Shock Report: US “Confirms” North Korea Has ICBM-Ready Nuclear Warheads

    icbm-nuclear

First thing this morning we reported that according to a 500-page report by the Japanese Defense Ministry, North Korea may now be in possession of a miniature nuclear warhead. That said, the report did not move the market because the Japanese report was largely inconclusive and did not claim with certainty that this is the case.

Now, moments ago, the exact same narrative escalated when the WaPo echoed what Japan said, only it now “confirms” that North Korea has successfully produced a miniaturized nuclear warhead that can fit inside its missiles, “crossing a key threshold on the path to becoming a full-fledged nuclear power, U.S. intelligence officials have concluded in a confidential assessment.”

As the WaPo adds, the analysis completed last month by the Defense Intelligence Agency comes on the heels of another intelligence assessment that sharply raises the official estimate for the total number of bombs in the communist country’s atomic arsenal.

“The IC [intelligence community] assesses North Korea has produced nuclear weapons for ballistic missile delivery, to include delivery by ICBM-class missiles,” the assessment states, in an excerpt read to The Washington Post. The assessment’s broad conclusions were verified by two U.S. officials familiar with the document. It is not yet known whether the reclusive regime has successfully tested the smaller design, although North Korean officially last year claimed to have done so.

Of course, another vivid instance of “confirmation” of weapons being present, not nuclear so much as of “mass destruction” is the following.

In any case, the U.S. calculated last month that up to 60 nuclear weapons are now controlled by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Some independent experts believe the number of bombs is much smaller.

As Jeff Bezos’ paper of record adds, the findings are likely to deepen concerns about an evolving North Korean military threat that appears to be advancing far more rapidly than many experts had predicted. The “conclusion” will also accelerate US plans, already in place, to intervene “preemptive” in North Korea, just as the neo-con/warhawks in Washington desire, once again binding Trump in the process.

The WaPo report has certainly impacted the market, well the FX market if not the S&P which just keeps rising as CTAs are buying because other CTAs are buying, and the USDJPY has slumped on the news, revealing the latest divergence between it and the S&P.

The same country we are constantly told is primitive.
Ashley Graham is a model because she has a pretty face and the politics work right now. If she is this fat as a 20something. what will she look like when she is 40?
Transexual “girls” are homosexual men who hate being homosexual so much they pretend to be women so they feel better about liking to suck dicks.
In a conventional war with the likes of Russia or China, USA will get it’s ass handed to it. The USN hasn’t come under serious fire in almost 75 years.

      • WhereEaglesDare says:

Why don’t we just drop an EMP on them??

        • Gandhi says:

Well, that would be called “an attack”

        • belales says:

Simply because most of the people already live in primitive like conditions so the loss of power really isn’t going to affect their lives very much.

        • Genius says:

Bye bye Mr. face like a pie

I’ll be sippin on my whiskey and rye

Someone here passed the word that his sources said a month ago, that “SHTF” happens in September. That’s looking more likely every day.

          Keep stacking and packing. 🙁

Might be a good time for last minute preps at the stores while you still can.

If you’ve not ever started, well, sorry for your cause.

Still time to prep your souls. A little knee mail will get the job done.

It really is playing out like Iraq. Same dialog. Same feeling about the whole thing.

    2. blackjack says:

Can they take out a city or two? Maybe. Could we turn the whole country into a glass factory? Yes.

    3. Sailing Jim says:

Does this mean we should expect Rex Tillerson to give a presentation about this infront of the UN pretty soon?

Hmmmm I do believe we’ve seen this playbook opened before, sad we have forgotten how it turns out already.

    4. The NWO is chomping at the bit. Both CNN and FOX are running non-stop coverage of the North Korean nonsense. They can’t hit us. They have minimum capability. They can destroy South Korea. They can hurt Japan. The NWO order has destroyed Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen. The NWO has chosen North Korea as the next globalist victim. Then Iran. Then Russia. If Russia, Iran and China sit by and watch this, they’re screwed. Has anyone considered that China and Russia are letting the US spend her last financial resources on this? How many wars can we afford? A trillion here, a trillion there, pretty soon we’re talking real money. Something is rotten in Denmark.

