Chapman: ‘There Is No Question Now That the Game Is Over’

Bob Chapman doesn’t mince words in his most recent report Crisis And Collapse Unfortunate but Inevitable:

The euro zone foisted one interest rate fits all, all on countries that should have never had the same interest rates as say Germany. We talked about both these issues 14 years ago, but as usual, no one was listening. From the very beginning the EU and the euro zone were doomed. Both are going to now begin the process of disintegration, as both are a failure. The six countries will go bankrupt, as will the banks. That will dislodge England and push it into bankruptcy and that in turn will force the US to follow. That may be the catalyst that forces a meeting of all nations to revalue, devalue and multilaterally default, hopefully such a meeting will occur long before this stage is reached. There is no question now that the game is over. The question now is when?

Workers have become a form of inventory just like widgets. For years now companies have laid off and rehired workers at will, keeping the expensive worker participation to a minimum. If you use total figures and include discouraged workers the unemployed are 20.6 million, up 483,000 in June. We do not see stimulus 3 coming from Congress, so we expect unemployment to resume its relentless rise upward from 22.6%. Mind you unemployment reflects $1.7 trillion in stimulus 1 and 2, and QE 1 and QE 2, which takes us well over 44 trillion. All those injections did was to bail out the financial sector and government. As we know our President tells us the administration created three million jobs, at a cost of $266,000 per job. That is hardly something to write home about.

Year-on-year in the municipal sector 450,000 workers are going to lose their jobs, because many of these entities are close to broke. They and the states want more money from the federal government, which it doesn’t have to give.

If the Fed does not inject $850 billion into the economy we are looking at a minus 3% to 5% in GDP. That is in addition to buying $1.7 trillion in treasuries and other associated toxic waste.

The newest recession began a few months ago, or should we say downturn in an inflationary depression. There will be no recovery this year or next without $850 billion additional being thrown into the economy. No 3.5% growth. Perhaps a minus 4% if we are lucky. That should put unemployment close to 25% by 2012.

They may pretend like everything is fine and dandy but the facts are clear: Everyone is broke.

Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Italy, Spain and the UK are broke.

    The US government is broke.

    The American people are broke.

When 25% of the people have no income coming in and prices for basic goods continue to rise, there will be no upward movement in the economy. Consumers cannot spend, because they have nothing left – their incomes have been eliminated and so too has their credit.

The only hope for growth is more easing by the Fed and more stimulus from Congress, but even that is masking the problem. We may see positive GDP growth as a result, as we have “officially” seen in recent quarters, but this is strictly a mathematical result of rising inflation and increased government sector spending.

It does not mean that there is job creation or traditional consumer spending and economic growth.

The mathematics of this makes our eventual economic destruction an inevitable reality. There is simply no way to stop it.

    Hat tip John Rolls

      Dontsayididnt tell you said…
      Of course we are broke, its all been spent, and there aint nothing coming in and We all know how this is going to play out;
First The debt ceiling will most definitely be raised by August.
Soon after by fall The banks will start loaning again.
They will offer Low interest credit rates for credit cards, business start ups, homes, cars you name it.
Americans will gobble up this new cheap credit debt and start buying crap again everyone will be making money.
The main stream media will beat the drums accordingly night and day over and over again pounding it into our brains, how the economy is booming again.
Preppers will be looked upon as Nay Sayers, Social misfits and outcasts, druggies, bad investors, anti American, Anti capitalists, and the name calling will go on and on till they beat the preppers back into the caves.
This will go on till president Obama gets reelected.
Then the real Hell will begin..
Crushing Tax hikes, higher interest rates, debt reforms, salary cuts, pension reforms, social security cuts, medicare cuts medicaid cuts.
all during this time they will continue increasing the taxes on the middle class till they are dumbed down and poor.

Sounds like a good time for everybody who can get credit cards to get them and let the banks pay for the preps they need. Get what you can, charge them up over a couple of months, then tell them where to go.

Credit Cards are unsecured “debt” created by your signature. That signature can buy a lot of preps, and the preps are safe.

      • You can never have enough ammo. My only disagreement with the premis is simple. We can still run the printing press and idiots in the world still give us oil, products, and commodities like gold in return for it. When the world stops taking the dollar S ‘will’ HTF. Until then we get to live the dream – and prepare for the inevitable.

