesh, Mother nature is PISSED…throwing everything in her repetiore at us. Additionally, there has been a CONFIRMED case of MARBURG in Nigeria. Oh Boyo Boy…THAT is REALLY ‘not good’.

        • sixpack says:

Maybe it’s NOT Mother Nature who is throwing everything available at us…Remember Ebola is PATENTED by the CDC, and don’t dismiss the idea that Marburg and Dengue Fever are not similarly “artificial”.

            Howdy sixpack,

Ummm…you DO have a point. However, per Michael Snyder’s blog, there are cuurrently a HORDE of pathogenic occurances happening right now, ALL-AT-ONCE, hence my comment.

I reallly beleive that some indefineable force of Nature periodically acts to mitigate Life on this sphere…and I am now wondering if THIS isn’t the lead-in for somesuch. We’ll see soon enough, I suppose. That single cae of Marburg – just identified – in Nigeria TERRIFIES me; that particular virus make Ebola look like ‘entertainment’….a near 95% mortality rate.

            • sixpack says:

You’re right Mr. R, it IS all happening at a most inopportune time, and I agree that some of this is more “natural”, but still planned for—or at least, taken advantage of.

Pretty much the same way looters and thieves take advantage of natural disasters to steal, rob and murder innocent people…the thieves may not have caused the tornado, but they sure did take advantage of the fact that people were vulnerable and exposed because of it.

              • Mr Rodgers says:

“…, and I agree that some of this is more “natural”, but still planned for—or at least, taken advantage of.”

                Howdy six!

At one point I used to beleive that the PTB were Omnescient and Omnipotent but time passed i actually began to think that there really is no ‘Great Consipracy’…not one structured and cooradinated by a any single group. Witnes that we can say some very things about the behaviour of a ‘gas of particles’… without EVER knowing what any individual particle is doing. Perhaps something similar ia occuring all around us that is actually the result – something of a ‘vector sum’ of of Greed, Stupidity, Short-sightedness and Self-Interest. I will be the firt to admit that the APPEARABCE is that some oberwheloming evil intelligence is strongly at work in the World, but we never can seem to ‘pin it down’ now can we? As well , waht if there are several such groups…all with conflicting motivations. Surely that might nearly explain the apparent arrogant stupidity of the Government and it’d minions.

That said, those that SUCCEED in the Wortld ‘as it is’ seem to be singularly possesed of an intrinsic, instinctual ‘opportunism’ that is very diiifcult for most ‘good folk’ to comprehend or understand on any level. Thereor “yes”, we AMy expect that those will take advantage at nearly EVERY turn…it’s thier NATURE, No?

I have – repeatedly – said here, before that we are dealing with ‘reptiles’ in dealing with some elements of the species. As for the rest here, take it as ‘open musing’ on ‘what is’: I am actually NOT sure WHICH case is the correct one anymore. Food for thought Friend…

    • Ricky says:

      That’s absurd!

What most preppers want is to be prepared in an SHTF.

There’s nothing worse than having no food, water and security….. and information too – so ensure you have a radio with batteries stored up.

      Take care:)

      • Warchild Dammit! says:

I will be more the happy to not have shtf scenario, would suit me just fine, just have some preps /plans if it does. The majority of preps get used anyhow i.e. food/tools including firearms/bows/fishing rods/camping gear so no loss investment there by any means, same with the clothing boots ect.I have some basic med supplies and a few emergency med items, hope I never need them, will be happy to have em collect dust.

      • the renegade braveheart says:

Ricky, allow me to expand on your tip and get a battery-powered shortwave radio with single-sideband [SSB] capability and of course a shitload of batteries. I have 2 Grundig SW radios with SSB capability stored away in a faraday cage [metal trash can from home depot for $25]. Radio Shack carries a few models for under $200. Or you can go to http://www.universal-radio.com. They carry a wide assortment of tabletop and portable radios to choose from. Prices will vary but I’ve had good service with them and no complaints about them. most of the smaller portables use AA batteries, BTW, so be sure to stock up on those.

        • Paranoid says:

One problem with that Brave, Once TSHTF I’m forced to admit I don’t care what anyone else is doing. I try to keep up now, just to figure out what the Nut cases are up to. Once it goes down, I just LOCK AND LOAD. Then they can worry about me.

          • Winston Smith says:

The problem is that if you are in a SHTF scenario, most of the time will be quite boring. If you are lucky it will always be boring. You’ll spend your days subsistence farming, hunting for small game (rats, cats and bats…yum!) and keeping your home in order. It likely won’t always be about fighting and if it is you probably won’t live that long. In any case, should you find yourself in such a situation or a long, slow collapse, you will want to know what is going on in the outside world. So, buy some kind of short wave radio. You can even get them for less than $10 on E-Bay. Put it in an ammo can lined with foam and you will have a cheap, EMP-proof way of getting information that will help you to assess your situation and adjust your actions accordingly.

            • grandee says:

              as Winston says:

drudgery and subsistance living will be the norm.

              unless your WELL stocked.

if not well stocked, plan on boredom being an enemy. bored people do stupid stuff.

            • Paranoid says:

First: If It’s very bad I don’t expect to survive very long. Unless family shows up, in need, there is no chance I’ll outlive my supples. Far more useful culling out some zombies to kelp the rest of the people. If they do, after I show them some stuff, no really good reason for an old guy to stick around just eating.
Second: As long as I have books, I have never been bored in my life. And I’ve got enough to read for close to forever.

          • the renegade braveheart says:

Paranoid, I understand where you’re coming from. I should’ve added in my previous post to have the SW radio for gathering information as it likely may be the ONLY SOURCE of information once the grid and internet are lost. If we’re hit by an EMP or solar flare, it’s a safe bet that our AM and FM stations will be out of service. That leaves shortwave radio as the only source of information left. Braveheart will also be maintaining a low profile and be locked and loaded, but he also believes it’s important to have SOMETHING for information gathering so he’ll know where he stands from that point on.

The radio I purchased last week was an FM and AM band radio. It cost £10 (about $16) but it’s all I can afford.

Radio Shack doesn’t exist in England.

When Ebloi took off in Africa, I would have stopped all flights from those areas, until I had a full proof method to deal with it. The toothpaste is already out of the tube. Watch, soon any place you go they will screen you like go to a shopping mall you get screened and tracked. This is madness.

  7. Barn Cat says:

The divorce rate in America was never as high as the article reports. According to an article in womenshealth dot org, the divorce rate is 30.8%. 72% of people are still married to their first spouse. The other 28% includes widows and widowers besides divorced people. The reported divorce rate of 50% was based an on extrapolation of increasing divorce rate numbers following the no-fault divorce laws of the 70s. And because opponents of marriage wanted people to think marriage is very risky despite the fact that the average cohabiting couple is together for only 2 or 3 years.

I don’t believe the crap about cycles that go on for thousands of years.

So the guy who made those pinpoint predictions goes out on a huge limb by saying a mad max event is POSSIBLE. No, a mad max is 100% likely. The only question is when.

    • Navy Vet says:

Possible? Yet he’s sure enough to put a date on it, 2015.75. For those that aren’t familiar with Armstrong’s work, he calculates dates as a percentage of 365. Thus, 273.75 days into 2015 or rounding up to 274, 01-OCT will be when things start their next downturn based on his models.

So, if he is to be believed we’ve got 355 days til TSHTF.

Based on what I’ve read of his work and his models, it’ll be 3.5 decades before things like the economy turn back positive.

Personally, I hope he’s wrong. However, based on his record of past predictions and his writings and analysis of historical cycles and doing additional research on my own to try to correlate what he writes about with known historical events, I think he’s on to something.

Just another reason, one of the many, why I prep.

      • Ricky says:

        Navy Vet

I hope you agree that despite the projections made by Armstrong above, it doesn’t mean that we can delay prepping until nearer the time.

Another SHTF scenario could happen prior to that.

        • Navy Vet says:

Ricky … Been at it for seven years now and am never done.

            Navy Vet

            That’s good to know!

I just hope others don’t think it’s okay to delay prepping – the day will one day arrive.

            • Navy Vet says:

Ricky … Where in any of my posts on this sub-thread did I advocate a delay in prepping until TSHTF actually arrives? Did I not write “…we’ve got 355 days til TSHTF”? Did I not also write “Just another reason, one of the many, why I prep”?

How does any of that translate to “it’s okay to delay prepping”?

              • Ricky says:

I’m not saying you’re advocating that people should delay prepping – I’m simply saying/suggesting that some people may think it is!

I replied to your comment before reading the last paragraph so, because I didn’t acknowledge this doesn’t mean I don’t know you do prep. I should’ve read your comment before replying so sorry about the confusion.

                Take care:)

      @Mountain trekker
Modern farming is dependency based and factory driven. Meant for large scale and labor intensive via modern equipment and high tech. Aint going to last long.
Go simpler. Grow your food, grow your manure, save your seeds. Keep the resources small.

Might be easiest if we start thinking of ourselves as being more primitive. We need to see ourselves as home growers w/ a subsistence lifestyle. The more we simplify the easier to get rid of things not really needed. The simpler we get now the easier to handle big shtf problems. Remember to duck when the S hits and until then practice runs and drills, eat what you grow and store, dont just prep, live it. The survivors will return to simpler ways and hunter/gather lifestyles.

Little Johnny raised his hand. The teacher hesitated because she had been burned by Little Johnny before.

She finally decided there was no way he could damage the word ‘fascinate’, so she called on him.

              Good Evening Everyone,

On the seismic note, there is continued activity on the Antarctic/South American rise which is proximally , identifiably, the result of aftershocks. That said, a new region has begun manifesting activity, one which I BELIVE merits some concern. Previously, BI (our EXPERT-in-Residence) made mention of a particualr area that was of concern to him relative to the New Madrid fault zone, that being that section of the Atlantic Ridge which lies just along a East/West line drawn beteween the UK and Labrador (if memory serves me here).

We are all aware – at this point – that Bardabunga has been active continuously for several weeks now and as such I think we are now about to see the broader result of that stress/strain manifesting itself in the plate tectonics all around that point…and more broadly as well. IF anyone here can directly remember EXACTLY WHAT BI said with respect to THAT region (I do not have the bandwidth to dig through the archives here!) I would be pleased to see it posted here. Thanks apriori!

