The Red List: Prepper Put on No Fly List, Escorted Off Plane Under Armed Guard

Up until recently the existence of a national “red list” of domestic dissidents and potential terrorists existed only within the realm of conspiracy theory and Hollywood story lines.

But what if such a red list did exist?

What if all of those tracking and monitoring mechanisms being put into place by the Department of Homeland Security, the National Security Administration and the Central Intelligence Agency are now being utilized to identify and take action against American citizens who may pose a perceived threat to the security and stability of the United States government?

Yes, it sounds like something out of a science fiction novel, but you’d better believe that it’s happening, and it’s happening right here and now.

When 34-year-old U.S. citizen and Mississippi resident Wade Hicks boarded a military flight to visit his wife, a Navy lieutenant stationed in Okinawa, Japan, he did not think it would be a one-way trip. Stopping off in Hawaii to refuel, upon reboarding the plane, Hicks was quickly escorted back off again by armed guards. He was then taken to a secure interrogation room where Hicks was informed he would not be flying anywhere because he turned up on the no-fly list.

Hicks has since been stranded on the island state without a way home.

After being asked to get off the plane, “It started out like something fairly routine,” Hicks said in his interview with Infowars. “About 15-20 minutes later, two heavily armed Air Force security forces guys showed up.”

It was then Hicks was told he would not be flying anywhere. There is no indication as to why Hicks was able to first fly from San Francisco to Hawaii without being notified he was supposedly on the list.

Seemingly the only “crime” Hicks has committed that would end in revocation of his ability to fly is his affiliation with the Mississippi Preparedness Project, a prepper organization. Although prepping is not illegal, the FBI has been cracking down on preppers for awhile now, with everything from spying on people who visit prepper websitesto straight up stripping preppers of their Second Amendment rights.

Hicks revealed to Infowars that a supposed disabled veteran claiming to be a Navy Seal had joined his prepper group earlier in the year, but Hicks felt the man’s story seemed suspicious. Through a Freedom of Information Act request, Hicks learned the man had never been in the military even though he possessed an authentic military ID. Sometime later while out driving, Hicks saw the man’s car and ended up tailing him to a Mississippi Department of Homeland Security branch office where the man parked his car.

When asked if he thought his affiliation with a prepper group caused him to get detained, Hicks responded, “If it does, that’s a pretty sad situation.”

    Via Infowars

Watch the disturbing Infowars report and interview with Wade Hicks and Doug Hagman of the Northeast Intelligence Network:

Wade Hicks is a law abiding citizen; this has been confirmed by a background check performed by the Northeast Intelligence Network which was authorized by Hicks.

His only “crime,” it seems, is that he is associated with the preparedness movement and that he has a preference for limited government.

Last year Senator Rand Paul warned us about scenarios much like this one. To the apathetic and indifferent ears of the American public Paul said “that some day there could be a government in power that is shipping its citizens off for disagreements.”

That day has come and Rand Paul’s prescient warnings are becoming a frightening reality.

There are laws on the books now that characterize who might be a terrorist.

Someone missing fingers on their hands is a suspect according to the Department of Justice. Someone who has guns, someone who has ammunition that is weatherproofed, someone who has more than seven days of food in their house can be considered a potential terrorist.

If you are suspected by these activities do you want the government to have the ability to send you to Guantanamo Bay for indefinite detention?

Wade Hicks may not have been sent to Guantanamo, but he was detained against his will and restricted from travel by his own government – and for no reason at all. In fact, Hicks may never learn why he was added to the no-fly list because of national security secrecy laws made possible through the Patriot Act.

He has been found guilty without ever having been charged, with no evidence having been presented, and without being tried in a court of law as is mandated by the Constitution of the United States – the supposed fundamental law of the land.

The bottom line is that Wade Hicks is considered a potential terrorist and enemy of the United States.

    He’s on the red list.

And there’s a strong possibility that if you store emergency food, or visit alternative web sites, or put a Gadsden bumper sticker on your car, or like to collect guns, or associate with certain groups on social networks, you are already on the red list, or soon will be.

We once facetiously noted that the rate at which people are being added to government no-fly lists, no-work lists and the DHS master list, indicates the list itself will exceed the population of the entire country by 2019. Maybe that notion wasn’t so far off.

This is America, and everyone is guilty until proven innocent.

True story I was flying to Vegas and when I went though security. I was checked from toe to head. When Iwas at the gate I was researched before boarding. The plane we got on broke. So we had to deplane (at the terminal) and get on another that worked. I was rechecked again. The was a list in the teams hand and mine and at least 3 other names were high lighted. Ad this was before TSA and all this crap.

Wade Hicks like all preppers commit the ultimate crime to the government, he thinks and uses his brain. TSA is nothing but an extension of the poison of the government that goes against the citizens, like the tentacles and stingers of a deadly jelly fish. Wade Hicks ONLY is honest about the way he feels, yet if that is in anyway into being a blind and deaf conformist that the state wants 100% of the population to be, then this free thinker is labled a terrorist.

The real key word here in thinking is FREE. The opposite meaqning of free is slave, and people that are good little philistine robots the government will allow them to fly and move around anywhere them, just like cattle on some meat wagon. For me and others on this site, we will take thinking for ourselves and continue to prepare because we know and we don’t have to be told by the government on how to live our lives nor how to behave or think. We all know what free thought is, FREEDOM.

