EPA Administrator: The War On Coal Is Over!

“The war on coal is over,” EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt declared in the coal mining state of Kentucky. The head of the Environmental Protection Agency said Monday that he will sign a new rule overriding the Clean Power Plan, an Obama-era effort to limit carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants.

Pruitt was among about two-dozen attorney generals who sued to stop former President Barack Obama’s push to limit carbon emissions, so the elimination of the Clean Power Plan is personal to him. Getting rid of the Clean Power Plan will mark the culmination of a long fight he began as the elected attorney general of the state of Oklahoma.

Pruitt has long rejected the government consensus that man-made emissions from burning fossil fuels are the primary driver of global climate change – or is it global warming? President Donald Trump, who appointed Pruitt and shares his skepticism of the often fabricated climate science, promised to kill the Clean Power Plan during the 2016 campaign as part of his broader pledge to revive the nation’s struggling coal mines and boost the economy.

Obama’s plan was designed to cut the United States carbon dioxide emissions to 32 percent below 2005 levels by 2030. The rule dictated specific emission targets for states based on power-plant emissions and gave officials broad latitude to decide how to achieve reductions. However, it was the broad executive overreach Obama became known for that some states took issue with.  The Supreme Court put the plan on hold last year following legal challenges by industry and coal-friendly states.

Pruitt is expected to declare that the Obama-era rule exceeded federal law by setting emissions standards that power plants could not reasonably meet. Appearing at an event with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Pruitt said, “The EPA and no federal agency should ever use its authority to say to you we are going to declare war on any sector of our economy.”

“This president has tremendous courage,” Pruitt said Monday. “He put America first and said to the rest of the world we are going to say no and exit the Paris Accord. That was the right thing to do.”

You will have a lot of Trumpbot drunken bum coward company Scott Pruitt, especially those blasphemous hedonistic toxic dump drunken bum New Babylonian Trumpbots calling themselves “Christian”. Please New Babylonian Trumpbot cowards-do not make it worse for you on Judgement day as you stand before your Creator, by declaring yourselves servants of our Lord and savior……”woe, woe, woe onto to those who call evil good, and good evil”, and that would be you Trumpbot coward servants of Lucifer.

@ R A I am a Kentuckian and I voted for Trump. I am well satisfied with this action. If you believe burning fossil fuels is killing the planet then you have to accept there are too many people on earth. If you use electricity or drive an automobile them you are a drunken coward just like the rest of us.

That should make West Virginia happy. Kentucky too.

  4. GrandpaSpeaks says:

There is no energy panacea only together can energy sources provide for our needs. Sun, wind, wood, propane and gasoline keeps me going without the need of a utility company. And in that order of usage priority also. Yet I still feel a hydrogen economy should be developed to add to the mix and extend our usage of peak oil. The experts say that fuel injection technology effectively doubled our reserves of fossil fuel. Technology of hydrogen could extend that out further. Save what is left of fossil fuel for the transportation industry and the military and convert to the hydrogen economy while we still have an affordable option to do so. I remember Isaac Asimov once stated that if man is to explore space we must get off the Earth while we still have resources to do it. This same methodology must be utilized by the energy industry. But to change hinter into help takes vision. Something that seems more and more lacking as I get older. Energy is life and the “cleanliness” of both is up to us. Maybe hydrogen could be derived from cracking water with the energy of sun and wind. Add this to the fossil fuels to enhance energy produced. An example of renewable and non renewable energy sources working together. We need to take fight out of our dealings in order to think out of the box. To fight always seems our default action. We need to work on that one first in order to progress thoughtfully.

  5. Jim in Va. says:

We have 200 years worth of coal. Until something better and cheaper comes along, use it. Natural gas is another. The technology for clean coal is getting better all the time and there is plenty of it. Too much risk with nuclear power. Solar and wind are getting there but are a long way off.

    • Michigan Wolverine says:

      not dissing yer post

I just find it hard to believe ANYTHING that comes out of their mouths any more, lets face it,, they lie to us constantly and with impunity, we cant believe a dam thing they tell us

so 200 years is what they say,,? than its probably more like 400 to 1000 years or its just a totally unknown number and they shouldn’t be speculating than

  6. The Deplorable Braveheart says:

Jim in VA, agreed. I’m still not impressed with any of the crap they call ‘going green’. That’s all still UNPROVEN technology. ESPECIALLY electric cars. It will always be the good old internal combustion engine for me. One other thing I wish EPA would do is drop the requirement for the oil companies to put ethanol in gasoline. It can’t be used in any small engines, period. We need to go back to ethanol-free gas all the way around.