      • TEST says:

I also don’t like the NWO. But if Kim really does have the goods (bads?) do we let him threaten the US? What if he feels his days are numbered, and MAD then doesn’t apply, as he is already out the door? Do you want to gamble a dozen major cities? How about YOUR town, YOUR kids? On what basis do you tell us the have “minimum” capability? No, we don’t want the globalists to take over, but IMHO, you are conflating that with the very real dangers that do, in fact, exist. Sorry, but respectfully I can’t agree with you on this, although I agree on the NWO piece in general

        • TPTB “guarantee” they have “proof.” Yeah, right. Regardless, all they want is to bring more fear so we will give up more freedom. They have never taken freedom from us, instead they get citizens to surrender their freedoms for more protection. This is no more than a skit taking place on the world stage.

      • WhereEaglesDare says:

        Iran seems still intact.

      • DinDoNuffin says:

China’s retialitory attack will be financial. Dumping treasuries will hurt them, but they think they can weather the storm better than USA. USA can fight for a while by using up inventory and the SPR, but we won’t last long, and will be economically wrecked. You’re a fool if you think anybody but the inner circle will see a drop of the SPR.

    5. Concerned-Citizen! says:

I do not see this ending well at all, period.

    6. The best outcome (although highly unlikely), is to have NK pre-empt a nuclear strike on the US (confirmed), and then have those incoming ICBMs taken out by interceptors.
Followed by a strategic nuclear strike on NK, resulting in complete obliteration…..with only a few thousand casualties in SK by residual surviving artillery.
The most likely scenario is the obliteration of several American & Japanese Cities by submarine launched nukes, and an EMP hit on the American power grid. The result for NK would be complete obliteration…..BUT, Armageddon for U.S. as well.!!!!!

    7. PO'd Patriot says:

Did you feel the shock? I know I felt it!

    8. Kevin2 says:

The US surrounded Russia with anti ballistic missiles. Either they work or MIC sold the government crap. Its use against a Russian attack is moot because if they work or fail the destruction would be such that a lawsuit over a defective product would never occur. On the other hand a missile, singular or very few, fired from NK getting through an ABM defense would result in a questioning of all military items.

Either the US can or cannot swat a NK ICBM out of the sky. If it can their threat is moot. If they can’t we’re buying defective merchandise. If the ABM capability works why wouldn’t it be deployed around NK? Why is this question not asked by the MSM?

    9. Fatty says:

If you dont got it, get it.

    10. All nukes, regardless their source, could be made 90% less lethal quick as the affected populations had learnt beforehand what to do & not do.

Google GoodNewsNuke for the proof of it from ‘Physicians for Civil Defense’ and the specific how to’s.

      • Kevin2 says:

        shane

What do you do with a 15 minimum maximum warning? It would take a few minutes just to determine if its authentic a longer delay to broadcast the message. If you had a 5 minute heads up you would be lucky.

The destruction of infrastructure and “brain drain” in the loss of medical knowledge and facilities, institutions of higher learning like MIT, power plants, oil refineries, roads, bridges and the like puts us into the pre industrial age. Add in a highly likely follow up viral/bio attack and you have hell on earth.

        • Kevin2,
The aftermath is a different story, nobody knows or can say how many and how close to say for sure how bad things will be in any particular area. Certainly, if you had not prepped,it’ll be much worse.

I’m just talking about how to first survive the effects of the nuke, the blast and then fallout. And, while a warning would be great, it assumes no warning, just knowing beforehand to do the rights things starting from the instant of the first flash. Most won’t and most will perish needlessly for lack of simple to grasp and employ strategy.

    11. Neal Jensen says:

I guess we run out of them fancy tomahawk smarter than NORKS cruise missiles that can only find chemical weapons depots in the Middle East…..or they can’t target the ICBMs NOW because of vagina…..Which is it?

