Nuclear Alert: Belgium Distributed Iodine Pills, But Claims There’s ‘No Risk’

Belgium has randomly begun the free distribution of iodine pills to its citizens. Millions of boxes of pills have been delivered, but the Belgium government continues to claim there is no risk of radiation.

Pharmacies have begun receiving some of the 4.5 million boxes of iodine pills, which have been available for citizens for free since Tuesday. This was revealed during the presentation of a new plan in the extreme case of a nuclear emergency. The distribution of the medicine, which is considered beneficial for radiation-affected citizens, came as an updated emergency plan came into effect.

According to RT, in 2017, the Belgium government launched a website, explaining to its 11 million citizens the step-by-step instructions on what to do in case of a nuclear accident. The alert states that in emergency situations, citizens should always follow recommendations of the authorities, which include seeking shelter, following evacuation orders and taking iodine pills.

One of the dangers of a nuclear disaster is the release of radioactive iodine (Iodine-131) which can be accumulated in the thyroid gland and cause thyroid cancer. Taking iodine pills, also known as potassium iodide, before or at the beginning of exposure can prevent thyroid cancer, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). It was Iodine-131 that caused around 5,000 deaths from thyroid cancer following the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986.

According to Belgian Interior Minister Jan Jambon, Brussels is trying to properly inform the public, adding that all measures are solely precautionary and the nuclear facilities present no threat. For now there is no specific risk with our nuclear plants,” Jambon said.

There are two nuclear power plants, operating seven reactors within Belgium. The first plant is located in the village of Doel, near the northern Dutch-speaking port of Antwerp, and the second is in French-speaking Liege province in the south. Citing its aging reactors, the country has decided to phase out nuclear power by 2025 and are perhaps expecting some radioactive incidents to occur.

Belgium launched an initial series of emergency measures back in 1991 in case of a nuclear disaster, but only updated them in 2003, Benoit Ramacker, spokesman for the national crisis center said. With the latest plans, “citizens must also prepare to help themselves the day something happens”, Ramacker told RTBF in an interview.

The country has recently witnessed dozens of minor incidents linked to nuclear power sites. Thus, in 2017 local media reported that ultrasonic inspections detected a substantial number of new micro cracks in nuclear reactors at both Belgian plants. Back in 2014, the Doel 4 nuclear reactor was temporarily closed due to an oil leak. Authorities later confirmed that it was a case of sabotage. –RT

Media outlets reported that terrorist suicide bombers Khalid and Ibrahim El Bakraoui had been planning attacks on Belgian nuclear power stations, according to Dernier Heure report.

By all accounts, it appears that the Belgium government is preparing for a nuclear incident of some kind, but they say there is “no risk” of radiation at this time.

If there was no risk then why would a country do this. Can you imagine the absurdity of a country doing this and saying there is no risk.
Oh yeah I forgot we live in the good old socialist United States. Here free Iodine pills and we are giving them to you for no reason at all. We are just over stocked.

If anyone on here has not studied or prepared for a nuclear exchange then maybe now would be a good time.

“If there was no risk then why would a country do this”

because if you have the means to prepare in advance for a potential issue, why the hell not??

He’s saying theres no immediate risk, no current emergency

      • Jim in Va. says:

Mike; already got mine I’m guessing something is in the works.

      • Mike, all I know is that KIO3 tablets are not cheap to buy and distribute. You certainly don’t want to consume KIO3 tablets unless there is an urgent need to do so. To give them out for free raises some questions.

He has a Health Center which carries Lugol and Iodine and other supplements.
Buy Brazil Nuts for selenium which works with Iodine

Fluorine and clourine interfere with Iodine uptake.

Sea vegetables (seaweed) and fish are good sources of trace amounts of Iodine.
12 mg. Is best in my case. But I think the doc takes 50mg. Which is a lot.
He has a family history of hypothyroid. And he specializes in this.

The thyroid protection given by the RDA recommended daily allowance is only enough to ward off goiter. It is not enough for the breast in women and men, the ovaries in women, or the metabolism to burn calories into energy.

