    New York Times: “Constitution is terse and old, and it guarantees relatively few rights”

    In a move that has shocked many Americans, the New York Times has published a hit piece against the US Constitution and its “outdated” ways.

    The hit piece comes on the heels of a sitting justice of the Supreme Court recommending multiple other constitutions and human rights charters to Egypt over the very constitution she is tasked to protect.

    Joe Joseph, speaking during an emotionally charged Intel Hub News Brief Podcast, outlined this disgusting attack on the very foundation of this country and the ridiculous examples and excuses used to demonize the Constitution.

    In the hit piece, the author actually claims that the US Constitution guarantees “relatively few rights.

    There are lots of possible reasons. The United States Constitution is terse and old, and it guarantees relatively few rights.

    The commitment of some members of the Supreme Court to interpreting the Constitution according to its original meaning in the 18th century may send the signal that it is of little current use to, say, a new African nation.

    And the Constitution’s waning influence may be part of a general decline in American power and prestige.

    Relatively few rights? Interpreting the Constitution in its original form a bad thing? America losing its prestige because we follow our Constitution?

    These absurd statements and type of thinking actually make sense coming from the New York Times, especially when you consider their devout worship of globalization and any war the military industrial complex wishes to wage.

          I prefer the soft, cottony, multi-ply softness of the Wall Street Journal, personally, but both papers suffer significant drawbacks in that they are already 100% completely full of crap.

          Make sure you read the comments in the NY Times article…it will increase your confidence in your fellow Americans greatly. 99% are outraged by the article, and the few comments that aren’t are laughably weak. Same for the Reuters article Mac posted yesterday.

They both want to control our money and from that, every action in our daily lives to feed their egos and bank accounts. A true Liberal is one that everybody now calls a Libertarian: where government is forced to stay out over our daily lives whether it is financial or personal. The far right is run by a corporatocray and their need for ever increasing wealth from the war machine, and the far left are the psychotic Stalinists academicians who’ve failed in the world of work ($) and want payback for people failing to recognize their so called “intellectual superiority”.

          The NYT has always been about progressiveness. They have lost a lot of readers over the past decade and loosing money. Pretty soon we’ll probably see a bailout as with the banks.
          As for the constitution, it is the one document keeping the ptb from making us a third world enity and being part of the NWO.
          No rights? Correct interpretation of the constitution released the slaves, gave women the right to vote and more than anything let us worship God freely. No rights? It protected the NYT inorder to print their minority opinions. The New York Times would have gone bankrupt in Texas long ago and been out of circulation.

        I think TPTB have been “preparing” the population for the idea to “rewrite the Constitution.” Most schools don’t teach about it and haven’t for a long time. Many kids have heard their teachers downplay the Constitution – its old, doesn’t apply anymore, etc. So many have grown up and don’t know or appreciate our Constitution.

        No wonder the libs hate Glenn Beck. He revived interest in reading about and learning about our Constitution and founding fathers. He also encourage grandparents and parents to teach their children.

        It is much easier to take away or disregard something that many people don’t really understand and/or have been taught is irrelevant.

        Ladies and gentlemen I am PLEASED to report to you that both Maricopa and Coconino counties in Arizona have been identified in the latest DHS “Domestic Terrorism Report” as being “hots pots” of dissent by Patriots!

        As an ex-Marine and Viet Nam Veteran I couldn’t be PROUDER of this designation.

        In fact, I haven’t been this proud of any community designation like this since Playboy magazine designated Arizona State University as the Number One Party School In The Nation when I was a senior there.

The shame of it is that the elitist little snobs at that nasty little rag are too busy telling each other how clever they all are. It’s almost sad really, they live such insular lives that the truly believe that they actually still matter. The NYT and the three main news networks (ABC,NBC,&CBS) are all dying a slow, but necessary death due to lack of subscribers. There are a lot of other great news sources out there. Good riddance to those limp-wristed liberal outlets and the sewage they spill!

      • Yeah, I was just thinking something similar myself. The idiots at the NYT have some fantastical vision of a Communist utopia that can never exist. The Constitution is the very thing that made this country great. Being free and independent is what made us successful. That freedom and success is the very thing that drove many out of their homes from around the world and sought to come here. Millions of people have died for this philosophy and these assholes just shit on their graves with retarded remarks like this.