    12. crappenstix says:

Some of those trainees in boot camp are having an “Oh, Shit” moment right now.
As in, “my timing really sucks”. Indeed.

    13. Heartless says:

Cool Beans!!! This ought to end well. Getting close to playing glow-in-the-dark games chilluns. Reminds me of an old song: War – Edwin Starr

      ht tps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpWmlRNfLck

“….They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But lord knows there’s got to be a better way…”

    14. JollyRoger says:

The whole NK nuke plan has never had anything to do with nuking New York or any city.

The entire plan as far as the US is concerned is 2 part.

1 EMP the mainland US, Congressional studies show its likely 98%+ lethal in one year with 50% casualties in first couple months at best. So thats 150,000,000+ dead in first months and the remaining 150,000,000+ to die in year 1. They have had this nuke for over 2 years.

2 Destroy US assets and allies to avoid retaliation. Naval forces, South Korea, Military bases, Hi & Alaska, Puerto Rico et cetera

The only reason we are still alive is they have yet to produce enough missiles to avoid retaliation and they really need sub or space based weapons to avoid preemptive attacks.

For those of you that think we must have a defense system against the ICBMs you are wrong it is not nearly effective enough, especially to intercept a near-space EMP missile… or satellite

Prep as NK and soon Iran will be the greatest foe in the history of the world and both are insane.

    15. crappenstix says:

I suppose if its over fast enough they have nothing to worry about.

    16. Shock Report: US “Confirms” North Korea Has ICBM-Ready Nuclear Warheads

Is this the same IC (intelligence community) that said Saddam had Weapons Of Mass Destruction?

Is this the same IC that said Iran at any moment would possess nuclear warheads and would destroy Israel?

Is this the same IC that said Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda was responsible for 911, yet Osama was never on the FBI’s Most Wanted List prior to that event?

Is this the same IC that said Jihadist hate America because of our FREEDOMS?

      GMAFB!!!

Prepare for a major False-Flag Episode in the near future that will be blamed on North Korea!

Lies & more lies coming from MSM & USGOV.

      • Nailbanger says:

        Yea, the exact same,
Thats what amazes me is how freakin dumb people areo buy the government line of bullshit,
Time to scrub the lot and start from scratch

        • JollyRoger says:

I agree with scrubbing the Gov. however the nukes are not mythical, they have been tested repeatedly. Its a fact.

BTW few also know Saddam had used chemical weapons on his people… they were there, just not when the IC said.

Jihadist hate everyone that is not radical enough in their faith, including other muslims. America just makes an easier target now that they have homeland security and the NSA spying on and hunting vets not jihadis

Bin Laden only real role in 911 was to organize the idiots in the IC enough to carry out the attacks.

100% right there will be false flags vs North Korea but only after the conflict actually starts although the public will see the false flag as the start.

      • NoregretVet says:

Your Right. It’s the same bullshit over and over again… ” Hegelian Dialectic” that took me to Vietnam….it’s the same bullshit lies that took our sons to Iraq…the same lies that have worked forever to get us to war….The saying during my time was ” War is a Great business…..Invest your Son !!! “……And we continue to fall for it !!!

    17. Grizz says:

HMMmmm yah weapons of mass destruction where have we heard this before

    18. Sgt. Dale says:

      I’m Shocked, NOT.
We all knew this was coming so now here it is. Keep up your preps because that is all you can do.

TPTB have wanted something like this for years and now it is on its way!!!!

      Sgt.

    19. ronna says:

Another fear porn article. There is ZERO possibility they know anything about NK capabilities unless the bomb is tested. There have been no miniature bomb tests! They have none!
Keep the USA war machine greased up and ready for the next dictator removal!

      • Jim Sanders says:

If it’s “another fear porn” article, then why don’t you just stop reading it and go away? Really, just go away. What do you contribute except to knock everything here? And who are you?

Another nobody, no better than the rest of us. Except you never have anything to say on issues that are relevant.

