“Everything Else Is Almost Irrelevant”: Era Of Cheap Money Ending, Financial Hell Unleashed

    crash1

We’re living in the calm before the storm.

That much everyone can sense.  The stock market highs and holiday spending spree will soon be over, the inauguration will presumably go as planned, but that’s when everything could start to go off course.

The only question is how the storm is going to stir into a frenzy – there will be a pretext of some kind. What seems certain is that it is past time to get ready for a difficult period. This could be the big, slow squeeze and the long winter.

The economy became immune to stimulus and quantitative easing; the market can only be propped up so long, and the realities of raised interest rates a matter of timing for the Fed to decide. Now, President-elect Trump provides the catalyst necessary for a dramatic rise and fall in the economy.

With the force of the economic avalanche that is poised to fall upon us all, the policies and actions of President Trump will do little to stem the tide of what is already coming; for better or worse, there is little that Trump himself can do even though it may fall squarely on his administration.

There are many putting out the talking points now; the warnings are reaching a crescendo.

Jay L. Zagorsky, Economist and Research Scientist at Ohio State University, is predicting a recession for 2017, in spite of glowing outlooks, that could dominate headlines:

My outlook for 2017 and beyond is that the U.S. economy will likely see another recession.

    […]

It could be a sudden trigger like the collapse of Lehman Brothers in late 2008 or just a general loss of confidence.

[…] At the end of very long expansions, banks and finance companies are willing to lend to almost anyone because they become overly optimistic. Some of this willingness to lend carelessly is currently seen in U.S. car loans.

[…] like a game of musical chairs [….] suddenly “the euphoria becomes a panic, the boom becomes a slump.”

Recession, of course, is a euphemism for something much more far reaching… yet the sense of true panic is there. This could be bad.

Regardless, people across the spectrum are warning about the financial blowback that is likely headed our way. Many prominent economists are currently signalling either slow growth, or the onset of a crisis that no Trump could contend with, as RT notes:

Many of the experts said the global trade slowdown, seen during the slight recovery from the financial crisis that started nearly a decade ago, could worsen.

Emerging economies are expected to remain vulnerable… accelerating inflation and a soaring US dollar among the risks to the economic balance.

Dollar strength, weakening other currencies, will influence how emerging markets manage relatively higher inflation, as well as falling business confidence, they said.

    […]

“Mr. Trump and his team have promised growth of 3.5 to 4 percent or more, which we see as ‘magical thinking’ unless accompanied by accelerated productivity growth,” said Michael Carey, US economist at CA-CIB.

If these guys are right, the Trump Administration promises of boosting the economy could end up a no go, nothing more than “magical thinking” and an overly-optimistic sales pitch.

    Hopefully they are wrong.

Mike Adams emphasized the gravity of this massive monetary shift – it will rock global events, and likely overshadow almost anything else taking place during 2017 and the years that follow it:

The only prediction that really matters for 2017: The global debt collapse begins, followed by the rise of fascist, totalitarian government

At first, I thought about putting together a list of 25 bold predictions for 2017, but in the end I realized only one prediction really matters. It makes everything else almost irrelevant.

The era of cheap money and free debt is going to come to a catastrophic end

To understand the implications of this one prediction, you need to grasp the reality that we are approaching the end of the era of cheap money, endless debt and fiat currency money creation.

[…] For decades, presidents and central bankers kicked the can down the road, printed new fiat currency and spent the nation into financial oblivion. President Obama, America’s first Muslim President, doubled the federal debt in just eight years…

Now, with Trump getting sworn into office on January 20, 2017, the globalists no longer want to prevent the debt collapse from taking place.

The timing of all this is during Trump’s first four years. The plans will be set into motion in early 2017, and the mechanisms for engineering a crash will be initiated almost immediately after Trump’s inauguration. The effects of those actions, however, will take time […] no one can accurately predict the timing of when those actions will release the avalanche of global debt collapse. […] but what we do know is that once the avalanche begins, it will be unstoppable until it hits bottom.

As the debt collapse unfolds, we’re going to see the freezing of banking transactions, government payments and food stamp debit cards. The stock market will collapse (or be frozen), pensions will collapse, many banks will implode, the FDIC will go bankrupt, real estate will collapse, international banks will save themselves with “bail ins” and so on. It’s going to be financial Armageddon on a scale no living person has ever witnessed before.

