GOP Insider Admits: “That’s Just the Way It Is… We Choose the Nominee, Not the Voters”

This GOP official made a brazen admission that, well, voting doesn’t matter.

If you haven’t come to terms with that fact, then it’s probably about time that you did.

Given the complex and deliberately obscure rules that the Republican and Democratic parties create for themselves, it is clear that it is not the voters of this country, but the insider party officials who actually determine who our leaders will be.

This system is hardly a democracy, but it is reality.

Many have surmised as much, as they watch the country going down the tubes year after year, but now their suspicions have been confirmed. CNBC reported:

Political parties, not voters, choose their presidential nominees, a Republican convention rules member told CNBC, a day after GOP front-runner Donald Trump rolled up more big primary victories.

“The media has created the perception that the voters choose the nomination. That’s the conflict here,” Curly Haugland, an unbound GOP delegate from North Dakota, told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Wednesday. He even questioned why primaries and caucuses are held.

    […]

This could lead to a brokered convention…

“It could introduce Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, or it could be the other candidates that have already been in the race and are now out of the race [such as] Mike Huckabee [or] Rick Santorum. All those people could eventually become candidates on the floor,” Emineth said.

    […]

“The rules haven’t kept up,” Haugland said. “The rules are still designed to have a political party choose its nominee at a convention. That’s just the way it is. I can’t help it. Don’t hate me because I love the rules.”

They make the rules, they break the rules, everyone else follows their decision.

It’s not like the Democrats even offered a real choice against Hillary Clinton – instead, the illusion of voting has moved forward, while the party tightly locked around super delegates and byzantine procedures to ensure that the decision had already been made before a single vote was cast.

Power tends to corrupt, and create institutions for holding onto power. That cycle repeats, intensifies and expels excrement, corruption and tyranny.

This network of control had allowed connected insiders, rich billionaires and elite, global architects to steer elections, select candidates and tilt the system in their favor.

As Mark Twain keenly noted: “If voting made any difference they wouldn’t let us do it.”

An insider’s guide to what could be the struggle to win a contested convention.

Here’s How The Establishment (could) Steal The GOP Nomination From Trump

        MARCH…
        DOUBLE AGENTS

        APRIL…
        DELEGATE SELECTION

Party bosses stand ready to gut some of Trump’s greatest primary-season successes. He won every one of South Carolina’s 50 delegates, by finishing first statewide and in each congressional district, but Trump is powerless to fill that slate with his own people.”

        MAY…
THE ART OF THE DEAL – “There is nothing in the RNC’s rules that prohibits delegates from cutting a deal for their votes…”

“Every delegate and alternate is already paying for individual travel costs to get to Cleveland. Most state parties tell delegates to expect to spend $3,000 out of pocket on airfare, hotel and meals, and for some it could prove an unexpected hardship.

(Delegates are assigned hotels by state; some could end up paying for the La Quinta Inn, others stuck with a bill from the Ritz-Carlton.)”

        JUNE…
THE DISQUALIFYING ROUND – “If the primary calendar ends without any candidate emerging as its presumptive nominee, all those responsibilities will remain with RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.”

“…if Trump doesn’t finish with a clear majority of delegates, Priebus will face immense pressure from party officials and donors to undermine him.”

@ Johnny, Frankly I am surprised. If they cheat Trump at the convention I will immediately go to my county seat and change to independent.I tell my wife the fourth turning wouldn’t come if everything was working well. When people read in the paper that John Brown was hanged little did they know that within five years 600,000 of them would be dead also.

        • @ Beowulf, I was an independent for 20 yrs, starting when Clinton got to be president. Thought I could or would make a difference. Ha. What a joke that was. I was just p—ing in the wind.

          • Al

Going independent will never make a difference because the D/R corporate machine passed laws to make it virtually impossible to run for national office as a solo independent human being. Over 50% of voters are unhappy enough to declare independent, but independent is not a party. Why are they not creating other parties? Independent is going nowhere, because the D/R corporate machine says so. Founding fathers opposed political parties for this reason. Scalia pushed Citizens United which made it virtually impossible for a Party to be autonomous from corporate money.