        My guess, they never read the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence or the Magna Carta. If they have read any of them, then they certainly don’t understand the timelessness of these documents. Freedom is eternal. Independence is eternal. Keep your altruistic utopian pipe dream and I’ll keep my life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

          This goes right along with the task of dumbing down the Amerikan sheeple. Can’t read that old document; guess we have to update it into simplified modern language that leave plenty of wiggle room for “interpretation”. Can you imagine? The contemporaries of the writers of the Constitution apparently had no difficulty with the lofty language and abstract concepts such as limited government and individual liberties. Guess we need to make a new version like those NKJV Bibles.

          I agree, the NY Times would make prime ass-wiping material. Maybe we can start a letter writing campaign to convince them to add aloe to the composition of the paper and print it in thin, perforated, four inch wide strips!

        This used to be a great site, however it is turning into a forum for anti-semitic rants and hatred. I have read posts that give Hitler thumbs up. No one seems to care about what is spewed here anymore.
        In my opinion, the people that are becoming more and more acceptable of this type of hatred, are sheople of another sort.

        History will repeat itself and those that believe and accept these lies and abominations, will be to blame.

        I am a catholic conservative and I stand with Israel. I believe in God and I will therefore pray for those that dismiss these vile rants and even joke about them.

          I’m annoyingly open-minded to most people here, but even I can see the truth in what was stated. There are major pro-Israeli special interest groups controlling the American mainstream media. And the reason for that? To control the propaganda delivered to the American people.

          The United States is the United States, not Israel. It isn’t anti-semitic or racist to expect that we look after our interests first, not second to the interests of Israel

          Your above “welcome to the NEW WORLD ORDER” is exactly what’s going to happen if some light is not shed on the deceit going on in the mainstream media – deceit that is driven specifically by the above-identifed special interest groups.

            I am a “Christian Zionist” and I define that as a belief in Jesus Christ and his eventual return; and that the land of Israel has been given to the Jews by Him.

            It doesn’t mean that I believe that the end justifies the means with respect to Israel and the activities of American Jewry.

            Nor are the actions of these Dual Citizens in the Congress, State, Defense, Security, Intelligence, or the War Department, consistent with American values of personal liberty, economic opportunity, and American justice.

            Not only are OUR personal liberties which are guaranteed to US by the Constitution being eroded by these same self oriented people, but they are undermining the Ideal of America itself.

            QP: First, I am not a Bible scholar. Thank God, because most of them that I have heard expound upon Christ at length, do not seem to have a personal relationship with Him and seem to even question His authenticity. Yet somehow they are considered “experts” by the LSM.

            Nor, based upon their conversations about Him, it is crystal clear that they do not know Him. I do. I have met Him face to face. So in the reality of Jesus Christ I have no doubt.

            I am confused as to what part of my comments you are applying yours.

            Please do not try to justify the Catholic Church to me by posting its Doctrine. I have seen enough. It has become the Mother of Harlots and is clearly defined within the Bible as such.

            Any Doctrine of the Catholic Church has NO relevance for me, so please do not try to explain it or justify it to me.

            Its demise, by the Judgement of God according to Revelation, cannot happen soon enough for me.

            My point was that as a “Christian Zionist”, which I defined for ME; was the Return of Christ to Mt Zion (where the name of God is written in the land) and the granting of the land of Israel to the Jews according to the Promise given by God to Abraham.

            So while I consider myself a “zionist” within that context, I do not condone the methods that the Dual Citizens use to justify their actions on behalf of the State of Israel.

            Therefore Christian Zionists can be believers in Christ and support the “occupation” of Israel by the Jews, without being sympathizers of evil and unlawful acts committed in their name and upon their behalf.

            I do not hold all Jews responsible for the Mossad, and I would hope that people everywhere do not hold all Americans responsible for the CIA. Some things are just not under OUR control.

            I am aware that the New Covenant of JC replaces the Old Covenant of the Jews.

            However, a thorough reading of the Bible also suggests that the Gentiles are “grafted” onto the Old Covenant by faith in JC (the new Covenant); while the Jews are also included in the new vine, into the New Covenant.

            As such, all believers in Almighty God participate in the Promises of God, His Gospel, and life in the New Jerusalem.

            So while the law has been changed, because it has been fulfilled by the Life, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ; the Promise of the Old Covenant to Abraham remains intact: namely that Israel belongs to the Jews.

            “Israel” clearly being defined in the Bible as the descendants of Abraham through Jacob with the boundaries of that land also clearly defined.

            So while WE are justified now, by faith through Jesus Christ and not by law, The Lord still requires that WE live the life WE claim in Christ, as the Bible clearly states that many who cast out demons in His name and even perform miracles will not be acceptable to Him.

            Righteousness without works is dead. Thus the Lord requires that WE love mercy, do justly, and walk humbly before Him.

