Government Sets Its Sights on Private Retirement Accounts: “Giant Effort to Redistribute the Wealth of America’s Older Citizens”

A new effort by the Obama administration, Congress, the Treasury Department and labor unions aims to fundamentally alter how Americans plan and save for retirement.

Warnings have been popping up over the last several years about the possibility of re-appropriating the $3.5 Trillion sitting in private retirement and spreading those funds around to Americans who are deemed less fortunate.

This couldn’t possibly happen in America, right? At one time, most Americans also believed heath care mandates that force Americans at the barrel of a gun to surrender portions of their earnings into a universal system for all would never happen. Well, it did.

And now, those who would control and regulate every aspect of our lives are making a new push; one whose efforts will ultimately end in the seizure and redistribution the personal retirement savings of every American who has ever put money into a 401(k) or IRA.

This is no longer in the realm of conspiracy, but rather, public record.

A recent hearing sponsored by the Treasury and Labor Departments marked the beginning of the Obama Administration’s effort to nationalize the nation’s pension system and to eliminate private retirement accounts including IRA’s and 401k plans, NSC is warning.

The hearing, held in the Labor Department’s main auditorium, was monitored by NSC staff and featured a line up of left-wing activists including one representative of the AFL-CIO who advocated for more government regulation over private retirement accounts and even the establishment of government-sponsored annuities that would take the place of 401k plans.

“This hearing was set up to explore why Americans are not saving as much for their retirement as they could,” explains National Seniors Council National Director Robert Crone, “However, it is clear that this is the first step towards a government takeover. It feels just like the beginning of the debate over health care and we all know how that ended up.

A representative of the liberal Pension Rights Center, Rebecca Davis, testified that the government needs to get involved because 401k plans and IRAs are unfair to poor people. She demanded the Obama administration set up a “government-sponsored program administered by the PBGC (the governments’ Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation).”

Such “reforms” would effectively end private retirement accounts in America, Crone warns.

“These people want the government to require that ultimately all Americans buy these government annuities instead of saving or investing on their own. The Government could then take these trillions of dollars and redistribute it through this new national retirement system.

“This effort ultimately is designed to grab the retirement nest eggs of America’s senior citizens. This new government annuity scheme, even if it is at first optional, will turn into a giant effort to redistribute the wealth of America’s older citizens,” explains Crone. “This scheme mirrors what I expect the President will try to do with Social Security. He wants to turn that program into a welfare program, too.”

    Via: National Seniors Council

With the re-election of President Obama, a majority Democrat Senate and powerful organization and lobbying from labor unions, we can fully expect legislation that will shift private accounts into the public coffers  to become reality in the not too distant future.

In fact, the push to mold the perceptions surrounding this issue is already on, as highlighted in a recent Market Watch article which claims to explain the 10 Things 401(k) Plans Won’t Tell You.

Did you know, for example, that 401(k) plans aren’t supposed to provide you with full retirement benefits, and that they were originally intended to be “mere supplements” to other plans, and that they only “benefit the rich?” Not only that, but according to the article, no one can really tell you how much money you’re going to need; all of those math formulas and expert calculations were all wrong. Additionally, there are so many hidden fees that you’re losing hundreds of thousands of dollars to Wall Street (most of us knew that one).

And all this time, the millions of Americans who contributed their money to these accounts over the last three decades were under the impression that their accounts would one day grow into a retirement nest egg from which retirees could spend their days in comfort and relaxation.

Nope. We had it all wrong. Private retirement accounts were never actually designed to ensure that you could retire! Only a government managed retirement plan can ensure that you will have the money you need when you turn 59 1/2. Only they will be able to ensure you don’t pay excessive, hidden fees (even though they could have created legislation to require firms to overtly disclose this information int he first place). And, only the government can provide 100% full retirement coverage, not just supplemental funds. Oh, and they also know WHEN you should retire, currently 65 years of age.

It’s on folks. They are going to hit Americans from all angles on this one.

First, the political hearings that will claim only the rich are benefiting from private retirement accounts.

Then they’ll point out how stock market crashes and volatility put your money at risk. In fact, if we do have another market crash, look for this to be a key reverberation.

Then they put the spin machine into action, so that you think you’re getting unbiased analysis and truth.

Then they open the guilt spigot and make those who have personal retirement savings wonder if they are being greedy, and those who don’t have savings will direct their anger not just at the rich, but anyone who has put any money away.

Finally, they will pass a bill, which we have to pass first in order to know what’s in it, and it’ll be a done deal.

The government of this country is coming for everything they can get their hands on.

It it isn’t in your hand right now, it’s not yours.  Don’t count on anything in a bank or any kind of  ”fund” or “plan” because it’s just NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

They might be going after the richer folks today but they’ll be going after Social Security next.

There’s a reason the Social Security Administration is getting armed!

IRA’s were sold from the beginning as a way to gain corp access to one day enact this theft of property.

Daisy is right.  If you can’t touch it, it ain’t real.  If you don’t hold it, it’s not yours.

The current theft is the culmination of the fraud set forth decades ago.  Business as usual.

        • IRAs and 401k plans are just investments.

Like any investment, it is merely legalized gambling with good odds and a nice pre-tax option of paying into it.

Anyone with an IQ above room temperature knows (or should) that a 401k and/or IRA is not a guarantee of anything. Anyone who had one of these and kept an eye on it over the past few years should have had that realized to them in full by now.

No conspiracy required, really… just common sense. You simply cannot rely on any secular entity to help you secure you in your old age. You’re stuck with doing that yourself.

The big problem is that this new legislation will keep the beast alive for longer.  It will have longer to indoctrinate the youth while older libertarians die out. It will have longer to build its army of jackbooted thugs while old fashioned peace officers and armed servicemen are retired from service.

            etc

            etc

            etc

I once wished for a long time to prep, but though I’m not nearly done getting squared away I’ve changed my mind.

            O.D. Your right!

This has been know prior to the inception of these “plans.” Heck just the word “plan” coming from a politician sounds evil. The Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation will be founded and people will flock to it like flies to shit. The American public will cry to be part of it. They need to take another hit to their savings first but they will come. The guarantee is the key! They will word it to draw you in.

            Pension……= For you!

            Benefit…….= On someone else’s dime.

Guarantee….= Faith in the dollar and the government will make sure you get yours.

Corporation..= Yes get your money back from the corporations.

They will guarantee to keep up with inflation, guarantee to always be safe investments. Guaranteed by the faith of the almighty US and Ben’s printing machine. They will scare the sheep into the pen and just slaughter them. Yes that is a guarantee! Sad thing is my friend. They, the people will demand they get it and the Ben and Barry bank will give it to them. Remember Ben has a printing press and the Barry has your tax money. Hell sounds great when you top it of with free health care. Dang, there I go again with that FREE word. You see, the people will see it as something for them. They will be lead to believe the cost guarantee will be from the corporations. The greedy mind will think…..Heck I pay in $1 and get $2 back, Perfect! This is just too easy. Hell I could run a country into the ground as well as the next guy.

Consider this. Money is a “medium of exchange.” Exchange of what? Goods. Yes, but it is also a medium of exchange for time, the hours of your life.

When somebody steals your stuff, your money, they are stealing the hours of your life, irreplaceable hours that you will never get back. So, when somebody steals your stuff, your money, they are killing you slow motion.

We all need to protect our lives. We need to punish those who are stealing the irreplaceable hours of our lives. These thefts are economic crimes against humanity.  These thefts are CAPITAL crimes against humanity—no matter that the Master Race banksters teach that we goyim are not human so can be deceived, looted, raped, and murdered with impunity.

We are human. We must defend ourselves and punish the aggressors.

The ‘aggressors’ will be neighbors who come for your goods when shtf that would otherwise just have been peaceful neighbors.

OK I watched the first bit of the speech and thought she was right on the money, that is until she talked about usury and fractional reserve banking. I will touch on these two subjects as I feel she is dead wrong.