At the most basic level, we gave control over our shelter, water, food, and survival to corporations. Willingly. Now we pretend we can control them. The only possibility to be free human beings is to take control back to ourselves. Not happening, except among a very few. Self-sufficiency is a lost art.

It must be recognized that the reality show called “Presidential Elections” is becoming extremely entertaining:

Anonymous releases Donald Trump’s personal details (SSN)

        • Archivist says:

          Anonymous is full of crap.

He confuses the political system of Islam with a religion.

He also doesn’t recognize that some people win wars and others lose them. Our people won this country. Native people lost. That’s the way it is. Our people lost other wars in the past and were overrun and enslaved. Should I get reparations from Rome because they invaded Germany, France, and England, where most of my ancestors were born? Or should I get reparations from other civilizations even further back in time who invaded and enslaved other ancestors?

Anonymous says he is for the Constitution, but supports the protestors trying to shut Trump up. He gives out information that can be used to target Trump.

Maybe this is a fake Anonymous video.

Paraphrasing Leo Strauss’ the Vulgar Many*:
The majority of people living in the United States are lovers of wealth and pleasure; they are selfish, slothful, and indolent. These people can also be inspired to rise above their brutish existence only by fear of impending death or catastrophe.

Donald Trump is simply capitalizing on the ignorance and gullibility of the American populace in order to maximize the net revenues for the Trump brand (via marketing and advertising, courtesy of mainstream media).

*Leo Strauss was a German-American political philosopher and classicist who specialized in classical political philosophy (September 20, 1899 – October 18, 1973).

I think regular people are intelligent and informed. I don’t view common folk as chattel. But there is always some moron that thinks they know the best way for everyone else to think and live their lives. Shove off and take your boot to stomp on someone else’s head.

The trump haters are either delusional or just want more of the same old lies and bs coming out of D.C.

NO, trumpster can’t return the USSAG back to pre 60’s lifestyles that put GOD before GOV, but he may be able to convince enough moderates with a hint of a conscience, to stop some of the bleeding.

Have you noticed that modern musik all sounds the fucking same?

Electronic bubble gun synth-pop generic love and peace bullshit?

The vast majority of all hit songs the last few years were written by only 4 European producers. Millions of dollars in marketing is spent to garner a publik following over these adolescent pop pukes.

It has been shown that repeated exposure to a song you don’t initially like eventually causes you to habituate to it.

Remember when Randy Rhoads, Marty Friedman, Jimi Hendrix, and Van Halen could actually play an instrument?

Bohemian Rhapsody was written by one man.

Stairway to Heaven was written by two men.

Modern art is shit as well.

        Ever seen Michelangelo or Rembrant?

Now tell me how expressionistic Jackson Pollock is. It’s shit on a fucking canvas, that’s what it fucking is.

The old masters actually could actually paint and carve very lifelike images. That requires talent.

        I fucking hate modern society.

I listen to oldies created and performed by my generation. This morning I was driving my pickup truck and heard “Love Hurts,” “Bette Davis Eyes,” and “Brown Sugar.” The exception was “Love Hurts,” as it was written by two people born in the 1920s.

I very rarely listen to anything newer than about 1986, except for country. I occasionally listen to records from as far back as the 1890s. As Archivist, I have almost all the records that ever charted or would have charted.

Right now I’m listening to Richard Clayderman playing the piano.

On top of that, the check is so small that it takes half of it to buy groceries for two people.

After taxes, my check is just a few hundred dollars.

        • Genius, the Bar Association only exists to pretend that attorneys self-regulate and it is unnecessary to pass actual laws to regulate their behavior. LLCs were created to allow law firms to exist such that partners were no longer legally liable for each other’s illegal behavior… this happened in my career in law firms and the moral decay was instant and shocking.

I have voted Republican all my life. I have only had one candidate that I enjoyed voting for. That was 30 years ago. Ever since then I was just voting for what I felt was the lesser of two evils.

For years you can see that the parties are pretty much the same. There are a few exceptions but not many. If the elite in charge of this thing really do deny trump then I feel violence will ensue. I also feel that from this point forward protest and violence will be present at several of trumps rally’s.

We all have known that this is the way the elites operate. We all have known that they buy and decide elections. To come out and state it publicly is a new step. A new level of arrogance. It is shocking to me that it was stated publicly. These are such dangerous times. I did not see this one coming.