You are right. “… Just the beginning”. Right now, generally, we have LEO’s ignorantly following orders and The People are trying to exercise restraint. The element that your progression of events leaves out is history (think 1774).
As in The Declaration of Independence, we too are now long tolerating offenses as a people. If (a BIG if) govt continues to grossly erode and aggress, then there is some line where the People as a whole acknowledge that they are no longer the “guards” of Our future security. I pray we don’t, but at that point, the lines get drawn. You must be brave and thoughtful about this. This is where all must choose to not enforce unconstitutional law. It is also when The Peoples prior restraint will be changed. Tolerance of tyranny is a constant, the level of tolerance is what changes.
Sun Tzu said that when you are faced by a superior force-evade! And this END where your train of thought arrives may not occur. If it did, that would be unthinkable and indefensible…. A tyrannical plan befitting only of a wicked foreign invading army. If the good ol’ USA is being terrorized by some foreign invader, then REPEL AND EVADE. This has been our countries response since the beginning (Revolutionary War, War Between the States and Pearl Harbor battle, etc…).
Think THE SECURITY OF OUR HOMELAND. Don’t think SHOOT BAD COPS. The former is noble and productive. The latter is precarious with the common man as the judge… And you will likely be taken off the battlefield before the Homeland needs Securing. Peace all!

Thats how we got so many fucked up laws today. Our parents and grandparents never resisted.

All I heard all my life when I Did complain of it all, was “Well, They gotta do Something!”….Then all acepted it. It was always Me who was so Goofy to complain!

Too bad They wasnt so “goofy” as to complain and Flat out Refuse to comply Prior to it got this bad or far gone.

The rules and unconstitutional government laws, especially those since 9/11/01, are designed to remove our freedoms and liberty.

Don’t play the game. Unplug. Do not enter the fly-zone. Do not enter restricted government property. Do not trust freely or assume you’re among like-minded individuals.

Continue thinking freely. Continue protecting yourself and those you love. Continue objecting to the illegal government. And above all, continue preparing yourself for more unconstitutional governmental assault.

Time to consider “what if”. What if you were apprehended and did not commit a crime? Do you and your family have a plan?

Be Informed, I’m with you all the way. Nothing that government has done before or after 9/11 has any legitimate basis whatsoever. If I’m on someone’s list, then so be it! I ‘ve been prepping since Katrina, I live by a set of rules known as the Holy Bible and the Bill of Rights, I believe goernment regulations and taxation should be reduced by 75%, I believe the military should be brought home and stop interfering in other countries’ affairs, I believe law enforcement should stop its unjustifiable abuse of citizens, I believe this country has to return to its roots inorder to save it, etc. etc. etc. NOBODY TELLS ME WHAT I CAN OR CANNOT HAVE IN MY HOME, WHAT TO THINK, WHAT TO BELIEVE, WHERE I CAN OR CANNOT GO ON THE INTERNET, WHAT TO EAT, WHAT TO DRINK, ETC. ETC. ETC. There is no legitimate basis for any of the draconian legislation handed down before or after 9/11. There is no legitimate basis for government officials’ attitude toward the American people. Everything I see and hear going back to Vietnam tells me the government has never had and never will have good intentions toward the people they rule over. That’s the way it’s been all over the world since the Book of Genesis. Won’t be much longer til’ SHTF, I’m afraid. it’s going to be a different world afterwards. It’s a tough (it was written in the 1700′s by an Englishman, so the prose is not modern. have a dictionary handy) and very long (six volumes) read, but worth the effort, IMHO. Just stay alert, bide your time and continue to prepare. We still have about 3 weeks until the election. The American people are slow to anger, but when that line in crossed, look out. We are nearing that point, now.

We read how Barry’s supporters are now threatening Romney’s life if he should win. We American’s watch, look and listen and measure everything.

Let me ask you and others on here who are Liberty and Freedom loving Citizens these thoughts. If the polls indicated that Romney should run away with the election and win in a landslide, but in fact loses the election, would people consider the cause and stolen election is from the new contracted vote counting company from Spain as the culprit? This is a company that purchased the former vote counting company this past January and the owner happens to be a Socialist, as Barry is (Check it Out).

        http://afteramerica.wordpress.com/2012/10/10/why-barrack-obama-will-win-the-election-just-weeks-away/

Or, could there be a False Flag planned before the election so that Martial Law can be declared which would suspend the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Congress, Judiciary and of course, the upcoming Election?

With the Narcissist-In-Chief in the Whitehouse and a Marxist Socialist to boot, we could very well have ourselves a real problem. Because of Barry’s ideology, it is not likely that he intends to play fair. He was prepped and chosen for the Presidency and his mission is not yet complete.

It is ironic that when government wages war on its own citizens, like in this case, they encourage revolution.

My view is that revolution has already started, but it is still in the peaceful stage. More and more people are questioning the current relationship between government and citizens, but they still see the slim possibility that freedom will be restored through the political process; when it becomes sufficiently evident that this will fail, the only avenue left will be violence. Government repression only gets us to the revolution point quicker.

It took about a 15 years crisis period for the American Revolution to reach the point of violence, and it looks to me like the current crisis period began about in 2007 -2008 with the financial breakdown. I am thinking after the 2020 elections that the divide between government and citizen will be beyond repair. All it will take is some trigger event, just like the trigger event for the American Revolution was confrontation by Minutemen at Lexington Green with the British Army which was marching to Concord, MA to confiscate arms and ammunition stored there by the Massachusetts Militia.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The number of violent crimes rose by 18 percent in the United States last year while property crimes went up by 11 percent, the government reported Wednesday.

The increase in violent crime was the result of an upward swing in assaults, which rose 22 percent, from 4 million in 2010 to 5 million last year. But the incidence of rape, sexual assault and robbery remained largely unchanged, as did serious violent crime involving weapons or injury

In the latest survey, property crime was up for the first time in a decade, from 15.4 million in 2010 to 17 million last year. Household burglaries rose 14 percent, from 3.2 million to 3.6 million. The number of thefts jumped by 10 percent, from 11.6 million to 12.8 million.

The RICO Act is codified as Chapter 96 of Title 18 of the U.S. Code, which deals with federal crimes and criminal procedure. Although it was intended to be used against the Mafia and others engaged in organized crime, the RICO Act has been used to prosecute all sorts of criminal activity.