  7. Nailbanger says:

That Paris climate accord was nothing more than yet another excuse for the US taxpayers to pay and pay and pay,,,,
    Who is John Galt!

    • The Deplorable Braveheart says:

Nailbanger, you nailed it again. It was just another globalist scam to bleed our economy dry. The US doesn’t owe the world a damn thing!

      • Anonymous says:

BRilliant, braveheart!! we don’t owe the world a damn thing… and when we all die from EVEN MORE CATASTRHOPIC HURRICANES, EXTREME WEATHER EVENTS LIKE OCCURRED RECENLY, rising temperatures, and tsunamis, etc… we will have people like you to thank for all your diligence in studying the subject and giving support to the fossil fuel industry!

        • Archivist says:

The temps aren’t rising, and we didn’t have a major hurricane hit the US in 12 years. The most catastrophic hurricanes happened years ago. And the weather doesn’t cause tsunamis.

        • The Deplorable Braveheart says:

Anonymous, I’ll be civil towards you on this. If you really believe in that manmade global warming propaganda you’ve been misled. What they call ‘green technology’ is not a PROVEN technology and is based on some questionable science. Our economy is at least partially based upon fossil fuels and natural gas. We need them in order to survive. Without fossil fuels, how do you think you’ll survive?

        • Redroom says:

Anonymous – you are a typical libtard. The earth’s temps are not rising, and extreme weather events have occurred since the dawn of time. How did the Ice Age end? Was it because of people driving SUV’s? COAL ROCKS!

    • awed bawl says:

Who is still stuck on first base.

  8. Even if it did pollute as bad as they claim, who gives a shit. We need jobs and we need cheap energy.

  9. Fritz says:

All those lumps of coal I used to get in my stocking at Christmas when I was little … I wasn’t bad, I was a prepper even then.

  10. aljamo says:

Bow down to the filthy polluters and their huge tax breaks while alternative less polluting energy sources are under attack. This states Public Service Commission never met a rate hike that was not approved indicating being deep in existing energy producers pockets. This in the Sunshine State which should be the leader in solar power. Entrenched interests win again above logical common sense. Just like the proposal for a fast commuter train between the Tampa Bay area to Orlando was killed by Rick Scott in service to the oil interests.

    • Archivist says:

Alternative energy hardly survives with all the subsidies. I don’t get any benefit at all from all the wind turbines and solar panel fields in my area. All the wind power, when the turbines are actually turning, goes to Amazon. All the solar goes to somewhere in Virginia.

I’ll switch to alternative energy when it gets cheap enough and technology advances enough for me to drive an electric car across the country without having to stop every 150 miles and wait for hours to recharge. The cars are out of reach and aren’t even big enough for a tall person to get in easily.

      CO2 is not pollution anyway.

And all of the alternative energy solutions have huge hidden costs in mining, manufacturing, and distribution.

      • The Deplorable Braveheart says:

Archivist, the alternative energy aka ‘going green’ is not feasible in my view and I doubt if it ever will be. I especially doubt if electric cars will ever be feasible.

        • Archivist says:

I think they may someday far in the future. The only logical way to power an electric car would be to use induction from cables beneath the roadways. This would necessitate a huge redo of all the streets and roads in the country. But it would allow the cars to be powered continuously using any energy source available at the time, whether wind, solar, nuclear, or fusion.

GOOD!! 😉 MORE 200-MPH HURRICANES!! YEAH!!! WHAT COUNTRY/STATE WILL BE LEVELED NEXT? FLORIDA? TEXAS?? YEAH!! GO TEAM!! LOOK AT THAT SMILE!!
    \

Around 2008, (2008!!!)I did a research paper on GW and the conclusions (from books read) were:

More deadly, catastrophic storms in the future, no water in some areas and a deluge of rain in other areas (extreme flooding). Citizens in Western states will migrate/flee because of all the fires and lack of water. (No snow in the mountains during winter means no run off of water in the summer)– so crops fail and people have to flee because of all the fires and no water to drink). Also, in the book, “Climate Wars”, the author talks of climate refugees in the future– He wrote the book years ago!! Guess what? Puerto Ricans are migrating to the US because of the deadly, catastrophic hurricane!! Yep!! We got a winner for the EPA this time!! 😉

GO TEAM!! GO TEAM!! ALL THE THINGS SCIENTISTS WARNED ABOUT ARE COMING TRUE!! EPA WANTS TO EXACERBATE THE PROBLEM!! YEAH!!! 😉

    • Archivist says:

If any of that was true, why did we go a whole 12 years without a major hurricane hitting the US?