You can never – and I mean never – have enough ammo. That is one reason I love 10/22′s and have numerous 22 pistols….50,000 rounds isn’t all that much of an investment over a few years. $450 a year and I add 10,000 more.

          • Got a couple extended mags for the little Ruger: a 25 that cost me about that. …and a 30 that cost me about $11. Both are great but require a little trimming on the top. The bolt face would catch on the top of the mags. A little filing with a good Nicholson, wowee! 30 (or 25) shots. I considered.

Remember people, a balanced approach. Make sure you have all your 7Gs covered, then, if you have extra to “sink” into something, buy ammo, silver, whatever. You can always trade it later for whatever.

Anybody know any good places to pick up 30-30 and 30-06 ammo?

Someone needs to erase that phrase from our collective recognition. … “too much ammo”. What *IS* that? I don’t understand the term.

Rate This Comment: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

          • Netranger, for 30-30 and 30:06 I’d recommend a reloading commitment, and before you think no way there is a hand held reloading tool at Cabellas for under a $100…. Might even be less then 50 I don’t recall since I don’t reload for semi autos and the only thing I have that isn’t semi is a 357 lever and revolver combo. For the 357 I hope to add the hand reload kit in the future. I know a lot of guys reload all the calibers….that isn’t for me. And 22′s of course we can’t reload but we can sure stock pile!

          • Jim,

Who said you can’t reload 22 rim fire stuff? I certainly have, but, not by conventional means. Its more of a novelty than anything.

As far as loading 30-30s and 30-06, I can and do. In fact, I’m died up for 30-30s now.

But, what I find is that to get a big store of something, reloading certain cartridges can be way more expensive than buying bulk, depending on the cartridge, of course. Try attempting to beat the price of 9mm ammo. Unless you cast your own bullets, you’ll fail.

I can certainly reload 30-06 cheaper than I can buy them, even buying jacketed bullets, however, getting the cases pushes the cost up. Same with 30-30 stuff.

When you’re looking to stockpile, it really doesn’t make sense to reload 1000′s of rounds. You commit all your stock into something you may or may not use. Its a lot cheaper to buy bulk, usually.

            So, thats where I’m at.

Hey, they’re fine for varmint hunting e.g. rabbit & squirrell but you better have a battle rifle (or 10) in 5.56 or 7.62×39 to defend your newly acquired food & preps! A 12 gauge shottie is a good idea as well!

BUT they are cheap ($70 to $90) they are cheap to shoot ($90 per 880rnds) bolt action, very reliable, 147grain steel core hits like a ton of bricks. Look on You Tube / Mosin Nagant 91/30 1000 yard shot. You cant even buy a .22 at this price. I have 6 and love them.

July’s issue of Shooting Times magazine featured an article about a replacement trigger by Timney for $94.95 and it seems to be one of the best upgrades for the Mosin Nagant. The trigger pull can be reduced from 9.5 pounds to a crisp 3 pounds. If you are competent in gunsmithing, it should be a snap. Otherwise, take it to a qualified ‘smith.

We are undergoing serious earth changes and this can’t be argued….I have heard many really good theories as to why, I think it is all related and actually several different reasons. TPTB know what is coming and aren’t about to tell us, so they are keeping us distracted until it gets here and then they can let the beast die and pull the life support plug they have been intentionally been keeping plugged in until the right time. Then they will let it all go at the same time and they will run off in their safe hiding places and come out when all the dying and death is over….at least that is their plan….I know a God who says other wise :-)

You seem to think this is a viable and acceptable solution . . . print enough money to just payoff the Chinese with toilet paper money? The problem with this is yes, the debt owed to the Chinese is now paid off, but now they go shopping with all that toilet paper money, which means food, energy, all prices in the U.S. and all over the world are bid up to astronomical levels. No more debt, but now a loaf of bread is $1,400 dollars. Not much of a solution. That “cure” will kill the patient.

Eventually our children will just default on the debt that we created and stuck them with.