            1) Fractional reserve banking would work as long as the assets are intact and always will be. Once an asset dies then what? Oh thats right, issue a bank bond to cover the difference. And where is that money supposed to come from? See it snowball?

            2) Usury (interest) needs to come from somewhere. If I have $100 and loan it to you, where the heck is the interest supposed to come from? Thats right, it is created out of thin air and therefore debasing the initial $100 loaned in the first place. It is a balloon over time and then pops or BANGS! Usury is the reason for higher inflation levels beyond that of supply and demand of a product. I disagree with her on these points and could not stomach any more of the drivel. I will not be a part of a “rebuilding” of a society of the same crap we are dealing with now. She thinks somehow EVERYONE is going to get a pure heart and do what is right “after a collapse”, that is foolish thinking since man has sin in his heart.

0% interest is the only way since you are not gaining anything on the back of another individual. It leaves no incentive to hoard money, but rather throw it back into the system VIA purchase or another business start-up. Money is a means of barter and nothing more. Usury is hokum and I will not have anything to do with it.

She mentions the parable of the talent so here is mine.

            Exodus 22:25

If you lend money to any of my people who is poor among you, you shall not be to him as a lender, neither shall you charge him interest.

And yet the poor are the most targeted with credit that they cant possibly pay back with low wages.

Daisy, my wife and I can assure you through our experience that they are ALREADY after “your” Social Security. The problem that people have it seems, is one of perceiving the truth: that ANY time you hand over money to the government, it becomes THEIR money, not YOURS.

        Please let me explain.

My wife and I have for years not believed a single word of the promises politicians and others have made about “lock boxes” and “trust funds” and other such rot about Social Security. All we knew is that there simply wasn’t going to be enough money left over for us to get anything out of Social Security. Now that I am in my mid forties and shes late thirties, we have seen nothing to make us feel any more confident in their empty boats and promises.

But we figured, what the hell, we’re paying and our parents will at least benefit  right? We both love our mom and dad, so at least we can help them by our paying in, right?

Not so fast, professor.. here’s what actually happened.

My wife’s dad had been sick with cancer for some time. Bad genes, bad diet, bad luck: no matter how you slice it, it sucked ass. He manages to claw his way to retirement; no easy thing , he could have died any number of times before he got that far. He lives for a few years, collects “his” Social Security, then he dies. On December 24. Two things happen:

        A) My wife’s mom’s place of work are being unconscionable ball breakers about her “getting back to work”. We barely had time to get my father in law buried, and they want her back at work in a factory. Merry Christmas!

        B) As it turns out, that shit factory job made “too much money” (wtf?!!??!!!?) for my mother in law to collect her husband’s Social Security. So the government cuts her off. Did I mention he was a veteran? Did I mention they worked their asses off since they were teeenagers? Did I mention their once solidly working class neighborhood is being engulfed with the usual moochers and gimme girls? (Don’t worry though….all the food groups are represented there, and there’s plenty of useless POS of all colors to squat there with their hands out)

        Happy New Year!

I have made several conclusions from this:

        A) Any time the government has something, and they’ve “promised” to give it to you, its not really yours

        B) If the government wants to legally steal “your” IRA and use it in some half assed “rescue” mission to try and save Social Security, they will

        C) When it doesn’t work, they’ll blame it on Bush, or House Republicans, or bad weather. Millions of people who’ve just been ass raped by “their” government will nod their heads in agreement, even they massage their sore bums

        D) I ain’t waiting to find out whats going to happen to IRAs

Why did they buy these bonds?  To pay for the government debt.

Who will be immediately paid back when the 401K’s and IRA’s are “nationalized”?  Do you think they will go in a “lock box”?

Same with higher taxes and anything else they can get their grubby hands on.  Austerity anyone?

I got very lucky and put everything into a Roth years ago.  Just in the past year, liquidated it, bought property and REAL ASSETS and I’m wrapping up my other trading account before the year is out. It felt good to take the big profits and flip the IRS the bird on no capital gains tax.

It’s over. I’m done with it. I’m just going to sit on metal and wait. I would advise others to do the same. There is not going to be a home by the golf course, big boats, trips to Europe in your future if you hang in there with Wall St and the feds. You are going to get royally and totally effed up.

Pull out now while you have the chance and just save in metal. Not only are you likely to do well over time, you will make a very worthwhile statement about the system.

It’s time for all this to collapse. Just let it collapse and let the chips fall where they may. Things are not going to get better, get back to normal if we just hang on a bit longer. Burn it all down to the bare ashes and start over. I’ll take my chances…

You are so right!  I never joined the 401k or any mutual fund club.  I could see that even if things just continued as they were pre 2007, there was going to be a glut of sellers of stocks and big homes and a lot of retired trying to downsize at the same time.(70 million over 15 years.)  Who were going to buy those big houses and stocks? Their kids were not even able to pay their student loans..lol.

Then 2007 happened and I saw the writing on the wall. Those stocks were going to useless when they were needed.  Ditto the big houses.  And the young are trying to survive, not buy stock and McMansions.

Then seeing the trillions parked in these funds and the way the government was trying to survive by printing Charmin that looked like dollars, I knew the big grab was coming.  Real estate (paid for), gold/silver, cash, useful skills and good health were the new/old investments for the future.  Retirement will just be a forgotten word for our grand kids.

Sold the house over 2 years ago, held out looking for something like this. Time is short, location works for  my needs, above-mentioned provides a strong core to build upon.

Take that tax hit NOW and put the 401k to work for you; it will only cost you more in January to cash it out.

Read Surviving Economic Collapse in Argentina. The author lived through it. He recommended more than one “safe” One is locatable and has “some stuff” while the real safe is undetected and has the main stuff.

“The feds are really desperate now for any source of revenue to keep the freeloader programs funded”

Don’t be so hard on many of the recipients. Many possibly most were very hard working people that lost their jobs due to Free Trade agreements with slave labor nations. In “the day” they paid plenty of taxes. Uncle Sam is getting at wits end maintaining political stability. The power elite need that stability maintained at all cost so that their bully boy enforcer the US Military can maintain global dominance. Let things get too bad and those troops will be pulled from around the world to maintain order at home and if things get even worse the infrastructure to maintain them collapses.

Uncle Sam will get funds from anywhere it can but desires not to loose political stability while trying to maintain political stability. Historically a hungry underclass will become far more violent than an upper and middle class that looses it’s savings but has a full belly. The powers to be know damn right well that Bernie Madoff would be murdered in the inner city for ripping someone off for $20 but would survive unscathed ripping off the middle and upper class for $170 billion.

The ultra rich taxes the upper and middle to pay the poor so the poor don’t revolt against the ultra rich.

We are drawing on a 401K as retirees and have been for several years. It is direct deposited.  There are lower income people with 401k’s that make in the mid 30k range (brother, friends); the  employer matches a percentage and employees choose what amount is taken out of their paycheck..this is fair, and if people don’t save as much over the years, then too bad for them.  Savers shouldn’t be penalized to redistribute to those who wasted their money on partying, gambling, and other vices.  The gov needs to butt out; this has gone too far even just talking about  making it a law (annuitites).

I retire in 5 weeks, I’ll start cashing out my plan then, pay the taxes and live on the pension.  The left has been talking about doing this for decades, when you die your property goes to the government for redistribution, your pension plan is their piggy bank, and your income from work or investments is theirs to tax at whatever rate they want.  With Obama in his final 4 years, they know they have only a short time to get what they want through Congress and into law.  Once that’s done, we are toast.

We can undo the damage done, but I’m in fear of the next few short years.