How much are your paymasters paying you to disrupt the site? Or are you just another “progressive” that can’t possibly admit ties to the Democrats?

The only thing to fear is if trolls such as yourself are the norm, and not the exception.

Thanks for nothing: nothing to contribute, and nothing but the same old dry whining of a troll.

By the way, did I ask you to go away? I think I did, so how about doing so?

        Bye, Ronna!

    20. anthony barbuto says:

boy, doesn’t any one read history, around here?…Every regime has rattled the “war sabres”….then gone ahead and pursued their real agenda. Italy did it to become unified ( Garribaldi)…Bismark did it to unify Germany. Hitler used a phony assault by Poland to invade them, and start his war against his enemies. Don’t you see that the military industrial complex cartel, are using the nutso N Korean to extract BILLIONS of dollars from our Treasury? Do you really think…I MEAN, REALLY THINK that N Korea can launch a nuke at USA, and get away with it?…Don’t you think every one of his launchers is targeted by usa forces?…As soon as a rocket were launched at usa, don’t you think that we would knock it down? N Korea is a hell of a lot smaller than Russia. IF something was launched from Russia it would be harder to detect. But covering N Korea is a no brainer. The DEEP STATE is excellent at ” misdirection”…Misdirection is used by magicians so you follow one hand while he hides an item from your view, with his other hand, and you have…”magic”!. Its not magic, its mis direction. During the fiasco of the 2016 elections we saw this in full view. Two candidates, knocked each other, rather than discuss the issues. I saw articles knocking Trumps ties, that they were made in Bangladesh…to distract you from the truth that Hilary is a thief liar and as Fox news proved in an interview…” accomplished nothing during her yrs as a Senator from NY”….NOTHING….two Hilary backers were asked, “what accomplishments of Hilary clinton qualify her to be President?”…There was SILENCE, becasue she passed no legislation!!…She had no accomplishments…She accomplished nothing positive while Sec of State…SO…Look at the REALITY…Don’t be misguided by the “SPIN”….YES, N Korea is a threat….but do we really need to spend BILLIONS…TRILLIONS to protect us?…NO…This is all misdirection by the military industrial cartel…Like the Clintons, they are expert at avoiding the issue…the real answers and blowing smoke at us…Don;t sweat N Korea, sweat the fact that the 1%ers are taking all of our money. We need manufacturing again in the USA, we need to get off of oil and into solar….we need to produce solar satellites to export this technology to the world…we need to follow Elon Musks lead …go solar…go Tesla Power Wall….forget oil…forget foreign entanglements in the mid east…Israel does not need any ones help, they are tough monkeys, and can defend themselves…Lets avoid this NK BS…get down to business….lets get America working again….solar..space ( see Dr Zubrins Mars Direct plan)…these things will work and bring prosperity and $$ back to the American people, like the Apollo program employed 400,000 Americans and the USA was admired for getting us to the moon. Lets DEMAND that TRUMP get his act together…”drain the swamp”, get rid of Pelosi and the other thieves ( read the book ” throw them all out”)…Don’t sweat N Korea, its an annoying fly that can easily be swatted. China and India represent the future. They are two billion people. We can trade with them ( sell them our solar tech) and make $$….or continue in debt and become the slaves of the 1%ers…I don’t plan on being any ones slave…how about YOU?

    21. TEST says:

“…may now be in possession of a miniature nuclear warhead.”

Well, I CAN confirm NK is in possession of a miniature, albeit tubby, leader, who has an equally Lilliputian intellect and moral standing.

Our only hope now is to send BFF Dennis Rodman over to negotiate. Last I checked, Kim was offering a first round draft choice, a player to be named later, and cash for Rodman. For me, I would send him over for FREE. And permanently. And oh yeah… send Kim Kartrashian, Smiley Cysleaze, Lady Kaka and Mahdoona over just for good measure.

    22. Ruth Thoden says:

And with proof of North Korea’s nuclear intelligence, WHAT is our
vacationing leader of Armed Forces doing?

Is there no way someone cannot talk an unhappy North Korean group into ridding their country of poor leadership?