No where in my post did I condone this kind of behavior. I’m just saying don’t say we will ever default or go bankrupt as a nation, we will just hyperinflate ourselves to oblivion. Once all of the investors get fed up and cash in their chips we will just fire up the printing press and hand them a bunch of worthless paper (or a loaf of bread seeing how by this time it will probably cost $100,000,000,000,000 US dollars for one). Like the previous poster, I find the word “revalue” confusing. Revalue the dollars against other currencies or change its weight in the SDR basket? That might be the intent of his phrasing. Certainly we all know the dollar only carries the weight it does on account of being the reserve currency and the U.S. military having no peers.

Which brings up the topic … now that Iran has an oil terminal in the persian gulf and is selling their oil to other countries and accepting payment other than the USD …. how long can it be before the U.S. declares Iran to have WMDs and need to be invaded?

They shot down a drone we used to spy on them just in the past few days and are parading it off. They invaded Kurdish bases in Iraq last weekend and our administration hasn’t even commented. The MSM is calling those Kurdish bases terrorist camps by the way. Funny how our friends are now terrorists and our enemies are free to invade countries we are responsible for the defense of at the moment.

Israel could well start something up with Iran we’ll have to finish as previously posted here. Their very survival may depend on it. I think the only reason a nuke isn’t snuck into Israel for detonation is the Muslim followers don’t want a radio active holy land. They consider it thier holy land too.

Did you ever contemplate war with Iran might be necessary? They might bring it to us if we don’t take it to them.

July 19, 2011 at 6:22 pm Keep these things in mind when you hear about the “evil Iranian regime” by the Jewish dominated media.

Iran has no nuke bomb program as verified by the IAEA
Iran has a right to build nuclear power facilities.
Iran is a signatory to the NNPT which allows them to enrich uranium to electric generation grade.
Iran would rather sell their oil than burn it for electricity.
Iran hasn’t invaded another nation for over 200 years, but Iran was invaded by Iraq which was sponsored and funded by the US killing 500,000 Iranians.
Iran doesn’t get any funding from the US

          Israel has actual nuke bombs.
Israel invades many nations and they are currently in 4 illegally at this time (Syria, Lebanon,Jordan and Palestine).
Israel refuses to sign the NNPT.
Israel refuses to allow inspections of their nuke facilities at Dimona.
Israel has costed the US 4 times what the entire Apollo moon program costed us.

Keep these facts in mind when the maniacs in TelAviv start yet another war for the gullible US dummies to finish with our treasure and your son’s blood.

“However, France said Iran’s move – which Tehran claims could triple the rate at which it enriches uranium – confirmed suspicions that the Iranian nuclear programme had “no credible civilian application”. The French foreign ministry said: “Iran has just given in to another provocation by announcing the imminent installation of next generation centrifuges.

“This is a new violation of six security council resolutions and 10 resolutions by the council of governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency [IAEA].”"

            http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/jul/19/iran-acceleration-nuclear-angers-west

I think the fact that Israel has nukes and has not used them against her enemies proves that she is not the aggressor, she is only defending herself.

Have you ever read any of Ahmadinejad’s comments and beliefs regarding the 12th Imam? Israel is the Little Satan – guess who the Big Satan is?? “Today, they came for the Jews and I did nothing because I am not a Jew.” Who will they come for tomorrow?

You have to be kidding? Sounds like Iran is a Jeffersonian Democracy? More facts:
            Iran is the world’s largest sponsor of terrorism – remember that term, it’s where Islamic lunatics kill innocent women and children in the name of God;
            Iran is a religious dictatorship backed by a subjugated military;
Iran, dating back to their love affair with Hitler and the Nazis, always backs the bad guys. They wouldn’t know a “good cause” if it bit them in their evil asses.

The quicker Israel bombs them into the Stone Age, the quicker the world can heal.

Final fact to watch for: at the end of time, when Christ returns to fight and end the last war, guess who HE will be fighting? Nope, it won’t be Israel, it will be Iran, Russia, Ethiopia, Egypt, Libya, and China. I assume you’re on the side of Jesus? If not, you better re-think your priorities.

