NATO Envoy: Military Planning Against Iran and Syria is Underway

The grand chessboard is in play.

Last month we reported that the Pentagon has issued a warning order to ‘Prepare for War’.

According to Dmitry Rogozin, Russia’s envoy to NATO, it’s not just Israel and the Pentagon that are getting ready to expand the middle east theater:

Rogozin said in an interview with Russia’s Izvestia daily newspaper published on Friday that the NATO was pursuing a long-reaching goal of preparing an attack on Iran, adding that the alliance intends to change governments whose views do not coincide with those of the West.

“The noose around Iran is tightening. Military planning against Iran is underway. And we are certainly concerned about an escalation of a large-scale war in this huge region,” Rogozin added.

The Russian envoy further pointed out that Syria and later Yemen could be NATO’s last steps on the way to launch an attack on Iran.

This comes as there are speculations that Israel is preparing for an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities to divert attention from Palestinian efforts to join the United Nations.

Source: Press TV (August 6, 2011)

If Russia is to be believed (and be assured that Mr. Rogozin would not be giving interviews without prior consent from Mr. Putin and President Medvedev) the missile defense shield being built by the EU is designed not to defend against missiles from Iran, but to prepare for an attack:

Washington has said its nuclear missile defense plans were designed to prevent any possible missile strikes from Iran or North Korea.

“The missile defense system is not purely a defensive system,” envoy Dmitry Rogozin said. “There are serious and authoritative experts in Russia and in other countries who fear that the creation of a European missile defense system, officially assigned the task of blocking a threat from Iran, may in fact be a pretext for preparing an attack on Iran.”

Source: Ria Novosti (July 28, 2011)

Since 2001 Western nations have continued to expand their prescence in the region, and with the events in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and other nations it’s becoming clear that not only is World War III on the horizon, we may very well be involved in it right now. Tension is building, and as the economic, financial and political woes in the US come to a head, we can fully expect blame to be shifted, in one form or another, to Iran and others who will be deemed hostile to world peace and the safety of the United States.

Iran is in play, but first Syria and Yemen may need to be addressed. Rogozin claims that this, too, is becoming reality:

NATO is planning a military campaign against Syria to help overthrow the regime of President Bashar al-Assad with a long-reaching goal of preparing a beachhead for an attack on Iran, Russia’s envoy to NATO Dmitry Rogozin said.

The UN Security Council condemned on Wednesday ongoing violence in Syria and urged the country’s authorities to stop using force against peaceful protesters, while saying the current situation in the country has not yet called for NATO interference.”

[This statement] means that the planning [of the military campaign] is well underway. It could be a logical conclusion of those military and propaganda operations, which have been carried out by certain Western countries against North Africa,” Rogozin said in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper published on Friday.

Source: Ria Novosti (August 5, 2011)

We can ignore this as pure speculation and conjecture, or we can consider that this is how World Wars have started in the past. The chess pieces moved around on the board for over a decade before World War I became reality. The same was true for World War II.

What we may be witnessing now is the prelude to a third war that will encompass most of the world. If Iran is attacked it is difficult to predict how the Chinese and the Russians will respond, but considering their position on Libya, they won’t be happy about it. Couple that with trillions in their reserves that will be hyperinflated away and the battle for critical resources like oil, water and food, and we have a recipe for disaster.

      “Peace on Earth” …yeah right.

Humans should stop ever saying “Peace on Earth”, becasue humans love war waaaaaay too much. If humans are not wasting money, lives and body parts on real wars….. humans are wasting money and time playing video games about war.

One only need to look at the billion Dollar(plus) in sales on war video games like “Call of Duty: Black Ops”. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/entertainmentnewsbuzz/2010/12/call-of-duty-black-ops-hits-one-billion-dollars-in-sales.html

It is sickening.. it is disgusting… it is human.

We deserve what is coming, we are disgusting. In 2011+ years we can not figure out how to live and let live? We are pathetic.