The Solar thing is -IMHO – proceeding to ‘End of cycle’ directly at this time; all current indications therefrom are consistent with that assesment. However, I will caution everyone here that THAT assesment appiles IF and ONLY IF we do not hereafter see any extremely energetic GRB (Gamma Ray Burst) activity. As I have mentioned here before – and quite outside the current purvue of formal Science – THOSE clearly seem to upset the Solar balance rather directly and immediately. As well, we usually have apparent effects on the siesmic activity we witness here, additionally.

While I’m here i would like to bring up something else. What here follows is the precursor to something I wish to place out ‘in the open’ at a slightly later point…in sum, it is too much to put forth in one sitting/one read. That said, here goes,

Were it the case that any significant nuclear exchange occured between the superpowers (multiple thousand Strategic Nuclear devices exchanged) OR any ultra-high magnitude ‘extra-Solar’ event lead to the dellivery of extreme amounts of high energy X-ray and/or Gamma radiation impinging on the upper atmospehere we would definitely see – thereafter – the onset of the classic ‘Nuclear Winter’ long postualted as a resultant therefrom.

Following any such event, global temperatures would drop significantly (several degree’s celcius). Initally, that drop would not seem to be extraordinary…but it would get slowly worse as time passed. Most plant life would be affected (crops especially!)….but that is far from being all that would happen, unfortunately.

The incidence of extraordinary amounts of energy in those spectra on the highest reaches of the atmosphere would nearly instantly damage the ozone layer long-term, thus allowing for excess amounts of “hard UV” (UV-B) to reach the terrestrial surface for a a period of some few years thereafter(perhaps a decade). Animal life would be severely impacted, though on balance the plant life here likely would not be adversely affected by that environment. However, there is another physical phenomena which would occur concurrently during anysuch event whose effects would be far more serious…. and extremely so.

Specifically, such an event would act to produce immense quantities of NOX (compounds of nitrogen)) which thereafter would percolate through rain to ground level as a ‘Nitric acid soup’. I’m sure that everyone here is passably familiar with ‘Acid Rain’ as the media has portrayed that over the last several years, Yes? This event would be FAR worse than anything we have previously aeen in that venue; most of the acid rain previously studied came as a consequence of compounds of Sulphur. OTOH, Nitric acid is uniquely competent – and desturctive – to disrupt the chemistry of carbon-based life. Pointedly, THAT is HOW your own immune system actually detroys foregn matter/invaders within your body; Nitric oxide (radical, NOT Nitrous oxide!…ie, ‘laughing gas’) is secreted by your immune cells when they adhere to the surface of anything foreign and sunsequently ruptures most any chemical bond (there are exceptions, Asbestos, for example) it comes into contact with.

There MAY have been – at least ONE – incident where this occured in the far past. Some half-billion years ago there occured the ‘Silurian-Ordovician Extinction’, during which almost all land-based (and most shallow-dwelling marine) life was summarily extinguished in the ‘blink of an eye’, geologically speaking. Some here are familair with the ‘trilobytes’ of that age…yes? THAT was the extinction which I here mention.

It is thought that one poossible explanation for this event lies in the astronomical sphere…definitely ‘extra-Solar’. Specifically, were it the case that a “Hyper-Nova” were to occur anywhere within – say roughly – 8-10 thouand light-years of Earth then the resultant wave of ultra-high energy particles (photons) striking the upper atmosphere would likely be near or beyond ELE-levels. To this day we cannot identify WHERE the possible origin of that lay. There has lately come new knowledge of HOW ‘Hyper-Nova’s’ occur and what is now known is that those are capable of emitting – truly – incomprehensible amounts of energy (at the instant that they manifest) in two extremely narrow, coherent ‘beams’ extending outward from the stellar rotation axis’s. In that case those might WELL be able to ‘reach out’ VAST distances…many ten’s of thousands of light years…or more, to sterilize life on a living planet.

Before closing here for the night, allow me to give you a bit of context here by which to assess what is involved in such an event. Our sun -Sol – is a main sequence, relatively small star – as such go. From when it began first ‘burning’ some 4 Billion years ago, it will YET burn another 6 Billion years before expending it’s complement of nuclear fuel, settling down at the end to become a ‘White dwarf’ after previously having become a ‘Red Giant’ temporariliy some few Billion years hence. ALL the energy emitted by our sun, in it’s ENTIRE 10 Billion year life-span would be emitted by a single ‘Hyper-Nova’…in only a matter of HOURS, Dwell on that for a bit…more to follow later, and ‘Yes’ I AM worried about this…

                Howdy Guys (and Gals),

The comment blocka below are ‘greyed’, so here I will repond…

Firstly, THANK YOU GOPHER! My net access exist, but is radically slower than what once I had. Truth be told it is often difficult to even acces the site adequately (at speed). Hmmm, I will have to think on that info for a bit….I’ll get back with everyone a bit later on that.

                @ Night Breaker,

                Howdy Friend,

Your surmise is eerily ‘accurate’…look up the ‘La Plata Observatory’ in South America, go there. READ the first line in the site log, then scroll down to the bottom of the page and LOOK at the most recent updates to the measured magnitude (visual/visible mag): the graph there..

In the 1800’s EC evinced an odd behaviour, one we knmow little about, specifically it duplicated a ‘Super-Nova imposter’ event. We KNOW of only one other such…and in relatibely short time thereafter it detonated in FULL. At Wiki look up LBV, ‘”Super Nova Imposter’ and look up Eta Carinae as well (for it’s specifics). Pay close attention to the declination (that is measured from the Solar baseline,ie, the plane of the ecliptic) that would anihilate the SOUTHERN Hemisphere were it to occur; think here an exposure of 5-11 thousand RAD at ground level…BUT as it is nearly ‘axial’ (mostly) that would not be the total destructionm, ie, an ELE as would occur if that were at a much smaller inclination/declination. I WILL post through on this as I can collate and assemble an acceptably cogent missive.

I am somewhat amazed that you intuited the auroral manifestation that would follow-on; GOOD THinking. Now, want to hear something REALLY “eery”? Look up ‘Stalking Wolf’s Prophecy’ online….how the HELL does an early 20th century Shaman EXACTLY describe what would happen if a H-N occured, specifically, the third component of that, the ‘Night of the Bleeding Stars; THAT is what is making the hair ‘stand up on my neck’ lately as lately it has been determined – exactly – WHY ‘RED Aurora’s occur. More to follow on that as well…later. Lastly, here, READ the entire piece by Stalking Wolf, specifically I am refering to the ‘Children of the Earth”, and what he SAYS about those.

                Adios Muchacho! Andele, ANDELE!!!!

              • Hello Mr Rodgers…

“It is thought that one poossible explanation for this event lies in the astronomical sphere…definitely ‘extra-Solar’. In that case those might WELL be able to ‘reach out’ VAST distances…many ten’s of thousands of light years…or more, to sterilize life on a living planet.”

Does this paragraph refer to Eta Carinae?

                Thank you

              • Sorry Mr. Rodgers-you answered my question in another post!

. What I am watching for the New Madrid is for a large amount of movement on the Mid Atlantic Ridge between 14 and 20 degrees north, AND/OR some large earthquake down on the Caribbean plate like Venezuela was hit by a 8+ back in 1812. Central San Andreas was also hit in 1812. These are not coincidences, they are interlinked

Public Health Emergency Declared In Connecticut Over Ebola: Civil Rights Suspended Indefinitely
    (from ZeroHedge site)

We warned a week ago of the various possibilities surrounding an Ebola outbreak in America, and today we get some degree of confirmation of a medical-based martial-law coming to the US. Governor Dan Malloy has declared a Public Health Emergency in Connecticut, authorizing the “isolation of any individual reasonably believed to have been exposed to the Ebola virus.”

Simply put, as we noted previously, the State of Public Health Emergency allows bureaucrats to detain and force-vaccinate people without due process – despite not one single case being found in CT. If there is a major Ebola pandemic in America, all of the liberties and the freedoms that you currently enjoy would be gone. The state of public health emergency will remain in effect indefinitely until lifted by the governor.

In a Mad Max Scenario which is better?

    Thumbs up: AR15

    Thumbs DownL AK47

    • WhoWuddaThunkIt says:

AR-15 Positives-American – more accurate, lighter ammo and bullet can travel farther, better weapons sights and rails – Negatives- More cleaning.

AK47 – Positives: Cheaper Ammo, work horse, not much cleaning- Negatives: Less accurate, heavier Ammo, Un-American.

      • Warchild Dammit! says:

Who,how is the AK un American?Plenty made right here in America,as for rails ect.you can mod out the AK any way you want or leave it as a wooden stocked warhorse, have em both, love em both.

      • Mieszko I says:

Really ?? You’re going to judge a weapon’s quality, on whether its American or not ? Sounds pretty childish to me.

      • Paranoid says:

Depends on ammo supply, more than gun. Without ammo the AK is a better club. Both waste ammo and are less dangerous than one guy with a good single shot rifle that just wants you dead. My dad was a weapons instructor during WWII. He commented, that in a city or US woodland give him a 100 good men with “O6 or M1 against a 100 with M-16 and he’d have 97 guys with both shortly.

      • Winston Smith says:

It’s a gun. Guns are machines and as such have no soul and no ideology. Thus, an AK has the ideology of the individual that wields it. If you have one, then it is as American as you are. Private gun ownership is a distinctly American thing and as such owning an AK makes you very American culturally. As to which I prefer, it depends on the situation and which has an advantage. Not knowing what I am to face ahead of time I would take the AK because of it’s simplicity and ability to deal with little to no maintenance better than an AR. However, if I were facing government forces then the AR would be better because of the probability of finding ammo. Then again, in that scenario you can always use your AK to get an AR by relieving it’s former user of his/her life and gun. (I am not condoning killing here, just stating the obvious.)

As for me, well, I am of Russian ancestry so you can kinda guess what I favor. Anyone got an old shovel? I think I need to make a new receiver…

      • PO'd Patriot says:

I’m pretty much torn on which I like better. I prefer 30 cal anyway. Mission drives equipment. There is no jack of all trades gun. Some will come closer than others but still not quite there.