If this is done what will come of it? It could be the spark that sets the fireworks off. The country is divided. Done by design I might add. So many things right now could be a spark. Then it is on. Either over race, politics, or religion. Something to seriously watch. If a rally is coming to your city then maybe it is time to take a vacation.

They and the party of evil (aka democrats) are bipartisan in their contempt for the American public. If they are so smart then how well did their choices of Dole, McCain or Romney work out for winning the White House?

It seems to me that they are content to lose, just so long as they get their cut of the power and the money.
Well guess what I don’t care who gets on the ballot. I am with drawing my consent to a corrupt and rigged system. I am NOT voting this coming election. Why should I? “may be riots”

Never happen as he is generally a white candidate and they don’t riot. When masses of people lost a fortune in their investments nothing happened. The brothers kill over $5 and chant, “No justice, no peace”. Their view of justice is a bit different too.

Kevin2, in general I have to agree with you about rioting over a white candidate. Most of Trump supporters are white and suburban. And as I heard a speaker state one time “rich men don’t revolt”. But there are some down and outs on the fringe that have not worked in quite a while, had their factories shut down and sick of EBT and excuses. They may be some of those who protest loudly because Trump appears to be their last hope…

Speaking of “We The People” all I’m hearing in the US is, “The Party” be it Democrat or Republican. That high and lofty phrase was formerly held for our enemy’s, the NAZI Party or the Communist Party because we were just referred to as “The People”.

Yes that strategy worked to great effect against the Communists in Poland with Lech Walesa and Czechoslovakia with Vaclav Havel and by extension the USSR. Gandhi used it effectively too with Great Britain in India. None of them wanted to relinquish power.

In event of striking on a mass scale, if it snowballed into a successor government, assuming that is the case, the most violent of the gangs which would arise wouldn’t be in control. That gives you Hitler and Stalin. The US was ultra rare that a government forged out of war was so benevolent. Today we’re very short of Founding Fathers quality leadership to make that happen. Saving a lot of lives and not destroying your infrastructure is damn sure a plus too. Regardless just the show of unity would be powerful in itself. The thought almost brings a tear to the eye with white, black, brown, yellow, old, young, male and female standing side by side. It would be overwhelming. Its a dream of the moral sane.

            • Kulafarmer says:

If I put up a flag, I don’t think many people would notice it much.

I live in a diverse neighborhood. I have retired military, sheriff deputies, highway patrolmen, Mexicans, Vietnamese, etc. There is target practice occasionally on both sides of me. The Vietnamese are manufacturing lobster cages in their front yard. They are quiet except for the riveting. Some of the Mexicans had goats and chickens, but the dogs got the chickens and I think the Mexicans made chili or something out of the goats. I haven’t heard the goats in a while. I’d happily kill every Democrat cop and politician in the state, but I’d die and be labeled a terrorist, so I wont do that, since the rest of my fellow Gone Galt’s won’t rise up and help out. One guy blowing up a Federal building is a terrorist, 150 guys killing 25 cops at a ranch might be a movement. 5,000 armed guys showing up at the capitol and arresting the government is impressive. • Archivist says:

I keep seeing messages that mention the Noahide laws as if they are somehow evil. Those laws are supposed to be part of God’s covenant with Noah after the Flood, and which all of us, as descendants of Noah, are supposed to follow.

The Ten Commandments were given to the Israelites, but not to the rest of us. Jesus said to love God and other people, which covers all of the Ten Commandments except keeping the Sabbath.

For those who are interested, here are the Noahide laws:

        1. Do not deny God.
        2. Do not blaspheme God.
        3. Do not murder.
        4. Do not engage in illicit sexual relations.
        5. Do not steal.
        6. Do not eat of a live animal.
        7. Establish courts/legal system to ensure obedience to the law.

No. 3 & 6 are specifically mentioned in Genesis. No. 7 is implied. The others are things we obviously shouldn’t do.

That 1991 bill passed by Congress created Education Day, and in its preamble it acknowledged the historical fact of the existence of the Noahide laws.

So, what’s the problem with the fact that those laws existed? I’m curious.