Once that happens, there will be a backlash from the federal government and the emergency infrastructure that could swiftly implement a police state, tight cash and monetary controls, violence, looting and unrest in the streets and short supplies everywhere.

If the crisis is widespread enough, almost any level of draconian measures could be justified.

With nearly 50 million people dependent on food stamps in this country, no job growth, stagnant wages and a hungry, desperate and idle population drowning in debt, there will indeed by unrest as no one in this country has ever seen it.

If they are fueling the fire so that it burns with spectacular destruction, it may be wise to get as far back and away as possible.

“The era of cheap money and free debt is going to come to a catastrophic end.”

Yes, of course, cheap money and free debt will end. Catastrophic ??? LMFAO !!! 🙂

Did you get YOUR FREE MONEY as I suggested here a few months ago ??? ZIRP will be replaced by “2% money” by the end of the year, according to the experts who say the FED will tighten 3 times. (Personally, I think rates will move higher, faster.)

TWO Percent money for the 1% is STILL very cheap money !!! It may as well be free because the cost is STILL peanuts, historically. Two percent money, three percent money, or even four percent money is not going to trigger a “catastrophe”.

How ??? A complete economic collapse as envisioned here must be generated by an unforeseen black swan: like an emp, pole shift, massive earth change, Yellowstone blowing, etc.

“As the debt collapse unfolds, we’re going to see the freezing of banking transactions, government payments and food stamp debit cards.”

As debt defaults mount, the debt will be marked to market and resold for pennies on the dollar to other investors, like ALWAYS !!!

Bad derivatives ??? Hedge Funds and speculators will go bankrupt. Banks will sell their bad debt to the FED or to a “Derivative Resolution Trust Corporation” where the debt will be marked to market, clearing these liabilities from the balance sheets of the major banks.

I assume the author meant that a “freezing of banking transactions” means a credit crunch for those without cash or credit; like those businesses and individuals who are over leveraged and haven’t moved fast enough to pay debt down with existing cash flow. Yeah, they will be hurt as inventories mount and business declines. The over leveraged are ALWAYS crushed at the end of the business cycle.

This doesn’t mean a banking holiday where you cannot access your accounts. Not gonna happen.

Under a Clinton Presidency a massive general economic collapse may very well have occurred to usher in OWG. TRUMP has changed the equation. In TRUMP’S world bankers are businesses and if / when they fail and go bankrupt, they disappear.

In TRUMPS world, bankers will go to jail, banks will be NATIONALIZED meaning the STOCK EQUITY will be forfeited and the assets resold to investors after the bad debt is transferred to the FED.

Don’t think the TOP BANKERS don’t understand the NEW REALITY. They will not trigger another massive default
        because they understand the consequences.

They are not too big to jail and they will not walk away unscathed, with salaries and benefits intact. There’s a new Sheriff in town. 🙂

        • durangokidd says:

BTW, Government payments and food stamps WILL NOT END and in fact, in REAL SHTF as envisioned here, payments will be extended and even increased.

Who really benefits from government payments ??? The useless eaters who receive them ??? Wrong !!! Big Business who distributes goods and services from useless consumers.

Otherwise Revolution occurs and heads would roll. Payments are not gonna stop !!! That’s what the printing press is for: self preservation.

Continuing payments does not mean HYPERINFLATION either !!! 🙂

        • Utah Dave says:

2% interest isn’t cheap when they are borrowing trillions at a time to fill the void left by derivatives and the depression that is still going on. It’s very expensive. Unaffordable, actually. It either has to be near zero rates, or no borrowing at all. You have no idea what you’re talking about. Just more garbage from local wannabe prophet, durango.

          • durangokidd says:

The debt is MANAGEABLE. It always has been. Even when the Prime Rate sky-rocketed to 18% years ago and 30 year fixed rate mortgages were 13%. Why no “collapse” then, or are you too young to remember those rates ???

Contrary to the opinion of fools who do not understand the creative aspect of finance, there are a number of tools left by which the FED can manage and unwind bad debt.

Yes the sums are staggering, but ratios are the key.