      YEAH!!!!
      LETS START ANOTHER WAR!!!
CUZ THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH WARS GOING ON ALREADY!!!

….and the military industrial complex just smiles.

      • There is an urgent need for this! BHO urgently needs a military victory to discredit the right and claim they failed to get the “mission accomplished.” He also needs to get the attention hounds off the S&P, our credit rating fiasco and this depression we are in. This will be different though as Assad won’t take it sitting down like Qudaffi has…..America will like face its first foreign combatants since WWII.

I gotta say, as a former Marine, Japan was not subdued. Army troops loaded onto ships for transfer to far-east fighting (from Europe) mutinied en-route (look it up, it’s true). Japan was no where near surrender until they were A-bombed. The entire United States Military is still passing out Purple Hearts that were manufactured to cover the invasion of Japan.

On all other points, you are 100% correct. The United States of America has not “won” a war since 1945. Sad note, but politicians (of BOTH parties) have fucked over the American people time and again.

Russia has already told Assad that he may face war crimes for further massacres of his people. Russia has written Syria off. Syria is not relevent to China.

Israel warned Russia and China more than a year ago they would NOT allow Iran a nuclear weapons capablility. Subsequently, China is looking to buy high tech from Israel and will buy oil from whoever is left in Iran after the fireworks are over, and will provide Iran loans and technology to rebuild after the fact.

It is only a matter of time before Syria is “disarmed” by the West, and the West wants ground troops from Turkey to help. No doubt promises of territory and other benefits if they do. Maybe a false flag attack on NATO member Turkey to ignite the ammo dump.

Yemen is not a concern, but it is the only country in the world with more assault rifles per capita than US.

Israel will blast Iran’s nuclear facilities at some point and draw US into the fracus when Iran responds in the Persian Gulf. Its a question of when, not if.

Thats why you need to buy GOLD rather than silver. Gold will spike. Sell some at the top, and reload when it drops.

Are the Russians weaker than they look? They have a naval base in Syria. Strange they would let it be taken from them. They permit US Navy ships to sale on the Black Sea in their own back yard. They let Serbia fall prey to the US during the Kosovo crisis. They caught the US off guard during the Georgia invasion. Russia needs another victory against the US or they’re just paper tigers. Maybe the Russians will stand side by side with Iran. I doubt it. I do expect another big military adventure by the US/Globalists. What do you readers think?

Here’s a thought: remember the timing disired by the PTB. In their warped thinking, they need a bigger war, for the reasons Mac mentions above. Sad but true. Things like this serve their purposes by washing out debt by inflation, punishing regimes that don’t play the central banksters game, and de-sensitizing the masses at home to get them to accept more and more control by the gov.
Still, timing is key for them. If Obama is needed as the puppet of choice(and he may not be), then the trigger event should occur approximately 10 to 15 months before the election. That gives enough time for the sheeple to rally round the flag(since we’ve been attacked), but not too much time to get bored and dissatisfied with the ongoing war effort. Just a hunch, nothing scientific, but I’d say the time to watch for an ‘event’ is probably now through Jan next year. Of course, I could be wrong about all of it. I may wake up any minute and find I’ve been dreaming. Me and Wally will go over to Eddies and play football, then come home and Mom will have dinner and apple pie for dessert. Or I’ll be stranded on an island with a couple of cute girls and a big lunk who keeps calling me little buddy…

I’m sure you know for practical purposes every Swiss male between 21 and 45 possesses a true assault rifle with full full auto capability. Per capita their probably number one next to Israel.

There are less than 400 murders per year with a RIFLE OF ANY TYPE in the US including high capacity semi auto (miss labeled assault). Semi auto high capacity rifles are not very commonly owned relative to other firearms in the US and even more uncommonly used in murders in the US. The stats are from the FBI Uniform Crime Reports published annually. Your chances of being murdered with one is less then being hit by lightening which accounts for about 90 deaths /yr.