    23. Press 9 for English says:

I’m so shocked I tell you, just shocked! “sarcasm’

    24. Press 9 for English says:

I can still remember the Colin Powell dog and pony show to sell the war in Iraq. Different day same old movie.

    25. RVN GRUNT says:

Maybe South Korea should run the US out of their country before the US starts a war that lands squarely on South Korea.

    26. Old Guy says:

Yes and those very same liars also told us about Saddam having weapons of mass destruction. And No WMD’s where ever found.

      • Genius says:

Then why did so many people sign right up to go attack and destroy and occupy iraq and afganistan for no reason?

        • Neal Jensen says:

The propaganda was class a fear porn bullshit and man they… We ate it all up because our brainwashing told us it was the patriotic defensible thing to do…and then after all the blood spilled, we looked in the mirror and acknowledged we were morons as we murdered for the CIAs opium trade routes and oil. That sums it up, we were gullible morons, no wonder we are suiciding at 22 per day among fellow vets. Threw our health or sanity or lives our families away, for what? The shit circus of corruption we have now. What a bargain…retch.

    27. Frank Thoughts says:

They better get it right in one strike because the North Koreans are dug in deeeep. Think about this: the North Koreans have been getting ready for this war since the 1950s. America, on the other hand, has been fighting sand n#ggers for the past 25 years. That’s a big switch in war fighting.

Even if just 10 percent of their forces survive the first strike then they will nail South Korea with that. A land invasion would mean mountain fighting and bunker fighting. In general, Asians are smarter than Arabs. That means they will fight smarter and harder. It will be bloody.

      • Genius says:

Uhhh, why do we need to strike them? Other than pie faces threats they have done 0. Who cares if they have a nuke or two. If we can’t take it out right after launch then what good is our defense that we paid trillions and trillions for? Until they actually DO something just tell them to fuck off…

    28. aljamo says:

The draft being reinstated is always a possibility, still have to register with selective service at a certain age. I read that the first draft for Vietnam was held on December 4 1969 for those to be drafted in 1970. I was number 122 pulled out of the receptacle and was drafted May 18, 1970. The last draft prior to that was in 1942 from what I read. Will the draft be used coming up? Both men and women eligible? Those that refuse to go won’t get the pardon like the Vietnam draftees who fled to Canada.

      • Genius says:

If I was draft age and they tried to draft me I would set up kill zones and take out as many of them that came for me before they got me. Send me to die for your bullshit? I don’t think so Butch!

      • Kevin2 says:

The best thing they could do is to have a draft. Watch the anti war opposition then when snowflake has a vested interest in US foreign policy. Women in combat? Can’t just draft men. Oh my, your 18 year old daughter drafted? The public outcry would be enormous.

They drafted throughout the post WWII period. Many draftees fought in Korea. Elvis was drafted and went to Germany.

        • Anonymous says:

There will never be a draft again. It ended because no body would serve.

        • The Deplorable Braveheart says:

kevin2, uh, would there be enough time to set up for a draft? How many young people do you think would respond to it? How long is boot camp these days? WW3 can take place and we would be destroyed before any draft boards could be set up. I just don’t see the draft taking place in this day and age.

          • Kevin2 says:

            The Deplorable Braveheart

My point isn’t it working but its influence upon US policy. The opposition would be such that every Congressman and US Senator would be ducking for cover and would cast an anti war vote. Only a direct attack upon the US necessitating ground forces could possibly made a draft acceptable. Regardless the US doesn’t have the industrial means to staff a large land force of draft size and modern weapons make it unnecessary.

      • The Deplorable Braveheart says:

Aljamo, I never even signed up for the draft back then. The draft ended in 1976. Never heard a word from anyone about it since then.

Wapo? Since when do we believe these fake news- deep state- freaks? Govt propaganda to go to war! Wapo poopoo

    32. How ignorant do they think the people are to believe them about why we must go to war again. ALL they do is lie so that the Military Industrial Complex can make money, keep and add to the “prestige and power” they garnered on our family members lives by the soldiers “just following orders” and “just doing their jobs” when ordered instead of KNOWING the US Constitution, knowing WHEN and IF a war is LAWFUL.

