It Is So Dry In California That The Drinking Water Is Literally Starting To Taste Like Dirt

What would you do if the water coming out of your faucets tasted like dirt?  I know how crazy that sounds, but this is actually happening in the capital city of California right now.  Conditions are incredibly dry because of the endless megadrought in the region, and water levels have dropped to very low levels.

As a result, there is a much higher concentration of something called “geosmin” in the water than usual.  For those that are not familiar with “geosmin”, it is one of the organic compounds that makes soil smell the way that it does.  So at this moment, millions of California residents have water coming out of their taps that smells and tastes like dirt.

The only thing that is going to fix this on a permanent basis is if the drought finally ends.  Unfortunately, at this point, the entire state is experiencing at least some level of drought

All of California is in some level of drought, according to the US Drought Monitor, and at increased risk of wildfires. About 33 percent of the state is in “exceptional drought,” the most severe classification.

Water emergencies are expected in exceptional drought, along with severe and widespread crop and pasture loss. That’s exactly what millions of Californians are experiencing.

So it appears that the water in the Sacramento area is going to continue to taste like dirt for the foreseeable future.  And that is really bad news because the water has become so disgusting that even CNN is reporting on it

Something is off about Sacramento’s water. It smells and tastes a little “earthy,” residents are saying — an effect of compounding climate change crises: extreme heat, little to no precipitation and a historic drought that has gripped the region for the better part of a decade.

Up and down the state of California, rivers, streams and reservoirs are drying up. In Sacramento, that has led to an increase in the concentration of geosmin in its drinking water, one of two organic compounds that give soil its characteristic smell.

Needless to say, city officials are well aware of the problem.

But since they apparently can’t do anything about it they are just telling people to add some lemon to the water to make it taste more palatable…

“We realize that it’s unpleasant,” Carlos Eliason, the city’s utilities spokesperson, told CNN. “The earthy taste that some of our customers are experiencing is harmless and can be neutralized by adding some lemon or putting it in the refrigerator.”

    Can you believe that?

We are supposed to have the largest economy on the entire planet, and California is supposed to be our most prosperous state, but officials can’t even stop the water from tasting like dirt.

Meanwhile, California officials are bracing for an absolutely epic wildfire season.  On Tuesday, it was being reported that a dangerous new wildfire in northern California had “exploded in size”

The Lava Fire exploded in size Monday afternoon into the overnight hours Tuesday and has grown to 13,330 acres.

Strong, erratic winds and dry conditions continue to hamper firefighting efforts, according to the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.

We are being told that this could be one of the worst years for wildfires ever.

But of course just about every year in the past decade has turned out to be one of the worst years for wildfires ever.

For the U.S. as a whole, there were 24,056 wildfires up to this point in 2020, and up to this point in 2021 there have been 30,414 wildfires so far.

Now we will be moving into the heart of fire season, and conditions are far, far drier at this stage than they were one year ago at this time.

The “heat dome” which has been absolutely baking the Northwest in recent days is certainly not helping matters.  New all-time record highs have been established in city after city, and that includes both Portland and Seattle

Seattle set a record of 104 degrees Sunday and broke that Monday with 107 degrees, the World Meteorological Organization said. Portland broke the record twice: 108 on Saturday and 112 on Sunday. Many other records tumbled Monday.

Conditions are going to remain very hot and very dry in the Northwest for many days to come.

So it does not appear that any immediate relief is in sight.

Further south, the hot, dry conditions are playing havoc with agricultural production throughout California.  The New York Times says that “vast stretches of land are fallow because there’s no water”, and the long-term outlook for agriculture in the state is extremely bleak…

By 2040, the San Joaquin Valley is projected to lose at least 535,000 acres of agricultural production. That’s more than a tenth of the area farmed.