        • the renegade braveheart says:

PO’d Patriot, do you mean .30 Carbine? If so, I have a M1 Carbine. Sweet shooting weapon and doesn’t need near as much maintenance as an AR. if Ars had been built the same as AKs I would’ve bought one way back when, but I’ll stick with my M1 Carbine.

          • Old guy says:

Ive owned a couple Mi 30 cal carbines. Sold them to collectors. those 30 cal would easily stop a Jap in their tracks. However a german hopped up on meth would keep on coming. so they went to the M1 Garand 30.06 in the European theatre.

      • WhoWuddaThunkIt says:

I would also add that an AK47 is cheaper to buy than an AR-15. I think I have the best of both worlds, the Swiss designed the Sig Sauer 5.56 SWAT model, full gas piston like an AK, but the caliber of a AR 5.56 1:7 Twist, and uses standard AR15 Magazines. Folding stock. Its heavier than the regular AR, but a heavy duty work horse, very accurate, adjustable gas tube pressure switch to over ride dirt and grime to keep on shooting. Eats Any Ammo like maggots on dead flesh. Sig also makes a similar .308 -on my wish list.

    • Stewpedaso says:

I have a Man Kung 150 lbs draw very basic crossbow, put a bolt straight through a deer with it at 20 yards. Takes a 16 inch bolt and if you can find hard wood you can make some very heavy duty bolts from it. Got it cheap too.

    • WARFACE says:

I’d take an AK over an AR in a SHTF scenario. An AK is not as accurate as an AR but its way more reliable and can take a Hell of alot more punishment. • the renegade braveheart says:

Warface, when the balloon goes up and UN troops start appearing on the streets, it’s a safe bet that a HUGE percentage of those foreigners will be equipped with AKs. once the hot lead starts flying there will be weapons, ammo and other gear laying around for the taking. I’ll grab an AK and all the extra mags, ammo, etc. that I can carry. The AK can be taken through sand, mud, and water and STILL fire.

        • WhoWuddaThunkIt says:

Renegade, No doubt in SHTF there will be plenty AK’s on the streets free for the taking, from those who will no longer need them. lol If you want them bad enough.

          • WhoWuddaThunkIt says:

I will also add for Home defense, like for a bed side gun, is to have “a gun length shorter than your bedroom hallway is wide. You don’t want some long shotgun that you can’t turn around with in a narrow hallway. Thus look into the Pistol Grip Mossberg 500. Short and sweet and still packs the shotgun blast. There are shotgun rifle slugs that pack 2000 Ft per second, vs a 900 to 1100 ft per second for a .45 Cal round. A 9mm is about 1300 Fps.

Anybody who thinks their 4-1/2 ft long Mossen Nagant for a bedside gun is practical is Nuts. Try turning around in your hallway with that rifle. lol

            • Warchild Dammit! says:

Mosin practical for in home, perhaps not. That said, all you have, tis priceless!

On a side note,my buddy found in garage of a job and allowed to have a 1940 Terni rifle,6.5X52,exact same style rifle that killed JFK.Has a weird built in box magazine that holds a magazine that is open excepting sides and ends. The numbers including stock all seem to match and on first visual inspection looks good, had no magazines but many available for about 10 a piece, ammo, have yet to look into that, still,a interesting find.

            • Old guy says:

In close range there is nothing more devastating than a 12 guage loaded with buckshot. However that 7.62×54 with steel ammo will penetrate any body armor. shoot through a car. bring down a helicopter ect. its a good long range gun. I have both a Mossberg 12 guage and a 54. also carry a 44 Blackhawk. Everything I own is a wheel gun pump lever action or bolt action. I don’t want any ammo wasting semi auto.

Given that I was a weapons instructor in the infantry (Army), I prefer the AR-15/ M-16. Muscle memory would just work for me in a stressful situation. I do concede, however, that AK’s are the more reliable in terms of extremely bad conditions. It’s also better to give to inexperienced troops who are either guerrillas or swarming motorized infantry,

      • Night Breaker says:

        Overwatch ,
What’s your opinion on the M1A and PTR91 ( HK91/G3 clone) as a battle rifle with a little more reach than the 5.56 platform. I am familiar with the M16 A2 ( with ACOG) was trained on one in the service ( USMC) and for CQB and Stress shooting I agree muscle memory has the edge they (m16 platform ) become almost an extension of oneself. Personally I feel with 62 grain penetrator rounds they can get hits at least out to 500 yards maximum 90% of the time ( I’ve done it on the square range in combat not so much ) . 7.62×51 has greater penetrating power and greater reach ( non MOUT AO use) ) . works better on vehicles , used a M40 A1 with an Unertl 10x mildot scope in my later carrier .
Guess its down to,your AO what you prefer as your main battle rifle ( MBR)

NB, I do like the 7.62x 51 NATO in either of those rifles. Here in Mass., distance isn’t much of a concern, although heft matters in any infantry situation. Have you considered the regular old FN SLR? The Brits loved them, they’re relatively light, fared well in N. Ireland and the Falklands. Ammo compatibility is huge factor to consider which also steers me to AR series. All that said, aren’t M1 a’s just the coolest friggin things? That’s gotta mean something .

    Orlov on EBOLA

Ebola and the Five Stages of Collapse

    http://peakoil.com/generalideas/ebola-and-the-five-stages-of-collapse

    presents a very dire forecast
one that personally speaking,I find unlikely

we can still stamp this disease out if we get our act together

    • dontbeanidiot says:

It seems the R factor for ebola is low; so growth is a slow exponential. Maybe more like geometric. Take R=1.2 and take mortality=0.5 (in a normal, good health-care society). So, patient Zero (or “Z”) infects 1.1 other persons. Of the total of 2 people, 0.5 die. When would it go from 1.1 to 1M? Assuming a 14 day delay for virus incubation, solve for Time. 1.1^N=1,000,000. You can do your own math. Clearly its >1 since it is growing (not staying at 1). Here’s a quick chart for number infected after a year for given delays in Days before being contagious. Looks to me like with 14 days the its probably around 1.4.
      Days\R 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5
      7 144 13,450 873,639 41,642, 1,520,202,229
      14 12 116 935 6,453 38,990
      21 5 24 96 347 1,150
      28 3 11 31 80 197
Taking this out from jan 2014 with the 1.4 and 21 days numbers we get:
      jan’15 6,453
      jan’16 41,642,164
      jan’17 268,719,964,466
So, given positive growth rate, the ebola cat is out of the bag. The only questions are if the spread rate can be reduced. Not likely given recent history. Other question is when it will hit your neighborhood. Given this R factor, one would think you have about a year. But, would like to hear the CDC or others come out with the real R factor for us.

      • Paranoid says:

I wish I had better data. But it looks to me as if yours is rather conservative. Data I have read indicates infection rate of 2 or more and an increase of approximately 3.9%/day. Which gives a double every +=20 days. With 20-50,000 infected now, in very short order it’s over in those little countries that now have it. So it either spreads or it’s gone in 6-9 months. Any data from Nigeria? That’s key because they have a large population and contact with India. IndoChina gets it, I hope god will help us. Comments?

I visit SHTF at least once a day. I have only commented once recently but have found a wealth of information here as opposed to other sites that spew ridiculousness that defeats the informative reason for the blog in the first place.
There was a comment to us “newbies” about not paying attention to the back and forth between the old guard here. That you have already hashed all of this out and are essentially using this as a social network. I get that. I usually scroll through the back and forth but I DO read through until the end; because like right now, there may be someone just newly writing in asking for advice. These are the best posts because you all are seasoned and have such good ideas.
I do think many of we lurkers are afraid to post; whether it is logical or not. All of your OPSEC warnings, deliberate misspellings, etc. are a bit worrisome. We get the wariness but that is at least the reason I have not posted before.
I also think I have reasonably thick skin to post here (as another person stated). I do want to be prepared and this is the site I start at and then click the convenient links. THANKS!

      @Gunnars Mom,

Great preps. Fantastic choice on the water collection system. Sustainable water is a must first prep. It only takes a pile of medical waste dropped in front of reservoir intake pipes to disable an entire public water supply.

Check your town / state ordinances. Water collection might be illegal; especially out west. You might have to camouflage.

      Again total admiration and welcome.

          GM;
I wished there were more people out there were like you, willing to learn NEW things to make life easier in an downturn situation. Been prepping since 96, still adding stuff. Think in the ‘camping’ mode, and all the things you would need to do ‘Hilton’ camping. Even if we never use it per SHTF extreme, your offspring will always be set up for camping…
And youngsters love camping, thus a bonding setup…

          • Gunnar's mom says:

I am replying here because, well you are Eppe. I just don’t get what is going on. I went to college. Then went back after my kids were older to get my teaching degree. I studied history(lucrative career choice there) Anyway… I read all the non-fiction, fiction, etc. but I honestly believed that the US is inherently GOOD. Lots of mistakes, whatever. I am completely disgusted at my country. My children, who I raised to be knowledgeable about the world, are completely against all government. I argue but maybe they are right. Maybe the ones in office are maybe(definitely)corrupt. I have read the D’souza books and many others to maybe find a way. Sometimes I think that DK is shouting this but everyone here has given up. Do I give up and hunker down? Or can we turn this around? Why isn’t Congress saying Screw this? Sorry,I usually copy and paste for a better “essay” but I am really upset here.

