Florida Students Walk Out For The Right To Own Guns

A group of students from Rockledge High School walked out of school Friday to support the human right to own guns. Approximately 75 students walked on the school’s track carrying an American flag in support of the basic right to self-defense.

According to a head count by school administrators and as reported by Florida Today, the students walked onto the school’s track carrying the American flag along with several signs that read “guns don’t kill people, people kill people” and “I support the right to bear arms.” The event lasted about 20 minutes and then students returned to their classes.

The gun rights march was organized by Chloe Deaton, a sophomore, and Anna Delaney, a junior, who are part of Rockledge High’s Criminal Justice and Legal Studies Academy. Deaton, while donning a T-shirt that read, “my rights don’t end where your feelings begin,” said the event was meant to clear up the misconceptions about the Second Amendment, not support or oppose any other particular political stances.  It also was a way for students to show that not all are in support of a government-approved opinion to take the rights away from the innocent.

At the short walkout, Delaney read a quote from former President Ronald Reagan, who at a 1983 banquet for the National Rifle Association said, “The Constitution does not say that government shall decree the right to keep and bear arms. The Constitution says ‘… the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.'”

The walkout comes just weeks after the National Student Walkout on March 14, when students from 2,800 schools across the United States walked out of class for 17 minutes to protest gun violence. That event came one month after the shooting at Parkland’s Marjory Stone Douglas High School that left 17 dead.

Deaton said it was important to make sure other students’ voices were heard. Some students who participated in Friday’s Second Amendment walkout wore camouflage clothing and President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” hats. They carried “don’t tread on me” flags and black-and-blue-striped American flags that are often used to show support for law enforcement.

“It’s all over the news right now that all students hate guns. I wanted to show that not all students feel that way,” said Zachary Schneider, a junior at Rockledge. “I finally got old enough to buy my own ammunition and my own guns, and I lost it again,” Schneider said, referring to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act.

Bet ya a dollar to a time that those students favorite subject is US History. They’re so interested in it that they study it outside of the school textbook.

  2. EYES WIDE SHUT says:

Application for ‘March For Our Lives’ permit was made months before Parkland school shooting

  3. WarVet says:

We need more young people like yourselves, to stand up for your Rights; not those that would give them away.
Ask any Combat Veteran what they fought for, and their Buddies died for. There’s a reason why the 2nd Amendment is in Our Constitution !
    Never Surrender Your Rights !

  4. watching and waiting says:

Does anybody in America remember the historic accounts that caused The Founding Fathers to include The Right to bear Arms into The Constitution?

The individual right to bear arms has been argued and interpreted in Supreme Court rulings in years past and present. Specially the type of arms. Not the first time.

The Second Amendment does authorize the creation of a State Militia, to repel a Federal Army Intrusion to that State.

Second Amendment to the United States Constitution
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia –which I read briefly before posting.

The Second Amendment protects the citizens from a Federal Dictatorship from obtaining unlimited power over its citizens… Most important and yo don’t hear that much on The News.

    • Watching:

Wiki-pedia is very biased. It is a computer encyclopedia that slants towards progressive (communist) anti-white sentiments. For example, when referring to white activists who work to promote the rights of white people, white activists are always defined as white Supremists, even when these people publicly reject this label as inflammatory, derogatory, and inaccurate.

The Second Amendment is more than a defense by States against Federal over reach as in the invasion of The South by Lincoln’s army. Although that is part of it.

      • Concerned Citizen says:

BCA: Progressive = Definitely means ANTI-White, no doubt about it folks. I hope everyone is awake and smells the coffee so to speak.

      • watching and waiting says:

That is what I thought I had written after reading it thoroughly.

And we are on the same page regarding the bias.

But also, prior to The Revolutionary War, The British used to house their soldiers in The homes of The Colonists, ate their food, confiscated the weapons they could find and took stored food.

Pay back in WWII when The Brits had to house some U.S. Soldiers prior to the Invasion of Europe in 1944 in their homes and they ate some of their food.

        Again, Wiki-pedia is very biased.

Did not find that part regarding the posting of British
Soldiers in the homes of The Colonists on Wiki-pedia.

Learned that in the 6th grade.

    So there is hope 🙂

  6. Aurelius says:

Reintroduce the House Unamerican Activities Committee in Congress. Also, add one word to the oath of office, OBEY! Preserve, Protect, Defend And OBEY the Constitution. That would make it exceedingly easy to prosecute and convict those who desire to destroy the Republic.

  7. 2ndAmmendment4EVER says:

Good on these kids for standing up in support of the US Constitution!

The response from the main stream media however… ** crickets **

Well if this doesn’t show you that the main stream media is just a propaganda machine for the far left, libtared DNC, I don’t know what will!

  8. Heartless says:

It’s nice to know some parents actually raised their kids appropriately. Any bets on their survival should it all break down – those kids in this article versus the ones demanding gun control? It’d be like winning the power-ball lottery versus buying a whole bunch of worthless scratch-offs. My money’s on these apx. 75 (and others like them) any day.

  9. Sgt. Dale says:

All I can say is I’m PROUD VERY PROUD of these young Americans Patriots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Dave says:

Awesome! They get millions, we get a few dozen. Impressive.

  11. Sean says:

Never forget that no matter where you live, there are people who love their freedom as you do.

  12. aljamo says:

I have the feeling that governments don’t need guns to kill everybody. They would rather kill masses with biological agents producing millions of widespread deaths. From what I see the people offer next to nonexistent opposition. Every year that passes the people have less rights as the long arm of the law encroaches stealthily.

  13. jim in Va. says:

Some kids are brought up right.