          What Is the RICO Act?

          History

The RICO Act was created as part of the Organized Crime Control Act of 1970. As a product of two sets of Congressional hearings that took place in the late 1950s and early 1960s, the act’s main focus was on measures that would be prohibitive to gambling organizations. Sponsored by Senator John Little McClellan and drafted by G. Robert Blakey, the Rico Act was signed into law by President Richard Nixon on 15 October 1970.
          Crimes and Punishments

Under the RICO Act, a person can be charged with racketeering — which includes bribery, extortion, illegal drug sales, loan sharking, murder and prostitution — if he or she has committed two of the 27 federal and eight state crimes under U.S. legislation within a 10-year period. The law gives the government the power to criminally prosecute and imprison an organized crime leader even if he or she has never personally committed any of the components of racketeering. This is because he or she is part of a criminal enterprise.

NEW YORK (AP) — Federal authorities have arrested a man they say was plotting to blow up the Federal Reserve building in New York City, just blocks from the World Trade Center site.

Authorities say 21-year-old Quazi Nafis was arrested Wednesday morning after a sting operation that involved the FBI and New York Police Department. The suspect parked a van filled with what he believed were explosives outside the building and tried to detonate it.

But his associates were actually undercover officers who arrested him at the scene — and the bomb was not real.

Federal prosecutors say the man was monitored closely by the FBI in New York and members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the public was never in danger.

      Homestead or Retreat?

To head for the retreat or just homestead, what are we gonna do? Most Survival regulars know their orientation on this subject. I’d like to give a little input on the two places to go if you have to live in interesting times. (An old Chinese curse).

The retreat is a haven or lifeboat where you and those you hold dear can weather out some turmoil which made remaining at your , “home” untenable. It’s the hole in the briar patch where you go until the ill wind blows itself out.

The homestead is where people like myself have staked out where they live, saying to the world, “This is it. I’m not going any further.”

These places can be urban, suburban, rural or remote dependent on your needs and those of your family.

Lots of folks make their living in concrete jungles and because of proximity to the barbarian hordes, need a retreat. Others, like myself, after falling out of the jungle and having the good fortune of landing where I don’t worry about hordes, can live in our retreat all the time, transforming it into a homestead.

      What’s a Homestead?

A homestead is a property that is continuously occupied and has all the comforts of home because that’s what it is. Depending on the awareness or paranoia of the occupants, the homestead might be totally off the grid as far as utility systems go, or the owner operator may have the amenities by being tied to the “system”. Either way, it is a hybrid place which is more in depth and sophisticated than the average home. They have enhanced food and water storage capability. Alternative power systems are in place to work around the loss of the normally used ones. Food production to whatever level the owner feels comfortable with is done there. Homesteads are defensible.

      What’s a retreat?

My definition, the one that counts, is a retreat is a haven or lifeboat where you and those you hold dear can weather out some turmoil which made remaining at your “home” untenable. It’s the hole in the briar patch where you go until the ill wind blows itself out.

But as far as nuts and bolts, what exactly is it? I feel a retreat is a property which has structures that can and do hold all your needs which you can’t bring in during the “retreating” in your vehicle or on your back. Many people who have a run kit and a well defined place or area they plan to run to usually call their retreat the cabin, lodge, summer place, fishing camp, hunting lodge.

…. But they all have several things in common. They are shelter. They have provisions. They are usually off the beaten path. They probably have alternate heating and lighting systems. Their water and sewage systems, as a rule, are not tied into any municipality . Usually a retreat is not occupied at all times and as such has rougher accommodations than a homestead. Retreats are defensible.

Why might you need one over the other?

Most of the metropolitan survivalists I know just gotta have a retreat to run to when the black flag flies. I think its probably due to being packed like rats in the Metro. I’ve got a friend in L. A. who says when you’re packed like rats you act like rats. However true that is, retreats are needed by individuals, families, and groups if and only if IMHO they would not be better served by staying in place. A case in point would be those who by choice or chance live in coastal areas. They, due to climatic and environmental conditions beyond their control, are forced at odd occasions to flee with what they can carry in their vehicles if they are lucky. If not, they get by with the clothes on their backs. If they are lucky. In times of real upheaval they may need a retreat to go to early in the disaster and avoid the thrill of wild eyed hordes clawing their way down the interstate. Other persons live in areas where, should the normal fabric of life be torn, there is no societal glue to keep their homes safe, either due to bad things coming out of containers which no longer hold them or bad people doing the same. A case in point would be those persons living in the chemical manufacturing belt around the Houston area. Lots of very notsogood things are being manufactured there. Or those poor souls who live in the Los Angeles basin. Lots of people with a low respect of the rule of law in LA LA land. These may not be totally accurate, but they fit the model of what situations I would think I needed to run from.

Homesteading is for those who are better off staying put. The usual model most people think of is the back to the land tree hugger types who live in log cabins or adobe houses out in the middle of nowhere . In reality homesteading survivalists live in fairly secure areas. There are those who live in Metros, but due to geography or demographics or both have the best of both worlds. They are secure in their persons and property, but didn’t have to go 40 miles down a gravel road to get there. An example would be those persons who live in the Red River Valley of north Texas. They are, for the most part, tied into city water and power and some of them sewer, yet they are within spitting distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. They know their neighbors and the neighborhood. Many sit on 5 to 20 acres and would be easily sustainable in times of flux. Survivalists such as these live on gold mines and don’t even know it. They seem to want to RUN. Other homesteaders live in small towns and just fit into the community they live in. They are well networked and don’t “act” like survivalists. But their homestead is never the less a homestead.