            • eppe says:

GM; None of us know what is REALLY going on, we can just do what we need to do. Prepping for the worst is a way to set us up to survive what COULD happen, and I have to say you are far above the rest in getting prepared. I am no one special, just been doing it for a loooong time. When I said to think of it as camping long term, well if the SHTF happens, if you have camping supplies, you can camp in your own home, no electricty, heating, food storage, water filtration and storage, and can come out in the end unscathed with WHAT could happen. I like to think the best of most, but there are many out there who will try to take what you have to survive. Just watch out for those people who want to do so. You are a very smart person who wants to protect what you have, I have done so also. I admire a person who has taken the precautions to be set up for the worst. With that said, just keep reading, acting, and storing up things you could need in case it actually happens. We do not know what the future brings, but we can have insurance to last as long as we can in a downturn situation. We insure homes, car, and health, why would anyone not want to insure food, security, health, and well being? Please do not be upset, it is unsettling to see people in a crazy mood which leads to unrational actions. You have done the right things to be ahead of the crowd. Again, I AM NO ONE SPECIAL, JUST AHEAD OF THE PACK. And I plan to be a leader of the pack if it all falls down, which may take a while. You are one smart lady to take the move to go where you going, and I admire what you are doing. Take care in what you do, think long term, and you will come out sucessful in the end, and if nothing bad happens, well you can go camping with your grandkids and have a great time…. Maybe we will meet up in the future, who knows, wish I had a crystal ball that tells the future, wow, what could be done….

The Goldberg Brothers – The Inventors of the Automobile Air Conditioner

Here’s a little factoid for automotive buffs or just to dazzle your friends.

The four Goldberg brothers, Lowell, Norman, Hiram, and Max invented and
developed the first automobile air-conditioner. On July 17, 1946, the
temperature in Detroit was 97 degrees.

The four brothers walked into old man Henry Ford’s office and sweet-talked
his secretary into telling him that four gentlemen were there with the most
exciting innovation in the auto industry since the electric starter.

Henry was curious and invited them into his office. They refused and instead
asked that he come out to the parking lot to their car.

They persuaded him to get into the car, which was about 130 degrees, turned
on the air conditioner, and cooled the car off immediately.

The old man got very excited and invited them back to the office, where he
offered them $3 million for the patent.

The brothers refused, saying they would settle for $2 million, but they
wanted the recognition by having a label, ‘The Goldberg Air-Conditioner,’ on
the dashboard of each car in which it was installed.

Now old man Ford was more than just a little anti-Semitic, and there was no
way he was going to put the Goldberg’s name on two million Fords.

They haggled back and forth for about two hours and finally agreed on $4
million and that just their first names would be shown. . and so to this
day, all Ford air conditioners show — Lo, Norm, Hi, and Max — on the
    controls.

I can hear your groans from here. Control yourself!

I was at KFC Sunday with my cousin Bubba. He was dressed out in his Sunday best: new bib overalls, clean t shirt.
Across the restaurant a lady suddenly jumped up from her table, hand on her throat, obviously choking.
Bubba sprang into action. He ran across the dining room,
bent the woman over the table, flipped her skirt up over her back, pulled her underwear down to her knees, then he dropped down and ran his tongue right up her butt crack. When he did that, the woman blew a chunk of chicken all the way across the KFC.
Bubba turned to me with a big grin and said: “Proves I told you Bonehead, That hind lick maneuver works every time.”

    An elderly gentleman….
Had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%
The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, ‘Your hearing is perfect… Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again.’
The gentleman replied, ‘Oh, I haven’t told my family yet.
I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I’ve changed my will three times!’

Two elderly gentlemen from a retirement center were sitting on a bench under a tree when one turns to the other and says: ‘Slim, I’m 83 years old now and I’m just full of aches and pains. I know you’re about my age. How do you feel?’
Slim says, ‘I feel just like a newborn baby.’
    ‘Really!? Like a newborn baby!?’
‘Yep. No hair, no teeth, and I think I just wet my pants.’

An elderly couple had dinner at another couple’s house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen.
The two gentlemen were talking, and one said, ‘Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great.. I would recommend it very highly.’
The other man said, ‘What is the name of the restaurant?’
The first man thought and thought and finally said, ‘What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love?
You know…. The one that’s red and has thorns.’
    ‘Do you mean a rose?’
‘Yes, that’s the one,’ replied the man. He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled, ‘Rose, what’s the name of that restaurant we went to last night?’

Hospital regulations require a wheel chair for patients being discharged. However, while working as a student nurse, I found one elderly gentleman already dressed and sitting on the bed with a suitcase at his feet, who insisted he didn’t need my help to leave the hospital.
After a chat about rules being rules, he reluctantly let me wheel him to the elevator.
On the way down I asked him if his wife was meeting him.
‘I don’t know,’ he said. ‘She’s still upstairs in the bathroom changing out of her hospital gown.’

Couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things. During a checkup, the doctor tells them that they’re physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember …
Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair. ‘Want anything while I’m in the kitchen?’ he asks.
‘Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?’
    ‘Sure..’
‘Don’t you think you should write it down so you can remember it?’ she asks.
    ‘No, I can remember it.’
‘Well, I’d like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so as not to forget it?’
He says, ‘I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.’
‘I’d also like whipped cream. I’m certain you’ll forget that, write it down?’ she asks.
Irritated, he says, ‘I don’t need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream – I got it, for goodness sake!’
Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, The old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs.. She stares at the plate for a moment.
    ‘Where’s my toast?’

A senior citizen said to his eighty-year old buddy:
‘So I hear you’re getting married?’
    ‘Yep!’
    ‘Do I know her?’
    ‘Nope!’
‘This woman, is she good looking?’
    ‘Not really.’
    ‘Is she a good cook?’
‘Naw, she can’t cook too well.’
‘Does she have lots of money?’
‘Nope! Poor as a church mouse.’
‘Well, then, is she good in bed?’
    ‘I don’t know.’
‘Why in the world do you want to marry her then?’
    ‘Because she can still drive!’

Three old guys are out walking.
First one says, ‘Windy, isn’t it?’
Second one says, ‘No, it’s Thursday!’
Third one says, ‘So am I. Let’s go get a beer..’

A man was telling his neighbor, ‘I just bought a new hearing aid. It cost me four thousand dollars, but it’s state of the art.. It’s perfect.’
‘Really,’ answered the neighbor . ‘What kind is it?’
    ‘Twelve thirty..’

Morris, an 82 year-old man, went to the doctor to get a physical.
A few days later, the doctor saw Morris walking down the street with a gorgeous young woman on his arm.
A couple of days later, the doctor spoke to Morris and said, ‘You’re really doing great, aren’t you?’
Morris replied, ‘Just doing what you said, Doc: ‘Get a hot mamma and be cheerful.”
The doctor said, ‘I didn’t say that… I said, ‘You’ve got a heart murmur; be careful.’

    One more. . .!
A little old man shuffled slowly into an ice cream parlor and pulled himself slowly, painfully, up onto a stool.. After catching his breath, he ordered a banana split.
The waitress asked kindly, ‘Crushed nuts?’
    ‘No,’ he replied, ‘Arthritis.’

death is a tool that should not be used lightly, as you kill a life you kill a piece of you each time.

I think a persons mental stability will be strained & tested to a degree they cant imagine. Having some booze or pot might be good. any distractions like games ect could be helpful. Those who can be laid back take everything in stride and still make reasonable rational decisions when under tremendously stressful conditions will have a advantage. It might be helpful to take a good look at your preps & plan and ask a lot of what if,s? My wife is very good at asking me what ifs. I was happily putting all of the hay in the barn & fixing places for the livestock to shelter. She asked what if the barn was destroyed by fire or a tornado ect. so we put some hay in the front part of a old school bus. the goats and milk cow could take shelter in the back half if something happened to the barn. I think the saying is don’t put all of your eggs in one basket. Every time I go to the feed store I pick up a 50 pound bag of salt. it might be needed to preserve meat. also it never goes bad.

I bought some regular shoat,s about 80 pounds. the shoats got colera and died and the potbelly pigs never even got sick. The reason Im stocking up on salt is that if the power goes down . it would be necessary to salt cure & smoke all of our meat. Im stocking up on things we cant produce ourselves. things like shampoo medicine chocolate ect. We have a big ole cast iron bathtub outside with a little wood stove under it. I call it a hillbilly redneck hot tub. It could be the difference in mental stability to be able to luxuriate in a hot bath. and could be used to wash clothes. A hot bath and clean clothes are something to prep for.

  48. Warchild Dammit! says:

    OK,this was pretty funny,sorry ladies!:

I was riding to work yesterday when I observed a female driver, who cut right in front of a pickup truck, causing the driver to drive onto the shoulder to avoid hitting her. This evidently angered the driver enough that he hung his arm out his window and gave the woman the finger.

‘Man, that guy is stupid,’ I thought to myself. I ALWAYS smile nicely and wave in a sheepish manner whenever a female does anything to me in traffic, and here’s why:

I drive 48 miles each way every day to work.

    That’s 96 miles each day.

Of these, 16 miles each way is bumper-to-bumper

Most of the bumper-to-bumper is on an 8 lane highway.

There are 7 cars every 40 feet for 32 miles.

That works out to 982 cars every mile, or 31,424 cars.

Even though the rest of the 32 miles is not bumper-to-bumper, I figure I pass at least another 4000 cars.

That brings the number to something like 36,000 cars that I pass every day.

Statistically, females drive half of these.

    That’s 18,000 women drivers!

In any given group of females, 1 in 28 has PMS.

    That’s 642.

According to Cosmopolitan, 70% describe their love life as dissatisfying or unrewarding.

    That’s 449.

According to the National Institute of Health, 22% of all females have seriously considered suicide or homicide.

    That’s 98.

And 34% describe men as their biggest problem.

    That’s 33.

According to the National Rifle Association, 5% of all females carry weapons and this number is increasing especially in California ..

That means that EVERY SINGLE DAY, I drive past at least one female that has a lousy love life, thinks men are her biggest problem, has seriously considered
suicide or homicide, has PMS, and is armed.

    Give her the finger?

    I don’t think so.

FEMA claims the authority to control all news and info during any crisis. I don’t think they are being honest with us about Ebola. Why would they be? Keep your odds of getting Ebola low, until you’re sure there is no epidemic here. Don’t eat at fast food joints. Don’t fly on commercial flights. Avoid areas with African residents. Avoid church groups and social groups that travel back and forth to west Africa. Use your imagination. Wash your hands frequently. Keep bleach and rubbing alcohol nearby. Since the government will let in high risk groups without quarentine, you must segregate yourself and your family for your own protection.