The claim that the US is “flooded” with either true assault rifles or semi auto high capacity rifles is a myth.

There are at best estimate 4 million high capacity semi auto center fire rifles that as defined are not “assault rifles” which have full auto capability. There are they believe 70-80 million firearms in civilian hands in the US. Semi Auto high capacity rifles account for approximately 5% of firearms in civilian hands in the US. The Firearms Ownership Protection Act of 1986 put a freeze on new full auto firearms not registered prior to that date from going in civilian hands. Those firearms in civilian hands under Title II class 3 (Machine guns) number half of the 240,000 registered of which half are in police / professional security forces hands. The full auto rifles are classified as assault rifles that would be identical to the Military AK-47.

Israel and Switzerland are awash in assault rifles not the US with 4 million of the watered down semi auto (not machine gun) rifles in civilian hands. Their military being of a reserve nature bring their issue weapons home with them. They have real “assault rifles” that per capita exceed 4 million semi auto only rifles in 300+ million peoples hands. How many of your neighbors have an AR-15 in the US as opposed to a full auto version issued to almost every Swiss male between 21-45 with ammo in their home? The rifles you mention in US hands are not assault rifles anyway. Per Capita second only to Yemen. Nonsense, absolute nonsense.

Google the FBI Uniform Crime Reports regarding illegal use of rifles of ANY TYPE. It is less then 400 murders / year in a nation of over 300 million people.

Any war with Iran would be madness. Seriously does the government want to risk oil at $190-220 a barrel while the global economy is heading towards a shitstorm of epic proportions? I really do not think there will be an attack on Iran. However if we do go to war with Iran it would be a stalemate or worse a defeat for us. Israel sees Iran as an existential threat and will try to attack Iran. However it does not mean it will be successful. The only way militarily to stop Iran’s nuclear program is a ground invasion. The chances of this is very low and it would make Vietnam look like Grenada.Any war with Iran would go down like this:

Israel would attack Iran’s nuclear centers successfully but they would face reprisals. Iran,Syria,Hamas, and Hezbollah would fire missiles at Israel. Israel’s David Sting, and Iron Dome systems would be overwhelmed. the Israeli air force would have to retreat from the north and go south because hezbollah has M-600 missiles,Syria,Iran would fire a multitude of missiles at Israel. Israel would then plan a ground invasion of Gaza and southern Lebanon. Israel at this time will do a bombing devastating blitz of Gaza,Syria, and Lebanon. Syria is getting anti ship[ missiles from Russia which with no doubt be sent to Hezbollah. So Hezbollah would sink at least one Israeli ship like last time. The air war over Lebanon will be very different. with upwards of 40,000 Katyusha rockets stockpiled, Hezbollah still retains the terror option. If Hezbollah’s plentiful M600s were fired in high-volume volleys, the Arrow system could be overwhelmed. If the IRGC [Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps] launched Iranian high-value Shahab-3Bs and variants timed with Hezbollah’s M600s, the Islamic republic could deal telling blows to strategic targets…. Hezbollah is said to be flush with the Russian-made SA-7 “Grail”, the SA-14 “Gremlin” and the SA-18 “Grouse.”
These shoulder-fired SAMs are a point defense for covering mobile missile launchers like the M600 when exposed during the firing and retirement cycle. Also in the bargain came the SA-8 “Gecko”, a mobile launcher with a range of about 16 kilometers and a height of 12,000 meters. Mix these new capabilities with Syria’s new radar system supplied by Tehran… For Israel, the cost of setting back Iran’s nuclear program a few years before dealing decisively with Hezbollah and Syria is now at an all-time high
If Israel goes to invade southern Lebanon they will fall into a trap. The Lebanese military made a clear that if Israel invades Lebanon that they will fight along side Hezbollah. So Israel will face a bloody guerilla campaign. In Gaza it will be an urban warfare nightmare. But Israel goes all out.Remember Israel has been holding back and when it faces Hezbollah and Hamas Israel will unleash the true power of its military.