The article is just plain nonsense.  IF, and that’s a big if, the government were to seize all 401k’s what the next step?  Most of the money is in stocks and various bonds. Will they keep these investments and sell/reallocate some form of government bonds in their place? What about the market crashes they said they feared?  Do they then sell all of the stocks and bonds to get the much needed money so that they can issue thier bonds to us instead? With trillions of dollars invested this would literally crash the markets around the world.  Even if the government sold things off slowly, everyone would be wise to it and offer only rock-bottom prices for the the sales of “our” stocks and bonds. Any way you slice it, the government would be killing our own economy as well as the that of much of the rest of the world.  This is a lose-lose-lose situation.  But just in case, I’m not wating anymore and I’m starting to withdraw some of my money the first day I’m eligible. If the government does start any serious actions I’m going to take the whole thing at once and not wait to get caught in the stampede.

Prepping for retirement now equals being the grey man through your working life while saving pm’s (Daisy is right) and raising your children to help you when you are too old to work.  Multi-generational households are gonna have to become the cultural norm once more – let’s just hope the wanton destruction wrought upon the family unit over the last 50 years can be reversed.

In the 3rd world it’s still common for Grandparents to reside in the same home as their Grandkids, just as it was in the West until very recently.  Luckily the elder generations have never been so needed to teach the young those lost survival skills as they are today, so this is an arrangement that could save lives post shtf, and in doing so ensure our eventual triumph over those evil forces hell bent on Agenda 21 etc.

I can just hear the conversation……between the elite…

Think, Rockefellers, and the NWO guys..

In the 60s… we’ll have this war, just like Korea..and that will keep our military industrial base going…then in the 70s…we’ll devalue the dollar to address the debts…  In the 80…. more of the same… The 90s will be a .com bubble…then followed by a real estate…

All the while, folks and business will dump money like fools into 401k and IRA….and then we’ll crash the dollar, get a socialist in office…then steal it all.   We’ll take over the auto, bank, healthcare and energy industries.

All the while…picking on the patriotic folks and we’ll destroy their national sovereignty .  Then we’ll fry the dollar, crank up gas…and then impose green taxes.  We’ll have some fast bastard go around the world with some crazy powerpoint on global warming..but it will really be us and our chemtrails.

Then these will create droughts and massive weather fluxutations.

We’ll have our friends at Monsanto create aluminum resistant corn and wheat…then cause massive crop failures…everyone will have to buy our food.

Again….cranking up the price.  About that time..the dollar will be fucked with and we’ll steal the 401k and IRA life savings of the American people.

So make sure you put all your money after 2000 into gold and silver.

It’s the only real form of money.

Then we’ll start up ww3 in the mideast and wipe out a few billion useless eaters who are sucking up our oxygen.  The aids virus we released did not do a good enough job.  So we’ll double our efforts on some crazy flus.

Eventually we’ll chip everyone and we’ll be able to track everything…we’ll have chips in their cars, complete control.

The only group that could stop us is the NRA an a rogue military take over.

But then we’ll just hit the lead generals with some contrived sex scandal.  ha.

We run everything.  To distract we’ll have black friday shopping earlier.

        Any questions?

No. those are Al’s donuts…don’t touch them.

        What?

You don’t believe in chem trails?   Are you dumb?  The sky is not blue anymore. Lookup.  Clean your glasses.

        Any other business?

Oh Hillary?  We’ll make her head of our NWO finance area.    Put her in a pants suit and she can sell anything to the soccer Moms.

Obama?   He’s our boy.  He suckered the white voters into voting for him.

Yeah, all our affirmative action Kumbya for 25 years really did a job on them.

Did you see the latest Disney movie?  The came man thing..  we make the dad, the white man out to be a real loser.    Next we’ll disarm him.  We did it in England and Austrailia.   Middle aged people don’t revolt.  They are too comfortable, fat and lazy.

        That concludes this Bilderberg meeting.

ps.  Don’t forget…anyone asks you about “chemtrails”…those are just jet contrails…exhause and steam….don’t forget to laugh and make sure you get the word “conspiracy” in there and say it in such a way that they are nuts.

For your own families chemtrail protection…  Get a berkey water filter, take apple pectin to remove the metal and take handfuls of vitamins.  You should be fine.

        …..

FOLKS, the hearts of men have always been evil.   So plan your life like you really understand that people want to enslave you.  Don’t fall for the crap on TV.

Can you imagine the total collapse of all these retirement accounts and the US dollar because of a catastrophe?  This can of course be war, but it could be the New Madrid fault that does this, along with other faults going to compound this.  A few weeks ago they had some activity on the south end of the New Madrid fault.  Today you had a 3.6 on the north end of the New Madrid in what is called the Ozark Dome.  Whenever you have earthquakes on the edges of a major fault like this it is showing something is gearing up.  Earthquakes like this ON the fault would show it was not that locked.  On the fringes of it like this shows the fault is transferring some the built up energy away from the main fault.

Copperhead, anymore news on the USGS.  Bet after this 3.6 in Illinois just northeast of the New Madrid and the USGS might be spending Turkey Day out in the field.  IF you see USGS working on Thanksgiving monitoring what is going on, LOOK OUT!  Maybe you or others might let us know if this is the case.

Or maybe this is part of the end of the world from the Mayan predictions since Mount Doom supposedly marked the end of the Age of the Elves and the Beginning of the Age of Men. Could this be signaling the end of the Age of Men? Has anyone been dropping any rings of power in the volcano or are the PTB still looking for the current ring bearer? Any ideas?

Oh, wait, the last time it erupted was just 1975. Maybe it’s nothing serious after all.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 6 Thumb down 5

        • Be informed says:

@ Merree.  I am fairly sure that the next super volcano will come from the southern hemisphere, and one of those locations sure seems like it could be New Zealand.  I think more in the line of Mt. Taupo than anything else, and of course Toba and a couple of others around Indonesia and the south seas.  For a volcnic eruption to affect the climate and thus the food supply and the world economic well being, it has got to be bare minimum a VEI 7 (volcanic explosive index).  Tambora erupted in 1815 and caused the min-ice age.  VEI 7 is not a super volcano but would drop the temperature and cause climate problems around the world. VEI 8 is a super volcano.

Plate collisons lead to volcanoes, and that 8.6 this past spring was a catastrophic plate collison as this was the largest horizontal earthquake on record.  Some seismich sites had it pegged at 8.7.  I don’t know about the Mayans, but I do know about the strange happenings and the records being shattered over and over again this century.  I so much like looking at numbers and statistics, and much of this shows something is coming.

Many people feel that the economy is going to implode in on itself from its own weight of debt, could be.  I think it will be a catastrophic event that tips it over.  This could be a full scale Middle East war, but it could also be a series of geological upheavals, or just ONE.  It could also be the climate as the movie “The Day After Tomorrow” had some truth in it.  The planet balances itself, and when something such as the ocean water becomes too salty or not salty enough the current changes.  Back in the 1960′s there was much study about what would happen if someone altered the Gulf Stream, not in the Caribbean, but down on the coastline of Natal, Brazil where it really starts its northward track.

It was thought that if this could be slowed down or stopped it could be used against the Soviets to literally freeze them out because of the warm current is what keeps Europe from not looking like soouthern Canada to Alaska.  This was scrapped mainly not so much because of Europe, but because the Gulf Current is also what keeps the southeast moist and not looking like the desert region of the southwest.  Weather wars now on are a most more sophisticated level now with the U.S., China and Russia.

The natural equation behind this is that the ice caps are melting in the north and this means a less salty ocean, more diluted, and this could shut off the Gulf Stream completely.  This will in turn lead to much colder temperatures and a build up of ice once again.  This will also lead to very powerful hurricanes as hurricanes are nature’s air conditioners.  To have 3 hurricanes, Katrina, Rita, and Wilma in one year in which ALL of them were Category 6 hurricanes, if the pressure and winds speeds were factored into the current scale to Category 6, this is a sure sign something is out of whack.  Wilma had the lowest pressure ever in the Atlantic basin, and ALL 3 had winds speeds at one point of at least 190 mph sustained.  Category 5 is 155 mph or more, these would have been Category 6.