  54. Once again you said something I agree with. prepping is about doing the responsible thing tyhat makes sense – not the popular thing, or the easy thing – and certainly not the Hollywood thing. I don’t care if people think all my diy projects are stupid or they think i’m dumb for putting resources aside for bad times – what is important is that my family is protected. (and my wife is much younger than I am – and I married her for many more reasons than JUST love.)

  55. I COPY, YOU DECIDE:
We recently received the following email from John DiNardo who has requested that it be published in full. The email contains information gleened from a special-ops source within the United States military who warns that the Ebola vaccine is most likely the trigger for the coming Ebola plague. Videos below include the 3rd one from KafkaWinstonWorld called “US MILITARY IN EBOLA HOT ZONE; ISRAELI MILITARY NOT GOING; ENTIRE COUNTRIES MAY BE VACCINATED!”.

I received the following information from an ex-military guy whom I have known for about eight years. He served in special operations. I’m recalling some of the many things he said.

He suspects that the 1,600 US Army troops who were recently sent to Africa to contend with the Ebola threat are to be exposed to this Ebola virus (which is not the true Zaire Ebola, but a man-made variant; you’ll find out why in a moment), and that these troops will be injected with the new Ebola vaccine, which will subdue that specific virus. However, recalling his victimization as a virus vector in the Army, he suspects that the anti-Ebola vaccine will be given to these US soldiers in Africa, and — just as they did to him — this vaccine will also contain a “trigger” element. These soldiers, who have unwittingly been made virus vectors, will then come home to the United States, and many of them will be discharged; thusly, they will be dispersed to all areas of the United States. This man told me that when these vector soldiers come home to the United States, pathogens will later be released into the atmosphere, perhaps in chemtrails and/or in ground releases, such as in the subway systems of major cities. The latter plot has already been perpetrated in the New York City subway system when they released the serratia marcescens bacteria, which was encapsulated in light bulbs and tossed into the subways. This diabolical plot is documented in the book, CLOUDS OF SECRECY, by Prof. Leonard Cole of Rutgers University. My ex-military friend told me that the trigger element planted in the U.S. soldiers’ ebola vaccinations in Africa will then “recombine” in their bodies with the pathogen that is to be released throughout the United States. The product of this recombination of the pathogen, to be released, and the trigger element that was earlier injected into these 1,600 vector soldiers . . . the product will be a deadly biological weapon< of mass extermination, calculated and designed to go airborne and thus, to be highly contagious. Remember the BATMAN comic book series of 1996, foretelling, in a symbolic story line, this diabolical plot for mass extermination of the American population. You see, the flu vaccine contains the trigger element which, when injected into thousands of victimized vectors, will recombine within the bodies of some of these vectors to make the lethal-but-non-contagious virus (to be released) become an airborne mutant of that virus. My contact also believes that the recent ushering in of thousands of children from Central America across the Texas border near San Antonio is a part of this very same plot that is being perpetrated against our 1,600 U.S. soldiers . . . and I suspect that the ushering in of thousands of illegal Mexicans across the border is likewise another part of this very same diabolical plot of mass extermination of the American population. In fact, infowars.com reporters have confirmed that the Centers for Disease Control is spearheading an unprecedented roundup of illegal Mexicans, who are exhibiting flu-like symptoms. Infowars.com is asking a vital question: Where are the CDC’s disease agents taking all of these illegal, apparently diseased Mexicans? My ex-military, special operations, vaccine-victimized contact told me that he has learned that those thousands of Central American children are being housed at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, near the Texas border. He believes that these children are likewise being infected and injected with the trigger element, as part of this diabolical plot to exterminate the American population. The sick Mexicans, who today are being rounded up and sequestered by the CDC, are probably also being brought to Lackland Air Force Base. And Lackland or some similar place is where all the ill Mexicans are probably being sequestered for vaccination with the trigger element that will later make their disease go lethally airborne. And so, we begin to realize that this vaccination victimization of our soldiers in Africa is for the very same purpose as that of ushering many thousands of illegal Mexicans across the Texas and Arizona borders, and as that of ushering in many thousands of Central American children across our borders. We have yet more indications that this diabolical American genocide plot — indeed, this global humanicide plot — is now underway. BeforeItsNews.com has recently broken the story of a disease epidemic at Lackland Air Force Base — an epidemic that is now kept under a veil of tight secrecy, enforced by ominous threats against the insiders at Lackland. And we have reports that people fleeing Africa are being given easy entry into the United States. More desired fuel to feed the fires of contagion! My contact tells me that airports in twenty-four more U.S. cities have just been added as welcome centers for passengers

    Good Morning Everyone,

Last night we had magnitude 6+ activity along the ocean bed, to the east of Japan off it’s coast roughly at the latitude which places it ‘between’ the Main Island and the Northern. There have veen several afterhocks ofg fairly high magnitude since that occured. As well, the activity at/near the Antarctic/SA rise continues.

On balance, I would think that the presures deriving from Bardabunga’s continued activity are now manifesting effectively, radially. I am slightly concerned that the location of the Japabese manifestation lays at a distance from the original Fukushima event that qualifies it as a potential candidate for another such occurance. My reasoning is simple: the vast release of energy which occured at that place (and time) wold have relived ALL tectonic stress thereat, thus setting the tage or new stresse to build elsewhere. Tectonic events are often well-modeled via ‘power-series’ expansions in time…and the time that has passed since the original event IS proximally sufficient to allow for another such, now, at a location just about where we are seeing the current activity.

Needless to say, that would ‘not be a GOOD thing…’ at this point. As always, I YEARN for my ‘good friend’ to return, so as to clarify the circumtance here for us all.

    @ Night Breaker,

      Mr Rodgers ,
Got your message señor, you first name doesn’t happen to be stefan? If it is we worked together on the WFC3 at GSFC in the late 90’s early 2000’s before NASA went south and I was dumped into DHS . ( how far things have fallen)
Seems like we are getting hit at all angles , that would explain your current location (60d N .) maximum shielding using the earth ( Eta dec-59d41’04.26″ RA 10h45m03.591″) GRB would not be good that secondary companion could stir up the precession of EC on the primary making it less than predictable I guess a good early indication would be neutrino hits (like SN 1987A) 3 to 4 hours before it hits .

Just another heap on things to worry about , I can tell you one thing it’s been a hell of a ride , wounded gulf war , college ( aerospace eng / minor astronomy ) NASA ( GSFC) then down sized to DHS , man I really miss NASA and the environment there, great people it was VERY POSITIVE there not depressing like where I am now.
They call me by a nickname at DHS can’t repeat it here for OPSEC , but I’ll never get off the damn island if this continues like this LOL . Some times I am just too smart for my own good , I feel like the guy in the Postman movie ( the engineer , he knows stuff) . I would rather be doing this stuff then what I am preparing for now , unfortunately this is now a reality in FUSA.

      • Mr Rodgers says:

        Good Morning Night Breaker,

Actually, ‘No’ in respose to the firt question you here pose.

“…GRB would not be good that secondary companion could stir up the precession of EC on the primary making it less than predictable.”

That is my concern as well, the system – constituted thusly – is wholly beyond predictability, and naturally ‘chaotic’. Given that we otherwise anitcipate that the remaining life of the primnary is LESS than 1 mil at current mass, current bolometric lumimouaity and taking into account the CURRENT abrupt ‘brightening’…well, ‘nervous’ would describe my current mind-set adequately, I suppose.

We would have little – or NO – warning, were that to occur. As you note, the various neutrino detectors might give us the barest warning either Kamiokande or the Antarctic ‘ICE Cube’…but that would do no good were one NOT already ‘ensconced’ in fullest saftey. There is another avenue by which we MIGHT have some e-warning… the LIGO detectors, but THERE we might well NOT be sure ‘what’ we were seeing. I suspect that near the ‘event’ it might well be the case that the deepest core would begin to ‘shudder’ harmoincally, possibly for days before. If so, given the density’s there invovled we might SEE that here via same. NB, please – here – take note of one specific thing; in what I placed here before, last night…read the portion that relates to MEN havinbg been HERE, before…the whole sentence…especially the end of it. Make no futher mention of that in response, here but instead simply dwell upon it.

I – in no sense – exaggerated in my description of our ‘surronds’ here. Had the Deity deliberately set out to craft a place of utter safety He could hardly have produced any better a result, IMHO. I SPENT nearly three years of my time locating this place, developing over 400 gigabytes of Google Earth maps of various regions, researching 1900’s (circa) records of trappers, explorers and miners within this region…as well, USGS records dating back as far as I could ontain them….of this place.

Buck Up Friend, it WILL get better…sooner than most think. Your mention of ‘Gulf War’ repercussions causes my heart to clutch within me…a sad and lonely path that is, for many who have SERVED. Be Well Brother….it seems I now have another to ADD to my – daily – ‘prayer list’… 😉

        Adios for now Friend.

The proud father answers, “17 pounds.”
The bartender, puzzled and concerned, asks, “Why? What happened? He already weighed 25 pounds at birth.”
The Texas father takes a slow swig from his longneck beer, wipes his lips on his shirt sleeve, leans into the bartender and proudly says, “Had him circumcised.”

This is shocking at first, then comes the desire to deny these facts and look the other way. I have tried hard to find fault with the apocalyptic theories, but after reading several books (Patriot by James Rawles, Tragedy and Hope and others) I decided the threat was real. I do not feel the need to question, as I understand what I am reading here. I feel that window of opportunity for avoiding the train wreck we are all approaching here has closed. I spend every day, sometimes 100x/day saying this prayer: “Courage!”. That’s it. I have all I need but the courage to face what we are facing, and for that I am ashamed. Low weight and high durability if you do your research. The stuff that I am talking about is what would give an intruder a fit. As I said before that I will fight a defensive war. A year or two of food supplies is nice but my research indicates that this “end” can accelerate that could compress our thoughts into six months. Thirty, sixty, ninety, then six month markers. Have to survive the parabolic upward curve. I would hope all the stupidity and hate and what is evil in the would will be consumed in this fire. Then we can all go back to being civil to each other as human beings that have something in common. Common Sense for one. We lived to see a New Day.

  66. Mr Rodgers says:

    Good Evening Everyone,

Occaisionally, it all just seems a ‘bit too much…’, doesn’t it?

