"There is no means of avoiding a final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as a result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved." -Ludwig Von Mises

Seriousness of the Crisis Cannot be Exaggerated; Closest Comparison is the Collapse of the Soviet Union

Ron Paul on the Glen Beck Show September 7, 2009 discusses the changes going on with the entire US economic system. Also take note of what George Soros said at Columbia University last Friday and threat to the United States of America as we know it today. Gerald Celente has said that we are about to experience a scenario “like nothing we’ve ever seen in our life time“, and Ron Paul and George Soros seem to agree. This is far from being over, folks.

Comments…..I like your site–have read it for years, agree Bush was a jerk, but to credit Geo Soros with anything positive is damn near enough to make me swear off your site.

He is a marxist asshole with too much money, and a penchant for getting others to do his bidding, like, say, Obama.

And–those saying “it’s all over, America”–are just simpletons who equate being American with the foooking gummint.  Soros, Obama, the whole Bush fami.y and the Clintons can take a hike, the economy can blow up and every WRH death scenario can come about, but those of us whop are Americans will survice.

THAT, is what we are about–not asshole politicians and cheap commentary.

Soros and Murdoch, both quoted in the video, are amongst the instigators of the crisis, not mere analysts of its progress.

JB, your comments confuse me.  Simply being an ideologue/adherent  to the Constitution (and I am assuming that is your definition of American) doesn’t mean you will survive this.   If you have been outspoken about the corruption, then there is a good chance your name is on a list and you will be a target of the NWO.  Whether or not you survive the collapse of the United States (all nations eventually fail) has nothing to do with your ideological convictions, but your survivalist skills.

Whether or not you agree with George Soros is irrelevant; the man is one of the wealthiest people in the world, he predicted the collapse of the dollar, the rise in gold, etc., etc., etc. (yes, he has enough money and power to control the markets to make things happen), and to avoid listening to what one of the most powerful men in the world has to say because you don’t like him is welll….ignorant.    The author didn’t say he cared for GS; he said that Ron Paul and George Soros agree on something, which in my mind makes it more interesting and credible.  It doesn’t change my opinion of Soros - I still think he’s an asshole and if Celente’s predictions and the webbot predictions at HalfPastHuman are correct, Soros will be one of the targets when Ceausescu-like incidents begin to unfold around the world.

There are still a lot of financial problems facing the United States.  There is  the increasing home foreclosures, CDO, CDS, MBS,  and personal bankrupties to deal with.   Until all these issues have been dealt with, the financial system is still walking a tightrope that could break at any time.    Everyone should also be concerns about bank failures,  the increasing national debt, the interest payment on that national debt,  adequate reserve for the FDIC to cover bank deposits  for those banks that fail.
The financial system is going to take years to correct,  maybe even a generation to undo the damage that has been done.   There is no guarantee that the United States will succeed  either.

Totally agreed Fred. This is definitely not your everyday, 18 month long recession.

I’m sure the American people will survive but when the fooking hell are going to get off your fooking butts and do something like take to the streets and overthrow the fooking lot in charge of your country and running it to the fooking ground.

Of course, that needs organisation and making comments on the fooking Internet ain’t the way to achieve a fooking thing.

George Soros is a what? Answer: An author, a fund manager, and yes a philanthropist.  How do you match up? The guy is an advocate of democracy, a critic of both the filthy criminal Bush administration  and the self destructive fiscal policy of the U.S.
He may not be perfect, but his bio looks damn good. Marinate on that a bit.