The climate can hurt the economy in very ugly ways.  Intense cold can devastate crops in sun belts.  Widespread flooding, the type of flloding in which a front, low pressure system just sits there and dumps 30 inches or more of rain can cost hundreds of billions or more.  True super storms can paralyze transporation.

Then there is the infamous EMP from the Sun that reaches solar maximum next year and maybe 2014 also.  In other words, people don’t see what Mother Nature can to the economic well being of the planet.

The masses have this notion that ALL acts of nature are recoverable and their nest egss in the ghostly world of finances are ALWAYS safe.  In one day, a weekend call it, everything can be fried or made irrevelent that is in stocks or the bank.  Forget a bank holiday if there are no more banks.  It can happen so quickly, and the person that has put away for their retirement will not even get to taste a single bit of benefits from it.  All the while their pantry is empty and their lousy plastic credit card is totally worthless to purchase anything.   The person that was well off for a happy retirement later is now reduced to begging for scraps of food after true SHTF, or has to eat grass or tree bark like some insect.

I think this article shows that there is no real stability in what you cannot feel and touch with your own two hands, like the useable food, water, and other necessitites that the wise prepper/survivalist, so often unfairly condemned, has sacrificed for and put away.  Hurricane Sandy was peanuts in comparison to what could easily happen from nature, easily.   Preapartion for true catastrophes is being money wise.

This talk actually started in the Clinton years.

I was big on IRA’s in the 80′s-90′s…..had individual IRA and SEP-IRA ( self employed ), but I came to realize when the politicians backs were against the wall, financially, they would go after this pot, and cashed in my IRA’s almost 10 years ago….paid taxes and penalties.  Put it in physically held silver at $6/oz average, and preps like solar panels and small farm food production. Told everyone I know to do the same.  Almost none did.

In the future, they are gonna take you retirement pot, raise your electric rates/food costs/water/sewer/etc. thru the roof.  There is still a narrow window of opportunity to do something about it, but that window is rapidly closing, and then folks will be screwed.

Getting out of fiat money and into tangibles is the right move whether or not you think they will confiscate IRAs and 401k accounts.    They’re feeding fiat money into the banks to replace bad loans on those banks’ balance sheets, and so far it hasn’t led to hyperinflation, just good old 2% a year inflation.  But and that’s enough.   If you know you will need it in the next 10 years, buy it now and put it away, unless it’s perishable.

I’ve never understood the logic of 401k’s and such.

I do understand the allure and I get the mechanics of it, but I’ve always seen it as a more of a game of chance with the possibility of gambling away your hard earned money.

My mindset was always that I would rather stash away a little extra at home to be used for my eventual retirement rather than give it to someone to be invested (gambled away) even if that meant I list out on the “company match”. I was always dubious of 401k’s because in my opinion, even if the company matches all or some of your investment you’re basically gambling on the chance for “free money”. There is no such thing as a free anything. Id you haven’t put it away and held it yourself then it’s not yours. Everything I gave and everything I’ve saved has been because I bought it or I stuffed it under my mattress.

My parents have for many years tried in vain to get me to set up a 401k or something because they fear I will have nothing for retirement.

I’m in my late 30′a now and still have money put away (that has been going towards preps rather than sitting until retirement, but I have set myself up now to either survive SHTF or retirement if SHTF doesn’t happen.

My parent’s on the other hand are screwed. My father is 67 and his 401k’s and investments are in the crapper. He trusted the 401k system and now he has nothing left so his only hope of a somewhat comfortable retirement will require him to continue working well into his 70′s and even after that he’ll still probably have to work part time to make ends meet.

If there is no SHTF and you want to save money to retire, then cash your paycheck and put some of that cash in a safe at home and don’t touch it until retirement…don’t join a 401k because you think you’d get more money in the end. If you save it yourself it’s yours, if you put it in a 401k you’re just giving some random stranger your hard earned cash. Would you hand a stranger on the street a hundred dollar bill because they promise to match the amount and give you $200 back when you retire? No because that would be stupid.

Why is it so hard for people to grasp that fact????

@ JustOneGuy.  I looked up the Schumann Effects and oh boy, THAT’S WHAT I THOUGHT.  As the ionosphere is having holes punched into it for the high frequency waves, as HAARP is highly suspect of this, and allows geomagnetic storms to effect the surface of the planet more so.   Human brain wave rhythms are truly affected by this, especially during higher periods of solar activity.  A war could be easier to start when the Sun is belching up flares and other explosions that send these high speed particles towards the planet.

You bet your daily solar reports help to forecast the way people will react on the planet, and the increase or decrease of worldwide tensions.  This could be a very good heads up for everyone trying to gets the advantage on a true international crisis.   For anyone interested in the studies behind this please see the following:  http://biophysics.50megs.com/guest_book.html

Please beware that it is very long and extremely detailed about the effects of high frequency magnetic waves, it is worth reading about for those that have the time and patience.

        Hi Bi,

I see you ‘got the message’ on that tremor up in Illinois; Is that anywhere proximate to the northern terminus of the NMF? If so I’m going to begin to feel a LITTLE nervous all things considered…I’m not ON that fault but it’s close enough that we’d be ‘affected’ here where I am.

Glad the paper was useful, I’m not to sure about eveyone picking on HAARP all the time though. HAARP is a primary tool being used daily to measure a WIDE variey of solar related variables, not the least of which is the installation’s magnetometer. Aside from that it also – I believe – serves as an ELF trasnmitter for the US Navy…Hell, I’ve driven past the place on a previous trip past Gakona, Alaska and stopped to take some beautiful pictures at and around it. So…..

Did you manage to get/find the second paper I mentioned? It gives a graphical timeline that’s rather interesting going back quite some ways. The original piece I mentioned still eludes me…I might be searching on the wrong ‘tack’  as they say….the original did mention the Stock Market repeatedly quite a bit, though that wasn’t the focus as I remember. If Schumann is right then I’m afraid that tonight might be a rather bad night for a lot of people….we’ve had two M-Class flares today (over the last 14 hours or so) I’ll be providing the ‘Evening Solar Report’ here in about an hour or so with specifics then. Anywho, glad to help, bear me in mind with respect to that Illinois earthquake… I’m VERY interrested in your thoughts thereon. Gotta go, be back in a bit Friend.

I suspect the “best we can hope for” case scenario would be a sort of means testing whereby if you have money in a 401K or IRA, this will disqualify you from receiving your fair share (whatever that is) of any remaining social security benefits.

Thus, you will indirectly be “taxed” on your your IRAs and 401Ks.

So far, I “think” I got smart about 5 years ago when I stopped contributing into an  IRA:

Tax deferral is meaningless if your investments don’t earn any dividends or capital gains, or if your earnings are nominally higher but in the end diminished in purchasing power through inflation.

Feel sorry for people  who bought into annuities. I think most of these will be a big bust, if not from inflation , but possibly from taxes.

You never know how much the govt will tax you when you reach eligibility for retirement.  Looks like it will be higher all other things being equal.

Which is why during the Bush years and these past 4 Obama years, I decided to not “invest” in IRA…I’d rather pay the taxes (while they were relatively lower) and be done with it.

43% silver, the rest in gold.  100 oz bars in the Imperial bank of Canada.

ps.  Yes I know…own physical…but as my money is locked in 401k…this is the only alternative.  I do keep silver.  about 230 oz so far.

My big fear is a govt. nationalization by Obama.  Then they will sell it off, give me my crappy 2.75% as inflation rages into the double digits.

      Can I just say this…

I don’t give a fuck about the poor.  Lazy scmucks.   Can you believe they give them cell phones now.   I don’t even have one.  UnREAL!!!

Do they care about me when I’m working past midnight 7 days a week trying to better myself.  Let the fuckers go hungry for a while.

      OBAMA IS JUST A SOCIALIST!

So….   I say…we all just stop spending money.  No vacations for four years.