So, distilled, here’s the deal. If you know in your heart of hearts you and yours will not be viable at home in a moderate to long term disaster scenario, then you’re probably a retreater. If, on the other hand, you know, “I got no place else to go” and I’m better off staying here cause I’ll live longer. Then guess what, you’re probably a homesteader.

Lastly, don’t be so stuck in your paradigm. You are blinded to the need to have flexibility. You might find the retreat you had planned to occupy for a month ended up being your permanent domicile after the other one was razed by looters. Or, your homestead was overrun and those retreaters you laughed about became you as you headed to the barn and well house which sat upon the investment acreage you bought with the microsnot money you pulled out of the market prior to the depression of ’06. Just follow the 6 “P’s” and you’ll never go wrong.

      How do you Cook Grains?

I have always wondered about cooking grains. After all, I have many hundreds of pounds stored away and yet I have no clear idea how to cook these grains. Yes I have all kinds of cook books and storage program material but most of these make the presumption that I have always known how to cook grains. So I decided to do some research and put together a handy little table showing cooking amounts, time etc.

I hope the table is as helpful for your storage program as it was for mine.

Grain Amount Uncooked Amount of liquid Cooking Time Yield
      Amaranth 1 cup 3 cups 25-30 min. 2 1/2 cups
      Barley 1 cup 4 cups 30-40 min. 4 cups
      Buckwheat 1 cup 2 -5 cups 20 min. 3 cups
      Bulgur 1 cup 2 cups 15 min 2 1/2 cups
      Cornmeal 1 cup 4 – 5 cups 30-40 min 4 -5 cups
      Kamut 1 cup 3 -4 cups 1 hour 2 1/2 cups
      Millet 1 cup 4 cups 25-30 min 4 cups
      Oats 1 cup 3 cups 30-40 min 3 1/2 cups
      Oatmeal 1 cup 2 cups 10 min 4 cups
      Rice (Brown) 1 cup 2 – 2 1/2 cups 35-40 min 2 1/2 cups
      Rye 1 cup 4 cups 1 hour 2 2/3 cups
      Triticale 1 cup 4 cups 1 hour 2 1/2 cups
      Wheat Berries 1 cup 3 – 4 cups 1 hour 2 1/2 cups
      Wheat Cracked 1 cup 2 cups 25 min. 2 1/3 cups
      Wild Rice 1 cup 4 cups 40 min 3 – 3 1/2 cups

First of all, you should rinse all raw grain in cold water and drain. Using the formula shown in the table bring the liquid to a boil.

Add grain and stir. Bring liquid back to boil, then cover and reduce heat to lowest setting possible. Cook until soft. (See table for estimated times.) Cooking times are approximate, some people like their cooked grains a little more firmer than others. Liquid may be water, but if you use meat or vegetable stock, juice or milk; you will improve the flavor tremendously. The more flavorful the liquid, the more flavorful the grain. The more flavorful the grain the more likely that your children and elderly will find it tasty and filling. Remember that storage food does not have to be a dull experience. You may even find that it becomes a popular item at your dinner table. Lastly, folks are confused at times about pilaf grains. Pilaf is just another method of preparing the grain. Pilaf adds some unique flavor varieties and potential for a limited storage program. To Pilaf a grain all you do is; sauté the grain with minced onion in oil and then add twice as much liquid as grain; cover and cook over medium-low heat until the liquid is completely absorbed, by this time the grain will be very tender. Cooking time is as listed in the table. Brown rice, bulgur, barley, millet and wild rice are grains that are great pilafed, however you can pilaf any grain you want.

First of all, you should always rinse legumes in cold water and drain.

Traditionally, legumes are soaked overnight and then cooked.

However, you can bring the water to a boil, drop legumes into pot slowly so boiling does not stop. When legumes are in pot, lower heat, cover and simmer till they are soft. This method usually saves 1/2 to 1 hour cooking time. Legumes in an unsealed pot need to be stirred occasionally and more water may need to be added to the pot part way through the cooking. Do not add salt until nearly done, as it may retard softening process. Cooking times are approximate, some people like their cooked beans a little more firmer than others.

      Trail and Camp Recipes

These are tried and true Recipes I have used for years. The very last one is my personal favorite for soothing that sweet tooth.

      Gorp

Gorp is a high energy, high calorie mixture that can be put into individual bags. It is handy in this fashion to eat as you walk along.

Use equal amounts of any five or more of the following ingredients:

Nuts– peanuts, cashews, walnuts or pecans.

Dried fruits –apricots, currants, raisins, apples, figs, dates plums, or pineapple. (Chop into bite size pieces)

Seeds– unsalted sunflower, pumpkin or sesame.

Grains or Cereals– rolled oats, puffed rice or wheat.

Sweeteners– M&M candies, carob, chocolate, or butterscotch morsels. Shredded coconut is also good.

I have found that some folks like to let the chocolate melt through the mix and bind it together. An easy to do this is to place the packets is an outside pocket of your backpack and let the sun do the work for you.

The following is one of my favorite blends:

1 cup mixed M&M candies (plain and peanut) 1 cup pecans (chopped)

      1 cup currants

      1 cup chopped dries apples

      1 cup unsalted sunflower seeds

      1/2 cup rolled oats

      1/2 cup shredded coconut

Mix together in a large bowl and put into single serving plastic bags. Use either 1/2 or 1 cup per bag depending on the appetite.

      Wet Trail Mix

Mix all dry ingredients except the coconut and sunflower seeds in a large bowl. Melt the peanut – butter and honey in a saucepan. Stir in sunflower seeds. Quickly remove from heat and mix into dry ingredients, adding the coconut last. roll into balls. Individually wrap when completely cool.

      * Any finely chopped nut can be substituted.

      Basic Granola

Mix well and spread onto cookie sheets. stir the mix often until it is golden brown. remove from oven and stir until cooled. Granola stores best in sealed containers.

      * Any favorite fruit or nut can be substituted.