Therefore, let me step away from my usual role here, for a short time, to take up another. Tonight I wish to be a ‘painter’ of sorts. To paint the picture that follows I am compelled to use words alone…for it is all we here have with which to communicate…and so it is.

    ….HERE, where we ARE,

Dawn breaks clean and clear daily in this PLACE. That almost always comes abruptly for we are cradled within high mountains here. After a walk of no more than a mile and a half from the front steps of our residence, one RISES almost 6000′ (yes, THOUSAND) feet in elevation. We sit on the banks of a river, in a valley carved by a glacier many tens of thousands of years ago. It is interesting to note that that glacier REMAINS, and that the foot of that glacier is but a short walk of only a few miles from the area directly behind our residence. “Mile wide and tens of miles long” that vast river of ice is!

The WATER here is so FREASH and CLEAN that words are inadequate to describe it’s incredible purity. As well, the air hereabouts is STAGGERINGLY clear! When I look down the valley from where we are, at the mountains there, as the valley turns out of view – a distance of some 28 miles – the peaks there SEEM so CLOSE to you that it seems that one ought to be able to simply reach out and touch them from afar. It is almost ‘supernatural’ in that aspect.

The LIFE in this place is – simply – surpassing. Here, we have a Brown Bear population in excess of one per square mile. You will rememeber that Bears are “apex predators”, Yes?….WHAT does THAT tell you of the LIFE in this place? Indeed, it IS rich..and varied in the extreme.

Within a distance of ten miles from here, the mountains RISE to over 13,000 feet. Those are snow-covered year-round and are a sight to behold! Very few inhabit this place, a vanishingly small number, in fact. Truly, it IS unique in so many ways that I cannot possibly descibe them all here. Men WERE here…long ago, but then departed some few decades after the turn of the last century. As you might expect, those left thier habitations and works in this place…to decay. Yet, much remains HERE…and some of that is ‘extraordinary’ indeed….and DEEP as well.

My – now – good Friend, who was here previously, ere I reuturnd, was asked to relay to you a particular recommendation respecting another place which I became aware of shortly before I left…one as good, if not better yet than our own, here. I hope you all hold that thought in mind…it may become important later, pleaase do NOT forget it.

Here, we have GROWN in number in all time since first I departed you; nearly now to a full ‘Four score’. Our presence here is a minor thing to this place, considering the immensity of this region; such as THIS could nurture many hundreds of times our own complement with ease…without crowding! The natural benefits that are here are all but ‘excessive’, truly. The mountanous character of thia place gives itself to vast running streams and rivers which are well suited to neccessary ‘generation’. We have done so, thusly as of this year, completing what was required in the way of ground-works…that is, revetments and dykes, as well the installation of the requisite equiptment to to so. Thankfully, “Many hands makes for LIGHT work”, as the phrase goes!

Most importantly, HERE, in the absence of the PRESSURES that aflict all who remain within the framework of ‘Civilization’ I have seen – here – a ‘Miracle’ to occur! Absent the strains that the World placed on us before when we were yet subject to it, HERE…there has yet to be STRIFE of any sort, whatsoever! Imagine THAT if you will. All that needs for the doing – here, in this place – is DONE every day, in the shortest order possible, and GLADLY so, by each and everyone of those here: by both Family and FRIENDS as well.

Friends, the WORLD has corrupted the spirit of all those that yet reside in it, but take heart: ALL that has been before, need be NO MORE…it can be OTHERWISE!

I would not tell you this were it not SO… for I have seen this with my own eyes! Please, therefor, TAKE Heart and do NOT despair EVER, neither FEAR…for that is the destroyer of reason, and LIFE as well.

I greatly desire that each and every one of you who yet remain within the clutches of the World, STAND UP and RAISE your heads and LOOK around to see what is now..IT WILL PASS all too soon. When it does, there will come a time such as NONE has ever seen in all the history of the Earth, a time of FFREEDOM…which most here crave as they crave thier next BREATH; of SELF-DETEMINATION, for there will be NONE left of what was before…and those who were heartless shall be no more…..and so will not afflict thier fellows AGAIN upon the Earth: LOVE for yours…and OTHERS as well, when there is no NEED that strains your mind, any longer, as it is now strained – DAILY – by the machinations of those who have THIEVED all the bounty of the Land, of the whole EARTH itself: and at the last, HOPE…for we are NOT forsaken, though many – today – would beleive that they are. I tell you here …it IS NOT SO.

Also…one last, small point I must make with you ere I close: I must ask of you here…WHAT will you SURRENDER to have such as we here have now? Will you surrender your Fears?, will you surrender your Greeds?…will you surrender your Hatreds? ASK this of your Heart!

All these MUST be given up…you KNOW this, we ALL do. Each and every person that is yet a PART of ‘What-is -Greater’, who yet posses thier own SOUL, knows these things to be true. The CHOICE is YOURS.

Think long…and with wisdom applied broadly, on what you will next do…there is HOPE yet to be had my Friends; Again here, “I would not tell you this, were it not SO”.

Oh, WHAT my eyes have SEEN in this place!……

Adios Amigo’s….Sleep well, in peace…and in HOPE.

  68. vapor says:

Here is a bit of history worth remembering…..

Most Americans are unaware of the fact that over two hundred years ago, the United States had declared war on Islam, and Thomas Jefferson led the charge!

At the height of the eighteenth century, Muslim pirates were the terror of the Mediterranean and a large area of the North Atlantic. They attacked every ship in sight, and held the crews for exorbitant ransoms. Those taken hostage were subjected to barbaric treatment and wrote heart breaking letters home, begging their government and family members to pay whatever their Mohammedan captors demanded.

These extortionists of the high seas represented the Islamic nations of Tripoli, Tunis, Morocco, and Algiers, collectively referred to as the Barbary Coast and presented a dangerous and unprovoked threat to the new American Republic.

Before the Revolutionary War, U.S. merchant ships had been under the protection of Great Britain. When the U.S. declared its independence and entered into war, the ships of the United States were protected by France. However, once the war was won, America had to protect its own fleets. Thus, the birth of the U.S. Navy.

Beginning in1784, seventeen years before he would become president, Thomas Jefferson became America’s Minister to France. That same year, the U.S. Congress sought to appease its Muslim adversaries by following in the footsteps of European nations who paid bribes to the Barbary States, rather than engaging them in war.

In July of 1785, Algerian pirates captured American ships, and the Dey of Algiers demanded an unheard-of ransom of $60,000. It was a plain and simple case of extortion, and Thomas Jefferson was vehemently opposed to any further payments. Instead, he proposed to Congress the formation of a coalition of allied nations who together could force the Islamic states into peace. A disinterested Congress decided to pay the ransom.

In 1786, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams met with Tripoli’s ambassador to Great Britain to ask by what right his nation attacked American ships and enslaved American citizens, and why Muslims held so much hostility towards America, a nation with which they had no previous contacts.

The two future presidents reported that Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja had answered that Islam “was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Quran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise.”

Despite of this stunning admission of premeditated violence on non-Muslim nations, as well as the objections of many notable American leaders, including George Washington, who warned that caving in was both wrong and would only further embolden the enemy, for the following fifteen years, the American government paid the Muslims millions of dollars for the safe passage of American ships or the return of American hostages. The payments in ransom and tribute amounted to over twenty percent of the United States government annual revenues in 1800.

Jefferson was disgusted. Shortly after his being sworn in as the third President of the United States in 1801, the Pasha of Tripoli sent him a note demanding the immediate payment of $225,000 plus $25,000 a year for every year forthcoming. That changed everything.

Jefferson let the Pasha know, in no uncertain terms, what he could do with his demand. The Pasha responded by cutting down the flagpole at the American consulate and declared war on the United States. Tunis, Morocco, and Algiers immediately followed suit. Jefferson, until now, had been against America raising a naval force for anything beyond coastal defense, but having watched his nation be cowed by Islamic thuggery for long enough, decided that is was finally time to meet force with force.

He dispatched a squadron of frigates to the Mediterranean and taught the Muslim nations of the Barbary Coast a lesson he hoped they would never forget. Congress authorized Jefferson to empower U.S. ships to seize all vessels and goods of the Pasha of Tripoli and to “cause to be done all other acts of precaution or hostility as the state of war would justify”.

When Algiers and Tunis, who were both accustomed to American cowardice and acquiescence, saw the newly independent United States had both the will and the might to strike back, they quickly abandoned their allegiance to Tripoli. The war with Tripoli lasted for four more years, and raged up again in 1815. The bravery of the U.S. Marine Corps in these wars led to the line “to the shores of Tripoli” in the Marine Hymn, They would forever be known as “leathernecks” for the leather collars of their uniforms, designed to prevent their heads from being cut off by the Muslim scimitars when boarding enemy ships.

Islam, and what its Barbary followers justified doing in the name of their prophet and their god, disturbed Jefferson quite deeply. America had a tradition of religious tolerance, the fact that Jefferson, himself, had co-authored the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, but fundamentalist Islam was like no other religion the world had ever seen. A religion based on supremacism, whose holy book not only condoned but mandated violence against unbelievers was unacceptable to him. His greatest fear was that someday this brand of Islam would return and pose an even greater threat to the United States.

This should bother every American. That the Islams have brought about women-only classes and swimming times at taxpayer-funded universities and public pools; that Christians, Jews, and Hindus have been banned from serving on juries where Muslim defendants are being judged, Piggy banks and Porky Pig tissue dispensers have been banned from workplaces because they offend Islamist sensibilities. Ice cream has been discontinued at certain Burger King locations because the picture on the wrapper looks similar to the Arabic script for Allah, public schools are pulling pork from their menus, on and on in the news papers¦.

It’s death by a thousand cuts, or inch-by-inch as some refer to it, and most Americans have no idea that this battle is being waged every day across America. By not fighting back, by allowing groups to obfuscate what is really happening, and not insisting that the Islamists adapt to our own culture, the United States is cutting its own throat with a politically correct knife, and helping to further the Islamists agenda. Sadly, it appears that today’s America would rather be politically correct than victorious.