Sending Americans to fight wars here are ONLY lawful if the Congress declares it.

Thomas Paine on why they created the US Constitution: “Government ought to be as much open to improvement as anything which appertains to man, instead of which it has been monopolized from age to age, by the most ignorant and vicious of the human race. Need we any other proof of their wretched management, than the excess of debts and taxes with which every nation groans, and the quarrels into which they have precipitated the world?”

On the people’s blood and the blood of others, “defense” contractors get rich selling the weapons to all sides.

Remember that the person who serves as a US President is NOT the Commander in Chief UNTIL the Congress declares war or calls up the Militia of the several states. That the federal government may NOT lawfully circumvent the U.S. Constitution by international treaties. It may NOT do by Treaty what it is not permitted to do by the U.S. Constitution.

James Madison: “The power to declare war, including the power of judging the causes of war, is fully and exclusively vested in the legislature … the executive has no right, in any case, to decide the question, whether there is or is not cause for declaring war.”

George Washington: “The constitution vests the power of declaring war in Congress; therefore no offensive expedition of importance can be undertaken until after they shall have deliberated upon the subject and authorized such a measure.”

James Madison: “In time of actual war, great discretionary powers are constantly given to the Executive Magistrate. Constant apprehension of War, has the same tendency to render the head too large for the body. A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defence against foreign danger, have been always the instruments of tyranny at home. Among the Romans it was a standing maxim to excite a war, whenever a revolt was apprehended. Throughout all Europe, the armies kept up under the pretext of defending, have enslaved the people.”

James Madison: “Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. In war, too, the discretionary power of the Executive is extended; its influence in dealing out offices, honors, and emoluments is multiplied: and all the means of seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing the force, of the people. The same malignant aspect in republicanism may be traced in the inequality of fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing out of a state of war, and in the degeneracy of manners and of morals, engendered by both. No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.

John Quincy Adams: “America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom.”

George Washington: “It is our true policy to steer clear of entangling alliances with any portion of the foreign world. The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible.”

Thomas Jefferson: “I have ever deemed it fundamental for the United States never to take active part in the quarrels of Europe. Their political interests are entirely distinct from ours. Their mutual jealousies, their balance of power, their complicated alliances, their forms and principles of government, are all foreign to us. They are nations of eternal war. “

George Washington: “And that the said Constitution be never construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the press, or the rights of conscience; or to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms; OR TO RAISE STANDING ARMIES (permanent armies), UNLESS NECESSARY FOR THE DEFENSE OF THE UNITED STATES, OR OF SOME ONE OR MORE OR THEM; or to prevent the people from petitioning, in a peaceable and orderly manner, the federal legislature, for a redress of grievances; or to subject the people to unreasonable searches and seizures of their persons, papers or possessions.” (Debates of the Massachusetts Convention of February 6, 1788; Debates and Proceedings in the Convention of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 1788 (Pierce & Hale, eds., Boston, 1850))

Why is all who serve required to take the Oath to “SUPPORT AND DEFEND” THE US CONSTITUTION? Because it is their duty to say “NO” when those who serve within our government tells them to do any type of UNLAWFUL action. That is why the USA was free, because the people were not too dumbed down to know that they must say “NO” to unlawful things – and one knows they are unlawful by the US Constitution.

Just Say “No”. Go to war ONLY if the Congress declares it.

        Cal

They’re not wars, they’re Police Actions minus the Police. They’re conflicts not with hurtful words or even punches but aircraft and bombs. Korea and Vietnam became “Wars” only after they ended and after a sufficient number of years to induce amnesia. Now Vietnam is called nobel. They fought for our freedom. Utter bullshit.

Its George Orwell 1984 rewriting history.