This is not to defend the FED, but only to educate the community here as to the other possibilities. “Economic Collapse” does not happen without emp, pole shift, the BIG ONE, or Yellowstone blowing.:-)

        • pbt777 says:

Interesting point of view. The only thing I disagree with is that Trump will not jail his cronies, at least not the ones at the top. There may be some lower level bankers they will use as scapegoats, similar to Bernie Madhoff, but for the most part I believe the real devils will go unscathed, as usual. Trump may be somewhat of a rebel, but we still have Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan running the show, just with a different ideological view, which ultimately is really the same, just a different way of getting to their ultimate goal by using the flip-flopping sentiment of the “sheep” at the time.

        • I sure hope you are correct.

It has already started for me.
one of my annuities just sent me
a yearly update. No raise this year.
That annuity is based upon mostly
      corporate and Federal government
      bonds.
This annuity has a track record that
is hard to beat(over 90 years and prospered
      during the 1930’s depression), so
if they are being penurious, the
      clouds are on the horizon.

I’ve been practicing making bread from
red wheat berries. WOW! It is great.
      Keep on preparing.

      • smokey says:

The only annuities getting big raises this year or the last have been unionized pensions in states and cities run by the left. You’ve seen some of them going under, too. More to come.

The rest of them have been getting realistic COLAs, like yours. Even the feds and SSA pensioners got only 0.3%.

        • Zeus says:

The people making big money on annuities are the Sales Guy and Ladies selling them to you. Unbelievable commissions. And then you have no access to all your money.

With- 50 million people dependent on food stamps in this country – How many are plenty able to work if they had a job in front of them?? There will be a works program to get people off the Free Food Stamps, like you have to show up for work and this job to get the food stamps. If you fail to show up you don’t get the food stamps period. Many on food stamps, sell off their EBT benefits for drugs.

          • rellik says:

            Hey “Z”
            Most company pensions
are paid out as an annuity.
You don’t have a choice as they
own your pension and are usually
legally obligated to “pay in full”
            unlike union or government pensions.
I get a report every year and I know
where my money comes from, how well funded
the annuity is, and the costs
of the people managing the money.
The only people getting rich are the
            Democrats stealing money from me
            in the form of taxes.

Trump Tells DHS To Prepare For Border Wall Construction

By Tyler Durden Jan 4 2017
              http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-01-03/trump-tells-dhs-prep-border-wall-construction-demands-info-all-immigration-related-e

A memo from the Department of Homeland Security, which was recently reviewed by Reuters, suggest that the Trump administration plans to hit the ground running on the construction of that U.S.-Mexico border wall when they move into the White House later this month. The memo apparently summarized a meeting held between DHS officials and Trump’s transition team on December 5th in which requests were made for an assessment of “all assets available for border wall and barrier construction.”

In a wide-ranging request for documents and analysis, President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team asked the Department of Homeland Security last month to assess all assets available for border wall and barrier construction.

The requests were made in a Dec. 5 meeting between Trump’s transition team and Department of Homeland Security officials, according to an internal agency memo reviewed by Reuters. The document offers a glimpse into the president-elect’s strategy for securing the U.S. borders and reversing polices put in place by the Obama administration.

The Trump transition team also allegedly took aim at Obama’s executive actions, requesting “copies of every executive order and directive sent to immigration agents since Obama took office in 2009.”

The transition team also asked for copies of every executive order and directive sent to immigration agents since Obama took office in 2009, according to the memo summarizing the meeting.

Trump has said he intends to undo Obama’s executive actions on immigration, including a 2012 order to allow children brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents to remain in the country on temporary authorizations that allow them to attend college and work.

The program, known as DACA, collected information including participants’ addresses that could theoretically be used to locate and deport them if the policy is reversed. Another request of the transition team was for information about whether any migrant records have been changed for any reason, including for civil rights or civil liberties concerns, according to the internal memo seen by Reuters.

Among other immigration-related questions, the Trump transition team also hinted at expanding an aerial surveillance program and growing detention capacity for captured illegal immigrants.

rellik, if you ever inherit a pension, say from a parent, you can also request for a one time payout distribution without tax penalties, since it is inheritance. Instead of taking monthly payments. Consult a tax atty for details. In this crappy economy, it may be wise to take the lump sum, instead of the future IOU promise Mo. payouts, in case the pension program goes bankrupt or if benefits are reduced. Your payout will be larger in a bull market, since it is based on future earnings projections.