            WE are OUR brothers keeper folks, so do not begrudge those in need. The Bible repeatedly admonishes US to remember the poor and dispossessed. With all that is yet to manifest, preps or not, it may not be enough to save you and yours from reality.

      An attack on our Constitution is an act of treason. This is not the first nor will it be the last. We must always guard against these attempts and protect our GOD given freedom.

      I’ve said before, ” I hope for the best, and prepare for the worst”.

      I do not ever want to see us in a Civil War, this would be a horrible scenario beyond all comprehension. To anyone who has seen the face of war, you know.

      We should do all we can and keep on doing it for as long as it takes to protect what our beloved country of AMERICA stands for, not maybe the way it is atm.

      Fighting, civil war, and spilling blood and the devastation of human and infrastructure is horrific and is not something to be looked foward to.

      I’m located in Alvin, TX. about halfway tween Houston and Galveston. We also have a country place in the Big Thicket about an hour North of Beaumont.

      And there really is not a plural involved. I’ve been doing land and livestock protection business for years in East Texas with the emphasis on nuisance animal control. Most of the work was done in the area East and North of Houston, with predator control, coyote, coyote/wolf hybrids, other coyote/canine hybrids, wildcats of all varietys and surprisingly enough, Beaver control work. That was done as far North as 6 mile on Toledo Bend and as far south as Sour Lake west of Beaumont. The predator work was all over East Texas, with most done in the Gulf Coastal Plain between Houston and Beaumont. Most of it was word of mouth work, there being few people left that know how to take care of the critters. I’m an old Northern raised boy and learned the skills as a teenager growing up in Northern Minnesota, not far from the Canadian border.

      The recent addition of the distillation units came about as a result of Hurricane Ike. We evacuate to the country place in the event of a hurricane and our power was knocked out 100-150 miles inland. When the electricity goes, so does the ability to pump gasoline or diesel. We were prepared and had gas and generator but it got me to thinking what if we had an extended outage due to a Katrina sized event or worse. Last year, about this time, I started work on a prototype made from cheap sheet metal copper and pipe. I knew it would work as in my regular day job for the past 30 plus years, I’m a Plant Layout, piping and equipment Designer, I work for the “big boys” like Bechtel, Fluor, KBR etc. I design refinerys, chemical plants, water treatment, etc. And I had specific experience in distilling alcohol while spending two years in Saudi Arabia at the end of the first Gulf War, I worked in the Riyadh Refinery as a civilian for the Saudi Government. Alcohol as a beverage there was against the law and of course most of us westerners drank, so we learned how to make our own beer and wine and I learned how to distill moonshine from a chemical engineer buddy of mine. We used similar designed equipment as to what my units are now and used to get up to 94-95% from a single distillation. Then we would water down to a consumable level of 80-100 proof.

      I used to have a weakness for the alcoholoic beverage and have long since stopped personal consumption. I don’t condone it and don’t condemn it. And one could say I have turned my weakness into a strength by designing these units, or so I would like to think….lol.

      So to make a long story a bit shorter, I was building that prototype and two friends visited me on separate occasions, they saw what I was doing, asked me what the heck it was and were impressed enough to ask me to build them both one as well. One of them built my website as a 50-50 exchange of labor and bought his materials, I put it together as the first unit beyond the prototype, the second one was a larger unit and I started using TIG welding of the copper plate and pipe in order to make a more durable unit and he was happy upon completion. The first friend is involved in the “prepper” community and encouraged me to incorporate my design as a unit available to the public as he knew people would be interested in it as an emergency tool, not only for the ability to make a fuel grade of ethanol but also for the antiseptic grade of alcohol as well and of course there are those that would see an advantage to the benefits of being able to produce a beverage in emergency conditions, as people will probably need it for all three applications. And then of course there is the abiltity of being able to distill fresh water from contaminated water, albeit, possibly not in the case of your specific needs as you may have some volatiles in your water. I’m not saying my units will not help you but, that is not what they were designed for.

      So I hope I have not bent your ear too much in listening to my drivel, but basically at this time, there is only myself working on these units, I’d like to expand, but still have to depend on my engineering job to pay the bills. I’d rather do my units fulltime but family responsibilties come first. I will say that almost every spare moment, on days off from work, and the weekends, you can find me in my shop in the back yard, cutting copper sheet and plate, pipe, making custom flanges and welding or soldering all the above. I take my work seriously as I know in the event of a SHTF scenario, just the ability to provide people with an antiseptic will save lives, fresh water as well and the fuel purpose is what originally got me thinking about all of this. I do not make much if any money out of these units as the labor is intense, everything is handmade. But I take pride in that and garantee it.