    33. When you come back with tubes in your stomach to a bag of shit sitting on the back of your wheelchair. When you meet your X’s new guy cause your dick is limp. When your daughter becomes a drug addict getting passed from one bum to another because she can’t cope with the year she spent as a pow getting gang raped every day and night. When you find out it was all bullshit to make money for some parasite. What you gonna do then.

When they try to draft you, don’t comply. War is bullshit. If the bastards invade the U.S. THEN shoot the bastards. But not before.

The fact that some experts were claiming NK was ten years from a deliverable nuke (i.e., miniaturization AND a guided ICBM) just a few months ago, and now suddenly NK has everything they need to nuke New York makes all of it highly suspect as propaganda.

Both Russia and South Korea explicitly said the alleged NK “ICBM” was simply an unguided IRBM which cannot reach the continental US – maybe Alaska which is 1,500 miles away from the rest of us.

The claim that NK now has SIXTY nuclear weapons is almost certainly total bullcrap. At most, they have maybe 6-10 – IF those “assessments”, i.e. “guesses”, are true. And they are all more or less primitive. There has been zero evidence produced that they have miniaturized nukes.

A report from Japan stating so is likely propaganda to get the US to bomb NK. The Japanese are hardly unbiased observers.

I live in San Francisco. I have ZERO fear that NK will drop a nuke on me. I DO fear that NK might ship one over in a submarine and blow it in San Francisco Bay if the US is attacking them unilaterally.

It is the US which is the greatest threat to peace on the Korean peninsula and elsewhere.

    35. lena says:

so, north korea gets nuke missles now and iran does too in about 5 years.

anyone under forty is really going to love the future bill Clinton gave them with north korea and Obama will give them with iran.

    36. TheGuy says:

Am I the only one that sees what a ridiculously obvious head-fake Kim’s pulling here?

“Think of it in terms of ICBM’s”

      He says.

While he no doubt has a shit ton of nasty biological and nuclear shit in cargo containers in our ports. At this very second now.

To say nothing of all the sleeper agents in our infrastructure…

Bitch has had forever to lay this down you know…

    37. Nnblmom says:

Glad I didn’t take that $100,000 nursing job–tax free to South Korea that all the travel nursing agencies were advertising a couple of months ago. Yep, a year contract, any state license because it was a federal job–$100,000 tax free

    38. Frank Thoughts says:

If you study Game Theory you will know all the advantage is to North Korea. North Korea knows the US will attack them one day in some way. Because of this fact the NK’s have built an elaborate domestic defence capability unparalled in any other nation. They have also developed an assymetrical and forward operating capability that can bring the fight to the US in many different places.

If the US strikes NK either with nukes or conventionally, the US risks losing its global reputation and enraging nearby power states Russia and China. A cloud of radioactive dust is not going to make China happy; nor would a vicious conventional conflict on the pennisula.

As for NK, if they go pre-emptive (and they have many positives for doing this) then they can deal a sharp blow to US forces in the region while also sowing massive unrest within the US. The automatic US retaliation would be expected and so 99% of NKs would be underground and in concrete bunkers and ready for the blows. That is a very different posture to what the US would be like: the US would be caught with its pants down and with an unprepared civilian population. In Game Theory, NK has nothing really to lose in taking the advantage since they have already absorbed the idea the US will attack them anyway at some point.

Its lose-lose for everybody. The radiation may die down after a couple days, but long term a nuclear war will be an extinction level event due to the massive amount and duration and longevity of all the nuclear fall out. So what if a couple years go by and the immediate radiation disperses, it doesn’t go away, and the prevalence of cancers in humans now is skyrocketing already, never mind additional mutagenic power of a wars fallout, much less accounting for effects worldwide on food production… Its all lose. Game Theory my ass. Pointless when you cant grow food, and what little you do have you cant eat from the effects of radiation sickness or being contaminated. Mankind is living a fantasy if they think ANY nuke war on any scale is not going to be a game ender after all the fallout we already have from various nuke accidents and ages of nuke testing. Its cumulative and the radiation will be here long after mankind has killed itself off.