The western states have always been dry, and the environmentalists have blocked the best fire prevention methods.

Your paper was a failure. There is no man-made global warming.

  12. Anonymous says:

In the future there will be more deadly, catastrophic storms, western states will have a lack of water (no snow on the mountains means no run off water in the spring)… resulting in forest fires and people having to migrate to survive, there will be too much rain in some areas, resulting in severe flooding, while other areas will have extreme water shortages, there will many climate refugees… all of which have come true. And of course, rising temperatures which will become steadily worse as the years go by…

    • Archivist says:

So you did a paper in 2008, and we then went about 9 more years without a single major hurricane hitting the US.

      The temps haven’t risen.

Predicting forest fires in California is like predicting dry weather in the Sahara Desert.

      Fail.

YEAH!!! go team, go team!! WE DID IT!!! NO MORE RESTRICTIONS… MORE CATASTRPHIC STORMS!! MORE FIRES OUT WEST!! MORE PEOPLE FLEEING THE WEST BECAUSE OF LACK OF WATER AND FIRES!!! MORE CLIMATE REFUGEES COMING TO THE EAST COAST!! YEAH, TEAM!! GO, GO, GO!! 🙂 SOON EXTRENE FOOD SHORTAGES DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER!! YEAH!!!

I’m in the process of ordering 9 kW of solar panels.
It is an un-beliveably difficult process. Dealing with Chinese directly.
Thanks to the EPA Americans do not make Solar panels anymore.
    They just assemble them.
Assuming I can get them through US customs which is my main
problem, shipping from Shanghai to Hilo is ~$800. An American supplier DM solar wants ~$4,000 for shipping from the same supplier! I’m getting a pallet of Hyundai 330 Watt panels.
I will get this all worked out, but the Real war is the US government vs the people of America.
Be it coal, Diesel, Gas, natural gas, solar et al. Democrats have screwed the system up so much, it is nearly impossible to get ahead. I have a ball and chain of 67 million Democrats, I have to drag around. I’m tired of them!

  16. aljamo says:

Anybody figured out what the chemtrail spraying is all about? I believe the composition of the spraying is known if what I read is true. Not to be confused with contrails. Some say the spraying is to alleviate atmosphere warming, others say to block things from being seen in the sky or to poison the planet. Contrails fade out into the sky while chemtrails spread out and remain for some time with the particulates settling on the ground. The government ignores requests for an explanation of what is being sprayed.

    • Archivist says:

I have never seen these “chemtrails.” I have been up and down the east coast, from Florida to Ontario, Canada. I have also been further inland, from Texas to North Dakota. No “chemtrails” anywhere.

      I don’t believe they exist.

Regular contrails can last for longer than usual if the temperature and humidity is right. Around a busy airport, there can be enough contrails to eventually merge together to form an actual cloud.

If they were real, websites wouldn’t have to post fake evidence in their support.

      • rellik says:

Right over Prineville OR, you can see contrails that last for hours.
In all different directions. A friend of mine’s brother is an ATC type and he said Prineville was a standard routing point for many west coast flights.
I don’t believe in “chemtrails”. I’m a retired Boeing engineer.
You don’t mess with aircraft fuel. Engines don’t react well to crap in the fuel. If everyone knew just how hard it is to get Aircraft engines to function reliably you would be somewhat nervous when you fly.

  17. Sgt. Dale says:

Should have never started. Thanks Obullshit. You scum bag!!!
    Sgt.

  18. George Soros will be so happy. Remember, he used his patsy to put in all of those regulations. Soros then swooped in and bought majority positions in several major coal businesses that he had previously been shut out from owning. Now he will get even richer. Burns doesn’t it. I pray for the day that devil assumes room temperature..

  19. Plan twice, prep once says:

    About time.

When I watched Clinton pull all funding from Fusion research nation wide, I knew it was all over.

Clean energy was never the goal, it is the enemy. The future of America was destruction, not progress.

The globalist agenda is to simply destroy and overthrow our republic.