      So with that said, I’ll shut up and get back to work…lol.

      And hopefully you won’t mind that I copy/paste this to my buddys website for other peeps to read, as they have been some of my biggest supporters and I thank them.

        Chemical Engineer here and I spent many years building alcohol distillation plants and if you are getting 90% alcohol from first run distillation then you are a (not likely)genius. Under lab conditions using a heating medium close to the boiling temp of the ethanol it is possible to get in the high 80′s but under commercial conditions it is just not possible. Refineries pay billions of dollars for fractional distilation towers for a reason.

          My units are TRUE miniature reflux fractionating COLUMNS with packing, all 100% copper, including the boiler.

          I know beyond a shadow of a doubt they will do exactly what I said and I would say you are not a very good Chemical Engineer or do not have ANY practical design experience.

          The Azeotropic barrier of alcohol/water distillation is 95.6 under normal conditions, you can do no better, your 90% comment is baseless and asinine as I KNOW BETTER.

          I would suggest that before you critisize my personally proven distillation, you may want to ask a few people around here about good ole “genius” Terry W. Reed.

          I am also in the mode of developing a MOLE SIEVE to further dehydrate the ethanol to a theoretical 99% pure from the 94-95% proven level, measured at 60 degrees F, for continuity in a real benchmark.

          Say what you want, I know the truth so do someother peeps here. As soon as I get the FEDERAL SMALL ALCOHOL FUEL PRODUCERS PERMIT, I will prove it with the addition of irrefuteable VIDEO, showing every stage, until then I it is a felony to distill alcohol in any event. Once I can do it legally I’ll be testing my mole sieve and will be totally capable of showing your ill informed or non-experienced claim of some 90% number, take a hike, your probably a troll.

          I may not be a genius, or maybe am, that is probably a point of perspective, I just do what I do, but here are a couple more personal experience claims I have for you to dis-respect in your obviously elevated intellect, I’m an accomplished true traditional martial trained person. I have been a marksman since I was 13 years old. I make my own ammunition for rifle, shotgun and pistol, most calibers. I am capable and experienced enough with a rifle to put 3 shots through the same hole at 100 yards and at a quarter mile, 5 outa 6 shots placed in a 1″x4″ metal plate. I also build my own computers, am an amatuer archaeologist and paleontologist with an extensive collection of iceage specimens including CLOVIS artifacts and the animals they hunted….lol…

          So bubba whoever you are, take your experience and shove it….or prove me wrong with your irrefuteable proof here live on SHTFplan.com…..which you cannot do…

      It appears to me that the left is laying the groundwork for a constitutional convention. They will gussy it up as making some small changes to make it better for everyone. But the problem is an actual constitutional convention would be impowered to totally rewrite the constitution and that would of course mean no more 2nd amendment and who knows what else they would toss. I think they are preparing the ground for this now.

      The other thing is…if the constitution DIDNT make you have rights what else does it do?…it acts as a restraint(a ball and chain)on the federal govt…it is a restraining order of such against the fedgov on behalf of we the people…it was to act as a cage or a box into which the fedgov was to be restrained/contained…the problem is the beast has escaped the cage and is now attempting to put all of us in the box!
      You have to know who you are and who they are…you have to know that they are the servents and you/we are the masters or they will continue to bluster and to bluff you into cedeing your sovereignty and authority to them…and they will use your own authority to enslave and destroy you…study,educate yourselves and others to the truth…stand up for your God given self…look the govt in the eye and spit in it!
      And lest anyone think I dont respect the constitution Im telling you I do its just that putting ones faith in a document is kin to putting ones faith in a man…when that man fails/falls then often you fail/fall too…Americans were free before the constitution was even conceived(probably free-er) the states were still states,each having their own constitutions…chaining them down to the peoples will…its been argued with some merit that the federal constitution actually weakened the peoples standing that they had under The Articles of Confederation,and that may be true,but its the best anybody has come up with thusfar…and the fact that TPTB hate it is enough for me to fight to defend it…thanks!

      I am not a tin foil hat guy, but you have really got to ask yourself could it be that they want a crisis so that they have an excuse to start fresh?

      I mean Greece is dying a slow death at the hands of the same flesh eating bacteria (SPENDING) that the US suffers from. The only difference is Greece’s demise is in slow motion because of the denial that exists throughout the world, when it comes our turn it will be a hell of a lot more painful.

      People really need to ask themselves this question… and its corralary: are you willing to risk your life and limb to make sure that if it does happen here people like un-Justice Ginsberg and those who read the NYT religiously aren’t the ones left to putting all the pieces back together. Thank you Doctor Frankenstein but I think I will keep my old fashioned constitution as is.