First, I agree that $266,000 per gubmint job created is a bit much. Location partly determines price though. In Oklahoma that same money would buy you 3 politicians, 5 bureaucrats and a first round draft pick in the leiutenant governors race. In Illinois it’ll get you one-fourth of an appointment to a US senate seat. And in California it’ll pay 12, count ‘em, 12 minutes of maintaining the whole state government. It all depends on where you shop I guess.
Also, I think Mr Chapman is right that the euro, the dollar and most other currencies are headed down the toilet, except in France where it’s going down the bidet and Oklahoma where it’s going in the outhouse.
I don’t dispute his analysis, but I see no reason to present this as urgent news and then conclude with “There is no question now that the game is over. Other nations will continuously buy oil in US dollars because if they don’t, they’ll get killed. The military industrial complex of Israel/US/UK/etc is so powerful, it even struck fear into God.

We will continue to suffer as this grand Ponzi scheme, slave system keeps going. Those who are unemployed will take the heat from family and loved ones, while feeling ashamed of themselves because they will never make ends meet as before. We will continue to be ridiculed by the sheeple and even our loved ones. Relationships will be destroyed as well as our own sanity and our own lives. The fact is that the working sheeple who have jobs, don’t see anything wrong because they are too preoccupied and stressed from work. So they will look down upon the unemployed and even those who are awakened and employed.

For the SHTF to happen at this point, we’ll need major, major natural cataclysmic events to occur throughout the world. So if this Elenin/Dwarf Brown Star/Niburu doesn’t crash into Earth this fall/winter, then we are pretty much slaves to the NWO for the remainder of this century.

      20. Below is advice from John Perkins’ book, entitled THE SECRET HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN EMPIRE (The Truth About Economic Hit Men,Jackals,And How To Change The World), pp. 322-329.

“AVOID SHOPPING AS ‘RETAIL THERAPY’ (Instead, jog, meditate, read, or find some other solution).
SHOP CONSCIOUSLY – if there is something you must have, purchase items whose packaging, ingredients, and methods of production are sustainable and support life.
MAKE EVERYTHING YOU OWN LAST AS LONG AS POSSIBLE
PURCHASE AT CONSIGNMENT AND THRIFT STORES –where everything is recycled.
Write letters telling Monsanto, De Beers, ExxonMobil, Adidas, Ford, GE, Coca-Cola, WALMART, and other labor exploiters and environment destroyers
why you REFUSE TO PURCHASE FROM THEM.
CUT BACK ON OIL AND GAS CONSUMPTION!
DOWNSIZE (your car, home, wardrobe) – everything in your life (and don’t buy what you don’t need)
SUPPORT/SEND MONEY only to non-profits, radio stations, and other organizations that promote JUST causes.
VOLUNTEER your time and energy to such organizations.
      SUPPORT LOCAL MERCHANTS
ENCOURAGE stores to buy from local growers, producers, and suppliers.
Shop at your LOCAL FARMERS’ MARKET
AVOID DRINKING WATER THAT IS FLUORIDATED (only your toothpaste should have non-industrial fluoride)
INSIST that those who use your money – banks, pensions, mutual funds, companies – make socially and environmentally responsible investments.”
      21. Invest in precious metals (especially silver).
      22. Research every company whose products or services you buy
      23. Research every organization to which you donate your hard-earned money
      24. Vote with your dollars!
      25. Watch ‘The Secret of Oz’– a film by William T. Still (can be found here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swkq2E8mswI)
      26. Get prepared for when the U.S. dollar TOTALLY COLLAPSES – You’ll need 1) Water, 2) Food, 3) Vital Medicine 4) First Aid Kit, etc.
      27. Global, non-violent, NON-COMPLIANCE is the answer, of We the Plebs, to the ‘elite’ New World Order!
      28. Find alternatives to EVERYTHING that they’ve set up, to entrap you in THEIR system.
      29. What would happen if 200 MILLION AMERICANS refused to pay their taxes, in 2012? (Just a hypothetical question)
      30. Familiarize yourself with the concept of BOYCOTT
      31. Corporate Membership in the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations):

      33. Watch ‘Global Warming or Global Governance’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_u81qXOYfKg )
      34. Educate yourself. Thomas Jefferson: “If a nation expects to be ignorant & free, in a state of civilisation, it expects what never was & never will be.”

Expand the above list, and share it with everyone you know!

“When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion–when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing–when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors–when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you–when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice–you may know that your society is doomed.”……….Atlas Shrugged