      Basic Cornpone

      2 CUPS SELF RISING CORNMEAL

      2 TBL. SUGAR

      1/2 TSP SALT

Mix dry ingredients together well. Store in a heavy duty. zip lock bag. When you are ready to cook, add 1 cup of boiling water to the bag and mix well. Next grease a skillet with bacon grease or oil and preheat. Now form your mix into 3/4 inch thick cakes. Fry them over medium heat turning them when the bottom is a rich brown.

      Bannock

Without kneading the mix too much» form into an inch thick cake and place it in the skillet. Turn when bottom is brown. Allow your bannock to finish cooking with the pan tilted so that the top receives heat as well as the bottom. Stick with a small stick or toothpick to see if its done. For a treat sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.

Note: the dry mix will store for long periods of time in a well sealed bag.

      Camper’s Hamburger Skillet Special

      1 lb. lean ground beef

1 can cream of mushroom soup

      1 medium onion (chopped)

      1 can mixed vegetables

      1 cup small elbow macaroni

      salt. pepper and garlic powder

Place macaroni into 3 cups of boiling water with a dash of salt and boil until tender. While the elbows are cooking. brown the ground beef in a large skillet with the chopped onion. Add spices to taste. When browned. add soup and vegetables. Drain the macaroni and add to the skillet. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. For added flavor add grated cheese and a pinch of sweet basil. Serves four to six people depending on the size of their appetites.

      Roasted Corn on the Cob

Take pre-cleaned corn ears and brush with butter. Wrap Tightly with foil and roast on coals for 15-20 minutes, turning now and then. Remove and salt and pepper to taste. Serving size: One ear per person.

Another method is to roast the corn in the husk. To do this pull the husk back enough to clean the corn. Do not tear it free though. After cleaning pull the husk back up and soak the whole ear in water for 15 minutes. Place ears on a hot rock near the coals not directly on the coals. Cook for 15 – 20 minutes. Remove add butter, salt and pepper to taste.

Coal Baked Potatoes (plain or sweet)

Scrub outside well and then pierce with a fork several times. Wrap in foil and place in coals. Bake for 35-45 minutes depending on size. Test by sticking with a fork or by squeezing with a gloved hand.

      Baked Apples

Wash and core one large apple for each serving desired. Then place each on a large square of aluminum foil. Into the hole of each apple sprinkle 2 tsps. of brown sugar and a little cinnamon. Then add a pat of butter. Wrap each apple securely by bringing the foil up the sides and twisting at the top. Place into a good bed of coals and bake for 40 minutes. Test with a fork for tenderness.

      Dream Bananas

This is one of my personal favorites.

Split a whole unpeeled banana down the middle length wise. Try not to cut through the peel on the bottom side. Fill the cut with Kraft caramels and chips of butter. Wrap in foil and bake in a hot bed of coals for about 5-10 minutes or until the filling has melted. Eat with a spoon right from the peel.

He was serious and with the amount of guns/hunters in our state, things could get messy.

Don’t sweat the Union guys. They lost jobs for three decades and still can’t figure out that that their buddy Bill Clinton screwed them royally with NAFTA and China Free Trade. It’s bravado BS over shots of Jack Daniels and beer at the local bar. They’re not criminals to begin with so extreme violence is not in their nature. They’re working people with something to loose with a wife and kids. Most have never been in any more trouble than a possible DWI.

The brothers are a different story, being arrested is in many cases just a right of passage. They’re quite liable to take a Romney victory Obama loss very personal.

Remove the Romney bumper sticker if he wins.

Kevin2: I think you miss the point. It aint that white liberal union guys will start anything.

It is that white liberals in General, and especially unionists, are likely to actually Side With them “Brothers”.

Many whites will Gladly join forces with africans or mexican illeagles etc to wipe out their Own white kind.

They will do this to Prove to blacks, and their white-dem group-Think imbecills, that they themselves are NOT racists.

Them type whites just may become a worse threat to patroit whites, than any other “colors” groups.

Much more difficult to detect at times also perhaps.

Most everyone I grew up around was/is white dem lib union types. Believe you me, you will Never convince Any of em to change minds. Nor to admit They are and always were wrong on most everything they spew or tout.

I believe without any doubts, “If” any race type conflict arises, even if begun by NON-whites, the dem lib union whiteys Will be happy at the chance to finally Prove Non-racistness to what They percieve to be the Exact Same except skin color “others”.

Only After dem lib whites get Turned on, by violent colored folks, will they finally see it was a huge mistake of wrong placed trust and beliefs.

The rest of whiteys(us) will be Long gone and unavailable to assist them libs. Too bad…Its the way it is though, and we never will change it.

Personally I quit trying aprox. 15+ yrs ago when I moved up north and away from detroit-libs-dems-stupid whiteys, and of course ever present violent african masses.

In all honesty, I probobly Dispise such whites more than the violent blacks and browns. Cant admit when wrong is totally Despicable in my eyes. Thats main cause or reason lib dem whites are this way..Pure Stuborness.

They will pay for it when shtf too I rekon. When their black pals turn on them like pak of wolves or pit bulls.

Any good type blacks etc will already be with us, or on the way to be. All whats left will be Loyal to Black/same kind Only, regardless What dem liberal whites think or do.

I can see them now “Whiteys libs reach out as in, we are the world songs….While rabidly violent blacks attacks from all sides”..

A small Few lib dem whiteys somehow makes it to Our areas. Barely alive…..Still refuseing to admit “We was right all along”!!…Some stuf never changes I guess.