No Disney, no new car, no eating out.  Just stay home and pay down debt.

ps.  AMC theaters is now owned by the Chinese….boycott time!!!

I think it might be time for all of the working class of America to pull in the pocket book..then when the socialist empire comes crashing down…it will be on Obummers fat head.

A long time ago, 25 years ago… a very old wise businessman told me that they would take over the 401k and IRA to prop up Social Security.  He advised me to only put the min. in.  That’s what I did.  Instead…I put it into real estate.

I bought a double and rent the upstairs.  Now I get $10k a year for life!!!

      When I’m 59.5…I’ll sell it…take the one time shot….tax free…if it’s still there…

Then buy 5 rental houses for my kid and set up a real estate trust…her retirement.

At my retirement…  I’ll live low and cheap…and pour every penny into rental property for my kid.  I’ll continue to work late into the night and hope that America plans for the generations ahead.  I’ll patch walls, paint, fix plumbing and do what I can to make sure my child is no a debt slave like we were.

I hate the banks.  When we bought out house…  8.5%…now look at the rate.

We were the generation behind the age wave…the boomers.  They drove the prices up on us.  I can only hope they medically experiment on these scum…so they will know how to fix my ass when I get there…ha.  Hey, allow me one slight at that selfish generation!!!  Take your thumbs down and you know where you can stick it!  ha

ps. My own parents can fuck off…they spent hundreds of K on travel, three(3) RVs and a summer home.   They could give a shit less about their grand kids.

One day I’ll be at the funeral home and the funeral director will tell me they are going to close the casket in a low whisper  I will say… YEAH…SLAM IT!  ha

The greatest generation gave birth to the worst generation.

It was the silent generation that sold off the American factories.

The boomers helped, but mostly lived off of credit cards as well as my generation..x.   We’ve had to live in a currency collapse.  The dollar fell by 44% since 2000.  Go google the ST. LOUIS FEDERAL RESERVER MONETARY BASE.  The graph looks like Weimar Germany…  we’ll close to a collapse within 10 years.   Better stock dry goods.  The canned goods will be out of date.

I hope America collapses…then the people that are real patriots will take it back over.   No way you can win ….SO….  prep up…  stock up on silver and gold.

If Obama does a Rosevelt gold nationalization… my 401k CEF stock might go through the roof…that is if he does not confiscate it first.

I am one of those “baby boomers” you decided to break-bad on so let me point out a few things: I’m debt free. I am pre-retirement age but no longer in the ‘working class’ — by choice. I stayed home with my 3 children before it was a “fad”, in fact, because I was in a career and chucked-it to be a  “SAHM” and “housewife”, I was ridiculed. No matter….I was ridiculed when I left the ‘burbs back in the 80s because I’d figured out the ‘rat race’ was insane and chucked-it, too. I partially homeschooled and was ridiculed for that too. Back in the 80s, we set out to ‘live off the land’. That was NOT cool then, either. So here we are debt-free, almost self-reliant, certainly self-sufficient with foods because we raise enough that we could subsist 100% on our own foods. We buy extra foods now to stock for the certain collapse here in the US. In all those years, I put myself through college, bought and sold real estate, didn’t live off of credit cards, paid the 30 year mortgage in 16 years, didn’t take vacations or buy new cars or fancy anything. Still don’t. But you think I should have medical experiments done to me? FUCK YOU.

Your ignorance shows that you haven’t even figured out why in hell TPTB and all branches of all government systems did not prepare adequately for a demographic like the “baby boomer generation” when the facts were staring straight at them. Our numbers have been around for 50+ years, our population is no secret.

Sounds to me like you have a personal axe to grind with your parents so you’re in all-assault mode. And in reference to the ignorant comment about us being a “selfish generation”, look in the mirror, kiddo. Your hypocritical ideology is nothing short of Progressivism since you want them to share their wealth with you. You are angry at your parents and how they have decided to spend their money. Big hint: THEY EARNED THEIR WEALTH. YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO IT. Unless by their graciousness and willingness to share, what they do with their money isn’t your business.  Did it occur to you that they are not providing to you because they see you as a selfish child?

Mordecai, I’ve already been using cash all my life to get what I need for myself.  I don’t even have the first dollar’s worth of personal credit.  The only time I ever tried to use credit was back in the 90s to buy some property in the Ozarks.  I had the down payment and even a co-signer for the mortgage.  i was turned down because of no previous credit history.  I never tried using credit again for anything else.  I’m literally debt-free, so I can buy more preps at one time than a lot of other average people can out here.  My preps  are an investment and life insurance to me.  i have peace of mind knowing i can survive adverse situations and not go to government crying for help  Give me self-sufficiency  over dependency any day.   Braveheart

Current area as of the NOAA 22:00 UTC report is 150 Solar millionths. The probabilty of flaring is very low.   NOAA 11618 appears to be in growth phase at this time and is clearly becoming more magnetically complex since it first emerged. Currently listed by NOAA SWPC as BG=Beta-Gamma . This spot is only rated at an area of 270 Solar millionths but upon examination has multiple small area’s near the central region where opposite polarity, high magnitude zones are in close contact with each other. As such the potential for additional M-Class flaring through the evening into wednesday is high. The spot’s size limits the possibility of greater magnitude flaring to a low probability. It is notable that NOAA list the ‘spot count’ internal to 11618 at 29.    A small, new area has begun to appear on the Helio-seismic Magnetic Imaging (HMIB, colored) as of imaging timestamped 02:45 UTC. Given it’s visible aspect by the latest STEREO SECCHI beacon EUVI SAM (AIA 195) this area is not expected to be of any significant size.    Two additional small areas exist on the solar face at this time which are not expected to be consequential.    As of the latest updates at SolarHam, LASCO does not indicate any earth directed CME component from the M-1.7 though a liftoff is clearly visible in LASCO imaging from the flare earlier today. Evaluation of the effects of any ejecta produced later from the 11618 region are stil being evaluated by NASA/NOAA and are likely not to be available for another 2-3 hours.

JOG, BI.  Thank you kind beings for sticking here to keep us updated.  My tribe lives in NE Texas.  I’ve not quite figured how this would play out if the New Madrid went full movement on us.  Like many, I just keep my finger on the pulse of many things: Solar, Seismic, Financial /Gov thievery.  Sometimes my blood pressure starts to climb, then I just remember Who is in charge and I’m but a passenger waiting at this depot, keep my priorities straight.

Just a thought about the previous musings regarding human reaction to Earth / Atmosphere.  When the winds of Katrina came blowing in my general direction some 7 years ago; my normally passive office-mates went wading into the briars for a few days.  A small group of women can be trying for any ofc. admin but I always wondered “Wow, what the heck happened”; only later to see them acting sort of like one might after a few too many beverages and acted a fool.

Fast forward to 11/2012, different company but I’m seeing something quite similar in very strange action/reaction that is very not normal for these peeps.  My imagination in over-drive ~ maybe, but I’m an observer, I watch people.  I know we are all a little bent from the various moving parts of world as we know it, but this is different -  I am not given to flights of fancy as I’m much too logical for my own good (and folks that have to suffer hanging out with me) ;)    It’s a two way street – I just happen to find humans very entertaining if view with the right perspective.  Just an observation.

          Hi WeeVoice,

JOG say: “Watch EVERYTHING”. I don’t have to tell ANYONE here how weird things have been getting both lately and over the last several years. For a long, long time we here in America lived in a kind of cocoon….one providentially provided by the actions of those who went before us. In that cocoon we came to think that THAT was the reality. How many people of your own acquaintance simply cannot see the simplest, baldest signs of decay aroung them; that subject has been hashed to death so I won’t flog a dead horse here.

By all means, Please keep watching the things around you – and everyone else here too – “Waking-up is HARD to do.” and the further truth is that even many of us who we feel ourselves to be wholly ‘awake’ aren’t yet actually at that point, or alternately become distracted by the events around us.