What are your priorities for 2017 ??? Are you still trapped in the City living in the rat race, or living in a pricey apartment, but wishing for that BOL that you own in the country that is all yours? But just can’t seem to put your plan together, then consider these factors.

First you need to make some hard decisions. Thinking like I just can’t seem to save $20K to buy some property. But you are driving a $30K vehicle that depreciates daily, then sell it, and buy a $5K vehicle, like a Utility Pick-up truck, and use the other $25K for your down payment. You will also save money on your auto insurance with a cheaper vehicle, and put that savings into a fund to buy your BOL property. Just me moving out into the country from the city, cut my vehicle insurance by 30%.

Looking for Raw Land you want to carve out for your own; (Check out this website- http://www.landwatch.com) you will not be able to get a loan on Raw Land, unless it is owner financed, and you will still have to make payments on it. You want to pay cash for your land, and have extra money to work your property and put a few buildings on it or a cheap trailer to live in until you can get some buildings. A water well, plan on about $4K to dig a 100 Ft Well and run it off a 12v pump and solar panel. You can also dig your own septic and spend a thousand dollars to plumb it. Sell all your useless city crap in yard sales to raise more money.

Stop buying flashy prepping trinkets with your every last dollar. What you need for tools at a BOL is a chain saw, shovels, wheel barrels, post hole diggers, wood splitter, metal blade weed wacker, water filtration system, generator, and finally a Solar system to produce your own Power. Start collecting these items now before you buy your property, and plan on $5K for your Solar system. Run the numbers and get your plan together. And start working your plan.

You need to sacrifice all the things you do now that wastes money, like eating out and going to the movies, which is a total waste of your financial resources. Get rid of your cable Bill and get a part time job.

What to consider when looking for a BOL Property. This video below and many others that this Guy puts out will help guide you in the direction to meeting your goals. And you better get your family and mate on board with this idea. If you run up against arguments, then you are with the wrong person in life. You need to get your priorities together now to accomplish this. This make take year or more, so stop procrastinating. Once you get on to your own property, it is a very fulfilling lifestyle as you are now much more in control of your life on your terms.

          5 Considerations for BOL/Retreat Property

Banks paying zero interest, many retirees went back to work part time at big box stores.

Rellik, would love to get your red berry bread recipe. I have been using hard berries for several years and love finding new recipes. Here is my Golden 86 hard white berry recipe….and I do substitute and mix in some red berries from time to time.

6 cups of fresh ground Golden 86 berries
2 cups and 1/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup and 1 teaspoon honey
        3 tablespoons butter melted
        1 teaspoon salt
        2 1/4 teaspoon yeast

Use whisk to mix fresh ground flour, then separate out 3 cups into a bowl, add 2 cups warm water and stir. Cover and let sit for 30 minutes while the next step completes.

Place 1/4 cup warm water in bowl and stir in 1 teaspoon honey, then add yeast and stir gently. Let rise for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, add the yeast mixture into the flour mixture with water and stir. Then add the melted butter, 1/4 cup honey, and 1 teaspoon salt and stir well. Then and the remaining flour one cup at a time, mixing well until all is used. Then knead mixture for 10-12 minutes by hand or use your bread mixer for 8 minutes (I use my Bosche mixer to knead bread). As you are kneading take note of whether you need to add a dab more flour or not because depending on the weather, you may get a stickier dough. You want it to feel soft and pliable but not overly sticky.

Turn dough into an oiled bowl, cover with damp clothe and let raise for an hour and half or two. I generally wait two hours for a nice dough. Then turn it out on oiled surface and flatten. Cut in half and using rolling pin, roll and shape so you can roll it up into a bread roll me you would with a cinnamon bread. Then place in two oiled cast iron bread pan and cover. Let rise for 30 minutes. Then preheat oven to 425 degrees. Uncover the bread and let it rise for the final 30 minutes.

Place two pans into hot oven and bake for 23 to 24 minutes. Take out of oven and then out of pans, place on cooling rack. Let cool before cutting if you can. Delicious! Will only be moist for sandwiches for about 3 days because no preservatives, but good for toast or French toast for another day or so.

Hopefully I haven’t left anything out. It really is simple, just takes a bit to sit and let the dough work itself.

I am also looking for a really good pumpernickel recipe if you know of one.