At the end of the article was a post from “stanley”. Here is part of his post:

“This is a VERY GOOD ARTICLE, except it left out ONE VERY IMPORTANT FACT. It has to happen now because, the powers that created the Central Bank in 1913, also created the IRS and Income tax the same year to pay the interest on this credit and money printing. Moreover, the lease on the Federal Reserve act WAS ONLY FOR 99 YEARS. Do the math, 1913 and 2012. It’s been 99 years so the Federal Reserve Act expires this year 2012. So ALL THE DEBT (Gov’t social programs, Defense, wars, Foreclosure meltdown and fiasco. is all deliberate. This is EXACTLY why Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernanke DON’T want Glass Steagle Act, they don’t want any regulation so they can manipulate and allow the ponzi scheme and reckless gambling with tax payer bailout. So they can continue to create such losses as to say U.S. is Bankrupt)…..”

This is the first I have heard that the Federal Reserve Act expires this year. Care to expand on it? What can be expected?
      Thanks.

The Basics of Stocking a Retreat For One Year

Remember the movie Red Dawn? Think about when Colonel Tanner said: “You think you’re tough for eating beans every day? The scarecrows in Denver would give anything for a taste of what you got. They’ve been under siege for about three months. They live on rats and on sawdust and sometimes… on each other. At night, the pyres for the dead light up the sky. It’s medieval.” Do you have a plan set up to keep you and your family from become scare crows? I mean a realistic plan that you are working on every payday?

A good friend once told me. My place is going to have one foot thick concrete walls, solar, wind, and a positive air system to filter out all nuclear, biological, chemical attacks. Solid steel doors and steel shutters. That is all fine and good but do you have the $100,000 to build it? Ah no? It is far better to have a 12×12 hunting camp with a hand pump well, kerosene lights, a wood stove, and a propane cookstove than a dream retreat that never got built. Start with the basic stuff first the Five Bs: Building, bullets, beans, bacon, and buckshot.

What is a year supply of food for 1 person?

      13-6 Gal Super Pail Buckets

      3- Hard Red Wheat
      1-Pinto Beans
      2-Hard White Wheat
      3-White Rice
      1-Small White Beans
      1-Black Beans
      1-Instant Milk
      1-Quick Rolled Oats

      6-#10 Cans
      1 can Shortening Powder
      1 can Baking Soda
      1 can Baking Powder
      1 can Iodized Salt
      2 cans Sugar

      #2.5 Cans and Misc.
      1 can Beef Bouillon
      1 can Chicken Bouillon
      3 Pkg Yeast
      1 Lid Remover

2225 Calories and 94 Grams of protein per day for one year.

Guess you going to have to pack it yourself. But this to give you an idea what you need for food per person for 1 year.

An apartment size propane cookstove with a small oven is very efficient. Normal everyday usage is from 2 to 5 gallons a month. Five gallons of propane is commonly called a 20 pound cylinder. You can get two 25 gallon cylinders (100 pound) and hook up with automatic switch over when the first tank is empty it switches to the full tank. Hook up to a propane stove and you have one year supply of cooking for a family of four. This is just an estimate–your results may vary. Now this is not a camp stove but a regular looking small apartment size propane kitchen stove.

What about light for a year? If you use a Dietz lantern for light and use it 4 hours each night you will need how many gallons a year? 26 hours per fill up on I believe is 22 ounces, 128 ounces in a gallon, one gallon will give 150.8 hours of light or 37.7 days per gallon. A little less then 10 gallons of lamp oil or kerosene per year. Plus extra wicks and at least one spare globe. You can burn kerosene it is cheaper then lamp oil but it smells. Make sure you test it before depending on it. That means kill the lights for 1 hour and burn it and see if you can handle the smell. Highly refine kerosene sold in stores will not give off the bad smell that heating kerosene does. Please be careful with a lit flame in your house around children, pets and anything flammable.

The most important thing to have on your property beside owning it free and clear is a drilled well. Hauling water is for the birds. I have advised many people it’s better to own five acres with a well than forty acres without one. Water is vital and after the first few days of hauling water more then ten feet it become old, tiring, and a dreaded chore. They say each person uses seventy gallons a day that includes, cooking, drinking, flushing the toilet, and showers. You can get by with ten gallons a day pretty good except when you wash clothes. A solar shower sold in camping supply stores are a great thing to have. Fill it in the morning place where the sun can reach it and you have a hot shower.

A drain field for most states requirement for a drain field for even a small cabin is a ridiculous price ranging from $6,000 to $20,000 to meet new strict codes. Before you buy property make sure you find out the cost. Normal problems are typically found in the blue states with too many bureaucrats. Some states are so strict they will not allow National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) approved composting toilets. That is a clear indication it is time to vote with your feet and move to a red state. If you can use a basic composting toilet, a sink, a shower drain hooked to a small drain field. It works great.

If you do have a well on your property there are lots of ways to get water from windmills, hand pumps and solar power pumps. Water is a requirement that you need every single day. So, the first thing you need on any property is a well.

Are you heating with wood? How much wood do you need to get through a winter? Depends on the size of the building, how well insulated, where you live and how efficient your stove is. Cheap $100 wood stoves are for the birds. Get a better airtight stove. Buy the better thicker pipe, buy the cleaning rods and brush, if you have a chimney fire how do you put it out. There is a couple of ways you can set up a chimney cab that slams shuts on the top. This cuts off the vent and air or another way is they sell a item that looks like a road flare you can toss in your wood stove that is suppose to put it out. I have not tested either. But have cleaned my pipes and chimney every year. I don’t burn pine or fir or cedar. If you do burn soft resinous wood like pine I recommend you clean your chimney once a month. Another safely precaution is a metal roof it might just save your house from burning to the ground if you ever do have a chimney fire. If you have never had a chimney fire they say it sounds like a tornado shooting up the chimney and flames shooting straight up 4-5 feet or more. Normally they happen in the coldest nasty weather because people really fire up the stove then. Might just ruin your whole winter to watch your retreat burn to the ground. Hopefully you have smoke detectors and everyone made it out safe. Be careful wood stoves can be dangerous.