Any doubts, just Google Thomas Jefferson vs the Muslim World

And in 2-21 days we find out who she has infected. Interesting, a nurse at the hospital infected but no news on his family, that he lived with. Ummmmm?

      • Gunnar's mom says:

Now here is my question again from last week. My daughter’s friend’s mom flew to Dallas in the midst of it all. She is in the medical field.(don’t know if she was remotely near hospital) I also clean houses on my days off. Their house is one of them. I am trying to be logical and think that there is no way that she brought it home but… What would any of you do?? I am open to all advice; including the fact that I may be acting like Henny Penny.

        • slingshot says:

          Gunnar’s Mom.

If you are worried about it. Imagine how she feels.
I would talk to her and get some particulars on how close she was to the sick person. It is your choice to be safe and I am sure she would feel the same way. Maybe agree on some rules or changes in house cleaning.

You might need the job and money
She might think your over the top being too cautious.

How many days between cleaning? Adjust days according to incubation period of ebola. Not fail safe.

          • Gunnar's mom says:

She is a bit of a simpleton so she is not worried at all. Her daughter is worried, as I guess we all are, only for the fact that the rules keep changing for this. I am supposed to clean this week. She got home from Dallas on Sun.the 5th after spending a week there. I hate being so worried about this. Not so much for me but my family if I were to get sick.

      • Mr Rodgers says:

        Good Evening KY,

I am becoming rather concerned at this point. IF a competent nurse ( as an assumption here) in a 1st world facility can become infected by the Ebola virus ater having had contact with one so infected, then what are OUR chances of contracting that in day-to-day life following an exposure? This is ‘grim news’ indeed. Please be careful everyone…very, very careful in the weeks to come.

    • Walt Kowalski says:

And this nurse was following the protocols for medical workers treating those infected.

So much for the CDC’s mantra about this virus being difficult to catch.

      • Enemy of the State says:

        Curious
Is this “virus” fragile enough to be killed by cold climates?
Seems it’s origin and where it’s been are warm areas of the globe
What happens when it try’s to infect in a very cold climate or a brutal winter?
        Has this been determined?
        Has it been tested?
Are there any speculation , or real intel on that?
I live in a colder zone as things progress toward winter
Could that be a God send? Could it be a possible barrier?
        Anyone know?

  71. Tucker says:

“The average person depends upon government tremendously – even those not on welfare. There are pensions and Social Security that people really believe they are “entitled” to and thus these benefits will exist. What happens when they realize they do not?”

Notice the devious choice of words used here. ‘people really believe they are “entitled” to’ – he is talking here about benefits that these people have EARNED by either being forced to pay into these programs or by going to work for a government or a company who offered those benefits as an enticement to attract and hold onto employees who had skills that the government or company needed in order for them to fulfill a mission or to make a profit. This is one more example of the trend I’ve been seeing over the last decade where writers and analysts are deviously trying to blur the lines of distinction between ‘earned’ benefits and ‘unearned’ benefits, i.e., social entitlements – and lump them both into the same category.

This trend seems to be growing and I am convinced that the forces who are behind it are the usual suspects who are trying to sow the seeds in the minds of the sheeple that signal that they are setting the stage for the government to renege on the earned benefits that they are on the hook for and which they owe to millions of people in both the government and the US military.

Meanwhile, nary a week goes by where we do not see another piece of legislation being passed by Congress and signed into law by the asshole in the White House whereby Israel is given another gigantic, $500 million or more dollars of the US taxpayers money in the form of foreign or military aid, and now, we have ObongoMugabe declaring that the US taxpayers have to send billions of our dollars to his fellow blacks in Africa to help them with their Ebola crisis.

Also, at the same time we are hearing these sob stories from a growing number of our goober-mint officials about how ‘broke’ they are – we are seeing our corrupt and treasonous politicians agitating to launch new wars against any nation that the shit hole nation of Israel and their treasonous 5th column of neo-con war mongering jews and jew stooges (McCain, Lindsay Graham, Ted Cruz, Mittens Romney, Jeb Bush, Rand Paul, etc.) demand that the US taxpayer finance and the US military fight on behalf of the murderous psychopaths in Israel.

Wars that will cost the USA trillions of dollars, every penny of which the US government will have to ‘borrow’ from the jewish bankers over at the Federal Reserve and upon which the US taxpayers will be required to pay massive amounts of interest, which will go straight into the pockets of the World’s Most Parasitic Practitioners of Usury.

Sorry, Max. I do not buy the idea that the US government cannot make good on the earned benefit obligations that they’ve helped to pile up. Its all a matter of adjusting their spending priorities, which means rounding up these neo-con war mongering cockroaches – putting them on trial for treason and as war criminals, trying and convicting them, and then promptly executing them. Its a matter of severing all ties to the bloodthirsty psychopaths who run the criminal, false flag engineering state of Israel – and stop allowing that blood sucking nation of vampires to suck the financial resources out of the United States taxpayers. Its a matter of zeroing out ALL foreign aid to every turd world shit hole of a nation on this planet, and sealing our borders to make sure that these blood sucking, parasitic, third world leeches cannot sneak into the USA and then start feasting off of the US taxpayers paychecks.

  72. Molly Pitcher says:

PO’d….its all over Fox news this morning…do we know for sure it was a nurse? Common sense would dictate as nurses have the most patient contact….my ponderings include….:

How were the staff, (doctors, aides, lab techs, radiology techs, dialysis techs/nurses), all prepared for this eventuality?

What guarantees did these workers receive that should this happen, their care would be provided…at the hospital’s expense?

Will the hospital wimp out and use “best practices” (Old Remus at the Woodpile, has plenty to say about “best practices”, and it is not encouraging) or known effective treatment?

Were they tested during the treatment of the infected patient in order to monitor their level of exposure or is doing that not medical value?

Were these hospital workers kept on site in order to protect society and prevent spread of the disease, during this event?

The grey time zone….is what I call the time frame from the patient’s first presentation in the ER to his admission…am pondering the status of the ER staff and their families and others around them….

Workman’s comp, you can bet, is scrambling to reduce their liability.

All this brouhaha because someone lied on a document…the panic and expense…the risks…make no mistake, this patient from overseas knew…and placed a whole lot of people at risk…

I heard a blurb and not sure if I heard it correctly but the implication is GSK will try and put an ebola vaccine in a flu shot….time will tell on this one.

Another blurb…not sure of its veracity….hospitals are doing isolation drills to test preparedness…(that might relate to a rumor I heard yesterday)…

And a nursing pearl for all….Do Not Depend on hand sanitizer alone….it is an additional layer of protection-intervention and does not replace good old fashioned hand washing with soap and hot water. And bleach based wipes are best for surfaces.

Press conference just revealed the current patient had been in full protective gear…this gets scarier by the minute…the last guy to answer questions seemed way too serious…let the scrutiny begin.

And there is a pet in the apartment…I hope its ok…

    Oh well…welcome to Sunday….

    • Walt Kowalski says:

Here’s something else I have not heard even touched on in the media discussion of this…..

When Duncan first went to the hospital ER in Dallas, how long was he in the ER waiting room before he was seen? And WHO did he come in contact with while he was there?

It has been my experience that the waiting rooms of ER’s are frequently at full capacity, with people sitting elbow to elbow. How do we know that he didn’t come into contact with more people there?

    • Anonymous says:

Yeah, and Sierre Leonne, the medical personnel have thrown up their hands, stopped treating people and are simply giving out boxes of plastic gloves, etc to the people and telling them to take care of their families themselves… guess they have no choice, as the nurses are dieing of the disease too!

And in Liberia, the nurses are running away from the hospitals… any how, the stupid ass govt is not paying them hardly anything, not enough to live on, they don’t have enough hazmat suits and hardly any beds.. all so sad, and unfortunately, will come here as well…

OK,another good write from another site by author Paul:

I am over 65 and the Armed Forces thinks I’m too old to track down terrorists. You can’t be older than 42 to join the military. They’ve got the whole thing ass-backwards.

Instead of sending 18-year olds off to fight, they ought to take us old guys. You shouldn’t be able to join a military unit until you’re at least 35.

For starters, researchers say 18-year-olds think about sex every 10 seconds. Old guys only think about sex a couple of times a month, leaving us more than 280,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy.

Young guys haven’t lived long enough to be cranky, and a cranky soldier is a dangerous soldier. ‘My back hurts! I can’t sleep, I’m tired and hungry.’ We are bad-tempered and impatient, and maybe letting us kill some asshole that desperately deserves it will make us feel better and shut us up for a while..

An 18-year-old doesn’t even like to get up before 10am. Old guys always get up early to pee, so what the hell. Besides, like I said, I’ m tired and can’t sleep and since I’m already up, I may as well be up killing some fanatical son-of-a-bitch.

If captured we couldn’t spill the beans because we’d forget where we put them. In fact, name, rank, and serial number would be a real brainteaser.

Boot camp would be easier for old guys.. We’re used to getting screamed and yelled at and we’re used to soft food. We’ve also developed an appreciation for guns. We’v e been using them for years as an excuse to get out of the house, away from the screaming and yelling.

They could lighten up on the obstacle course however… I’ve been in combat and never saw a single 20-foot wall with rope hanging over the side, nor did I ever do any pushups after completing basic training.

Actually, the running part is kind of a waste of energy, too… I’ve never seen anyone outrun a bullet.

An 18-year- old has the whole world ahead of him. He’s still learning to shave, to start a conversation with a pretty girl. He still hasn’t figured out that a baseball cap has a brim to shade his eyes, not the back of his head.

These are all great reasons to keep our kids at home to learn a little more about life before sending them off into harm’s way.

Let us old guys track down those terrorists. The last thing an enemy would want to see is a couple million pissed off old farts with bad attitudes and automatic weapons, who know that their best years are already behind them.

HEY!! How about recruiting Women over 50…in menopause!!! You think MEN have attitudes??
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh my God!!! If nothing else, put them on border patrol. They’ll have it secured the first night!

So he calls the teacher and says, “My son Johnny will be starting your class tomorrow but he likes to gamble so you’ll have to keep an eye on him.”

The next day Johnny walks into class and hands the teacher an apple and says, “Hi, my name is Johnny.”