Iranian special forces and Iraqi Shiite militias will start cutting the long US supply line alone Route Tampa from Kuwait City. Then the Shiites on southern Iraq will start a campaign on attacking the remaining 30,000 US troops. Iranian irregulars would cross the border to give support and man power for the Shiite militia. Shiites in the Iraqi army and police will defect to the side of the militias and start killing US troops. The troops will be able to hold their own but we would be forced to retreat from Iraq. The reason because at this time the Iraqi govt would collapse and all gains that was made from the surge will be un done for good. We could possibly see at least 100-180 US troops being killed when the Shiites cut the supply line temporarily(because our air support will stop the blockage) and start conducting guerrilla attacks on them.

On Afghanistan we could see Iran reluctantly giving the Taliban SAMs. That would make the war effort harder to win.

Iran has formidable asymmetrical retaliatory capabilities. For example, all of these are vulnerable to Iranian sabotage or hundreds of Iranian missiles on the eastern side of the Gulf: from the narrow Straits of Hormuz, which still handles 25 percent of the world’s oil traffic; to Bahrain, the U.S. Fifth Fleet’s headquarters where the population is two-thirds Shiite and the royal family is Sunni; to Dubai, where about 400,000 Iranians live, including many who are “sleeper agents” or favorable to Tehran; to Qatar, now the world’s richest country with per-capita income at $78,000, which supplies the United States with the world’s longest runway and sub-headquarters for CENTCOM, and whose LNG facilities are within short missile range of Iran’s coastal batteries; to Saudi Arabia’s Ras Tanura, the world’s largest oil terminal, and Abqaiq, nerve center of Saudi’s eastern oil field.
So an attack against Iran would be disastrous in multiple levels. Yes conventionally they are a paper tiger, but their strength is in asymmetrical warfare. they will try to destabilizes the region and create as much casualties on us and Israel.

So war with Iran would be a disaster for our economy and the global one. REMEMBER THE ONLY TO STOP IRAN’S NUCLEAR PROJECT IS A GROUND INVASION. AIRSTRIKES AND NAVAL STRIKES WILL NOT DO THE JOB! Iran’s facilities are deep underground. Plus Iran’s navy has SUNBURN missiles and EXOCET missiles that could do serious damage to our navy in the Persian Gulf. So that is why our government will not go to war with Iran. It will be to costly in blood, treasure, would plunge the middle east into further chaos.

Stan; I gotta disagree. Here’s why. Israel will not allow Iran to possess a nuclear weapon capability (fact). Iran will not repudiate their right to nuclear weapons despite their claim that they will not enrich beyond 20% (fact).

Israel has already made clear to both Russia and China that it will not allow Iran to possess a nuclear weapons capability (fact).

Israel will attack Iran (eventually) with a “surgical strike’ to Iranian nuclear facilities. Iran now has weapons grade material for 4 nuclear weapons. It does
not have a delivery system. They probably need 400 to be successful.

Several Russian scientists responsible for assisting Iran died in a plane crash recently. A co-incidence I am sure. Not so co-incidently several Iranian scientists associated with Iran’s nuclear program have been assasinated, gunned down in the street or bombed.

When Iran’s nuclear sites are hit in a first strike by Israel, Iran will move to block the Strait of Hormouz and attack US bases in the Gulf (as they have promised).

When Iran moves to strike US bases in the Gulf, US military forces will destroy Iran’s response capability completely. Israel attacks Iran, Iran responds against US, WE destroy Iran in self defense.

That is the Israeli end game.

However there is no political will for war with Iran right now. And can you imagine oil at $200-245 a barrel? That would crush the US economy. Second Iran is not Iraq. Iran is sitting on a stockpile of Exocet, Sunburn 22 and SS-NX-26 Yakhonts missiles. The 5th Fleet sits in a lake surrounded by Iran’s rugged mountains, and will be decimated by the missiles. The US fleet will arrive in the Indian Ocean, but will be helpless because the straits of Hormuz will be showered by a Phalanx of hundreds of Exocets.