Get a good chain saw like a Husqvarna 141. They are good on gas not too heavy and very reliable. Extra chains, spare bar, spark plugs, pull cord, sharpening files at least 6, and air filters. Maybe a spare electronic ignition brain. You will need 5 gallons of chain and bar oil, or in an emergency you can use used motor oil. 10 gallons of gas per year and enough 2 cycle mixing oil for the gas. Now how are you going to haul the wood back to the cabin? A 2 wheel cart is one way. Splitting mauls make sure you buy them with fiberglass or steel handles. Axes with fiberglass handles same with rakes and shovels use fiberglass handles. You are going to need safety goggles and plenty of leather work gloves. Cutting down standing trees is dangerous if you never handled a chain saw before it might be a good idea to go out with a trusted friend and have him teach you the safe use of dropping trees and chain saw use.

Okay, so far we have talked about a small hunting camp with a metal roof heated with wood, a propane cooking stove for summer cooking, a well, compost toilet with a small drain field for sink and shower, good tools, etc. Now what else? Just the basics of what you will need. A .22 rifle with a good scope and 1000 rounds of ammo, a 12 gauge pump shotgun–I prefer the Remington 870–with assorted shells: slugs, buckshot and bird shot, a good hunting rifle, at least a .308 with a good Leopold scope and 160 rounds for it.

Now what else? gill nets, four dozen assorted snares , extra matches, good flints, traps, garden seeds, a way to can or dry and store food. Flashlights, in 9 volts like the PAL Light which is great because it is has a always on feature that last two years on one battery. The solar yard lights are fairly cheap come with AA Batteries that can be put in to use in other flashlights. Or remove the batteries at dusk place back in the day and recharge again. Lots to do with that idea. Use your head. Having a working flashlight 6 months into a real emergency is God sent. Worst comes to worst you can use them inside for your night lights.

A year supply of food. A good basic storage assortment with just the essentials and don’t forget a wheat grinder so you can grind flour. This is written for a single person or small family that would want to live at their deer camp for one year. I am not even getting into retreat defense or other assorted guns and the amount of ammo required for that.

First aid. Don’t forget spare eye glasses, chap stick, Vaseline, prescription medicine, super glue, tweezers, Advil, aspirin, assorted Band-Aids, gauze, wraps, antiseptic, etcetera. Make the kit according to your family needs.

Make sure you cover the basic needs first. What good is 12,000 rounds of ammo, two battle rifles, BDUs, one flashlight, and one case of MREs after the first week? You must have a full plan to survive. Providing for just one year takes some serious dedication to reach that level. A couple of decks of cards, pens, papers, small note books, the list can go on and on and on. You have to be well rounded. Can you skin a buck, run a trap line, drop a tree with a chain saw, plant a garden, protect your garden, preserve your food? Do you have dogs? Do you have enough stored food for them? How about pest control, mice traps, squirrels, rabbits, coons, ground hogs, can sure tear up a garden do you have traps for them? Think it through: Chipmunks, gophers, garden pest, and bug control. Mosquito netting is the best thing you can buy if you plan on being outdoors.

Sit down and try to put a list together for one year of supplies. You know just the basics like where are you going to get water every day. How are you going to cook? How do you heat in the winter? Have you ever tried to chop a years supply of wood? Do you have children? What kind of medicine will you need for them in 1 year? What kind of non power games do you have for them to do? Does you wife sew or crotchet? Do you have some supplies like that put away. A knitted wool hat or mittens sure would be nice if you didn’t have them when you left. How about washing clothes? One way that works ok is to take 5-6 gallon buckets and cut a small hole in the center of the lid just big enough for a toilet plunger. Fill 3/4 ways with water add soap (you did remember laundry soap for a year right?) add clothes for about one person pants, shirt t-shirt, under wear and socks, plunged for 1 minute let soak for 5 minutes plunge again for 10 seconds. Dump out water, fill with fresh water again plunge for 1 minute dump out, fill again with clean water plunge for 1 minute dump out. Hand wring the clothes, hang out to dry or hang near wood stove in the winter to dry. Again be careful you don’t allow clothes to get to close to the wood stove or you have a fire hazard.

You did put away enough toilet paper for a year, right? You also protected this toilet paper with traps or poison so the mice and chipmunks didn’t chew it all, up right? How about feminine products for a year. What about yeast infections? I know not the most pleasant thing to talk about but a must if you are seriously planning to survive. I talked to an old timer once that grew up in the Depression and I asked him what did you use for toilet paper his words “Last year Sears and Roebuck catalog, oh and by the way I sold all my furs to them too.” What would be a good catalog today? How about some thick old city telephone books, might be a good choice to store away for back up toilet paper.

I did this the old fashioned way through hard knocks. Trust me, the first time you have to haul water for 100 yards you will wish you spent the money for a well. When your Coleman lantern runs out of fuel or breaks, you will wish you had a Dietz lantern back up. When your splitting maul wooden handle breaks you will wish you had spent the extra money for fiberglass. When your ammunition is damp and unreliable you will wish you’d spent the $5.00 each for used ammo cans. Trust me, I learned these all the hard way and still had the luxury of running to store for replacement supplies. When I say I tested everything that is what I mean and along the way I had several lessons learn the hard way. Having a fully stocked retreat is a comfort. Having tested everything yourself it gives you experience and know how. A few lesson learned.

Learn to snare with professional grade snares as a priority survival skills. Tell the truth I wish I would have started snaring when I was 10. Good scope are worth every penny Leopold’s I recommend. Don’t panic react. If you are working on a plan to survive when something happen activate the plan. In studies of emergency how people react can mean the difference between life and earth. Having been through extensive Military training I learned an important lesson your mind and body will react by how it has been trained. If you have no training on emergency you can’t really say how you will react. So practice your plan.