“Watch, watch, watch…..Think, think, think.” I’m fairly sure that anyone who can keep that in the back of their minds will be able to face the ‘challenge’ when it comes. Good work, keep it up….DON’T hesitate to mention the ‘oddities’ that you see around you to those here….we all ‘stumble’ a bit now and then, such ARE good reminder’s when life get’s to distracting us with all the detail’s. ;)

    57. Well, pretty much the last vestige of denial departed from my world a couple of days ago.

I pretty much have all the “basic” provisions I wanted to have in place in case something ‘out of the ordinary’ happens tomorrow (although I know there’s always a hundred more things on the list to make life a little bit better/easier/smoother/less turbulent) and along with my foods and gardens and clothes and tools, etc., etc., etc.,  I’ve got some pretty “mean” guns in my tiny arsenal (at least “mean” in terms of what they are capable of doing when in the hands of “someone” who knows what they are doing with them). However, just a few days ago I ordered a rather expensive rifle, at least for my blood (HK MR762), that I had been drooling over ever since I first heard it was coming out, but was hesitant to acquire’cause I just didn’t want to cross that final line of committing to such a gun for financial sake and what it was capable of “doing” sake. Got two great semi-auto hand guns, a semi-auto shotgun and a counter sniper rifle. I was happy with those four, but the “20/30 rd mag” .308 rifle was (deliberately) missing. Just didn’t want to put my mind in that space.  Had .308 assault rifles in the pass, but kind’a thought I had that high capacity out of my system, which might sound strange, but “how many guns does one need”? Anyway, this may sound a bit odd to some or most of the readers here (after all we’ve been through and talked about over the last few years here), but I have trouble getting my head around the concept of killing someone, even if it’s in self defense. Over the years I’ve given a lot of  thought to this particular subject and I find the whole subject rather sickening, even when it comes to defending oneself. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not “fearful” of the concept, but I’ve been in denial of the thought of finding myself in a situation of blowing someone away even if it’s based on defending myself or loved ones, no matter what the outcome is/was. Without going into any more explanation of the psychological downside to wasting another human, I’ll just say over the last week (especially since the elections) something happened. I came to the realization that I’ll do what I have to do, without hesitation, (and spend what I have to), and now, I’ve got a gun coming that will help me in that process, if it comes down to needing a 20 or 30 .308 rd magazine (God forbid) to accomplish that primary objective.

Something is in the air. This is no drill!

Strange days are ahead. Got to stay grounded and centered in the Self.

      Keep that Immune System Strong.

When you received the SSN card the gov sent you in the mail, and committed your first signatory act with it – used it on a job application, etc… – you became a trustee of a trust with the same name.

For the rest of your life, when you purchase something using your SSN on any paperwork, you’re doing so as the trustee of that trust – translation, whatever you purchased, it doesn’t belong to you, it belongs to the trust.

Think of all the paperwork you fill out with the SSN# when applying for a mortgage, getting a loan for a car, and so on… You’re just amassing assets for the trust. Same thing with these retirement accounts, they’re considered part of the trust, like your bank accounts, real estate, etc… and as far as they’re concerned they can take 100% of those assets.

Buy land through a private contract from another individual, preferably using gold and silver. Patent that land, and build an earthbag/rammed earth/strawbale house. It’s hard work, but cheap, so you don’t have to take out a mortgage.

Eventually they will nationalize them, the pot of gold will just be too tempting, but advising anyone to liquidate and take a 35-46% hit is foolish. Unless you are just starting out, you will never ever recoup the loss. If the state did expropriate the retirement funds, they would have to do it in the dead of night with no warning or everyone would empty them out in advance.

I agree with the gent who said the boomers screwed up the United States.

As soon as they got on power….everything is collapsing…

People lose their way and feel like slaves….slaves vote socialism.

The bible does state that if your parents live a rich life…but ignore their grandchildren…their children will scorn them.

Ironic how most of my friends are boomers..they all inherited wealth.

Then came the rvs, second homes, vacations, cruises…while they ignored their children and grandchildren who don’t know them.  (Or care about them)  They got what they deserved.   You don’t abandon your children.  That’s what went on it sounds like.  Anyone would have hard feelings.

That generation gets what they deserve if they live like that.

Yet there are millions of the prior generations whose focus is on their lineage.

I hope they are all in cash…then it goes to zero.

As to the lady who chewed the earlier gent out….

Country property is far cheaper than city.   Anyone living in the country can easily live debt free.  But you pay a price….as you toil every day to put food on the table and your body will wear out.  I have a friend who though he was going to “live free”…now his bones are ground up to dust after 25 years of that life.  He regrets it.  I’ll take the city life…  be well stock and well armed.  No worries.

      If ww3 hit..then I’d hit he country.

A good balance should be looked at.

There will be bitter anger between the generations.  The generation that will hate all before it is generation Y.  Y?   No job, no factories, no credit, no hope..so they all voted for Obama.

My own stand on the silent generation and the boomers is this..

Let it all collapse.  I’ll pick up the pieces and do well.

I automate business systems.  Amazing to see how ass backwards some folks have things.   My advice to generation Y…   enter a field where you fix the messes from the prior generation…you will never be out of work.

      Good luck folks…

Stock up, stack up and man up.

      My own thoughts…

When the US defaults…that’s when China will get cocky….and we’d better have the resources to fight them off..  Nukes..and if they land guys in our backyard.

Every American better have a few cases of ammo to defend the home.

My thoughts are: When the SHTF Big Time and it will, That will mean the end for mankind and the Earth as we all know it now! If anyone has read the Bible Jesus had mentioned the Signs of the End

Matthew 24:3-14   3) While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” 4)  And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5) for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6) YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet. 7) “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8) All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress. 9) “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. 10) Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. 11) And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; 12) and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. 13) But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. 14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

Mark 13: 1-13   1) As he was going out of the temple one of his disciples said to him: “Teacher, see! what sort of stones and what sort of buildings!” 2) However, Jesus said to him: “Do you behold these great buildings? By no means will a stone be left here upon a stone and not be thrown down.”3) And as he was sitting on the Mount of Olives with the temple in view, Peter and James and John and Andrew began to ask him privately: 4) “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are destined to come to a conclusion?” 5) So Jesus started to say to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU. 6) Many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and will mislead many. 7) Moreover, when YOU hear of wars and reports of wars, do not be terrified; [these things] must take place, but the end is not yet.8) “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, there will be earthquakes in one place after another, there will be food shortages. These are a beginning of pangs of distress.9) “As for YOU, look out for yourselves; people will deliver YOU up to local courts, and YOU will be beaten in synagogues and be put on the stand before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them. 10) Also, in all the nations the good news has to be preached first. 11) But when they are leading YOU along to deliver YOU up, do not be anxious beforehand about what to speak; but whatever is given YOU in that hour, speak this, for YOU are not the ones speaking, but the holy spirit is. 12) Furthermore, brother will deliver brother over to death, and a father a child, and children will rise up against parents and have them put to death; 13) and YOU will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name. But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.

Luke 21: 5-11   5) Later, as certain ones were speaking concerning the temple, how it was adorned with fine stones and dedicated things, 6) he said: “As for these things that YOU are beholding, the days will come in which not a stone upon a stone will be left here and not be thrown down.” 7) Then they questioned him, saying: “Teacher, when will these things actually be, and what will be the sign when these things are destined to occur?” 8) He said: “Look out that YOU are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The due time has approached.’ Do not go after them. 9) Furthermore, when YOU hear of wars and disorders, do not be terrified. For these things must occur first, but the end does not [occur] immediately.”10) Then he went on to say to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; 11) and there will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another pestilences and food shortages; and there will be fearful sights and from heaven great signs.