And if the drought perseveres and no new water can be found, nearly double that amount of land is projected to go idle, with potentially dire consequences for the nation’s food supply. California’s $50 billion agricultural sector supplies two-thirds of the country’s fruits and nuts and more than a third of America’s vegetables — the tomatoes, pistachios, grapes and strawberries that line grocery store shelves from coast to coast.

“Dire consequences for the nation’s food supply”?

I don’t like the sound of that at all.

Unfortunately, this is the future that we are facing.  Dust Bowl conditions are returning, and agricultural production in California is going to be lower than usual for the foreseeable future.

It is almost as if the entire state is under some sort of a curse.  In recent years, the state has been hit by disaster after disaster, and now experts are warning that this endless megadrought is likely to continue to grip the state for many years to come.

So those that currently reside in Sacramento might as well become accustomed to water that tastes like dirt, because a “return to normal” does not appear to be in the cards.

      1. Land has a carrying capacity.

That is, a maximum number of people it can support on its naturally available resources.

California has far exceeded that, it now has to draw on other areas which also have their own carrying capacities to consider.

Obviously, we need more unlimited immigration to increase our population numbers to deal with this.

        • Without mountains of electricity, and reservoirs, and plumbing to move water about in California, they have enough natural water resource to carry 3 million people. Subsistence.

      2. Good reason to stock on food now, going to be a run on product shortly. Also try buying local produce, going in with others having a steer raised and slaughtered. don’t wait for the government to solve it.

      3. The “No Trespassing” signs will be going up.

      4. Figures the water in Cali would taste like dirt considering what a filthy place it has become.
Gee, now just imagine what the water in NY must taste
        like. Hint ?

      5. When a state lives as Sodom lived, they will burn like Sodom burned.

And I might add it will soon be coming to a neighborhood near you.

        The Sovereignty of God
        https://www.chapellibrary.org:8443/pdf/books/sogo.pdf

God unilaterally makes the rules for He is the Sovereign Judge of all the earth and His creation.

Now let me ask this…Do you fear man….? do you fear death….? read on to know Whom to fear!

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge…

do I fear what is happening, no not all, for I know it is the will of the Lord. The Lord is the One who is Sovereign and He is the One who brings about all things. The written word of God is His revealed will, yet He does have a secret will that we cannot know until things unfold and we see for our own eyes what God is doing…and yes this is of God, whether you want to accept that or not makes no difference to me.

Can we use scripture to back up my claims…?

lets start with 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.

We are to learn from all scripture….now lets turn to the book of Acts and the book of Job:

Acts 17:26 and He made from one man, every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined [their] appointed times, and the boundaries of their habitation.

Job 12:23 “He makes the nations great, then destroys them; He enlarges the nations, then leads them away.

Both these verse, from the OT and NT back up what each says…so we see we can learn from the OT and the NT alike…

Are we something to God?…God needs nothing from us…for these words in Isaiah speaks this truth.

Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, He taketh up the isles as a very little thing. And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering. All nations before Him are as nothing ; and they are counted to Him less than nothing, and vanity. To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto Him? (Isa 40:15-18).

How vastly different is the God of Scripture from the “god” of the average pulpit preached today!

The preachers of today are modern day Pharisees, they fill your ears with lies and tell you how good you are to keep the dollars following in…

leave the 501c3 church building and see for yourself that the Lord is God.

I always speak the hard verse that people don’t want to hear, yet God did not save me to only give half of Him, I preach the full counsel of the word of God, I leave nothing out…I do not sugar coat, for sugar coated preaching is dangerous to the soul.

Today we hear about the Love of God and yes we should for the epitome of Love is God for God is Love…yet the other side is the wrath of God and the indignation of God…yet all we hear today is the Love of God, which the devil has crept in the buildings to deceive even the elect.

Just a few scriptures from the Old and New Testament to ponder on.

Isaiah 45:7 The One forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating calamity; I am the LORD who does all these.

Amos 9:10 “All the sinners of My people will die by the sword, Those who say, ‘The calamity will not overtake or confront us.’