Lots to think about. You will be glad that you put up a year supply of food, it sure will make a welcome sight every morning instead of surviving like scare crows eating sawdust and rats, that is brown rats not the good tasting marsh rabbit–what most folks call muskrats. :-) . When you have water, heat, a cook stove, and roof over your head life will seem pretty good. Lots to do when you sit down and really look at what it takes to survive with just the basics for one year. Don’t waste your time worrying, get to work. After you take care of the basics then you can move forward with more advanced plans. -

But what happens if we have an external nuclear or EMP attack? What happens if we have a hyperinflationary economic collapse that leaves the entire country in shambles and starvation-driven riots? What happens if we engage Iran in an all-out war and Russia jumps-in???

What if race riots, civil war, territorial encroachment in the south, actual foreign (or domestic) terror attacks or other inevitable calamities leave 20 or more major U.S. cities burning or in a state of anarchy???

Y’all really think the government will be able to deploy all of this technology and human capital to keep us sheep in the pasture the way that it is able to now???

The southern section of the Australian plate just had another earthquake, 5.7 south of Tasmania, Australia. It is looking like the northern most section on the Australian plate could be ready to get hit also. I would like to add India and the Kashmir area to possible target zones for a very big earthquake. The Australian plate migrates almost directly north and northeast towards India and rides over the Asia plate and causes the tallest mountains in the world, the Himalayas. The Australian plate influnces also how the Pacific plate behaves. Depending on the location of the big earthquake, this could affect the west coast of the U.S.

I still see the Soloman Islands over to Tahiti as the best chance. The Kermandec Islands looked very primed. Have another earthquake between the one yesterday that happened on the Mid-Indian Ridge, and the one today west of Macquarie Island, that is at least 5.5, and I would give within 72 hours a very large earthquake will occur. Likely with a decent sized tsunami. Movement along the southern ridge of the Australian plate usually means something big, this much movement means the plate is really on the move which means big earthquakes to follow.

While I agree he is being abused and retaliated against, there is more to the story than him being a ‘prepper’.
He is probably being punished because of his very vocal criticisms of the NDAA, as well as a few other things.
“He is a former talk-show host of a small, local radio station known for its ‘patriotic bias.’ He is a member of ‘Patriots for America’ and the Mississippi Preparedness Project. He is openly vocal about the erosion of our rights – and it certainly looks like he has been proven correct. Is that now a crime worthy of being denied the ability to travel freely within the United States?” Hagmann writes.”

is anyone really surprized at this given everything that has transpired and the rate at which it has in this nation over the last 10+ years..?? i’m not… get your prepping done, kids… do it now, do it fast, do it as broadly as possible; think about it, read about it, use cash to do it but do it… time is quick approaching when even prepping will become a high level issue to “detain” large numbers of us over… this is but another “soft probe”(V-N vets will understand the term) to gauge reactions… giterdun is all i can say…

I’m making copies of every online article I find to be do’able if it relates to: food storage, alternate means of food prep, camp cooking, medical care, domestic animal care, organic insecticides for gardening, blacksmithing etc.

Iv’e found http://www.betterworldbooks.com to be an excellent resource for used books on a variety of relevant topics at an inexpensive price, and free shipping.

One thing that I haven’t noticed on storage list is a tube of the emergency dental filling. Iv’e seen superglue for use as a skin adhesive, but in a pinch it can hold a dental crown in place as well.

If you are a prepper, do not put any NRA, Gadsden stickers or anything that will draw attention to yoursself.

I’m over 50 years old, never had a ticket, never have been pulled over until a friend of mine made me a sticker that simply said “Don’t tread on Me”. The day I placed this sticker on my truck, I was pulled over and for the next 2 weeks I was pulled over a total of 6 times until I removed the sticker and was never bothered again.

Be a prepper, stock Guns and Ammo, but keep it to yourself and no matter how well you know someone, trust but verify.

Interesting comments. To those who state they do not have to fly – this is not the issue. The issue is that this individual was prevented from flying for no good reason. I fully understand that post 9/11 we must be more vigilant, but at what cost? Is all this security worth our freedom? Being a prepper is complying with the suggestions and recommendations of FEMA. How then can a prepper be also deemed to be an enemy of our country? The size of the no-fly list suggests that there are many individual placed on this list who might not be main-stream, but who are certainly no threat to anyone. For this very reason I have mentioned countless times, be careful what you are posting as you do not know who all reads these posts. Why make yourself as target? I discuss with very few my prepping activities. All this reminds me a bit of East Germany where 1/2 of the population watched the other ½ of the population. It starts with the various Block Clubs in cities. Your neighbor being too interested in what you keep in your garage and your mail man commenting on all the mail you are receiving from all over the world. I hope the day will not come when our paranoia will make us lose the rest of our freedoms. Yes, we should be observant and report questionable activities to the authorities, but I think we have already gone too far with some of our vigilance. We have 1st and 2nd Amendment Rights, but we better be careful of how we exercise these rights as they could make us a target. For individuals like myself who need to travel, not for pleasure, but business, I have no desire to be placed on any list for any reason. Accordingly, the only recourse I have is to limit whatever activities could be viewed as suspicious, even though they are legal. I miss the innocence we lost due to 9/11.

“Someone missing fingers on their hands is a suspect according to the Department of Justice.”

I guess those gov guys don’t know anyone who runs a band saw for a living. Most of them have lost at least 1 finger to their occupation, if not more.

      “Someone who has guns”

Yeah? Like the Founding Fathers of this nation?

“someone who has ammunition that is weatherproofed”

Guess that they don’t hunt in the rain or use a boat to get to their hunting area.

“someone who has more than seven days of food in their house can be considered a potential terrorist”

Which is EXACTLY what FEMA says we all should have!

Something tells me that the government is not hiring anyone with an IQ above room temp these days.