      I don’t get how “guaranteeing rights” is necessarily a good thing. After all, people recently have come up with all sorts of “rights” lately that are not even addressed in the constitution.

      The 10th amendment, along with the amendment process itself, are PURE GENIUS.

      The 10th amendment doesn’t guarantee rights to the people, it states that everything up to that point are the things that are guaranteed to GOVERNMENT. And ALL ELSE is implicitly guaranteed to the states, and if the state doesn’t cover something then it’s guaranteed to the people. By default, rights fall through the layers of government to the people unless some level of government specifically addresses an issue to the contrary. That’s how it SHOULD be. More freedom/liberty is the default, unless it impinges on other’s freedom/liberty.

      The main problem as I see it today is that every damn thing has to be at the federal level. Why can’t STATES decide the appropriate level of alcohol in one’s blood that constitutes DUI? Why can’t STATES decide whether one should wear a seat belt, or go over a certain speed, or buy a particular kind of light bulb?

      As it is, there are WAY too many decisions being made at the federal level….and I can’t afford to travel to DC to bitch out my congresscritter or senator. I possibly COULD travel to my state capital, or catch my state congresscritters when they’re at home. I’ve tried it…you can sometimes get them on the phone even.

      This is a patchwork country, and it was designed purposefully to be that way. Yes, there are certain inefficiencies that come with that…but the alternative is what we’re seeing….heading toward 16 trillion in debt that we have absolutely no say over. Launching wars that the president doesn’t even bother to consult congress over.

      ENOUGH. Devolve power to lower levels, and I think we’ll see half our problems go away (except for that huge debt). Not sure what will solve the other half, but we can’t even start on those until the first half is taken care of.

      I’ve been perusing some progressive web sites. These people honestly believe that forcing others to pay for things such as cell phones, prescription drugs, contraception, abortions, health care, plus a host of other things are part of their “rights” as Americans. In the same breath they are against (if they don’t like the recipient that is), bailouts, tax breaks for corporations and individuals, etc… There is a serious disconnect in the thought processes going on. The rule of thumb, for all political party supporters, is support that which you like, be totally against that with which you don’t agree. Oh, and make sure you remain blind to your hipocratic position of thinking govt should pay for the things you want, and not fund those you disagree with. The only solution to these huge problems is to absolutely remove government from the equation. If I want birth control, I have a right to purchase it, why does my company have to pay for it if they choose not to? If I want to have a job, why am I forced to pay into a union that doesn’t support my beliefs? Why if one form of cohersion ok, yet the other is unacceptable? That the press would trumpet the rights of unions to force my payment into their corrupt system, and in the same breath abhor the position that an employer might not want to support birth control (that you can purchase on your own without restriction) is ludicrous. That no one of influence calls them out about this position is just the proof that the whole system has ceased to represent “We the People” and instead represent “we the special interests”. I guess true liberty just isn’t lucrative enough for these immoral thieves., thus their support of the current system. Makes one want to scream, as no “legitimate” opposition will yield results. There is a reason for the 2nd amendment, and this usurpation of our liberty is exactly the reason for breaking with England in the first place. Do they seriously think that the citizens of this country are as ignorant of history as they? Don’t vote in the upcoming elections. Stay home. Vote for none of the above, not the criminals presented as our choice.

Funny, last time I checked, the constitution did protect us, until people started changing & ignoring it. These power hungry politicians think we are too stupid to know what is best for our people… and I’m no political scientist, but I know that our government, and now the NY Times, has SOLD OUT. This will NOT turn into a police state. If it does, this country has lost all of it’s meaning, and I’m either joining the local militia or leaving this fake country entirely.

        lilith, like you i too am very disgusted with this country,it’s geo politics, foreign policies,etc..however, we have turned into a police state, science has replaced reason and common sense.The dumbing down of our society thru water flouridation, gmo’s, growth hormones,fed. gov. teaching our children lies, mainstream news telling lies and only used to shape public opinions about wars who’s fault is this and that and even laughs about the lies.BUT i assure you this is not a fake country, and we STILL have our constitution but like ben franklin sais “if WE can keep it” WE were sold out long ago by a ruthless and criminal element that truly runs our every facade private and public. And the enemy is within all of us. it is ultimately our responsibility to curtail our impending doom which awaits if left unchecked. There is hopefully no place to run to which leaves only one option, so stop watching mainstream television and tune in to some alternative news for more relevant info, be not decieved and pass the ammo please.