Bombing Iran will not solve problems either. First, its nuclear program is built around deception, redundancy and hardening. Like the recent revelation of a second enrichment built under a mountain on a military base at Qom, Iran only admits to covert efforts at nuclear weaponization when it realizes its cover has been blown. Speaking of which, the facility at Qom also illustrates another feature – the amount of redundancy in its nuclear program. Since the US knew of Natanz, having a second site would have also made sense (and perhaps a third, and fourth, etc, whose existence has not yet been revealed). That way, limited bombing sorties of the sort that crippled the nuclear programs of nations like Syria or Iraq would not work in Iran. They make sure to harden these facilities against US bunker-busters, allowing a margin of safety to account for any black US capabilities.
That would put our navy in a very serious situation.
Iran backs the Shiite militias who in turn have connection with the Iraqi Army and police. If the shiites lead an uprising that would put our troops in a precarious situation.

This isn’t conjecture or speculation, its PROPAGANDA! !

There is no doubt that this could simply be Russian mainstream media molding perceptions as they see fit.

Mac: I’m not so sure. Lybia was undertaken to protect the NWO Europe oil supply as Gaddffi had been making noises about nationalizing all oil and gas. Iraq is divided and no longer a voice or player in the Great Game.

Syria is a big thorn in the side of any Mideast Peace Plan as it funnels Iranian money to Hamas and others. Silence Syria and the Great Game changes.

They are liars, cheats, and thieves. They are heartless and ruthless to a point only matched by the CIA, KBG, and Mossad.

          Check again.

Why stop playing the game if you are winning? The NWO is running the table. They can only be stopped at the US ballot box.

          Never underestimate the NWO.

“Yemen is not a concern, but it is the only country in the world with more assault rifles per capita than US.”

Not a true statement. Israel, Switzerland and a host of other nations have far more assault rifles then the US. Actually true selective fire (full & semi auto) assault rifles are very rare in the US. In the US the semi auto number is approximately 4 million. Call it one per every 80 people. Per capita the US is second only to Yemen. Not true. The US would be far behind on the per capita list.

Kevin2: Here is a link for you. Not the one I read recently, and I do not remember where I read it, but this link will do.

I really don’t want to spend any more time on minutia. There are many links, find one you like. If you look long enough maybe you will find the one I based my statement on.

      http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Middle-East/2011/0218/Yemen-awash-in-guns-wary-about-unrest

Again, I did not mention Israel or Switzerland in my comment. Why do you insist in including them in the “debate” or including all of the other extraneous info about the FBI etc? Not relevent to my statement.

I really don’t care which country has the most guns per capita. The context of the post was in refernce to the threat Yemen might be and our likely conflict with Yemen.

      Yemen is of no consequence.

Kevin2: here is a link that shows Yemen second to the US in firearms by a wide margin, but I suspect that includes hand guns as well.

The weapon of choice in yemen appears to be an ak-47 and that may be the reason the article I read mentioned assault rifle per capital in Yemen ahead of assault weapon ownership in the US.

At any rate, I am done talking about assault weapons. I got mine and lots of ammo that’s all I care about.

      all weapons are “assault” weapons..

Mostly just depends on what they are assaulting..

maybe saying high capacity long range, possible full auto weapon would be more fitting?

      Excellent article.

“The Russian envoy further pointed out that Syria and later Yemen could be NATO’s last steps on the way to launch an attack on Iran.”

      … Russia?
      … China?

“we can consider that this is how World Wars have started in the past. The chess pieces moved around on the board for over a decade before World War I became reality. The same was true for World War II.”

You know it’s “The grand chessboard is in play”, and it’s in its FINAL stages.

This war will be different compared to all others.