Amos 3:6-7 6 If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble? If a calamity occurs in a city has not the LORD done it?
7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets.

Psalm 9:17 The wicked will return to hell, Even all the nations who forget God.

John 3:18 He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

(the pastors of today want to preach John 3:16, but never get to John 3:18 for it does not suit their agenda)

John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

Hebrews 10:26-31 26 For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

James 4:4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

We are on the cusp of all out chaos / calamity. yet these time were spoken of long ago in the Holy Writ, the very word of God, the Son of God, God the Son said these days would come like birth pains upon a woman…they will begin slowly and then increase with intensity over time. God is angry and His patience has worn thin and judgment is coming upon us.

My point of this is to show God is the One who is in charge…like it or not. He will bring about His plan for it was spoken long before the foundation of the world was ever laid….and no man can or will ever stop it…for the Lord God sits in the heavens and does as He pleases.

To the true born again Christian, this should be comforting for we are in the palm of the hand of Jesus and His hand is wrapped by the Hand of the Father and no one can pluck us from His hand and when we die and all will die one day, we will be ushered in to glory with the society of saints….

and for those who don’t know Christ as Lord and Savior, well you to will one day die and it will be a different outcome for you will be cast into the Lake of fire burning with brimstone….Confess now that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart He was raised from the grave and be saved for the one who believes will not be disappointed.

I’ll leave you with the words of the beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.

Luke 12:5 But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He (GOD) has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!

Receive Christ now and fear not.

Confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart He was raised from the grave and be saved from eternal suffering and torment.

Praise be to GOD, One in Three, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, to Him be the glory forevermore. in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

      6. Here in Central N FL, we have gotten about 13 to 15 inches of rain in June, and its pouring rain again right now. Luv to send you some water your way Calif. I’m working on a building addition and need to keep squeegeeing the base floor off, since I only have the framing walls up and do not have the rafters nor roof on yet. Its all treated wood and severe weather plywood, but sheesh. Crazy. Lumber prices are F-n crazy.

      7. If by now, you are not filtering your every day drinking water. You have been in a coma and deserve to drink dirt. Try a Alexipure, Berkey, faucet filter, Sawyer mini, Katy-dine pocket filter. Get at least 5 to 6 types of filters and put this back for the grid down future. Everybody needs to have a rain catch built. This is a great back up watering system and storage for livestock needs, toilet flushing, and your own drinking water. Rain water is pretty pure compared to well water and is also distilled water.

      8. In the desert cities, a little bit of sand, at the bottom of every tumbler, for so long as I can remember.

In the NW, pink, dirty aquarium-like slime.

Elisa Lam was recovered in a water tank atop the Cecil Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Everyone’s water tastes funny.

The Roman’s 13 misquoting ptb are never going to bring you up the level of providence, in which you have the right to exist, allodially, aboriginally, without generational debt peonage.

      9. Consider myself lucky. Have a gravity flow mountain spring water system with about 80 feet of head that has never gone dry since the steam locomotives used it to refill their boilers in the mid 1800s. Sure, with a deluge it may get cloudy for a bit. But my pappy said you need a peck of dirt a year to stay healthy.

      10. News flash! Commifornia water has always tasted like Ass!

        • @Anonymous, I heard the Cali water tastes so bad that 9 out of 10 people prefer the taste of ass ????

      11. Mac, put out resources to filter/treat water again.

      12. Where’s your copy and paste book @ Andrea Iravani? You’re slacking

      13. The weather is warm because they are trying to start unnecessary riots to take our Second Amendment Away. Ammunition is in low stock these days and I think, candidly, with the whole BLM movement, were going to have problems here in Arkansas in the coming months. They limited ammunition that we tried to purchase at Attwoods, and I am praying for peace during these hot conditions.

      14. All of the “ancient architecture” of Israehell is actually Roman. The Dead Sea Scrolls? Not so ancient. Samples dated to the actual time they were “discovered” (produced) sometime near 1946.