Daniel 11,12    11     “And as for me, in the first year of Da‧ri′us the Mede I stood up as a strengthener and as a fortress to him. 2) And now what is truth I shall tell to you:“Look! There will yet be three kings standing up for Persia, and the fourth one will amass greater riches than all [others]. And as soon as he has become strong in his riches, he will rouse up everything against the kingdom of Greece.3) “And a mighty king will certainly stand up and rule with extensive dominion and do according to his will. 4) And when he will have stood up, his kingdom will be broken and be divided toward the four winds of the heavens, but not to his posterity and not according to his dominion with which he had ruled; because his kingdom will be uprooted, even for others than these.5) “And the king of the south will become strong, even [one] of his princes; and he will prevail against him and will certainly rule with extensive dominion [greater than] that one’s ruling power.6) “And at the end of [some] years they will ally themselves with each other, and the very daughter of the king of the south will come to the king of the north in order to make an equitable arrangement. But she will not retain the power of her arm; and he will not stand, neither his arm; and she will be given up, she herself, and those bringing her in, and he who caused her birth, and the one making her strong in [those] times. 7) And one from the sprout of her roots will certainly stand up in his position, and he will come to the military force and come against the fortress of the king of the north and will certainly act against them and prevail. 8) And also with their gods, with their molten images, with their desirable articles of silver and of gold, [and] with the captives he will come to Egypt. And he himself will for [some] years stand off from the king of the north.9) “And he will actually come into the kingdom of the king of the south and go back to his own soil.10) “Now as for his sons, they will excite themselves and actually gather together a crowd of large military forces. And in coming he will certainly come and flood over and pass through. But he will go back, and he will excite himself all the way to his fortress.11) “And the king of the south will embitter himself and will have to go forth and fight with him, [that is,] with the king of the north; and he will certainly have a large crowd stand up, and the crowd will actually be given into the hand of that one. 12) And the crowd will certainly be carried away. His heart will become exalted, and he will actually cause tens of thousands to fall; but he will not use his strong position.13) “And the king of the north must return and set up a crowd larger than the first; and at the end of the times, [some] years, he will come, doing so with a great military force and with a great deal of goods. 14) And in those times there will be many who will stand up against the king of the south.“And the sons of the robbers belonging to your people will, for their part, be carried along to try making a vision come true; and they will have to stumble.15) “And the king of the north will come and throw up a siege rampart and actually capture a city with fortifications. And as for the arms of the south, they will not stand, neither the people of his picked ones; and there will be no power to keep standing. 16) And the one coming against him will do according to his will, and there will be no one standing before him. And he will stand in the land of the Decoration, and there will be extermination in his hand. 17) And he will set his face to come with the forcefulness of his entire kingdom, and there will be equitable [terms] with him; and he will act effectively. And as regards the daughter of womankind, it will be granted to him to bring her to ruin. And she will not stand, and she will not continue to be his. 18) And he will turn his face back to the coastlands and will actually capture many. And a commander will have to make the reproach from him cease for himself, [so that] his reproach will not be. He will make it turn back upon that one. 19) And he will turn his face back to the fortresses of his [own] land, and he will certainly stumble and fall, and he will not be found.20) “And there must stand up in his position one who is causing an exactor to pass through the splendid kingdom, and in a few days he will be broken, but not in anger nor in warfare.21) “And there must stand up in his position one who is to be despised, and they will certainly not set upon him the dignity of [the] kingdom; and he will actually come in during a freedom from care and take hold of [the] kingdom by means of smoothness. 22 And as regards the arms of the flood, they will be flooded over on account of him, and they will be broken; as will also the Leader of [the] covenant. 23) And because of their allying themselves with him he will carry on deception and actually come up and become mighty by means of a little nation. 24) During freedom from care, even into the fatness of the jurisdictional district he will enter in and actually do what his fathers and the fathers of his fathers have not done. Plunder and spoil and goods he will scatter among them; and against fortified places he will scheme out his schemes, but only until a time.25) “And he will arouse his power and his heart against the king of the south with a great military force; and the king of the south, for his part, will excite himself for the war with an exceedingly great and mighty military force. And he will not stand, because they will scheme out against him schemes. 26) And the very ones eating his delicacies will bring his breakdown.“And as for his military force, it will be flooded away, and many will certainly fall down slain.27) “And as regards these two kings, their heart will be inclined to doing what is bad, and at one table a lie is what they will keep speaking. But nothing will succeed, because [the] end is yet for the time appointed.28) “And he will go back to his land with a great amount of goods, and his heart will be against the holy covenant. And he will act effectively and certainly go back to his land.29) “At the time appointed he will go back, and he will actually come against the south; but it will not prove to be at the last the same as at the first. 30) And there will certainly come against him the ships of Kit′tim, and he will have to become dejected.“And he will actually go back and hurl denunciations against the holy covenant and act effectively; and he will have to go back and will give consideration to those leaving the holy covenant. 31) And there will be arms that will stand up, proceeding from him; and they will actually profane the sanctuary, the fortress, and remove the constant [feature].“And they will certainly put in place the disgusting thing that is causing desolation.32) “And those who are acting wickedly against [the] covenant, he will lead into apostasy by means of smooth words. But as regards the people who are knowing their God, they will prevail and act effectively. 33) And as regards those having insight among the people, they will impart understanding to the many. And they will certainly be made to stumble by sword and by flame, by captivity and by plundering, for [some] days. 34) But when they are made to stumble they will be helped with a little help; and many will certainly join themselves to them by means of smoothness. 35) And some of those having insight will be made to stumble, in order to do a refining work because of them and to do a cleansing and to do a whitening, until the time of [the] end; because it is yet for the time appointed.36) “And the king will actually do according to his own will, and he will exalt himself and magnify himself above every god; and against the God of gods he will speak marvelous things. And he will certainly prove successful until [the] denunciation will have come to a finish; because the thing decided upon must be done. 37) And to the God of his fathers he will give no consideration; and to the desire of women and to every other god he will give no consideration, but over everyone he will magnify himself. 38) But to the god of fortresses, in his position he will give glory; and to a god that his fathers did not know he will give glory by means of gold and by means of silver and by means of precious stone and by means of desirable things. 39) And he will act effectively against the most fortified strongholds, along with a foreign god. Whoever has given [him] recognition he will make abound with glory, and he will actually make them rule among many; and [the] ground he will apportion out for a price.40) “And in the time of [the] end the king of the south will engage with him in a pushing, and against him the king of the north will storm with chariots and with horsemen and with many ships; and he will certainly enter into the lands and flood over and pass through. 41) He will also actually enter into the land of the Decoration, and there will be many [lands] that will be made to stumble. But these are the ones that will escape out of his hand, E′dom and Mo′ab and the main part of the sons of Am′mon. 42) And he will keep thrusting out his hand against the lands; and as regards the land of Egypt, she will not prove to be an escapee. 43) And he will actually rule over the hidden treasures of the gold and the silver and over all the desirable things of Egypt. And the Lib′y‧ans and the E‧thi‧o′pi‧ans will be at his steps.44) “But there will be reports that will disturb him, out of the sunrising and out of the north, and he will certainly go forth in a great rage in order to annihilate and to devote many to destruction. 45) And he will plant his palatial tents between [the] grand sea and the holy mountain of Decoration; and he will have to come all the way to his end, and there will be no helper for him.12 “And during that time Mi′cha‧el will stand up, the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of your people. And there will certainly occur a time of distress such as has not been made to occur since there came to be a nation until that time. And during that time your people will escape, every one who is found written down in the book. 2) And there will be many of those asleep in the ground of dust who will wake up, these to indefinitely lasting life and those to reproaches [and] to indefinitely lasting abhorrence.3) “And the ones having insight will shine like the brightness of the expanse; and those who are bringing the many to righteousness, like the stars to time indefinite, even forever.4) “And as for you, O Daniel, make secret the words and seal up the book, until the time of [the] end. Many will rove about, and the [true] knowledge will become abundant.”5) And I saw, I Daniel, and, look! there were two others standing, one on the bank here of the stream and the other on the bank there of the stream. 6) Then one said to the man clothed with the linen, who was up above the waters of the stream: “How long will it be to the end of the wonderful things?” 7) And I began to hear the man clothed with the linen, who was up above the waters of the stream, as he proceeded to raise his right [hand] and his left [hand] to the heavens and to swear by the One who is alive for time indefinite: “It will be for an appointed time, appointed times and a half. And as soon as there will have been a finishing of the dashing of the power of the holy people to pieces, all these things will come to their finish.”8) Now as for me, I heard, but I could not understand; so that I said: “O my lord, what will be the final part of these things?”9) And he went on to say: “Go, Daniel, because the words are made secret and sealed up until the time of [the] end. 10) Many will cleanse themselves and whiten themselves and will be refined. And the wicked ones will certainly act wickedly, and no wicked ones at all will understand; but the ones having insight will understand.11) “And from the time that the constant [feature] has been removed and there has been a placing of the disgusting thing that is causing desolation, there will be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.12) “Happy is the one who is keeping in expectation and who arrives at the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days!13) “And as for you yourself, go toward the end; and you will rest, but you will stand up for your lot at the end of the days.”

