Infectious Mosquitoes Are Popping Up In New Regions

A website which tracks all mosquito species known to transmit human diseases says that it’s got a mounting number of citations.  This means that some deadly mosquitoes may be moving into new ecological niches with greater frequency and bringing their diseases with them to new regions.

ProMED mail has carried more than a dozen such reports since June, all involving mosquito species known to transmit human diseases.  Most reports have concerned the United States, where, for example, Aedes aegypti — the yellow fever mosquito, which also spreads Zika, dengue, and chikungunya — has been turning up in counties in California and Nevada where it had never, or only rarely ever, had been seen before.

ProMED, the Program for Monitoring Emerging Diseases, is overseen by the International Society for Infectious Diseases. It’s moderators disseminate alerts coming in from members, news media, government releases, and other sources. Using notes that put these reports in context, they separate the truly alarming from the mere alarmist.

Over the years, the site has chronicled Public Health England’s hard-fought battle to keep a new invader, Aedes albopictus, the Asian tiger mosquito, out of the “scepter’d isle” that Shakespeare in “Richard II” called “this fortress built by Nature for herself against infection.” –New York Times

In August, The Daily Express newspaper reported that officials had “blitzed a clutch of notorious tiger mosquitoes suspected to have smuggled their way into Britain through the Eurotunnel.” Also taking place in August, ProMED reported that Aedes albopictus also appeared to have established itself in Gibraltar, a British territory on the southern edge of Spain.

The Aaedes albopictus species that had established itself in Italy and southern France, where it has spread chikungunya.  That disease is a rather painful one, accompanied by a fever and known as the “bending up disease.” British health authorities now have more than 30 surveillance stations at ports, airports, and truck stops, and they are all on guard against the mosquito.

Other sightings and reports are not comforting either. The other reports appear to be affecting the entire globe. Some reports have noted mosquito species found for the first time on certain South Pacific islands, or in parts of Europe where harsh winters previously kept them at bay.

    Damn vampires.

Best defense lies in being in a group. Spray yourself with real mosquito repellent. Carry a spray can of phony repellent. Offer it to your “friends”. The mosquitoes go for the alternative food sources. Never admit to having done this. Just kidding, but always bring a can of your own mosquito repellant that you know works. It is a dirty trick but it would probably work.

Yeah, I read years ago, that in the future insects– mosquitos, etc, will show up where they were not located before, as the earth heats up from climate change. (bugs like hot weather!) Also, there will be areas with excessive rainfall and other areas extraordinarily dry– so there will more forest fires and lack of drinking water in some areas and in other areas, so much rain and flooding, people won’t survive all the rain. In other, extreme weather events… like what is happening now– Out West, everything is on fire and on the east coast, horrific storms and rain.

Where I live we have several new invasive mosquito species, three from China and one from India. All these mosquitos are very aggressive and carry all the famous third world diseases. One new species from China is such fun, it will come out in the sun at high noon on a sunny hot day and bite you. No more having to wait for sunset to be swarmed by the little blood suckers. These guys can give you encephalitis, meningitis, malaria etc at high noon. We used to have no mosquito species capable of carrying malaria where I live, we now have nearly a half dozen. Thank you globalism.

I’ve been wondering if the spread of these invasive and potentially dangerous insects is part of an ongoing intentional plan.

And don’t even get me going on bedbugs, which were extinct in the US and Europe until sh!t for brains Obama opened the borders. The Bedbug invasion, another Obama legacy.

      • Concerned-Citizen! says:

O’banana is an enemy of the state and so deserves to HANG I tell you! Those filthy invaders from Africa and the Middle East are filthy dirty rats filled with all of the nice diseases, Hepatitis, HIV, etc, etc…sure, let them in….and send them right to the big industrial ovens waiting for their dirty no good asses!

  6. Jim in Va. says:

These sqeeters are coming in on ships full pf products from all over the world. West Nile Virus was spread by ones coming in from the middle east others came in from Asia in tires…..never ends. Too many people and products traveling and coming in contact with each other. many different insects and invasive plants are brought in that way.

  7. Warchild Dammit! says:

Invasive mosquitoes?!Call em what they are, illegal immigrants!

  8. Frank Thoughts says:

The malaria larve are coming from Africa and mosquitos are picking it up from the migrants. Other tropical diseases are coming in with the migrants as well. HIV/AIDS is exploding and there is an explosion in STDs. The cost to treat these diseases is adding to the healthcare burden.

But, hey, you MIGHT get cheaper crap at the store so it is all worth it in the end. You can always pop those anti-retro virals as you drag your butt to your job to pay for the healthcare and the migrants!