She says yes I know who you are.

Johnny smiles and says, “I bet you ten dollars you’ve got a mole on your butt.”

The teacher thinks that she will break his little gambling problem so she takes him up on the bet.

She pulls her pants down and shows him her butt and there was no mole.

That afternoon, Johnny goes home and tells his dad that he lost ten dollars to the teacher and why.

So his dad calls the teacher and says, “Johnny said that he bet you that you had a mole on your butt and he lost.”

The teacher says, “Yeah, and I think I broke his gambling problem.”

Dallas Hospital Worker Tests Positive For Ebola In First Person-To-Person Transmission On US Soil
    (from ZeroHedge site)

And then there was #2. A few hours ago, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, announced that a health care worker who cared for dying Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan, has tested positive for the virus after a preliminary test, officials said early Sunday. If confirmed, it would be the first known person-to-person transmission of the disease in the United States. The name of the patients is currently unknown, what is known however, is that the worker was “considered to be at low risk for contracting the virus” and the he or she was wearing full protective gear when treating Duncan, suggesting – yet again – that there is a transmission mechanism which is not accounted for under conventional protocol.

On this morning’s (Sunday) Face the Nation, one of the commentators suggested that after the November election, Obama may be appointing Republicans to various high level positions, similar to the recent appointment of Gen. Kelly, for the purpose of helping Obama move forward on actions that are needed for the country.

Let’s get something straight right here and right now.

There is NO SUCH THING as a loyal, non-traitorous American who accepts an appointment from Obama to work for him, assist him, support his policies, or otherwise aid and abet him.

    Period.

You can be either a traitorous Communist sympathizer and/or facilitator, or, you can be a loyal American. There is no in between, there is no “little bit” loyal American. Just as there is no such thing as a little bit pregnant….

Gen. Kelly would be smart to withdraw from his position, and, no loyal, God-fearing, trustworthy American should even consider agreeing to work for Obama as one of his appointees, REGARDLESS of the status, prestige, or authority of the position offered.

Communism is Communism. A Communist sympathizer is a Communist sympathizer. There is no gray area.

The sun was shining with perfect crystalline clarity and the sky was blue to the point of being nearly dark directly overhead…and PEACE lay on each and every one there; utter, complete PEACE. I have to take that as a PROMISE…yet to come. I woke with ‘moist eyes’ and could not get the lump out of my throat for a long while afterwards.

Well, if the nurse turns out to be some two-ton Tillie with an obviously low IQ appearance, then we’ll know who’s right, won’t we?

Slovenly appearance and lack of self-discipline as evidenced by obesity remain strong indicators of a person likely to louse up in any function demanding strict adherence to procedure and unforgiving attention to detail.

    @ Night Breaker,

Truly, you KNOW Mr Brown?! Oh my..the pure coincidence of that…eery, indeed.

“Never thought about the red sky being that of excited nitrogen at high altitude in his prophesy.
    Very eerie .”

Some bit ago…in an article up XArchiv – the Academic repository site – was a piece by some Australian researchers (if memeory here serves me…CRS occaisionally does STRIKE at my age) wherein they determined that monatomic OXYGEN (O1) at extreme altitude (200-600 km) was the origin of all the “Blood-Red Aurora’s” that occur from time to time during extraordinary Solar Storms/activity. The reasoning they applied is as follows:

AT the highest upper reaches of the atmospehere the Oxygen there is NOT diatomic – O2 – as it is here at our natural altitude. Thence when any relatively high energy event encouters a wandering molecule of O2 and disrupts it, the resultant free atoms of Oxygen are NOT apt to re-combine due to ‘rareification’ of the gases there.

ONLY monatomic Oxygen can first absorb and THEN sustain the exzctitation that leads to the (quite long afterwards…’minutes’, as they state…until a random collision with another molecule/atom allows for that) emision of the definitive red spectrum quanta….the diatomic case is such that emission is nearly instantaneous and of the wrong energy – as well – to produce that effect.

NOW, IMAGINE – if you will – THIS: a continuous. prolonged excitation of the upper reaches of the high troposphere by an ‘event’ wherein a sustained burst of high energy X/Gamma was there incident. We see aurora here (typically) as fleeting, diphanous, ephemeral phenomena…’transient’ i the word that comes to mind most easily here Yes? And NEVER otherwise, for all Solar activity is naturally ‘episodic’…and briefly so…Just so. HOWEVER were the case – in effect – as I posit at the lead here, MIGHT not that become a continuous, ‘full-sky’ display? Even DAY or NIGHT, either? Eery? the HAIR is standing up all over ME presently…I – now – might as well be standing on a Van der Graff generator for how I feel this moment…

NB…might you should – !dilgently! – effort yourself to CONTACT Mr Brown, if at all possible…he MIGHT need to hear this surmise. I am NOT sure if you have any background in other ‘mythos’…but what I have come to find ‘disturbinbg’ of late, is that many, MANY cultures have or posit that ‘an END; comes as a result of a ‘luminous event’, at the last. The Norse do…Ragnarok, the Hopi do…the Blue and Red Kachina oft spoke of in thier myths…as well MUCH other native American lore similarly posits such…AND ‘Washington’s Prophecy’ ALSO…look that up under that name…google it.

We SHOULD discuss this further Friend, as time permits us both. Till then my Brother!

You KNOW Mr Brown!…well I’ll be DAMNED…Yep, ya just CAN’T see this stuff a comin’, can ya? Well I’ll be dipped in sh….

Yep have know him for years , he still has the hmmV with the tracker logo on the doors , infact his foundation is located in the town I live in . Maybe some things are not coincidences and are meant to be I am glad I have continued Bushcrafting as a hobby over the years along with amateur astronomy to keep my sense of wonder and intellect alive it’s just who I am .
Tom’s sort of a local legend around here does many things with the school kids , the pine barrens may not be as remote as your location but it does have its advantages.
Take care my friend hopefully things will get better it’s always darkest before the dawn.
In light of the latest news I dread what tuesday morning at work is going to bring.
I really miss my previous employment . thought I had all the brother in arms stuff behind me , some times life does play a cruel joke on oneself.

        Good Eveninbng Night Breaker,

To start, thank you for the swift response; I am amazed at the ‘coincidence’ here involved Friend. I have spent most of the last several hours simply marveling at the subtlety I see in this ‘chance event’. “Tighten Up Bro”….with each passinng day now I FEEL more and MORE that ‘resolution’ is NEARLY here. But persist yet a little while…. Yes, it’ HARD dealing with ‘idjits’, but some of those will ‘come around’ as things come into focus better; every one of which is IMPORTANT in the End. I am sure that you are familair with the phrsae, “Do ALL you can do…then STAND in Faith.”. That is, not ‘some’, not ‘most’…NOT 72%…ALL. I know, He’s a stern taskmaster…but we ARE loved nonetheless; Thank God.

Hang in there, each of us has the task before them that is intended, of that I am quite SURE. Ever has it been…have as good a week as you can Friend, and LIVE WELL….all the while.

Foornote: I have been explorinbg – in DETAIL – the probable ramifications of an ‘event’ of that order…I am only partially completed there, it may be the day after tomorrow ere I can delineate the broad range of effects that would attend such in any passably defintive /comprehensive sense. Till later then…

    Has it gone airborne?

I grow tired of Ebola and the CDC will not tell you the truth. You will have to see dead bodies lying on the ground to get the hint. Precautions? Too Little Too Late.

    • T-town says:

seems to me if it were airborne, more would be infected. Where is his family? Why haven’t we heard anything about them. today is day 18, by By Wednesday, more victims should be revealed.

And now, a second person who recently arrived in the U.S. from West Africa has been put in isolation with Ebola symptoms: in Braintree, MA, outside Boston.

It is far past time to cancel all visa issuance, all current visas, and all visa applications for anyone seeking to enter the U.S. from West Africa. It is far past time to quarantine any U.S. citizen, in the airport in an isolated holding area with international arrivals, who has traveled to West Africa — for the full 21 days before they can leave the airport. It is far past time to pull our troops back out of West Africa before they become infected. It is far past time to ban all airliners originating or transiting any West African airport from landing in the U.S.

No exceptions. No excuses. Use lethal force at the airports with any arriving passenger who qualifies for denial of entry and attempts to leave the holding/quarantine area. Any en route holders of U.S. visas coming from West Africa should be immediately put on the next plane out of the U.S. with their visa cancelled.

This crap is being brought into the country by travelers from West Africa. Put a stop to it NOW.

    From the CDC

    Bio Safety Level 4

BSL-4 builds upon the containment requirements of BSL-3 and is the highest level of biological safety. There are a small number of BSL-4 labs in the United States and around the world. The microbes in a BSL-4 lab are dangerous and exotic, posing a high risk of aerosol-transmitted infections. Infections caused by these microbes are frequently fatal and without treatment or vaccines. Two examples of microbes worked with in a BSL-4 laboratory include Ebola and Marburg viruses.

In addition to BSL-3 considerations, BSL-4 laboratories have the following containment requirements:

    Laboratory practices
    •Change clothing before entering.
    •Shower upon exiting.
    •Decontaminate all materials before exiting.

    Safety equipment
•All work with the microbe must be performed within an appropriate Class III BSC , or by wearing a full body, air-supplied, positive pressure A suit.

    Facility construction
•The laboratory is in a separate building or in an isolated and restricted zone of the building.
•The laboratory has dedicated supply and exhaust air, as well as vacuum lines and decontamination systems.

This is straight from the CDC’s website. This is how they treat Ebola in there labs. When it gets out in the public they don’t seem to care do they.

1 – Oh it is not a big deal they say.
2 – It will not be a problem in the US.
3 – We don’t need to restrict air travel.
4 – Our health care system is prepared for this.
5 – You cannot catch it unless you come in contact with bodily fluids.
6 – In the public they are treating it like any other blood borne pathogen. ( A known Lie ).
7 – Screening at air ports with a questionnaire and temperature guns. ( Symptoms may not show up for 21 days ).

I will stop there but how stupid do they think we are. They are lying through there teeth for some reason. This is why I am nervous and have a bad feeling about this. Something major is up.

    It just makes no sense.