      Signs of low Iodine include
      Hair loss
      Dry skin
      Weight gain

In an emergency, such as high radiation from nuclear fallout, at least normal levels of Iodine are needed to protect the thyroid from damage and possible Cancer causing toxicity.

Every cell in the body needs adequate Iodine and selenium. Synthetic selenium is toxic in high doses. Check to get the correct amount. A naturopathic doctor should be better informed than an allopathic doctor. Brownstein is an exception.

In allopathic schools which are Rockefeller schools, the official line is in sync with Big Pharma.
Quack is standard medicine code for competition.
      Rothschild called competition a sin.
Western medicine is a religion and the doctor is its priest.

Hey good Belgians, don’t worry, the government has you covered. Just take these little pills and that nasty glow-in-the-dark thing you got going on will just fade away.

    4. Most people who are diagnosed as “hypothyroid” had blood tests that showed too low thyroid hormone levels. Physicians prescribe a synthetic version of thyroid hormone called “synthroid”. The synthroid version gets your thyroid hormone levels back to normal but doesn’t necessarily correct the symptoms. The focus should be on getting the thyroid gland to start producing more of the right thyroid hormone. B from CA is right about selenium and iodine levels. The heavy metal, mercury, can have an effect. The RDA levels are not the optimum levels but are the levels that prevent deficiency diseases in a healthy person. The “safe” levels on heavy metals are set too high.

I picked up all the iodine I needed during the Fukushima Daichi Reactor meltdowns. Think I’m covered.

    7. Truthy Lucy says:

Wow! There country actually gets a heads up, iodine pills and information on what to do if nuclear war comes knocking.

We get perpetual fear mongering, lies of epic proportions and on are on continuous stand by for nukes, earthquakes, EMP, N. Korea, Russia, tsunamis, planet X, economy tanking, martial Law, volcanos, WW3, another 911 and last but not least a pandemic of epic proportions.

Unlike Belgium one would get the idea our country doesn’t care about us. I know it’s just my imagination!! 😉

      • rda2058 says:

Personally, i’m tired of worrying about it all. Too much to worry about all the time.
I don’t have to worry about iodine pills. They took all of my thyroid just because mine was overactive. Instead of half of it. Hey no worries there.
If you have to have your thyroid removed, see if they can at least save half of it. If there Is no cancer In It. Half is better than none. A little hindsight there.
Most thyroid pills are made from cow or pig. Synthroid is synthetic.
If we were smart humans, we would leave alone nuclear power plants.
Now we pay the price for playing with that.
We’ve already been exposed to radiation a long time ago. Think Chernobyl and fukishima. Still going on. They can’t stop it. Think about if they all fall apart. Then you can KYAG. eventually.
Years ago goats in vermont showed radiation in their milk..

    8. Plan twice, prep once says:

If you have a simple inexpensive digital Geiger counter. Check your dryer lint and write down the reading. It’s interesting that air born nuclear material is collected by the lint acting as an air filter, and as such collects it giving a good reading as apposed to just a background reading.

Repeat your tests over a period of weeks. Do it now to establish a normal level in your home. Then repeat quarterly. This test also gives insight to radon levels, the second cause of lung cancer after cigarettes.

If you know the natural levels in your area, you can test if the government is lying about a nearby nuclear leak that will raise levels. There are seasonal changes in background radiation since you also get solar and space radiation affecting your reading. The dryer lint test is better than a simple count since it’s a sampling of the air.

A twist on the dryer lint test. Take your ball of lint and get a reading off of it. Repeat in 10 minute intervals for a couple hours and graph. The curve usually drops off at a predictable rate, if what you are reading are daughter isotopes of radon.

After Fukushima some government testers were taking readings off car air filters to access outdoor airborn contamination.

    9. After all of the evil things that are reported on this website, how can we be sure that the pills are really iodine? I used to be a trusting person but now I am suspicious of anything any government gives out that is free. Am I paranoid? If I am, could it be from the chemtrails? That is also something that the government is giving out that is free.