We have a viable, unbelievable cussing, rich candidate. We have a stinking socialist (at least he hates the banksters). Talk about polar opposites!
I’m sure I will be reminded that voting is for schmucks, but I’ll just say, IMO, that if one abdicates their vote, they should shut their pie hole about ANYTHING political for the remainder of their life. If voting didn’t count, why are so many illegals and dead people showing up?

Our government has become a tyrant. The Democrats openly screw the heck out of us. The Republicans seem to be more refined in the manner we get screwed. But never doubt, they both put it to us.

As far as candidates currently campaigning, Trump will never sit as president. He will be disqualified by the Republican elite such as the wack job John McCain. McCain already thinks the American public are all “wacko’s”.

This continued slide into fascism by our government is designed to be slow and gradual so that we don’t revolt. It’s a lot like the frog in the pot of water that is coming to a boil. He won’t know he’s being boiled until it’s too late.

Just take that month to think about what just happened. Do not contribute to the system that just took away your constitutional rights, because it does not exist anymore.
Let those that think you don’t count run things for awhile . Just like the movie “it’s a wonderful life” with jimmy Stuart . Stand back and see what happens when the farmer stops giving, the teachers stop teaching, the truck drivers stop trucking, the construction workers stop constructing, police stop policing. That peaceful protest will undoubtedly turn into riots in the streets. • Kevin2 says:

” Clinton will slaughter him. ”

Quite to the contrary. The issue propelling Trump is the Free Trade agreements and Hillary’s corruption taking $26 million from Goldman Saks. The former will entice middle of the road fence sitters to either vote for Trump or stay home. The $26 million will sway millions against her.

The rubber has met the road with Free Trade as the promises made from GH Bush 41 through Obama of the new, “High tech jobs of the future” have failed to materialize in the 26 years and three Presidential Administrations covering both political party’s.

Trump has every man and woman’s ear that used to make good money in manufacturing and now makes minimum wage. That is a LOT of people. Hillary has no defense.

        • Kevin2 and Iggy Pop

Real conservatives are citizens, not part of the D/R corporate machine. They are sold to the highest bidder. It will take more than a President, anyway. ALEC writes legislation even for state and local governments. Laws firms like where I worked write nearly all federal legislation… paid by global megacorporations. Our reps don’t write legislation anymore. It is truly a corporate machine. Elect Trump, but don’t expect some miraculous savior. I would laugh if he exposed the massive machine. He runs his mouth about Megan Kelley, but doesn’t bring up GE, Exxon, BP, Chase Bank (wrote the next bailout legislation passed by Boehner and Obama), Monsanto, Dupont, Dow, Koch, and so on. Early in, he asked to go to parade before the Koch brothers with the rest of them asking for funding and they told him no chance. That is not a man who doesn’t want to be bought.

I think the answer is to stop playing Monopoly with them. Play a different game altogether, build a separate economy (some are already doing this… no cash is to kill or control this new economy), join other parties, boycott the big players (many are already doing this… megacorporations are applying for businesses by the hundreds daily), we have the power to recreate our country. Sure, watch the greatest sideshow on Earth, don’t believe any of it. Trump has been given endless hours of free corporate paid time on the news. When was the last time you heard a report on ALEC or Monsanto or the small businesses that are being created? People are furious about DC… oh surprise… both parties have an “angry” candidate in the wings. Get real and build something new. This whole global megacorporation structure is fragile, it is already crumbling. Knock it down. Start building its replacement now. Prepping is not just stacking, it is creating a new economy. The farther down that path we are, the better the break will be. Peppers are stacking, but a lot of other people are rebuilding. Look at sites that are talking about what people are up to.

    42. “It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.” -Joseph Stalin-

And Stalin died in 1953. The only thing about this that is new is that now the sheeple are finally starting to pay attention. And its about time too.
Wake up and smell the coffee, sleepy zombies!

    43. B from CA says:

If your vote didn’t count they wouldn’t be so concerned about Trump. With all the tricks and shinanigans behind the scene, I think wise people should vote. Wouldn’t it be a kick in the pants if your vote did count, but you got suckered into apathy allowing the opposition to win. Better to be a sheeple than a stupid sheeple.