A good article would be, “How to Do Without”. Without money. A Bath. Without electricity or running water. Your favorite shopping mall or grocery store. Cell phone or X-box. How does one replace social additions and status standings in the group as they compete for food rations or comfort items.

The only thing certain in life is change. I do believe we are gonna get some.

anon- Good Topics- A good article would be, “How to Do Without”. Without money. A Bath. Without electricity or running water.

        Prepper tip in SHTF.
Go buy a case of bottled water, infact about 10 cases per person and keep that level up for your livable preps in a grid collapse. Take a cap off one bottle of water and with a small nail and a hammer punch about 6 holes in the cap from the inside out. Use a stock piece of wood as backing as you hammer the holes. Now put the cap back on and squeeze the bottle. You just invented your body shower and dishwasher. Use the same cap on the next bottles. This will help conserve water, and disperses the water just like a shower. You will also need some type of spicket water, which you can also purchase the 2.5 Gallon water containers at the store, to be able to wash both your hands, hands free. You can also just wet down a small hand towel with water and sponge bath your self clean. Not quite a real shower but you will need to adapt. What choice do you have?

For dish washing, after you cook, wipe the pans and dishes as clean as you can with a paper towel. Then put in a 2 x 1 ft dish pan until you have enough to do dishes. Then boil some water in a tea kettle, and get up to a boil. Drip dish soap over your dishes, then lightly pour the hot boiled water over the dishes. Then start scrubbing one at time and rinse with your bottle water with the shower cap holes and place the clean dishes in another dish pan 2 x 1 foot and 6″ deep. After you are done you can wipe the dished dry or let them drip air dry. This also reduces your water usage.

Try doing this off the grid, and practice. If you are lucky you will have your own water well and a solar system to power the pump for limitless water. If not you will need to use bottled water, and use the steps I described above. 22 months off the grid here, and I can talk from experience of how to cope in a controlled situation. The more prepared in basic water usage you are, the less stress in SHTF. No more marathon double day showers. That was back in the good ol’ days. ha.

When I lived in a rustic cabin in my early twenties my only water source was a garden hose from a neighbor’s house. Turned off at night, I didn’t feel like walking over to turn it on, so I learned how to brush my teeth with just a coffee cup of water. Piece of cake.
Those were the days of real carefree living. Except where the next dollar was coming from. Still carefree, tho.

The time I enjoyed best was when hunting season came to an end and the camp closed up. It was the time before cell phones. C.B radios were the norm. I would stay a few more days than the others. Sitting on 7000 acres and not a soul but myself, a few bottles of beer. a bottle of Ancient Age with plenty of firewood. Played some music on tapes that I recorded. Had some food to cook when I wanted to eat. Most of all I didn’t want anything else. Just the sounds of the woods. There are lots of things I can do without. It’s the things you need to keep you alive that matters most. For entertainment I would sing, burn wood or walk the roads on the property.

As soon as the easy money dries up, all projects stop, such as building. We owned a engineering firm and the money dried up in 2007 in August and phones stop ringing. Everyone we talked with in the business said the same thing. Without future projects and no capital coming in you watch your dream just dry up. Then in 2008 the housing market failed. Milllions of hard working Americans lost their dream of home ownership and loss of work. If you think 2008 was bad we will witness a much bigger meltdown. Keep looking for the signs of new trouble on the horizon. Start stocking upon food and prepping.

    15. Stop wringing one’s hands over those things which are outside your sphere of influence.

Recommit to your own personal goals, whatever they are.

Shore up your relationships with family. Step beyond the holiday celebrations, to make an extra effort to reinforce the bonds between yourself, your spouse, children, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents or grandchildren.

Do whatever you can to strengthen the relationship with old friends. Make new friends.

Find out what is happening in your community. Be there for your group.

The government is an illusion. Reality is all around, and inside.

Break bad habits. Whether it is an addiction to pornography, cigarettes, drugs, or alcoholism. Quit sabotaging yourself.

Write down your goals for this year, for this decade, for your life. Then put the goals somewhere where you will see them. That can be inside your closet, or sock drawer. It is not every bodies business. You need your goals clarified and put into logical thought, committed to pen and paper. That makes it real. You can then bring your goals into manifest reality seemingly without effort, although you may wind up working very hard.