I hope you enjoyed reading these Biblical passages about the end of times. These all foretell what is to take place at the end of times. And as we all can see by what is going on in the world, we are now living in the end of times. Soon God will send his son Jesus and his army of angels to put an end to this system of things.

I suggest that for those over 59 and a half years old, it’s time to take all the money out of our IRA’s, if not this year then Jan. 1 of 2013.  Waiting longer even for those UNDER that age may not be wise…

We are truly not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy.  (Sigh!)

What you Americans get to retire at 59 and a half why you are still whipper snappers at that age. Try being Australian where our benevolent government has now decreed that you can’t retire until you are 70. Yes 70. I repeat 70. We are forced to pay 9% (soon to be 12%) of our pay into mandatory Superannuation which won’t provide for retirement. The money we put into super is taxed and when we finally get to enjoy the fruits of our (forced) savings the government in their benevolence taxes us again just to withdraw OUR money. Then we pay tax on the annual earnings as well. So your government could learn a few things from our government. What does the government do with this money. Well they pay those who don’t work or have never worked to live.

        Geoff,

In fairness, the 59 1/2 age mark is when you can start using YOUR OWN MONEY in an IRA….not govt funds.  So IF you’ve planned things so you can retire at that age, fine, but it’s only a point at which you can use YOUR OWN MONEY without paying penalty.  Depending on the type of IRA, you may well still owe taxes that were deferred from putting it away earlier.

To draw govt funds, most can ‘early’ retire at 62 for social security funds ( depends on your age ) and they will get cut about 50% of what they would have gotten had they waited until 65, 66, 67 ( again, depends on your age and when they changed the rules )……so not TOO much different from the land down under.

Funny, but I thought that was what the Social Security Administration was tasked to do.  They forcibly take money out of our pockets to fund our “retirement”, though who could retire on the paltry sums they dispense is questionable.  I’ve been paying into SS all my life, and they say I’ll get a measly $1000.00 a month, yet with less money put into my 401k over the same time period, it looks like I’ll have about $4000 a month from the private account.

And these idiots want to now raid my private retirement account?  To pay for  the retirement a bunch of deadbeats who never worked a day in their lives?  Dude, this “Ant” is done, and just about ready to go hunting “Grasshoppers”.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my SHTFplan friends,

and to the lefty trolls … U2

Lord, give them eyes that they may see,

and ears to hear the song of liberty,

let freedom ring across the land,

without much bloodshed in the sand,

let them feel their greatest error,

a rising song of unholy terror,

to feel the blade of envy strike,

their coveting to take their might,

the darkest horse that takes their sight,

to take them from the greatest height,

so when the darkness sings its songs,

releasing demons in their great throngs,

they remember and see your Light,

release the Remnant from their fright.

@This is bigger than you think -

You need to look into the Gen X mirror pal, after all it was this generation that put O back in the WH.  Just got this email yesterday.

Being GreenChecking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the older woman, that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren’t good for the environment.

The woman apologized and explained, “We didn’t have this green thing back in my earlier days.”

The young clerk responded, “That’s our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations.”

She was right — our generation didn’t have the green thing in its day.  Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were truely recycled. But we didn’t have the green thing back in our day.  Grocery stores bagged our groceries in brown paper bags, that we reused for numerous things, most memorable besides household garbage bags, was the use of brown paper bags as book covers for our schoolbooks. This was to ensure that public property, (the books provided for our use by the school) was not defaced by our scribblings. Then we were able to personalize our books on the brown paper bags. But too bad we didn’t do the green thing back then.  We walked up stairs, because we didn’t have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn’t climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.  But she was right. We didn’t have the green thing in our day.Back then, we washed the baby’s diapers because we didn’t have the throwaway kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling machine burning up 220 volts — wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that young lady is right; we didn’t have the green thing back in our day.  Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house — not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana. In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn’t have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didn’t fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn’t need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.  But she’s right; we didn’t have the green thing back then.  We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. But we didn’t have the green thing back then.Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn’t need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 23,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest burger joint. But isn’t it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn’t have the green thing back then?

The only way that these things will be enforceable is when 2 or more generations are duped into the political D.O.E. correctness and the removal of morality is at a voting majority.  Not only are we there,  it is likely that we will go to a digital currency in this administration.  That will happen in combination with two things: a catastrophe that reveals the level that government has been watching you digitally and then using your indiscretions as the ultimate excuse to dictate.  God’s morality will then at that point be deemed worthless and the political correctness will be the law of the land. (We are there is so many respects already)  The fact is this is a war between good and evil and the polarization left and right is a precursor and distraction for the polarization of right and wrong.  Another way to say this: Freedom of conscience (God’s law) soon will be freedom from needing a conscience (political correctness).    Gary

I’m opposed to any plan for the government to take over any 401k or IRA plan by the government.   As for the PBGC, they just annonced that they had a 34 billion dollar deficit for 2011.    Can you see this government agency running a 3.5 trillion dollar pension fund?

    81. I have never felt like I will be able to get social security, IRA or 401K  benefits by the time I retire.  Retirement benefit money is too tempting for politicians not to take over.  I think it is better to save for retirement by investing in hard assets such as real estate, precious metals, or a business with a cash flow.

I know this will go against your libertarian/conservative teachings, but the best asset you can have in the face of financial armaggedon is debt. If what you owe is worth more to someone than what you have, odds are that someone will make arrangements to keep you alive to pay off your debt. They will structure your payments along those lines so that you will die before it’s paid off. It’s just human nature & that certainly applies to govt.

What you want is high quality debt that’s hard to collect on. That’s debt accrued from borrowing against your retirement account. The cost is cheaper than getting a loan from the bank & it’s guaranteed approval. Borrow as much as you can each year as the acct grows & invest it outside the country. One of the BRIC is sure to rule the world in the near future & Brazil is the most likely bet to safeguard a foreigners investment. That’s Brazil, Russia, India, & China if you don’t know, & there are plenty of BRIC etf’s available. Forget the silly talk of precious metals.

As those red lines get crossed in the US, these 4 will see inflated currency values. Your BRIC etf investment will reflect that. Your best bet then is to establish ties with someone you can trust in Brazil today. Help them establish an account with you in Brazil & send the $ you borrow against your retirement account to them. Report the $ as being stolen on your taxes. It’s not as hard as you might think.

When it’s time to flee the country you have things set up in Brazil & all you’ve left behind is debt in the US. This shell game of nation hopping is how arisotcracy has thrived throughout the centuries. As nations lose power they lose less status & ability to go after those who have fled it.

You don’t need to cash out your 401k or IRA to get your money…and get screwed by uncle Sam in the process. You can get your money in your own hands and invest in what you want; including real estate and metals. I worked with the guys at Longboat Retirement Solutions. They helped me avoid taxes and penalties….and get my hands on my own money!