Like most of us are going to slip on a 70 pound pack and run off to the mountain top. Tote around a thousand rounds of .223 in a 50 cal. ammo can. Add on some joint and muscle pain and the 50 yard dash becomes the 26 mile marathon. I am not gong to move more than 100 feet from point A to point B and can grab stuff pre positioned in route. Trading mobility for structural protection and stand alone capability.
Why do I stress stand alone capability? I want to be able under fire to be comfortable enough (if that is possible) to repetitively place kill shots. Shot placement in shorter terms.

Used to be able to use iron sights. Then moved to 3x9x40mm scope and then again on to lasers.

I like to watch YouTube vids different preppers post. Ive heard some stupid shit said. One lady said she would use her last gallon of gasoline running her generator to watch little mermaid movie. She stated that running air conditioning is a luxury and running the fridge to keep beer cold is a waste. First that 1gallon of gas could be used in a vehicle to get a load of fire wood to heat the home or in the generator to power drills and saws for improvement projects to the homestead like building chicken coups or other nessasary things. Second if someone in your household has respiratory issues like a elderly person maybe then running an air conditioner is not a luxury it’s nessasary for survival. Thirdly running a fridge isn’t a waste of fuel to keep your food from spoiling while your consuming it all up and if there is a few cold beers in there so be it. Watching movies with your limited resources is fucking stupid. Now I don’t thing this lady is out to mislead people but her rationalizing process is fucked. We are talking shtf power is out and your hearing on your little radio that it may be months before it’s back on line. People never talk about managing their resources this is not same as rationing. You have water food firewood ammo propane gasoline. Vehicles and generators and gas power equipment use gasoline. Propane for cooking and generator if you have it set up to run on it like I do. Firewood for cooking and wood stoves. Water for you your garden and animals. Ammo for guns. If you burn all your gasoline in your generator watching movies while you run out of firewood you won’t have it to run your truck to haul in more firewood. If you use the propane in the generator you won’t have it for cooking when you need to keep a low key. If you shoot all your ammo at paper you won’t have it when your door gets kicked in at 1am. If you use all your water in the garden your animals will die. When looking at it all your not gonna piss away your little bit of gas when you need it to survive. A lot of people are gonna blow through their resources foolishly and then they gonna want and demand you share yours. I realize if you haven’t had tv for a month your gonna wanna watch anything. I’d rather get a load of firewood with the truck than with a wheelbarrel cus the wife wanted to watch a movie with the kids using our last gallon of gas.

I don’t know about y’all but I want as many options as I can get for as long as I can get. Anyone with a brain will not use their bottled water to do the laundry and collected water from the roof to drink. Let’s get fucking real this is shtf your living off your finite resources and they will run out eventually. You just gonna eat all your beans or you gonna supplement it with small game meat to stretch your stash. Forget the zombie fantasies. This isn’t some fun little camping trip you can pack the shit in the car and leave when it rains. Snap the fuck out of it your life is on the line. If you think it’s some kind of joke just kill yourself. I’ve seen people get injuries screwing around and other people laughing while the person is hurt. These people who laugh think life is a joke and have no place in the preparedness community. For others it’s just a way to supplement income they don’t really believe shtf is gonna happen but they review gear for their buddies cus they get a cut. Then there is those who supposedly prep but don’t believe the worst case scenario is even possible they still believe the gov will come to the communities aid just before it get really ugly. This is delusional thinking. The gov doesn’t have the power to stop the truth from hitting you and yours and who’s to say they wanna anyway.

    20. Plan twice, prep once says:

      Hmmm,
I’m a bit more optimistic. Yes, I still prep, it is all about being ready for the unexpected.

When you look at the finances for any public company there is a line item on their balance sheet called “good will”. This is the credit value of their good name.

For say IBM you can check their balance sheet on Google Finance and find good will is listed at 32 billion for them. Literally this is their expected credit value based on their good name alone, without something held as security.

In pessimistic times this number shrinks, in optimistic times it grows. Since Trump won, optimism is at an eight year high.

If the powers that be want to crush the economy, they have to crush the Trump optimism. The press has been trying to do this since Trump won the primary. They haven’t done so good so far.

I’m also pleased that a lot of the damage Obama has done, was done via executive memos and executive orders, because they can be undone by Trump simply with another executive order or executive memo.

Time will tell, just keep on prepping.
